FRIDAY TIMES - Gup Shup Section

Pakistani "Efficiency And Show-Baazi" Reported By A Fellow Paki !!!!

One from the heart

Reported as received: “Although this is my living here (in the US) and I should be happy but as a Pakistani I am feeling pain somewhere in my heart. The Pakistan embassy needed four strech limousines for the Prime Minister’s visit. The PM arrived yesterday but the Pakistan Embassy rented out these four cars from the 11th to the 25th of September and keeping in mind their poor payment record, we got the money from them up front. “Each big stretch limo with a 24 hours driver service cost them $850 (for 24 hours per day). So they paid us almost $ 53000 for this visit of the PM to the United Nations Security Council. On the other hand the French Embassy also hired our services for two cars but they did not hire luxury strech limousines, just regular Cadillac limos and only for four days (and not for 24 hours per day) but only from 11am to 11pm for $ 300 per day. “So I want to say that both the Heads of States were here for the same duration in New York and the Pakistan government paid us almost $ 53000 and French government paid us $ 2400. I can even post copies of the cheques if somebody is in doubt. “Moreover, the plane of the French President landed at main terminal #5 and the plane of Pakistani PM was made to land at the cargo terminal of FedEx. ( No need for a limousine, Fed Ex would have delivered the parcel ( to the UN office :D) What a shame!” ( Hope the Paki "Businessman" is not comparing apples to oranges ! ) In PM Abbasi’s defence, he probably did not know of these expensive and wasteful expenditures, these being SOPs crafted by unctuous babus who try and ingratiate themselves with the high & mighty. We hope the PM will look into this and change these unnecessary SOPs.

Paki.PM-at-large (and chief fashionista) landed at JFK airport, taxied to the right and disembarked at the FedEx warehouse/clearing area in the region labeled Cargo Area D, building #262. It is the smallish building on North Boundary Road, to the north of the main airport terminals. Out of sight, out of mind...but secure. There are a few paki blue collars working there...must have been a nice reception.

Ouch!!

Proposal of the Mohammadden Terroism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan to obtain support of at the UN Security Council for interfering in Jammu and Kashmir is doused in cold water by Deeper than Indian Ocean, Higher than Himalaya’s, Sweeter than Honey, As Close as Lips to Teeth, As Strong as Steel Iron Brother, the Peoples Republic of China.

Seems the PRC understands that India can muster enough support at the Security Council to prevent such a proposal being rammed through:
Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang's Regular Press Conference on September 22, 2017 ……….

Q: A meeting of Contact Group of Organization of Islamic conference was held on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly. All the members have expressed solidarity with people of Jammu Kashmir and urged the UN Security Council to implement its resolution on Kashmir. How does China view the outcome of this meeting?

A: I have noted the relevant report. China's position on the Kashmir issue is clear-cut. The issue of Kashmir is an issue left over from the history. The Chinese side hopes that Pakistan and India can strengthen communication and dialogue and properly resolve the issue. This is conducive to jointly upholding regional peace and stability.

"Bhutto- Zardari Ayesha" Go After "Lying Mush"

Benazir’s daughters lash out at Musharraf, call him ‘murderer’
KARACHI – Daughters of former Prime Minister and head of PPP Beanzir Bhutto went hammer and tongs at former President General (retd) Pervez Musharraf for accusing their father, Asif Ali Zardari, of killing their mother. Blood thicker than water
Turning down his request to think about his allegation against their father “with an open mind,” Aseefa Bhutoo Zardar and Bakhtawar Bhutto Zardari also called Musharraf a coward for fleeing the court proceedings in the Benazir murder case.
On Thursday, Pervez Musharraf blamed his successor Asif Ali Zardari for murdering Benazir Bhutto and her brother Murtaza. He also urged BB’s children Bilawal, Aseefa and Bakhtawar to pay heed to what he is saying about their father’s involvement in the killings. Rubbishing the allegations, Aseefa Bhutto Zardari took to Twitter with a hashtag #ShameOnMusharraf saying that he is “blaming the victims”.
She also came hard on media for giving coverage to Pervez Musharraf, saying: “Disgusted & appalled by media houses that are giving attention to this murderer, who ran away,” besides calling for his arrest. Mush is a "darling" of the Paki Media . His appearance and bombastic statements always guarantee high ratings
Bakhtawar Bhutto in her tweets called former general a “coward” and urged him to come to Pakistan and face offenses against him.
In a series of video messages released on Thursday, the former president claimed that the one man who could be blamed for the killing of both PPP leaders could be the current co-chairman of PPP, Asif Ali Zardari.Musharraf stated that he kept mum over the recent verdict issued by a Rawalpindi court regarding Benazir murder case, in which two police officers were punished but as Zardari blamed him for the murder, he had to speak out.“Only one individual was a beneficiary of Benazir’s murder and that was Asif Ali Zardari” Musharraf said while addressing the Bhutto family. This is Mush cheap tactic to remain in the public limelight by making these kinds of outrageous statements !
“Without a doubt, I am sure that if we dig deep into the details, we would track the murderer and that would be Asif Zardari,” added Musharraf. He concluded his message by saying that if Bilawal, Bakthawar and Asifa would listen to his message with an open mind, they would be able to rationally understand it.

