Pakistani people will have to decide whether Nawaz should resign: US
WASHINGTON:
As the chorus for Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resignation gains momentum, the United States on Thursday said Pakistani people will have to decide whether the premier should resign.
“These are decisions that the Pakistani people have to make, and we’ve talked about this before,” US State Department spokesperson John Kirby said.
Clarifying the US takes corruption “very seriously”, Kirby said, “But in terms of this particular case, I mean, these are decisions that the Pakistani people have to make.” The state department spokesperson’s statement came in response to a question whether the US would support the democratic elected prime minister of Pakistan, or would want to see the corrupt leaders go home in the wake of Panama Leaks.
So, the 1.00 "patron" of Pakistan, is not lifting a finger to save the "in name only" PM of Pakiland !
“Separate and distinct from that – and I’m not talking about this specific case – the Secretary has also been very clear about the dangers of corruption around the world and what that does to fuel extremism and to increase economic instability and the corrosive effect that it can have on entire societies. So corruption is something we obviously take very seriously,” Kirby told media men during his weekly briefing.
Open interference in the internal affairs of Pakistan ? Where is the H&D of this artificial entity now?
The largest opposition group, the Pakistan Peoples Party, agrees with the PTI’s demand for a CJP-led probe, but says it will only press for the prime minister’s resignation if the judicial inquiry endorses the Panama leaks.
The PTI is approaching other opposition groups to enlist their support in its campaign against the government. The party’s vice chairman, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, met Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Sirajul Haq in Islamabad on Tuesday to muster the support of the politico-religious party.
Referring to Pakistan’s stance on the war against terror and silencing doubts about Pakistan’s biases towards certain terrorist groups, Kirby said, “We’ve been consistently clear with the highest levels of the Government of Pakistan that it must target all militant groups, including the Haqqani Network, al Qaeda, Lashkar-e Tayyiba.
Pakistani intelligence officer paid $200,000 to an extremist network to facilitate a deadly suicide bomb attack on CIA operatives at a base in Afghanistan in 2009, according to a declassified US government document obtained by an independent research group.
Nothing new here; in the words of a famous Nobel Laureate author, Pakistan is a big criminal enterprise!

IMMY IN LONDON TO SUPPORT CAMPAIGN FOR FOR ZIONIST BROTHER -IN- LAW BID FOR MAYORSHIP!

Per Friday Times:

An exemplary Muslim?

The Great Khan, unable to resist the lure of his former in-laws is said to be headed for London, leaving a party in disarray and his quixotic Dharna 2 enterprise hanging in the air back home. They say his sons are campaigning for their uncle in his bid for London’s mayorship against Sadiq Khan, of Pakistani origin. The Khan is critical of Sadiq’s liberal credentials, claiming that he is “anti-Muslim”, as if his Zionist former bro-in-law is an exemplary Muslim!

NAIVE SPANISH WOMAN TRAPPED ONLINE BY "CLEVER" PAKI ! :

Spanish woman in Gujrat (Pakjab) to marry Facebook sweetheart

Reported in Dunya (March 13, 2016) a 40-year-old woman from Spain arrived in Gujrat (city) to meet her 24-year-old Facebook sweetheart. The two married in court. She said Pakistan was peaceful and she loved the combined family system in the country. She has left for Spain where she will apply to invite her husband. (and later on the whole combined family  )

Arab envoys briefed on arrest of ‘spy’ - PTI, The Hindu
Pakistan on Friday said it had briefed envoys of the Arab and ASEAN countries on the arrest of an alleged Indian ‘spy.’

The Pakistan Foreign Office issued a statement saying that the envoys, based in Islamabad, were briefed on the arrest of “RAW [Research and Analysis Wing] Officer” Kulbhushan Jadhav and his alleged “confession about India-sponsored subversive activities and terror financing to destabilise Pakistan.”

“It was emphasised that to achieve regional peace and stability, it was imperative that India immediately stops its interference in Pakistan and resolves all contentious issues, including the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, through sustained dialogue,” the statement said.

The briefing comes days after Jadhav was reportedly charged with terrorism and sabotage in an FIR filed by the provincial Balochistan government.

Yadav must have been relieved when the taliban sold him to the Pakis.
He must have thought that he is being rescued by a disciplined military, and so prolly read out those statements on camera.
The pakis spliced that video in a mish mash way to create a RAA agint story out of thin air. Nothing unusual, the usual Paki haramkhori, being as slimy as can be...

