turkish police suspect a saudi kill team grabbed hold of dissident khashoggi when he visited the ankara consulate to get his divorce papers , chopped him into pieces, put in bags and boxes and then left in a 6 vehicle convoy that split up to throw off the scent. this team flew back the same day.

search is on for the black van in the convoy.

must be a first in the world of consulates though the russians have roughed up suspected murican dual role diplomats and many such cases all over incl TSP but this is pure play butchery

being a saudi there is none to fight for the missing man.

PMU2 is the highly advanced version of S300.

The S400 is the name given to S300 PMU3. After PMU2, it was decided to give it a new name.

We are looking at 300-400 SAMs along with Radars integrated with Russsian AD in terms of IFF so far missile with SAA.

I doubt SAA has trained experienced S-300 SAM operators may be just few dozen but such deployment would need many dozens trained personal and likely these are operated by Russian expereince crew

Putin did the right thing didnt blame Israel or any body or any kind of revenge talk but quietly deployed a significant number of S300 in SAA to protect Russian Armed personal

the SAA were actually trained on the S300 sometime in 2013-14 when the sy govt had ordered & paid for S300s. Due to Israeli or western pressure on Russia, it never handed over these platforms to Syria.

So I do not think the russians need to retrain the syrians on S300, but it will take around 2 months to integrate the S300 with Syrian SAM network.

Also since these S300s are not export varients. I expect the user interface is in cyrillic and not english as in export varients. Maybe for Syrians that is not an issue. Who knows.

this article from 2013 mentions Russians having started delivery of S300 systems to Syria
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2013/ ... iles-syria
but it seems they didn't go the whole way and shipments were not completed.

breaking news

The so-called “Islamic State” (USA/Blackwater/ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) has just launched a surprise attack in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. According to a military source in Damascus, they attacked SAA positions along the western bank of the Euphrates near the cities of Hasarat and Al-Mayadeen.

the saudis could have outsourced the hit on khashoggi to any number of 3rd party hired guns but they tried to make it personal and tried to scare other dissidents, using a huge 15 member easily traced team and killing him inside the consulate itself - which turkish intel audio and video spying devices picked up. not exactly a KGB grade ops team.

its not going to end well for them. erdogan will need to show them who is boss.

Whatever the truth in #JamalKhashoggi case, we should be asking: "What's the real agenda here?"

For 3 years the whole Western world, and #MSM, have been fine w. #SaudiArabia dropping bombs on weddings and school buses, and now suddenly they care about 1 guy? Something's up.

compilation of saudi tanks burned by the houthis
https://twitter.com/agerhusmedia/status ... 1351195653

tanks are being used as pillboxes in isolated posts, with infantry running away when the houthis approach .... no outlying infantry positions, barbed wire, minefields, watchtowers, mortar pits....this is like school scouts on a camping trip

the fighting and leadership level of the saudi army/border guards is very low.

CNN

Sources told CNN that the Saudis are preparing a report that will acknowledge that Khashoggi's death was the result of an interrogation that went wrong. The sources said the interrogation was intended to lead to his abduction from Turkey.
One source said the report will likely conclude that the operation was carried out without clearance and transparency and that those involved will be held responsible. A source acknowledged that the report is still being prepared and cautioned that things could change.

exiled saudi prince living in germany narrowly escaped khashoggi's fate via a trap in cairo

https://www.dailysabah.com/world/2018/1 ... -khashoggi

The BBC has documented three cases in which monarchy-critical Saudi princes living abroad have vanished. Prince Sultan bin Turki disappeared when he wanted to visit his father in Cairo from Paris in January, 2016. The Saudi consulate provided a private jet for him, but instead of Cairo it flew to Riyadh.

Two further princes - Turki bin Bandar and Saud bin Saif al-Nasr - have vanished in Europe. In these cases, there were also indications of kidnappings, the BBC said.

this way the turkish govt avoids a direct fight with the saudis while still tarring and feathering them

Todays sabah says the saudis cut his fingers off ss they tourtured him and then beheaded him

Their team had a known autopsy dept doc skilled in cutting up corpses into manageable pieces

Turk spy devices inside the consulate transmitted audio

So it was not a simple attempt to drug and kidnap but ahit to torture and kill and make it known to other dissidents

Perhaps they did not take turks into the plan and paying price now

Turks are using this to settle old unknown scores, discredit mbs as a instable and cruel bully vs suave erdogan and open cracks in the us saudi bear hug

Cnn

CNN) — At least 13 people were killed and about 50 more injured following a possible terror attack in Russian-annexed Crimea, according to Russia.
Russia's National Anti-Terrorism Committee told CNN in a statement that a blast was caused by an "unidentified explosive device" at a college in the city of Kerch -- where a new 19-kilometer bridge links Crimea to Russia.
Russia's Investigative Committee said in a statement: "According to preliminary data, an unidentified explosive device packed with metal objects went off today in the dining room of the Kerch Polytechnic College."

We should be cautious about this—

Yeni Safak Daily says it had reached the tapes of #Khashoggi murder:
• Without proof, says there are multiple tapes
• Saudi Consul General asked hit team to execute to murder outside the building.
• In return he was threatened with death

• Without releasing the actual tapes, it reports that first #Khashoggi’s fingers cut during the torture
• Then he was beheaded
• Hit team told the Consul that he needs to be silent if he wants to be alive back in Saudi Arabia

Google translate:
10/16/2018 The Russian EW Krasukha complex deployed in Syria on October 14 caused a malfunction in the Israeli Iron Defense system. This is the main defense of Israel against the constant attacks of militants by unguided rockets. It is deployed not only on the country’s border with the Gaza Strip, but also around its major cities, ensuring reliability and a high degree of protection against these weapons. Therefore, the emergence of failures in the system, especially the mass, is fraught with a loss of security for the whole of Israel.

