Just to clarify the event is old (2007 and before) and it was a VERY well known/publicized case here in US.. Remember both Hilary Clinton and Obama (then Sen) issued very strong public statements. Obama asked/wrote a letter to SOS Rice .. very strong words.. to officially condemn the ruling.

US (Dept. of State) did condemn the ruling calling something like "astonishment" but many said it still did not go far. (Did not call that it should be "changed" or something like that)

IIRC.. there was some event/conference where a few SA big-shots were meeting in US and the out-cry caught them in fairly defensive way..:

Prince Saud al-Faisal/told US reporters (he was visiting US- and other officials) that he/govt will try to change the ruling .. but lamented that it is not our (govt. fault - the court system is independent ..blah blah..).. All that pressure was the cause of Saudis saying "welcoming objective criticism that benefits the general good, away from emotional responses." (This was quite unprecedented for them so it did surprised a few).. and the King had to pardon.

BTW what surprised a few that the victim got very good support from her family and husband (at the time of attack the girl just got engaged -- and they were speaking very bravely to US media..they did have very good legal advise too... something rare in SA

For those who are curious.. just google "Qatif case" as it was came to be known then here in US.

Suicide bombing conducted by suspected member of Mohammadden Terrorist group Islamic State aka IS aka ISIL kills 31 in Turkey.

Turkey is finding out the hard way that playing “tactically brilliant” game of fomenting Mohammadden Terrorism to attack neighbouring countries, like their close brotherly allies the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, comes at the high cost of blow back. On Turkey playing footsie with ISIL : The latest sign Turkey may still be playing a double game with ISIS. Turkey should take heed of former US Secretary of State Hillary Clintons advise to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, ““You can’t keep snakes in your backyard and expect them only to bite your neighbours. Eventually, those snakes are going to turn on whoever has them in their backyard”.

Is this the first Green on Green Intra-Mohammadden suicide bombing since the end of the Mohammadden holy month of Ramadan which witnessed wholesale violence? Rather difficult to keep track with the steady drumbeat of Mohammadden religion instigated violence taking place in recent times:

US authorities allege Oregon imam assisted radicals

U.S. authorities are seeking to revoke the citizenship of an Oregon imam who they say tried to conceal past associations with radical Islamic groups.

Mohamed Sheikh Abdirahman Kariye raised money, recruited fighters and provided training for insurgent groups battling Soviet forces in Afghanistan in the 1980s, the U.S. Department of Justice says in a complaint filed Monday in U.S. District Court in Portland.

...

The immigration complaint does not include criminal charges. Government lawyers say Kariye for a time "dealt directly" with Osama bin Laden and Abdullah Azzam, the founders of al-Qaida, and he recruited sympathizers in the United States and Pakistan for an al-Qaida precursor known as Maktab Al-Khidamat.

Kariye is also accused of being a founding officer and director of the now-defunct Global Relief Foundation, which authorities say provided assistance to terror groups including al-Qaida and promoted radical jihad.

Federal authorities say Kariye failed to reveal those details in his application for citizenship, which was granted in 1998.

...

Born in Somalia, Kariye came to the United States on a student visa in 1982, according to the complaint. Between 1985 and 1988, he traveled to Afghanistan, where he went to a jihadist training camp and fought with the Afghan mujahedeen against the Soviets. He helped process foreign fighters arriving in Pakistan for travel to training camps, authorities say, working directly with bin Laden and Azzam. At some point, he was arrested for his involvement with the mujahedeen and spent four months in a Pakistani prison.

After returning to the United States in 1988, he applied for asylum and swore under oath that he hadn't left the country or been arrested.

The Soviets pulled out of Afghanistan in 1989, but the complaint alleges that Kariye returned to Pakistan in 1990 and worked for three years to recruit sympathizers and raise funds for Maktab Al-Khidamat, the precursor of al-Qaida. He was listed as the Oregon point of contact on a 1994 flyer advertising a nationwide fundraising tour for Afghan jihad.

