Ok my bad, but lets stop this talk of domestic indian politics in the thread. A decision was taken about no desi political discussions on BRF, and we have to abide by that.

Veteran Barracuda shows bigger teeth than newbie sharks
First win for Team Trumpelosi and the fine art of pork-barrel deal-making. I have high hopes for this: with L'Orangeutan's nonpareil wacknoness and NancyGaddha's reptilean skills, who knows, they may fix Immigration, Healthcare and even Education. And make California cut underbrush to keep Fed funding next year. As one veteran Californian said today when my Evil 6th coujin asked if the rain had put out the fires:
No, the fires went out because there is nothing left to burn. It is so tragic.

UB, The rain did put out the fire. Akashaganga took pity on all those who died in the forest fire and came down in a downpour and washed their sins away. Like Bhagirathi.

Would be interesting to know who the oppoenents wer for research.

Trumpwa made the bad trade deals and the illegal immigration debate as mainstream things. Slowly there will be people on both the parties who are going to take those ideas.

You can ask a direct question without second guessing.

It's an analogy meant to point out that people have become immune to mass shootings and legislators are not responding to crisis.

Slain missionary John Chau prepared much more than we thought, but are missionaries still fools?

Article ends this way:
If that makes us fools, we will be “fools for Christ” (1 Corinthians 4:10).
QED. Nothing else worth reading in this "apologist" article. Put it up here since "white"-washing has started in earnest.

It does not even mention a sentence as to how vulnerable the Tribal people of Andaman are to infections etc for which they have no natural defense and this fellows irresponsible actions would have resulted in their extinction. It also does not mention whether visa was taken to missionary activity or is it normal tourist visa.

All is shows is the arrogance of the EJs.

Gun violence in the US has always been a problem and no legislators have done anything. It is a shame when people are killing kids in school and in places of worship. There are likely less school shootings in Afghanistan and Iraq or even TSP.

In fact, this missionary producer acknowledges that mainstream Christians, at least nominal Christians, disapprove of missionary activities. This is a huge victory for common sense and supports my contention that even the US is becoming a post Christian society, joining Britain, Canada and Western Europe. I would not bring race into this. Perhaps missionaries mean well and may do some good, it is the fundamental violation of human rights inherent in mission work that is the problem.

Equally troubling is that the writer, for all his intellectual honesty does not abjure civilising the Sentinelese at some future date.

Serial killer says he's killed around 90 people.
The FBI is asking the public for help and information on Samuel Little, who is already in jail for murder but now says he's killed around 90 people since the 1970s.
The US is full of followers of Jesus Christ: not a violent nation unlike *****stan.

The Wheaton College dean and his organisation directed John Chau to violate Indian law. I think the case has been made for anyone associated with that organization to have their visas cancelled.

George Bush Sr. died.He was truly a great American icon.
From a naval pilot in WW2 , oil tycoon, to shafting Saddam...with UN consent unllke his son, after Saddam's invasion of Kuwait. He earned much respect by not going after Saddam aftet expelling him from Kuwait, which happened ironically by a litany of lies about Iraq's WMDs by his son Dubya and Tony Biar. That war was responsible for the deaths and suffering of millions to this day.
Head of the constrn. giant Bechtel.CIA chief, ( like Putin) cemented the ties between the house of Saud and house of Bush.

The tragedy was that he served only one term losing to Clinton because of a failure to keep his promise on taxes.A true American patriot in the true sense of the word. A man who earned the world's respect unlike his son and the Clintons. The last of the WW2 generation giants. We salute him and his memory.

When Obomber said the Billary is the most qualified person to contest for the US presidency, I immediately remembered Bush Senior and how she compared to him.

Decorated WW2 naval pilot shot down in Pacific to be rescued, Business man, First US ambassador to China, US ambassador to UN, Head CIA during the height of the cold war, Twice Vice President. That is the resume when he contested for the US presidency.

Bush 41 was the US ambassador to the UN in 1971 during the Bangladesh Liberation War, he towed the Nixon position which was not forgiveable in the face of genocide.

In 1990-1992 he did throttle aid to TSP which no US president had done before and the outreach to Indian Americans began in earnest.

Cohen is in trouble for bank fraud of $20 million not related to Trump. An open and shut case. He is simply not a credible witness who will say anything to get out of it. The Mueller team is on a political vendetta and witch hunt. Start digging up campaigns of other presidential candidates and you’ll find lots of skeletons. A budget needs to pass by Dec. 7th or there will be a government shutdown. In that Trump can cut Mueller’s budget to the bone. Vert easy to do and bury in the bureaucratic paperwork.

I think we are looking at shutdown. Last time they have not allotted any money to the WALL and DT signed it. This time he may not if funds are not provided to us. GOP will have numbers to push that before Jan and they may be forced to do that now. It will be a major problem and a lot of weepings will be there.

Be prepared to puke.

Political Scientist Receives Research Fellowship in India
He seeks to understand whether Hindus in India are becoming secularized as the country industrializes and its people attain greater access to jobs, education, and medical care.

He focused his research on two Indian states on opposite ends of the development spectrum: highly developed Kerala, on India’s southwestern coastline, and significantly less developed Bihar, located in North India.

I don't know about "decorated" and "shot down" unless you mean "shot down to be seen to be rescued". But yes, he was head of CIA, came from "old money" east coast billionaire family who had also gone into Texas oil. Born with gold spoon up his musharraf. Member, Skull&Bones Secret Society, Yale University (where Kavanaugh was supposed to be Kavorting). Generally sneaky dude. I remember his debate with the hapless Dukakis who became duck soup with Bush's dirty tactics. Called him a "Card Carrying Member of The ACLU" and DuckieCuss cringed, instead of saying:
The whole point of the ACLU is that Americans don't need to carry "cards" proving anything: We are not the Yale Skull&Bones Criminal Society.
Bush hired the infamous elephant Dirty Tricks team, who also came up with the
Dukakis Freed Murderer-Rapist Willie ****.
And during the debate he flat out asked Dukakis whether he would pick up a gun if his own wife was raped by someone like Willie *****.
Dukakis hemmed and hawed. The Dirty Tricks Dept did America a favor, stopping an idiot like that from being elected to negotiate with the Russians and Chinese.
But other than that, Bush The First (pbuh) was no great POTUS.

I looked it up, it seems to be from 2010/11 but he seems to be focussed on the threat from China in the IOR - which is legitimate, however it's from the US POV. Kaplan may have been a Pak pasand at one time and could be changing his tune as he watches what is really happening in the Indian Subcontinent.

His books may be required reading for undergraduates in the US military institutes at West Point, Annapolis and Colorado Springs.

May have been referring to the successive invasions of India and lack of them in China....He is obsessed with China. Think PRC govt is more streamlined compared to Indian ministries

but northern china was devastated and taken over by the mongols and kublai khan the grandson of chengis ruled over most of it.
whoever was the dominant "race" at any point in time, exterminated all breeding age males of "the others" and took over all the females. a few ethnic minorities scurried away into the hills of the interior like Yunan but the central plains and the coast seem to have ended up ethnically quite uniform vs a similar sized area in India.

Was hearing about soybean farmers distress in US. They had a bumper crop, and demand crashed with PRC imports reduced by 98% due to the tariff war.
DT allocated money for distressed farmers but the disbursal takes time and forms in quadruplicate signed by four different state officials ( local agricultural agent, county, state, and federal). All explained by the chief economist of the US Farm Bureau a federal agency.