Gagan ji, I am not aware of how the Taliban 'treat' prisoners for the purposes of breaking them but I am aware through hearing personal account/s of Indian captive/s with Paki army on the treatment their prisoners get.

Their way to break down a person is multi step, multi modal approach. Yes, there is 3rd degree but that comes later (about 04/05 days into interrogation). From religious brain washing, to depriving sleep, to family news (which the prisoner does not think is available in public domain), physical endurance (standing continuously), good cop-bad cop routines (in various hues and more sophisticated than ones in movies), etc. It is continuous, rigorous and randomized with sufficient touch up in the scenery around.

In the end, the idea is to break the person. The urgency of the need to break will determine the severity of the effort. Rest assured, everyone will break. Some may take more time. IIRC, Shri Yadav, was in ISI captivity for more than 20 days before the video. In that much time he would have confessed to being Mohammed Ali if the ISI so wanted.

Oscar Wilde said "Give a man a mask and he will tell you the truth". I change his words and say "Give a man adequate pain and he will tell you the truth you want him to say".

Incidentally, two books by Pakistani authors speak of methods used by the ISI/Pak army to break people.

One is by Air Commodore Nosey Haider of 1965 Pathankot raid fame who was imprisoned briefly. But the real gory detail comes from a (semi) fictional book "A Case of Exploding Mangoes" by Mohammad Hanif. This supports what deejay has said above.

Picture of Pakistani PM’s night out in London goes viral
LONDON (Staff Report) It seems Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has huge following even abroad.
The Pakistani premier, who is on a tour to United Kingdom for medical treatment, was caught by camera last night at a shopping store in central London. (ah- the charms of shopping in Londonistan - in cognito  )However, the salesman at Scabal was unaware of the political office PM Nawaz holds and mentioned him as “President of Pakistan”. He was, later on, corrected by one of the social media user.
Soon after the picture was posted on Friday night, a mixed reaction from social media users filled in the comments box.No doubt followed by an dinner at an high end Italian or a desi restaurant ! The "medical excuse"- copied from his tormentor, Mushy was obviously a sham to fool the Aam Abduls !-
PM Nawaz leaves for UK amid noise over Panama Papers
The PM’s tour, which started last Wednesday, came at a time when the Opposition is boiling over the Panama leaks scandal which involved Sharif family.
Massive leak alleges PM Nawaz, sons and daughter among world leaders who use tax havens to hide their wealth
A massive leak of 11.5 million tax documents on April 3 exposed the secret offshore dealings of world leaders and celebrities, also naming three of the Prime Minister’s children for owning real estate through offshore companies in London.

Guys, we know TSP plays these tactical games, so whats ModiJi's response going to be to the latest TSP maneuver. First Abdul Baashit spoke tough, then they back tracked, and now India is being blamed for no talks. DDM of course is reporting this crap with no mention of Patankot. Exactly the kind of narrative that ISI is scripting, namely, confuse the whole issue with lots of cacophony so that resumption of talks place while peppering over Pataknkot like 26/11 before. Any guesses on what India's response is going to be? Going by history, talks will resume no doubt, but will India forget Patankot like 26/11 before?

Army seeks role in CPEC administration ( i.e. Army Demands A Share Of The $ 46 Billion Dollar Pie !)
The military establishment has sought a formal role in the administration and execution of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) to accelerate work on $46 billion projects – a proposal which the federal government is reluctant to accept.
(Sounds familar? golden opportunity for the Paki Fauj to make a buck just like in the hey days of the Afghan civil war, where all C.I.A aid to the "Mujahideen" was channeled through the notorious ISI with devastating result for the whole world culminating in the 9/11 attack!)
The army has shared with the federal government proposal of setting up a CPEC Authority, sources told The Express Tribune. The authority is proposed to be headed by a chairman, who is to be assisted by director generals, responsible for execution of the CPEC projects.
(maybe, the Bad Sharif is angling for this job, once his tenure is over !)
They said the move is aimed at getting a formal role in the execution of all the projects, which will be financed under the $46 billion package, offered by China. The CPEC is a network of roads and rail links which will link western China to the Arabian Sea through Pakistan’s Gwadar port. However, independent analysts see it as a move to venture into an area, which is predominantly under the civilian control. Currently, the security of the CPEC is already with the army and it has raised a strong force of about 15,000 personnel to protect the Chinese investment and its citizens.
The sources said there was also a proposal for making the CPEC a part of the National Action Plan, the country’s counter terror policy adopted in the wake of the December 2014 brutal attack on a school in Peshawar. This proposal was also not accepted at the highest level of the civilian setup.
Currently, the pace of work on the CPEC projects is slow but Iqbal said it was because of China. “Pakistan has done its part of work and is waiting for approvals from the Chinese side,” he added.

