Too Many Convoluted Answers By Immy Khan

London flat was declared under tax amnesty scheme, not in returns: Imran's lawyer
Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan, in his reply submitted to the Supreme Court (SC) on Tuesday, clarified that his London flat was not mentioned in his tax returns since it was declared through a tax amnesty scheme. The court was hearing the case on Hanif Abbasi's petition that seeks Imran Khan's disqualification for owning offshore companies and for committing tax theft. PML-N's Abbasi has moved the court for the disqualification of Imran and Jahangir Tareen, accusing PTI of acquiring funds through prohibited and illegal sources. Imran Khan, the Kaptaan of the unwashed Aam Abduls of Pakiland is trying to portray himself as as clean, white, unblemished politico, in a new mold, acceptable to the Mullah Brigade ( count out Fazl !) as well as the "liberal jet set ). But he has too many flaws for a Paki politico, major one being not to know when to open his mouth and when to shut it tight
Pointing out that the petitioner had not questioned Imran's funds for buying the London flat, Bokhari said that the issues in court were regarding non-declaration of Niazi Services, tax evasion and unduly benefiting from tax amnesty schemes. Some reporters have questioned Imran Khan's claim of "honesty" alleging that he has inherited the "taste of corruption" from his late father ! ( hit below shalwar !)
Article 62.(1)(f) of the Constitution deals with the eligibility of a member of parliament, requiring the members to be "sagacious, righteous, non-profligate, honest and ameen."The court adjourned the hearing of the case until July 31, ordering Bokhari to submit all necessary documents tomorrow (Wednesday). :((

"Smooth And Suave" Basit Has Had Enough?

High commissioner to India Abdul Basit takes premature retirement
Pakistan’s high commissioner to India Abdul Basit has decided to take premature retirement from his post. According to media reports, Basit had apprehensions for giving preference to a junior officer over senior officials by the government. He has sent his resignation letter to Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The official sources has confirmed that premier has accepted his resignation letter. Abdul Basit was supposed to retire in April 2018 originally.
The sources stated that Basit took this decision after a junior officer was appointed as Secretary Affairs and senior officers were ignored. Maybe, the "Senior Officers" were his Pakjabi classmates, or maybe, the "new crop" of entrants in the Paki F.O. ranks were "too Islami" in his "old fashioned" outlook. Who knows ! Maybe, Basit himself may have resented having to report to "such a junior person" ! Interesting thing though. Sitting in Delhi, his eyes and ears are "still tuned in" to the "office politics" of Isloo
He is serving as high commissioner in India since 2014 and resides in New Delhi. Before that he remained Pakistan's envoy to Germany from 2012 to March 2014. Basit holds a masters degree in International Relations and joined Foreign Services in 1982. During his career he remained posted in Geneva, Sanaa'a,[*] New York, Moscow and London. Now it is either " early retirement" and enjoying the "social circuit" in Isloo. Or like other Paki Diplomats, his son or daughter, or daughter in law or son in law already has Massa or Canadian citizenship and he should have "no problem" in joining the Paki diaspora either in NY, Toronto, DC, or BC or LA !

[*] Saana in Yemen is not "acceptable" as a retirement venue , unless he is of the Shia persuasion :D

Lahore victims call for attack masterminds to hang
"We demand from the Government of Pakistan that those who are involved in this incident and those who are the facilitators should be hanged in public," Hafiz Naseer ul Din, uncle of a policeman killed in the blast, told AFP. AFP not APP !

Nawaz, Mush escaped Indian bomb during Kargil WAR
NEW DELHI - During the Kargil war in 1999, the Indian Air Force (IAF) narrowly missed bombing a Pakistani army forward base of Gulteri that was hosting the current and the then Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and then Pakistan Army chief General Pervez Musharraf, the Indian Express reported Monday.According to the daily, an IAF Jaguar attack aircraft had targeted a forward base of the Pakistani army at the precise moment that Sharif and Musharraf happened to be present at the site. However, a second Jaguar jet, which was supposed to execute the actual bombing, dropped its payload outside the targeted area and away from the base after being instructed to do so.
Sharif and Musharraf's presence at the base, at around 8.45 am on June 24, 1999, which coincided with the IAF bombing run, was confirmed through an official document, claims the Indian Express. Citing the official Government of India document, the report said that the first Jaguar, unaware at that time of Sharif or Musharaff's presence at the base, used its laser targeting system to take aim at the Gulteri base across the Line of Control (LoC). However, the report added, an IAF air commodore advised the Jaguar pilot to not hit the original target. Subsequently, the bomb was dropped on the Indian side of the LoC. If, the above report is confirmed to be true, then it probably ranks as a "strategic error" by India, alongwith other "blunders" in the 1971 and 1948 wars ! Much angst would have been saved !
The flight commander of the first aircraft had lased on to Gulteri while Sharif and Musharraf were there, and the second aircraft was ready to fire the bomb when it was told them not to fire. The second Jaguar then fired the bomb in Mushkoh Valley on the Indian side of the LoC.

