Six more mutilated bodies found from Chashma barrage
MIANWALI: Police recovered six more mutilated bodies from Chashma barrage on Saturday, raising the toll to 34 in 40 days.
Panic has gripped the area following strange turn of events.
The bodies also included two women. Most of the deceased were severely tortured and their bodies found packed in gunny bags.
Local police says that each time they find a body they send a report to the Punjab government, with the description and picture.
Police said only one of the bodies found has been identified so far.

There were other reports which suggested that the 34 bodies found, so far, were of KP/FATA civil war who were tortured by the Deep State and then dumped in the water.

Badmash Family On The Defensive
We have done nothing wrong', PM Nawaz Sharif’s family reacts to leak
AFP | Dawn.com ]

ISLAMABAD: After the Sharif family was named in the Panama Papers ─ one of the biggest leaks in history ─ Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's son, Hussain Nawaz Sharif, told Geo that his family had done "nothing wrong" as they defended their ownership of offshore companies.
Among those named are three of Nawaz's four children ─ Maryam, who has been tipped to be his political successor; Hasan and Hussain, with the records showing they owned London real estate through offshore companies administrated by the firm.
"Those apartments are ours and those offshore companies are also ours," Hussain said in comments aired by the channel Monday.
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Monday claimed that the revelations in the Panama Papers vindicated his party's stance and reiterated his call for fresh elections and probes by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Federal Board of Revenue, and the Election Commission of Pakistan.
Regarding Imran's call for NAB to investigate the matter, Hussain Nawaz said "We voluntarily present ourselves before it or any other judicial and investigative institution in Pakistan."

I vaguely recall, that it was in the nineties, that Hussein Sharif, was "exported" to Londonistan under the guise of a student visa to start managing the loot that was being stored there!

this behavior is par for the course for bakis!

Despite the political rancour underlining Indo-Pak ties, a feeling of warmth and conviviality always shone out in exchanges between the people of the two countries. Is the situation changing now?.

An Indian diplomat representing India's high commissioner was ridiculed and humiliated this week in Islamabad in the presence of top international diplomats with the host accusing him? of underpaying for his presence there

The Kehkeshan Hall of Islamabad's swanky Serena Hotel was teeming with diplomats on Thursday evening. The occasion was Oxbridge Lecture organised by Pakistan's Oxford and Cambridge Society. They had gathered to listen to Afghanistan's ambassador to Pakistan Omar Zakhilwal on Af-Pak relations. Among them was an Indian diplomat representing India's high commissioner to Pakistan Gautam Bambawale.
While introducing the speaker, the chairman of the Society, Irshad-Ullah Khan, started to talk "on a lighter note" about the drop-box voluntary donation of Rs 500 and above from all guests. Leaving his audience bemused, Rhodes Scholar Khan whipped out his wallet saying he had with him an Indian Rs 10 currency note which he claimed had been contributed by the Indian guest when he attended the last Oxbridge Lecture in February this year, again representing india's high commissioner.
"How do you expect to resolve the Kashmir issue with a Rs 10 contribution," Khan said calling out the Indian diplomat from the audience.
Even as Zakhilwal waited to take the floor, Khan went on to talk about how his staff had been " more vigilant this time and used cameras to establish that the diplomat? had contributed only Rs 100" on this occasion. A businessman and poet, Khan is a very popular figure in Pakistan. The invite to the guests clearly said that the donation was voluntary and was meant to meet the Lecture expenses.
It didn't end there though. After the lecture by Zakhilwal, Khan thought it proper to bring up India's contribution again saying he had finally found the Rs 10 note in his wallet and displayed it to the audience. He went on to say that the Oxford and Cambridge Society would keep it as a souvenir from the Indian high commission.
The humiliation has stunned India's diplomatic community. India believes that what Khan did was "intentional" and an act of frustration, or even intimidation at a time when the Pakistan government is under pressure to ensure Kashmir remains the centrepiece of its engagement with India. Indian authorities say the diplomat on both occasions had dropped Rs 500 into the box. The diplomat in fact accosted Khan after the event and, as a source put it, thanks him for his "kind words and? warm hospitality".
"Diplomats from either countries regularly work in hostile conditions but this kind of humiliation is rare. And he was not there in his personal capacity," said a source here.
India and Pakistan diplomats, even at the level of high commissioners, have come to expect occasional harassment? as an occupational hazard. Last year, a club in Karachi refused to host Indian high commissioner. Never before though in recent times, as sources said, Indian diplomats have felt so strongly about the humiliation meted out to the diplomat at the Oxbridge Lecture in full view of Islamabad's diplomatic community.

