Main reason for this incident is that PUNJABI feel that they can do anything they want. They think they single handedly defeated GOI. They forgot that there are Sikhs living all over India.Just imagine if Modi was killed. What would have been scenario today. There are 30-40% Hindus living in Punjab. This farmer thing was overdone and we pay price now. Industry is going out and boys stopped studies. How long they will continue like this

this is exactly what they expect. i blame Modi and BJP for all these. they have giving too much freedom to all anti-nationals and opposition. if the farmer protest had been crushed with iron fist after redfort incident no sane Indian would have protested in fact every one would have supported. but that did modi do. Just sit idle and withdraw the Farm bill. the same is in every state, be it west bengal or kerala. if CM is sacked or babus in-charge are sacked publicly shamed lessons are not thought. insted of doing this as a bjp vs cong it has to be Gov vs babus.

Centre may use SPG Act against Punjab Police officers, summon them to Delhi
Whether this would be fruitful need to be seen. Similar incident had happened when BJP head honcho J.P Nadda visited W.B. Central Govt wanted three IPS officers to be sent back to face the music. West Bengalore C.M refused this, and then there is no news on what happened next. I don't know if there are provisions to withold the pay & pensions of such officials; and then leave them at the mercy of the state governments.
rsingh wrote:They forgot that there are Sikhs living all over India.Just imagine if Modi was killed.
That would have actually helped the Khalistani cause, and various other "secular-liberal" causes as well. We know about what happened when Indira Ghandi was killed by Sikh Guards way back in 1980s. The anti-Sikh riots were Congress organised and even today this incident is some thing which Congress party cannot weasel out. They have tried to use the Sikh v/s Hindu (mob) excuse but by and large people have seen through this.

Now assume a similar incident happening in 2022. A popular politician getting killed by Sikhs and then there is backlash against Sikh community again. This time around it can be clearly put on the heads of the Sangh Parivar and also the Sikh v/s Hindu theory can also be used to its maximum. Khalistan ideas can again be brought to life, this time with more opportunities to say that Khalistan is needed to keep the Sikhs safe from Hindu India. With social media & internet etc (which did not exist in 1980s) it would be easy to tom tom this across the world.

It is time for GoI to rethink on relationships with all states in India. GoI should not have high dependencies on any state, be it for agriculture produce or for Army recruitment. Distribute this across all states. Slogans like Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan are now pretty much redundant. Let any one from any where in India become a Jawan/Kisan; they too are finally doing a job and making a living out of it. Beyond a point pampering/patronising any group will become counter productive. I don't think any Annadata/Farmer broker is giving any agricultural produce for free.

If BJP sees itself as a nationalist party they need to develop party presence, grassroots cadre and focus on getting and staying in power on border states like J&K, Punjab, WB, Rajasthan. Like they have done in Assam. This could take a few years, meanwhile they should not hesitate to form coalitions where possible and stay close to power. Meanwhile, ensure border state Govts are kept under heightened watch for any anti-national activities by creating focused desks under MHA and not hesitate to impose President's rule if there is a threat Nat Sec situation.

As we become a 3T+>> 5T+ economy, Nat Sec instability will have a huge impact on the entire country on multiple levels. India is a Union of States, not a Federation like the US. Thats has not been our model historically, nor is it suitable for our neighbourhood. Going easy on state level mismanagement on issues of national impact is simply unaffordable for world's 3rd largest economy & biggest democracy.

Meanwhile Prashant Bhushan is back to his old tricks. Looks like Punjab Police also allowed BJP supporters to come very close to the PM's cavalcade (when it was stalled on the fly over) and Bhushan is trying to insinuate that it was these party supporters who were the actual threat. This nation has never been short of cheapos and never it will be.

