India - Canada - News and Discussion. (2018)

Post by Amber G. »

Mods - I did not see any relevant thread regarding Canada. If a thread already does exist please move it there. TIA

With Trudeau's coming trip to India, some food for thought. An article from Toronto Sun.
Is Canada home to anti-India Sikh extremists?
Is Canada home to Sikh extremists trying to pump fresh air into the dying embers of the so-called Khalistan movement that seeks the breaking up of India to create a separate Sikh country in Punjab?

Are there such anti-India Sikhs in the federal cabinet and the Liberal Party and its Ontario wing?

Mainstream Canadians outside the circus of identity politics could care less about the wholesale buying and selling at ethnic vote banks, but it’s time they should. India is no longer that far-away country of 1985 when Air India 182 was blown out of the sky by Sikh extremists, killing 268 Canadian citizens among the 325 murdered over Ireland.

Today’s India is not just a beacon of democracy in a sea of tyrants that govern much of Asia and Africa, but its economy is booming, as is the trade between our two countries. Fears expressed by New Delhi can no longer be ignored. If they are, it will be our loss in Canada.

It has been reported that the current debate about Canada hosting Sikh extremists erupted when the popular Indian weekly, Outlook — in its Feb.12 edition — ran a cover story, featuring a photo of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, wearing traditional orange Sikh handkerchief on his head. The headline on the cover read, “Khalistan-II: Made in Canada.”

Sources in India tell me the Outlook edition story came only after the government of India and Indo-Canadians noticed a sudden spike in anti-India extremist activities at Sikh temples across Canada. In one such step, Indian diplomats were barred from entering any Sikh temple anywhere in Canada.

In his bilateral meeting with Trudeau on the sidelines of the recent World Economic Forum meeting in Switzerland, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked Trudeau to curb the rise of pro-Khalistan groups in Canada.

The Outlook report includes a Q and A segment with Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh, who last April refused to meet with Canada’s Defence Minister Harjit Sajan, calling him a “Khalistani sympathizer” — an allegation denied by Sajan.

In a condescending rebuttal, Sajan said: ”Canadians have the right to express (viewpoints), it’s called freedom of speech.”

Hopefully, Trudeau read the gist of the Outlook story and paid heed to Modi’s request in Davos. Ideally, Trudeau should make an emphatic statement in Delhi on behalf of the Canadian state, denouncing anyone or any group that uses Canadian soil to cause harm to the integrity of India.

Of course individual Canadians —extremist Sikhs and their Pakistani-Canadian allies — are free to speak and protest, but the Canadian government and its MPs cannot be seen as being soft in their approach to this menace.

No longer should Trudeau or any Canadian politician send felicitation to events where Sikh extremists parade floats glorifying Sikh militant leaders.

For example, on April 30, Trudeau addressed a parade for ‘Khalsa Day’, which included floats glorifying Sikh militant leaders Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, Amreek Singh and former general Shahbeg Singh who were killed in the siege of the Golden Temple and Operation Bluestar in June 1984.

What I have gathered after speaking to many senior level Indian academics and politicians on both sides of the political divide is that India expects nothing short of a complete break between the Liberal Party and the opposition politicians and the Khalistan movement — not just in theory, but in practise, too.

But early indications from the itinerary for Trudeau’s state visit to India on Feb. 17- 23 show the Canadian prime minister will not deviate the script of using his trip to cajole the Sikh vote bank by donning a ceremonial headdress and paying a visit to the Golden Temple in Amritsar.

One Canadian Sikh lawyer in Brampton expressed her indignation at how Canadian politicians of all stripes use visits to the Golden Temple as a vote-getting tactic.

“It is demeaning to Canada’s Sikhs that Mr. Trudeau seeks our votes not by arguing the merits of his policy platforms, but by dressing up to mimic Sikh identity and visit our holiest shrine in India,” she added, requesting anonymity.

Perhaps someone in the PMO noticed that Trudeau could massage another vote bank in Canada if he paid a visit to a mosque. So the initial itinerary released in Jan. 22 was changed on Feb. 7 to include a visit to the majestic Jama Mosque in Delhi.

It will be fascinating to see Mr Trudeau lecture the mosque’s clerics about gender-equality after Syed Yahya Bukhari, president of the Jama Masjid United Forum, lashed out recently at a Muslim woman who led a mixed-gender congregation in the southern state of Kerala.