I can't understand why the Indian Diplomat is being criticized for grasping the true value of the Paki. The Indian Diplomat should have said, he gave 10 Rs, because he didn't have chhutta (small change) with him.

Exposed By Panama Papers: List of Pakistani politicians, businessmen and judges who own offshore companies
LAHORE (Staff Report) – The world is in shock after exploring a tiny fraction of Panama Papers, 2.6 terabyte confidential leak in total, published by International Consortium of Investigative Journalists (ICIJ). The matter is worth investigation as well, as thousands of offshore companies were established in cooperation with Mossack Fonseca (MF) with the purpose of evading taxes and facilitating money laundering.

Related – Panama Papers: Benazir Bhutto’s oil firm paid huge bribes to Iraqi President Saddam Hussain for contracts

When it comes to the Pakistani owners of these questionable firms, people from every segment of life appear to be involved. The published documents suggest that over 200 Pakistanis were directly involved in these shady businesses, and more names might soon pour in with thousands of documents yet to be made public.

Interestingly, although the papers feature businesses from 1977 to 2015, the Pakistani names start appearing in years after 1990.
Which Pakistani owns most offshore companies?

Media reports mainly focused on the companies owned by Sharif family, but surprisingly they are not the ones to own most offshore companies from Panama Papers. It is the Saifullah family of Lakki Marwat city of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The family owns at least 34 offshore companies in the British Virgin Islands, Seychelles, Hong Kong, Singapore and Ireland.

These companies are named after Senator Osman Saifullah, Salim Saifullah, Anwar Saifullah, Humayun Saifullah, Javed Saifullah, Dr Iqbal Saifullah and Jehangir Saifullah.
Politicians and their relatives:

In Pakistan, the debate related to offshore companies from Panama Papers is largely confined to political figures only, which is the main profession of the country’s most powerful families.

Related – Panama Papers: Hussain Nawaz accepts offshore companies ownership, says businesses not illegal

According to Panama Papers, some offshore companies owned by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s son Hussain Nawaz and daughter Mariam Safdar alias Maryam Nawaz Sharif; and assassinated Chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Benazir Bhutto, her close aide Senator Rehman Malik and her nephew Hassan Bhutto. Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s relatives Ilyas Mehraj and Samina Durrani also feature in the list. However, interestingly, no company was found to be registered in names of Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif themselves.

Other political names include Pakistan Muslim League(Q) President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain’s close relative Waseem Gulzar and Zain Sukhera – a close friend of former Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani’s son. Sukhera was also co-accused in Hajj Corruption Scandal along with Gilani’s son.
Businessmen:

Most of Pakistani names featured in Panama Papers are businessmen and include almost every renowned businessman of the country, including:

Related – American corporations, politicians mysteriously missing from Panama Papers

Sadruddin Hashwani and son Murtaza Hashwani of Hashoo Group
Malik Riaz Hussain’s son Ahmed Ali Riaz of Behria Town
Hussain Dawood of Engro Corporation Limited
Abdullah family (Yousuf Abdullah, Shahid Abdullah, Nadeem Abdullah, Amer Abdullah) of Sapphire Textiles
Gul Muhammad Tabba of Lucky Textiles
Shahid Nazir of Masood Textiles
Shehbaz Yasin Malik and family of Hilton Pharma
Sultan Ali Allana of Habib Bank Limited
Shahid Nazir and family of Masood Textile Mills
Bashir Ahmed and Javed Shakoor of Buxly Paints
Dr. Mehmood Ahmed of Berger Paints
Azam Sultan of ABM Group of Companies
Aqueel Hassan and his brother Tanwir Hassan of Pizza Hut (Pakistan)
Zulfiqar Paracha of Universal Corporation (Pvt) Ltd
Abdul Rashid Soorty and family of Soorty Enterprise

Media owners:

Several owners of Pakistan based media groups were also found owning offshore companies. Among them Zulfiqar Lakhani, who owns Lakson Group and Express media group, was on top. Gohar Ejaz, who maintains an image of property tycoon and is financier of Channel 24 as well, was also in the list. Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman of Jang and Geo Group also established an offshore company in early 2000s.
Judges:
Many lawyers and top judges also own offshore firms, according to Panama Papers. The name of Justice Farrukh Irfan, currently serving in Lahore High Court (LHC), was also on the list while Justice(retd) Malik Qayyum is also among owners of offshore companies.