World Bank Approves "Another Loan" For Cash - Starved Pakistan

114 million dollars approved by WB for financial support to TDPs in FATA
ISLAMABAD – The World Bank has approved $114 million for extending financial support to families affected by militancy-related violence, improving child healthcare and establishing systems for emergency response safety net delivery in affected areas of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA). Hope that the monies - after the mandatory "commission" is skimmed of the top - indeed goes to the deserving and not the pockets of the bureaucrats and corrupt politicos
The additional financing will help expand the support to 326,000 eligible temporarily displaced families, up from 120,000 under the original project. It will raise the number of participating families with children under 2 years of age to 300,000, up from 64,000 families benefiting from the Child Wellness Grant under the original project.

Religious speaker Nouman Ali Khan accused of inappropriate interactions with female followers
CALIFORNIA – In an untoward development, renowned Muslim speaker Nouman Ali Khan has been alleged of making inappropriate advances toward her (sic) female followers, here on Friday.
The harsh allegations against the American speaker, who enjoys widespread popularity were hurled by Omer M. Mozaffar who claims to be a friend of the speaker from last twenty years. In a detailed Facebook post, Mozaffar claimed that he was working on a case related to Nouman Ali Khan in which the scholar confessed to having made inappropriate interactions with various women. The friend of Khan expressed that apart from confession, the speaker told lies and also threatened multiple parties to further hide his misconduct although he was advising him to seek repentance and reform himself.Mozaffar also claimed that when the matter heated up, the local scholars of Dallas intervened and started investigating the matter with Mozaffaffar as arbitrator.
The investigations also included family members of Nouman who also admitted to ‘some of the accusations, though the evidence was worse’ claimed Mozaffar. Moreover, as investigations continued, Nouman met the scholars and agreed to stop public speeches and stop contacting all the women until further notice. The adjudicator Mozaffar was assigned the responsibility to keep an eye on Nouman who allowed him to post previously recorded lectures, so long as they were not about marriage or gender matters. So, what he dare not try in his homeland is "fair game" in the kaffir countries of darul - harb
The scholar has yet to confirm or refute the allegations, however, social media buffs were left in utter disbelief and shock over the information recently released about the scholar.

Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - June 20, 2017

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's attire at the UN meetings states a lot

LAHORE: Since ancient times rulers have used clothing and style to communicate their wealth, power and authority – from the red-heeled shoes worn by Louis XIV to Jinnah’s favoured caps to Chairman Mao’s simple worker’s uniform.

Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi attended the United Nation General Assembly session in New York on Tuesday where he had meetings with different head of the states and political figures but he was seen wearing a suit and white collar shirt without a necktie that would traditionally not complete the outfit.

It appeared a bit undignified for a statesman of his position and raised a few eyebrows. Agreed, politics is no place for avant-garde fashionistas, though it is still possible to dress well and follow international dress codes when representing one’s country in a gathering of world leaders.

No doubt, politics is a serious institution about substantive issues, rather than a popularity contest based on what the contenders look like but there are certain dress codes which need to be followed regardless, especially on a serious platform of the United Nations where the Prime Minister of Pakistan is going to address the world leaders.

Fact is that the right attire can be mighty powerful political currency as all eyes will be on him tomorrow when he delivers a very significant speech, his attire will speak volumes as well. If the PM is not comfortable with a necktie he could easily opt for a waist coat or Sherwani which is our national dress and looks equally elegant.

