Suspended Cop Davinder Singh Shared 'Sensitive' Information with Pakistan High Commission: Officials

Suspended Deputy Superintendent of Jammu and Kashmir Police Devender Singh allegedly shared information including "sensitive" particulars with his contacts at the Pakistan High Commission which was grooming him to get some confidential details, officials have said.

While probing Singh's role, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had cracked passwords of his "secure" social media accounts which indicated his involvement with some staffers of the Pakistan High Commission, who had since been repatriated following their role in espionage activities in the national capital, officials said here.

The NIA filed a chargesheet against Singh, at present lodged in Jammu jail, and five others on July 6 in a case of allegedly waging "war against India" with the help of Pakistan-based terror groups especially the Hizbul Mujahideen.

Before his arrest, Singh's last posting was at the crucial anti-hijacking unit of the strategic Srinagar airport. Immediately after his arrest on January 11 this year, the Centre began the process of handing over the security of the airport to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as a precautionary measure.

The 3,064-page chargesheet, filed in a Jammu court under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and various sections of the Indian Penal Code, names Singh, self-styled commander of the Hizbul Mujahideen terror group Syed Naveed Mushtaq alias Naveed Babu and his alleged network of aides.

The others named are his brother Syed Irfan Ahmad as well as the group's alleged overground worker Irfan Shafi Mir, alleged accomplice Rafi Ahmad Rather and businessman Tanveer Ahmad Wani, former president of the Line of Control Traders Association.

In the chargesheet, the NIA gave details of his role alleging that Singh was "in touch with certain officials of Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi through secure social media platforms. Investigation revealed that he was being groomed by Pakistani officials for obtaining sensitive information".

The chargesheet, which comprises 3,017 oral and documentary evidences, gives details about his contacts at the Pakistan High Commission and also about the information shared by him.

The officials said he had been sharing "sensitive information" from the latter part of 2019 but refused to divulge further details.

The officials said Singh was in close contact with a person identified as Shafqat, an assistant working with the Pakistani mission here. The official was among the 50 per cent staff which was repatriated late last month.

The officials said Irfan Shafi Mir, an advocate who worked as an overground worker for the terror group, had always been negotiating with the High Commission officials and even receiving money on a regular basis.

Before his arrest, the accused had received a huge amount for organising seminars in Jammu and Kashmir and was tasked with fuelling unrest in the union territory especially in the Kashmir valley, they said.

Mir also visited Pakistan from where he allegedly carried information for the cadres of Hizbul Mujahideen in the Valley about the future course of action, the officials said.

Singh was arrested on January 11 this year along with Naveed Babu, Rather and the advocate when their car was intercepted by Jammu and Kashmir police near Qazigund on the national highway connecting the Valley with the rest of the country.

A search of the vehicle led to the recovery of an AK-47 rifle, three pistols and a cache of ammunition and explosives. The NIA took over the case on January 17.

The investigation found that Singh, in an apparent bid to shield Naveed Babu, had shifted him along with the advocate to Jammu and arranged safe shelter for them in the city in February last year as well.

Singh used his own vehicle for the movement of the Hizbul Mujahideen terrorists and also assured them help in procuring weapons, the NIA alleged.

Maharashtra man held in Gujarat for bid to sneak into Pakistan on foot
https://www.wionews.com/india-news/maha ... oot-314003
A 21-year-old man from Maharashtra has been apprehended by the Border Security Force (BSF) in Gujarat's Rann of Kutch while he was trying to sneak into Pakistan on foot, officials said on Friday.

Police said that as per the preliminary probe, the man, identified as Zeeshan Siddique, was on his way to meet a woman in Pakistan whom he had befriended on a social media platform.

"Siddique was held by the BSF on Thursday night and later handed over to the local police. He is from Osmanabad town in Maharashtra," Kutch-East Superintendent of Police, Parikshita Rathod, said.

"Police had issued an alert after a motorcycle with Maharashtra registration number was found abandoned near Dholavira village in the Rann of Kutch on Thursday evening. The BSF later nabbed the man when he was found walking towards the border in a bid to enter Pakistan," Rathod added.

According to police sources, Siddique is an engineering student and may have reached Gujarat from Osmanabad on his motorcycle.

