Terroristan - 4th Jan 2018

Our economic quagmire

If media reports are to be believed, the value of the US dollar has increased to Rs115 as per the inter-bank rate and stands at Rs119 according to the open market rate. The relevant authorities are of the view that Pakistan’s exchange rate was undershot. When it was left at the disposal of market forces, it rose to its equilibrium level.

If we consider the argument that market forces are to blame for this development, a series of question may arise. For instance, why did market forces result in the depreciation of the exchange rather than an appreciation? Why didn’t they generate the opposite effect? The answer is simple: the demand and supply of foreign exchange reserves (FER).

Pakistan’s exchange rate in terms of the dollar can be considered as the price of dollar in terms of the rupee. Economic thought suggests that the price of any item is determined by the forces of demand and supply. As a result, Pakistan’s currency has depreciated either due to the diminishing supply of foreign exchange reserves and an increase in the demand for these reserves.

If we examine the statistics of Pakistan’s economy, foreign exchange reserves have declined from $19 billion to $12 billion, which includes almost $6 billion of the reserves deposited with commercial banks. This, in principle, cannot be included within these reserves because they belong to citizens, not the state.

On the other hand, the country’s trade deficit climbed to $36 billion, which indicates the high volume of imports. In order to meet the needs of the import bill (at least for three months), the country needs foreign exchange reserves. Therefore, the demand for foreign exchange reserves has to increase. The burgeoning demand for foreign exchange reserves along with their depleting supply compels the exchange rate to depreciate – as it is happening nowadays.

The repercussions of a depreciating exchange rate are long-lasting and multidimensional. Countries like Pakistan, which are import-oriented, face problems in terms of escalating import bills and the increasing cost of production. An increase in the cost of production is directly reflected in the price levels. This negatively impacts the competitiveness of a country’s industrial sector and decreases the volume of exports.

Every economic policy has its pros and cons – and the same can be said about a depreciated exchange rate. In order to get the maximum benefits from a deprecated exchange rate, the country needs to do its homework and summon the political will to ensure economic welfare.

Pakistan needs to improve its production function that is aimed at gaining economies of scale. This will make the industrial sector more competitive and, in turn, improve the volume of exports, which will have multiple effects on the economy. For a country to achieve economies of scale, it needs inputs to be provided cheaply in order to produce output at a larger scale. For instance, electricity – a major input for any industrial unit – is not provided according to its rising demand. As a result, industrial units may not be able to produce at a potential level and, hence, cannot achieve cost-efficiency. When the exchange rate rose to Rs115 against the dollar, the cost of imported inputs also increased and directly affected price levels.

While the general elections of Pakistan are imminent and the final budget is likely to be presented by the current government in April, the intentions of the government are to restrict its expenditure on development projects and instead focus on non-development projects (which can be gauged from the pre-budget sessions). This will increase money supply in the economy without positively affecting the potential volume of the economy. As we know, a rupee spent on a non-development budget will have no impact on the output, but will increase the price level of the economy.

Disastrous economic conditions and limited political will leave the country in a crisis that the new government will have to deal with. It doesn’t matter which party wins the next general elections. Under such murky economic conditions, the next government will have no choice but to opt for another IMF programme to guarantee the country’s survive. As a result, we will be bound by restrictions imposed by the IMF and lose our economic independence.

All parties that are going to contest the general elections should have a clear economic policy within their manifestoes to tackle the current crisis. They should do their homework before assuming public office. Without this, it will once again become difficult for the next government to pull the economy out the quagmire it finds itself in these days.

Hard To Believe Claim :Foreign Spy Agencies Behind Enforced Disappearances Not ISI, MI, NAB Chief

Foreign spy agencies behind ‘enforced disappearances’ not ISI, MI: NAB chief
The Express Tribune

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Justice (retd) Javed Iqbal said on Monday that foreign agencies illegally apprehend people and pin the blame on Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and Military Intelligence (MI). Briefing a meeting of National Assembly’s Standing Committee for Human Rights, headed by Zahra Daud Fatima, Iqbal, who is also the head of a committee formed to probe missing persons, said that 70 per cent of the missing persons are found to be ‘pro-military’, Express News reported. Either he is forced to make such a statement or he is an "Agent Of The Deep State"

NAB Net Tightens Around One More Member Of The Extended Sharif Clan .

