In Kerala, things are slightly better. Kerala Police have reported that the Fire Force personnel started the ruckus. Charge of "culpable homicide not amounting to murder", has been put on the CISF SI, from whose service pistol three rounds were fired. Around 50+ CISF personnel has been transferred to Chennai and Bengaluru. Most of the fire service staff are any way in police remand. Today the main to culprits from the Fire Brigade staff may also get arrested. They were in the hospital till now. It is now reported that the AAI organisation structure at Karippur would get revamped. As a first step Fire Force staff would get transferred to other AAI airports. My request would be to transfer them individually to some really desolate airports in the far flung areas of India.

The Fire Brigade blocked the runway by parking their vehicle. That is a serious breach of security and endangers lives of passengers. What if an aircraft needed an emergency landing at that time?
This in itself should be treated as a separate case by the police. The list of violations seems to be long.

The bigger question is : what is the Fire Brigade's beef in this? The fact that they initiated ( as Kerala police seem to suggest) something this big and serious means they have a lot to loose. Dead giveaway from police POV.

All the transferred AAI and Fire Brigade staff now have a cross-wire on their foreheads. Wherever they go, there will be CISF personnel waiting for them. And they will encounter a slow, deliberate security check, with extra body scans , some pauses , will be asked to turn around so many times they might as well play ballet music in the background. :)

Newspapers screaming that 100+ CISF staff transferred ( gives impression that they are being punished) ....this when one of CISF staff dies in a accident initiated by some thugs . It makes me sad and angry. Next time you go through airports, just have a look at them CISF lot. They are mostly overworked and tired. And they patrol the entry points in the hot sun. I make it a point to thank all of them.

It reminds me of an incident in Chennai. A whole bunch of people waiting for security check when this lady comes and says her plane will leave in 30 mins. She is restless in the queue and approaches CISF lady there quite arrogantly if she could be jump the queue. The lady simply points her to the back of queue. To which the lady replied in English that if she misses her plane, then the CISF lady is to blame. The CISF lady was made very uncomfortble at that point - probably because she could not respond in English. I wanted to step in for the CISF lady - sadly could not muster the courage to do that.

And then there is this piece.

CISF-Airport Staff Altercation at Kozhikode Not a Stray Case
In January this year, when CISF personnel refused to allow the wife of a CPI MP through the VIP gate, he wasn’t too upset. But that wasn’t the case with the airport trade unionists who came to see him off. They argued and nearly came to blows till the MP intervened and calmed them down.
“There is a lot of history between both the parties. It’s not just about that issue alone. There was bitterness when CISF had strictly disallowed several regular employees, who did not renew their passes, from entering the airport on January 1,” said an airport officer.
What kind of bizarre arguments are these? Wife of CPI MP not allowed through VIP gate is a no-brainer! Who is breaking protocol? Who will be blamed if some other wife of TMC leader goes rogue and wants to meet her 72  ?
And who is to blame if AAI does not renew passes of its own staff? This argument does not even deserve a response.

This sense of invincibility from trade unions, AAI staff , customs , other departmnets at airports - all these must be dealt with firmly. First comes security. I would argue for more security , top class features for these people with A/Ced quarters, good nourishing food, proper beds etc etc. They deserve this more than anybody else out there.

The Fire Brigade* staff is now trying to come up with a fig leaf of an explanation. That they were $hit scared of the CISF jawans who came armed from their barracks. They knew that a sound thrashing was inevitable and found that the only place for them to escape with the fire engines was the runway. But the question remains why should they try to make an escape using the fire engines?
what is the Fire Brigade's beef in this? The fact that they initiated ( as Kerala police seem to suggest) something this big and serious means they have a lot to loose. Dead giveaway from police POV.
From what I could glean from local media. The AAI staff including the Fire & Emergency folks had started to get the Kashmiriyat kind of feelings (sense of entitlement), and they were not comfortable with the CISF being strict on security checks. The fire brigade staff member (AjiKumar??) had come without the required ID, and this is what triggered the tussle. It is also rumoured that this staff member was drunk. I tend to believe this a bit, as this chap and another fellow are hospitalised. An immediate detention of them, may have given more clues on being drunk. The staff member who was turned away from the gate, then summoned all his comrades using cell phone.

