One Of Those "Fraudulent Farticles That Promises Everything To The "Tech Savvy Paki", But Delivers A Zero !

US varsity to pick Pak tech people
By Our Correspondent
The News International

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s tech geniuses will have an opportunity to be part of an acceleration programme of the US University to mature their super tech-ideas.
The opportunity comes at the APIThon Chapter 2, being organized in the first week of May in Islamabad, where the participants will compete with each other consuming the APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) of telecom companies, banks, ridesharing and booking services to come up with innovative applications. :(( Nothing said about time and place !
A press release said the APIthon expects the participants to come up with an upgraded or new service(s), by consuming partner companies’ APIs, in their existing or new app and/or revenue stream(s), said Abbas Ali Khan, the Managing Director of the Abacus Consulting, while unveiling the APIthon Chapter 2 schedule here on Wednesday. He said the participants would be tasked with consuming the APIs in the categories of banking, telecom, ticketing, and ridesharing. With Pakistan's "special reputation" in the world, coupled with Massa's tough stance of issuing visas to the holders of The Green Book, what are the chances, even if this is a genuine thing, of the plans coming to a fruition. Mr Abbas Ali Khan may well make a ton of money on "empty" promises( to the "tech savvy Abduls" of Pakiland, and maybe "pitching" the applicant's ideas to US firms) who want to leave a sinking ship ASAP

NAB Lahore "Goes After" Ganja Clan For Misuse Of Authority And Misuse Of Funds

NAB Lahore needs Nawaz to explain misuse of authority
April 14, 2018

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Lahore, has sprung into action against the Sharif family again as it summoned former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and son-in-law of his younger brother Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif for April 21 and April 16 respectively.
The PML-N supremo has been summoned to record his statement on the charge of alleged illegal construction of a road from Adda Plot to Sundar Mull by utilising the funds of District Council Lahore for his personal benefit. The Bureau started the probe back in 2000 during the Musharraf regime, but it remained in cold storage for over a decade and a half and was only taken up again when the incumbent chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal took over the charge.
On the other hand, Ali Imran, son-in-law of Shahbaz, has been summoned in connection with the ongoing probe into the Saaf Pani Company and having assets beyond means.
According to NAB sources, it has come to their knowledgethat an amount of Rs120 million were sent into the personal account of Ali from that of the company. The sources said the link of Imran with the Saaf Company emerged when his bank accounts were checked, adding that an inquiry into his assets had also been ordered.
Meanwhile, the NAB Executive Board on Wednesday approved the filing of six corruption references, including one against the Sharif brothers and others over the alleged illegal construction of the road.
The Sharif brothers allegedly caused a loss of nearly Rs125 million to the national exchequer by illegally constructing the two-way road, a NAB statement said. Nawaz has been directed to explain the alleged misuse of authority during his second tenure as prime minister in 1999, as the NAB says the Sharif brothers have been found guilty of road construction at the government's expense for their personal use.
NAB alleged that the road's width was increased, which swelled the project cost. In order to cover the cost, many smaller projects of the District Council Lahore had to be shut down, causing massing inconvenience to the public, it added. When you are in power in Pakiland for that long ,( as Ganja and Shahbaaz and their extended family have) corruption and personal enrichment - with the "approval " of the Deep State is a given and assumed . No one in Paki society is disputing that fact . What is strange and fascinating is that , once you are "out of favour" with Deep State , for whatever reasons, they will take all sorts of steps, legal and illegal to demonize you and make your political , financial and personal life, very very difficult . This is what has happened to Ganja and his family. And specially, the personal blow delivered to him last week by the Paki Supreme Court . So, Ganja's pretension of "financial honesty " is all hogwash. There is no doubt that he and his family has abused their position to enrich themselves . What is not being mentioned is that , if a probe has to be done, everyone in the civil and military establishment, including members of Deep State, and political opposition, including Zardari Mush, Kayani, Raheel and Imran and all others should be held accountable . ! And this is not going to happen for obvious reasons

Pressure Being Applied By The Deep State - Threat Of Govt Advertising Cutbacks - On Other Channels And Media To Stop Supporting Geo Network

Media Watch: First, they came for Geo…
You may or may not have noticed it. Slowly and gradually, Geo, once the mightiest titan amongst the Pakistani news channels, has been eased out of the selection that your local cable has to offer.
It is clear, of course, that this closure is completely off-the-books. The concerned regulatory body is unaware. Clarifying that PEMRA had issued no order suspending the channels, it said in a statement that “Shutting down of any legal channel is in violation of PEMRA laws.” “No orders have been issued regarding the channel closure or channel positioning by PEMRA” it went on to add.
This is a sad state of affairs. Local level arm twisting renders the legitimate state frame irrelevant. Perhaps when the internet completely overtakes the broadcast news media, the way it is about to overtake print, things will get better on this front. The online television channels can also be closed, but not without keeping the PTA in the loop, not without leaving a paper trail of the orders. In the current case, Geo is somewhat like those kept in extrajudicial detention. Habeas Corpus. In limbo….