Ali Imran, son in law of CM Shehbaz Sharif leaves Pakistan ahead of NAB appearance today: sources
April 16, 2018

LAHORE – Ali Imran, son-in-law of Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif ( has the daughter of Shehbaz been implicated in this gol maal yet , or is she being "protected" because of her "tender gender" ) has reportedly left Pakistan ahead of appearance before the NAB in a corruption case worth Rs 12 crore. He failed to appear before the National Accountability Bureau on Monday (NAB) in Saaf Pani ( what an Orwellian name  ) scandal.
The anti-corruption watchdog had summoned Ali Imran in Saaf Pani scandal and having assets beyond known sources of income. His representative Talmeez Nabi appeared before the bureau and took the stance that Ali Imran was out of country and hence he could not appear before the anti-graft organisation. He, however, submitted partial record sought by the NAB .
The NAB had launched a probe against Ali Imran. He is accused of getting appointed Naveed Akram Saaf Pani Company CFO in violation of merit. Akram is also accused of transferring Rs 120 million into the account of Ali Imran.Earlier, the Anti-corruption Department had declared Ali Imran innocent in Saaf Pani case. However, the department had failed to submit the record sought by the NAB .

One Paki Judge Awards A Very Light Sentence To Fellow Judge Accused Of Torturing A 10 Year Old Child Maid

Tayyaba torture case: A year into the case, court hands one year each to judge, wife

After the passage of a year, a court handed one year each to the judge and his wife who had tortured their child maid, Tayyaba. The Islamabad High Court gave the verdict Tuesday. Justice Aamer Farooq ruled that Additional Sessions Judge Raja Khurram Ali Khan and his wife, Mahin Zafar, would serve a year each in prison and pay a fine of Rs50,000 each. As of date, no rumours have yet surfaced that Paki CJP ( Suo Moto ) Nisar had any hand in the "awarding" of the ridiculously light sentence. Many observers were expecting a harsh punishment so as to ensure that such things do not happen again. They are disappointed
Tayyaba was 10 years old when she was working as domestic help at the judge’s house. On December 29, 2016, she was recovered from their house after neighbours complained of torture on the child. This is one by "bad luck" got caught. There are probably hundreds,if not thousands of Pakis , even as this is written, who are still indulging in this illegal practice of hiring minors and then abusing them !
The minor’s face and hands bore marks of torture but she had initially denied being hurt by her employers. She told the police that her eye was injured after she fell from the stairs, adding that her hand was also burnt accidentally. However, the child narrated her ordeal after a female magistrate spoke to her. Tayyaba told the magistrate that she was beaten and her hand burnt on the stove for losing the broom. The case was reported and outrage followed on social media, ( and this was done by a supposedly educated person, imagine if the "employer" is not educated , what kind of abuse would be meted out  ) with people calling for strict and swift justice. The case also opened the debate on child labour in Pakistan, a practice rampant in the country. People living in abject poverty are forced to send their children to work as servants for the rich. Reports of children being ill-treated and abused are common.
SAMAA reporter Fiaz Mahmood covered the case proceedings. According to him, the verdict serves as a ray of hope for the future of children.“We were threatened by lawyers but we pursued the case because Tayyaba was a child,” he said. “She needed justice, especially since the child’s father had agreed to a settlement.”Mahmood said sending a judge to jail has set the right precedent. “It will deter people from hiring children as domestic workers and depriving them of their right to education,” he said. “Also, it will save children, who are already working as domestic servants, from being tortured.”

PS: This is a "good sign" in one way, that at least, "Judge" Kurram Ali Khan's Sifarish did not work !

Shocking Statistics On The State Of Affairs Of Paki Govt Accounts !!!

‘Rs8 trillion’ irregularities unearthed in govt accounts

The irregularities found in government accounts are double the amount of federal budget for the current fiscal year 2017-18

ISLAMABAD: The auditors in the country have discovered massive irregularities amounting to Rs 8.27 trillion in the accounts of federal government, a top official said here.Auditor General of Pakistan (AGP), Javaid Jahangir says, ‘alongside Rs 8.2 trillion, Rs 1.15 trillion of irregularities are found in the accounts of provincial department also.” He made these revelations while chairing a meeting of the policy board of the Department of Auditor General of Pakistan (DAGP) recently. Not sure if the AG is "shooting of his mouth" ( - as is the case to show that they are doing a good job !) or not, but if true, just confirms the massive fraud, that is being perpetuated on the Awaam Of Pakiland by their so called elected representatives and their "cronies" in the bureaucracy
The recent policy board meeting discussed on audit themes recommendations for Public Sector Audit plan 2018-19. buzz words again :D
There was a major paradigm shift when DAGP transformed all the codes of accounts and audit by replacing old codes/ manuals with the new financial audit manual and new reporting templates meeting international reporting standards requirements, the reported cited AGP as saying. Buzz words, part II
He said that the department sought better relationship with its stakeholders by aligning its goals with the government reform agenda, improving communication with its stakeholders and working as partners to help clients in achieving their objectives economically, efficiently and effectively. :((
A previous meeting of the policy board deliberated on initiatives and reforms taken up by the DAGP, proposing a way forward for collaboration with professional accounting and auditing bodies in Pakistan, and ways to engage with social sector and NGOs in audit planning.