Retrograde move by Kerala High Court to permit Mohammadden religion mandated Burqua in examination centres. Garments like Burka that conceals facial identity and conceals knowledge that objects are being carried on person should not be permitted as it will facilitate cheating by allowing impersonators to take exam in place of candidate, allow concealment for notes that aid cheating and cause danger to students taking exam by allowing suicide bombers entry into examination centres besides promoting gender biased treatment of females.

This also could represent the thin end of the wedge for demands from Mohammadden groups to ram Mohammadden religious values down throats of Non-Mohammaddens in Non-Religious areas like Education. The Gods forbid that next there will not be demands for gender segregated classes in Medical colleges with gender matching teaching staff, class breaks in Medical Colleges to accommodate Mohammadden prayer times, no examinations or classes during Ramadan month, gender matching dissection cadavers etc. etc.:

Notwithstanding Mohammaddens being in high dudgeon because ISIS flag was burned by Hindu group VHP, J&K Deputy Chief Minister Nirmal Singh was correct in saying:
"As far as the setting afire the IS flags is concerned, it is a terrorist outfit symbol," he added. "Is it possible? Burning of the symbol of terrorists and anti-national elements is the work of nationalism."

"They (VHP activists) cannot be arrested. This is not possible, why should we arrest them? Why should they be arrested?"
J&K State VHP Patron, Ramakant Dubey was also correct in asking Mohammaddens to instead demonstrate against the use of Koranic scripture by Mohammadden Terrorists on their flag:
……….. the VHP, on the other hand, asked the protesters to demonstrate against the IS for writing holy inscriptions on its flag.

"We had only burnt the IS flag. We did not know as to what was written on it in Persian,"

DOCU SHOWS HOW CLERICS KEEP MUSLIM GIRLS OFF STAGE
A documentary by a Mangalurean is set to show how Muslim girls in Dakshina Kannada schools are allegedly barred from taking part in stage shows.

Swargada Hadiyalli Kamaruttiruva Kanasugalu, a documentary by journalist Irshad Uppinangady, throws light on Muslim girls allegedly being barred from performing on stage after they cross primary school. The film portrays how a few Muslim heads in Sullia, Belthangady and Puttur supposedly restrict girls from dancing on school days and at other events.

Irshad has documented how mo hallas use Islamic tenets to reportedly stop talented girls from performing, and the documentary discusses how child rights are being violated in the name of religion.

Made by Irshad with cameraman Kiran Kumar, the short film will be released in Bengaluru by chairperson of the Karnataka State Commission for Protection of Child Rights Kripa Amar Alva, on July 25. Irshad told TOI it took nearly a year to complete the 30-minute documentary , that explains the plight of talented Muslim girls.

“I found that clerics in the villages of Sullia, Belthangady and Puttur taluks ask parents not to allow their daughters to dance or perform at any cultural programme on school days and other events. The clerics label girls dancing on stage as going “against religious tenets“ and kill their dreams. These leaders are denying girls the opportunity to showcase their talents,“ Irshad said, adding, “it is a violation of child rights and my aim is to stop such practices to allow talented Muslim girls to come forward.“

“I have spoken to Muslim girls of many government and private schools in the district. The documentary includes anecdotes of children and opinions by child rights activists and writers, who condemn the religious diktat that forbids Muslim girls from dancing on stage.I have also included versions of Muslim leaders, who argue in favour of this religious diktat,“ he pointed out.

After the retrograde judgment of the Kerala High Court permitting the wearing of Mohammadden religious mandated garment for women namely the Burka aka Burqua aka Hijab aka Niqab, during exams, our Supreme Court restores sanity by permitting the banning of the wearing of this garment for those taking exams.

I applaud this judgment by our Supreme Court. Today’s papers carry news of Turkey and Saudi Arabia bombing insurgents.

Mohammadden majority countries it seems have little inhibition in applying disproportionate and relatively indiscriminate force by use of weapons with a good prospect of collateral damage when it comes to anti-insurgency operations that involve fellow Mohammaddens. For a religion whose adherents go to great lengths to claim that theirs is “The Religion of Peace” this is indeed strange. Off course countries whose majority population follows the other two Abrahamic religions, namely Israel / Judaism and the US / Christism, also seem to have little inhibition in doing the same thing though it must be said that they do not target co-relgionists nor tout, anywhere close to the same degree as do Mohammaddens, that theirs is the ”Religion of Peace”.

