"Shopping Mall Maulvi" Coming To Pakiland For A Short Visit .

Why Dr. Tahir ul Qadri is coming back to Pakistan

LAHORE: Pakistan Awami Tahreek (PAT) Chief Dr. Tahirul Qadri has announced to lead sit-in protest on Mall Road on June 17 against government at the occasion of second anniversary of Model Town martyrs.
While addressing a press conference here at today via video link from Canada, Tahir ul Qadri said that PAT is going to stage sit-in protest to express their solidarity with the martyrs of Model Town incident.
Talking about Parliamentary committee that was formed for TORs, Qadri termed it a joke with nation adding that government is trying to safe Sharif family from accountablilty before nation.
He termed PM Nawaz early recovery as miracle after open heart surgery. PAT Chief announced that he will arrive in Lahore on June 15 via private flight.
However news are also surfacing whereby Dr. Tahir ul Qadri may prolong his sit in against Governemnt and ultimately may join the Imran Khan protest after the Eid against Governemnt over the issue of Panam Leaks.

IMO, the "sit in" is just an excuse; this "gentleman" obviously misses his fellow Pakis ( and is not comfortable with "White Canadians " ) and what better excuse than work excuse: sit-in to celebrate Eid with his fellow Pakis and mingle with his "thousands of admirere" on Eid day ; but moving to Pakiland "permanently" becomes a problem, as "free medical care, and social benefits like welfare etc are only available in Canada; and like the Canada Geese, (who fly South every winter) this worthy, ( religiously every year! ) instead does a West - East track by Air ( by First Class ) to escape the "harsh Canadian Winter" and return safely to home base each spring when the weather again becomes pleasant in Toronto and he can do the short commute for his preaching in the Shopping Malls !

PS: There were recent reports- true or not - in the Paki press that this "Sufi" has amassed a hugh fortune by his "Islamic preachings" .

Modi turns his guns on Pakistan in address to U.S. Congress
POSTED IN FULL
Narendra Singh Modi placed blame on Pakistan for nurturing and supporting terrorism, during his speech at the American Congress on Wednesday.
According to details, Modi said during his address that terrorism was being nurtured in India's neighbourhood.
"As a representative of the world's largest democracy, it is indeed a privilege to speak to the leaders of its oldest," he said.
"Terrorism is the biggest threat to the world today," (I doubt that anybody disagrees with this statement - if he had prefixed it with "Islamic" it would have been more specific  )said Modi. "We need to fight militancy on numerous levels. Terrorism is being nurtured in India's neighbourhood," he added.
He also said during his address that the United States was an inevitable ally of India and that a strong India was in the interests of the USA. Modi said that India had support from the United States in its efforts to establish the global solar energy.
He further spoke on the USA-India friendship and how beneficial it could prove for the whole world.
"India is the biggest destination for American companies at the moment," said Modi. "Trade between our two countries has increased now more than ever before," he added. "India recognizes the United States' efforts to keep South Asia safe."
Modi also said during his address that India's activities in the Indian Ocean could prove to be beneficial for the United States. He said that India and America's mutual cooperation could result in growing interdependence between the two states.
"A peaceful and stable Afghanistan is both in the interest of the USA and India," he said. "The joint efforts of India and United States can prove to be beneficial for development from Asia to Africa," he stated.
He also pointed out that defence trade between India and the United States had increased to more then $10 billion in just a single decade. Modi also said that cooperation between his country and the United States was keeping both countries safe from cyber crime and terrorism.

China's state TV names LeT in Mumbai attacks; shows Kasab's face
In a rare rebuke to its “all weather” ally Pakistan, China’s state-run channels have aired a documentary naming Lashkar-e-Taiyaba for the 2008 Mumbai terror attacks and even showed footage containing confessions of Ajmal Kasab, the lone Pakistani terrorist caught alive during the 26/11 carnage.
The footage was first-aired by the state-run Shanghai Television weeks ahead of President Pranab Mukherjee’s visit last month and was subsequently shown by another state-run Chinese television channel as well, officials here said.
The documentary containing vivid details of planning and execution of the Mumbai attacks by LeT militants caught Indian officials here by surprise as Chinese state media shows extreme care and caution in airing negative news about the all weather ally Pakistan.