Incredibly,it is hard to believes that no Faujis are included in the the above list ; either it could be press censorship, or some investigating journalism needs to be done for these number 1 corrupters!

Paki Ex Minister Blames RAW For Inclusion Of His Name In Panama Papers !
Rehman Malik calls Panama Papers RAW’s conspiracy against him
SLAMABAD (Staff Report) – Reacting to allegations leveled against him in huge documents leak, senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Senator Rehman Malik has termed Panama Papers a conspiracy of Indian intelligence agency RAW (Research and Analysis Wing) to him in a controversy.
In a statement, Malik said that information mentioned in Panama Papers is completely false and based on inadequate evidences.

He, however, has accepted that he owned Petrofine FZC oil company, further adding that it was not involved in any shady business. It was a United Arab Emirates (UAE) firm and worked in accordance with the local laws, he explained.
According to documents shared by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists, Pakistan’s two-time Prime Minister and Chairperson of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Benazir Bhutto -who was assassinated by Taliban in 2007- was also among the clients of Mossack Fonseca (MF) along with her close aide Senator Rehman Malik and nephew Hassan Ali Jaffery Bhutto.
The leak said that Bhutto and her partners paid huge bribes to then Iraqi government -led by President Saddam Hussain- in 2000 to win oil contracts for their Sharjah based company Petrofine FZC and later established a company named Petroline International Incorporation in British Virgin Islands in 2001.
In the later year, 2006, Pakistan’s National Accountability Bureau (NAB) also claimed that Petrofine FZC was owned by Benazir Bhutto but she and her party, PPP, strongly dismissed the charges and called it an political conspiracy against them

RAW has long been the convenient "whipping boy" of Paki politics

Bride strangled to death by groom on wedding night in Jacobabad
SUKKUR:
A bride was allegedly strangled to the death by her husband on the night of their wedding in a suspected case of ‘honour killing’, Jacobabad police said on Saturday.
Meanwhile, sources in the area speculated that Qalandar Bux killed the bride because she was “not a virgin”, while others claim that a heated argument erupted between the newly-wed couple regarding a delay in the wedding ceremony due to certain customs.
Area police have since carried out several raids but have failed to make any arrests.

Pathankot attack staged by India, believe Pak sleuths - ToI
After reports from Pakistan last week that the joint investigation team (JIT) was not convinced about the evidence provided by NIA in the Pathankot attack, Pakistan media reported Monday that the JIT was actually now convinced that the encounter had been stage-managed by Indian authorities.

'Pakistan Today' quoted a member of JIT, which had last week visited the Pathankot airbase, to say that the attack was nothing but "vicious propaganda" against Pakistan as Indian authorities did not have any evidence to back their claims. The report said that the JIT will submit its report on the attack to Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif in the next few days.

The report also had the anonymous JIT official talking about the murder of NIA officer Tanzil Ahmed. "The brutal murder of a Muslim investigator is evidence that the Indian establishment wants to keep the matter under wraps," said the JIT official in the report.

According to the report, NIA did not cooperate with the JIT during the latter's visit to India. This is contrary to what NIA has told reporters in India. Government sources in India said Pakistan officials were probably under pressure to to say what they were saying. "A section of the establishment may not appreciate reports in Indian media that Pakistani officials were going back home convinced that the attack was perpetrated by Pakistan nationals", said an official here [New Delhi].

The JIT officials are said to have told 'Pakistan Today' that Indian authorities also failed to establish that the attackers entered from Pakistan. "Within hours of the assault, all the attackers were shot dead by the Indian security forces. However, the Indian authorities made it a three-day drama to get maximum attention from the world community in order to malign Pakistan," the report added.

We will wait for official reaction from GoP, but, if it turns out to be true it can't be surprising, can it?

Pathankot attack: Investigation team admits four terrorists were from Pakistan

The Pakistani Joint Investigation Team (JIT) admitted on Thursday that the four terrorists who attacked the Pathankot Indian Air Force base were from Pakistan, according to The Indian Express report. The investigation team was at National Investigation Agency (NIA) headquarters in New Delhi to question witnesses connected to the attack that took place on 2 January.

