the immediate goal of CCP would be drag on the trade war until GE 2020 in 18 months
make DT look small, mean and unsuccessful despite his pomp and threats
give the Dems and anti-trumpians good sticks to beat him with
selective leaks on his less than fabulous financial deals incl jared and ivanka.
work on the europeans and japan to contest the US sanctions , keep huawei going on 5G front.
showcase import substitutes and make fun of the hitherto american monopoly as each item is replaced. tell such cos to get out.

tar and feather him enough to make him lose 2020 and get Dems back in charge...then some deals can be made. or paint him into a corner as GE2020 approaches and he is forced to concede a deal to save his own face.

my personal assessment is the genie has escaped the bottle and US will lose face and the trade war as well. maybe what DT is doing now would have had 10x the impact in 2005 but thats water down the yangzte now. they managed bush and obama really well. and kilton saar was anyway with them on most fronts. 8 years of kilton, 8 of bush and 8 of obama - thats 24 years of a tricky transition from a junior dragon to a huge dragon. well played.

PRC may be strong but it is not so strong that it can beat the US at the moment.

The only way that can happen is for the PRC to seperate Japan form US.

That's not going to happen.

European situation prevents them from siding with any one other than US.

So unless the PRC is able to make Putin disappeare. They don't have any cards to play in eurozone.

All in all the emperor is Naked.

we can agree to disagree for now and recheck in 6 months. the fight has just started in right earnest.

in other news worldwide bookings of semi manufacturing equipment has seen a drastic drop

https://www.eetimes.com/document.asp?doc_id=1334792

Global billings for chipmaking equipment during the first quarter this year plummeted as the semiconductor industry hunkers down in the trade war between the U.S. and China.

Billings in the first quarter plunged 19 percent from the same period a year ago to $13.8 billion, according to global electronics industry association SEMI.

Equipment billings peaked in the first quarter of 2018 at $16.99 billion and have been declining each quarter since that time, according to SEMI.

^^Singha sir,
trump the bazar seller will play with the emotions of american public..anyways his core voters dont get most of the facts..so he's coming back in the remaining 4 years, he will ensure that the SD and Pentagon are both working harmoniously (as much as they could be) towards chinese decimation in various factors. Remember americans havent started hacking and stealing chinese secrets (or chinese havent been able to detect that or havent admitted that)...while its a bigger china..US will browbeat china..it will be a combination of internal and external points...(Trade war, Vietnam, India) +(hong kong, Taiwan, Tibet, democracy).
if single one doesnt work..pressure will be applied on multiple points. the two key differences in dirty britain of past and US empire is the veil of moralistic ideals and size. When it gets dirty..both are same in nature. Donald trump has unveiled what was always there..next president in 2025 may be more suave, but he/she will be the same directionally. Wait for it.

I have been to HK quite a bit and ridden many of those red taxis

I may have written this previously and will repeat it nevertheless

mostly these drivers are busy juggling 4 phones and jabbering away.
One late night journey with a friendly talkative HK chinese person…
considering I dont like to talk much to anyone....
he really vented… hatred, yes hatred and vitriol toward mainland Chinese
and what they have done to HK, even their presence!!

I was shocked at how forthcoming he was and the strength of his anti mainland views,
he even said they would rather have the british back in HK
so this is a chinese man I am conversing with!!!

so the fissures are there to be exploited by usual WASP tactics

often I have viewed the 4 letters CHINA written across Tibet similar
to the letters USSR covering vast areas of Russia/Asia

Hindus have done very well over the last 1500 years,
their distributed system has ensured survival despite many onslaughts

then adopting the infiltration resistant system developed by the WASP world
over the last 500 years has also been very positive, separation of powers yada yada..

so no matter what goes on I think; the future is bright the future is saffron….

I stole that line from this advert;

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NoAeimRHnKg

the chinese sit atop the mother of all centralized systems…
never underestimate the perfidy of albion and its progenitors
if there are fissures they will exploit them, history proves it

DT still needs to go ways to clean up American bureaucracy if this China strategy is real. I still haven't seen sales team of various companies afraid of shipping things to China as there is no real enforcement on US side. Sales teams still have India on lower priority due to American bureaucracy enforcing everything plus more. American bureaucracy, sales teams, and Chinese are seeing this as we just need to wait it out and temporary.

Powerful whites prevent Black youth from having opportunities to succeed, white controlled judicial system turns him into a criminal, and then he gets murdered by the law machinery that blacks have very little control over. White casteism has no boundaries. Oh and reporter didn't write white law kills black as it was pretty black and white.