Manzoor Pashteen Of PTM Being Compared To Badshah Khan By This Paki Journo

Curfewed nights of FATA
Shahab Saqib

One such personage in Pakistan’s context is Manzoor Pashteen, the charismatic leader of the newly launched Pashtun Tahafuzz Movement. Many who are rallying around Pashteen, look upon the movement as one resembling Khudai Khidmatgar and its leader as a torch-bearer of Badshah Khan’s legacy. It is, therefore, worthwhile to take a brief detour and highlight a few relevant historical aspects.

The Suo Moto My Laard Of Paki Supreme Court :D

The fiery activism of Pakistan’s Chief Justice spares no one, not even Nawaz Sharif
Priyamvada Grover

Here’s what’s happening across the border: Women in Sindh’s prisons learn about their legal rights; man who raped and murdered a five-year-old gets sentenced to death. The Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Friday declared a lifetime ban on Nawaz Sharif from holding office. Over the last one year, Sharif and the CJP have fired a string of shots at each other and the CJP’s verdict only went on to show that being in his bad books can prove to be detrimental in Pakistan. Sharif had earlier said that the judiciary had paralysed the government. “The government says that the judiciary has paralysed it. The government has no idea how paralysed we have been due to the government,” CJP Mian Saqib Nisar had responded to Sharif. Saqib is obviously doing the bidding of the Deep State
Nisar became prominent for issuing suo motu notices at the drop of a hat. Nisar had, by January this year, taken suo motu notices of 58 cases and taken up at least 185 human rights cases.
From taking notice of encroachment of public parks and littering, to issuing notice against the provincial governments for using taxpayer’s money for political advertising, the CJP has used the suo motu tool generously.

Half of Pakistan’s villages don’t have access to electricity

Pakistan’s rapidly increasing population was held as the cause for this, along with inadequate in power sector infrastructure. Problem solved

Man who raped and murdered a five-year-old gets death sentence

A man convicted of raping and murdering a five-year-old girl in Shangla in Swat was sentenced to death by an anti-terrorism court in Malakand, Wednesday. It is a "systematic and societal problem" and won't be solved by just this punishment :D

Women in Sindh’s prisons learn about their rights

The superintendent of the prison, SSP Sheeba Shah, told the inmates to utilise the vocational education they receive to earn their livelihoods once they are out of prison. Unless the whole social environment is changed, little will change :D

Potpourri

The political scene: The PML-N, Pakistan’s largest political party by votes taken in 2013, has lost its ‘N’. The accountability court is getting closer to announcing its decision and rats have begun deserting the PML-N’s ship that they think is sinking.

The PTI, the second largest political party by votes taken in 2013, is being led by Imran Khan, who seems to be a ‘faith traveller’. The PTI’s leader believes that destiny will make him the prime minister. The PTI has neither a political strategy, nor a narrative. The PPP, Pakistan’s third-largest political party by votes taken in 2013, is being led by Asif Ali Zardari who is a schemer-dreamer. Under Asif Ali Zardari, the PPP’s vote-bank has dropped from 60 percent of the votes polled in 1977 to 15 percent in 2013.

The economic scene: Never in our 70-year chequered economic history have we had a $35 billion trade deficit. Never in our 70-year chequered economic history have we had a $15 billion current account deficit. Never in our 70-year chequered economic history have we had a Rs2.2 trillion budgetary deficit. Never in our 70-year chequered economic history has our national debt hit Rs25 trillion. Never in our 70-year chequered economic history has our national debt hit Rs25 trillion. Never in our 70-year chequered economic history has the circular debt hit Rs922 billion. Our foreign exchange reserves are going down like ninepins and imports are going through the roof.

Yes, there are at least five captains on the bridge of the ministry of finance. Yes, they have all been warned. Yes, they can clearly read the writing on the wall. And yet the captains of Pakistan’s economy are bent upon hitting the wall at full throttle. Imagine, the solution that the captains of our economy have come up with is an amnesty scheme which, if history is any guide, is bound to fail (even if the scheme succeeds it is not a solution to our problems).