This airport is notorious for smuggling. In fact a gold smuggler/carrier was on the very flight which was diverted to Cochin when the fire brigade had parked the fire tenders on the run away. My impression is that every one -including the fire brigade staff - may have their own small smuggling rackets. Add to this the bloated ego which every Keralite government official has towards others, including them the CISF Naarthies.
Newspapers screaming that 100+ CISF staff transferred ( gives impression that they are being punished) ....
I don't think it needs to be seen as a form of punishment. But even in a small fight people do try to separate both parties. The CISF got their transfer orders first, and the AAI staffers are getting theirs. I would consider this to be a punishment only if one party gets transferred. The central government seems to have taken this incident seriously, and have not been anti-CISF (unlike the media with vested interests, in Kerala). Nine fire brigade staff are in judicial custody, and two more of their heroes would get picked up when they come out of their hospital beds. K.P seems to be doing a honest job, till this time.

* Note: The Fire Brigade in question here are NOT the Kerala Fire and Rescue Services. This seems to be an outfit maintained by AAI only, but the staff seems to be overwhelmingly locals/Keralites.

In the Karippoor Airport incident, the vernacular media is slowly turning anti-CISF with only reports indicating their faults or the arrests of their personnel.

Here we go again....

Godhra: 10 arrested in dubious visa case for Pakistan nationals
VADODARA: Panchmahal police arrested 10 persons in connection with the forged sponsorship letter case for visas of Pakistani nationals. The letters were issued by Godhra residents to Pakistani nationals - mostly relatives - to facilitate their travel to the town.

The Special Operations Group (SOG) of the Panchmahal police had been working on the case since October last year after it became wary of the increasing number of Pakistani nationals visiting Godhra. It registered an offence in November after a sponsorship letter it obtained as a sample from the Indian high commission at Islamabad turned out to be forged. Five persons were arrested earlier in the case.

...
Sources in the department suspect that a majority of the around 2,000 persons who had visited Godhra from Pakistan last year could have obtained visas on dubious letters. The Panchmahal police that had earlier written to the high commission to provide it with more sponsorship letters so that these could be verified. Sources said that the photocopies of such letters were being furnished to the Panchmahal police and a large number of them were now suspected to be fake.

Ranaghat nun rape case: main accused arrested

KOLKATA, June 18, 2015

A 28-year-old Bangladeshi, one of the main accused in the sexual assault of a septuagenarian nun at a Ranaghat convent school, has been arrested from Sealdah railway station in Kolkata.
....
Now will the presstitutes in the media apologize for blaming hindus for the dastardly attack and trying to whip up communal passions.

Or will they maintain a silence and ignore this news as if nothing happened.

secular journalist reveals the truth about democracy in bihar

its not about development or secularism, the key to winning bihar is appeasing the muslim communalists while appearing to not appease them.

so the future of bihar will be decided by members of a foreign religious cult and not by the native people of bihar.

This is why bihar is backward and will remain backward.

i hope modi seriously looks at imposing president rule in bihar and starts a operation to catch all indian mujahideen mawali cells.

http://www.thehindu.com/opinion/lead/a- ... epage=true
Muslims will be the only social section that will wholeheartedly root for the Nitish-Lalu alliance but that will create a problem not only for the alliance but also for the polity in general. Bihar today is sharply polarised on communal lines. In fact the outcome in the Bhagalpur Lok Sabha constituency in 2014 tells the sad story of deep-running, communal sentiment in the State. Syed Shahnawaz Hussain, who used to win that seat on a BJP ticket even in ‘normal conditions’, lost in 2014 when the alliance led by the party won 31 of the 40 seats in the State, riding on the Modi wave. In August 2014, when Mr. Prasad and Mr. Kumar joined hands, they managed to win six of the 10 seats in Assembly by-elections, but the two Muslim candidates they had were defeated.