Power grids have been a low-intensity battleground for years.

Since at least 2012, current and former officials say, the United States has put reconnaissance probes into the control systems of the Russian electric grid.

But now the American strategy has shifted more toward offense, officials say, with the placement of potentially crippling malware inside the Russian system at a depth and with an aggressiveness that had never been tried before. It is intended partly as a warning, and partly to be poised to conduct cyberstrikes if a major conflict broke out between Washington and Moscow.

The Self-Destruction of American Power

J
ust as American hegemony grew in the early 1990s while no one was noticing, so in the late 1990s did the forces that would undermine it, even as people had begun to speak of the United States as “the indispensable nation” and “the world’s sole superpower.” First and foremost, there was the rise of China. It is easy to see in retrospect that Beijing would become the only serious rival to Washington, but it was not as apparent a quarter century ago. Although China had grown speedily since the 1980s, it had done so from a very low base. Few countries had been able to continue that process for more than a couple of decades. China’s strange mixture of capitalism and Leninism seemed fragile, as the Tiananmen Square uprising had revealed. But China’s rise persisted, and the country became the new great power on the block, one with the might and the ambition to match the United States. Russia, for its part, went from being both weak and quiescent in the early 1990s to being a revanchist power, a spoiler with enough capability and cunning to be disruptive. With two major global players outside the U.S.-constructed international system, the world had entered a post-American phase. Today, the United States is still the most powerful country on the planet, but it exists in a world of global and regional powers that can—and frequently do—push back. The 9/11 attacks and the rise of Islamic terrorism played a dual role in the decline of U.S. hegemony. At first, the attacks seemed to galvanize Washington and mobilize its power. In 2001, the United States, still larger economically than the next five countries put together, chose to ramp up its annual defense spending by an amount—almost $50 billion—that was larger than the United Kingdom’s entire yearly defense budget. When Washington intervened in Afghanistan, it was able to get overwhelming support for the campaign, including from Russia.Who lost Russia is a question for another article. But it is worth noting that although Washington gave Moscow some status and respect—expanding the G-7 into the G-8, for example—it never truly took Russia’s security concerns seriously. It enlarged NATO fast and furiously, a process that might have been necessary for countries such as Poland, historically insecure and threatened by Russia, but one that has continued on unthinkingly, with little concern for Russian sensitivities, and now even extends to Macedonia. Today, Russian President Vladimir Putin’s aggressive behavior makes every action taken against his country seem justified, but it’s worth asking, What forces produced the rise of Putin and his foreign policy in the first place? Undoubtedly, they were mostly internal to Russia, but to the extent that U.S. actions had an effect, they appear to have been damaging, helping stoke the forces of revenge and revanchism in Russia.

DT has put himself in a very tight spot by constantly tom-toming about share market while taking panga with China. Most US companies have large facilities in China and there is no way they can move their operations elsewhere without disrupting their cashflows. But doing that will hurt their bottom lines which will hurt the share market that DT loves to tom-tom about. Also, Amreecan companies have huge sales volume outside of US in countries like China so taking too much panga will hurt them. All these companies will gladly take US taxpayer funded tax-breaks and wait DT out till a more favorable pres moves in. In the meanwhile a fake share market rally will be maintained just to humour him. There has been no change in the income of common citizen as wages have remained stagnant for a long time. Eventually DT will move on, companies will move on (to cheaper places) and US citizens will be left holding the bill wondering what the heck happened here.

There is no way a trade war between US and China will leave the sales graphs and stock markets untouched across the globe.
Some countries may benefit but replacing the scale at which Chinese juggernaut works is hard to achieve.
Earlier Incumbent power and challenger would battle it out on the battlefield with victor holding the head of the loser, but in modern civilized world, The Market forces determine the fate of empires.
Either they cede ground without any fight (like happened with UK) or it becomes war to finish.

The biggest challenge for China in this war would be access to IP and innovation which hardly is driven by local factors in China while the challenge for America would be to know the mindset with which DT would be fighting this battle.

I figure it its indirect as in singapore based server makers may have pushed it so high. hardly anyone but hobbyists buy a cpu or motherboard direct from intel. also things may be reexported from singapore to factories in ASEAN and India. a lot of MNC consumer electrical products have a depot in singapore for spare parts - like say canon or nikon. if a user goes with a broken DLSR goes to service center they will say "saar things needs xyz part , we will order from singapore and get it in a week". being a well connected air hub, I guess they centralize their spares depot.