PS . Is the AG ( Auditor General ) himself made of "honest cloth". Has his "net worth" been a subject of an independent audit . Someone should look into this matter also

Afghanistan Wins. Pakistan Loses . !

Afghanistan returns captured Pakistani soldier, 5 bodies
Reuters

KHOST, Afghanistan (Reuters) - Afghan tribesmen on Monday returned a Pakistani soldier they captured in a deadly skirmish along the countries’ border, as well as the bodies of five soldiers, the governor of Afghanistan’s Khost province said.
The soldier and the bodies were handed to Pakistani troops, said Khost governor Hukum Khan Habibi.
The dispute arose over Pakistan’s work on a fence intended to span nearly all of the disputed 2,500-km (1,550-mile) border, much of it mountainous and porous. Afghan officials have alleged that Pakistani troops crossed onto Afghanistan soil, prompting firing on Sunday by border forces and the local tribal force.
The two sides later agreed on a ceasefire.
Border skirmishes in the area are common, although detention of a foreign soldier is rare. Each national government alleges that the other allows sheltering of Taliban militants who stage cross-border attacks.
A spokesman for the Pakistani military could not be immediately reached. The Echendee factor :D

PS: Equivalent to Afghanistan winning a cricket match against "world champion Pakistan"

Suo Moto CJP Nisar On Another Ego Trip. This Time "Going After" Bureaucrats Who Misuse Luxury Vehicles Owned By The Govt Of Pakistan

Luxury vehicles in use of bureaucrats mysteriously hidden after SC seeks details

SLAMABAD – The luxury vehicles owned by various government departments and under the use of senior bureaucrats were mysteriously hidden after the Supreme Court sought their details, it emerged on Tuesday. The shocking disclosure regarding the ‘missing’ vehicles was made by Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar on a suo motu notice, observing that the court had received information about 27 such vehicles hidden in a building.
The top judge observed that the additional registrar headed to check the building in question, however, even he was not allowed to inspect the vehicles. Riled over the mystery, the chief justice declared that the vehicles were hidden after the Supreme Court sought their record.
As a judge with supposedly legal training, he should know that he has to "produce evidence" before making "wild allegations" like "the vehicles are hidden" just to grab attention of the "thirsty Paki Awaam"
“The departments that have reportedly hidden their vehicles belong to the Punjab government,” remarked the judge. :(( Did he "check" the garage of Shehbaz or Nawaz to see if the vehicles are not hidden there
Meanwhile, the petitioner who had requested the court to take up the matter stated that the companies accused of hiding government-owned vehicles include National Power Parks Management Company, Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Company and Infrastructure Development Authority Punjab. Did he provide "proof" or was he "just shooting off his mouth" like the Honorable My Laard
Questioning as to why the vehicles were parked inside the building, the CJP directed the additional attorney general to find out who such gave orders. The top judge – who is actively pursuing matters related to public safety and well being – had directed the federal and provincial cabinet secretaries to submit a record of all ministers and officers using luxury vehicles beyond their official entitlement, on Saturday. He had also instructed registrars of all high courts to submit any record of the chief justices using a vehicle beyond his entitlement, in a span of fifteen days. The hearing of the case has now been postponed indefinitely.

Going by the news reported in the Paki Media, one wonders if the CJP- My Laard - Mr Saqib Nisar has got too much on his plate right now. The Paki Awaam, while appreciating his "stellar work" (going after "small fries" [through his Suo Motos ] but not "touching" the BIG STUFF, like fauji corruption, missing persons ! ) is hopefully "praying" for the health and wealth of this "dedicated public servant"

After Much Fanfare About The New Paint Job Done To Its Fleet, The Disgraced Paki Airline Is Hit With A New Scandal - Once Again

PIA operations may come to a hault
April 16, 2018

KARACHI: Pakistan International Airlines operations may come to a hault over the issue of fuel supply to the airline. The Pakistan State Oil on Monday halted fuel supply to the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) over failure by the airline to pay its dues to oil company. PIA owes Rs15.2 billion to the oil company. So, essentially, the whole fleet is grounded. After the recent hoopla of an image makeover
Islamabad-bound flight supposed to take off at 5pm today was delayed because a shortage of fuel. More flights could face delay if the supply is not resumed, source added. The airline has also failed to make daily payments since the past seven days. Supply to other flights will continue keeping in view passenger convenience.
Earlier PSO had suspended supply to the national carrier in January over non-payment of dues.Commenting on the matter, PIA spokesperson said that talks with PSO authorities for resumption of fuel supply are underway.
The airline apologised to passengers for the inconvenience. :((
Hope that PM ( in name onlee ) Abbasi is still not stranded in Saudia

PS: Proves once again the dictum that no amount of PR giri will work, if the product or service itself is defective . IMO, this is the case here !!!