An aggressive Muslim consolidation behind the Nitish-Lalu-Congress alliance will make it vulnerable to the accusation that it is being propped up by Muslims, which can cause a Hindu reaction — a polarisation that will be advantageous for the BJP. Therefore, contrary to what many “secularists” think, what Mr. Kumar needs is a diffused Muslim response rather than their consolidation.

State plans to release Bowbazar blast convict
The state government plans to set free Rashid Khan, prime accused in the Bowbazar blast case of March 16, 1993, in which 69 people were killed.
Khan, now 62, had been convicted under Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act (TADA) and was sentenced to life imprisonment in 2001. Two buildings were gutted in central Kolkata's Bowbazar on March 16, 1993, as explosives stocked there by Khan, a satta don who was reportedly close to top CPM leaders, exploded.
It is believed that Khan has been considered for release as he is more than 60 years old and has maintained good conduct inside prison. He now learns painting in the jail.

Meanwhile in Kozhikode :
SUSCA May be Slapped in Kozhikode Airport Brawl Case
Brawl? How about I shoot the f*ing reporter in his face & throw him a band-aid?AS if the death of CISF personnel is insignificant. Anyway...looks like some specific laws are being used to take this case up .
KARIPUR/MANJERI: The authorities may take case under Suppression of Unlawful Acts against Safety of Civil Aviation Act(SUSCA) in the Karipur Airport incident. SUSCA has been introduced to register cases in incidents affecting the safety of air traffic. In Karipur, two flights had to be diverted and even the Air Traffic Control unit had gone dysfunctional following the brawl that claimed the life of CISF head constable S S Yadav.

However, the recommendation of investigating officer and the state also needed to register case under this Act. The Civil Aviation Ministry may move this way after the completion of primary police investigation. The state has to set up a special court to hear the case if SUSCA is slapped.

“SUSCA has not been slapped in the case yet. Investigating officers and state has to take a decision on this,” Calicut International Airport director, K Janardhanan said.

Another one which points out that AAI have a problem with frisking by CISF.
LIke I said before, CISF is the only trained force there is whick knows anything about security.

The Hindu, how ever has a different take on this matter.
http://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/Thi ... 331402.ece
As per this report the experts (?) feel that the right laws are not used in the investigations. It does not say that the AAI or GoI has decided to change its course now. The report states that Central Government can suo-moto appoint an investigating officer who will have some good power, and the state police would have give assistance to him. GoI has not appointed any IO based on SUSCA provisions.

I am getting a feeling that the whole case is now taking a different turn. K.P is just taking this as cases to be investigated non-avaiation laws. They have taken this as a homicide not amounting to murder charge, plus a few charges of destructing public property. The media hoo-haa has already died out. Perhaps there could be an arrangements made to water down the charges further down, and give some minor punishments to those involved. The local media would give the spin that 100% literate Fire Force personnel got a fairer deal, while the CISF from Up Naarth got the raw deal (and justice is served).

Does the SUSCA (and the international laws based on which it is drafted), recommend every strict penalties/punishments in such cases? Even punishments like closing down the entire airport for good? In such cases the state and central government may not wish to make things very serious, because of revenue, sunk infrastructure costs etc. The state government may also avoid this if they figure out the local staff in the airport (including the Fire Force chaps), may lose their jobs for good. This air port once again is noted for smuggling, various ministers, political outfits are said to have some close connects with these rackets and the last thing they would like to see is the opportunity for smuggling lost.

Surat: life imprisonment to Ishak Masalawala in year 2000 communal violence case
http://deshgujarat.com/2015/06/19/surat ... ence-case/

June 19, 2015

Surat Court has given life imprisonment to Ishak Masalawala for attacking a 17-year-old Mahesh Kakadia with sharp weapon in year 2000 during Bharat Bandh.

Due to attack on Amarnath Yatra in Jammu & Kashmir in year 2000, Bharat Bandh call was given by right wing organizations, during which Dhastipura based 17-year old Kiran Maheshbhai Kakadia was on way to school to check whether it’s functional or not. When he passed through Muslim dominated area of Sodagarwad, a mob attacked him with sharp weapons. Police had arrested Ishak Masalawala from spot of incident.