Another thing to note is that Mohammadden majority countries seem to think nothing of violating the territorial integrity of other Mohammadden countries. Turkeys counter insurgency operations violated territory of Syria and Iraq while Saudi Arabia violated that of Yemen.

Hope our Ministry of External Affairs have taken note of this fact to mute the inevitable criticism from some Mohammadden majority countries when India opts to do the same in order to counter Mohammadden Terrorism:

boko haram is surpassing the ISIS daily kill count by a large margin.

nigeria govt seems unable to deal with it and might collapse at some point, with a fallout on entire west africa. places like mali, chad, niger, mauritania...on the edges of the sahara...sparse population, fierce tribes with a history of pillage, slaving and smuggling....thats where the western provinces of the new caliphate will form.

once cairo goes under, cairo, damascus, baghdad will be the main commercial centers with raqqa as the spiritual center makkah/madina type place.

makkah and madina will be bulldozed to the ground as per ISIS promise because its idolatry in their view.

so finally the world will have to face around 1 billion unified people mobilized for total war. 500 million of these will be the die hards and 500 million logistics/camp followers.

Dajjal the anti-ISIS messiah will have herculean task to roll back the tide for sure.

Reuters via NDTV reports that Gurdaspur attack Identified as a Mohammadden Terrorist event presumable on account of missile being found to have jettisoned heat shields.

Sumedh Singh Saini, Director General of Police in Punjab:
Terrorists in Gurdaspur Attack Were Muslim: Police ……………………….

"The inspection of the bodies shows that the assailants were Muslims,"
More on the Mohammadden identity of the Terrorists from Hindustan Times which besides mentioning that terrorists were uncircumscribed also talks of body hair being shaved, a practice followed by Mohammadden suicide attackers :
Gurdaspur attackers in early 20s, had trimmed beard, shaved chest, GPS devices ……………………..

Three heavily armed terrorists behind Monday’s audacious attack in Gurdaspur district were ostensibly Muslims, said official sources ……………………….

“The gunmen, in their early 20s, were found to be circumcised and had their chests shaved and beards trimmed. In most of the previous attacks we have found suicide or fidayeen attackers shave their chest before embarking on suicide mission,” said a senior government functionary who was involved in the operation to neutralise them. …………………………..

Also, when Punjab Police cornered them, they were repeatedly heard raising slogans such as “Allah-hu-Akbar” and “Pakistan Zinbaad”.

“The gunmen had two global positioning system (GPS) devices to help them move towards their intended locations. Tracking of these GPS devices has clearly indicated that the terrorists came from the Pakistani side towards Pathankot, said a senior police officer.

“This is first time that terrorists after sneaking in from Pakistan in Jammu area have come towards Punjab. There is heavy police bandobast in Jammu and Kashmir due to the annual Amarnath Yatra. That might be the reason they may have come down to bordering district in Punjab,”
Origin of Mohammadden Terrorists that attacked Gurdaspur using GPS data tracked back to our Mohammadden Terrorism fomenting Western neighbor the Islamic Republic of Pakistan:

Unique Way Found To Defeat Islamic State Jehadi Fighters 'Shopping' For Potential 'Islamic Brides'

Women Screw :D Islamic State out of Thousands of Dollars by Posing as Potential Brides :rotfl:
Three young Chechen women are in trouble  after being caught scamming Islamic State (IS) fighters out of thousands of dollars by posing as wannabe jihadi brides, according to reports in Russia.
Russian website Life News reported that the scam began on social networks, where the women would begin to contact IS militants in Syria and Iraq. If the targeted jihadi "bought" their ruse, the girl would send him pictures.
One of those involved, Maryam, told the website that one man in particular began communicating with her at first. "He began to lure me, saying: 'Do you want to come to Syria, [it is] very good.' I told him that I had no money," she said. So the man wired her 10,000 rubles ($168).[*]
[/b]

[*] Did not know that the 'warriors' were that desperate to fulfill their %$xx; needs!
According to the site, several people are currently detained in Chechnya :( for engaging in similar scams perpetrated against Islamic State militants. Those believed to have participated in them include men as well as women.[*]
[*] One easy way :D to make Sharia compliant living in 'poor' Islamic countries like Pakiland and Turkee !

