Clinton must have realised that Lies dont work and so that scarmongering and name calling "deplorable"

Her Campaigne was very divisive and the Media just covered it up so well.

This Election is a Down Vote for Obama Policies , Down Vote for Continuation in Hillary and Indictment for MSM & Reporters who did every thing to Spread Lies & Fear Mongering.

Donald was very Gracious & Humble in his Speech and Thanked Every One ........Thats the Winning Spirit

My Most Sincere Hope is Donald Trump Works for Peace in Syria ,Iraq , Iran , Russia , China as he said he would do.

Well at least it is going to be a very fun next four years.

With congress, Senate, wh, and SC - it will be unprecedented power in the hands of Trump.

Repeal of a bunch of stuff is totally on the cards - abortion rights , health care, Tax cuts , wars , budgets etc ..all of these are now at his disposal.

Paul Krugman: Our Unknown Country

By PAUL KRUGMAN
2016-11-08T22:58:01-05:0010:58 PM ET

We still don’t know who will win the electoral college, although as I write this it looks — incredibly, horribly — as if the odds now favor Donald J. Trump. What we do know is that people like me, and probably like most readers of The New York Times, truly didn’t understand the country we live in. We thought that our fellow citizens would not, in the end, vote for a candidate so manifestly unqualified for high office, so temperamentally unsound, so scary yet ludicrous.

We thought that the nation, while far from having transcended racial prejudice and misogyny, had become vastly more open and tolerant over time.

We thought that the great majority of Americans valued democratic norms and the rule of law.

It turns out that we were wrong. There turn out to be a huge number of people — white people, living mainly in rural areas — who don’t share at all our idea of what America is about. For them, it is about blood and soil, about traditional patriarchy and racial hierarchy. And there were many other people who might not share those anti-democratic values, but who nonetheless were willing to vote for anyone bearing the Republican label.

I don’t know how we go forward from here. Is America a failed state and society? It looks truly possible. I guess we have to pick ourselves up and try to find a way forward, but this has been a night of terrible revelations, and I don’t think it’s self-indulgent to feel quite a lot of despair.
-----
^^ no , its your intellectual and media bandit class who is a failure, not america.
What hypocrites! The NYT, Krugman and his ilk lost all credibility and even the fig leaf of morality when they hounded out Bernie from the ticket by underhanded and corrupt means.

be interesting to see if the american 'strategy' of supporting jihadis via CIA and kurds via Pentagon now undergoes a course correction...and what are his dynamics with putin and middle east. he has vast legions at his disposal to swing this either way...

and the heedless and stupid provocation of russia by moving nato closer and closer into its periphery, stoking the flames in ukraine and baltic.

Common Knowledge today- DT broke Republican party.
Common Knowledge tomorrow- HC broke the Democratic party.

I wonder where the comedians who were freely dumping on Trump are going to hide, especially the ones who went all out like Colbert and Oliver. Both are generally quite watchable but towards the end of the campaign were beginning to sound like obnoxious one-sided shills for Hillary

OOOO pundits what have you done. You sais he will lose and lose and lose and some more lose. So they came and came and came in some more numbers to vote.

Had MSM idiots predicted a close fight from the start, more Dem base would have come to vote. But no. Had they elected Burnee, he would have won many rust belt states hands down and even FL to win this election. But no. They all crowned HC on the first day itself and see where they have landed themselves.

he is also first POTUS in recent memory who did not need to keep up the fake pretense of being a single marriage type, devout little churchgoer ... he has kids from two marriages , his wife is foreign born, is brashly rich and unapologetic about it, her nude pics out in open ... a true reflection of the current situation vs the made up hypocrisy .

the old republican cozy beltway establishment must be having a heart attack.

The global political establishment in general,US in particular ,out of touch with ordinary people have been given an almighty kick up their backsides by the neglected citizens of the US,the "untermenschen" who wanted to claim back their country, Brexit was a dire warning to the US and the signs of the Far Right making huge grounds in Europe thanks to terrorism, mass refugee influx from the Islamic world steeped in rabid hatred for the "Crusaders",coupled with crushing economic woes, has seen this most spectacular US presidential election in our time.

A rank outsider, never a politician with no military background,a real-estate mogul from the profession least liked in the US,barely above second-hand car salesmen, brash, outspoken in the extreme, crude, rude and anything but a prude not only savaged the entire might of his party in first gaining the nomination ,but annhilated the crowned-too-soon queen of the establishment Hillary Clinton, who has now lost her presidency hopes, her reputation and her head. The election was hers for the taking.but her over-confidence in not visiting the "rust belt" of usually pro-Democratic states and her inability to understand the plight of ordinary white Americans who were experiencing not the "American Dream" but a veritable "nightmare" ,has cost her everything. To be defeated by Trump,an unlikely saviour of the masses must be the cruellest cut of all. She imagined that Black voters would turn out for her as they did O'Bomber."She's not black" said one Democratic would be black voter just days before the poll when interviewed. They didn't turn out in force for her.Even the "Mexican (Latino) wave" was limited to a few southern borderland states like California, etc. The rest as they say is history.

Nevertheless, one must not forget the catalyst of the Brexit vote. Here too the British establishment forgot or simply ignored its own "untermenschen" ,out of work citizens, who saw their low paid jobs being snatched from their grasp by waves of immigrants who brought with them their baggage of conflict from their native lands, ignorance of the British way of life and unwilling to meld into British society, but showing their "flag",headscarves and burqas. For the Brits, their "Washington" was represented by Brussels and the EU,whose bureaucracy had stolen British independence ,watering down the influence and decision-making of its own parliament and being led buy the nose by Britain's former enemy the "Krauts".Brexit and Brexit leader Nigel Farrage, who toured the US batting for Trump, showed the Trump team a similar pathway to victory.

However, the greatest factor in this triumph is Trump himself. His overwhelming personality dominated the entire electoral process spanning the last two years. He made himself the issue,a latter-day American Don Quixote ,tilting at the windmills of Washington ,who won "the impossible dream"!

Their last hope just got wiped out for good. That and Modijis surgical atom bomb on black money is extremely positive news for India.

Best outcomes we could have hoped for.

NRI cousins openly hostile & abusive to Trump on Social media.
What is it about desi US NRI relatives. They think they know best, they think they know all.
and then they go about preaching and propounding.
But then are openly hostile and intolerant when they dont have their way.