Which begs the question: If Trudeau is so enamoured by Sikhism and Islam, why doesn’t he abandon his Catholic faith and join our ranks? And if he is still a Catholic, why is he not visiting a single one of the many historic Catholic churches of India?

Sanjay Dixit, a senior Indian government officer who has served as an election observer in the Punjab elections of 2014 told me that there is no appetite for an independent Khalistan among the Sikhs of Punjab.

It is also intriguing that the banner men of Khalistan in Canada and the Ontario legislature keep feeding young Sikhs about the immense injustice committed on the Sikhs of Delhi in 1984 when tens of thousands are said to have been killed by roaming mobs. This is done to stir hatred against Hindus in Canada and India.

One last message to Trudeau: India has arrested three would-be assassins who came to India to kill a Canadian journalist working in Delhi. Could you please find out more from the Indian authorities since your High Commissioner to India, Mr Nadir Patel, seems uninterested in the fate of this Canadian?

Trudeau's party expelled (or rather canceled) an Indian Canadian MP from their party for expressing concerns about the obvious Khalistani extremists in their government.
Please show your support to this courageous gentleman. https://twitter.com/sangharamesh
Khalistanis have issued death threats and in some cases murdered those who stand up to them in Canada.

He's still and MP, and will be until the much expected summer mid-term elections. Rather obvious they won't touch him, so far nothing has happened in Brampton because the 'law abiding' Indian immigrant Sikhs are starting to speak out against the separatists. None of the protests we saw weekly in December were granted permits in Peel region, they were adviced to stay in their cars until they crossed into Toronto.

Trudeau govt wakes up to death threat to PM Modi, provides security to envoys
<<<

The Justin Trudeau government in Canada has finally woken up to death threats to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Indian consul general at Vancouver made by pro-Khalistan separatists on January 26 and provided armed guard security to top Indian diplomats in Ottawa and Vancouver on Saturday.

The Trudeau government last Friday instructed the Royal Canadian Mounted Police to provide protection to the Indian embassies in Ottawa and Vancouver after external affairs minister S Jaishankar spoke to his Canadian counterpart Marc Garneau on February 5. The action was taken after at least four note verbale were issued to Canadian authorities at Vancouver and Ottawa after death threat to the Indian consul general on December 26, 2020. Two police complaints were also filed by the Vancouver consul general office.

In a diplomatic note to Canadian foreign ministry, the Indian high commission on February 2 informed that one Inderjit Singh Bains made death threats against Prime Minister Modi on January 26 outside the Vancouver consul general office and posted on the Facebook account of fellow separatist Narinder Singh Khalsa. The English translation of the rabble-rousing speech was sent to the Vancouver police department in a complaint filed by the consul general.

Although Hindustan Times has reviewed the contents of the speech, it is not reproducing it as it is communal and incendiary. The political activist makes it clear that they will take care of Modi as they have taken care of other political leaders and Indian Army generals in the past.

The letter from Indian high commission to Canadian foreign ministry makes it amply clear that death threats to the Indian Prime Minister constitutes an act of terrorism and requested that the matter should be thoroughly investigated and the action should be taken against the individuals to mitigate any security risk posed.
Since December 2020, pro-Khalistan elements in Canada have taken over the protests against farm laws and are using communal speeches to divide the Indian diaspora by extolling the virtues of so-called Khalistan leaders. A reaction to this was a large Tiranga car rally organised in support of farm laws on Saturday afternoon in Vancouver.

Indian embassy in Canada seems unable to exert any influence on Turdeau Govt despite death threats, EAM Jaishankar had to intervene. Doesn't look great on the IFS team there.

And what the hell is wrong with Turdeau and even the entire political class in CA? If they can declare Proud Boys a terrorist outfit, these woke idiots cant see Pro Khalistan outfits with the same eye despite death threats to foreign diplomats and leaders, aiding and abetting violent protests in Delhi, conspiracy to destabilise the elected govt of the world's largest democracy.... jeez and the list of crimes is long...

India must get some Tiger warrior diplomats up there and be more assertive while exposing the Khalistani Paki pimps for what they are before Canadian public, who are actually very sane and reasonable unlike the Turdeau leadership.

Tiger warriors...I like the sound of that. But I don't know if MEA will allow it. Personally, these kind of threats need to be publicised by the Indian embassy. To draw a contrast, what would have happened if American or Canadian embassy or Chinese or even Paki embassy is threatened here in India?

