I don't get why Pakis are so furious. For them Art 370 is as much a sham as instrument of accession. Why do they care if it is UT or state or Municipality. They could not take J&K yesterday and will not be able to take it tomorrow but may lose POK in the process.

kashmir was the idealogical dal the paki public were fed with by the army , its gone and the army is looking stupid in front of its own people .. what reason should the aam admi believe in ? at some point the paki army s existence/ idealogy itself is threatened.. this was a nuke attack on pakis no less

However it needs to be overt like the Feb 27 fight for h&d purpose. Sending in cannon fodders for denial ops does not help PR with the awaam.

Pak awaam now thinks PAF is invincible post wc abhi capture. They will go for another fight with over confidence of winning..

J&K News and Discussion - 2016

‘US knew India would rob Occupied Kashmir of special status’ - News Desk
After New Delhi stripped Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) of its special status, it has emerged that the Modi administration’s External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar told his American counterpart Mike Pompeo of his government’s plan.
On Monday, the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government revoked the disputed Himalayan territory’s special status by abrogating Article 370.
Sources inside the Indian government told The Print that this was not the first time Washington was briefed on this issue.

You nailed it. I have been saying this for years but some people do not listen (or do not want to). They start projecting their own daydreams/desires on NaMo and then crib incessantly that it hasn't been done exactly as they desired.

NaMo means what he says and he says what he means.

His usual cycle is Promise ---> Silence ----> Delivery. No duplicitous statements or backtracking in between.

All those worried about TSP retaliating nothing like that will happen in next few months till FATF meeting. By then the passes will freeze and give more time till next May.

By then US will be in full election mode and won't let it disturb them.
Basically we have nine months to prepare and consolidate.
So sit tight and "prabhu ke guna gavo!"

Exactly.

If TSP could have done something, it would have long time ago. Expect a few jehadi stunts, but nothing more. TSP knows Modhi won't sit silet and retaliate. Timing is perfect as TSP is broke, there is a China-USA confrontation, and the Arabs are facing low oil prices.

Just goes to prove that the previous "spontaneous agitations" were all carefully planned and choreographed, which is difficult to do with mobile network restricitons in place.

I think the people in Kashmir realize that with complete Indian constitution in play and with Governor's rule, all the IPC sections of the Indian constitution apply. Courts will have to follow the Indian constitution and cannot play foot loose.

So yes, the likes of Bitta Karate (Ahmad Dar) and Geela-nahi can be tried on murder charges. Actually they should be arrested immediately and murder charges brought against them and sent to Tihar jail and hung from there.

The law is now on the side of Indians and the Cashmiris know that. Hence the silence.

Or something similar to prevent hang ups like let me just destroy the constitutional assembly so I don't have to close the cycle.
If the constituent assembly dissolves without making recommendation, it should have been deemed that article 370 itself stands abrogated and Indian constitution applies.

There should have been a guard against the perfidy committed by the Cashmeres in cahoots with Banditji. For example time bound implementation of Indian constitution. Or modifying the state constitution in stages and bringing it inline with Indian constitution etc.

Heck Article 370 was introduced in 1954. Why? To protect the item 7 of instrument of accession:
7. Nothing in this Instrument shall be deemed to commit me in any way to acceptance of any future constitution of India or to fetter my discretion to enter into arrangements with the Government of India under any such future constitution.

8. Nothing in this Instrument affects the continuance of my sovereignty in and over this state, or, save as provided by or under this Instrument, the exercise of any powers, authority and rights now enjoyed by me as Ruler of this state or the validity of any law at present in force in this state.
However later events invalidated item 8 and 7 above.

Since the Trump administration was apparently informed in late feb itself, coupta’s analysis is so much crap. The key thing on the foreign front here is that Uncle Sam has chosen sides and while Pakistan can get a few quotes for the camera in return for assistance in Afghanistan, nothing substantial is going to change on the ground. Proof that The alliance with India now is in good faith - as much good faith as one can get from Uncle Sam anyways - and that when it matters Uncle Sam is ready to deliver for India. Pakistan won’t try to play the Uncle Sam cars in the future or go whining like a bitch to them. If trump sits down to mediate, they’ll fear that he’ll ask Pakistan to return POK as a good will gesture. Wouldn’t that be a hoot?!

Coupta's analysis makes most sense. This is purely a national defense move, out of sheer compulsion because Trump plumped for TSP.