Now J.I.T Is Becoming The " Fixed Vehicle Of Choice" To Fix All Paki Ailments :D

JIT to probe Lahore Ferozepur Road suicide attack
The provincial government has decided to form a Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to probe the tragic suicide attack near Lahore’s Arfa Karim Software Park at Ferozepur Road, which killed at least 26 people.According to sources, it has not yet been confirmed how the suicide bomber entered in the vicinity of Arfa IT tower. The 22-hour video footage has been of least help as the cameras installed for Safe City Project failed to facilitate.I.O.W they were not working either due to quality problem (second hand Chini-maal,) lack of general maintenance ( due to lack of funds or unpaid bills ) or too complicated to program for the semi-literate security staff
The officials have claimed that the attacker came from nearby areas of the Old Sabzi Mandi. However, several questions need to be answered like from where the suicide bomber came? How did he reach Arfa Karim Software Park? Who is responsible for the security lapse? In the "First JIT" Ganja and his family were "thoroughly probed" to the satisfaction all the members of the JIT . IMO, the "Second JIT" Team needs to start the case by "probing" the Chawkidar on duty, specially if he turns out to be a Pathan from KP
It is quite possible that the terrorist came from a few kilo meters away from attack location, which means that he was residing within the area. Bajwa the rumored Qadiani COAS is "encouraging" the Mohallah Abduls to "spy" on their Pakjabi neighbours , so that someone can be hauled and tortured to confess !
JIT will include additional home secretary, top-tier officials of Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) and police.Sources revealed that the Lahore blast is closely related with the terrorist attack at Bedian Road. Both the attackers appear identical and clothed in resembling outfits. Dressed in white shalwar kamez, they had a shoe size of 8.
All people wearing size 8 chappal/ shoes in the vicinity should be immediately arrested !

Sindhis "Demand" Ban On Mineral Water !

Ban on mineral water demanded
KARACHI - Pasban-e-Pakistan President Altaf Shakoor has demanded the government of Sindh to ban mineral water in the province, till all citizens get clean drinking water.Talking to a delegation here Thursday, he said the poor masses are getting sewerage-mixed water, while the rulers and elite class people drink bottled mineral water. He said till selling of this mineral water is banned and the rulers are forced to drink the contaminated tap water like ordinary citizens, the poor masses cannot get clean water to drink. Ganja, Immy, Dus Percenti and other Paki Elites should be "forced" to imbibe sewage tainted water, when they come to Krachi !
Expressing grave concern over a report of Sindh water commission that gutter-mixed and highly contaminated water is being supplied to the citizens for drinking purpose, he said it is another proof that the corrupt rulers of this province is least concerned towards the real life problems related to the poor people. He said Sindh province provides the largest revenue share to Pakistan, but still its citizens are even deprived of the basic facility of clean drinking water. MQM - with their anti-feudal message - should include this item in their agenda and that way rope in other ethnic supporters to their cause !
He said the fresh water lakes in Sindh have been dying, while the water of rivers, canals and underground reservoirs is highly contaminated due to ever-increasing pollution. He said the scam of so-called RO plants has already been exposed and many of these very steeply expensive plants are in non-working condition.Sindh and Balochistan have always been treated as "orphans" by the Pakjabi Elites based in Isloo and La-Whore !
He said water filter plants in the cities like Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Mirpurkhas, Nawabshah, Dadu, Larkana, Shikarpur and Ghotki are not working properly, while water supply and sewerage lines have already mixed together in many cities and towns. He said in fact whole public health infrastructure in a pathetic shape in Sindh province.
He said the rulers are consuming expensive mineral water at the cost of taxpayers’ money while poor masses and their children are left to drink the gutter-mixed water and die of waterborne diseases. "Gherao" of "Bilawal House" in the Clifton Enclave should be seriously considered to shame the Zardari - Bhutto family

Sad Example Of Pakistani Non- Justice !