What do u make of Orangeutan acrobatics with Eyeran? Negotiating for T^3 (Trump Towers Teheran)? He seems to think he can win Hearts and Minds in Teheran and Quom by the Yes Minister route, perhaps, and he may well be right.

I tell you the right ending to this is a deal where Iran takes over security of Southern/ western Afghanistan with the Revolutionary Guards pulled out of Syria and placed along Balochistan's north-west border but inside Afghan territory. With Indian Air Force providing cover along with Iranian and Afghan AF, such as they are. Israel happy to see RG out of Syria. Trump can pull out troops from Afghanistan while whipping the Taliban using the RG in Kandahar. Balochistan breaks free.

these concentration camps seem to be taking a leaf from the infamous grand wizard of anti migrants ex sheriff joe arpaio of phoenix.
the richest country in the world cannot build a few proper camps while spending trillions of rattling their sabres worldwide ?

---

he federal government told a panel of Ninth Circuit appellate judges last week that U.S. border detention facilities are "safe and sanitary," as required by law, even though migrant children are denied soap, toothbrushes and dark places to sleep.
Judge William Fletcher called the position of Sarah Fabian, a senior attorney from the Office of Immigration Litigation, "inconceivable."

Senior U.S. Circuit Judge A. Wallace Tashima told the government attorney, "If you don't have a toothbrush, if you don't have soap, if you don't have a blanket, it's not safe and sanitary."

Fabian's argument spread rapidly across the internet - and so did several tweets supporting the notion that the United States treats migrant detainees less humanely than foreign pirates and the Taliban treat their captives.

American journalist Michael Scott Moore, abducted in 2012 while reporting in Somalia, watched Fabian argue that minimal necessities, like toiletries and sleeping conditions, were not essential to meet minimum "safe and sanitary" standards.

Policy changes announced after second child dies in U.S. custody

After the death of a second migrant child in border detention, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announces it is developing policy changes, like conducting secondary medical checks on all children in custody and working to improve custody options.

"That was - let's say - below my experience in Somalia," he told The Washington Post Tuesday of his more than two years in captivity.

"The conditions were about as miserable as you could imagine," he said, describing a barren and concrete prison house. Often there was no electricity, he said, "but we had certain minimum things that kept it from being completely wretched."

He said he was given toothpaste, soap, a daily shower and a foam mattress.

Recent reports have surfaced describing U.S. border detainees held in cages of chain-link fencing, sleeping on concrete and covered with blankets made of aluminum foil, allegations that Customs and Border Protection officials dispute.

On Tuesday, the agency said that children in custody receive "continuous access to hygiene products and adequate food" while awaiting shelter placement.

The executive editor of the New Yorker, David Rhodes, contributed to the online conversation, too.

"The Taliban gave me toothpaste & soap," he wrote on Twitter, drawing from the seven months he spent as a hostage of the Taliban, a group known for abusing captives; the online thread of former prisoners has been liked nearly half a million times.

Washington Post Global opinions writer Jason Rezaian, who was held in Iranian custody for a year and a half and has an ongoing lawsuit against the Iranian government, also responded on Twitter.

"I felt if I didn't chime in, it would be the height of hypocrisy," Rezaian told The Post on Tuesday, calling U.S. treatment of children at the border misaligned with "what this country stands for." "The government is treating them like they're statistics, 'the other' and not deserving of basic humanity."

From the first day in captivity, Rezaian was permitted to shower regularly. He was also given a toothbrush and toothpaste. Rezaian asked, "If we're going to treat the most vulnerable people this way, what does that say about our actual values?"

The case heard on Tuesday stems from a motion filed under the Obama administration. In part, it argued that Customs and Border Protection was holding children in detention facilities that were not "safe and sanitary," in violation of a 1997 precedent.

The Trump administration, however, opted to bring the appeal, asking the panel of three judges to condone current custody conditions.

It is intentional...to spread word that you are not welcome..

same thing with legal immigrants as well..

I left before all this and I hear from some of the stuckees  (stuck in massa, to borrow from the mehtha)..that they feel unstable. Many have not traveled to India for a while, fearing issues while going back. One fellow sent his wife to his family wedding..said that if he cannot make it back, the family will be in trouble, but if his wife cannot get back, then he can pack up and leave

I saw a astonishing chart in TOI recently about the wait times of the "current date" for GC for indians.
for EB1 it was like 3 yrs (used to be always current earlier)
for EB2 - 10 years (for china 3 years)
for EB3 - 10 years (for china 4 years)
add to that vast numbers lakhs in queue and per country annual caps.

so unless per country caps are eliminated, indians are destined to life of penal servitude to corrupt managers and no ability to change the job role internally or external mobility. infact a contracting house as the sponsor might be better on job front as atleast one can move among different clients though money will usually be less as the house takes its cut.

https://www.am22tech.com/eb2-india-predictions/

If your employment based green card priority date is July 2009, you have already waited for close to 10 years at this time. The date is NOT expected to be current anytime in near 2-3 years.