Ego Massaging At L.H.C Between The "Giants Of Paki Justice " . On One Corner , My Laard CJP . On The Other Corner Stands The "Hon AG ( Attorney Gen ) Of Pakiland"

SC upholds bar on 'anti-judiciary content', clarifies PML-N leaders' speeches have not been banned

Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, while wrapping up a suo motu notice on Tuesday, upheld the Lahore High Court's (LHC) decision to bar TV channels from airing alleged "anti-judiciary speeches" on television in the future. Suo Moto Nisar "butts" in again and clarifies the "earlier verdict"
The LHC's decision directly affects PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif, his daughter Maryam Nawaz and other leaders from the party. One of these days, Ganja is not going to take this(farce !) any more :D
Earlier today, while taking suo motu notice of the LHC's decision, the Supreme Court had summoned a record of complaints against the speeches by PML-N leaders filed with the Pemra.
It also summoned the attorney general (AG) of Pakistan as well as advocate generals of all four provinces and LHC registrar. The egoistic Nisar is poking his (Islami) hands into other "my laards") domains !!!
AG Ashtar Ausaf appeared before the bench and presented the LHC decision. "I want to read out the LHC's decision in court," he said.
"You may be the first person to actually read this decision," the chief justice replied, adding that all media outlets took the LHC's decision out of context and said that the court had banned speeches by Nawaz and Maryam, "which is not the case, where in the verdict does it say that speeches [from the two leaders] have been banned?" Humiliating the AG of Pakiland in front of his "esteemed colleagues"
"Maryam Nawaz and Nawaz Sharif can come here and speak for as long as they want," Justice Nisar said and added, "Is there anyone in this country who would disagree with Article 19 of the 1973 Constitution?" Who does dare contradict the CJP of Pakiland
Article 19 of the 1973 Constitution, while allowing all citizens freedom of speech, also says that the freedom is "subject to any reasonable restrictions imposed by law in the interest of the glory of Islam (wtf does that mean . Inserted on Saudia's recommendation ) or the integrity, security or defence of Pakistan or any part thereof, friendly relations with foreign States, public order, decency or morality, or in relation to contempt of court, or incitement to an offence."
The CJP had earlier remarked that it is very important for the parties in the case to be present. At this the AG said that Maryam and Nawaz may not be in the city and, therefore, not available today. Justice Ijazul Ahsan, however, remarked that they have their accountability court hearing today and should be in Islamabad. Ganja - a heart patient - is fighting "so many fires" on "so many fronts" . What with The Begum in a Londonistan Haspitaal , it is good that Abbaji has Maryam on his side to defend him from all this malicious happenings
The PML-N leaders were served notices by the court to appear in person or by counsel today. "We are here until 7pm," the CJP said. Cruel Nisar ! Does he expect Ganja to skip supper and make a dash from Isloo to La-Whore , so he can come here
The bench had also directed Pemra to decide the complaints pending with it regarding the alleged contemptuous speeches within 15 days. The LHC had issued similar directives in August last year while hearing a contempt of court petition against the former premier and 13 federal and provincial ministers of the ruling PML-N for their outburst against the Supreme Court following Nawaz's disqualification in the Panamagate verdict.

PS: My Laard Nisar should watch out. All "work" and no "play" is not good for his health. His "four beautiful" daughters he has to think about

Army and ISI Propped chief justice Nisar fancies himself as a Lion :D

“I don’t know any lion. These are the real lions,” Chief Justice Nisar, who was heading a three-member bench, said pointing towards the fellow judges.

“Respect should be shown [to us] equal to that given to elders,” he was quoted as saying by Geo TV.

It will be interesting to see how this guy fares and how many scandals will come up once he retires.

Pakistan says WB helped India complete Kishenganga project

ISLAMABAD: The pause taken by the World Bank in December 2016 that is still in place over the finalisation of mechanism for either appointing a COA or a neutral expert has provided the time enough to India to complete the Kishenganga project, Pakistan told the Bank about its apprehension in clear words in its second communication seen by The News.