Political leaders all over the world have made impact with their attire, whether it was former Egyptian president Hosni Mubarak who had his name woven into the pinstripes of his immaculate suits or Hamid Karzai’s flowing cape and hat combo which has remained unchanged for a decade now but when American fashion designer Tom Ford describes him as “the chicest man on the planet”, it is probably wise to keep wearing the same outfit but for someone like PM Abbasi, it will be advised to follow the international dress code when addressing the General Assembly session amongst the top leaders of the world.

Munib Nawaz, who is known for customising men’s suits for many celebrities and political figures spoke to The Express Tribune and said, “What our prime minister has given an impression is that I am a rock star, I am above all and no rules apply on me.

I am not sure if that is giving a positive or negative impression to the rest of the world. Dress code on such a huge platform like the United Nations represents your personality, your culture, even your beliefs. Rule of thumb is that any political leader cannot represent his delegation or a country with an open collar shirt.

You have to either wear a shirt with a necktie or a waist coast or at least a scarf but you cannot keep your shirt collar wide open when in a gathering of world leaders. If millions of tax payer money can be used to take this trip to the United Nations, a five thousand rupee tie could have been purchased too”.

Rizwan Beyg, Karachi-based fashion designer also told The Express Tribune, “Yes I agree, It is not befitting for a head of state to be dressed so informally .Our own sherwani is just as elegant and formal had he opted against wearing just a simple jacket over a shirt”.

Japan’s Prime Minister, Shinzo Abe emerged from a warp pipe at the Rio Olympics dressed as Mario but the stunt was part of the closing ceremonies where the host nation, Japan, for the next Olympics 2020 was introduced. Abe wore a red Mario cap and was briefly clothed in Mario’s overalls but he had a suit on underneath.

For centuries, and all around the globe, strict laws have governed what people wear. From caliphates to communist republics and even in the democratic west, a moral war is waged on world leaders’ wardrobes.

Given the harshness of the spotlight into which Mr Abbasi has just shuffled, it might be reasonable to suggest he could have been forgiven for minor sartorial oversight but generally, one is not taken seriously without a tie.

When Marilyn Monroe quipped that all it took to conquer the world was the right pair of shoes, she perhaps knew more than she was letting on. Shoes, suits, ties all play some role in the lives of people who have conquered – if not the world, then at least parts of it.

Peregrine-ji:

I did some on-line "research" and have come to the conclusion that the Paki PM is dressing in the mold of the 6th President Of Iran, Dr. Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, an intellectual who never sported a tie, always had a "rough beard", and was always outspoken in defense of his country's policies. In other words, a bad sense of fashion like the Paki PM. But here the similarity must end. This guy is far from being an intellectual ( going by his stock answers !). He just wants to convey a (wrong, IMO) impression that ties are a symbol of western politics and western imperialism.

PS: One Islamic theory states that ties are "arrows" pointed towards men's genitalia and therefore should be avoided like the proverbial pork or pig

Two Can Play The "Rohingya Blame Game" :D

Myanmar foreign ministry summons Pak envoy to censure over Rohingya
The foreign ministry of Myanmar has summoned Pakistan's Ambassador to Yangon Dr Tariq to record a protest over Pakistan's ‘critical highlighting’ of the Rohingya issue on Friday.Earlier this month, Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry had summoned Myanmar's envoy in Islamabad, U Win Myint, to record a protest against the persecution of the Rohingya.According to Radio Pakistan, Foreign Secretary Tehmina Janjua stressed for effective measures to prevent the recurrence of such violence; providing security to Rohingya Muslims and upholding their rights to live and move without fear and discrimination. :((
The ambassador had assured the foreign secretary to convey the concerns of the government and people of Pakistan to the Myanmar government.

Heart Surgeon Accused Of Sexual Harassment Says That It Is A Conspiracy To Defame Him !