Is this in retaliation against Hafiz-ul- Saur outburst against Chini-blothers treatment of Uighur Muslims ; or have the Chinese acted where their recent inter-action with Swami Subramanium !
The state media largely refrained from allegations that militants of the East Turkistan Islamic Movement (ETIM) from Muslim-majority Xinjiang province had training bases in Pakistan’s tribal areas.
“We have to wait and see what is the significance of the documentary on LeT on Chinese state television,” an Indian diplomat, who has seen the programme, told PTI.
It was a surprise as China has earlier blocked India’s bid to get a UN ban on LeT operational commander Zaki-ur-Rehman Lakhvi, the alleged mastermind of the Mumbai attack.
China had put a technical hold when India sought a ban on him after he was released from prison.
In March, China had put a technical hold again on attempt to get UN ban on Jaish-e-Muhammad chief Masood Azhar, accused of masterminding the January Pathankot terrorist attack.
China’s attempts to block the UN listings against the two has cast a shadow on its relations with India and diplomatic efforts were on between the two sides to resolve the issue.
Officials say the airing of the footage against LeT’s involvement in Mumbai attacks comes at a time when technical holds put in by China in the UN sanctions committee on some of the LeT leaders was set to expire in a few days.
It is to be seen whether there will be a change of stand in China’s position in UN, officials said.

Too early to speculate what does this means !

Pakistan enhances security of LeT chief Hafiz Saeed in Lahore
What could have been more difficult news for India than hearing Pakistan has enhanced security of Mumbai blasts mastermind Hafiz Saeed. Number of guards has been doubled at his residence.
It has been learnt that not just his residence but headquarters of JuD has also received enhanced security arrangement.
According to a report in a news portal, four barricades have been setup at a distance of 300 metres outside the house of the Lashkar-e-Taiba chief. A total of 48 security personnel are now deployed at his house, located at E Block, Jauhar Town in Lahore with 16 police personnel working in three shifts.
Security at the residence of Saeed’s brother-in-law Abdul Rahman Makki has also been beefed up.
Indian security agencies are now scratching their heads to know the real reason behind sudden enhancement in securities.
The last time when Saeed received this level of security was in October following a Home department alert that a "foreign intelligence agency" could make an attempt on his life.

Hope that the "Chini-blothers" are not preparing some sort of an "Action Plan" against him due to his recent outburst against the Communist Regime for their suppression of Malsi. And his Deep State protectors are worried about that !

Though we must never speak of India and Pakistan in the same breath because the two are massively different and never meant to be the same, there are times when interesting things happen and this is going to be one such. This massive Indo-US joint statement and the gamut of issues it deals with are going to cause huge problems to Pakistani H&D. Pakistan will demand equality and ask the US not to upset the balance by engaging India in areas where Pakistan cannot be similarly engaged and demand similar-to-India treatment in the remaining! There will be also demonstrations of much bravado from Pakistan and urgent visits will be undertaken to the new Makkah, Beijing. Reassurances will be demanded and we should carefully dissect the Pakistan-China joint statement.

Clinton’s visit aimed to save Nawaz from hanging: ex-PM
http://www.thenews.com.pk/print/126498- ... ging-ex-PM

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Shaukat Aziz has said that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the US were trying to keep Nawaz Sharif out of danger during the Musharraf era. Talking to Shahzeb Khanzada in the Geo News programme “Aaj Shahzeb Khanzada Key Sath”, he said both the countries tried to take Nawaz out of the country. He said the sole purpose of US President Bill Clinton’s visit to Pakistan was to save Nawaz from hanging. He said he was not present during Clinton’s meetings in Pakistan. He said Clinton was driven by humanitarian objectives and wanted that no personal vendetta be carried out against Nawaz. He said he wanted to call Rafiq Hariry as an investor and then President Pervez Musharraf allowed it. He said had his advice been called on the Nawaz issue, he would have said that no harm be done to anyone’s life.He said the attack on Benazir Bhutto on October 18 was shocking to them. He said Musharraf had not held consultations with him on the November 3 emergency. He said Musharraf imposed emergency as an army chief and he doesn’t remember what he said in the press conference on November 4.

Dr Asim seeks Canadian govt’s help
KARACHI: The Canadian High Commissioner, Andrew Turner, held a brief meeting with Dr Asim Hussain before the start of the court proceedings Wednesday. Being citizen of Canada Dr Asim Hussain has sought help from the Canadian government. Canadian envoy met Dr Asim on the latter's request. Dr Asim also handed over some documents to Canadian envoy during the meeting

Like many Paki fraudsters, corrupt politicos, (eg.Rahman Malik ) this "Doctor" probably holds dual citizenship and is now invoking his "other passport" to bail him out of his real or imaginary trouble with the Paki Govt. Doubt that the Canadian envoy can help him. Under Paki Law, he is not considered to be a Canadian. Dus Percenti, his mentor has skipped town!. He is now on his own.