After his motorcycle got stuck in the sand, he started walking towards Pakistan in a bid to meet his social media friend living in that country, they said.

Customs warns Tvm, Karipur airports; NOC to be revoked if scanners not installed.
The government had installed a scanner worth Rs 50 lakhs, however, it got damaged within a few weeks. It was not repaired despite the request from customs department.

Looks like GoKL plan is to have an international airport in every district with minimum Customs surveillance facilities thus encouraging smuggling. Rather than threatening of NOC revocation a better approach was to revoke the NOC first, ensure compliance and then give it back. The entire GoKL machinery and the political setup in the state has been supportive of smuggling and hawala.

Convert to Islam or get ready to die and face Allah’s wrath: ISIS threatens nationalist Janam TV
https://www.opindia.com/2020/07/convert ... -janam-tv/

The Islamic State (ISIS) has reportedly threatened to deface the offices of a nationalist Kerala-based channel, Janam TV. Besides, it threatened to kill all employees working at the said channel. In light of the threats given by the terrorist outfit, State police chief Loknath Behra has ordered the police department to enhance the security at the offices of Janam TV.

The Kerala unit of Islamic State (ISIS) has reportedly sent threats to the channel over Instagram. The terror outfit intimidated the employees of the channel to convert to the religion of Islam or get exterminated. The message read, “Mujahideen’s Message to Janam TV! We invite you to convert to Islam or else get ready to say goodbye to the world and face Allah’s wrath and punishment.”

New modus operandi for 'hawala'; again from Kerala.
sreerudra wrote:Why is the NIA is in cleaning mode than preventing mode? What is Modi Govt doing since the Delhi riots?
The NIA is an investigative agency who comes in generally after occurrence of a crime. They are not a preventive agency. In the gold smuggling case in Thiruvananthapuram the goof ups have happened at the local Customs authorities at Thiruvananthapuram air port. The failure would be that of Airport customs followed by other agencies like DRI or ED. Either the Airport Customs was bribed to allow smuggling or they were brow-beaten by women like Swapna Suresh who seems to be having clout in the highest echelons of Kerala's (communist) state government. The government seems to be having a mindset that KL is part of UAE.

Also the current NIA focus on KL could be an after-effect of Delhi riots. It was found out that the riot was financially sponsored by KL based organisations. The KL main stream media may be over-hyping things, but what I understand is that the highest authorities of Central Govt is now monitoring the progress of the case.

The gold and drug smuggling racket has been booming since the early 2000s. Most of the plywood, cashew processing and oil extracts buisnesses in Perumbavoor and Aluva belt is just a front. Their real income is from drug trafficking, Hawala and gold smuggling. The Marwaris of Coimbatore are also deeply involved in this nexus. The funding from Ummah for building mosques and spreading wahabbism must have been routed through these people.
Scores of garment and Jewellery shops is Aluva and Perumbavoor aren't selling anything neither seem to be making any profit. The garment shops either has cheap knockoffs and seconds from Tiruppur or very old damaged stock.

To be frank, successive governments also turned a blind eye to this perhaps due to 'secular' reasons. And though it is obvious that one community's presence is very high in this field (of hawala and smuggling) they ask back another question. Who are the groups who buy the smuggled gold and other stuff? They are the jewellers who are from every trading community in India (religion no bar). But what is also happening is the use of such unaccounted money for terror funding. Perhaps it is this realization in GoI which is now forcing them to take some action. If it was an activity which indirectly and illegally helped the businessmen may be it was okay, but when the true motives changed GoI had to take some action.

Muslim, Rohingya refugees become Christians to take benefit of the Citizenship (Amendment) Act.

The Citizenship (Amendment) Act (CAA) has prompted many Afghan and Rohingya Muslim refugees to convert to Christianity so as to become eligible for Indian citizenship, central agencies have alerted the government, according to people with knowledge of the matter. Nearly 25 such cases of Afghan Muslims converting to Christianity have been flagged by the agencies as part of an ongoing assessment, they said.