Pakistani legislator in SUV runs over constable
A traffic police constable was killed in Quetta city of southwest Pakistan when a provincial lawmaker ran him over while driving a SUV in an apparent state of intoxication.CCTV footage of the gruesome incident on Tuesday has been widely shared on social media by Pakistanis. There was no other car in front of the SUV of Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai, a member of the Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP), and constable Haji Atta Ullah was clearly visible. The footage shows Achakzai’s SUV hitting the constable and ramming him into another vehicle at Shaheed Faraz Sunbel Chowk in the capital of Balochistan province. Sifarish will get you off in the end, if you are "important" as in this case ! OTOH, if you a minority, you can land in jail on blasphemy charges , just on someone else hearsay accusation
“The injured constable was taken to Civil Hospital but succumbed to injuries while on the way to the trauma centre,” police official Nazeer Kurd told the media.Kurd added: “Achakzai was driving the vehicle himself and we are investigating the incident.” However, police have lodged a case against unknown persons. Achakzai is also the chairman of the Public Accounts Committee of the Balochistan assembly.
Additional confirmation that the accused is an VIP !

Pakistan at risk

With Pakistan appearing to take the threat of climate change seriously, its efforts towards climate change mitigation could make a substantial difference for future generations. However, this will require sustained commitment to the implementation of climate change policies in their true letter and spirit. Whether through international investment or regional cooperation, Pakistan must draw upon global resources and cooperation to further its progress against environmental pressures at home.

“The increases in temperature (owing to climate change) would lead to drastic changes in the (Asian) region’s weather system, agriculture and fisheries sectors, land and marine biodiversity, domestic and regional security, trade, urban development, migration, and health. Such a scenario may even pose an existential threat to some countries in the region and crush any hope of achieving sustainable and inclusive development,” says the report, titled ‘A Region At Risk: The Human Dimensions of Climate Change in Asia and the Pacific’, released on Friday at the Asian Development Bank’s (ADB) headquarters in Manila, jointly produced by the ADB and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK).

According to the report, development gains will be at risk of being reversed by the climate change induced effects unless regional states do not take urgent action, such as a clean industrial revolution. In sum, the report makes for grim reading, and should predictions eventuate, a 6° Celsius temperature rise is projected over the Asian landmass by the end of the century, with an increase as high as 8°C forecast in Afghanistan, Pakistan, Tajikistan, and northwest China.
Furthermore, according to the report, Pakistan could see a 20% to 50% decline in rainfall, whereas annual precipitation is expected to increase by up to 50% over most land areas in Asia. As a result, food production will suffer, generating food shortages that will increase the number of malnourished children in South Asia by 7 million. In Pakistan, around 159 million children under the age of five are stunted with height much less than normal for that age, and nearly 240 million children are presently at risk of developmental impairment. With a Total Population of 300 Million that is a A LOT OF CHILDREN! :rotfl:

Such a downward trend would lead to disruptions to farming communities, mass migration to the cities, energy insecurity and many more. According to the World Health Organisation, Pakistan is also vulnerable to the damaging heat effects of climate change, which is already causing 3.3 million deaths each year globally—led by China, India, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Therefore, timely response is the need of the hour to respond effectively to the challenges posed by climate change.

Though Pakistan has scores of laws for environmental preservation, weak implementation is resulting in environmental degradation. For example, the Pakistan Environmental Protection Act (PEPA), which was passed back in 1997, is responsible for mandating Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) reports for projects that are yet to begin, which can have negative implications for the domestic environment. However, it is reported that the latest metro bus project connecting the federal capital with the new Islamabad International Airport is going to be inaugurated on 14th August of next month and it has commenced.

Nevertheless, a pragmatic and practicable way forward can turn loopholes into opportunities. For example, the recently-passed Pakistan Climate Change Act 2016 is a critical step in the right direction. The law creates three new institutions to address the growing dangers of climate change: the Pakistan Climate Change Council, the Pakistan Climate Change Authority, and the Pakistan Climate Change Fund. The Climate Change Council, chaired by the prime minister, will serve as the broad policy-making and regulatory body for Pakistan’s future climate change policies. The Climate Change Council will receive recommendations from the Climate Change Authority, which will formulate policies, mitigation plans, legislation, and implementation standards needed for sustainable development in Pakistan. What Pakistan needs is a quick start for effective implementation of these laws.

X Posted from the Pakistani Role In Global Terrorism thread.

I applaud Manish Tewari for rightly setting aside the Nehru-Gandhi family dynasty led Congress Party’s reflexive hatred for the BJP and Prime Minister Narendra Modi and instead upholding our country India’s National Interest by shooting down in flames the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s attempt by Mushahid “Mandela” Hussain to put a burqua over the role that Islamic Republic of Pakistan state sponsored Mohammadden Terrorism targetting India has played in bilateral relations going into a deep freeze by deflecting the blame onto the drastic reduction in India of the role of minority religion communal vote bank politics that has been fostered by the rise of the BJP.