X Posted from the “Pakistani Role In Global Terrorism” thread.

Washington Post discloses that Afghan Taliban head, Mullah Omar, was treated at the Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi, a fact that was raised by the then CIA Director Leon Panatta with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s then President Asif Ali Zardari (?).

Mullah Omar’s sectarian identity as a Sunni Mohammadden did not seem to come in the way of minority Nizari Ismaili Mohammadden sect who control Aga Khan University Hospital covertly providing medical treatment. Mohammadden sectarian identity it would seem is secondary to supporting violence against Non-Mohammaddens, Christist Americans in this case:
In early 2011, then-CIA Director Leon Panetta confronted the president of Pakistan with a disturbing piece of intelligence. The spy agency had learned that Mohammad Omar, the Taliban leader who had become one of the world’s most wanted fugitives after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, was being treated at a hospital in southern Pakistan.

The American spy chief even identified the facility — the Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi — and said the CIA had “some raw intelligence on this” that would soon be shared with its Pakistani counterpart, according to diplomatic files that summarize the exchange.

U.S. intelligence officials now think that Omar probably died two years later, in 2013, and Afghan officials said this week that he succumbed while being treated for a serious illness in a Karachi hospital, just as those earlier intelligence reports had indicated.

The tweets for which Hamza Kashgari was convicted by the Saudis of being critical of Islam were written on the occasion of the holiday of Mawlid an-Nabi (the prophet’s birthday):

“On Your birthday, I will say that I love the revolutionary in You, who has always inspired me. But I do not like the halo. I do not pray to You.”

“On Your birthday, I see You wherever I look. I have loved certain aspects of You, hated others, and have not understood many.”

“On Your birthday, I will not bow down before You and I will not kiss Your hand. Instead, I will shake it as equals do, and I will smile at You while You smile at me. I will speak to you as a friend and not in any other way.”

The state unit has sent a letter to party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav demanding a Parliament seat for Raheen as a token of appreciation for the trouble she suffered for 22 years during her husband’s imprisonment.

The letter signed by party state vice-president Muhammad Farook Ghosi stated: “I found Raheen Memon helpless. There could be so many helpless people in the country. We have to fight for them. mods, I am unsure whether this article goes here?
the story of Dharampal, a mulsim convert by the Arya Samaj and thereafter

http://www.dawn.com/news/1197621/the-forgotten-flippant

The mid and late 19th century was a highly charged period in India. The centuries-old Muslim Empire in the region had collapsed and the British were consolidating their colonial rule over a vast expanse teeming with millions of people belonging to a number of faiths.

Though powered by superior military might and the novel vintages of the ‘Industrial Age,’ the British colonialists somewhat struggled to determine the religious complexities found in the region — especially when a wave of reformist religious movements erupted in India just before and after the complete downfall of the Mughal Empire in 1857.

These movements emerged from within the Hindu majority as well as from among the significant Muslim and Sikh minorities of India. One of the triggers in this respect was the intensifying of Christian missionary activity that was indirectly encouraged by the British.

The reformist movements also tried to tackle ideas introduced by the British culled from the zeitgeists of the ‘Age of Reason’ and the ‘Age of Enlightenment’ that appeared in the West (in the 17th and 18th centuries).

During these eras, social and political emphasis in the West had gradually shifted away from religious / clerical authority, feudalism and tradition to reason / rationalism, empiricism and science.

In 1875 the Hindu reformist movement, the Arya Samaj, emerged. It attempted to configure Hinduism as a unified and ‘enlightened’ faith. To counter Christian and rationalist criticism of it being outmoded and even exploitative, the Samaj introduced a Hinduism that was centred entirely on the Vedas and devoid of idol worship. It accepted women’s rights and the belief in a single supreme deity, the Om. It also claimed to be superior to Christianity and Islam.