The international scene: The world around is changing fast. The US military has now ‘put countering China and Russia at the centre of a new national defence strategy……the latest sign of shifting priorities after more than a decade and a half of focusing on the fight against Islamist militants’. The US is at war with China – a trade war. The US is at war with Russia – a new cold war. Russia is challenging the US in Europe and the Middle East. China is challenging the US in South and East Asia.

The US has announced a new ‘National Defence Strategy’ under which ‘great power competition, not terrorism, is the primary focus’. Russia has annexed Ukraine’s Crimean peninsula. Russia has militarily intervened in Syria. China ‘has embarked on a far-reaching military modernization’. China has launched One-Belt-One-Road initiative, an ‘ambitious dream to dominate the world’.

A global economic crisis is in the making. Pakistan is the least prepared. Yes, the elephants are in a state of war. Lo and behold, Pakistan has no foreign policy. Remember, ‘when elephants fight, it is the grass that suffers the most’. The US, Russia and China are in a state of war. Our leadership is weak, and the weak get hurt in conflicts between the powerful.

Since FATA and Waziristan is practically Afghan's territory and so are the Pashtuns, Kipling's advice would apply:

When you're wounded and left on Afghanistan's plains,
And the women come out to cut up what remains,
Jest roll to your rifle and blow out your brains
An' go to your Gawd like a soldier.

One More Confirmation That Pakistan Is Slowly And Surely Being Roped Into The Chini- Global Orbit

Pakistan to be Linked with China Backed Submarine Cable with up to 60Tb Capacity

Pakistan is getting tons of additional internet bandwidth with new submarine cables systems being added almost every second quarter now. With few hundred GBs of bandwidth available only a few years ago, Pakistan is now equipped to tackle several TBs of data every second. Chini content to "fill these electronic pipelines " is also not too far away !
This is only going to get better with the latest submarine cable system, which will have two landing points in Pakistan — in Gwadar and Karachi — and will stretch across Africa and Europe. The deployment of this new high-tech submarine cable has already commenced. CPEC approved presumably
Named PEACE (Pakistan East Africa Cable Express), ( the name is very ORWELLIAN !) the submarine cable will be built by Huawei Marine and is going to be funded by Tropic Science Co., Ltd. (Tropic Science). It will be managed by the telecom giant PCCW Global which is headquartered in Hong Kong. Anyone with some knowledge of global trends would suspect that China is "using" Pakistan to achieve its long term aim of global hegemony and/or global influence/ global reach . During the process , Pakistan is not going to be "Islamic Pakistan" as it is now . Chinese cultural influence is bound to creep in the Islamic Environment of Pakiland . And some Mullahs are obviously alarmed
While we don’t have official confirmation, sources suggest that Cybernet and Jazz are going to be the local landing and global connectivity partners of the consortium in Pakistan. With a total capacity of 60Tbps, PEACE Submarine cable system will be based on 200G DWDM technology.
The submarine cable system will initiate in Pakistan (at Karachi and Gwadar), connect to Djibouti and a number of other African, Middle Eastern and European countries and terminate in France in the first phase. In the next phase, it will connect to additional countries in East Asia. Under the CPEC, there are plans to construct a fibre optic line from Gawadar right upto the Khunjerab Pass border, and onwards into the Chinese system !
Clearly, the PEACE Submarine Cable System is China’s quest to offer better connectivity between the potentially rich but unexplored African markets, and during the process, Pakistan is going to be a key beneficiary. . Not to mention, China is already helping Pakistan in deploying the Silk Route Fiber Optic Cable and Pakistan-China Fiber Optic Back-Haul — running from China through Khunjerab to Islamabad.
Increased capacity of 60Tbs is one of the features that PEACE will bring in. Another more vital benefit will be redundancy in international bandwidth connectivity as Pakistan still struggles with blackouts when multiple submarine cable systems go offline at the same time.
For instance Pakistan faced major internet connectivity issues just last year when multiple submarine cables went down simultaneously and that too within a span of just thirty days.More importantly, these new cable systems will come with more redundant fiber-optic network within Pakistan as well, offering more reliable internet with better than before SLAs. With all this "benefit" effects, will also come in the (Chinese) Internet Censorship /surveillance system which will "benefit" the Deep State

