No, that's him alright. Good move.

The guy is good at show. Great politician*. They are trying to build an image of Naya Pakistan.

Eventually all these shows will come back to bite them as they wont be able to do this every time.

*PS: Switched parties at the right time. Kept it low to switch back if things dont pan out. Built a power center within PTI despite coming late. Got himself and his son tickets from urban areas where PTI had better chances of winning. Got a cabinet minister post.

Imran Khan is the Pappu of Pakistan.

The same sense of entitlement, thinking you know better than everyone else, talking too much, and talking nonsense most of the time.

I bet his honeymoon with the Paki awam will be over in less than six months.

He is is AK of Pakistan. Full of himself with cult like following. Tried on his own for 22 years and was handed over power by PA and ISI finally. Has no idea how to govern. Had made tall promises and u-turns have already started.

PA is trying to rule directly through him but he will asset himself and will soon be running afoul of his mentors.

We must not disappoint imran khan niazi any further.

The poor guy is obviously a big man in a small office.

We must immediately release lakhs of "people to people" visas and of course lakhs of "medical" visas and India must bear all the medical and other travel expenses of the deserving pakis.

Imran Khan ✔ @ImranKhanPTI

Disappointed at the arrogant & negative response by India to my call for resumption of the peace dialogue. However, all my life I have come across small men occupying big offices who do not have the vision to see the larger picture.

India is such a buzdil nation with a small heart. Look, their forces just killed five innocent cashmerees. I mean, what crime did the poor innocent chaps commit? All they were doing was minding their own business and carrying innocent looking AK-47s. They only fired in offensive self defense as a lark. It was a joke. Joke, I tell ya. Did they have to be killed? Why were they not offered a safe passage? Why weren't their mummies allowed to talk to them by phone? Why were they not let go with a strict warning and rap on their knuckles? Hain? Time to issue 20 new postage stamps, in full color.

Indian forces kill five innocent Kashmiris
Indian forces in occupied Kashmir in their fresh acts of state terrorism on Friday martyred five youth in Bandipora district. Five were martyred during a cordon and search operation.
The bodies of the killed in the gunfight had been retrieved while the identity of the martyred youth is yet to be established.

Another flip flop by the ruling gobermint.

Govt may withdraw waiver for non-filers
The Finance Minister, Asad Umar, says he’s ready to reconsider the budget proposal of lifting ban on the non-filers of tax returns wishing to purchase property and new cars — a move that sparked controversy, as it meant incentivising the tax-evaders and penalising the taxpayers.
There shouldn’t be an ego problem. I am neither all-knowing nor I have any personal interest in granting this waiver.
During his budget speech late on Tuesday, Asad had justified the proposed waiver for non-filers on the ground that the ban slapped by the PML-N government had hurt the overseas Pakistanis intending to invest in the real estate.
:D

What's wrong with this picture?

India emerging as intolerant fascist nation: Lord Nazir
The Member of the British House of Lords Nazir Ahmed on Saturday said that India was emerging as intolerant and fascist nation for supporting the fascist group and also for suppressing the voice of Kashmiri people during their freedom movement.
Lord Nazir Ahmed said this while addressing a joint press conference along with Hurriyat leader Yaseen Malik’s wife Mishal Malik here.
He said that Pakistan must give befitting response to Indian Army Chief to realize them as Pakistan could respond to any foreign aggression to save their land.
Lord Nazir hailed Prime Minister Imran Khan's efforts for new beginning with India by inviting Indian Prime Minister to start negotiation between the two countries on the core issues.
He was of the view that Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi should raise the voice against Indian attitude in current scenario while being in Washington.
Lord Nazir also condemned the Indian indiscriminate firing on Line of Control (LoC) which killed hundreds of innocent people on Pakistani side.
So, Lord (Baron) Nazir Ahmed, a member of the British House of Lords who was appointed on the recommendation of Prime Minister Tony Blair in 1998, and a known antisemitic and conspiracy theorist, is now openly making suggestions to the paki establishment on how to deal with India. Does the Brit House of Lords know what one of its members is up to? Is he authorized to say this and in what capacity?

The secret diary of Hamid Mir

Or why news telly in India is so insensitive!

If Saturday morning’s crash of an Air India plane in Mangalore that resulted in the loss of 159 lives was shockingly tragic, the coverage of the horrific incident by television news channels was appallingly callous. Chasing TRPs, some channels tripped over each other to be the first to get ‘exclusive’ tid-bits of the accident, and took ghoulish delight in presenting macabre details. What was most insensitive was television reporters thrusting their mikes into the faces of survivors and asking stunningly bovine questions. Actually, they were not asking, but demanding replies to questions that were uncalled for. So we had these shaken and injured survivors, too traumatised to think straight and possibly still in a daze, unable to comprehend what had gone wrong in the last few minutes before the plane they were travelling in from Dubai was to have come to a halt on the runway and then slowly made its way to the parking bay, recounting their horror for the benefit of television news channels. What they (or grieving families) said made little sense, which is understandable. Our smart alec anchors would have been far more incoherent and incomprehensible had they been through something far less traumatic and life-threatening.