On the other hand, four strands of reformers appeared from among the Sunni Muslims. The ‘Deobandis’ were a kind of reformed believers of Sufism who advocated a more scholastic understanding of Islam as a ‘pristine faith’ that should be liberated from ‘innovations’ popular in South Asian folk Islam. They also rejected the modernist interpretations of the faith’s scriptures.

The ‘Baralvies’, however, defended the rituals and beliefs associated with the region’s folk Islam that was a hybrid of Sufism and various local traditions associated with a majority of Muslims in India.

On the other end were the Ahl-i-Hadees who were directly inspired by the puritanical and stern doctrines of Saudi ‘Wahabism’. There also emerged prolific ‘modernists’ who advocated a more rational and ‘scientific’ understanding of Islamic texts.

As frantic polemical treatises and literature flew thick and fast between these four strands; and between the Hindus and Christians; and then between Hindus, Christians and Muslims, a battle of propaganda too erupted in which reformist religious groups proudly paraded the number of converts they had managed to bag.

One of the most intriguing cases in this context was of Ghazi Mehmood that became all the rage in the early 1900s but has faded away from history books.

In 2011 a Pakistani historian of repute and researcher, Dr Ali Usman Qasmi, brought it back to life in his brilliant study of the enigmatic ‘Ahl-i-Quran’ Movement in the Punjab (that emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries).

Before Usman, Mohammad Ishaq Bhatti had penned a whole article (in Urdu) on the Ghazi Mehmood case in Al-Ai’tasam (in 2003).

Ghazi Mehmood was born into a middle-class Sunni Muslim family and exhibited a great interest in the study of Islam. As a teenager, however, he was put off by a sermon that he had heard in a mosque and increasingly became sceptical about his faith.

In 1899 he moved close to a small Hindu reformist outfit, the Dev Samaj. Though he did not convert to Hinduism, he did change his surname to Dharampal and became Ghazi Dharampal.

Unable to reconcile to some beliefs of the Dev Samaj, Ghazi broke away from the group. But soon he was successfully engaged by the Arya Samaj. In 1903, at the age of 21, he finally embraced Hinduism and began working for the Arya Samaj.

The Samaj aggressively publicised this conversion through pamphlets and Hindi newspapers and then financed Ghazi’s first book, Tark-i-Islam, in which he explained why he renounced his original faith.

He continued to publish treatises for the Samaj. He was challenged by counter-treatises that attempted to blunt his criticism. Most of these were authored by Sanaullah Amritsari, an aggressive Ahl-i-Hadees polemicist, and Hakim Nuruddin, a member of the Ahamadiyya community.

Ghazi also began publishing a Hindi monthly dedicated to promoting Arya Samaj beliefs. However, in 1913 he fell in love with a Brahmin widow and married her. This is when he had a falling out with the Samaj whose leadership did not approve of the marriage.

Distressed by the way his friends in the Samaj had responded to his marriage to a Brahmin widow, Ghazi authored an appeal to scholars of all faiths (in India) pleading which religion could guarantee the rights of his wife and children without discrimination.

He received dozens of responses. But it was the response from a judge and scholar from the Ahl-i-Hadees branch, Sulayman Mansurpuri, which appealed the most to Ghazi.

The judge wrote that he (Ghazi) was lawfully married and that his children had equal rights even if their mother chose to remain a Hindu.

This response saw Ghazi visit the judge and agree to re-enter the fold of Islam.

Ghazi now spent his scholastic energies in writing treatises against the Arya Samaj (denouncing their ‘hypocrisies’).

But he was soon at loggerheads with the Ahle-i-Hadees, founding their ideas to be too cumbersome and retrogressive. It was at this point that he was adopted by the so-called ‘Ahl-i-Quran’ Movement. The movement insisted that the Quran alone should be the focus of all law-making in Islam and rejected all other Muslim texts as being largely ‘man-made’.