The legislation, which was passed by Parliament last year and came into existence on January 10 this year, allows non-Muslim migrants from Afghanistan,Bangladesh and Pakistan to apply for Indian citizenship. The Union home ministry has yet to notify the rules for CAA 2019.According to ofcial data, there are 150,000- 160,000 Afghan Muslims living in Delhi, mainly East of Kailash, Lajpat Nagar, Ashok Nagar and Ashram.

Adib Ahmed Maxwell, who heads an Afghan church in south Delhi, told ET: “Post CAA, there has been a spurt in the number of Afghan Muslims wanting to convert to Christianity.”

Maxwell, 34, came to India at the age of 21. His parents follow Sunni Islam and live near Kabul in Afghanistan. “Most Afghans apply for asylum under the United Nations High Commissionerfor Refugees (UNHCR),” he said.

According to official data, there are 150,000-160,000 Afghan Muslims living in Delhi  , mainly East of Kailash, Lajpat Nagar, Ashok Nagar and Ashram. The community recently helped Indian agencies locate Afghan Sikh Nidan Singh Sachdeva, who was kidnapped by Taliban militants from Paktika province in eastern Afghanistan. Singh had gone to perform community service at a gurudwara in Afghanistan.

Besides, official estimates suggest there are nearly 40,000 Rohingya Muslims across India, with the highest number in Jammu and Kashmir. A large number of these migrants have been residing in India prior to 2012 and are now claiming to be from Bangladesh while taking up Christianity.

Rohingyas are from Rakhine province in Myanmar and started migrating to India in late 2011 following persecution by Myanmar armed forces.
“We have been following the Protestant mission with support of several churches in India,” said Aziz Sultani, a member of the Afghan church.

In the past six years, 4,000 people from Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Pakistan have been granted Indian citizenship. About 14,864 Bangladeshi nationals were also granted Indian citizenship after India incorporated more than 50 enclaves of Bangladesh into its territory following the boundary agreement with Bangladesh in 2014, according to the home ministry.

The six minority communities – Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhist, Parsis, Jains and Christians – from the three neighbouring countries are eligible to apply for citizenship on the grounds of religious persecution, as per the amended Act. However, the law has a cut-o date of December 31, 2014, which means only those who migrated to India before that are eligible.

Officials said the CAA can be exploited by those who are either rejected for asylum by UNHCR or are refugee Muslims who came to India before the cut-of date. “Applications of 20-25% of refugees from Afghanistan get rejected, after which they can file an appeal,” said a government official, who did not wish to be identied.

The Afghan pastors support the CAA but are of the view that the government should bring some safeguard against those converting to Christianity from Islam.

“An inquiry should be conducted into every application followed by an endorsement from the church for Afghans,” suggested Maxwell, adding that those willing to convert to Christianity from Islam are never forced. “The church allows us to study, pray and attend classes on the preaching of Christ. Once the family has taken a decision, we have to sign an affidavit and undergo baptism,” said Ghulam Sakhi, who is among those who converted to Christianity. The second reason for converting to Christianity, he said, was easier migration to Canada and European countries with the help of UNHCR. (Crying victimhood and then take full advantage of the liberal policies of the sucker countries the malsis have honed this into a fine art. This while while indulging in taqqiya to show their true colors once they gain citizenship of the kafir counties they have migrated to in hoping of establishing a caliphate)

Any idea what happened to the thousands of prisoners released by the Maharashtra govt ?
As of now there seems to be no plan to re-incarcerate them anytime soon, so they are running amok, am sure there was a bidding process for getting released. Many had huge processions celebrating their "release" even in the midst of a strict lockdown.
One of the flat owners in my building, a builder, is imprisoned but not released. He is of advanced age too. No sympathies, but just saying that low risk of flight and high risk of disease filter was not applied while releasing prisoners.

Gujarat ATS arrests three Jhakhand origin Maoists from Mahisagar and Tapi
https://www.deshgujarat.com/2020/07/25/ ... -district/
Surat: Gujarat Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS) has arrested three Maoists suspects including a woman from Tapi and Mahisagar for allegedly propagating far-left “Patalgadhi movement” and booked them for conspiracy, waging war against nation, sedition and promoting enmity between two groups (Sections 121 A, 124 A, 153 A and 120 B of IPC).

The arrested naxals have been identified as Babita Kachhap(arrested from Mahisagar), Somu and his brother Birsa Oreya, all originally from Maoism-hit state Jharkhand.