On Thursday, the court gave him life imprisonment and Rs 5,000 fine. Police had also arrested Arif Behra and Irfan Masalawala in same case, however court ordered their release giving them benefit of doubt.

NOt so easy for Fireforce lot to get away me thinks.
But SUSCA here seems to deal with offences done by people in-flight. I doubt if it applies to FireForce personnel who blocked the runway .
The thing is this is a dangerous precedent. Blocking roads , blocking office, dharnas etc etc have one intention - to paralyze. But with aircraft, these can have dramatic consequences. Swift action is required by GoI to show that this will not be tolerated.

Saar, this is a double edged sword to let go off easily. The writ of State must be applied. But closing down the airport seems to be a bit much.
I just hope frisking and security checks are not dropped for AAI staff. As it is, per latest reports, bail has been denied to CISF personnel.
My disgust for the media has just gone up a few notches. Very little coverage about the poor CISF chap who died. The focus seems to have shifted to the transgressions of the CISF chap.

There was big-time violence in Ambur (near Vellore, Tamilnadu) about a week back. It started with the complaint by a Hindu of his missing wife and the suspicion of her co-worker, a Muslim, in the affair. The inspector took the Muslim for interrogation and was released after a few days. Some days after his release, the guy died, and this was the trigger for Manitha Neya Makkal Katchi (Party for Humanism, a fundamentalist Muslim organization) to let loose a coordinated attack on the police in Ambur severely injuring 54 policemen & women. The very busy NH46, Chennai-Bengaluru, came to a standstill for over 5 hours with passing vehicles, government buses and police vehicles set on fire. Total damage to public & private property is in excess of Rs 10 crores. The comments in Tamil newspapers by members of this party are seditious and incendiary. The TN police claimed that they were asked to go 'soft' on the crowd because the government, as usual, is unwilling to take any action, as it happened three years back over the movie "Innocence of Muslims" when the arterial Mount Road was shut down continuously for three days and the American Embassy was besieged all the while. The Islamist militancy is thoroughly embedded in various pockets of Tamilnadu such as Chennai, Vellore and surrounding areas, Coimbatore, Madurai, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, Tanjore and Cuddalore.

Foreign firms investing in sensitive sectors like defence need to sign 'National Security Clause' http://ecoti.ms/9cVY2a
NEW DELHI: All foreign companies investing in the defence, telecom and private security sectors will have to sign a 'National Security Clause' that will empower the government to terminate their operations if they violate national security provisions or indulge in money laundering.

This is part of the new 'National Security Clearance Policy' approved by the home ministry earlier this month which also stipulates that in these sectors, positions such as chief security officers should be manned by Indian nationals only.

The 'National Security Clause' will be built into permissions granted by the Foreign Investment Promotion Board (FIPB) as a safeguard for "post-investment monitoring", a home ministry official said.

The clause will be deemed to have been violated if foreign companies investing in the defence, telecom or private security sectors are found to be involved in espionage, or have links with terrorists and foreign intelligence agencies or are involved in money laundering and financial fraud.

.......
The new policy specifies "clear triggers of national security concern" to be used while scrutinising such applications and identifies regions where foreign investment is not welcome — like areas in proximity of the border and vital installations. The national security clearance policy has a domestic component as well. "Proposals from local companies for clearances in port, telecom, civil aviation and uplinking/downlinking of TV channels/FM stations will be disposed off in 4-6 weeks.

The promoters, owners and board members of these companies seeking clearance will be asked to give self-declarations that they are not involved in any serious crimes. The home ministry will no longer go into the aspect of minor crimes. These self-declarations will be vetted by Intelligence Bureau, CBI and Enforcement Directorate and disposal of clearances will be quick," the home ministry official said.

The home ministry has also asked department of telecommunications (DoT) to set up a stateof-the-art testing lab within one year to test equipment and networking systems. This will be done to ensure there is no embedded malware or bug as 65% of telecom equipment in India is said to be of Chinese origin. The testing will be done at the initial stage of the investment as well as periodically after the foreign company sets up its base here and the DoT will draw up a Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) for this purpose.