Four days later ........

Pakistan JIT says Pathankot attack was drama staged by India to malign Islamabad: Report

Just a few days after the Pakistani Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Pathankot terror attack admitted that the four terrorists who attacked the Pathankot Indian Air Force base were from Pakistan, the JIT has said that the Pathankot attack had been staged by India, according to a Pakistani media report.
The JIT "says the attack was a drama staged to malign Pakistan," according to a report in Pakistan Today. It further said that the JIT report, which will be submitted to Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif in the next few days, has even concluded that Indian authorities had prior information about the terrorists.

Pak. unlikely to be invited for Chabahar summit - Kallol Bhattacharjee, The Hindu
Pakistan is likely to be kept out from the Chabahar free trade summit Iran is organising in May, the Director General of Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) confirmed to The Hindu on Monday.

“27 countries have been invited to participate in the summit in Chahbahar. Some non-littoral Indian Ocean states have also been invited. But Pakistan is not on the list,” K.V. Bhagirath, Secretary-General of the IORA said over telephone from Mauritius.

It is learnt that Pakistan was not invited even for an informal representation. Mr Bhagirath, however, said that though the summit was being supported by a coordinating cell of the IORA in Tehran, the bulk of the work was being done by the Iranians.

India scaled up its investment in Chabahar following Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari’s visit to Iran last year. Geopolitics specialist Sanjay Chaturvedi of Panjab University, who has been invited by the IORA for the summit, said it would be the ideal occasion for Iran to showcase the port.

“Iran wants to present Chabahar as a new door to the newly revived Iranian economy. Pakistan has an alternative in the Gwadar port but Chabahar has a broader appeal unlike Gwadar which is dedicated to Chinese energy needs,” he said.

India's growing military spending threatens Pakistan, says NSA Janjua - DAWN
India's heavy military spending and acquisition of weapons threatens Pakistan and its efforts for regional peace, said National Security Adviser Lieutenant General (retd) Nasir Khan Janjua on Tuesday.

Speaking at a seminar titled 'Pakistan's role in promoting global peace and security' in the capital, Janjua said that Pakistan is a peace-loving country but its efforts to promote regional peace are hindered by Indian desire to acquire military and strategic weapons.

He was of the view that the two neighbouring countries are nuclear armed and cannot live in an environment of hostility towards each other, especially when both are fighting terror on their soil.

"Western powers desire better relations with India due to a shared anti-China policy despite the fact that a peaceful region and world is in Chinese interest and China has no ill will towards any of these countries," said the former military man.

Janjua’s statement coincided with the release of an annual report by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI), which listed the 15 highest spending nations on military. India featured number six on the list, up a rank from its position of the previous year.

Data revealed by Sipri puts Pakistan’s military expenditure in 2015 at $9.5 billion, higher than the previous year’s $8.7 billion.

India's military spending in 2015 however, came in at $51.3 billion, an increase of 0.4 per cent over the previous year.

We should get on with on with our lives after having proved the point once again that the pakis are incorrigible and the international players interested in this region cannot fault us for having tried.

Modi and Doval are not duffers not to have seen this playing out the way it has.

SSridhar Ji :

Apologies if this is the wrong Thread but I give below an Article about Defence Spending in 2015 by SIPRI :

Global military spending rises to nearly $1.7 trillion amid Mideast conflicts
The United States, with $596 billion in defence spending, and China, with an estimated $215 billion, led all countries in 2015, the annual report by SIPRI said. Saudi Arabia, however, came in third with spending of $87.2 billion — double what it spent in 2006, according to the report. That fueled the first worldwide increase in military spending since 2011.
India's Economy is AT LEAST One Third of China, which, is India's main Threat and Cwapistan is just an irritating flea. As such India's Annual Defence Spending could be in the region of US$ Seventy Billion i.e. about Eight Times Cwapistan's as India's Economy is over Nine Times that of Cwapistan. I believe the Cwapistani latest Annual Defence Budget will be US$ Nine Billion.

There seem to be some pushes and pulls on every Indian PM that is not obvious to us. I simply cannot understand how someone like Doval would be made such a fool of. Pakis are playing the game with precision. So your suggestion of shutting down singing creeps will be next to impossible. Because TSP will put out their pee-pee contact advocates in India, and it will be on full force should ModiJi attempt something like that. Furthermore, there will be some untoward incident like ink throwing or something, and thats enough, the "intolerance" bandwagon will be on full throttle.