The trio are wanted in Jharkhand for serious offences like murder and kidnapping.

ATS officials say they have seized laptops and literature on banned CPI (Maoist) from suspects’ possession.

It is learnt that the trio were inciting members of Satipati community to violence against the state.

Pathalgadi is a violent extremist movement of far-left Maoists going on in the name of demanding self-rule by local gram panchayats by declaring villages as sovereign territory and restricting “outsiders”. The three arrested were part of this movement.

A phone number of accused was traced and it was found in surveillance that a conspiracy was being made against the State. Accused Samu in one of phone calls said, only tribals will live in India and not anyone else. The fight has kicked off in 2020 and it is in action in the villages. Eventually Police and CRPF camps also will be rooted out. Ration cards, Aadhar cards will be surrendered. Those opposing will be finished. Villages will believe in our customs. They will join our party. This all will lead us to our target. We will be able to do counter attack then. None would be able to raise voice against us.

In one call, a person asks about weapon and in response he is told by accused that, first one has to prove self, then only weapons will be handed over.

In another call, it is told that Police has rifle and we also will have rifle. They will have their own administration, we will have ours.

In another call, there’s a talk that doctors must not be allowed to enter the villages. Health camps against Coronavirus must be opposed.

Accused Babita Kachhap would mislead villager by misinterpreting the mechanism of gram panchayats.

Some important details have been found from a laptop recovered from the accused. It mentions call for boycott of elections. Violent has been justified in literature recovered from accused. Money transactions are also traced. There’s a mention of collection of fund from the people.

Redrawing list: 44 state and central nodal officers named to monitor UAPA cases
By Rahul Tripathi, ET Bureau Last Updated: Jul 26, 2020, 11:29 PM IST

New Delhi: To monitor financial transactions of individuals and entities booked under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA), the Union home ministry has redrawn a list of 44 state and central nodal officers, an official said. Under section 51 A of UAPA, powers of the central government are delegated to state, immigration and regulatory authorities to freeze, seize or attach funds or economic resources under the anti-terror laws.

Among the regulatory authorities— RBI, Insurance Regulatory Development Authority of India (IRDA), Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU)—are asked to nominate UAPA nodal officers, the official added. The regulators provide a list of designated individuals and entities to banks, stock exchanges and insurance companies for blocking funds, financial assets of those designated under UAPA.

After the 2008 Mumbai attacks, the anti-terror law was amended to insert section 51 A with a view to empower states and regulatory authorities to seize, freeze assets of individual and entities engaged in terrorism. The Ministry of External Affairs provides a list of individuals and entities subject to UN sanction that are further shared by MHA with state and UTs, according to the official.

“I will rape you and cut you into four pieces”: Sameer Ahmed had threatened a girl in Delhi’s Maujpur area a day before riots broke out

https://www.opindia.com/2020/08/maujpur ... pe-threat/
“He’s a hot-blooded boy, it happens,” said the family of the Muslim boy after he openly threatened to rape a girl alleges the family of the victim. The incident is of New Delhi’s Mohanpuri area in Maujpur where Hindu families live in 2-3 lanes surrounded by Muslims.

On 21 February 2020, when some were writing the blueprint of the riots which will take place in Delhi in few days’ time, a girl named Devanshi, who lived in Gali no. 8 (details changed to protect identity) took her pet dog for a walk. Mistakenly, she walks to dog till the turning of Gali no. 9 where dense Muslim locality begins. This was her biggest mistake as reaching the lane subjected her to abuses and threats of rape.

Speaking to OpIndia, Devanshi said that when she reached Gali no. 9, one Muslim boy, Sameer, who was already going somewhere on his bike, started abusing her. When Devanshi asked him to stop, Sameer said, “Don’t bring your dog to urinate here or rape you and cut you into four pieces.” In retaliation, she held her collar.

After the incident, Devanshi went back home and dialled 100 to file a complaint. PCR came and took Devanshi and her mother to Bhajanpura Police Station where they were made to sit for almost three hours. At around 10:30, IO Manoj Bhati took down the complaint but because of work overload, an FIR is not registered. Next day on 22nd February at 9 AM they were called to Bhajanpura police station. IO Manoj Bhati had gone to pick up Sameer based on Devanshi’s complaint. After two hours, when Devanshi sat at the station, Sameer’s family members along with more than 50 people from Muslim community reached the police station.