Surgeon being investigated for sexual harassment
ISLAMABAD: A sexual harassment committee at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) has begun investigating a cardiac surgeon who was the first person to perform keyhole heart surgery in Pakistan. The investigation was launched after a postgraduate resident alleged that the surgeon called her to his office and attempted to harass her.In her application, which is available with Dawn, the complainant alleged that the doctor used inappropriate language, due to which she approached the head of her department.
After this, however, the doctor allegedly began misbehaving with her. Hard to know what is "halal" and what is "haram" in the conspiracy theory environment of Pakiland
Pims Vice Chancellor Dr Javed Akram told Dawn that the complaint was referred to a four-member sexual harassment committee headed by Dr Shazia Khan. “The inquiry has been started, but it is too early to say if the doctor tried to harass the student, or if some conspiracy has been staged against him. It will take two weeks to complete the inquiry,” he said. Hope the enquiry is a honest one !
The accused doctor told Dawn the allegation was a conspiracy by a group in Pims that was trying to have him sent back to the United Kingdom. He said he has come to Pakistan and is the only physician performing keyhole heart surgery, and has “got sudden fame”. Explanation appears to be plausible !
“A mafia has been opposing me, due to which initially my operations were cancelled with an excuse that an operation theatre was not available,” he claimed. “After that, my equipment was stolen, due to which I had to stop performing operations and gathered tools again.” He said he has been training junior doctors at Pims, and most of his students are satisfied with his work. He said the allegation was a “lethal attempt” that aimed to have him sent out of the country. He has it good in Pakiland. He wants to stay !
A hospital doctor, requesting anonymity, said there was no doubt that the accused doctor was very competent and ready to help students. However, he claimed he could be too frank and does not pay attention to the presence of women while telling jokes."I believe that it is because he lived abroad for a long time, but he should understand that there is different culture and environment in Pakistan." If he wants to stay in Pakiland, he better mend his (western and therefore UnIslamic ! ) ways

Pakistan Sinking Deeper And Deeper Into Debt

Foreign debt servicing increases by 53pc
KARACHI: Pakistan’s foreign debt servicing amounted to $8.16 billion in 2016-17, up 53 per cent from the preceding fiscal year.
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) reported on Thursday that the country paid $6.54bn in principal and $1.62bn in interest during the last fiscal year.
FALLING RESERVES: Despite commercial borrowing, the government could not contain the drop in reserves. The central bank lost about $4.64bn between October 2016 and Sept 15.
The government has not yet approached the International Monetary Fund to shore up foreign exchange reserves. It is instead planning to borrow from the international market through Islamic bonds. The amount can be in the range of $500m to $1bn.
Would not be surprised if the above figures include some "Sialkoti statistics" to paint a less dismal pictures than what the reality is ! Figures are needed to be audited !
Just the other day, the visiting PM of Pakistan boasted in a Think Tank meeting that the all the macro economic indicators for Pakistan were "superb"

So if they want to do economic assistance, that’s their prerogative, but there’s no—we don’t accept or see any role politically or militarily for India in Afghanistan.

A Conversation With Shahid Khaqan Abbasi

A swift kick up the backside from India and Afghanistan to the Prime Minister of the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan ludicrous expectation that the Islamic Republic somehow has veto rights over the scope and content of bilateral Indo-Afghan relations:

Hours After Pak PM's Big Talk, India Launches 116 Projects In Afghanistan :
"India and Afghanistan agreed to take up 116 high impact community development projects to be implemented in 31 provinces of Afghanistan," External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Raveesh Kumar told reporters at a news conference in New York on Wednesday.

"Over and above these high impact projects, India has also offered assistance for six new projects under granting aid assistance from India. One of them is low-cost housing for returning Afghan refugees, road connectivity, national Park and economic development," he said.

The announcement came within hours of Pakistan's Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi saying his country will never accept any role for India in Afghanistan. He even went on to say that there is "zero" role for India in Afghanistan.

Interview of Shaida Mohammad Abdali, Afghanistan Ambassador to India, by Suhasini Hyder. Ambassador Abdali rejects the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi's remarks that India has no military role in Afghanistan.:
How do you respond to the Pakistan Prime Minister’s comment in New York that India has no military role in Afghanistan?

I think the remarks were unfortunate, and shows that this cold-war era narrative persists, where relationships with one country are seen as a choice against another. But any country has the right to ask Afghanistan if their security is harmed by any activity on Afghan soil. However if there is no proof of this, then no country has the right to dictate or manipulate Afghanistan’s foreign policy. It must be remembered that when the rest of the region was still colonised, Afghanistan had its own independent foreign policy. Our goal is clear, we are building our defence and security forces so Afghanistan can defend itself against our enemy which is common to us all and that is terrorism. Why should anyone have a problem with that?

India and Afghanistan share an old and civilizational relationship, and it is in the basis of this relationship that the US has now asked India to do more in Afghanistan’s development effort. It is because of India’s excellent performance in the last 15 years in Afghanistan that India was called upon. India has been the largest donor in the region, and has always had a positive and popular role for the people of Afghanistan. It should instead be asked, why is India’s role only being recognised now?
From The Hindu:

No country can dictate our foreign policy: Afghanistan's envoy

X Posted from the ISI News & Discussions thread.