Going by how Modi operates, its not that Doval/Modi have been befooled--they are far too smart and experienced for this. It's more likely that they want to give a fair chance to Pakistan to mend its way before it is 'disciplined' by an external force.

Indian Engineers Helping Operate Pakistani Sugar Mills
Jehangir Tareen first brought Indians to Pakistani sugar mills
LAHORE (Staff Report) – Spokesman for Ramzan Sugar Mills has strongly dismissed a report of Samaa TV which claimed that at least two Indian nationals working at Ramzan Sugar mills were arrested on the basis of leads provided by detained RAW officer Kulbushan Yadav.
In a fact sheet issued to media, the spokesman said that some Indians were working at the sugar mills but till date no one from security institutions has contacted them or their company of any development neither the consultants.
“All of the workers were issued visas by Pakistani High Commission in New Delhi after due security checks from relevant agencies since they first started working in Pakistan,” the statement said.
Revealing more details of Indians working in Pakistan, it said that there are 4000+ Indians working in Pakistan in different industries and sectors.
DG ISPR Asim Bajwa in a joint press conference with Information Minister, Parvez Rasheed, had also categorically denied that any Indian agents or engineers were ever arrested from any sugar mill of the country.
If this report is to be believed, Indians are going out of the way to help repair the broken Paki Economy. On one excuse or the other, they have become a parasite/ nuisance/ headache to the whole world community for the last 65+ years; let them stand on their own feet!

There are quite a few Indian engineers working in Sugar mills in Pakistan. Especially those owned by Nawaz Sharif. They are treated royally and are even exempted from reporting to the police station. These stories are true (well, no Paki knows what a nut or bolt it, unless they are making a soosai belt, who is going to run their mills).

The rich, business and political class in Al-Bakistan spew hatred for India in public, in private they have many joint business ventures and arrangements like these.

The Leather finishing industry and Gutkha Sector in Pakistan owe its very existence to Indian expertise and know-how. A lot of Indian made machinery is sought in the Sugar, Cement and Textile industries. This goes to pakistan via Dubai.

We should understand this. It is certainly not that NM and AD are giving a 'fair chance' to the Pakistanis. This is an expected reaction, if at all it is true.Mind you, these recent revelations in the Indian MSM are attributed to quotes made by "sources" to Paki media. Hear-say whole squared!! And couple it with the state and questionable journalistic tradition of the Indian MSM of late!! It IS NOT an official statement. Be that as it may, even if this ends up becoming the official position, you can be rest assured this is one of the expected outcomes. And remember, there is another person playing this out besides NM and AD. Jaishankar. Do not forget him. And there are, I am sure, a few more - who cannot be named. That is all I have to say. [Added later: It IS A GIVEN that the Pakistanis WILL NOT change their ways. There is too much at stake for them in this, for them to change]

I have said this before and say this again: the invitation of the PJIT to Pathankot was not because NM and AD lost their spine somewhere along the way. Take that for what it's worth.

And please understand this: These are people (I am referring to NM and AD) who are not wet behind the ears and are certainly not newbies to political play. You HAVE to be seen to be doing something while some other things happen unseen. I am not talking about some super-hero escapades in the background or to some 'chanakyan theory'. It is the way the cookie has to crumble; is being made to crumble.

We, members of this august forum, wax eloquence about "strategy". Pray, tell me, when is 'strategy' ever a straight line between Point A and Point B?? The simplest analogy I can think of: Many of you, I presume, have played chess. From your opening move until check mate, how many of you play a game without losing any of your pieces?????? Sometimes you lose a rook or a horse, other times you lose a pawn. But the one thing in your mind is: the end game. The check-mate.

Would it be too much to ask if I were to ask you to look at this as a chess game? Multiplied exponentially because of the many other state interests involved in this; the U.S and the whole three-and-a-half (BRF nomenclature) lot. Where some of the pieces that you move impact pieces outside of your board..and the pieces that move in some other person's (in this case, a state's) board impact your moves!

I am sure some of you manage lines of business in the domain you are specialists in. How many times have you personally experienced your own strategy as a straight line from Point A to Point B? And when you took decisions, be it lay-offs or walking away from a deal (how so ever such a temporary move hurt you personally), how would it feel if your team just lampooned you, walked away in a huff or talked you down in front of the C-suite?