Two FC soldiers martyred killed in cross-border attack from Afghanistan

PESHAWAR – At least two security official were martyred killed and five others injured in an attack from Afghanistan near the border in Lower Kurram Agency, ISPR reported
Keeping in view the vulnerability, the Pakistan Amry has started fencing the border in order to curtail the movement of militants across the border. Afghanistan does NOT recognize the "artificial Durand" which divides their Pashtun brethren from their Afghan cousins . Afghans feel that the 19th century Durand Line ( a legacy of the Afghan Wars between the Afghans and the British ) is one of the unfinished agenda of India's division by the British. The Durand Line Agreement - between the then British Govt of India and the Afghan Emir / King expired a couple of years ago . And Pakistan has not bothered or shown interest to discuss this matter . Afghan, in 1948, was the only country in the world, which opposed the entry of Pakistan in the United Nations, because of this Durand matter

A "Red Alert" Should Be Sounded On The Perils Of These Paki- Western "Facebook Marriages" That Is Becoming More And More Frequent ! And It Is The Duty Of These Western Govts To Warn Their Women Of The Perils/ Dangers Of The Same 8)

American woman arrives in Pakistan, marries Facebook friend

MANSEHRA – An American woman travelled all the way to Pakistan to tie the knot with her Pakistani friend, she met online on social networking website Facebook.Mary Kathleen reached Haripur to meet her love Adeel Awan where she converted to Islam( 1.00 for PBUH, 0.00 for "Hazrat" Issa  ) and then solemnized marriage with him. Kathleen Agnetha has been given a new Islamic name, Maryam, and she is extremely happy with her decision. The entire village, according to the sources, attended the wedding ceremony of the couple to have a look at the American bride. This is the honeymoon phase. When reality sets in ..... (fill in the blanks )
In January, a Canadian woman came all the way to Pakistan and married her Facebook friend Qaiser Abbasi from Hafizabad. Both had become friends on Facebook a year ago. However, soon this friendship turned into something a little more and they fell for each other unconditionally.According to Qaiser Abbas, “I proposed her and asked her to marry me in Pakistan. She agreed to my proposal, converted to Islam ( this is the key requirement in 99.99% of the cases ) and we married each other.”

IMO, in 99/99% of these cases, the Paki Abduls see this kind of an arrangement as their "meal ticket" to greener economic pastures

In a first, Pakistani, Indian soldiers to join hands in military drill under SCO

LAHORE – Two traditional rivals in the South Asian region, Pakistan and India are set to make history this year by taking part in a one-of-a-kind joint military exercise under the umbrella of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in Russia
Being the host country, Russia is expected to participate in the drill with huge numbers of soldiers and weapons, while China is expected to send about five hundred soldiers. If this goes through, it is another attempt to do an = = , IMO

Lets withdraw from SCO to avoid == Problem solved.

After that we should reconsider our participation in all International organization / Groups where we are likely to get into a similar situation i.e. where Indian and Bakistani diplomats are supposed to work together.

BTW, if folks have not noticed we constantly have a stream of == in this very thread by Indian posters while wishing the world not do the same.

More On THAT Dance Number Done By Raheel :D

Gen (r) Raheel Sharif shakes his leg to Indian song at son’s wedding

LAHORE – Pakistan’s former Army Chief General (r) Raheel Sharif surprised his fellows and political commentators alike when he flaunted his dance moves during the nuptial ceremony of his son, Umer Raheel.Sharif, who now heads ‘Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition’, shook his leg to the remix version of famous Bollywood track ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ as he carried a well-stitched blazer with a yellow muffler wrapped around his neck on Tuesday. The camera caught "The Bad Sheriff" in a "Fun Mode". And his "performance" has gone viral on the social media circuit
A video clip showing the former Chief of Army Staff enjoying with others stumped the internet and left many in awe. "Privacy" should be allowed to the Chief Of The 40 Nation Islamic Alliance To Fight "Terrorism"!
The son of former military chief got hitched ( this "word" hitched is not appropriate to refer to Ex COAS 's son ; PEMRA should take "due note" and do the needful  ) to Maher Toor, who is a daughter of a businessman Farooq Toor. The wedding ceremony took place in upscale Defence Housing Authority in Lahore but only close relatives were invited. Not to worry. Separate "spreads" are being planned,in the Land Of The Sand, ie in upscale parts of Riyadh, Jeddah and Mecca where the creme de-la- creme of Saudi society, including MBS will be invited to offer their "felicitation" in cash and kind

The female converts to green flag, and male converts to green card.

Win-win for the green and white.