Chini blothers - the new sugar daddy of the Pakis - are "flush with money" but are facing their own domestic economic problems
For example, the contractor could not be moved on Gwadar Eastbay Expressway project at the agreed dates ...
He said if there was a military desire for having a formal role in the CPEC execution, it might well be motivated by Chinese desire for quick implementation. Reportedly, over a dozen projects in infrastructure, energy, water supply and health sectors are facing significant delays.
In Pakiland, the Army is perceived ( for right or wrong reasons !) as more "efficient" than the civilians
Early this week, army chief General Raheel Sharif said for sustainability of the CPEC, transparency and good management were extremely important. He was speaking at a seminar on the CPEC held in Gwadar, ... ( where he also raised the bogey of RAW hidden hand )

Steel imports to hit $2.2bn as local production rusts away
KARACHI: Steel imports could cost the country up to $2.2 billion at the end of this fiscal year as demand for the commodity is on the rise amid robust construction activity.
The Pakistan Steel Mills (PSM), which has the largest production capacity in the country, is using outdated technology and is far from self-reliant due to administrative and financial constraints. As a result, domestic iron and steel products struggle to compete with cheap imports from countries where manufacturers enjoy scale benefits and use advanced technology.

Finance Ministry denies Dar meeting with Panama deputy minister
During interview with foreign media Zarak claimed his meeting with Dar

ISLAMABAD - The Ministry of Finance spokesman has rebuffed the media reports regarding claims of meeting of Panama Deputy Minister of Economy Ivan Zarak with Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar in Washington.
The spokesperson said that claims of Zarak during interview with foreign media about his meeting with Dar were baseless, unfound and extremely surprising. He said that Dar had cancelled his visit to Washington DC, where he was scheduled to participate in the World Bank/International Monetary Fund Spring Meetings from 14-17 April, 2016.

“How could Zarak meet Dar when the latter has not even left Pakistan in the last many weeks, he questioned, adding that the finance minister was in Pakistan and performing his day to day duties, which are being covered by the media as well. The matter is being taken up with the foreign media for wrong reporting, the spokesman said.
This London qualified C.A. and Finance Minister of Pakistan is closely related to Ganja ( their children are married to each other), so obviously Nawaz has been getting some "good" advice as to how to hide his loot; so, would not be surprised if these "media reports" are floating around ; where there is smoke, there is always fire !