After forking over Jaziya to the tune of some USD 35 Billion to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, stray tubelight flickers on in the US that the US has been right royally had by the Islamic Republic

Article titled “Don't Be Scared to Squeeze Pakistan” by Jeff M. Smith who is the Director of Asian Security Programs at the American Foreign Policy Council.

In the article says:

“They say the greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn’t exist. The greatest trick Pakistan ever pulled was convincing America it only had two choices: tolerate and bankroll Pakistan’s double game, or stir an unstable cocktail of Islamist extremism and weapons of mass destruction.”

Soundly advises the next U.S. President thus, though I am not very sanguine that the advise will be heeded given the US history of wanting to be honey trapped by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan over the past half century plus:

“My advice: trying to alter Islamabad’s cost-benefit calculation without imposing costs is a fool’s errand. Don’t be afraid to use calibrated pressure as a direct response to Pakistani transgressions. And don’t conclude that employing sticks will produce catastrophe before you’ve deployed your first.

Don’t accept the canard that nuclear terrorism is the only alternative to the status quo. And don’t be deluded into thinking America is a hopeless victim at the mercy of the Pakistani military, incapable of imposing unbearable costs on any person, group or institution it deems a threat to national security.”

Pakistan asks US to support its NSG bid

WASHINGTON: Pakistan has formally asked the US administration and Congress to support its application for joining the Nuclear Suppliers Group (NSG).On Tuesday, US President Barack Obama formally endorsed India’s application to join the group.Pakistan submitted a formal application in Vienna last month, expressing its desire to join the group. But the US administration and Congress are both unwilling to support Pakistan. In a letter to the US Senate Committee on Foreign Relations, Pakistan’s Ambassador Jalil Abbas Jilani reminded Congress that Pakistan had taken a series of steps that qualify it for joining the NSG.“Pakistan’s desire to participate in the NSG stands on solid grounds of technical experience, capability and well-established commitment to nuclear safety,” the ambassador wrote.“Pakistan has operated secure and safeguarded nuclear power plants for over 42 years. Safe and sustainable civil nuclear energy is essential for Pakistan’s future energy security and its economic development,” he added.“Pakistan has consistently maintained that criteria-based, non-discriminatory approach, which treats both Pakistan and India equally, while also simultaneously binding them to appropriate non-proliferation commitments, will not only strengthen the non-proliferation regime but also promote strategic stability in South Asia,” the letter explained. The letter warns that publicly available reports on “significant upcoming fissile material facilities and build up of unsafeguarded weapon usable fissile material in Pakistan’s neighbourhood raise larger security and stability concerns for the region.”Pakistan argues that a non-discriminatory and equitable approach by the participating governments of the NSG would help South Asia achieve a safer and more prosperous future.
The US also helped Pakistan develop Strategic Trade Controls. But these engagements did not translate into US support for Pakistan’s bid to join the NSG.The US is not only supporting India’s application but is also encouraging other countries, including China, to back the Indian move.Russian President Vladimir Putin has offered unconditional support to India’s entry into the NSG but China opposes the move as it discriminates against Pakistan.Without China’s support India cannot join the group, as all membership applications need consensus of existing members.

$8.2b railtrack upgrade project wins go-ahead
(==== Sequel by Pequelstan)

SLAMABAD: Pakistan on Wednesday cleared, in principle, two strategically important $10 billion projects for upgrading a mainline of the Pakistan Railways to smoothen the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) traffic, and construction of a gas pipeline. The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) gave the necessary nod to both the projects ahead of loans negotiations with Chinese authorities. China will provide loans for both the projects equivalent to 85% ($8.5 billion) of the cost of each project.According to the project documents, the cost of upgrading of Pakistan Railways existing Mainline (ML-I) and establishment of a dry port near Havelian is $8.2 billion, which the Chinese government will finance with a $7 billion concessionary loan. This project is part of $46 billion CPEC package and is covered under the CPEC Framework Agreement, signed during the April 2015 visit of Chinese president to Pakistan. The estimated cost of Gwadar-Nawabshah LNG Terminal & Pipeline project, also cleared in principle, is $2 billion including $1.4 billion Chinese loan. This project is strategically important for Pakistan as it will eventually link the country’s gas network with Iranian system.“The exact costs of both the projects will be firmed up after finalising financing arrangements,” said CDWP Chairman and Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal while talking to The Express Tribune. The ML-I project has been planned under the CPEC Framework. The $8.2 billion worth PC-I has been prepared on the basis of joint feasibility study carried out by a consortium of firms, namely, M/s Creec of China and M/s Nespak and M/s Pracs of Pakistan. At present, Pakistan Railways is picking up less than 4% of the traffic volume of the country, which the government intends to increase to at least 20% by 2025.The issue as to whether the implementing agency or the federal government would sign the financing deal with Chinese counterparts remains unaddressed. Another outstanding issue is whether the Exim bank will extend loan at 6% interest rate or 4% rate for this project.