So, from being a curious young Sunni Muslim, Ghazi became a poster-boy of Hindu reformists, to becoming a scholar of the Ahl-i-Hadees branch, to finally being adopted by the rationalist Ahl-i-Quran Movement.

His conversion to Hinduism and re-conversion to Islam were both highly publicised events. Interestingly, though the memory and mention of his case eventually faded away, historians who dragged it out again referred to him as Ghazi Mehmood Dharampal.

This is because though after his re-conversion to Islam he restored his Muslim surname, Mehmood, he did not discard the Hindu surname that he had adopted in 1899.

He died in 1960 at the age of 78 and was given a proper Muslim burial. Little is known what became of his beliefs after the withering away of the Ahl-i-Quran Movement in the early 1940s.

Journalist Minhaz Merchant pillories attempts to provide a burqa to Mohammadden Terrorism by creating false equivalence titles such as Hindu Terrorism:
Bottom line: Terror truly has no religion. LTTE terrorists in Sri Lanka were Hindus. Irgun terrorists in Israel were Jews. Red Army Faction terrorists in Germany were Christians. The difference lies in degree and scale. Islamist terror is a global scourge. The others are or were local. Treating them on par is blinding oneself to reality.
From Daily O at the below link:

Busting Hindu terror and other myths : The attempt to seek equivalence between Islamist and saffron terror is as fraudulent as Pakistan's constant bid to achieve 'terror-equivalence' with India.

UN confirms authenticity of ISIL 'sex slave price list'

Wed Aug 5, 2015

The United Nations has verified the authenticity of a price list the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group uses to trade the people it has captured as sex slaves.

Special Representative of the UN Secretary General on Sexual Violence in Conflict Zainab Bangura made the harrowing revelation that the sex slave price list, which was first published online in November 2014, is real.

The UN had received a copy of the menu, which is being offered to the Takfiri militants and others aiming to purchase sex slaves, in April this year, but the UN had not confirmed its authenticity until now.

Below is a scanned copy of the ISIL sex slave price list obtained and verified by the UN.

"The girls get peddled like barrels of petrol," Bangura said in an interview with Bloomberg, adding, "One girl can be sold and bought by five or six different men. Sometimes these fighters sell the girls back to their families for thousands of dollars of ransom."

According to the so-called sex slave menu, in which the prices are in Iraqi Dinars, the Takfiri militants can purchase slaves between the age of 1 and 9 for about USD 165, rates for adolescent girls are USD 124 and it is less for women over 20. Women over 40 are sold at a cost of as little as USD 41.

The UN official said the trading of salves is conducted in an organized and systematic way.

"They have a machinery, they have a program," Bangura said, adding, "They have a manual on how you treat these women. They have a marriage bureau which organizes all of these ‘marriages’ and the sale of women. They have a price list."

Bangura visited Syria, Iraq, Turkey, Lebanon and Jordan from April 16 to 29 and interviewed girls and women who had escaped ISIL captivity and survived sexual violence. The UN official said on May 7 that ISIL offers Syrian and Iraqi girls for sale by putting them on show "stripped naked" in "slave bazaars."

Bangura called on the UN Security Council to take measures to counter such crimes, expressing concern about the children born of rape. She also said such children create "a generation of stateless children" who could provide fertile ground for future extremism.

Mohammadden Terrorist originating in the Islamic Republic of Pakistan who was captured in Udhampur is very explicit about what he was doing in India. "I came to kill Hindus" was his comment:

Islamic State 'Sex Slave Rate List ' Is True Per United Nations

After circulating for almost a year, the UN has finally confirmed the authenticity of the Islamic State Sex Price list being offered to their fighters and other men trying to purchase sex slaves as young as one for $165.
The price tariff is simple – the older they are the cheaper they are. All prices are quoted in Iraqi Dinars but US dollar equivalent shows that radical fighters can get children aged 1 to 9 for about $165, prices for adolescent girls are $124 and it’s less for women over 20. Women over 40 cost as little as $41.

Not in good taste, but just wondering if the price list makes a distinction between the 'quality ' of the 'commodities' being imported from different countries .