So the kind of response Indian embassy gave out after the threats were very meek. It will only encourage such threats and some might even try to carry out attacks.

Btw Canadians need to be reminded of Air India flight 182. Where the same lax attitude towards Khalistanis becuz of Canada's colonial mentality of devaluing threats to Indians and India republic resulted in the largest massacre of innocent Canadians.

Exploit those fault lines and fan hate against Khalistanis. And for that, aam Canadian needs to know abt Khalistanis and their deeds against Canada. And they should be always mentioned in the same sentence as flight 182. For ex- Khalistanis, the group responsible for the flight 182, are against farm laws.

Long term strategy should be to take over gurudwaras and purge Khalistani influence one at a time.

When someone is begging for protection from disease what do you tell them? We will look into it. That's it.

No special treatment. Things will not be speeded up. There are orders from many countries and it will all receive its due attention.

I think we expect Modi to be a Maryada Purshottam Ram one day, Krishna next day and a Kalki tomorrow. In between if time permits, he can be parshuram and narsimha as well in the twilight.

Justin Trudoodoo called and MudiWhoMustNowRezine behaved like a statesman. Talk about how India is helping out other nations. Particularly poor nations. And India will do its best to facilitate the same for Canada {Did MudiWhoMustDefinitelyRezine called Canada a poor nation?]}

ChinaVirus is a done deal. We have vaccines and it is being rolled out and yes the danger is still there, but there are resources allocated for it and it is a current situation and not a future challenge.

Modi talked about Climate change and Economic recovery for a reason. Modi wants to put India on to road of economic prosperity. For that, it needs double digit growth for the next 10 years. By 2030, can India become a 10T economy? By 2040 can India become a 20T economy? How can Canada be a partner in India's growth (and also grow their economy).

Climate Change is going to impact India disproportionately. What can Canada do to ensure India has access to cheap & green energy? Can Canada supply uranium to India for example? How can Canada be a partner in India's energy economy?

It is the MEA which will carry the business end of the day to day relation. India must send vaccines. And India must insist that vaccines must be provided to all and including Khalistanis. Imagine Khalistanis getting a jab of life giving vaccine up their a$€ while they are threatening outside the Indian consulate.

Indian PM Modi promises to help Canada's vaccination efforts in conversation with Trudeau
Catharine Tunney · CBC News · Posted: Feb 10, 2021

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi says his country — home to the world's largest vaccine maker — will "do its best" to help Canada secure supplies of coveted COVID-19 vaccine doses.
Modi tweeted this morning that he received a call from his "friend" Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
"Prime Minister Trudeau informed Prime Minister Modi about Canada's requirements of COVID-19 vaccines from India," says a summary of the call issued by the Indian government.
"[The] prime minister assured the Canadian PM that India would do its best to support Canada's vaccination efforts, just as it had done for many other countries already,"
Health Canada is reviewing two separate applications for approval of the vaccine developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University researchers, including a joint pitch from the Serum Institute of India (SII), a private enterprise in Pune in western India.
AstraZeneca Canada filed an application for its vaccine with Health Canada in October. Just last month, Canada's Verity Pharmaceuticals and SII — which has capacity to produce roughly 2.4 million doses per day — filed a separate application.
Canada, which has signed agreements to procure a range of vaccine candidates, has a deal with AstraZeneca for 20 million doses.
As of today, Canada has administered more than 1.1 million doses of either the Moderna or Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine across the country.
But vaccination efforts have slowed down since Pfizer-BioNTech announced it would cut deliveries to Canada by two-thirds between Jan. 18 and Feb. 14, and Moderna reduced last week's shipment by 20 per cent because of a production problems.
When asked this morning whether Canada has secured supplies from Modi, Trudeau called India a "great partner."
....
The tone of Wednesday's public remarks from India is a stark shift from India's messaging in December, when it accused Trudeau of inciting "extremist activities" and warned that his remarks about farmers' protests could harm relations between the two countries.
Indian farmers have been protesting for months against new agriculture laws that will change the rules on the sale, pricing and storage of crops.
Modi's government says the changes will allow farmers to set their own prices and sell their crops to private businesses. Indian farmers have been selling their crops directly to the government at guaranteed prices.