PM security breach is a much more serious issue then what is being discussed. I am suspecting the plan all along was to cause riots against Sikhs - even a symbolic attack on Modi would have triggered it. Videos are out which shows protestors with long bamboo sticks and stones in their hands and raising aggressive slogans. Imagine if few would have actually charged towards Modi's car or thrown stones. What would SPG do - other than shooting down the attackers. This would be sufficient to start anarchy.
Also 3 extremists arrested today from Moga carrying couple of hand-grenades and pistols with live rounds just in the neighborhood of where PM was stopped. Not sure if there was conspiracy to throw grenades or shoot live rounds once there was enough conundrum by these so called Kisaan loonists.
SPG would have had no choice but to shoot anyone suspicious or threatening and would have been a serious situation.
This was a serious plot which fortunately did not succeed.

Repealing of the farm laws have blunted the movement by the farmer-broker-terrorists so they need a new reason/incident. If GoI has any sense of self pride it should at least initiate enquiries on the IPS officials (they are all part of central service) and make life miserable to them till they open up.
I am afraid you both are rather benign in your assessments and opinions.
Request read my earlier post on the subject.
If one believes that it is just by providence or coincidence that the convoy was stopped on top of a flyover, which was effectively:
• Above vegetative cover
• In close proximity to a an incomplete two floor building (a convenient and nice fire platform).
• An effective cul-de-sac (divided lanes), no chance of quick reversals.
• 20-30 km fro the International Border, well within reach of drones.
• Immobilising the PM and thereby greatly increasing the vulnerability factor.
• Good possibility of moving protestors behind his convoy also and thereby trapping him.
• A very good exposed aerial target for drones.
• A very good target for ground attack by heavy calibre weapons.

Then I am afraid, we are living in La La Land.

This was, for all practical purposes, an attempt to convert him into a target of opportunity, which for whatever reasons, could not be exploited by the other side! I
It's not something as simple as pitting the NSG against those useful idiots holding protests - that would have perhaps at best been plan 'B".
That DGP (Chattopadhyay?) should be swung by his fat neck, hung upside down and questioned about his integrity and loyalty to his country!!

Agree with the above. There was something definitely nefarious at play, which did not succeed for whatever reason

On MeghUpdates twitter:
Bsf has recovered an empty Pakistani Boat in Sutlej River in Ferozepur, Punjab just 50kms from where #PMModi 's cavalcade was stopped.

All agencies alerted
The SPG from the body language looked completely at sea and unprepared. The video where PM is sitting in the front seat and SPG opens the rear door not sure if its protocol

The plot gets murkier. Current DGP of PJ Chattopadhyay was installed to replace Sahota on 17th Dec upon major insistance of Sidhu.

It's possible that PM's Punjab visit was planned by early Dec and some people in the PJ Govt were made aware of it to start making required arrangements.

This is looking more and more like a foiled asination attempt. Foiled by design, counter measures or luck, and at what stage of realisation we don't know yet. But on that flyover, there was serious threat for sure.

Border states need the presence of weaponized air cover, either already airborne or available at extremely short notice.

Bring the border troops to a state of alert if the PM, President or HM is in the state so that any paki adventurism is deterred.

all that was needed to create international chaos with Modi trapped on the flyover was a cheap rocket launcher and there are plenty of those available from soviet, cheeni and ameriki sources with jehadis like the taliban/afghanistan, untraceable and unaccounted.

BSF scope extended to 25km from border was not useful or utilised in anyway during this whole episode?

Why did the convoy proceed from Bhatinda if DGP and state Secretary were not present - if that's required as per Blue Book?

Were pilot vehicles sent in the hour before the convoy reached the spot? How and why did they fail to detect the blockade and report back?

Lots of grey areas in what transpired...

This episode just shows how weak our protocols are when it comes to protecting the Head of State!

But not surprising. All we need to do is look at Modi election rallies, the crowds, how close they get to him etc. Only the Paramatma is keeping him safe.

Even in Punjab, Modi will have to go back again for election rallies. If he doesn't, the Congress will call him names for shying away from an electoral fight.

So, this scenario will play out again. Will we be better prepared?

Also, the Muslims are careful that any harm (or potential harm) to Modi or Yogi not be tied back to them. There are many other actors, useful idiots & BIF cretins who are willing to do the dirty deed: Khalistanis, Maoists, NE separatists etc. These are the other non-Islamic threats to our nation's pro-Hindu leaders.

