I just want to hear a Maslawi, Tikriti or Falluji say a remorseful "thank you" to the families of Basra, Maysan, Samawah, Diwaniyah & Babil.

Today, Tikrit and Anbar and parts of Mosul are back to their old selves. But families in #Iraq's south will never recover from their pain.

I hope Mosul's people treat Iraqi troops with gratitude from now on, instead of calling them the "rafidhi army" and bullshit like that.

the supply road may be in saa hands but is unusable before the isis can fire on it from both sides

that "hamidiyah" neighbourhood on the western bank of river needs to be cleaned out of daesh. and on other side obviously a buffer zone too. if no civilians live there perhaps heavy bombers can flatten the place?

ISIS sending reinforcements amidst heavy losses in Deir Ezzor
By Paul Antonopoulos - 19/01/20171

ISIS has been sending a huge amount of reinforcement to Deir Ezzor because of devastating losses they have sustained in their battle against the Syrian Army.

Most of the reinforcements are coming from villages in the Deir Ezzor countryside and from Iraq, primarily from Anbar Province where they are being routed by Iraqi forces.

Daesh sure has a incredible number of jihadis and unmatched ability to move around food and supplies or loot and live off the land

Perhaps 5000 between mosul and tal afar
Unknown number trapped in hawija
Sleeper cells in anbar
150km of villages and towns from dezor to al qaim
40km of front in palmyra
40km of front in shaer and maher gas fields
Deir hafr front
Al bab front
Raqqa defences in multiple rings
Shahdadi front
Tabqa and sukhnah garrison

Needs 1000s of hardened bandits to control and cow down people on so many areas and fight just about everyone...saa turks fsa sdf ypg pmu hezbollah ruaf tuaf usaf and they are still dynamic and strong

In mosul room sized sand model maps found in isis hq indicating deep levels of army group planning by ex military officers or deserters of high rank.

As a russi gen once said...daesh is not just a gang of bandits with rifles. Tough pack of boys these...take a lot of rounds downrange to put one of them zombies down

(CNN)US B-2 bombers struck and destroyed two ISIS camps in Libya overnight, with initial estimates that over 80 militants were killed, US officials told CNN Thursday.

The strikes were on external plotters who were actively "plotting attacks in Europe," Secretary of Defense Ash Carter told reporters on Thursday.

Pretty extreme to send B-2 bombers to hit ISIS camel-driver camps in Libya. Whose radar were they evading? Why not send B-52s I wonder. So it suggests that the targets belonged to whoever controls radar and air defence systems in Libya.

Vlad really needs to bring in the heavy stuff and incinerate the surroundings of D-e-Z. 14000 sh1ts all in one nice target area, like Pakis in Shomali Plain. If they are already in a cemetery, hain, fry them on-site.

Pity the Admiral Rustbucketski has returned to Russia. This needed a carrier-borne sustained operation.

Militants from the Islamic State group have destroyed part of the Roman Theatre in the ancient city of Palmyra.
Syria's antiquities chief said the tetrapylon - a group of four pillared structures which were mainly modern replicas - has also been ruined.

The B2 attack in Libya

As per US it was an intel driven operation.
A US air strike on Libya has killed more than 80 rebels from so-called Islamic State (IS), said outgoing US Defence Secretary Ash Carter.
The mission, which dropped around 100 bombs on Wednesday, is thought to be the last signed by President Barack Obama as he prepares to leave office.
Mr Carter said those targeted were "actively planning" attacks in Europe.

Makes sense now why Tulsi met DT on 21st November.

DT cannot trust anyone in the Washington Foreign Policy Establishment to do his fact finding for him. He knows the CIA are heavily invested in the Clinton-Wilsonian worldview of upholding American-sponsored Pax Saudiana at any cost, and many Republicans (McCain etc.) with much vaunted "foreign policy expertise" credentials are as well.

So he picks out Tulsi Gabbard. Combat veteran, Sanders Democrat, completely unbeholden to the Foreign Policy Establishment but with the acumen to ask the right questions, the brains to figure things out for herself, and the guts to speak the truth. And he personally asks HER to go to Syria and find out for him what's really going on there.

It's like Jamie Lannister, refusing to trust the Varyses and Littlefingers with deeply entrenched interests in Kings Landing... and sending Brienne of Tarth out to look for Sansa Stark instead.

Trump either goes all in or does not touch the findings of the investigation that Mrs Gabbard does. I would bet on the 2nd possibility.

Establishment outraged as Rep. Tulsi Gabbard goes to Syria on fact-finding mission https://www.rt.com/usa/374263-tulsi-gabbard-syria-trip/

Aleppo was an important destination.
The surfing congresswoman famously resigned as the deputy chair of the Democratic National Committee last year and endorsed Bernie Sanders for the party presidential nomination.

In November, she accepted an invitation from President-elect Donald Trump to discuss Syria and the US efforts to fight Al-Qaeda and Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL), sparking speculation that he might appoint her to a Cabinet post.
Gabbard has been a vocal critic of outgoing President Barack Obama’s policy of demanding the ouster of Syrian President Bashar Assad and blaming his government for the bloody war with Islamist rebels.