PTI via NDTV on Manish Tewari taking on Mushahid “Mandela” Hussain at the South Asia Centre of the Atlantic Council:
"The infliction point in India Pakistan relations was 26/11. After 2008, irrespective of the fact that whether there was a UPA government, or that was succeeded by a BJP-led NDA government, the relationship with Pakistan has been in a deep freeze,"
"There is a very widespread feeling among the people of India, not limited to the government, that actions against the perpetrators of 26/11 is a pre-requisite for forward movement between India and Pakistan,"
"And post, the attack on Pathankot airbase, when India invited the joint investigating team from Pakistan, which consisted of people from across the agencies and gave them access to actually have a look at the evidence which pointed to the fact that this was an attack which was sponsored from across the border.

"Rather than taking that evidence on board, you saw a knee-jerk reaction saying that this was a false flag operation and the Indians have done it themselves," he said.

"So, it's very easy to blame Modi or the right-wing approach, which they as a government have, but in reality, the infliction point between India and Pakistan is 26/11," Mr Tewari said while responding to senior Pakistani leader Mushahid Hussian's remarks that PM Modi's policies have resulted in worsening relationship between India and Pakistan.

There is no doubt that Indians are now generally more aware of the activities of Pakistan and want it held accountable for its actions. No government can ignore citizen pressure anymore over issues relating to Pakistan, unlike what used to be the case earlier. But, there should be large scale realization that even action against 26/11 perpetrators is no longer a precondition. After a sham probe, judicial process and pulling wool over India's eyes, any action after 10 years is not even worth it, even if all of them are hanged. I am not even sure if it is realized even in government circles that Pakistan is way beyond any 'forward movement' and only its destruction or dismantling of its present form and content is good enough.

Indian aim should not be in small increments at every iteration. We will be prolonging our agony & shackling our growth that way. More than anything else, Pakistan is the most dangerous route for the Hans against us. We must be bold enough to articulate, therefore, for the re-shaping of Pakistan.

Gents, I don't know if you all remember, but I had mentioned that Pakistan had been given a sort of "last chance" to set things right. There were many "last chances" in the past. However, the "final last chance" if you will was given around the time of the Pathankot attack. I don't think anyone said "this is your last chance. If you don't sort shit out now, you're done". But the message was clear enough. The Paks being asuras did not move towards sanity. The terrorist country, as we have known it for decades now, is finished. Some of us on the forum, maybe all of us, will see it happen. It won't be fast and it won't be just the Americans doing it. Think frog in slowly heating water analogy, where the frog is the Pakistani military. Now nobody is interested (except China) whether they change or not. That deal is done.

The above is 100% speculation.

Pakistan 'gidgidata hua US ke paas gaya': Adityanath on Kargil war

NEW DELHI: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Adityanath said on Wednesday that Pakistan "went pleading to America for help" during the Kargil war "afraid that it would end up being divided into three parts", reported ANI.

The UP CM was describing the retreat forced on the Pakistan troops by the Indian Army during the 1999 war that Pakistan started.

The conflict began in May 1999, when Pakistani troops and terrorists infiltrated into Indian territory and captured key positions in Jammu and Kashmir's Kargil district. Two months later, by July 26, the Indian armed forces managed to get back all the captured positions. The day is commemorated every year as 'Vijay Diwas'.

"26 July 1999 ko sena ne Pakistan ko peeche hatne pe majboor kiya tha. Pak ko bhay ho gaya tha ki 1971 mein uske 2 tukde kiye they. Kahin uske 3 tukde na ho jaayein isliye wo gidgidata hua America ke paas gaya," said Adityanath at an event on 'Vijay Diwas'.

("Pakistani troops were forced to retreat on July 26, 1999. Pakistan became afraid that after being divided into two countries in 1971, it would end up being divided into three parts. That's why went pleading to America for help," said Adityanath.)

The UP CM was talking about Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif seeking the intervention of then US president Bill Clinton.

Sharif was Pakistan PM back then too. He later claimed he had no idea what the Pakistani troops were up to and said then army chief Pervez Musharraf was the one who ignited the conflict.

Suggesting that the Kargil war had been a debacle for Pakistan, Sharif said Musharraf had virtually pleaded with him to talk to Clinton to "somehow" ensure an end to the conflict, reported PTI in 2009.

"Musharraf asked me to contact Clinton and somehow ensure an end to the war," Sharif said.
Clinton, in his 2004 autobiography 'My Life', talked about that period in 1999.

"Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif of Pakistan called and asked if he could come to Washington on July 4 to discuss the dangerous standoff with India that had begun several weeks earlier when Pakistani forces under the command of General Pervez Musharraf crossed the Line of Control," wrote Clinton.
The former US President then told Sharif he would not interfere in the Kashmir dispute.

"I told Sharif that he was always welcome in Washington, even on July 4, but if he wanted me to spend America's independence day with him, he had to come to the US knowing two things: first he had to agree to withdraw his troops back across the LoC; and second, I would not agree to intervene in the Kashmir dispute, especially under circumstances that appeared to reward Pakistan's wrongful incursion," wrote Clinton.

Pakistan Taliban Now Has Its Own "SSG" As Well :D

New TTP wing of trained suicide commandos behind Lahore attack
LAHORE: Law enforcement agencies have identified a new militant network, an offshoot of the banned Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), as the group responsible for Monday’s attack on Lahore’s Ferozepur Road.
The suicide attack near the Arfa Karim IT Tower was the first deadly assault by the Taliban Special Group (TSG), which comprised highly trained suicide attackers (fidayeen commandos), a senior police officer told Dawn on Tuesday. like the Pakistan Army SSG ( which also comprises of highly trained suicide attackers. !)
Earlier attacks in the provincial capital, including the one on The Mall, had been claimed by Jamaatul Ahrar (JuA), a splinter group of the TTP based in Afghanistan, he said. The United States had placed the JuA on its list of specially designated global terrorists last year for staging multiple attacks targeting civilians, religious minorities, military personnel and law enforcement agencies.
The police officer said the emergence of the TSG had raised concerns among law enforcement agencies, who were viewing it as an emerging new challenge. The TSG commandos have been trained to carry out massive and deadly attacks, he said.
There was some earlier speculation in the Paki press that some SSG commandos were dismissed from the Elite Group ( and the Army ) due to their leaning towards extreme Islamic Ideology !
Contrary to earlier reports, the police officer said preliminary investigation revealed that the attack had not been carried out using a motorcycle. Law enforcement agencies have examined registration documents of the 10 motorcycles at the site of the attack and learned that they had all belonged to the victims, he stressed. It was more likely that the suicide bomber was brought to the site of the attack by one or more facilitators on a rickshaw or another vehicle, he said.
The identity of the facilitator(s) would be hard to establish considering that the only CCTV camera installed near the site was not functional at the time of the attack. However, the dismembered remains of the suicide attacker had been sent for forensic analysis, the police officer said.
Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has announced financial assistance of Rs2 million for the families of those who had lost their lives in the attack. Those seriously injured in the blast will be given Rs1m, while those with minor injuries will be given Rs300,000 each. FBI - expertise - assistance will be called in, as usual . And the Americans will bear the cost .!

Sunni Terrorist Fragments of Unstable Pakistan - June 20, 2017

Post by Peregrine »

Long Article - Crocodile Tears - Dr. Atta-ur-Rahman’s Wailings

The HEC in crisis

In a shattering blow to Pakistan’s higher education sector, the finance ministry has slashed the development budget of all universities of Pakistan by more than 60 percent. The original budget allocated for the higher education sector in 2016-2017 was Rs21.48 billion. But only Rs8.42 billion has been released. Clapistan needs more Madrasses so they can train more Terrorists - Cheaply!

The funds were diverted towards other pet transportation schemes and left the universities of Pakistan in a shocking state of disarray, with contractors chasing vice-chancellors for funds to complete work on half-constructed buildings.

This is the lowest allocation to the higher education sector since 2004 – even lower than what the previous PPP-led government had allocated. The only ray of hope in this otherwise depressing scenario is the constant support shown by Ahsan Iqbal to the higher education sector and the valiant efforts made by Professor Mukhtar Ahmed to keep the HEC from completely collapsing due to a lack of development funds. This puts to shame the commitments made by the PML-N government to give priority to education.

The lack of funds within the HEC has resulted in the slashing of many important programmes that were vital to improving the quality of education. The most important of these initiatives involved training the faculty at top universities by sending them abroad. Until 2008, the HEC would send about 1,000 students abroad every year for higher studies so that it could develop a critical mass of highly-trained faculty members and bring the ratio of the PhD level faculty to students from 1:130 to 1:20. However the foreign training programme has collapsed and only 250 students were sent abroad in the previous financial year.

This situation has been further aggravated through the establishment of about 50 new universities by the federal and provincial governments. The expansion of the number of universities without hiring a qualified faculty is ineffective. Such measures only receive superficial applause at public functions where announcements are made in an effort to grab votes and create a false illusion that the education sector is being promoted. It lowers standards even further and spreads mediocrity.