Light bulbs are slowly coming on:

http://www.wsj.com/articles/breaking-th ... 1465338836

Breaking the Pakistan-Taliban Alliance - ZALMAY KHALILZAD

U.S. and Afghanistan must follow up on Mansour’s death with additional steps that escalate pressure on Islamabad. Otherwise the opportunity will dissipate.

Opportunities have come and gone before. The last golden hour that could have secured a verifiable Pakistani break with the Taliban was after the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan in 2001. From the moment the U.S.-led coalition overthrew the Taliban in 2001, through 2004, when Afghans voted in a landslide for the election of President Hamid Karzai, U.S. credibility was sky high.

Washington then squandered this opening. When initial indications emerged that Pakistan was offering sanctuary to the Taliban on its soil, Washington was reluctant to take decisive steps. As a senior official in the George W. Bush administration, I participated in countless circular debates on whether such sanctuaries even existed, whether they had been authorized by Pakistan’s then-president, Pervez Musharraf, and whether the issue was important enough to risk rocking the boat with Islamabad. {Massa went through "Where they serving ISI or retired ISI? If they were serving ISI, did they do it during saturday/sunday when it is not working day for ISI? If they were serving ISI and did it during a Wednesday, were they on casual leave on that day? If they were serving ISI, did it on wednesday and we not on casual leave, was it sanctioned by ISI chief? If they were serving ISI, did it on wednesday and we not on casual leave, and was sanctioned by ISI chief, was the sanction paper signed in triplicate with one copy lodged in records and other copy attested by a gazetted officer and the third copy counter signed by 2 witnesses in front of a magistrate?"}

My view was that Pakistan was playing a perfidious and dangerous double game and needed to be called on it. But because of factors such as the (actual or supposed) important Pakistani contribution to the fight against al Qaeda, Pakistan’s role as transit route for supplies to our troops in Afghanistan, and its own (however halfhearted) campaign against Pakistani Islamist extremists—senior U.S. officials either ignored evidence of Pakistani support for the Afghan Taliban or treated it as a cost worth tolerating.

Escalated U.S. military pressure through expanded drone strikes is one way to deliver that message, but it should be backed by corresponding political and financial pressure.

On the financial side, Pakistan has been an enormous beneficiary of international support, including from the coalition of nations aiding Afghanistan and from organizations including the International Monetary Fund and World Bank. In addition to limiting this assistance, the U.S. can oppose the renewal of the IMF support program when it runs out this summer. Washington should warn Pakistan that it will face escalating financial sanctions unless it ends its military support for terrorists and extremists, and facilitates reconciliation talks between the Afghan government and the Taliban. An initial step could involve imposing financial and travel restrictions on senior Pakistani officials known to be complicit in the insurgency, and freezing funds in U.S. banks belonging to Pakistani entities—both military and corporate—involved in financing the insurgency.

The U.S. currently designates Pakistan as a “major non-NATO ally”—a status wholly inappropriate given that its current policy and conduct would better merit its inclusion on the State Department’s list of state-sponsors of terrorism.

The U.N. Security Council is an appropriate venue in which to raise Pakistan’s aggression against Afghanistan. To help secure international support for a U.S.-Afghan-sponsored resolution condemning Pakistan, the U.S. should declassify and broadcast information indicating Pakistani support for the Taliban and other insurgents, as well as Pakistani complicity in the insurgency’s narcotics trafficking.

Can anyone decipher what DT Editorial means by the bolded part below? I thought it was a self goal.

There is no doubt that nuclear technology should be used for positive purposes, yet proper check of its negative use is also necessary. The US should review its policy of trade with India and aid for Pakistan. Similarly, world powers need to adopt a fair treatment of all states that have acquired nuclear technology, and they must ensure that only those states are rewarded with membership of elite groups that are capable of ensuring its positive use for the wellbeing of humanity.*

Former interior minister Rehman Malik said Iran was even ready to provide its base to India. He said the US had never recognised Pakistan’s role in the war on terror. He asked why the US did not target Taliban chief Mullah Akhtar Mansour through its drones while he was travelling in Iran.