Shehbaz Cannot Be Seen To "Break Bread With The Enemy" In This Delicate And Dangerous Time , When He Is Embarking On Mending Fences With The Deep State :)

Shehbaz turns down request to meet Indian High Commissioner

LAHORE – Chief Minister of Punjab Shehbaz Sharif has turned down the request of Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria for a meeting.
As per media reports, after the refusal of CM Punjab, Ajay Bisaria has cancelled his three-day visit to Lahore.Shehbaz Sharif turned down the official request for meeting citing the use of brutal force and state-terrorism against unarmed Kashmiris in Indian-held Kashmir. The Indian high-commissioner was all set to meet traders and journalists during his three-day visit. These are hard times for the Sharif Clan. What, with Ganja disqualified on "ridiculous reasons" from playing "Politics" by the Paki Supreme Court . And the Junior Sharif is in damage control mode to salvage the "family's business" ie gol-maal politics. And the Kaptaan also making relevant noises . So it is much better not to "converse" with the "Enemy". Hence the cancellation makes sense, at least IMO !

PS: It is ALSO pertinent to note that the Sharif Clan has got "Kashmiri blood running through their veins" . And hence this step (not to meet ) is one way of showing "solidarity"

Can a white American woman marry a Pakistani man and live safely in Pakistan?
Hainji? And the answer is....

Yes, but you have to convert to Islam, and everyone is going to be up your butt about being Muslim and learning Urdu. If you know the Pakistani actress Aisha Linnea Akhtar, her mother is Swedish-American and lived in Isb for many years. But given that most Pakistani women who are born and raised in Pakistan don't even want to go back, I am surprised that you would want to settle in Pakistan. This is stereotyping, but I hope you are not one of those overweight white ladies having a relationship with a Pakistani guy online. I am Pakistani, and I can tell you that these guys are mostly flirts and looking for a greencard or money...they will say the sweetest things but in the end, they are mostly wusses and will marry their cousin. And they have no shame about stringing a girl along even after they get engaged to someone else. So please be careful-don't attach your hopes and dreams to someone who might not even be part of your future.
What are you going to do on a day-to-day basis there? Think about it now. Once you are pregnant, having kids, you will need to devote 20-25 years to them, and then you are already in the sunset years of life. And, then, you may wish you had reconsidered... :
Anyway, did the guy introduce his mom yet? His family? What about your family? I have heard of some girls going alone to meet their online boyfriends--they think that's cute, but to Pakistani families, that is considered slutty. 8) They are going to wonder, where is your family in all this? So I don't know how it would work.

3 Pakistani forces killed, 4 held in Durand Line clash

ByMohammad Haroon On Apr 15, 2018 - 14:43

ASADABAD/ KHOST (Pajhwok): At least three Pakistani security personnel were killed and four others captured alive during a clash with Afghan forces in southeastern Khost province on Sunday, officials said.

Khost police chief Abdul Hanan Zadran told Pajhwok Afghan News the border skirmish erupted in Zazi Maidan district shortly after 8am in the morning.

He said the Pakistani security forces initiated the skirmish by storming three Afghan check-posts in the area.

One civilian was also killed and three others wounded on this side of the Durand Line, Zadran added.

Talib Mangal, the governor’s spokesman, said three Pakistani forces were killed and four others held alive during the skirmish.

In Pakistan, Dawn.com reported that at least two security personnel deployed on the Pak-Afghan border were injured in the attack from across the border.

The attack was carried out from Khost province on a border post in Laka Tika area of Lower Kurram Agency, according to officials in the political administration.

The security forces have launched a counter attack while, according to government officials, scores of armed tribesmen from Bangash and other tribes have started assembling to support the security personnel.

Tribal elders reportedly made announcements at several mosques in the nearby areas, appealing tribesmen to join the security personnel on the border.

Following the announcements, several armed tribesmen, belonging to Toori Bangish and other tribes started approaching the border posts.

In Kunar, Pakistani forces fired at least 183 rockets into Dangam, Sheltan, Marawara districts since Saturday morning, injuring a girl, said police spokesman Fareed Dehqan.