Need to check Authenticity, but this is bound to happen after what has mission accomplished in West Pakistan and Bangladesh. With people still voting for INC in Kerala, TMC in WB, AIDMK &DMK in TN, YSR(C) & TRS in AP and TG, INC in KN. Except these states where the faithful will able to rule without backlash. They will become subdued in other areas once they see Hindu consoldiation happen. In these 5 states Hindus are still deer in the headlight phase.

an apt phrase used!

yes, can't be sure of the authenticity of the letter, but given what's been happening in those areas, can safely say that must be true. i wrote to the blog-owner's email addr., but the delivery-failed, citing 'no such user', hence have written a comment there. shall wait a reply for a day or two, and if it fails to come, will forward the link to it to NewsX, Zee News, India TV.

also, another article from the same blog (has a link to Hindu Samhati's site too)

http://www.satyablog.org/2015/06/25/a-s ... democracy/
It is said that when Draupadi modesty was violated and was prepared to curse the Kauravas, Dhritarashtra was terrified, because he understood the gravity of her curse. The combined pain and suffering of hundreds of innocent minor girls will be a curse of this country. Damned is this nation with its big talk. Damned is the democracy that cannot protect helpless minor girls. The rot in this country may be too much to cure and even if there are some bright spots, without any seeming will to address it, it is already a cursed nation.

In the above letter the part which says the father called the goons to inform them about the wedding, does not sound logical. Although a person living in such fear, cannot be expected to behave, as I would in a relatively safe place. Was the father's intention to get some money to help in the wedding or fear that if the wedding goes unannounced, there might be a backlash (akin to the scene in Gangajal movie).

The brutality and unabashed behavior in letter shows that it is worse than it is thought outside (of WB). At least UP/Bihar get more eyes but WB was hidden deep below until now to keep the People's movements untouched by public gaze.

No. The brainwashing has ensured that there is no retaliation. Hence, open field. In UP, BH expect outbursts as happened in Muzaffarnagar where women were apparently regularly targeted.

SSridhar wrote:There was big-time violence in Ambur (near Vellore, Tamilnadu) about a week back.
JJ is playing vote bank politics unfortunately. In fact, she has alliance with one of the most rabidly wahabi group - Tawhid Jamaat who are Arabianising TN muslims. TN police with proper political support are fully capable of teaching these terror vermin a strong lesson that they wouldn't forget.

Sir, Brainwashed, weakhearted are names that our dushmans give us, why should we repeat it while referring to ourselves. The only reason these kind of incidents, repeated across the country in different hues, occur is the nature of response of po-po (politician-police) structure to such incidents. And the ONLY factor that governs the response is tactical voting. Absolutely nothing will change the current situation till ebil yindoos start tactical voting. Even a moderate level of mobilisation will see massive shifts in po-po response. Mobilization cannot be achieved without organizing oneself into some form of structure. Now which is that knickerwaala organization that keeps crying hoarse "Sanghatan mein Shakti hai"?

We can wail about peacefuls behaviour, but they have us beat when it comes to Sanghatana.

How I was deported from India - Christine Mehta, The Hindu

That dumb young woman, a few years out of college, was 'utilized' by Amnesty International into doing illegal activity in India, and that too in J&K. She was caught, treated in a very civil manner (not anywhere near how the American police handled Khobragade, or that school kid of our New York diplomat or that poor old man in Alabama etc), nevertheless deported. She has now written a dumber article in The Hindu about that episode and the volume of comments is one of the highest recorded, almost all of them tearing into her.

She claims that Amnesty Intnl. was aware of the restrictions but told her that the particular provision was relatively unknown and that the UPA government would not use it against her. This suggests that inimical organizatons like AI have been close to the power centres in the Congress. She then claims she is a PIO etc giving more opportunities to tear her to pieces.

Groups like Amnesty International seem to recruit unsuspecting Indian Americans because the PIO card helps them overcome visa issues and thus slips them in surreptitiously for nefarious activities. Some of the third generation Indian Americans, like in her case, do not know enough about India and are full-blooded Americans so that it becomes easy for indulging in illegal activities while cloaked as an Indian-origin person enjoying all the benefits and accesses.