Why Balochistan must be at the core of India’s Pakistan strategy
One of the most famous statements by Ajit Doval has been a warning to Pakistan daring them to do a Mumbai which will result in them losing Balochistan (with India’s help). Though, in an unlikely event of a Pakistan sponsored terror attack in India it will be immensely difficult for us to pull off secession from Pakistan, like it happened as Bangladesh, an otherwise direct threat to foment trouble in already the most troubled area of Pakistan is the need of the hour. However some questions remain; one – why has not India done it already, two – why have we not leveraged our ability to fan the unrest in the region to pull strings on Pakistan’s interference in Kashmir, three – Should we do it.
The recent arrest of an Indian man, supposedly named Kulbhushan Yadav in Balochistan has brought to fore various questions. The incident looks straight out of a movie. A RAW officer (ok, Navy officer) is summoned and asked to be a spy in Pakistan with the warning that in case he gets caught, he will be on his own. The officer immediately agrees for he loves his motherland and is ready to risk seeing his family again to supply intel. Unfortunately he gets caught by the enemies and our system decides as per the plan to dissociate from him. Or at least this is what Pakistan thought while arresting him.
Is the person a RAW spy? Definitely not, because circumstantial evidence do not point to the same. There is a very high possibility that this person, a business man, was singled out for his association with Indian Navy which he relinquished long back, was either lured inside Pakistani border or was arrested in Iran and then handed over to the Pakistani counterparts. Pakistan’s claims that he is still a RAW officer and was indulged in subversive activities inside Balochistan would give their claims of Indian interference in Baloch struggle for independence much needed credence. As Indian government immediately acknowledged his former association with Indian Navy, either as part of transparency in dealings or a classic I-know-that-you-know-that-I-know strategy has put the ball in Pakistan’s court to prove his activities were subversive. Some legitimate questions have been raised by media about the arrest such as why an agent from an enemy state would keep his own passport. Second, why would he enter through insurgency hit areas reaching Chaman when he would have easily taken the Kandahar route? Further it would be normal to have a former navy officer working/doing business at Chabahar port in Iran given the fact that a large number of Indians are working and stationed there.
There were other reports which stated that this person was sold by the Taliban to the Pakis
Theories aside, it is important to know about Balochistan region and people a bit to answer the three questions we try to revolve around.
1) In 2nd century, the region was ruled by Hindu/Buddhists (Indo-Scythian/Saka) kings – namely Yolamira, Arjuna etc. By 9th century AD, it was completely islamicized.
2) Balochistan region/Baloch population encompasses three countries. Afghanistan where they are least troubled. Iran where the Sunni Muslim Balochs are systemically oppressed by Shia majority. Further, Baloch’s cry for independence has never gone down well with Tehran and it has always found excuses to persecute the Balochs – in the name of drug trafficking, terrorism, treachery etc.
3) Though Balochistan is rich in resources – minerals, oil and natural gas, much of their population is poor. There has been absolutely no development and the blame is also fixed on the local population.
) Struggle for autonomy (if not independence) of Balochistan is not new. As Kanchan Gupta writes, ‘The Khan of Kalat, which comprised nearly all of Balochistan barring three minor principalities…were free…till Pakistan occupied it with force.’
5) Many Balochs were abducted and killed in cold blood by Pakistani forces. Bloody, gory struggle for independence saw thousands of men getting killed overnight. Atrocities on them continued. Rapes, Murders were comparable to what Pakistan army did in Bangladesh in a failed bid to contain their revolt.
6) Gwadar port (in Pakistan), a port with high strategic importance in the region which competes with Chabahar (Iran) was handed over to the Chinese. This caused resentment in the Balochs recently for the loss of jobs and prosperity they had to face as everything in the process of development was imported – even the labor.
So the answer to why has not India interfered already in Balochistan is clear. A conspicuous refrain from interference will make us have upper hand in negotiations and can make us grab Pakistan by throat if they meddle with Kashmir (which they intermittently do). Such an irresponsible behavior has been propped up in International forums and Pakistan reprimanded by international bodies for creating trouble in their neighbouring state.
Balochistan is indeed the weakest point in Pakistan using which we can catch them up by their throat and dictate terms. A joint retaliation by Pakistan-China will be troublesome though. Decades earlier when neither China was strong nor they had an association against India, we should have made strongholds in the region. In the name on non-interference we let go of an opportunity that would have deterred a lot of trouble in Kashmir that originates in Pakistan. As I write, we are sure Indian government have their cards in place, though not showing, and will change strategy in due time if Pakistan remains irresponsible and incorrigible. But, an unprovoked slapdash activism by India in Balochistan is something that is not required right now as it might weaken our international standing.

In their useless quest for an = = status with India, the Pakis will go to any length, including giving away land and resources to the Chini blothers, starting a nuclear war etc etc

Khawaja Asif’s shocking revelation about PM Nawaz’s return date!
SIALKOT (Web Desk) – Defence Minster Khawaja Asif revealed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would return to Pakistan within one and a half month after undergoing treatment in London, Samaa TV reported.
He said this while addressing the convocation of a Medical College in Sialkot here on Saturday.
Asif said that PM Sharif would inaugurate Sialkot-Lahore Motorway after returning to Pakistan.
The minister stressed the need for introducing advanced medical technologies in medical colleges to bring them at par with the international standard.
Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is in London for his routine medical check-up these days, which was repeatedly postponed due to his official engagements over the past few months.
Sources in the PML-N said that the prime minister, in addition to the medical check-up, would spend time with his children at his London residence.
According to sources, PM Nawaz was suggested to spend a week away from the hustle-bustle of the capital, just to relives his stress and anxiety following the Panama Leaks.