After a remarkable period of progress between 2003 and 2008 – when several of our universities were featured in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings among the top 300, 400 and 500 institutes in the world – we have seen a constant decline over the last 10 years. We do not have a single university today that falls within the top 500 of the world according to the Times Higher Education rankings. In the QS rankings, NUST was ranked at 376 in 2008. But its ranking has also fallen and the institute stood within the 500-550 range in the 2016 rankings.

Attempts are being made to cover up this decline by highlighting Asian rankings or subject rankings instead of world rankings. However, the truth cannot be hidden. All our universities have been consistently falling behind in terms of their world rankings since 2008 and there are no signs of improvement. This is largely due to the lack of support from the government. The situation is so bad that that the budget of a good Asian university – such as the National University of Singapore – is about three times the total budgets of all our public sector universities taken together.

In addition to the collapse of the faculty development programme, we have also witnessed a sharp decline in international patents from universities because of the lack of funding from the HEC to support a patent fee. As compared to 13 patents filed in 2015, only one patent could be filed internationally (USPTO) during 2016. This highlights the extent of the crisis.

Research has also been badly affected with the budget constraints. Projects submitted to the HEC over a year ago are still awaiting approval. The programme to support free access to sophisticated instruments among researchers (with the bills for the analyses being paid by the HEC) has also collapsed. The number of analyses that have been carried out under this programme declining by over 90 percent.

The digital library programme initiated in 2005 – which provided free access to 25,000 international journals and 65,000 textbooks – has also witnessed a sharp decline and there are fewer high quality journals and search engines available. There are many other HEC programmes that have also been severely affected due to the lack of development funds.

These problems are compounded by the formation of provincial higher education commissions both in Sindh and Punjab. This has resulted in a chaotic administrative situation, with three authorities – one on the federal level and the other two on the provincial level – trying to exercise their muscles over universities.

Higher education is a federal subject across the world because of its role in maintaining national standards, the international equivalence of degrees, quality assurance and national planning. The provincial HECs were set up in open defiance of the Supreme Court’s decision on my petition – which maintained that higher education was a federal subject. The Supreme Court had decided that it had not been devolved to the provinces under the 18th Amendment.

The provinces should have tried to improve the status of colleges instead of creating new bodies to govern universities. To resolve the matter, I – along with Marvi Memon – filed a petition in the Sindh High Court in February 2013 against the formation of the provincial HEC. But four-and-a-half years have elapsed and no decision has been made by the Sindh High Court. It is in the public interest that this case should be taken up as a priority by the Sindh High Court. This will ensure that the decision already made by the Supreme Court about the federal nature of higher education is respected and implemented.

The rapid progress made between 2003 to 2008 – which was billed as “the golden period for higher education” by Senator Razina Alam – rang alarm bells in India. However, India should not be concerned as the enemies of Pakistan lie within it. The best way to destroy a country is to destroy its education sector.

I have been repeatedly emphasising the importance of transitioning towards a knowledge economy through my articles. This is the only way that we can lift ourselves out of the quagmire of poverty and deprivation. The drastic financial cuts in the development budget of the higher education sector have dealt a fatal blow to the HEC’s programmes. The government needs to understand that we live in an age where knowledge has become the single most important factor for socio-economic development.

Natural resources have lost their importance and been replaced by quality human resources that contribute towards high-tech industrial development. Following the drastic cuts in the higher education budget, we are slowly spiraling downwards into an abyss.

The Paki gift keeps giving
"A House IT aide working for Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Fla.), the former Democratic National Committee chairwoman, was arrested this week on bank fraud charges while trying to leave the country."

Fox News reported that Imran Awan was arrested Monday night at Dulles International Airport in Virginia about 30 miles outside Washington, D.C.

anupmisra Ji:
Summary of Pakistan's External Debt Servicing (Principal + Interest) In US$ Billion

July 2016 – March 2017 : Total of Principal + Interest : US$ 5.228

Thus, Proportionately for the Year July 2016 to June 2017 it should be about US$ 7.0 Billion

With the Total Exports of Goods and Services it should be about 25%

If you take only Export of Goods then it is about 30%

One will now of the Final picture once we have the final figures for July 2016 to Jue 2017.

BTW, how about sending your students to blood brother?