Devanshi tells OpIndia that SHO Bhajanpura, R S Meena changed his stand after a prominent member of Muslim community from the crowd met him. Earlier it was decided that an FIR will be registered on 22nd February. But now, they were pressurising the victim to ‘compromise’. Even after hours, an FIR was not registered.

Eventually on insistence of SHO Meena and IO Manoj Bhati when Devanshi agreed to compromise, then she was threatened with an FIR herself. In the Police station itself Sameer had confessed to having abused her and threatened her of rape in front of his family members and neighbours, as per Devanshi. When she saw Sameer smiling, Devanshi, however, decided against it. Now she was convinced that she was not wrong in holding Sameer’s collar on having received rape threat. ‘If I committed a crime by holding his collar, then file FIR on me as well but an FIR should be filed on my complaint too,’ she said. Speaking to OpIndia on phone, Devanshi further alleges that when she asked for a written copy of the complaint, IO Manoj Bhati threw it away in the dustbin in front of Sameer and his relatives.

On seeing this behaviour when Devanshi went to meet the ASP, the police removed her from the cabin as well. By 22nd February evening, she had already dialled 100 which was transferred to the same Bhajanpura police station. When she approached National Commission for Women (NCW), she was asked to reach out to the DCP office in Seelampur. Here, NCW directs Bhajanpura police station to file an FIR in her case.

madhu wrote: Stupid secularism has pushed us into another suicide. Just want to recheck Muslim population has it reached critical mass, as it has started all these nonsence?
Why blame secularism instead of self proclaimed freedom fighters that were nothing but British agents who wanted cancer to survive for the very reason of another partition?

^^ Agree. Gandhi and Nehru were opposed to transfer of population despite transferring 1/3rd of India's land to Muslims, which was quite stupid and did not make any sense. (Did these two worthies even ask Hindus what they wanted when they were taking these decisions on their behalf which will directly affect the fate of future generation of Hindus? There was absolutely no reference to the wishes and aspirations of Hindus in the decision making of these two crooks.) This was nothing but British agenda and these two were British agents. The more I research, the more I am convinced about this fact. Brits promoted Muslims in India, hated Subhash Bose and Savarkar and were intent on preventing an armed uprising against their rule. The Congress under Gandhi and Nehru also promoted Muslims in India, hated Subhash Bose and Savarkar and were intent on preventing an armed uprising against Brit rule.

How can their enemies, friends and objectives be exactly the same as the oppressors they were claiming to fight? The only explanation is that Gandhi and Nehru were in secret understanding with the British and acting as their proxies in return for Brits treating these two as the only legitimate voice of Indians. These two were just career opportunists and Brits acted diligently in removing all threats to their dominance by actively jailing Indians who were capturing the imagination of the Hindus (Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhagat Singh, Savarkar, Aurobindo Ghosh ...)

The Bengaluru riots point towards a well-planned conspiracy, not a spontaneous reaction
https://www.opindia.com/2020/08/the-ben ... onspiracy/
On 11th August 2020, after shopping and purchases for Sri Krishna Janmashtami, Bengaluru was preparing for the next day. Since we need to rise early for Puja, and just as we were about to retire for the day, Bengaluru came into news all over the country. Just as televisions were switched on, flames were raging on Pulakeshinagar MLA Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy’s residence.

Among shouts of Allah-hu-Akbar, a huge mob assembled were hurling stones at Akhanda Srinivasa Murthy’s home and setting it on fire. They also attacked Fire Engines that rushed to the spot. Thereafter they barged into KG Halli Police Station, the local Police station. Setting two vans parked there on fire, they began attacking the police station. Not stopping at that, the mob indulged in violence against the Cops and media too.

What was the provocation for this incident? What was the background? Who was the architect behind this mindless act? What were their objectives? Was it spontaneous or pre-planned?

On July 26, a Hindu minor girl was allegedly abducted on gunpoint from Bhikan Chak village, falling under Bachhwara police station limits, in Begusarai, Bihar, while she was returning from the market with her father.