C Christine Fair highlights the very close links between the Uniformed Jihadi’s of the Punjabi dominated Military of the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Un-Uniformed Jihadis of UN proscribed Islamic Republic of Pakistan based Mohammadden Terrorist group Jamaat Ud Dawa JuD.
………………. studies exhibit little awareness of the important domestic perquisites JuD affords its handlers in the army and the brutal intelligence agency that the army oversees, the Inter-services Intelligence Directorate (ISI).
a
In the last decade, JuD spawned numerous related organizations, such as the Idara Khidmat-e-Khalq (IKK, Organization for Humanitarian Assistance), declared by the US Department of Treasury to be an FTO in April 2006.10 In 2009, JuD constituted a new humanitarian front, Falah Insaniat Foundation (FIF, Foundation for Welfare of Humanity), which the United States also designated as an FTO in 2010. In 2012, the United Nations designated FIF pursuant to UN Security Council Resolutions 1267 (1999) and 1989 (2011).11 Most recently, in early August 2017, JuD has floated a political party named the Milli Muslim League (MML) headed by a senior leader of the JuD named Saifullah Khalid.12 The MML is fielding a candidate in the September 17, 2017 by-election to fill the seat left vacant by Nawaz Sharif’s recent ouster even though the MML has not yet completed its registration with the Pakistan Election Commission.13 The MML plans to field more candidates in the 2018 elections. This represents a serious retrenchment from the organization’s long-standing position that it has no role in electoral politics and that elections and democracy are in fact anathema to its interpretation of shariat. While little is known about the MML given its recency, speculation is rife about its relationship to Pakistan’s deep state. Some analysts interpret the development of MML as a positive sign that Pakistan is trying to rein in its proxy by giving it a nonlethal domestic role that will allow the state to decommission its jihad function gradually.14

I reject this interpretation. As I have previously argued and also note here, LeT is the only militant organization in Pakistan that argues explicitly against violence within Pakistan while also offering the perquisite of loyally executing lethal attacks at the behest of the deep state.15 While only time will tell which interpretation is correct, I see the emergence of the MML as a further effort by the deep state to formally embed JuD within Pakistani politics. The timing of the MML’s nascence is also notable because it coincides with the army’s exhaustion with both of the mainstream political parties (the Pakistan Peoples’ League and the Pakistan Muslim League of Nawaz Sharif) and the ongoing failure of Imran Khan’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to develop a national presence. In effect, the army has few options to engineer Pakistan’s political leadership in the forthcoming general elections.16 While the MML is unlikely to fare well in elections (as no religious party ever polls more than 10 percent in a free and fair Pakistan election),17 the MML can play a useful role as a member of a coalition groomed by the army and the ISI.
Conclusions and Implications

JuD remains the subject of scholarly and policy analytical inquiry. Most extant scholarship views this organization from the singular point of view of its external utility as a loyal and effective proxy of Pakistan’s military and intelligence agency. This singular focus upon its role in waging so-called jihad in India and, to a lesser extent, in Afghanistan significantly understates the significance of JuD to Pakistan’s deep state. Not only is it a crucial partner in prosecuting its national security interests abroad, it is also a vital partner in managing Pakistan’s internal security arrangements. JuD is the only militant organization in Pakistan that deliberately preaches the message that the only legitimate jihad is the external jihad. It is also the only militant organization that explicitly disavows not only sectarian violence, but also communal violence. This does not mean that JuD is insouciant about deviations from tawheed or other shortcomings. However, it believes that within the borders of Pakistan, the only method to deal with wayward Muslims—either ordinary citizens or in leadership—is through dawah and preaching the message of the external jihad. With the launch of the MML, JuD will be even more effective in spreading this message. Consequently, JuD will likely become even more valuable to its masters in the Pakistani army and intelligence community, even if it comes at the cost of being more difficult to control and manage over the longer term.

I don't know what these projects are; but, hydroelectric and damming projects across the Kabul river must be prioritized.

Out of the 93 MAF (Million Acre Feet) of water that the Indus delivers to Pakistan, 27 MAF comes from the Kabul river.

Falijeeji,

Almost correct. Ties are not worn because they are deemed to be in the shape of the Crucifix. Ultra orthodox Jews will also not were ties for the same reason.

Meet Eenam Gambhir, India's voice at United Nations - Economic Times
India's biting response to the Pakistan Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi at the UN was again read out with aplomb by Eenam Gambhir, first secretary with India's permanent mission to the UN. Exactly a year ago, Gambhir had delivered a similarly befitting reply to the then Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif after he, too, raised the Kashmir issue at the UN.