Russia delivers advanced combat helicopters to Pakistan Army
15 Apr, 2018

ISLAMABAD - The Pakistan Army Aviation Corps has begun receiving the Mi-35 assault helicopters it ordered from Russia back in 2015, according to a report in *The Diplomat <link>* .
Appears to be from a "reliable source" ie "The Diplomat". Timing is interesting . Just when reports are coming in of some Afghan - Paki fighting in the Khost region of S.E. Afghanistan
Citing an earlier article that appeared on *Quwa Defense News and Analysis Group*, the Tokyo-based online international news magazine reported that a video has appeared to have surface on the social media which shows a Mi-35 helicopter draped in the colours of the Pakistan Armed Forces flying somewhere in the country. ISPR , the propagandu arm of the Paki Fauj should come up with some photus to put these "unsubstantiated rumours" to rest
*The Diplomat* also stated that an import-export log appeared to record the delivery of helicopter-related equipment, including ammunition, from Russian state-owned defense exporter Rosoboronexport to the Pakistan Army.Last year, it was reported that Russia had handed over four Mi-35M helicopters to Pakistan Army Aviation Corps. However, the Japanese publication noted that the delivery of these choppers likely took place in Russia , and the actual transfer of gunships took place later. Who is going to pay for these "brand new toys" which will also likely to used to "hunt" the Pashtuns of FATA :x
“The contract was signed, we received all four cars [Mi-35Ms] and now we get new equipment,” Brigadier General Waheed Mumtaz of Pakistan’s Defense Export Promotion Organisation said in Moscow at the time.Islamabad and Moscow concluded the $153 million helicopter deal during then-chief of army staff General (retd) Raheel Sharif’s visit to Russia in June 2016. A preliminary contract was signed at the Pakistan Army General Headquarters in Rawalpindi in August 2015. More diversion of scarce funds to fund the fauj's appetite for new arms !
The Mi-35M attack helicopter, the export version of the Mi-24 gunship, was developed by the Mil Moscow Helicopter Plant and has been produced in Russia since 2005. Next to serving in the Russian military, the aircraft has been exported to Azerbaijan, Brazil, Iraq, and Venezuela. The company website of Russian Helicopters notes that the Mi-35 is particularly suited for mountainous terrain and can be deployed “round the clock” in adverse weather conditions. The website added that the helicopter offers “combat use of guided and unguided weapons in regular and challenging climate conditions” and is “operational for attack flights at altitudes of 10-25 m daytime and 50 m at night over land or water.”
The helicopter can be deployed for a host of different missions, including transporting up to eight paratroopers and carrying military supplies weighing up to 1,500 kg internally and 2,400 kg externally. The Mi-35M is armed with a mounted twin-barrel GSh-23V 23 millimeter cannon and 80 and 120 millimeter rockets, as well as anti-tank guided missiles. The Pakistan military has expressed an interested in procuring up to 20 new Mi-35M helicopters in years ahead. “Given the cost of building the necessary Mi-35M logistics and maintenance infrastructure, expanding the fleet beyond four aircraft would financially be a sound decision for the Pakistani military,” the author of the report in *The Diplomat*underlined. Pakistan is of course getting more cozier to Russia, now that Massa has inserting its Big Danda up Paki Musharraf . IMO, this is a transactional arrangement, not a strategic change by Moscow. The "real" litmus test of this change is when Putin finally steps on Paki soil and ultimately accepts the long standing invitation to visit Pakiland

Pakiland Decides To "Dig Its Own Grave " And Go In For Additional Debt To Relieve The Tremendous Financial Pressure On Its Economy

Pakistan likely to borrow unprecedented $13 billion loan in next fiscal year
15 Apr, 2018

