Anti-Hindu USCIRF: Sex, crime, bigotry in the name of religious freedom

https://www.sundayguardianlive.com/news ... us-freedom

Does anyone have any details on this:

"Emboldened by these developments, Christian groups which were funded by American and British Baptist churches and openly supported by the evangelical Christian and former American President Jimmy Carter ratcheted up their activities and issued fatwas calling for a ban on Hindu and Buddhist religious activities in India’s northeastern states"

These women say they had miscarriages. Now they're in jail for abortion.
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/miscarriag ... -salvador/

More than 140 women have been charged under El Salvador's total ban on abortion since 1998, incarcerated for up to 35 years in some of the world's most notorious prisons. Like Manuela, many say they never had an abortion, but instead claim that after suffering a miscarriage they were wrongfully convicted when their doctors accused them of intentionally terminating their pregnancies.

For more than 20 years, El Salvador — a tiny Central American country struggling with brutal gang violence and a record-high homicide rate — has completely banned abortion, including in situations when the procedure could save the patient's life. The total ban was lobbied for by the Roman Catholic Church, an institution that became particularly powerful in the country after its devastating civil war. In 1998, the church was successful in cementing the ban into El Salvador's constitution, adding an amendment to say that "life begins at conception."

I only report the facts, ma'am:

https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/202 ... angelicals

....when Trump lifted the Bible, Horbowy and his family felt overcome spiritually.

“My mother started crying. She comes from Pentecostal background, and she started speaking in tongues. I haven’t heard her speak in tongues in years,” he said. “I thought, look at my president! He’s establishing the Lord’s kingdom in the world.”

Its run by Karunakar Sugguna, who was born in a Christian family but did a Ghar Wapsi to his ancestors Hindu religion and now a staunch critic of missionaries.

Native American Activists Topple Statue Of Canonised Catholic Missionary Who Led Colonization, Conversion Of California
https://swarajyamag.com/insta/native-am ... california

A statue of Junipero Serra, the 18th century Catholic saint known for his instrumental role in Spanish colonization of California, was toppled in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday (Jun 20), Los Angeles Times reported.

Serra introduced the mission system which converted Native population to Catholicism and European culture. Catholic Church canonized Serra in 2015 despite opposition from American Indian groups for his role in aiding the Spanish settlement of the west coast.

The statue of Serra, holding aloft a cross and bearing a model of a Spanish mission, was installed in the downtown area by the Knights of Columbus in 1932.

During another protest in San Francisco, a group of demonstrators brought down another statue of Serra that had been installed in the Music Concourse of Golden Gate Park on Friday (Jun 19) evening.

As monuments are removed from our public spaces through cathartic action some impose a narrative of violence onto these actions but in reality, the violence occurred long before that and continues today,” representatives of the Tataviam and Tongva Tribal Nations said in a statement. “The violence has been memorialized in these objects. The violence occurred through the installation of these symbols of domination and dehumanizing actions.”

But it was only in seminary, in his mid-20s, that Jones says he learned the full truth about Southern Baptists' white supremacist roots.
..

Baptists' true colours, though naysayers may argue it's about southern Baptist only.

Unmasking Care India: A Board member with accusations of involvement in fraud, soliciting funds in the name of GoI and funding evangelical organisations
https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/care-in ... -daughter/
‘Civil Society’ organisations often use the veneer of humanitarian efforts and charity to engage in wholesale fraud. As much as NGOs and foundations would like to claim otherwise, too many of them engage in behaviour that cannot be deemed ‘civil’. We have reported extensively on such organisations, In this report, we shall discuss the background of one such organisation, Care India.

Evangelism Through Bureaucracy Is The New Silent ‘Breaking India’ Force: Sooner Action Is Taken, The Better
https://swarajyamag.com/ideas/evangelis ... the-better

Something strange and disturbing has been caught in Indian social media.

‘Mission Kaali’ is a social media handle which has been monitoring and documenting how evangelist individuals and organisations violate laws in India and engage in outright abuse of human rights.

One aspect of this phenomenon this handle has been documenting is how powerful bureaucrats in India have been misusing their positions of power, as evangelists, and for evangelists.

Pulling a plug on God
In a landmark ruling, Israeli regulatory authorities announced on Sunday that they are shutting down an evangelical Christian television station for not disclosing in its license application that its true agenda was missionizing Jews.

The Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Council notified Hot, the Israeli cable television provider, that its new Hebrew-language channel would be taken off the air within the next seven days.

Shelanu, a new channel set up by God TV – one of the largest Christian broadcasting networks in the world (based in YooS) – in partnership with the Israeli Messianic community, had been broadcasting on cable television since the end of April. It is very rare for the council to take a channel off the air, and it is the first time a Christian channel broadcast in Israel is being shut down...

https://www.opindia.com/2020/07/arunach ... the-enemy/
The issue of hurting religious sentiments has again surfaced in Arunachal Pradesh.