DGP change would be more of a electoral hanky-panky to be done before MCC is applied - to ensure a pliant police force. Stopping on flyover is more logical as it limits axis of attack and prevents an possibility for the PM vehicle to be gheraoed from all sides. The flyover had 2 separate arms and there was a gap between 2 sides - so SPG has to focus less on sides and more towards the front. Also usually bandobast and blockage is removed once the cavalcade passes - so it would not be easy to just turn back. Probably the car waited on the flyover waiting for return route to be cleared again before turning back. SPG will not wait for 20 mins on a flyover for onward route to be cleared as there is no guarantee that it will be - the only option is to turn back and go back on the route that was sanitized till that point.

'Love Jihad' debate in Karnataka after girl with ISIS links arrested. Also note the sub-title - "Progressive thinkers dub the arrest as a mere Hindutva agenda and allege that the NIA has been taking orders from Nagpur" :P. Now who the bl***y hell are these progressive thinkers? Most likely self appointed ones .

By the way; comments and statistics from folks like Pramod Muthalik are interesting. Don't know on whose side he is batting now. And note the campaigning done by the Hindu organisations via retd. police officials, advocates etc. This is also one group who cannot be easily intimidated.

She may be in need of medical attention and the state will be forced to provide her with good and free medical care in prison at no cost to herself as well as assure her safety. Soon, she will get bailed out and like all jehadis in India, she will be entitled to rehabilitation and state financial assistance, medical, security, and housing

this is the most commonly used ploy among the commie naxal cadres to go mainstream, get rehabilitated, ensure free medical care and housing for life as the commie lawyers will ensure that the "case" drags on for decades. The state is openly complicit in this scam

exactly like dawood family members abroad, coming back and surrendering to the cops in India, getting bail immediately, running their business as usual, and also being able to move about openly without any fear of arrest

Any attempted assassination attempt will most likely happen through the Naxalites in a coordinated attack. This was already shown in the Navlakha??? episode.

How Delhi cops foiled Kabul airport bomber a week before his evil designs on capital in 2017
NEW DELHI: The Islamic State of Khorasan Province (ISKP) has released the first edition of its magazine, Voice of Khorasan, with a story on 2021 Kabul airport bomber, Abdurrehman al Logari, and his failed Istashadi operation (suicide mission) in Delhi in 2017. Logari, ISKP says, was nabbed just a week before the execution of his deadly task in the city.
ISKP profiled Logari by tracing his childhood in Pakistan, his ability to speak five languages and his passion for journalism as a teenager, and also detailed how he fled the Bagram prison in Afghanistan where he was incarcerated and 11 days later detonated his suicide vest at the airport entrance during an evacuation following the Taliban takeover of Kabul.
Last September, IS's India magazine, Sawt-al-Hind, had confirmed that the Afghan airport bomber had been nabbed in Delhi. Now, the ISKP magazine has published Logari’s first clear photograph and revealed how Delhi Police's Special Cell picked him up from his college and subsequently transferred him to CIA in Kabul. He was interrogated for weeks at the Bagram airbase, with the information provided by him leading to the killing of over 400 ISIS terrorists in the Hindukush mountains and elsewhere in drone strikes.
Logari, the ISKP mouthpiece says, was born to a wealthy family in Afghanistan's province of Logar in 1996.
“After his studies in Pakistan, Logari moved back to Afghanistan in 2016 where he met the operatives of Islamic State at a time when Wilaya Khorasan was newly formed. He underwent training as a mujahid and also became active on social media where he was spreading the message of jihad to several users across the world,” the article says.
During his training, he specialised in explosives and was soon involved in the frontlines against the US forces. He “developed an interest” in suicide ops and was selected for an operation. Awaiting his turn, he assisted fellow bombers in recording their “wills” and having them delivered to their families.
“In 2017, he was given a mission to go to India for an Istashadi mission approved by ISKP. He travelled to Delhi and got admission in a private university on the outskirts of Delhi as a cover-up,” Voice of Khorasan states. “He was arrested one week prior to executing his mission when one of his associates was arrested by Indian intelligence services.”
The story says that Logari was interrogated in India before he was handed over to the Afghan government. After his deportation to Afghanistan, he was investigated by CIA before he was sentenced to five years in prison and moved to Pur-e-Chalkhi prison in Kabul.
“Having come from a wealthy family, he faced extreme pressure from his family to give up jihad and was offered freedom, money and choice of partner in exchange. However, he remained firm. Eventually, his family severed all ties with him and deprived him of any financial assistance,” the magazine says. “During the fourth year of his sentence, he suffered from tuberculosis and was moved to Bagram prison on CIA’s request. He was interrogated for two weeks in solitary confinement about suicide operations in Kabul at the time.”
On August 15 last year, IS raided the prison and freed around 2,000 mujahideen and their families while a massive evacuation process was under way. After his escape from prison, Logari opted against returning home and requested to be sent on a suicide mission. On August 26, he evaded the Taliban checkposts on the road to the Kabul airport and got into a queue at the entrance. He detonated his suicide vest when a security personnel approached him for checks, killing 183 people, including 13 US military personnel.