The adviser said Pakistan was planning to highlight the dangerous implications of India’s plan to nuclearise the Indian Ocean at all the relevant international forums. He said Pakistan was also considering the option of moving a resolution in the UN General Assembly, seeking to declare the Indian Ocean as nuclear-free.

Haqqani network commander killed in US drone strike in Afghanistan
PESHAWAR: A senior leader of the deadly Haqqani network was killed in a United States drone strike in Afghanistan's Paktika province, reports in the Afghan media said on Thursday.
The leader killed in the drone strike was Sirajuddin Khademi, a logistics commander of the Haqqani network and member of the Quetta Shura in the southeastern Paktika province, the reports said.
Assadullah Sherzad, a police commander in the southeast region told Afghan media that the drone strike targeted Khademi along with another person early in the morning.
However, the Afghan Taliban, to which the Haqqani network is linked, have not confirmed the commander's killing in the drone strike.
Earlier on May 21, chief of the Afghan Taliban Mullah Akhtar Mansour was killed in a US drone strike in Balochistan.
The insurgent group elected Mullah Haibatullah Akhundzada, a former head of the Taliban's judiciary and one of two Mansour's deputies, as their new leader.
Sirajuddin Haqqani, head of the Haqqani network, and Mullah Mohammad Yaqoob, son of former leader Mullah Mohammad Omar, were appointed Akhundzada's deputies.
American officials blame high-profile attacks in Afghanistan on the powerful Haqqani network, which mainly operates out of Pakistan's border areas.

Hope that this time, ( as comparison to Mullah Mansour's targeting ) the US did not seek any "input" from the Deep State to drone this person !

Praise Be To Allah And US Drones

Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani suggested that if the members desired, the Senate could be converted into the committee of the whole house to prepare new “terms of engagements with the US”.

But, didn't the Pakistanis do an exactly same exercise after the Abbottabad incident?

NADRA names Upper Dir citizen in CNIC as ‘Barack Obama’ :rotfl:

UPPER DIR, 8 June: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has mistakenly written a citizen’s name as Barack Obama instead of Barack Hussain in his computerised national identity card (CNIC).
Was the clerk smoking "Dir Charas" during work hours

A resident of Upper Dir, Barack Hussain said his grandfather suggested this name for him. He said NADRA mistakenly wrote his name as Barack Obama in the CNIC which was later corrected. However, he said people in his area now jokingly call him Obama.

Barack Hussain told TNN that he is stopped at every check post for long time due to similarity of his name with the US president.

“Whenever I cross some check post and security men seek my identity card, they ask me whether I am a Pakistani Obama or from the US.

Some people even take pictures with me. People say I should be happy to be the namesake of the US president, but I don’t have powers like him,” Barack Hussain said.[/quote]

Is it possible that Ombaba has decided to "retire" in Dir after his presidency

TRACTOR TRAILER, TROLLEY EPISODE # 1 !

Battle Of The Bulge?
Opposition rejects Asif’s ‘unconditional apology’ without naming Mazari

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Federal Minister for Defense Khawaja Asif on Thursday tendered an “unconditional apology to the house” for his derogatory remarks against Shireen Mazari, without referring to her directly.
“It was not my intention to ruin the decorum but I was not being allowed to complete my speech, which compelled me to say those things,” the minister said while addressing to National Assembly here on today.
Right after Asif’s address, PTI’s Shireen Mazari replied and stated that since she had been singled out and attacked, the federal minister should tender an apology to her by taking her name.
At this Asif stood up and said, “I will not name Ms. Mazari in my apology because I had named no one when I made the [insulting] remarks. If I had named anyone, then I would like to apologize to them.”
Earlier in the day, Asif had submitted an apology letter to National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq, which the latter read out in the house.
But Mazari, not accepting the gesture as an apology, said Asif should come to the house himself and apologize personally.

PTI leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that such behavior was making Pakistan a joke in the world.

“Men should reconsider their behavior towards women. This has become a national habit,” he said.

Other women parliamentarians also supported Shireen Mazari, calling Khawaja Asif’s outburst an insult to women and the sanctity of the parliament.
While a ruckus was ongoing in the assembly session , NA Speaker Ayaz Sadiq tried to pacify members. “I have tried my best to do justice to my duties. I am human not an angel. I can make mistakes. Yesterday I had specifically asked Shireen Mazari to remain seated,” the speaker said.