"Atta-ur-Rahman guy" is famous for claiming HAARP project (radio waves) based Alaska was
used by the US to trigger earthquakes globally, causing catastrophic floods in Pakistan. :rotfl: He has milked lot of money from OIC (and Pak obviously) with lot of conspiracy theories and claiming improvement in Pakreasearch by 400% (400% number is not made up by me)

His famous article in Dawn .. which made him a laughing stock in all places except Pak (where he got Nishan-e-Pakistan) ..the article ends with a chilling question:
:rotfl:

(For perspective HAARP uses radio waves (of 3-4 MW energy 10 Mhz range) about the same power as an old analog UHF TV broadcast station)

There is Dawn opinion piece by PH wrt to this...

Report: FBI Investigating Smashed Hard Drives Retrieved from Wasserman Schultz’s Pakistani-Born IT Worker’s Home
by Adelle Nazarian25 Jul 2017
The Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) is reportedly investigating several smashed hard drives seized from the home of two Pakistan-born brothers who worked as IT workers for former DNC chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-FL).“The suspects in this probe are people who worked for a long time for Democratic members in the House,” Daily Caller investigative reporter Luke Rosiak reportedly told FOX Business Network. “Brothers named Imran Awan, Abid Awan and Jamal Awan and they are criminal suspects,” Rosiak said. “Imran worked for Debbie Wasserman Schultz for a long time.”
Breitbart News previously reported that a federal employee with knowledge of the situation told the Daily Caller in May, “A laptop used by Imran was hidden in an unused crevice of the Rayburn House Office Building” and was found by Capitol Police and seized for use in the criminal investigation against him. The Daily Caller further noted, “Wasserman Schultz’s office is in Longworth House Office Building, a separate structure.”
The laptop was reportedly found hidden in a little-used section of the Rayburn House Office Building and was later seized by Capitol Police in the criminal investigation against him.Shortly after the laptop was seized, Wasserman Schultz reportedly threatened Capitol Police with “consequences” if they did not return equipment that she said belonged to her and was being used to Imran Awan.Breitbart News previously reported that “[t]he Pakistani-born Awan, who was working as a technology administrator for the Florida lawmaker, is being investigated for alleged involvement in several massive cyber security breaches and transferring sensitive congressional data offsite.”
Awan had reportedly managed to bankroll $4 million for himself and several of his relatives since 2010. Shortly after news of the FBI investigation broke on Tuesday, several media outlets learned that Imran Awan was arrested at Dulles Airport Monday night trying to flee the United States. He was arrested for multiple counts of bank fraud and surrendered his passport.
Wasserman Schultz, much to the confusion of the public, reportedly fought with Capitol Police to allow the brothers to gain access to their laptops instead of expressing concern over the fact that her IT personnel were allegedly hacking sensitive information. The Daily Caller had reported that Wasserman Schultz “inexplicably protected” Awan when news of the scandal first broke.

Thanks for the response. This analysis is interesting. 30% of their export earnings go to servicing the ever revolving debt.

Servicing CPEC loans can potentially double the current debt service by adding another $5 to $6 Bn (a report I read somewhere seems to allude to these numbers). If the defence budget continues to climb (supposedly 7% of GDP today, and probably more) from current projected $9 Billion to more to replace obsolete arms, the amount left over from export earnings to purchase other vital goods such as food and machinery from abroad will be less. Moreover, half of their exports are based on cotton and manufactured textiles. If this market were to be challenged, say by Afghanistan, BD, Sri Lanka or Vietnam or china, that would leave nothing for the rest of the industries.

Vigilante Justice Still Alive And Thriving In Pakiland !

‘Revenge rape’: Panchayat members arrested for ordering sexual abuse of teen girl in Multan
MULTAN – Nearly a dozen members of a local jirga or Panchayat face arrest in southern Punjab after they ordered rape of a teen girl in revenge for another 12-year-old’s abuse earlier this month. On Wednesday, police in Rajpur area of Muzaffarabad town, Multan, arrested 10 men from the village council who ordered ‘revenge rape’ of a 16-year-old girl on July 18, 2017.
A panchayat was assembled in after a man named Umar Wawda raped a 12-year-old girl on July 16.
Two days later, on July 18, on the panchayat’s orders, the family of the rape victim arrived at the residence of Wawda, where the 16-year-old sister of the accused was raped by Ashfaq. The local council then gave the absurd verdict that Ashfaq’s sister, 12, should be handed over to the brother of victim girl and be raped in revenge. After which, he (the victim girl’s brother) raped the teenage girl, Muzaffarabad Station House Officer Malik Arshad told Daily Pakistan. Not sure, if The Book sanctions these kind of "revenge attacks". But the point is that the Aam Abduls have no confidence in the "police and justice system " and are resorting to this kind of "frontier punishment". !
Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has taken notice ( the usual "taken notice" "directed " blah blah blah ! He has "too much on his plate" now to bother with this sort of a "trivial" problem  ) of the incident and has sought a report from the Multan capital city police officer (CCPO).
This is not the first case of revenge rape in the southern Punjab...
In another case in 2002, which brought shame to the country from all over the world, Mukhtaran Mai was raped by four men after being dragged into the house of a Mastoi tribesman in her native village of Meerwala, in Muzaffargarh district.
“Panchayats have no standing and the courts have stated the same. If they act outside of law, then the panchayat and its members should be prosecuted according to law,” said Asma Jahangir, former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA).