The administrative changes remove unnecessary Pro-paki obstacles in managing the coming war in J&K and elsewhere in India. The political stuff is a side-effect.

J&K has it's own Penal Code. It's called Ranbir Penal Code, after Maharaja Ranbir Singh of the Dogra dynasty. Some important sections of the Indian Penal Code are missing from RPC:
IPC Section 153A: Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence, language, etc
IPC Section 195A: Threatening any person to give false evidence
IPC 304B: Dowry deaths
IPC 153A is the kicker - it'll affect a lot of phree dumb fighters.

Coupta's analysis is bunkum.

Trump is mercantile and doesn't care. India probably informed the US months back. Pompeo and Bolton probably said "do what you have to and don't come to us for anything". This is pretty much what they said when informed about Balakot attacks. They probably told trump who was busy tweeting while eating a McDonald's burger "India wants to do away with Kashmir special status" and so Trump fired a couple of tweets on how India is cheating the US by subsidizing sweater industry.

Then Melania gave Imran the side eye during his visit and Imran felt like he won the world cup (he said in the pakliament).

Paki leaders have a tendency to assume their tight musharafs will charm western women and hence their countries. Anyone remember the Shortcut Aziz / Condy rice episode?

Followed by tight jhappad by India. Now Imran is throwing towels how Melania could betray him

All the stone pelters will face the IPC and not the RPC. :)

First act of the governor should be to launch prosecutors from India and put several of the cashmeres in dock under tax and finance related laws. Show them as corrupt and hit their finances hard.

The lay Kashmiri should see how much has been looted from them and should be disillusioned in their cashmere leadership. In the meantime, ask all state tourism departments to set up their yatri bhavans in Jammu, Srinagar and Leh. In fact, the central government should acquire land in the order of several acres and invite each state to setup their yatri bhavans over there. Further each state should start its own industrial and business outreach programs from those bhavans.

Basically complete integration into India.

J&K Speaker Nirmal Singh removes state flag from his official car
As the Lok Sabha on Tuesday passed the resolution abrogating Article 370, Jammu and Kashmir Assembly Speaker Nirmal Singh removed the state flag from his official car.
With this, Singh becomes the first Constitutional functionary to remove state flag from his official vehicle.
Singh, a senior BJP leader, said, When we were in government (the PDP-BJP coalition government headed first by the late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, and later by his daughter Mehbooba Mufti), we had to fly the state flag with a heavy heart as it was our constitutional compulsion.

Aam Abdul in Pak just like others will come to terms with what has happened and will go back to praising Pak Army and COAS. Don't ask me why. As far terror threats, Pakis have thrown the whole sink at India and yet got their asses handed over to them in blue and black shade.

Meanwhile most of the Kashmir will be alright as only couple of districts are terror-rat infested while valley demonstrations are more for PR photo-ops. With Ladakh out and Jammu soon to achieve parity in assembly post delimitation, not many sunny days are around the corner for KM politicians.

Add to the fact that now state govt resources will be controlled by Mota bhai (Ask Kejriwal for further details), Life isn't going to be chai-biskoot-stone pelting cycle.
Most of the KM's want to live a peaceful life with free money from Delhi while disliking Hindus and they are not going to upset the applecart.

What does it take to make the Valley KMs the mynawritee in J&K, now that the counterbalance of Ladakh Buddhists is taken away? 50 lac bania carpetbaggers? 5 lac? Jammu has a good number of JMs hain?
Thing is that NaMo is pushing Panchayat Raj, which means some Panchayats will continue to be terrorist-run. They have to feel the pinch of lack of SabkaVikas funds compared to their neighbors before they will kick out the terrorists. This will also require heavy force on the LOC and beyond to keep out the terrorists.

In this whole tamasha, the Solution Key of the Central Guvrmand is to take away the State-level politicians' power, since they were too terrorist-influenced. Now they have to make sure the Panchayats can operate without terror.

NEW DELHI: Former external affairs minister Sushma Swaraj, who died on Tuesday night at the age of 67 years, was unique in many ways. She also has several firsts to her credit.

All these are in the public domain. However, her one trait which is less known is the unique wardrobe management.

Sushma Swaraj colour-coordinated her clothes with the days of the week. The colour of her saree, blouse or jacket varied according what day of the week it was.