It is pertinent to mention that The News had published the story on its edition of November 2017 with headline of “India completes Kishenganga project with faulty design.” However, Pakistan wrote the letter to World Bank on April 3, 2018, saying that the pause taken by the Bank has provided the time to Indian side to erect the Kishenganga project. INDIA'S ERECTION IS INCLUDING AND NOT LIMITED TO THE KRISHANGANGA PROJECT.

The pause was taken because of the impasse that had emerged in the wake of stance taken by Pakistan and India as former wanted the resolution at the level of Court of Arbitration of the disputed projects of Kishenganga and Rattle Hydropower projects, being constructed on Jehlum and Chenab rivers by India, whereas latter desired the decision by Neutral Expert. This had compelled World Bank to announce ‘pause’ on December 12, 2016 till the agreement on procedure or mechanism between the parties to the dispute --- Pakistan and India.

World Bank that brokered the Indus Waters Treaty in 1960 helped India in erection of the Kishenganga project with ‘faulty designs’, says the latest communication sent to the Bank. “We have asked the Bank’s president to do away with the pause and constitute the court of arbitration recalling that the top management of the Bank had initiated the process of lots draws to select the personality for appointing three umpires for Court of Arbitration and under the lots draws, the name of World Bank’s president was selected. Why are the Terroristanis continuously harping about INDIA'S ERECTION?

Pakistan argued saying that since the World Bank’s president has been selected to name three umpires for COA, so it should further initiate the process to complete the task and initiate the arbitration’s proceedings. Pakistan and India each will nominate their two judges and this is how the court of arbitration will be comprising 7 judges. In the communication with the Bank, Pakistan further asked if the ‘pause’ continues unabated, then India will also be able to complete the Rattle hydropower project with the objectionable deigns that will inflict the huge loss to the water inserts of the lower riparian country.

The top government official said that Pakistan still has the opportunity to get the design of erected Kishenganga modified in such a way that the project will not hurt and Pakistan water interests would also be ensured once the COA is constituted and Pakistan gets the justice. He said that ball is in the court of World Bank and if it does not move, then non-other than the Bank will be responsible for any misadventure between the two nuclear power as the water is lifeline of Pakistan. This constant and repeated reference to India's ERECT, ERECTED AND ERECTION by the Terroristanis IS AN INDICATION OF TERRORISTAN'S CONSTANT PARANOIA which in my opinion is an indication of the Terroristani's instinct or thought process believed to be heavily influenced by anxiety or fear, often to the point of delusion and irrationality.

Under the dispute resolution enshrined in Indus Waters Treaty, World Bank has the role as it is also the party to the dispute between Pakistan and India. Pakistan had called for resolution of disputes over Kishanganga project on the Neelum River and 850MW Rattle hydropower project on the Chenab.

Pakistan believed that Kishanganga’s poundage should be a maximum of one million cubic meters instead of 7.5 million cubic meters, intake should be up to four meters and spillways should be raised to nine meters.

About the Rattle project, Pakistan had four objections. Freeboard should be one meter instead of two meters, poundage should be a maximum of eight million cubic meters instead of 24 million, intake level should be at 8.8 meters and spillways at the height of 20 meters.

It believes the Indian design of Rattle project would reduce Chenab flows by 40 per cent at Head Marala and cause considerable irrigation loss to crops. The Rattle dam is believed to be three times larger than the Baglihar dam.

US official confirms restriction on Pak diplomats

WASHINGTON: A senior official of Trump Administration has confirmed that Pakistani diplomats cannot move without seeking prior permission from the concerned authorities in the State Department.

In an interview with VOA's Uzbek service, Thomas Shannon, Under Secretary for Political Affairs, said this restriction was placed in response to the same conditions Islamabad has imposed on US diplomats in Pakistan.

Shannon stressed that this is nothing new and such steps are routine matters.

Some media reports earlier this month suggested that Pakistani diplomats in US are told to seek permission before they travel beyond certain limits. However, Foreign Office and US Embassy in Islamabad denied such reports.