Day after, Trudeau office says he spoke to Modi on ‘recent protests’
Shubhajit Roy

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has said that he held a "good discussion" with his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on many important issues, including on the “two nations' commitment to democratic principles, recent protests, and the importance of resolving issues through dialogue”, a statement from the Canadian government said.
This reference to “recent protests” was not part of the Indian government's readout of the telephone conversation held between Prime Minister Modi and Trudeau on Wednesday.
"I had a good discussion with Prime Minister @NarendraModi on many important issues, and we've agreed to stay in touch," Trudeau tweeted.
"The leaders discussed Canada and India's commitment to democratic principles, recent protests, and the importance of resolving issues through dialogue," the Canadian Prime Minister's office said in a statement, in an apparent reference to the ongoing agitation by farmers in India.
In his tweet on Wednesday about the conversation, Modi had said, "Was happy to receive a call from my friend @JustinTrudeau. Assured him that India would do its best to facilitate supplies of COVID vaccines sought by Canada. We also agreed to continue collaborating on other important issues like Climate Change and the global economic recovery."
.....
Canadian PM Justin Trudeau has a large and influential Sikh diaspora as a political constituency — his comments on farmers' protests in December stem from that. His reiteration of this, regarding the phone call he had with Modi, is aimed at consolidating the constituency.

Since some members inherently trust Just-in Trudoodoo more than the MEA, the following URL is for the other set of members.

https://indianexpress.com/article/india ... a-7186061/
A day after Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau’s office said he talked to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi on ‘recent protests’, an apparent reference to the ongoing farmers’ stir, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said Trudeau has hailed the central government’s way of trying to resolve the deadlock with the protesting farmers through “dialogue as befitting in democracy”.

“On the farmers’ protests, Prime Minister Trudeau commended efforts of the Government of India to choose the path of dialogue as befitting in democracy,” MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said in a statement. “Trudeau also acknowledged the responsibility of his government in providing protection to Indian diplomatic premises and personnel in Canada.”
So of course Just-in Trudoodoo talked about farmer's protest. Commended India. Khalifastanis of Canada and California can take break.

May I request that posters please refrain from name calling the PM of my country. I do not expect you to like him or to worship him, and heck, I do not like some of his policies as well but, please refrain from childish name calling. Call out his policies and yes you have the right to angry about him giving support to the protestors, or you could be happy, I don't care.

That being said, I do not like a some of PM Modi's policies and stances but, that does not mean I do not respect him as a leader of a great nation. I genuinely admire him for breaking the doldrums of the Indian MIC and pushing India to a new frontier. His work for expanding the defense of India to a new high is nothing short of outstanding.

As for Khalistan, and the Khalistanis here, all I can say is that they are a dying breed. The idea of Khalistan is nothing short of hubris thinking by the terrorist/extremists, who are dying out. The new generation of Sikhs, Hindus, and other Indo-Canadians are working to make a better life here in Canada. We really don't give a rat's ass about creating a landlocked micro-nation run by religious zealots, whose sole dependence for existence would be to sell grain to India.

GPurewal ji, thank you for your perspective and welcome to the forum.

I do hope you can see why people are intensely annoyed with Mr. Trudeau here, though. He is known for cosying up to Khalistan-sympathizers (including the NDP's Jagmeet Singh), thereby granting such extremely polarizing figures the respectability of the political mainstream by association. On top of that, he insists on making ill-informed (and borderline malicious) statements regarding the internal affairs of India, such as the agricultural landowners' protests (not "farmers' protests"... let's call them what they actually are).

If you believe that such hostility has been justified-- let alone reciprocated-- by corresponding actions on the part of Modi or any other Indian government official towards Canada, please do enlighten us. As far as I can see, the encouragement of violent separatists and unwarranted interference in internal affairs has run in exactly one direction.

So it is all very well to ask that Indians on BRF respect Trudeau just as you (presumably a Canadian) respect Modi despite disagreements with certain policies. But let's not kid ourselves by presuming that between the two nations, the record of bad behaviour has been in any way symmetrical.

Yes, please don't call blackface any childish names like true-doo-doo. Not funny, gais. :((

Also khalistanis are not even close to a dying breed in kanada. The paid tweets by bornstars and rihanna, the khalistani loving NDP leader and defense minister do not suggest a disdain of a sikh micro-nation.

You're also free to call Modi any name you like. It's not like he wouldn't already have heard worse from the lefty woke gang and khalistanis in kanada or other like-minded morons in India. Hell the rioters, which you conveniently choose to call "protestors", were raising slogans to teach Modi a similar lesson like the one they taught to another past PM.