Don't get so dis-heartened and assume that the short term moves are the longer term trend. Stay the course. The end game is what is important. We will encounter losses on the way. But in the larger interest of securing this civilisation, and this nation, it is but a small price to pay.

I hope so. But I feel ISI just outsmarted India. ModiJi and DovalJi did indeed give TSP a chance, and also wanted to give an upper hand to Badmaash. Their strategy was to give a new dimension or shall we say change terms of engagement to discussion on terror. There was never a chance that TSP will own up to its role in Patankot. It was all about playing the civvies Vs military/ISI angle. A dubious proposition IMO, but nevertheless, that was ModiJi's gamble. ISI basically punctured all this (and recall the Indian "spy" angle). Without re-iterating the obvious, if India were powerful enough to deal with TSP on its own, this kind of mischief would have been dismissed with the contempt it deserves and bring TSP to book.

But the real judge and jury here are the US-led whites who will now say "both sides" behave. And the Indian opposition eunuchs are dutifully following up on their own just as the ISI doctors ordered. This is the sad part.

PM (Nawaz) orders judicial commission to probe his family after Panama data leak

My take on the above "announcement" :
1. Members of the commission will be screened and will only be selected for appointment if they are sympathetic to Badmash & Co.
2. Evidence and /or documents will be forged/ altered/ misinterpreted to whitewash and stall the process and allegations will be made that the whole thing is a "conspiracy against Pakistan"
3. Frequent updates will be published to fool the Aam Abduls
4. The commission will die a "natural death" similar to the Mumbai and Pathankot probe
5. If, any appointee dances to a different tune during the proceedings, and takes an objective and serious approach to the whole probe, and does not take directions from Badmash & Co, he will be forthwith replaced and/or terminated and a campaign will start to smear him.

Policy Of "Good Jihadists" And "Bad Jihadists" Not Working - Paki Journalist
Crunch Time for Pakistan’s Extremist Battle
Devastating recent attacks raise the stakes for the government.
By Kunwar Khuldune Shahid
April 05, 2016

On the last Sunday of March, a bomber detonated his suicide jacket inside Lahore’s Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park ...
Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) faction Jamaat-ul-Ahrar claimed responsibility for the attack, citing that their intended target were Christians and Easter celebrations.
On the same day, March 27, riots erupted in Pakistan’s capital as supporters of Mumtaz Qadri took to the streets. Qadri, a former police commando had been hanged on February 29 for the murder of former Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer, who had called for reforms in the blasphemy law and supported Asia Bibi, a Christian woman believed to be falsely convicted over blasphemy.
The rioters in Islamabad staged a sit-in near the Parliament House for four days, with a set of 10 demands, including official recognition for Qadri as a “martyr,” immunity for anyone killing in the name of Prophet Muhammad, no reform in the blasphemy laws, and the execution of Asia Bibi and others convicted of blasphemy.
In January Jamaat-ul-Ahrar orchestrated the Bacha Khan University attack in Charsadda, killing more than 20 students and staff. The BKU attack was another manifestation of the Taliban going after soft targets.
The Gulshane-e-Iqbal blast was the Jamaat-ul-Ahrar’s third prominent attack in Lahore in 18 months, following the Wagah border bombing in November 2014, and the Youhanabad church attacks in March last year, when Christians were targeted again in the Punjab chief minister’s constituency. Targeting minorities in the PML-N’s hub signifies the Taliban’s intent to test the resolve of the ruling party that has passed progressive legislations recently with regards to minorities and women.
Meanwhile, Jamaat-ul-Ahrar has also pledged allegiance to the so-called Islamic State, also known as ISIS.( demolishing the govt's contention that there is "no ISIS" in Pakistan)
Two days before the Lahore attack Iranian President Hassan Rouhani arrived in Islamabad. Among discussions pertaining to energy, trade and security cooperation, Pakistan Army Chief General Raheel Sharif took up with Rouhani the issue of recently captured Indian Navy officer Kulbushan Jadhav...
While Rouhani denied discussing the alleged Indian spy with Pakistani officials, the government and ISPR jointly released a video on Tuesday showcasing Jadhav accepting that he’s an agent of Indian intelligence agency RAW and that he had been sent to fuel the “insurgency in Balochistan.”
Even though New Delhi has accepted that Jadhav is a navy official, the video betrays more than a hint of ambiguity. Jadhav claims that he was the contact man for “RAW Joint Secretary Anil Kumar Gupta,” when no senior official in the Indian intelligence agency goes by this name.
As earlier reports indicated, the video was indeed a third class production
With the military operation in Punjab, Pakistan has entered a decisive phase in its fight against the jihadists. But the government’s simultaneously ongoing clash against the Islamist political parties and protestors is arguably more crucial in winning the ideological war against religious extremism.
At a time when sectarian outfits like LeJ, Kashmir bound groups like JeM, and the Pakistani and Afghan Taliban are all uniting, with many factions gravitating towards ISIS, Pakistan needs to realize that South Asia has a common enemy. Jihadist groups have long ceased to differentiate between one another, and are uniting in a common goal. The Pakistani government and establishment must show similar unity, and drop the decades old policy of “good” and “bad” jihadists.
The above opinion article does not take into consideration the fallout from the inclusion of Nawaz Sharif and his family's name in the so-called Panama Papers released recently and the increasing domestic pressure he will be facing from other political parties and the military establishment to explain his position on the same