No unusual rise in next year’s defence budget: adviser
ISLAMABAD: The military will get only a regular increase and there will be no unusual increase in the defence budget for the next fiscal year, the adviser to the prime minister on finance said on Monday.
The announcement came in response to expectations that the defence budget could get an extraordinary increase in the wake of the approval of a new Armed Forces Development Plan.
The defence budget will get a regular increase and there will not be any extraordinary increase in the defence budget”, Dr Miftah Ismail told media persons after addressing a conference on Pakistan’s investment potential
For the outgoing fiscal year 2017-18, the defence budget stood at Rs920.2 billion. For the new fiscal year 2018-19, the stated defence budget could be increased to Rs1.013 trillion, up by roughly 10 per cent, said sources in the Finance Ministry. At US$ ONE = TERORRSTANI RUPEES 115 the sum of Rs. 1.013 Trillion Equates to US$ 8.81 Billion. This is ridiculous as Trerroristan has attained about Half of Indian Armed Forces Arms & Equipment as well as Personnel Strength!
Pakistan in talks with Russia for procurement of sophisticated arms, says defence minister
They said that the military had demanded higher than Rs920 billion budget for the outgoing fiscal year. But the former Finance Minister had promised that additional budget would be given during the course of the fiscal year, said the sources.
Military pensions, armed forces development programme, receipts from the Coalition Support Fund and United Nations Missions are not part of the stated defence budget.

Peregrine- ji :

It seems that Ms. Shannon from her "stressing" (above) does not think much of US diplos being restricted in Pakiland. Probably the ISI is tailing them 24/7 anyways . But IMO, it is going to be a "huge problem" for the Paki diplomutts In D.C. and the Big Apple, Chicago, LA , where they have consulates . The Begums will find hard to embark on shopping sprees for electronics, wine, cheese, desi groceries , weekend desi parties and other day time trips on the weekends to awe at the wonders of Massaland. Will be restricted to 25 mile radius . Just wondering how the same is going to be monitored . Maybe, some sort of device planted ( by the FBI ) on the BMWs, Mercedes, Cadillacs, and other SUV owned by the Paki Emb and the consulates . Food for thought

PEREGRINE -JI' S POST OF APRIL 17, 2018 IN IWT RE - POSTED BELOW WITH ADDITIONAL COMMENTS :D

Re: Kishenganga Dam. Pakistan Feels Cheated By World Bank . Now Complains !

If the Paki Govt learned of India's plans through Paki Media, instead of their own inside sources, it says much about the competency of their babus
. "Pakistan wrote a letter to World Bank on April 3, 2018" blah blah blah, then what were they doing between November 2017 and April 3, 2018 when the letter was ultimately send out ( Eid shopping,? time off for Ramzan?, chewing pan? etc etc  )
So, the World Bank "took the side of India " and now Pakistan is pissed off , right

The best advice for Pakiland would be to put their own house in order before embarking on these accusations, at least IMO !
Pakistan "likes" to be another Saudi Arabia in solidarity with The Land Of The Two Holy Mosques and the "prestige" it confers within the Ummah World . These measure by India will "help" them become another "Land Of The Sand ", IMHO
The top government official said that Pakistan still has the opportunity to get the design of erected Kishenganga modified in such a way that the project will not hurt and Pakistan water interests would also be ensured once the COA is constituted and Pakistan gets the justice. He said that ball is in the court of World Bank and if it does not move, then non-other than the Bank will be responsible for any misadventure between the two nuclear power ( nuclear sabre rattling  ) as the water is lifeline of Pakistan.

The Rattle dam is believed to be three times larger than the Baglihar dam. The angst against India, The World Bank , and probably Massa shows through clearly here ! Maybe, there is a conspiracy against Pakistan