Salutations Rudradev,

To tell you the truth, the news media here (BC, Canada) is staying quiet about the "protests", and it is getting the immigrant Punjabi's riled up. I do agree with the landowner assessment as they have a lot of land in Punjab, my old man included. And it those people that are 99.9% likely to be having sympathies or active support for Khalistan, but they are going to die out in the next two decades.

Regarding Jagmeet Singh, the NDP will never hold power on the federal level, since most Canadians (myself included) sit on a centrist stance, and we don't like moving from there. Maybe a slight shift to the left or right after two terms by a government, but nothing much from there. Mr. Harper tried going further right after attack on Parliament but, it didn't work out too well for his government.

Regarding interference in internal matters, I agree with your point and Canada has no right to interfere with how India conducts it's own internal business. Heck, I think the agriculture industry has been in stagnation when it comes to innovation since the Green Revolution, and it's high time that somebody pushes for innovation. PM Modi did that, and I'm not going to call him out for that. It was time, in my opinion.

Going back to interference however, I do have to disagree with your point because, I do feel India is interfering in the internal operations of Canada via the massive amount of SCAM that is coming in. Multiple times a day I have to block new numbers because some vile scum is pretending to be a CRA officer. I loathe them, and to this day, I wish harm upon them. I feel that these operations are being performed by the black market, but are actively being protected by the corruption in the various institutions in the country. I just wish that PM Modi could muster an offensive against this, and it would benefit India as well. We can say the record of bad behavior is happening from both countries to each other, one is political grandstanding from our leader in the great white north, and by more covert operations in the land of the tigers. The latter I do not blame on PM Modi.

Warm regards,

Gpurewal ji,

Thank you for a measured response. I don't know if the comparison of criminal activity in country X targeting citizens in country Y (among other countries) falls strictly within the scope of "inteference" in another country's affairs though.

From my perspective at least, the issue is government-level interference. Private citizens in all countries get up to all kinds of things and some of them are going to be criminals. If you could point to some instance of the Government of India refusing to take action against known SCAM purveyors who were targeting Canadians, or actively being involved in protecting or facilitating such criminal activity, that would be more appropriate to our discussion. But I'm not sure that there is any such instance.

Meanwhile the Indian Government has at no time issued statements (at the highest level, yet) criticizing the Canadian Government for its formulation or implementation of domestic policies that have no bearing on India or its people.

Rudradev-ji,

You have a valid stance and I respect it. It is indeed impossible to prove nefarious actions by private individuals are being conducted by central governments. I certainly hope that it is not the case, as India alone stands a beacon of democracy and stability, not only in the IOR, but in the Asian continent. These SCAM campaigns are doing massive amount of damage to the general image of Indians and India, and nobody on BRF wants it, from lefties to the right. I guess, I had to get the SCAMS off my chest, because seeing the corruption of low level officials and police officers during my visits to India, gives me a perception that the black market enterprises are being protected by the corrupt. I do not have hard evidence; if I did then it would be presented on another forum.

Please do not think of me as smearing India, but I have to call this out. Canada is not perfect either, and yes there are a lot of things that we need to work on here, so for PM Trudeau to call out internal affairs in India was an asinine move on his part, among other moves. The measured response by the Indian Diplomatic Corps just proves the maturity and self-control of the civil servants of India.

As an aside, it was an immense pleasure and surprise on the success of Aero India 2021. The HAL Tejas getting signed for 80+ aircraft, and the TEDBF (what a beauty) being shown, put a smile on my face. Arjun getting the rightful orders it deserves just proves to the perseverance, and ingenuity of the Indian industries, scientist, engineers, technicians, and workers.

Jai Hind, sir.