This makes the waiting time for anyone already in the EB2 Indian queue at-least 20 years. The maximum is expected to be 151 years and average is about 40 years for an India born skilled worker filing their US Green Card PERM today in 2018. :rotfl:

so there is pushback from the white deep state about letting in too many indics/sinics because they and their kids will compete for the plum jobs in finance, law, medicine and engineering and not just serve as the underclass as the first gen hispanics & middle east migrants are doing. hey even the hispanics are moving up the value chain despite the poorer schools they get being in less rich towns , and their family networks are intact and impermeable to BHF (break hispanic forces) looking to sink their hooks in. by 2040 their nuevo middle class will be ready to challenge the currency cozy upper class for a slice of the real pie.

I think this is same reason why rich north europe countries are welcoming africans and mid east migrants but very wary of indic or sinic migration.

ofcourse the deep state will mask their movements and use the poor rural whites as the cats paw to get their work done.

Donald Trump's China tariffs to increase cost of Bible, upsets religious groups
"More than half of the Bibles printed in the world originate in China due to the unique paper and technologies required," he said.
"A Bible tax would mean fewer Bibles at much higher prices would be available to people who depend on the Bible for their daily spiritual nourishment," Jantz said.

Many universities are seeing an impact in graduate program enrollment. The number of whites in engineering and science was already low, now with increased tuition and limited Indians and Chinese, they are suffering. It’s not so much a problem for the top 50 rank, but decent grad programs in the 50-100 rank are seeing declining numbers.

This is clearly based on the location of the customer signing the deal, and not the actual location of the server. Otherwise Japan wouldn't be zeroed out and Singapore wouldn't have such a big portion of the pie.

As stuff migrates to the cloud, the biggest consumer of servers will be the nations which home these cloud companies - i.e. USA and China as of today, and companies which have significant SAAS (software as a service) offerings like SalesForce and SAP.

Yes this ie the new servitude.

On historical note Louisiana in 1848 passed a law to import Indian indentured labor just like West indies to man their plantations and this was struck down.
Looks like US has revived that old practice using the immigration card process.

And DT was thinking that H1B visas will induce GOI to capitulate on data localization and S400 purchases.

I think this is same reason why rich north europe countries are welcoming africans and mid east migrants but very wary of indic or sinic migration.

ofcourse the deep state will mask their movements and use the poor rural whites as the cats paw to get their work done.

Sahi Pakde aap.
And most of the push back against Indics is from Democrat supporting software folks who feel H1B is a rice bowl issue.
I have heard speeches since 1992 elections.

Airmen stationed at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland were recently briefed on the “involuntary celibates,” with documents cautioning them about an “increase in nationwide activity,” according to the military website Task & Purpose.

Singha wrote:I saw a astonishing chart in TOI recently about the wait times of the "current date" for GC for indians.
for EB1 it was like 3 yrs (used to be always current earlier)
for EB2 - 10 years (for china 3 years)
for EB3 - 10 years (for china 4 years)
add to that vast numbers lakhs in queue and per country annual caps.

so unless per country caps are eliminated, indians are destined to life of penal servitude to corrupt managers and no ability to change the job role internally or external mobility. infact a contracting house as the sponsor might be better on job front as atleast one can move among different clients though money will usually be less as the house takes its cut.

:rotfl:
Those are not wait times, rather “now serving” times. Wait times are supposed to be in triple digits for eb2 and 3

Here is where historical process need to be understood.
When has US been in similar situation? Domino theory of the 1950s that led to Johnson create Gulf of Tonkin (GOT) incident to intervene in Vietnam.
It destroyed his Presidency and led to American loss of face in 1970s and destroyed American domestic life.
Trump has his GOT situation. War hawks created drone shooting incident and are egging him to attack Iran. Hezbollah is the domino theory.

If Iran were Grenada it's no problem. Iran can make life miserable in Persian Gulf and farther and back last can derail Trump Presidency.

This political calculation was not done upfront. But right when planes were ready.

There won't be any strike but more sanctions

If DT does not get elected 2nd term he will be in jail. Democrats and Deep State will ensure that.
So don't be carried away by headlines.