Pakistan "Launches Itself " Into The Asian Golf Circuit . :D

Pakistan to host first Asian Tour golf event in 11 years
AFP
April 17, 2018

Karachi: Pakistan will host its first golf tournament with the Asian Tour in 11 years, organisers announced Tuesday, as international sports gradually returns to the country where security has improved. The Chief of Naval Staff Open Golf Championship ( as suspected , it is Fauji Sponsored and hence the $ 300,000 should be charged to Defense Budget and not buried elsewhere on the Books  !) is set to tee off from July 24 to 27 in Karachi, attracting a talented cast of Asian Tour stars to the US$300,000 (34.59 million rupees) event.
"Our talented members are excited to return to Pakistan," said Josh Burack, Asian Tour Chief Executive Officer, in a statement. Besides Mush, Pasha and Kayani - avid golfers - wonder who else will be there . Some Arbi golfers from Dubai, invited by Pasha
Regular Asian Tour events have been absent in the country since 2008, when a tournament was cancelled over security concerns amid a wave of militant attacks across Pakistan. Will International Golfers have to sign a Declaration waiving the Paki Govt from any liability in case of .... (fill in the blanks !)
All international sporting events were later suspended in Pakistan following an attack on the Sri Lankan cricket team bus in Lahore in March 2009. :((
But successful military operations in the country´s northwest and urban centres have largely beaten back militant groups and dramatically improved security nationwide.( And as a result of this "success", the Pashtuns of FATA have risen en-masse to assert their rights. )
As a result, the country has hosted back-to-back Pakistan Super League cricket starting in 2017, in addition to a limited over series against Zimbabwe, the World XI and Sri Lanka. :((
Pakistan´s Chief of Naval Staff Zafar Abbasi, whom the tournament is named after, lauded the return of the Asian Tour."This is great news for golf in Pakistan. We are thrilled to welcome the Asian Tour and its talented members to our beautiful country," said Abbasi. IMO, Golf can be assumed to be an "acquired taste" restricted to the RAPE class , specially in a country like Pakiland that supposedly follows Sharia and dons a Shalwar as a national attire in its daily dealings with the world at large :P
Pakistan hosted its first Asian Tour event in 1989, which was won by Filipino star Frankie Minoza. The country´s only Asian Tour winner remains Taimur Hussain who triumphed at an event in Myanmar in 1998. Past "glories" being recalled ! (a) Wonder, how many serious takers are going to be there, since the prize appears piddly by international golf standards ? (b) RAA agents to be given a visa ? (c) Sharab and Pork on the eating and drinking menu ? (d) Since, it is fauji sponsored , participants to be airlifted to POK, free of charge , to be given a lecture on "Indian Violations" and robust Paki Defenses ? (e) Discount rates for Chini And Hong-Kong golfers under CPEC ? . Lots of relevant questions

Even Polk Lice will do, anything to get out of Shitistan.

I don’t feel China is a ‘foreign country,” says Rabbiya Saba, 19, from Pakistan’s east Punjab, studying in China’s Sichuan Province in pursuit to bachelor’s degree in medicine. She said she adjusted to life in China much earlier than expected mainly due to the hospitality of the Chinese people(for how long ?)

We get great respect here. We have a separate class of 50 students in the university here. Most of our teachers are also Pakistanis  so there is no language or cultural barrier here.” Saba told Xinhua from Sichuan through WeChat. Apart from Saba and her friends, there are some 22,000 Pakistani students studying in various majors in China. In 2017 alone, about 2,500 new Pakistani students were enrolled in China, according to a recent statistics released by the Pakistani embassy in China.

The consultants who send students to China said there are three major sets of students who visit China including medical students, engineering students and the students who visit there to study Chinese language.

Amjad Iqbal, managing director of EBC Worldwide, a consultancy firm that sends students from Pakistan, India and African countries to China, told Xinhua that they started this venture in 2007.

Iqbal said, at that time many universities wanted to welcome Pakistani students, but the students here were not so interested in flying to China in the pursuit of higher education. (First want to get humiliated & rejected after standing in line for US, UK, Canadian and Australian Visa, only then will eat flied lice in china)

However, he said, things drastically changed in last four, five years. Now many students aspire for China, but he does not have enough seats to accommodate despite increased quota for international students by the Chinese institutes.

He further said the tuition fee of medical colleges in Pakistan is twofold than that of China, ‘which is the main reason why China is the favorite destination of aspiring medicine candidates.’

“A candidate can get medical degree from China in less than $US30,000 dollars including dormitory charges  whereas in Pakistan the tuition fee alone costs students over $US80,000 dollars.”

Moreover, Iqbal said China is easily accessible for Pakistani students as its visa policies are not so tough for Pakistanis. (The gubo is not yet painful, in good time it will be normal)

According to latest statistics of Pakistani embassy in Beijing, currently, 2,700 Pakistani students are pursuing masters and doctorate degrees in top Chinese universities on fully funded scholarships sponsored by the Chinese government.

Kalsoom Sumra, a doctorate degree holder in policy sciences from China, is working as an associate professor in Comsats University of Information Technology in Islamabad.

Sumra, who returned to Pakistan in 2017 after studying on a scholarship of the Chinese government, told Xinhua that as a Muslim woman she did not feel any kind of “awkwardness” of cultural differences. ( So China is also majority Malsi now? or did the Paki lady swipe her shuttlecock Burkha for a haraam dress?)

“Chinese are very polite and soft people, and they do not interrupt in your cultural things. They have respect even for your food, for your dress and all that.” Sumra told Xinhua in an interview in her office at Margallah hills of Islamabad.

Sohaib Ajmal, a student of computer sciences in University of Engineering and Technology, said his ‘future education destination is China.’

“I will pursue a degree in PhD :?: from China after completing my master’s degree because Chinese universities are rapidly increasing in world rankings and I believe I can get quality education from there at a much lower cost than European and American universities.”