Paki Federal Board Of Revenue (FBR) "Smells" Money Laundering When 2785 People Report Expensive Gifts Worth Billions On Their Wealth Statement

FBR sends notices to 2,785 people over expensive gifts amid money-laundering concerns
ISLAMABAD – The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has sent notices to 2,785 people over receiving expensive gifts during the previous fiscal year by expanding money-laundering investigations, local media reported.According to reports, the people had declared these expensive gifts worth millions of rupees in their wealth statement.FBR believes this way could have been adopted by miscreants for money-laundering and tax evasion.
According to GEO News, three people declared gifts worth Rs1 billion or more in wealth statements, eight declared between Rs500 million and Rs1 billion, 97 individuals declared between Rs100 million and Rs200 million and 280 people between Rs50 million and Rs100 million. Moreover, 2,000 people had declared gifts worth between Rs10 million and Rs50 million during the last fiscal year.
It may be mentioned here that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, who is in hot waters since the start of Panama Papers case, had also received Rs1.07 billion as gift from his son in the Panama scandal. So, Ganja again tops the list; but to be fair, he is not the only one "riding the Paki Gravy Train". Why is he unnecessarily singled out ? Why are Immy, Dus Percenti and the other crooks of Paki politics and the Fauj not mentioned here ! Appears to be a conspiracy, for sure

Lawyer For US Arrested Paki Says "It Is Driven By Anti Muslim Bigotry"

US politician Wasserman Schultz fires Pakistani-origin IT staffer arrested for fraud
A.P.
United States (US) Democratic Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz fired a Pakistani-origin information technology (IT) staffer following his arrest on a bank fraud charge at a Virginia airport where he was attempting to fly to Lahore. Apart from being the "cultural capital of Pakiland", it is fast becoming the "refuge of choice" for all Pakis escaping from "world justice" /u].Wasserman Schultz spokesman David Damron said Imran Awan was fired by the Florida lawmaker on Tuesday. So, the long time employer of this double-dealing Paki, has at last come to her senses, after "defending" him for so long !
Awan's attorney, Chris Gowen, confirmed that his client was arrested at Dulles Airport on Monday. He said Awan was cleared to travel and had informed the House of his plans to visit his family before the scheduled trip.
The 37-year-old Awan of Lorton, Virginia, was arraigned Tuesday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia on one count of bank fraud. He pleaded not guilty and was released pursuant to a high-intensity supervision program, including the restriction that he not travel beyond a 50-mile radius of his home, according to the court. An affidavit filed with the criminal complaint states there is probable cause to believe that Awan and his wife, Hina Alvi, engaged in a scheme to defraud Congressional Federal Credit Union based on misrepresentations made to obtain a loan. Joh Faisalabad mae ghandu, woh DC may bhi ..... :D
Merriman said that the credit union normally does not provide home equity lines of credit when the home used to secure the loan is a rental. That's because they are riskier forms of collateral. The investigation, which included physical surveillance and interviews, determined that the couple did not reside at the property used to secure the loan. The agent also attested that bank records show $283,000 was wired to two individuals in Pakistan. "Retirement Funds" down the tube !
He stated that agents followed Alvi in March to Dulles International Airport and that she was allowed to board a flight. She has not returned. She has a return flight for September 2017, but the agent said that he believes Alvi has no intention of returning to the US. So, will she find a "new hubby" in Pakistan or will she wait until he gets out of prison and gets deported to the "culture capital of Pakistan"
The FBI agent also stated Awan purchased a flight to Doha, Qatar, and then to Lahore, Pakistan. He purchased a return flight for a date in January 2018.
Gowen says the federal bank fraud count stems from a "modest real estate matter" and is motivated by anti-Muslim bigotry. He said he's confident Awan "will soon be able to clear his name and get on with his life". A preliminary hearing is scheduled for August 21, according to Gowen. Is Gowen "confident" that he will be able to collect his legal fees
Locked