The senior Trudeau said of Nixon, upon learning that he had called him an a$$hole, that he had been called worse things by better men. :lol

We really don't give a rat's ass about creating a landlocked micro-nation run by religious zealots, whose sole dependence for existence would be to sell grain to India.
as if the free ride on water, fertilizer, electricity and the myriad other public services will continue to flow from India

the cost of raising and maintaining an army plus all the expenses of running a modern state is expected to come from where exactly, would these guys know....The GST collected by punjab is quite low and they have almost nil industries

with all trade conducted via paki ports, if they allow access, that is. India would simply freeze them out and seal the borders, period.

and how would the khalistanis adapt to speaking mandarin, and the aazan five times daily will there be a separate CPEC; a china punjab economic corridor

and finally, India with 1.5% Sikhs had a sikh prime minister and many air and army chiefs, but Punjab with more than 40% hindus never had a hindu chief minister. The political elite there come mostly from one caste. That will certainly not continue in khalistan because the deprived castes will rise and they have the numbers to permanently keep outvoting the rest. suppression of these lower castes has already resulted in huge numbers converting to the roper and roler persuasions

are the Hindus, as usual, to be necked out once again from their own lands, a naya cashmere all over again

what exactly do these khalistanis want.

India will not be fooled once again

Greetings Chetak,

Regarding your question on what the Khalistanis want, I have some answers.

The Khalistanis are clinging to an idea of the long past Sikh Empire, and they desire nothing short of the lands that encompassed those borders. I'm talking everything between Kandahar to Kashmir, to the outskirts of Delhi. The only difference is that they want this fallacy of an idea called a "Sikh Nation" to be run by a governing body of five Granthis (one for each Takht, I think).

Now, it becomes a nation being run by a minority religion, who has dominion over a Muslim and Hindu majority populace. At least under Ranjit Singh, his Wazir was a Muslim; this just tosses representation out the window. How long would this last, before another epic last stand stanza is being sung by Sikhs?

Another thing I noticed, at least with the Sikh Indo-Canadian community is the inherit jealousy between the peoples. "How dare so and so have a better car than I!" or better house, or whatever. It's just non stop egoism. This reminds of the behaviour of Klingons from Star Trek, and there will never be unity among the Sikhs, without these aforementioned vices/sins being cast out by the community.

Regards,
gpurewal ji,

these guys are in direct competition with the dravidian-ltte dream which is being pushed by the BIF, exactly like the idea of khalistan is also being pushed by the very same people.

I know for a fact that the dravidian-ltte gang also has strongish roots and financial support in canada as also the UK and EU

so these khalistanis are all for re establishing Ranjit Singh's glorious empire, then.

Greetings GPurewal'ji,

Komagata Maru Memorial. To me that is hallowed ground and I make it a personal point to visit it. Rain or Shine. Whenever I am in Vancouver. Once I made sure that my family, with my kids in tow, walked from Vancouver aquarium to the memorial in heavy rains and cold winds. My SHQ took a photo with shivering hands while the kids were wondering what craziness is this all about.

I do vehemently agree to this point of yours.

I do loathe them. I understand your loathe and I do understand your anger and your wish to cause them harm.

For a person like me, who reveres the sacrifices distanced by both time and space, imagine the anger I feel when a premier after Canadian premier have not brought the Khalistani terrorists and their sympathizers who murdered 329 innocent passengers on AI Flight 182. Yes I am talking about the Kanishka 'incident' of 1985.

So just you understand, 329 innocent passengers on AI Flight 182 were murdered. No Khalistani terrorist, their funders and their sympathizers were brought to justice. They still go around scott free.

And no premier of Canada since then did anything.

That includes the Fmr PM Cretin who along with his then PM Sr. Trudeau and as Minister of Indian (native american) affairs wanted to abolish all their treaties with the native Indians. That was pure racism then. Not bringing the khalistani terrorists to justice is from the same firmament.

Hence when the current PM Trudoodoo provides a platform to a new generation of Khalistani terrorists who want to rape and murder Indians and anyone who does not believe in their racist, supremacist and violent ideology, it is but natural the anger boils over. It is okay if you yourself are riven by biradari compulsions and would like to ignore such violent incidents, but please give others the space to express their anger and name calling. Since that is the best they can do!

PM Trudoodoo not just provided a platform. In fact he encouraged violence by supporting the protest. He interfered directly and backed the actions of the Khalistani terrorists to go and plant their flag on the red fort. Maybe you do not understand what it means to plant one's flag on the red fort, but for billion+ Indians, the only flag that flutters on the red fort is the Indian tricolour. No other flag. And definitely not the flag backed with fermented maple syrup.

I am just surprised that you loathe a bunch of scamsters and tie it up as interference into Canadian affairs with very good wishes of causing them harm but sanguine about the support the murderers get by your Canadian PM.

*Added later: GPurewal'ji, a anonymous poster on some site name-called the current Canadian PM and you got riled up to come out and post. However you do not get riled up at all for the actions supporting terrorists and the inactions in bringing the murderers to justice of the same PM! What should I as a human make of that?