Officials from Pakistan’s Higher Education Commission said they provide merit-based doctorate scholarships annually to brilliant students to five top-rated Chinese universities.

Look Out India ! Chabahar Is Going To Be Infested With Pakis !

Karachi-Chabahar ferry service plan almost ready

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan is giving final touches to its plans to launch Karachi-Chabahar and Gwadar-Muscat ferry services to promote people-to-people contact. Sources in the Ports and Shipping Ministry told The Nation that modalities including clearance from relevant departments were being worked out for launching Karachi-Chabahar ferry service. The national flag carrier, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation (PNSC) is also busy finalising its arrangements including acquisition of ferries.“Karachi-Chabahar ferry service is being given priority because it is economically more viable. More than 200,000 Pakistani zaire’en (religious pilgrims), visit Iran each year,” sources said. Not sure if this is Paki sponsored mischievous news or something that is going to happen
A high-ranking Iranian delegation headed by Minister for Transport Abbas Akhundi has just concluded visit to Pakistan and is believed to have approved the ferry service plan.During his visit to Karachi port, Akhundi also proposed to promote trans-shipment business through linkage between Karachi Port and Bandar Abbas as there was ample space of 204,000 hectares available at Bandar Abbas for promoting trans-shipment cargo handling facility. So, under the guise of "Zareens" ( AKA religious pilgrims ) there is also scope for ISI shenanigans ( like the Indian visitor visas granted to Paki cricket Abduls in the past !). Not sure what is Iran's game in the long term. A Irani Minister on a visit to Pakiland also expressed interest in joining CPEC . Does not want to "annoy" an Ummah nation
Likewise, Pakistan is also in talks with Oman to enhance travel between Oman and Pakistan through a fast ferry service between the two nations.“Discussions between Oman and Pakistan to start a fast ferry service between Gwadar and Muscat are nearing completion,” sources said.
Islamabad is waiting for the Government of Oman to complete their discussions on the proposal so that the plan is finalised.Discussions on the fast ferry service between Pakistan and Oman have been underway for a while now. Oman has also been a "special" friend of India. Wonder, what Paki plans are in this nation. Is there sufficient trade and travel between Pakiland and Oman to warrant a ferry service
According to official estimates, there are some 275,000 Pakistanis who live and work in Oman and represent one of the largest expat populations in the country. Is Oman "tolerating" them just because of "Ummahhood" ?. Have they been briefed yet by the Govt Of UAE on the measures they have recently taken against the Pakis on account of their gol-maal habits? ( AKA Pakistaniyat !)
Shipping experts believed that availability of such a ferry service would provide an affordable and fast mode of transport between Oman and their homeland.
The distance between Pakistan and Oman is shorter than that between Oman and Iran they said and added that Oman is already operating fast ferry services between the mainland and its northern governorate of Musandam, which controls partial access to the Strait of Hormuz. This service was launched in 2008 and was counted among the fastest in the world at the time of its launch. It appears that Pakiland is "diversifying" its " surplus manpower " in view of the restrictions recently imposed by the Govt Of UAE.

MQM Man Nabbed In The Net

MQM 'hit man' confesses to murders

Raees Mama , a former worker of MQM’s Korangi sector in 2011, has admitted before the judicial magistrate that he killed rivals and law enforcement officials on the orders of his party leaders. In 2011 policemen were killed in the Chakra Goth ambush. He said that he had also carried out extortion and ‘China cutting’ in Korangi area of Karachi. His statement was recorded under the 164 before the City Court magistrate.Raees Mama remained under custody on judicial remand for 14 days, the magistrate said. The suspect was brought to Karachi last month with help of Interpol from Malaysia. Raees Mama is regarded as right hand of Hammad Siddiqui, the main accused in the Baldia Town factory fire .In addition, he is accused of fuelling sectarian and ethnic tensions in Karachi. Not so difficult to nab an MQM man from Altaf bhai's (strong ) base in Krachi and make him to confess/ sing for murder rightly or wrongly. The Rangers and the Sindh Police have lot of "tools in their kit" to obtain such a confession ( blackmail/hostage to family , torture, making a deal ) . Surprising that the label of "RAA Agent" has not been used against him yet

The current account deficit was projected below $10 billion during the last budget for the fiscal year of 2017/18, but it is expected to go close to $15 billion till June-end. Official estimates, however, put the current account deficit at $13.7 billion or 4.4 percent of GDP for the current fiscal year. lot of hedging here and there !

PS: Nothing here which cautions that "more debt will be needed for ..... (fill in the blanks ). And nothing said in the doc about the "fauji side of things either"