China to invest $8.5 Billion to upgrade Pukistan rail network and build gas pipeline:
http://www.ndtv.com/world-news/china-to ... rt-1417247

China's strategy could be simple. With the $1 Trillion war chest they have, they may think that a wise investment of $100 Billion is good enough if it can ensure that India does not emerge as a competitor and does not pose a military / strategic threat in the long term and if it helps prop up a reckless, heavily armed munna in the region that will do its bidding. In the process, being the banias that they are, they will ensure that the terms of the investment will keep Pukistan indebted to Cheen for ages to come.

India's best bet here is PoK's status as disputed territory. Once PoK is retaken by India, Pukistan loses its geographical relevance to both India's friends and its enemies. Taking PoK back should be THE top priority for India until it is mission accomplished. Meanwhile, there is no reason to panic as Pukistan has the great track record of making a mess of everything and biting the hand that feeds it.

Pakistan concerned over growing Indo-US ties: Sartaj Aziz

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has expressed its concern over growing strategic ties between India and the United States (US), a day after the two countries signed a number of agreements for security cooperation during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the US.

Addressing a press conference at the Foreign Office (FO) on Thursday, the Adviser to the Prime Minister on Foreign Affairs Sartaj Aziz said that the US approaches Pakistan whenever it needs it, and abandons it when it doesn't need Pakistan.

"Pakistan will convey its concerns to US over the latest issues in the bilateral ties," Aziz said, adding that a high-level meeting is planned between Pakistan and US officials on June 10 in Islamabad.

"We firmly conveyed it to the US that maintaining effective nuclear deterrence is critical for Pakistan's security and only Pakistan itself can determine how it should respond to growing strategic imbalance in South Asia," he said.

+1
China is trying to encircle India by arming Pukistan. India is doing the right thing by making friends with US at the moment. But its not going the full throttle. Expecting that from a docile foolish political class is just way too much.
China has already done as much damage to Indian security as it could by giving nukes and delivery systems to the retards across our border. The only advantage is that it is left with few cards to play now.
India can still arm all states in the south China sea. Gift them ballistic missiles and deploy a carrier fleet in South China sea permanently.
The Indian foreign policy boys have failed miserably at handling China. They have nether managed to make friends with them nor be able to deter them.

Ok. Here is something that should make China think and regret.

http://www.scmp.com/news/asia/south-asi ... a-its-mind

India plans expanded missile export drive, with China on its mind

“Policymakers in Delhi were long constrained by the belief that advanced defence cooperation with Washington or Hanoi could provoke aggressive and undesirable responses from Beijing,” said Jeff M. Smith, director of Asian security programmes at the American Foreign Policy Council.
“Prime Minister Modi and his team of advisers have essentially turned that thinking on its head, concluding that stronger defence relationships with the US, Japan, and Vietnam actually put India on stronger footing in its dealings with China.”

New Delhi had been sitting on a 2011 request from Hanoi for the BrahMos for fear of angering China, which sees the weapon, reputed to be the world’s fastest cruise missile with a top speed of up to three times the speed of sound, as destabilising.

With 54.5B$ total investment, once the Gwadar corridor is complete. Retaking PoK will be very very difficult me thinks. Best would be to make these projects nonstarters or make the progress painfully difficult that they are rolled back or left unfinished. Once they are complete, what are the chances that China will allow India to retake PoK?

TRACTOR TROLLEY EPISODE # 2

In Khawaja’s footsteps: Abid Sher Ali also uses ‘disgraceful’ language against Shireen Mazari

SLAMABAD (Web Desk) – Following the derogatory remarks of Federal Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Minister of State for Water and Power Abid Sher Ali has also used disgraceful language for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf lawmaker Shireen Mazari.
In a post on social media network Twitter, Ali said “Shireen Mazari alias tractor trolley is a child of a kind that always wants attention for fame.”
Related: Uproar in the NA Khawaja Asif calls Shireen Mazari “tractor trolley”
In another tweet addressed to Shireen Mazari, he said: “I hope you understand that your are in parliament not in a school where you can cry and teacher can wipe your tears.”

Madame Tractor Trolley has denied that she behaved like a women and cried like a child !!
Earlier, Khawaja Asif had issued a written apology to Speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, regretting his conduct during Wednesday’s session. However, the opposition rejected his apology because it did not directly name Mazari. They also demanded that Asif apologize to Mazari directly in front of the House.
The opposition later staged a walkout from the Lower House in protest.

So, "membership" in the Madame Jalebi Tractor Trolley Club has jumped from one to two

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif’s illegal bathing video leaked online !