On the contrary rather than feeding him and evenful Courts and Media declaring him a victim of fascism and Xenophobia allowing him to be out on the streets of India, by pushing him to Afganistan we dodged a bullet.

Can this be the back story (this was the first explanation coming to my mind - and for who do not want to read further, it does not involve berating the current GOI, for that please watch Rdtv or Wire or follow Raul Gandi)

This person was tracked by CIA/Afgan Intel as he was already active. When he moved to India, they eventually tracked him here and informed the GOI. GOI as a standard process, interrogated him first to get local level intel and then handed over him to Afgan govt. The understanding also would have been to pass back any India level info.

The more we try to explain it the more pathetic it sounds. I will only hope that there is more to this story than what's in media reports and GoI had better reasons to hand this scum over to Afghanistan than its assumed inability to manage ensuing media circus or to blindly follow some "standard procedure" (standard set by whom? when? why?....) with a lawless country.

There seems to be a well coordinated scheme to get Hijab into every aspect of student life and make it a kind of "New Normal". And Hijab most likely would be the starting point of such differentiation requests.
Kerala: No hijab with student police cadets uniform: Kerala government
Karnataka: No Hijab or Saffron Shawls in Schools, That’s Not a Place to Practise Religion: K'taka Home Min Amid Row In Karnataka; students had launched a counter campaign by wearing saffron shawls to colleges.

And here is one article from a useful idiot from the Hindu Brahmin community .

The data these scums possess is more valuable than simply dumping them.
Also cooperation with foreign intel is helpful for both parties. They inform you and you capture that asset and then dump them is stupid. Next time they will not inform. The fact that he was apprehended a week before tells you, he was tracked always, they were tracking all his associates and once he was himself nearing a big incident, he was taken out. I bet 100% the tracking was mostly from foreign Intel (with our Intel in the loop). Since he was from a 'rich' family, he ws in the crosshair from the very beginning.

the thookers are trying to terrorize the aam aadmi with a string of murders for "blasphemy" so that the public resistance reduces drastically due to the fear factor and at the same time, also shift the Overton window for mainstreaming their desert cult "identity" in non muzelim settings so that many aspects of society is under their sway.

halal is already the new normal and that overton window has shifted so unobtrusively that so many don't even realize how many things have already been halalized. Next, even electricity and water will be declared halal

the duckan herold is run by a set of long term congi boot lickers with several ex CMs in the extended family circles. They have long term roots in the liquor trade which automatically implies political muscle and the obligations that go with it

their reports have been slanted and biased for decades now

Abu Bakar, one of India's most wanted terrorists and 1993 Mumbai blast accused, held in UAE
In a major operation overseas, Indian agencies have succeeded in apprehending one of India's most wanted terrorists involved in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case. Twelve blasts at different places had taken place in Mumbai, killing 257 people and injuring 713.