We should get on with on with our lives after having proved the point once again that the pakis are incorrigible and the international players interested in this region cannot fault us for having tried.

Modi and Doval are not duffers not to have seen this playing out the way it has.

shut down that singing creep ghulam ali b@s$#% immediately, for starters and revoke his visa.

Furthermore, there will be some untoward incident like ink throwing or something, and thats enough, the "intolerance" bandwagon will be on full throttle.

people to people contacts are essential for communal harmoney, improving mutual understandings, increasing the population of peaceful south asians, and....... for development.

How can such erudite posters be against development of south asia? These cultural events generate thousands of temporary jobs, so much sale of pindi chana, and much gas to power lahore for a week. In these times of weaning needed from the saudi teat, must we destroy this sustainable clean fuel?nIts not like we have spare corn to make ethanol.

The gas left behind by visiting south asians more than pays for their freeloading ways. If only there was a no visa regime in south asia then the potential to export goods and materials is unlimited, not just cheap demeaning back office services that have lead to south asians being devalued everywhere and being mistaken for being small, dark, or only eating rice based food.

This is the solution to not only internal strife, but for powering the world! Think how far the earth would move if 1.6 B south asians were to fart ... at the same time. Global warming would be a thing of the past. Just keep pushing the earth a few hundred million miles farther from the sun every year. People would live longer because there would be more days in a year! And time to go to mars would reduce giving humanity a second home.

Its a pity this remains a cottage industry. A few world bank loans and there could be gulam alee consorts in every town every day. Wouldnt it be a better future than all this hate and fighting?

I guess there is a need to breed more snakes in the backyard.

Uncle wanted more powerful helicopters for the Baki fauj to dodge the attack of flying shoes and slippers. :)

Going by how Modi operates, its not that Doval/Modi have been befooled--they are far too smart and experienced for this. It's more likely that they want to give a fair chance to Pakistan to mend its way before it is 'disciplined' by an external force.

Is it too tough to simply admit that indian politicians, strategists are too soft and not smart enough?! Modi or MMs, Doval or NNN, its the same story.

Why was news leaked to media despite best security contacts, asks Iranian envoy
ISLAMABAD: Iran’s Ambassador to Pakistan Mehdi Honardoost said on Tuesday that despite good contacts between the security institutions of Pakistan and Iran, the news about the RAW agent was leaked to the media, which is unprecedented.
The envoy said, “It is for the first time that before being discussed between security authorities of the two countries, an issue was leaked to media. “We have reservations over it which have been conveyed to our Pakistani brothers,” he said, adding that both the countries share a long border and security authorities on the two sides are well connected, then why this issue (of RAW operative) caught media attention.
He said, “Our people, distinguished brothers, and public opinions are so concerned about this false news, one hundred percent false news, and fortunately all authorities in Pakistan emphasise about it, that its false news and no one has the right to ignite this issue,” Honardoost said.
“False news exactly, as it says that Iranian side ignored and averted its eyes to the activities against Pakistan; it is one hundred percent false, we totally denied it,” the ambassador continued. “If there is even a slight signal of security issue, Pakistan security authorities can talk to their Iranian counterparts, they have very good relations; Iran would never allow its soil to be used against Pakistan.”