SIALKOT (Web Desk) – Flouting the government ban on bathing in a local canal, Pakistan’s state Minister for Defense and Water and Power Khawaja Asif recently took a cool dip in a canal in his native town of Sialkot.
A video posted by Dunya News shows the minister diving into the Motra Canal alongside a large group of people.
During a visit to his constituency last Sunday, the minister arrived at Motra Canal along with his friends including MPA Manshaullah Butt, former deputy mayor Babar Khan, expected chairman of municipal corporation Chaudhry Tauheed Akhtar and others.
Khawaja Asif jumped into the canal along with his friends despite imposition of Section 144 ( I was always under the impression that all these restrictive Sections of PPC were only applicable to Aam Abduls and do not apply to Paki Elites like K.A  ) by the district administration that bars locals from entering rivers and canals.
According to Motra Station House Officer (SHO) Rai Safdar Hussain, citizens are strictly prohibited from swimming in the canals. However, action could not be taken “because it is his day-off.”

So, in Pakistan, all "crimes are permissible" if it is committed when the SHO has a "day off"

Maryam Sharif acting as "Acting PM"

Chinese ambassador meets Maryam Nawaz

ISLAMABAD (Staff report) – The Chinese Ambassador in Islamabad Sun Weidong met with Maryam Nawaz, daughter of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif, on Wednesday.

Sun Weidong inquired about the PM’s health and conveyed his best wishes for the Prime Minister’s health and quick recovery.

The ambassador also conveyed the Chinese president Hu Jintao’s best regards to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Is Ganja Sharif conveying some sort of a "secret message" through the heir apparent ?

Ex PM Shaukat Aziz : Saudi And US Saved Nawaz From The Gallows !

US and Saudi Arabia rescued Nawaz from Musharraf, says former PM Aziz

Former prime minister Shaukat Aziz said Wednesday that they were in the exit mode right before the emergency was imposed.
“I had no intention of continuing my role in the government. I had decided that whoever the party nominates after me could become the next prime minister after winning the elections,” the former prime minister said during an interview with a private news channel.
“I used to meet the chief justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Chaudhry frequently. We had no animosity towards the judiciary,” he said.
He sidestepped a question regarding his role in imposing the emergency and said that he didn’t remember what he had said at the time.
Mush had said that emergency was imposed on recommendation of his PM!!
He said that in order to protect his life and benefit the development work in Pakistan, the two countries made sure that he left. “Bill Clinton came to Pakistan for a humanitarian purpose which was to guarantee the safety of Nawaz Sharif,” he said. On top of that, he added, was the pressure from Saudi Arabia.
“I was also of the view, when I was asked, that Sharif’s life shouldn’t be put in any danger,” he added.

The Paki Fauj does not have a good track record of "protecting" PM's and Presidents; look what happened to Liaquat, ZAB,Zia, and Benazir !
On the drone strikes, he said: “When these drones used to operate from our bases we knew about that, however, we didn’t know where they were going, why they were going there and who the intended target was.”
On Pakistan’s involvement in the war against terror he said it was the right decision at that time.

And the Pakis took the USA for a ride financially and politically (run with the hare and hunt with the hounds !)

Pakistan is not in a soup because it didnt have a rail network and a gas pipeline. Pakistan is in the shitter because of its Islamist totalitarian ideology, committment to export of that totalitarian ideology and its second order effects: lack of peace with neighbors, population explosion, lack of skilled manpower, dearth of foreign investment etc.

Even if Pakistan gets a (chinese) bullet train, where are the Paks going to go in that train? Even if they get a gas pipeline, what industries will the gas in that pipeline be used for?

And then the question, is this a grant or a loan? Are the Chinese now so rich that they can give grants of tens of billions of dollars to basket cases? Last I checked, their per capita GDP was hovering around the $4000 mark..

If its a loan, then its doomed from the start unless Pakistan mends its ways.. But if Pakistan mends its ways, there would not be a need for such extra ordinary Chinese efforts.. At best, even if the $50 billion 'aid' comes to pass, it can only allow Pak to maintain its conflict posture with India for another decade or so. After that, it will be utterly unsustainable.

I also urge members to do a thought experiment. While it costs $8.5 billion to construct a high speed rail, how much does it cost to destroy it? Pak is uniquely vulnerable to destructive forces and there is many a slip between the cup and the lip and I dont think Allah is Insha for this effort by the Chinese.