Numbers from J&K Govt Official Portal

Division Population % Muslim % Hindu % Sikh % Buddhist and other
Kashmir (53.9%) 5,476,970 97.16% 1.84% 0.88% 0.11%
Jammu (43.7%) 4,430,191 30.69% 65.23% 3.57% 0.51%
Ladakh (2.3%) 236,539 47.40% 6.22% – 45.87%
Jammu and Kashmir 10,143,700 66.97% 29.63% 2.03% 1.36%

Total pop. 10M. Valley has about 2.7M KM.
28 lakh banias needed, of whom maybe 5 to 10M can come from Jammu. Don't make the mistake of assuming that controlling the property adn bijnej equates to security - ever again. This has to get done before POK is liberated.

This is actually no big deal. Some Deep South US cities have seen pop. go from 2M to 10M, with about 6M of that coming from outside, mainly Northern carpet-baggers. Financial/ Services / Technology/ Conventions industry. Then again, these ppl will not take to streets with AK-47s and pipe-wrenches and gas cylinders. Need a good number who can do that too.

There is a very direct link between the days of the week and the colors. Examine the Hindi names of the day.

Somvaar == Soma vaar where Soma == Chandra == Moon associated with White color per Jyotish
Mangalvaar == Mangal vaar where Mangal == Mars associated with Red color per Jyotish
Budhvaar == Budh vaar where Budh == Mercury associated with Green color per Jyotish
Guruvaar or Brihaspativaar == Guru/Brihaspati vaar where Guru/Brihaspati == Jupiter associated with Yellow/Saffron color per Jyotish
Sukravaar == Sukra vaar where Sukra == Venus (This I am not sure ... I have but a casual familiarity with some aspects of Jyotish)
Shanivaar == Shani vaar where Shani == Saturn associated with Blue color per Jyotish
Ravivaar = Ravi vaar where Ravi == Surya == Sun associated with Red/Copper color per Jyotish

Now her day based color choice makes sense

That reminds me of the time when she was heavily criticized, at least on SM, for her choice of green Saree when visiting Bakistan for some conference. Would be interesting to find out if that visit/photo was taken on a Wednesday.

I'm skeptical of any social engineering to change the demographic in the state, do you realise what havoc this will cause not just in the valley but in the mainland? If we speak of inclusiveness, then let the KM's get a taste of central govt schemes, most of the money sent their way was siphoned off by the political parties. Also, if you want to piggyback on the growing dissent in GB against Pak rule, show them that the valley is better off in India. Those 24 assembly seats that will be left vacant will be the bait for them to ask for liberation. Why do you even need to fight it out if they come walking to you.

Pakis have issued NOTAM partially closing entire airspace till September 1st week. Looks like they are itching to make the blunder

Don't go by SM references for such actions unless there is a source backing it.

Social engineering has its dangers, if done by forced mass migration. But simply opening doors may do most of the trick. OTOH, bringing in POK without a stable and institutionalized IJK is a recipe for disaster. POKis have long-since killed off any sane entities, just as KV drove out the entire Hindu-Sikh populations. POKis are nearly all bigoted, 8th-century savages IMO. Yeah, they may look cute and helpless under Paki military rule, but given a taste of Indian democratic power and govt. vote-bank largesse, they will be nightmares. So I say let them stay over there and be a pain to Pakjab. Yes, the 24 seats can put $$$ signs on the eyes of many politicians. GB may be slightly better, if only because of low density of population. Then again, they are like Khyber Pass East. Mostly murderous mountain goons, per my flat-land/ high plains prejudices.

All said and done, J&K is not Indonesia: the KMs are at least 50% to blame for the realities. Better not take eyes off that.
But all this talk of Inclusiveness impressing the heck out of the natives so they start waving the tricolor out of the goodness of their hearts... sorry no credibility there.

Will UP come into the 20th century any time soon? How about WB? Let's hold judgement until that happens. I think Gujarat model will be needed, and will work, in J&K. I mean with someone like KPS Gill and NaMo ruling.

Right now IMO the danger is that Bollywood types will go in and turn the Kashmiris completely against India again with their "tourist" abuses. They see Kashmir mainly as a nice Bollywood set with plenty of booze, drugs and cheap sex for the asking. I cringe even today when I see Dev Anand and Co. prancing around Kashmir in their fauz-Oiropean couture looking tres' sophisticated next to the poor and pliant Kashmiri villagers. Makes you almost admire the Taliban. The rush by the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation, conveys EXACTLY the wrong message.