The whole "who's who of Paki politics" flocking to Londonistan and other cooler climes of Europe, in the guise of one excuse or the other (medical needs !) - part of the annual migration - to enjoy the good spring weather and escape the oven of La-whore and Krachi

Possibly in month and half , Nawaz will claim ill mental health and tender resignation to his Boss Mucchar Sharif to fulfill his part in Glide Path to Coup deal. He walks away with his wealth and Mucchar gets his wish to watch exploding Mangoes.

It is interesting to note where that particular picture was taken. The clue is that the salesman works at Scabal. In case you're not familiar with that company name, Scabal is a textile and fabric supplier for all the best Savile Row tailoring firms. Scabal also now manufactures their bespoke suits as well, but practically every high-end tailor on the Row (and many outside it) use Scabal fabrics for their suits and shirts (and advertise that they do as well!)

Therefore, we can safely conclude that the picture was taken at Scabal HQ in London, which is located at No. 12 Savile Row, in the middle of Mayfair, one of the exclusive parts of London's West End (if any of you have played Monopoly as a child with the London Monopoly board, you may remember that the square with the highest property value on the board is Mayfair). Nawaz Sharif is certainly spending a lot of money getting fitted for a new suit.

In London digs, Zardari calls Nawaz
PPP has denied any chance of a meeting between the two. PHOTO: INP
Former president and PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari called Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday evening and inquired after his health with the two leaders staying in close proximity in London.
Zardari, who arrived in London earlier on Friday, is staying at Grosvenor House which is located just a few blocks down Park Lane to where Nawaz is staying.
Zardari not meeting Nawaz in London: Bilawal
However, the PPP has denied any chance of a meeting between the two.
Bilawal Bhutto Zardari tweeted a rebuttal on Friday to a news report stating that the two could meet. “Zardari is not meeting Nawaz.”
It was followed up with a statement from the PPP information secretary Qamar Zaman Kaira that the two will not be meeting in London nor back in Pakistan.
When Nawaz arrived in London on Wednesday, he had told reporters that while he had good ties with Zardari, he too dismissed speculation of any impending meeting.
But late on Friday, Zardari made a video-call to Nawaz and inquired about his health.
Pakistani people will have to decide whether Nawaz should resign: US
In the past both have held meetings in London but these have almost always been officially denied by both sides.
Earlier in the day, Nawaz had gone for another check-up at the hospitals but doctors have yet to provide a definitive diagnosis.

Also earlier in the day, Nawaz got himself suited and booted for the video call from Dus - Perccenti !

Delusion, in its full glory
Pakistan must formulate a well-considered and calibrated military and diplomatic response to these adverse developments. Capitulation is not an option. India’s treatment of Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh should be a lesson against acceptance of Indian hegemony.

Pakistan’s military response will have to be defensive, asymmetrical, and designed to preserve the ability to deter and repel a conventional Indian attack, and the credibility of nuclear deterrence.

To break up a large Indian surprise attack (projected by the Cold Start doctrine), Pakistan can multiply its short-range, conventional missile capabilities. Air defence can also be best assured by anti-aircraft and ballistic missile defence systems. On the sea, Pakistan cannot afford expensive aircraft carriers; its defence will have to rely on submarines, large numbers of fast missile boats, and anti-submarine warfare capabilities.

To maintain credible nuclear deterrence and dissuade a pre-emptive enemy strike, Pakistan needs to continue to multiply its short, medium and long-range missile capabilities. Ultimately, the deployment of nuclear submarine-based missiles offers the most credible second strike option.

And, so long as India persists in its reported support for the Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan, and the Balochi Liberation Army, Pakistan would be unwise to give up the option of supporting the legitimate struggle of the Kashmiri people for freedom and self-determination.

Pakistan’s diplomacy will have to be dynamic and imaginative.

Strategic cooperation with China will remain critical. Just as the US is willing to share cutting-edge military technologies with India, China should be expected to share its most advanced weapons systems with Pakistan, including nuclear submarines, stealth aircraft, and its anti-aircraft carrier missiles.

Pakistan also needs to do much more to enhance military and diplomatic cooperation with Russia, which is locked in a new Cold War with the US, displeased with India’s embrace of America, and much closer to China. Several Russian weapons systems — the S300 anti-ballistic missile and the SU-31 fighter-bomber — are among the best in class.