Paki Women Lobby To The Rescue Of Madame Tractor- Trolley
Aseefa asks Maryam to take notice of Khawaja’s language
KARACHI: Federal Minister Khawaja Asif is being critisised widely on his derogatory ‘tractor trolley’ remarks about PTI’s lawmaker Shireen Mazari in National Assembly.
Aseefa Bhutto, the daughter of late Benazeer Bhutto, also joined the critics while telling the Federal Minister, “mind your language please.”
She took to twitter to express her dislike and said Khawaja Asif’s language is unacceptable and derogatory towards women and against National Assembly decorum.
Aseefa Bhutto has also asked Maryam Nawaz Sharif to take notice of this insulting behaviour.
“As a woman please take immediate notice and action,” she demanded to Maryam Nawaz.

The Mullah Brigade (AKA Council Of Islamic Ideology ie. CII ) is curiously silent on this one. My bet is that, with beefy bodies like Tahir Ashrafi (AKA Maulana Sharab ) and Fazlul Rahman (AKA Maulana Diesel ) they will throw their (considerable ) weight in favour of the Male Member  Last time I checked, they were "deadly against" the female sex coming out of the "Islamic Closet"; I expect Minister Asif to receive their support, based on their past history of not supporting anything that has to do with Women's Issue; after all they have recently come out in favour of "mild beating, thrashing " of spouse, which according to them, is not in contravention of Sharia/ Islamic Law

Soundly advises the next U.S. President thus, though I am not very sanguine that the advise will be heeded given the US history of wanting to be honey trapped by the Islamic Republic of Pakistan over the past half century plus:

Fighting the Taliban: The US and Pakistan's failed strategies
C Christine Fair

On May 23, 2016, President Barack Obama announced that the head of the Afghan Taliban, Mullah Mansour Akhtar, was killed in a drone strike in Pakistan’s Balochistan province. Akhtar, it is believed, resisted negotiations with the Afghan government and its allies. The strike was notable for several reasons. First, the United States military executed it and not the CIA. Second, it was the first drone strike outside the Federally Administered Tribal Areas and their peripheries in Pakistan. Third, it likely did not involve coordination with the ISI or the Pakistan Army. The move signaled ever-growing American frustration with Pakistan’s tactics of extracting rents from Washington while proving itself unable or unwilling to bring the Afghan Taliban to the negotiating table.
From the perspectives of the General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, there is no incentive to do so for several reasons. First, why negotiate when the Taliban are winning with Pakistan’s generous and unstinting support? Second, the international community will eventually leave Afghanistan and the Taliban can once again ensconce themselves to ostensibly do Pakistan’s bidding. Third, even if the Taliban cannot regain their past glory, they and their allies, such as the Haqqani network, will at least keep the Indians at bay.
The Pakistanis in their analysis ignored the Afghan public which has completely turned Anti- Pakistan !
Both Pakistan and the United States employ failed strategies. For the American part, it launched a war it could never win because it was dependent upon the one country that opposed its key interests — Pakistan.
Worse, it incentivised Pakistan to continue aiding and abetting America’s enemies through the Coalition Support Funds. (Use Amreeki money to aid American enemies ; the Paki Double Game Exposed  )If Pakistan had actually delivered, the cash flows would stop.
In the absence of a strategy, the United States opts to take out the Taliban leadership in hopes of bringing the rest of them to the table. Yet there is no evidence that such leadership decapitation degrades the organisation or makes it more amenable to negotiation.
Pakistan’s men in uniform may believe they have won. However, Pakistan stands to lose more than it gains for several reasons. During their heyday, the Taliban never delivered a resolution on the Durand Line, encouraged Pakhtun nationalism, harboured Pakistani criminals, and brought additional international opprobrium to Pakistan for its support of Islamist militias in Afghanistan and India. There would be no Pakistani Taliban had Pakistan not nurtured the Afghan Taliban and the numerous other Deobandi militant groups that comprise the backbone of the Pakistani Taliban.
The Paki Awam are "fed" the story that the Pakistan Taliban (TTP) is a creature created by RAW !
The Afghans, too, have come to loathe Pakistan for its incessant interference that dates back to the earliest years of the Pakistani state. Pakistan’s stale and murderous policies have delivered even Ashraf Ghani, who extended an olive branch to Rawalpindi, over to the Indians. The Americans will leave Afghanistan. More Afghans will die. But over the long term, Pakistanis will continue paying the price for the follies of their men in uniform who think strategic depth in Afghanistan is more important than security at home.
And the so-called concept of "strategic depth" is ultimately connected to their un realistic dream of an = = status
Nice concise analysis by the once - Pro-Paki Professor !