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan has planned to borrow a record-breaking $13 billion in the next fiscal year alone, nearly 63% higher than the outgoing fiscal year’s original estimates, meant largely to repay previously obtained loans and stabilise nose-diving foreign currency reserves. The provisional estimate to borrow $13 billion has been prepared for the budget 2018-19 the PML-N government wants to unveil on April 27, said sources at the Ministry of Finance. If the plan materialises, it will be the highest borrowing in a single year in Pakistan’s 71-year history.
April 27, is still almost 2 weeks away . If "due diligence" is not performed in these calculations for various reasons ( as is usually the case !) the figure of $ 13 Billion( with a Big B ) is likely to increase ! :D
In fiscal year 2016-17, Pakistan borrowed $10.4 billion. However, it has not yet confirmed whether the government will present a realistic plan of Foreign Economic Assistance in parliament on April 27 or like previous five occasions, it will understate the foreign borrowing plan. ( For H&D purposes !)
The estimated foreign borrowings for fiscal year 2018-19 are $5.1 billion or 63% higher than the original estimates for fiscal year 2017-18. Former finance minister Ishaq Dar had presented only $8 billion as the foreign borrowing plan in parliament for the outgoing fiscal year. However, the government has already borrowed $7.3 billion in just eight months. Sialkoti statistics to pull wool over the eyes
The plan does not include borrowings from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), as at this stage the outgoing government does not want to avail another bailout. It has relied heavily on extensive foreign borrowings to remain afloat, as the government has failed to attract non-debt creating foreign inflows. During its first four and a half years, the PML-N government took over $40 billion in foreign loans, throwing the country deep into debt. Fraudster Dar's "brilliant strategy" to stablize foreign reserves with more debt has now come home to roost, and the "strategist" is holed up in Londonistan
The IMF has recently projected that Pakistan’s external debt and liabilities will peak to $93.2 billion by June this year, which in 2013, when the PML-N took over, were nearly $61 billion. The government will have added over $32 billion in five years.
For the next year, a majority of the loans, amounting to $4.7 billion, has been estimated to be received from three multilateral agencies – the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB). The ADB loans for next fiscal year are estimated at $1.1 billion, the IDB loans at $1.5 billion and the World Bank at $2.02 billion. The World Bank’s loan estimates appear unrealistic, as the lender is unlikely to give huge sum without the IMF umbrella.
And the IMF , which is "controlled" by Massa is in no mood to "oblige" Pakistan because of its massive perfidy . So Pakistan will have to "look for financial relief"- as usual - to Saudia , various Islami financial outfits and to "Dragon China"
From bilateral sources, Pakistan expects $3.5 billion in loans in the next fiscal year, said sources. This included $2.9 billion from China alone, which in recent years has become the country’s single largest helper.Pakistan also plans to float $3 billion worth of Euro and Sukuk bonds, partly to repay the previous loans obtained by the PML-N. In April 2014, the PML-N government had raised $1 billion for five years at a fixed rate of 7.25% through the Eurobond. This bond will mature next fiscal year. The government also plans to take $2 billion foreign commercial loans, which remains its favourite tool in past five years to relieve pressure from the external account.( Will the "beg and borrow" mantra work this time, is anybody's guess. The lenders will probably extract their pound of flesh  )
“An elevated current account deficit and increased external obligations are expected to double external financing needs in the medium term, taking a further toll on foreign exchange reserves,” according to the IMF’s recent report on Pakistan’s economy.
It added that a higher current account deficit and rising external debt servicing are expected to lead to higher external financing needs, which could increase to $27 billion in fiscal year 2018-19.The IMF has projected that in the next fiscal year Pakistan’s current account deficit could be as high as $4.4% of GDP. The military is "sucking off" the major portions of these scarce resources from the budget at an alarming rate and nothing is being discussed in the Paki Media, and no one dare blame the military for usurping the funds , and no one has suggestions as to how to "tame this monster".

Terroristani Yasir Arafat Kicks Fellow Terroristani Afridi's Tush!

‘Makes no sense’: Yasir Arafat suggests Shahid Afridi to stay away from politics

Former Pakistani all-rounder Yasir Arafat believes Shahid Afridi should stay away from politics as it isn’t befitting for a sportsman to comment on foreign affairs.

Arafat, in his blog for PakPassion, said Afridi’s recent social media spat with Indian cricketers didn’t look good and politics should be discussed by politicians only.

“The recent spat on social media between Shahid Afridi and a few Indian cricketers has caused some controversy,” he wrote. “Let me say that I am a firm believer in the approach that a politician’s job is to practice politics, whilst a sportsman’s job is to play a sport on the field.”

He continued: “It makes no sense and does not seem right for me as a sportsman, who knows little about foreign affairs, to start discussing such matters on social media. Let the politicians handle such matters and as sportsmen, talking on these issues does not look nice under any circumstance.”

On West Indies’ tour of Pakistan

Arafat said West Indies’ recent three-match T20I series in Karachi has provided a perfect blue-print, which will motivate now other boards to send their teams to Pakistan.

“We must accept the fact that it is up to the boards of the various countries to decide whether their teams will visit Pakistan or not,” he wrote. “The inputs regarding the security situation in Pakistan of the various players’ associations for each country such as England, Australia or New Zealand also play an important role in the final decision by the boards of different countries to tour Pakistan. The good news as far as Pakistan is concerned is that the series against the West Indies passed by without any incident or mishap. The tour can therefore be deemed a complete success from an organisational point of view.”

He continued by congratulating all parties concerned for organising a successful series in Karachi.

“I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations to the Government of Pakistan, the security forces and the Pakistan Cricket Board for all arrangements regarding the successful tour by the West Indies,” he said.