In Afghanistan, Pakistan should clearly draw its ‘red lines’: no Indian military presence or use of Afghan territory for subversion against Pakistan. While continuing to support inter-Afghan dialogue, Islamabad should be prepared for a collapse in Kabul and prolonged Afghan chaos. Fostering an understanding with Iran is essential. Pakistan and Iran can cooperatively normalise their respective parts of Baluchistan and stabilise Afghanistan — unless Iran decides to align itself with India.

Rebuilding a close relationship with Saudi Arabia will restrain Indian penetration in the Gulf. This requires full support to the House Of Saud; it does not require participation in hostile operations against Iran.

Pakistan should continue its diplomatic engagement with the US, although there may be rough times ahead in the relationship.

The Sino-US rivalry is likely to get worse in the near future, given the angry and ugly mood in America, and rising nationalist sentiment in China. Eventually, once China acquires comparable military power, and large parts of Eurasia are incorporated into China’s ‘One Belt, One Road’ economic community, Washington may come to accept coexistence and cooperation with the new superpower.

It may also come to recognise that Pakistan is a critical country whose cooperation is vital to ensure regional stability in south and west Asia, to prevent nuclear non-proliferation, and to and defeat global terrorism. Perhaps then, Washington will respect Pakistan’s legitimate security concerns.

According to Breitbart news, several Pakistani professors are under arrest as they were acting as IS recruiters. Several Madrassahs are also under watch in Pakjab.

Fun facts about Grosvenor House:
1. It is a very posh hotel in Mayfair with a lot of history.
2. It is owned by eeevil Yindoos (more precisely, the Sahara group).

Wonder if Pakistanis will start allegations of RAW agents when they realize that Zardari is staying in an Indian-owned hotel.

This is new. Now Pakistan says it will destabilize south and WEST Asia, and proliferate and not help defeat terrorism unless its demands are met. But he is telling things as they are no?

RAW funded weapons seized in Balochistan - DAWN
Frontier Corps (FC) seized a huge cache of weapons and explosives from Noshki area, which were funded by Indian spy agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) to militant organisations in Balochistan. This was disclosed by Home Minister, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti along with Balochistan government spokesman AnwarUl Haque Kakar and Balochistan’s FC Deputy Inspector General Brig Tahir was addressing a news conference on Friday. He said, “Indian intelligence agency RAW and other hostile agencies {aha, that must be the Hanuds, Yahuds and the Nasara} are involved in funding and providing weapons, ammunition and explosives to militant organisations in Balochistan to commit terrorism, chaos and unrest”. Following intelligence information, FC along with other law enforcement agencies carried out operation in Noshki area and seized huge cache of weapons, ammunition and explosives. The arms, ammunition and explosives seized from Noshki area are being provided by Indian intelligence agency RAW to militant organisations to commit random acts of terror in Balochistan. He said that seized cache include Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), rocket launchers, mortars, SMGs, rifles, Kalashinikovs and others adding that the arrest of a serving officer of RAW and recovery of huge cache of weapons had proved that hostile agencies wanted to destabilise the region and to damage China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) {desperate attempts being made to drag China, Iran etc} . He said that nefarious designs of the enemies would be foiled.

They didn't explain how they concluded that these were all R&AW funded.

Paki Professor Pleads His Case Against The F-16,s
Can Pakistan’s F-16s fight terror? -Pervez Hoodbhoy
Pakistan says it desperately wants Lockheed-Martin Block-V F-16 fighter-bombers at $87 million apiece for fighting terrorists in tribal badlands such as North Waziristan. An order for eight jets has already been placed. The US Senate is sympathetic; a move to ban the sale was massively rejected by majority vote. Lockheed-Martin, which peddles its deadly wares to all who can pay, has already sold 4,500 F-16s to 25 countries. It must be pleased at this small, but tidy, deal of $700m.
But thoughtful Pakistanis should be worried. Waging an aerial war against your own population is not a good idea. Even if you have to, shouldn’t much cheaper weaponised drones be preferred over advanced fighter aircraft whose real job is to shoot down other planes? (The "Professor" is most likely aware of the real purpose of acquiring this latest "toy" in the guise of "fighting terrorism" !)