Sirji, this forum is called Bharat Rakshak, not Canada Rakshak. By the same logic that you have stated, we can not name call the PM of Pak because some member is a Pakistani citizen, we can not call Eleven, Eleven because some member is a Chinese citizen. We can not even call a Gora Paki, a Gora Paki for the same reason. Childish it may be, but that is just an opinion. Trudeau is not popular here, and are plenty of good reasons for that.

Greetings Disha,

My posts are about the present incidents, and from what I am seeing regarding the Khalistani movement in Canada at present. You brought up incidents from the past, in what I believe an attempt to illicit an emotional response from me, from the way you have written your post.
My first point is that I do wish harm to the Scammers, as they target the vulnerable and innocent in society. That is a low. As for terrorism, if I wish harm to scammers who steal life savings from people, what do you suppose my stance would be on people who take innocent lives? Death by hanging would be a kindness, only Roman style punishment would suffice, like crucifixion. Even then, the innocent would not be brought back, and their loss makes my heart weep. The true enemy in any society is extremism, and religious zealots seem to be causing the brunt of this….disease.

Regarding the lack of punishment against the perpetrators of that, most vile and dastardly bombing of Air India, the Canadian Justice System dropped the ball, big time. Not the government, but the justice system, as it is a completely independent body in our system of government. I may be wrong but, I believe the separation of powers between the Executive, and Judicial branches is the same in India, since both Canada and India follow the British system of government. The “cock up” happened from CSIS, to the RCMP, all the way to the Crown Prosecutors office. The case was dropped under Prime Minister Harpers minority government years I believe.

Your statement with calling PM Trudeau’s comments as a platform for new generation Khalistani’s is extremely short sighted and arrogant. Since I am seeing the entire northern India’s farming community with being up in arms. I’m seeing Sikhs and Hindus in the protests (or riots as other posters have stated). This is the exact comments PM Trudeau made, and he is not providing a platform for terrorists (https://twitter.com/i/status/1333660714217725953).

I fail to understand how you could, for a lack of a better term, jump the shark to calling him a supporter of terrorism in India, when he only states that “Peaceful Protests” are a cornerstone of democracy. The key here is peaceful, and that he has communicated via multiple channels regarding the situation in India. There are citizens here who have family in India, and they are worried for their health and safety, so he is doing his duty to reach out. The late PM Mr. Vajpayee did the same in 2001 when he reached out to President Bush regarding innocent Indian Americans were being lynched by redneck Goras.

Lastly, regarding other sites and not calling them out, I don’t go on other sites (except Reddit for yucks but, even funny posts there are becoming rare nowadays). I started browsing BR and BRF back in 1998, when I first started surfing the net when I was grade 4. And I have continued to come here since. I’m viewing topics in Active, so I see this one page thread regarding India Canadian relations, so I took a gander. {deleted}

Only way to move forward with agricultural stagnation in India is to have private companies invest in it. The communists trade unions do not want it. Canada does not want it either as Canada exports lots of pulses to India.

Greetings gpurewal,

Let me remind you this statement as part of the MEA India.
There is a good reason the Indian government put the above out via MEA. Safety and security of Indians, particularly Indians in the diplomatic missions rests squarely with the PM of Canada and if any harm comes to them from the Khalistani terrorists, the blame lies squarely on the shoulders of the PM who hobnobbed with those terrorists.

You insist on calling the zamindar riots who injured hundereds of peace officers and some of them so critically that they are in ICU as protestors! And few of them are considered representative of the whole of N. India! I am amazed at the scale of your grandiosity and cognitive dissonance.
Your statement with calling PM Trudeau’s comments as a platform for new generation Khalistani’s is extremely short sighted and arrogant. I do want to remind you that in the last tourist visit by PM Trudoodoo, he was not officially invited to be the guest of the Indian state until he dropped some members who had direct links with Khalistani separatism using violent means from his entourage. Hence supporting your PM Trudoodoos' statements entails you Canada interfering in Indian democracy & its sovereignty while taking side with Khalistani terrorists!

I am not calling out the past. I am calling out your hypocrisy & bigotry & utter cowardice hiding behind a veil of sophistry.

The only thing I urge you is to look beyond your cognitive dissonance and see the reality of your own PM.

This is the last from me on this.