The apprehended terrorist is named Abu Bakar who was involved in arms and explosives training in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir, landing of RDX used in the serial blasts, and conspiracy and planning at Dawood Ibrahim's residence in Dubai.

Abu Bakar, said to be one of the prime conspirators of the 1993 blasts, had been residing in UAE and Pakistan. He was recently apprehended on inputs of Indian agencies in UAE.

Bakar was once apprehended in 2019. However, he had managed to get himself freed from the custody of the UAE authorities due to some documentation issues.

Top sources confirmed that Indian agencies are in process of extraditing Bakar. Almost 29 year after being put on India's most wanted list, Abu Bakar will finally face law in India once he is brought back from UAE.

Abu Bakar whose full name is Abu Bakar Abdul Gafur Shaikh was involved in smuggling along with Mohammad and Mustafa Dossa who were key lieutenants of Dawood Ibrahim. He smuggled gold, clothing and electronics from Gulf countries to Mumbai and nearby landing points. A Red Corner Notice was issued against him in 1997.

Abu Bakar has several business interests in Dubai and has married an Iranian national who is his second wife.

Top sources in central agencies confirmed the development to India Today on Friday evening and said that the process of Bakar's extradition has been initiated.

UAE protects him for 29 years, announces it in UAE so he can be freed, if they were serious, he should be in India or unfortunately died on the way

May be this would be the first time success of I&B Ministry, and hope they are able to hold on with the appeals in higher courts etc.
'Inputs Justify Denial Of Security Clearance' : Kerala High Court Upholds Ban On MediaOne News Channel
This pro-Islamist channel was denied renewal of their license based on intelligence inputs. They had appealed at Kerala HC who put a stay on the initial orders from I&B ministry. Now the ministry have given the synopsis of the intelligence inputs and Kerala HC (Single bench) have now concurred with the ban. The 'Media One' channel most likely will appeal at Kerala High Court (Division Bench).

Came back to say: The said channel is now broadcasting via YouTube as the I&B orders do NOT seem to be applicable to internet based broadcasting .

I will only hope that there is more to this story than what's in media reports and GoI had better reasons to hand this scum over to Afghanistan than its assumed inability to manage ensuing media circus or to blindly follow some "standard procedure" (standard set by whom? when? why?....) with a lawless country.
Nothing Pathetic about the explanation if you really think about it Cyrano Ji. India has never bumped people off as a policy, maybe we did conduct "operations" in few countries to nab most wanted but we haven't gone the Israel way yet. The people arrested for piracy off the African coast are still languishing in Indian Jails and are being fed as there are no laws to deal with them and hand over to their country.

Also one has to remember that in 2017 India was dealing with a friendly Afghan dispensation and killing of a person from a "rich family" will have consequences from the tribal land and relations stand point. You don't want to muddy waters over somebody that had terror links but was not caught red handed during the act. if radicalization is the point then a lot of people will get bumped off in the country itself. The court would have had a prolonged trial and ultimately released him with the media braying on Inida ill treating foreigners on account of religion.

All of them point to law of diminishing returns. Its more useful to pump him for information and then hand over to who ever wants him in his own country. Now the Khans will also know what radicalization means (not that they are not aware of it, but casualties among its citizens will force it to acknowledge and act accordingly) a small brick in the construction of a mega structure, i suppose in the long run in fighting radicalization.

Who said bump him off? Letting off a foreign terrorist who planned to kill citizen of this country instead of trying and sentencing him is not a great show for me. That too with an unstable, occupied nation like Afghanistan which is a breeding ground for such scum is "pathetic" no matter what quid pro quos are being put forth today. If what we should have differently is hard to imagine, ask yourself how a US, China, Japan, France would deal with a similar situation. None would have sent him back. Last from me on this, you are free to hold your views.

What a powerful statement by the PM: "...I have always won the hearts of the farmers of the whole country. They have supported me. I had taken the steps for the benefit of the farmers. But now, I have to take those steps back for the benefit of the nation. I believe I do not have to explain further. Future incidents will show why this was necessary."

Chinna Jeer Swamy's blessing NaMo as vratha-sampan is a clear recognition of his importance.