...Until that time, a state-of-the art aircraft is a ridiculously expensive choice for fighting wild-eyed local tribesmen and assorted fanatics from Central Asia. (As long as the bill is paid by "Uncle Sam", who cares )
More importantly, F-16s or drones can’t even dent the enemy’s real armour — his ideology. The Taliban are fighting to forcibly transform Pakistan into a state run by Sharia law. In the last two to three decades millions of Pakistanis have come to share enthusiasm for Sharia. Even while fighting the Taliban, many of our soldiers have agreed with their goal while disagreeing with their method. Hundreds, perhaps thousands, have died believing they are fighting agents of a foreign hand rather than religiously inspired fellow Muslims.

Billary Clinton's lecture ("breeding snakes in the backyard") coming home to roost!
After Operation Zarb-i-Azb, casualties from terrorist attacks have decreased by almost 40pc. A euphoric ISPR statement declared in December 2015 that, “Phenomenal success achieved. Terrorist backbone broken.”
But no backbone was broken. The enemy is just resting. The subsequent suicide attacks on Bacha Khan University, and Gulshan-i-Iqbal children’s park in Lahore, proved this. No one doubts that more atrocities will follow this year and next.
And the" poor civilians" caught in the crossfire, are collateral damage and enrolled in the IDP rosters !
To destroy terrorism will require a massive change of public attitudes and a complete repudiation of Pakistan’s current policy. This uses two hoses to fight a terrible fire. One pours water to douse the flames. But the other hose spews petrol, subtracting from the gains made by the first.
The petrol is in the form of incendiary television evening talk shows that justify or implicitly condone terrorism. Some hidden hand — India, Afghanistan, Israel, or America — is held to be responsible for all acts of terror. Today’s television anchors and their guests are mostly those who had once claimed that Pakistan’s war on terror is “not our war”. Under army pressure they have stepped back recently, but only somewhat.
Drumming up jingoistic and religious sentiment, television has helped create an ambience where terrorism was explained away as resistance to Western invasions. Do readers remember TV’s denunciation of the Lal Masjid operation? Or the ‘discovery’ by multiple TV channels that suicide bombers were non-Muslims because they had not been circumcised?

The "Professor" is telling as it is ; hope he has " good security"
To ban certain anchors and guests from freely peddling their lies using public media, and to jail them if necessary, would deflate popular support for extremists. Broadly, it is time to criminalise support for terrorism as much as terrorism itself. Those offering justification and rationalisation of such acts, financing through donations, or opening front organisations should be punished.
Impossible and then, if implemented, the rationale for a "separate homeland for Muslims" ceases to exist !
Example: until earlier this week our spies were apparently unaware that Jamaatud Dawa, which was added on to the UN’s list of international terrorists groups in 2008, has been running a parallel — and wholly illegal — system of justice for many years. ‘Sharia courts’ in Lahore, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Multan, and Islamabad have so far ruled on 5,529 (how did he obtain this precise number !) cases. In case of murder, compensatory blood money was fixed at the price of 100 camels. Those found guilty have been too afraid to challenge the court’s decision.

Doctor Sahib should be thanked for supplying this new information !
This brings to mind the Red Mosque. In 2007, its clerics had also illegally instituted their own system....
No charge of murder of army officers was ever filed against the head cleric, Maulana Abdul Aziz, who continues to enjoy a normal life. (And has the protection of the Deep State )
Drones or F-16s are not a solution. They may help in tribal areas but not in city environments where the enemy is thickest. Still, casualties can be reduced with good strategic thinking. Cutting off support to terrorists from their allies in the media, measures to stop radicalisation of the youth, and effective intelligence is critical. These are critical needs.

Chief proctor Swat University suspended for controversial ban
LAHORE (Web Desk) – The University of Swat Saturday suspended chief proctor for ordering gender segregation at the university, both on and off campus, Samaa TV reported.
Related: University to fine students caught near opposite sex
Taking notice of the issue, the Vice Chancellor Dr Jahan Bakht suspended the Chief Proctor Hazrat Bilal and withdrew the notification.
The move comes a day after the proctor issued a notification, barring all male and female students of University of Swat from sitting or walking together within the campuses or outside the campuses.
“If any student male or female found sitting or walking together in the campus or outside, a penalty ranging from Rs50 to Rs5000 will be imposed and an emergency meeting will be called with their parents,” the notification said.
The vice chancellor said that there was no ban on co-education in the University of Swat.

Maybe, the Chief Proctor is a "closet Talib"; or maybe, he did receive threats, who knows ! it will take generations for Pakistanis to practice gender equality, and that too, only, if Malsi is modernized !