Make no mistake. The survivors, who were in need of immediate medical assistance and could do without television cameras at their moment of ordeal, were not being brought to the screens of your television sets to inform you about what happened, why it happened, how it happened. In any event, none of the few who survived the crash could possibly throw any light on what went wrong with a landing that was supposed to be smooth — the commander and his co-pilot had landed the same aircraft on the same runway innumerable times in the past and are believed to have known the terrain like the backs of their hands — but proved to be fatal. The survivors were pounced upon by camera crews because it gave them a great high (they were able to get ‘exclusive’ grabs for their channels) and their bosses an opportunity to claim that they had it before anybody else did. That in the process all norms of decency, dignity and discretion were rudely trampled upon, and editorial caution that should have been exercised was thrown to the wind, matters little to our television channels.

Which, of course, is nothing new. Why else would our television channels have sought out Hamid Mir, the now disgraced ‘star’ of Pakistani television and chief of Geo TV, for his comments whenever issues related to that country or India-Pakistan relations cropped up? That Hamid Mir has a dubious past is known to everybody on either side of the Radcliffe Line. Nor is it a well-kept secret that Hamid Mir’s sympathies have all along been with the Islamists and not the modernists of Pakistani society and politics. By extension, his association with the ISI and the Pakistani Army has often been a subject of animated discussion. Yet, what is known as ‘mainstream media’ in India had no compunctions about showcasing Hamid Mir and presenting his views as those representing ‘mainstream opinion’ in Pakistan!

Well, mainstream opinion in Pakistan, at least that which reflects what the educated, thinking classes of that country think, is at the moment heavily loaded against Hamid Mir. Recently, a tape surfaced on Facebook which had him talking to a member of the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan, or what is popularly referred to as the ‘Punjabi Taliban’ by Pakistanis. The conversation had nothing to do with news-gathering: It amounted to Hamid Mir instigating the TTP to kill Khalid Khwaja, a former ISI agent known to be close to the Americans who had been kidnapped by the Punjabi Taliban. The tape reveals Hamid Mir accusing Khalid Khwaja of having links with the minority Ahmedis and the Americans, both sufficiently sinful in the books of the Pakistani Taliban to merit the death sentence. Subsequently, Khalid Khwaja was killed. Hamid Mir tried to disown the tape, saying it was not his voice. Strangely, the ISI has confirmed that it was indeed Hamid Mir’s voice on the tape; senior journalists who have known Hamid Mir for years have also confirmed the tape’s authenticity.

A debate is now raging in Pakistani media circles about who taped the conversation between Hamid Mir and the TTP, and why was the tape leaked. According to some journalists, the outing of Hamid Mir also exposes the deep rifts within Pakistan’s intelligence agencies, namely the ISI, the Military Intelligence and the Intelligence Bureau. Any one of them could be trying to embarrass the other as Hamid Mir is said to have had livewire links with all of them. Another theory has it that the whole purpose was to expose the Islamists within Pakistan’s intelligence agencies by those sections in the ISI, MI and IB aligned with the either the US or China — sort of an ‘ideological’ war which has now come into the open. This is discounted by knowledgeable members of Pakistan’s commentariat who believe, and perhaps rightly so, that there is little that divides Pakistani intelligence agencies and their operatives ‘ideologically’; any alliance with either the Americans or the Chinese is purely tactical and does not automatically denote rejection or repudiation of Islamism.

The fine print, really, is inconsequential. The fact remains that Hamid Mir is more than just chief of Geo TV; he is also in cahoots with Pakistani intelligence agencies and has strong links with organisations like the TTP which are considered ‘strategic assets’ by sections of the Islamabad-Rawalpindi political-military-jihad complex. What is also of some importance for us is that Geo TV belongs to Independent Media Corporation, which owns the Jang group of newspapers. And as we all know, the Jang group is the Pakistani partner of a well-known Indian group of newspapers in a joint venture called ‘Aman ki Asha’ which aims to promote cross-border harmony and peace. It would be perfectly in order to ask how can a media group that has die-hard Islamists with links to terrorist organisations vehemently opposed to peace with India in senior positions be a trans-border peace partner. It would also serve some purpose if we were to be told as to why the Jang group was selected over other newspaper groups or independent dailies like the Daily Times, which has played a leading role in exposing and outing Hamid Mir. Chinese whispers are not exactly reliable. But there could be some truth to the story doing the rounds that it was neither aman nor asha that prompted the partnership between the two media groups.