That takedown of Pakistan was made famous by the comment that the land of Taxila, a great ancient centre of learning, was now home to the "ivy league of terrorism".

Gambhir, who describes herself on Twitter as an Indian diplomat and a Delhiite, is quite familiar with Pakistan, having worked with the Pakistan division in the ministry of external affairs before being posted in New York.

An alumnus of Hindu College, DU, Gambhir is a 2005-batch IFS officer. She has served in Madrid, Spain, and is said to be fluent in Spanish. She has also served in Argentina and Brazil. At the UN, she handles issues related to UNSC reforms and counter-terrorism.

A dam on the Kabul River, the Shahtoot Dam, appears to be on India’s menu of 116 'high impact' infrastructural projects that India will assist with.

Besides dams on the Kabul River, I would also like to see development of roads that provide Afghanistan an alternate route to the sea bypassing the Mohammadden Terrorist Fomenting Pakistan so as to provide a mechanism to mitigate threat of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to blockade Afghanistan. India helping Afghanistan construct a 218-km long road from Zaranj to Delaram in order to facilitate movement of goods and services to the Iranian border has also been made part the 116 'high impact' infrastructural projects .

Pakistan Army Officer "Gone Upstairs"

22-year-old army officer martyred killed in Rajgal Valley militant attack
A 22-year-old Lieutenant Arslan Alam martyred in result of a militant attack on a military post in Rajgal Valley of Khyber Agency. Pakistan Amry is conducting Operation Khyber-IV in the agency. According to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), Lt. Alam was the post commander which came under attack. He was newly appointed commander of the post when got hit by a sniper shot from across the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan. He was only brother of three sisters, ISPR mentioned.
Some sort of so-called "anti-terrorist" operations is going on, these days, in the Khyber Tribal Agency Of FATA, close to the capital of KP Province - Peshawar . Obviously there is a media blackout as well . The Paki Army is learning the hard way that the "fierce Pashtuns" cannot be cowed down easily . IMO, this will have long term repercussion on the so-called integrity of Pakistan ! The news obviously cannot be suppressed for long . Bits and pieces come out . Like picnic goers "kidnapped by miscreants", police officers being gunned down in Hayatabad suburb of Peshawar etc etc. The Paki Army is killing their own Islamic brethren !

Sharif ( Not So  ) Family Feels NAB Pressure

Pakistan's anti-graft body freezes bank accounts of Nawaz Sharif, family
LAHORE: Ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Friday suffered a major setback after Pakistan's anti-graft body froze the bank accounts and seized the properties of him and his family members facing corruption and money laundering charges in the Panama Papers scandal.Sharif, 67, stepped down after the Supreme Court disqualified him on July 28 from continuing in his office for dishonesty and ruled that corruption cases be filed against him and his children. The Accountability Court in Islamabad, which is hearing the corruption cases against the Sharif family, on Friday summoned Sharif, his daughter Maryam and son-in-law capt (retd) Safdar to appear before it on September 26.Sharif, along with his children, is in London to be with his ailing wife Kulsoom who is undergoing treatment for throat cancer. IMO, his political days are numbered ! He can "enjoy" his exile in London, Saudia or wherever he likes to go ! If he returns defiantly, he may not be arrested, but his movements will be severely restricted , unless his hordes of supporters start a "street movement" , and then who knows , anything can happen after that - fauji takeover on the pretext of maintaining law and order !

NAB notices pasted on Sharif’s Jati Umra house

"Honour Killing " Makes The News Again - Like Clockwork !

Man kills two daughters for 'honour' in Peshawar
Two young women were killed by their father "in the name of honour" in Peshawar's Achar Kali area on September 20, police said on Saturday.
According to Bala Mani Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Fazal Wahid, Abdul Gani killed his daughters — 20-year-old Shamim and 10-year-old Noreen — and confessed to the crime upon his arrest. Sad. ! But this is the usual pattern. Kill and then confess !
According to the DSP, Abdul Ghani said killed his daughters because he was "ashamed at his daughters' conduct as they used to leave the house at all hours."Last year, on October 6, a joint session of the Parliament unanimously approved anti-honour killing and anti-rape bills. Such practices cannot be eradicated by passing a few laws here and there. In this day and age of globalization social media , girls education etc etc honour killing is obviously not the "solution"!