According to Israeli media, the “Iron Dome” anti-missile system spontaneously worked on the border of the Gaza Strip and Israel. An alarm was announced, a siren sounded, the missile defense system released one antimissile. However, the alarm was false. There was no rocket attack.

Experts with a high degree of probability suggest that the incident was a consequence of the impact of the Russian electronic countermeasures system from the EW Krasukha complex deployed in Latakia.

The EW Krasukha complex is recognized by experts of one of the most powerful electronic warfare systems in its class in the world. After the deployment of the system, it was repeatedly reported about the UAVs lost by the Americans in Syria, as well as the nearly lost C-130 “Hercules” military transport aircraft, the reason for which could well be the action of the Russian “Ruby”.

SAUDI THREATS TO HAVE A RUSSIAN BASE.

There was talk of the Saudis threatening to have a Russian base in Saudi. I doubt this would happen or would be allowed to happen by the US as it represents a major coup against the US, but let us look at two things.

New york times says usa intel is convinced the orders came from mbs himself. A colonel close to him exposed by turks as part of the team

they also asked the ambassador to stfu and sawed the victim right in his office. No intent to kidnap just full on coldblooded murder perhaps a world first in a consulate

An excerpt from todays nyt::

A team of fifteen Saudi agents, some of whom have direct links to Bin Salman, were waiting for Khashoggi inside the consulate when he arrived, at 1:15 p.m. on October 2, according to the count of the Turkish authorities.

After Khashoggi was taken to the office of the consul in Turkey, Mohamed al Otaibi, the officers seized the journalist immediately and began to beat and torture him, including the amputation of his fingers, according to the Turkish official who confirmed the audios.

"Do this outside, they're going to get me in trouble," the consul is heard telling the agents, according to the report of Yeni Safak, who cited the recordings obtained by Turkish intelligence.

"If you want to live when you return to Arabia, better shut up," one of the agents replied to Al Otaibi, according to the newspaper.

He reported: "Gruesome tortures were committed against Khashoggi, who went to the consulate to obtain documents."

From the count, while the agents cut off the fingers and dismembered the journalist's body, a forensic doctor who was taken with the team to advise how to get rid of the body gave some advice.

He recommended listening to music and he himself put on headphones. The Turkish official quoted by Yeni Safak said that in the audio the doctor says that it is what he usually does to alleviate the tension of performing such tasks.

The information would not have been shared by Turkey without the approval of the government of Recep Tayyip Erdogan. The media is very controlled in Turkey; either because they are public or their owners are pro-government businessmen. There are usually censors in the newsrooms and many reporters and editors receive direct instructions from presidential officials.

So erdogan is using this as a good lever to discredit MBS , repair bridges to the usa while keeping good track2 ties to russia , give hope to saudi dissidents and emerge as a new leader of the non turkic arab world too. I think he has good ties to qatar as well

The pasha is a good card player

Mbs and the saudis come across as bumbling, cruel and despotic which they are but the whole world knows now. Diplomarically they will be spat upon wherever they tread now

Looking at the pastor episode and MBS saga, looks like Turkey has cut some deal with uncle behind the scenes either explicit or implicit. In exchange, Turkey is allowed to refinance its massive USD debt which is up for maturity next year. Without which its economy would have been in deep deep trouble, none of which will ever be discussed in press. All that jingoism with rus is one thing, but it is very much dependent on its ties with wyest for its livelihood.

Image

Major General Ahmad ‘Aseeri appears, to be of mixed blood: probably sudani arab. His last name suggests he is from the Western coastal area of ‘Aseer' which extends down into Yemen. He also has no bloodlines to connect him to the “royal” family of Saud thus making him thoroughly dispensable.

Arabs mainly who settled in places lime aseer mombasa zanzibar were heretics and apostates like shias kharijites or else of seafaring omani yemeni stock

They actively ran the slave trade and denuded the central african region . On occasions saudi royals did spawn kids with slave women and such princes were accepted into the clan albeit with the understanding they could not try for the topmost post

Wasnt prince bandar who smoked cigars with potus days after 911 also son of a freed slave mother? Saudis were the lastnation to outlaw slavery in 1964

Only the ethiopian christians of the highlands held off first the arab depredations then the italians

One of the passport scans appears to belong to Salah Muhammad al-Tubaiqi (spelled Salah Mohammed A Tubaigy in the document), listed as the head of forensic medicine at the Saudi Ministry of Interior.
In a 2014 interview with Asharq al-Awsat, a London-based Saudi newspaper, Tubaiqi lauded a mobile clinic designed to carry out autopsies in a record seven minutes as the first of its kind in the world. Tubaiqi, who was working as the forensic consultant and supervisor of the clinic at the time, told the newspaper it was his idea to design the clinic to allow coroners to perform forensic examinations and dissect bodies at crime and accident scenes.

a few pages back I had posted video links to a ISIS raid on Hajin where they killed sdf and civilians.

today vladimir putin does a khulasa of that raid.
700 people kidnapped, 10 a day execution threat.

https://www.timesnownews.com/internatio ... ces/301271

the sdf has melted away, the kurds have gone home. a hybrid of tribal militias and rebadged ISIS of shifting loyalty seem to rule the roost now in deir azzor american side of the euphrates. raqqa lies in ruins a year after it was freed. NATO seems content to use airpower to attack the syrians if they move on the oil fields east of the river.