Oxford Union Debate : " Young, Oxford Based Pakis Now "Regret" The Partition Of India

At Oxford, a stereotype on Partition is busted
Amit Roy

London: The motion that "This House Regrets the Partition of India" has been carried by the Oxford Union Society by 108 votes to 76. The debate took place nearly three years after Shashi Tharoor's sensational speech in May 2015 in support of the motion that "This House believes Britain owes reparations to her former colonies". This time both sides expressed sorrow at the horrors that accompanied the Partition of India.
But those who spoke in favour of the motion - Sabriyah Saeed, an undergraduate from Somerville College and the Oxford Union's librarian; Mahatma Gandhi's grandson, Professor Rajmohan Gandhi, an academic at the Illinois University; and the current president of the Indian Journalists' Association, Ashis Ray - took the view that Hindus and Muslims could have lived together.
Those who opposed the motion included Eric Sukumaran, an MBA student from the Saïd Business School in Oxford; Salman Khurshid, former external affairs minister; and Professor Mridula Mukherjee from Jawaharlal Nehru University. The opposition's case basically was that it was better to accept the fact of the Partition, however traumatic it had been - and then move on. Many "important" people, like a "famous" Nobel Laureate author - of Indian origin subscribe to the later view that in the long run it is better for all concerned that a partition "happened" and a separate entity for the "Followers of the Book" was created, specially after the communal stokings of the fire ( eg Direct Action Day ) by DJinnah. If this had not happened, there would have been Daily Direct Action Days
Sabriyah was not the only one in a sari - "Madam President" Laali Vadlamani, of Trinity College, wore one, too. The debate took place in early March but its contents have just been made available by the Oxford Union.
The motion considered by the House was as follows: "Over 70 years ago, the world witnessed one of the largest forced migrations in history, with the movement of 14 million people across a divided and soul-searching nation. Do we regret the Partition for the onslaught of religious violence and vast loss of life, or has the Partition given hope and opportunity for an independent future?" Sabriyah's passionate and eloquent contribution makes clear that younger Pakistanis do not always subscribe to the party line on India.
But the influence of Malsi and the so-called Paki Ideology on young, impressionable minds is tremendous in Pakiland, including the widely held belief - due to the propagandu education syllabi- that Hindus and Muslims cannot live together . ! All Paki rulers are responsible for this, the main culprit is of course Zia !
"Partition is something to regret. Consider the deep-rooted animosities that still plague India and Pakistan," she said."I have thought long and hard about what I should say in this debate, primarily because I knew that should I plan to visit India or Pakistan in the future, my visa status may be a point of difficulty. But as the only Pakistani speaking in this debate, I feel a sense of responsibility - an even greater sense of responsibility now that I have decided to be on the side of the debate which is not typically or traditionally Pakistani. "However, to confine this debate to the dynamic of India versus Pakistan I think would be ignorant of the nuance and immense complexity of the Partition."
In opposing the motion, Khursid, an Oxford man himself, quoted Dr Aziz's emotional tirade directed against Cyril Fielding in E.M. Forster's A Passage to India: "'Down with the English, anyhow, that's certain, clear out you fellows, double quick, I say - we may hate one another but we hate you most... we will drive every blasted Englishman into the sea... and then you and I shall be friends.'" He made the point: "Some relations are like Aziz and Fielding: harmony comes but it comes after partition."
Khurshid was supported by Mukherjee, who began: "I am a humble practitioner of the historian's craft and my comfort zone is within the walls of the archives. And it is that perspective I bring to this debate."I oppose this motion because the Partition did indeed become unavoidable in 1947... and it is ahistorical to regret something to which there was no alternative." In supporting the motion, Gandhi partly blamed Britain and specifically Winston Churchill for the Partition."In the Partition we live to regret, Great Britain played a role. In March 1945, four months before he would lose office as Prime Minister, Winston Churchill instructed Archibald Wavell, India's viceroy at the time, to ensure that India was divided into 'Hindustan, Pakistan, Princestan, etc'."In supporting the motion I express sorrow at the Partition's pain and dismay at the Partition's brutal cost but I do not desire the undoing of the Partition." There is no doubt that the Brits paid a nefarious role in the creation of Pakistan . And true to form, Pakistan became a lackey of the West ( Against Soviet Union ) joining CENTO and SEATO, ostensibly for the purpose of "fighting communism" but in reality to obtain arms and aid to fight India
But "to welcome that Partition is to imply that people with different backgrounds and different bloodlines cannot live together in one nation - a regressive suggestion", he argued. "The corollary that those possessing a common religion or common race enjoy blissful companionship in their homes, nations or regions is, well, hilarious.
"I am sure this House will want on the streets of Planet Earth Hindus, Muslims, Christians, Sikhs and Buddhists walking side by side for peace. Once upon a time the tribe was our world. Today the planet is our village. Oxford has cultivated over its long and wonderful history the seeds of dialogue and reconciliation. This House will want to learn from and to regret the Partition of India."