Hi Kanchan,
We tend to be moralistic in Intelligence matters. The killing of Sqn.ldr.Khwaja by TTP should be welcomed by India though it may be due to infighting in ISI.I am posting my article in another site for your info on Khwaja.
""-- But a significant news affecting Indian security was NOT mentioned in Indian media whether written or visual or even in Seminar circuits. I mean the killing of Squadron Leader(retd)Khalid Khwaja by Asian tigers led by Sabir Mehsud. Who is this Khwaja? He was the right hand man of General Hamid Gul of ISI though he was thrown out of ISI by General Zia in 1987.He had access to CIA chiefs James Woolsey and William Casey. An american businessman of Kashmiri origin Mansoor Ijaz who works for CIA and who arranged the 2000 ceasefire between Indian Government and Kashmiri Militants is a close contact of Khwaja. Most probabaly this contact is revived with Obama administration coming to power.
What is intriguing is the eagerness Khwaja showed in visiting North Wazirstan along with a MI5 agent who had the cover story of filming life of Taliban! His main role seems to be to convince TTP leaders that his list of 14 Jihadies were actually in the pay of RAW Did he get these names from his American CIA contact or ISI? Whatever the source may be the person to whom he gave the list was attacked immediately by an CIA drone may be due to DFID satellite tracker planted on him. His confession that he was sent by Generals Hamid Gul,Mirza Beg and ISI colonel Sajjad did not prevent his execution.Infact the TTP is now more than convinced about nexus between ISI and CIA for the sake of American dollars. The argument that the Taliban can kill Indians (a la Mumbai) but not Americans in Afghanistan didnot go well with them. His argument that Americans are leaving in 2011 the Afghan theatre didnot cut ice.T

India should simply treat Pak as a diseased land and seal all borders with it,stop all contact and communication with its tribes uniformed except through the barrel of a gun.Let Pak stew in its own juice and the various factions tear each other to pieces. And if the Chinese want to enter the ring and get bitten themselves, they're most welcome!

However, in doing so, our forces have been paying a huge price by the way of their own blood, with the army itself losing on an average 150-200 men every year, as per figures released every year on Army Day. JKP too suffer huge losses each year.

In doing so, they do extract much more in way of blood from the scum that the uniformed jihadis of the Paki Army push in relentlessly.

However, IMO this is a strategy for stalemate, wherein we are only treating the symptoms instead of the root cause. We are merely dispatching the puppets instead of the puppet masters in Khaki that sit comfortably across the LoC.

The locus of what is wrong in the Valley lies not within the Valley, but in a far away Paki town called Rawalpindi, that houses the terror central targeting India.
Things will NOT change unless and until the Pak Army feels the consequences. And by Pak Army, I don’t allude to the grunts manning the posts across the line of control. These uniformed ones too are expendable for the senior echelons of the Paki fauj, amply demonstrated by their abandonment during the Kargil war and subsequent refusal to even accept the mortal remains of their own soldiers and young officers.

Till such time the middle and senior level hierarchy of Paki fauj personally feel the pain of consequences for their terror franchises, nothing will change.

Now, India-Pakistan sniping finds new theatre: Radio waves - Yudhvir Rana

AMRITSAR: At the village of Gharinda, 5 km from the Indo-Pak border at Attari, a 20-kilowatt frequency modulation (FM) transmitter is about to become the latest weapon in a war of wits and perception between the two countries.

The transmitter, which will begin Amritsar’s first FM radio broadcast from September 24, will cover a radius of 90 km, reaching not only Indian listeners, but also across the border in the heartland of Pakistan’s Punjab, including Sheikhupura, Muridke, Kasur, Nankana Sahib and Gujranwala among other notable places.

The Indian government’s move, overseen by All India Radio (AIR), became necessary after years of the Pakistan Government broadcasting a radio programme called Punjabi Darbar. For three decades, according to AIR officials and border residents, Punjabi Darbar has been running propaganda against India, including promoting the Khalistan cause. Residents of Indian Punjab are used to hearing voices from the past: speeches of militant leader Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, killed at the Golden Temple in Operation Blue Star in 1984, are still aired.

The half-hour programme is relayed every day from 7 to 7.30 pm and begins with Sikh religious prayers. In one of the broadcasts heard by TOI, the host expressed "grave concern" over the condition of roads and bridges in border areas of Indian Punjab and also gave an instance of seven schoolchildren dying after a bus fell off a bridge in a village in 2016.
The host even quoted a person claiming to be living in the village who had written a letter to Punjabi Darbar expressing concern over the poor condition of roads.

Intelligence sources who monitor Pakistan’s radio propaganda say that before the internet era the radio station across the border would pick up news from Indian newspapers, which they believed could embarrass India or provoke separatist sentiments. AIR sources say Punjabi Darbar was heard in the whole of the Majha region in India bordering Pakistan, but now its reach is limited to villages close to the border due to outdated technology.

Now India has decided to shut down its old amplitude modulated (AM) radio service and switch over to the clearer FM technology for its nearly five-decade-old programme. Officials at AIR Jalandhar believe this will allow them to reach a large audience across the border with clearer programming.

“We will not counter Punjabi Darbar with propaganda. Instead, we will promote quality programming. We have received letters from listeners in Pakistan in the past. With the FM venture, we will reach our own citizens in the Majha region and across the border,” says Santosh Rishi, assistant director (programmes), at AIR Jalandhar.

Every day, for two-and-half hours, Des Punjab will be broadcast on FM 103.6The programmes will include longstanding favourites like ‘Jawab Hazir Hai’ which answers listeners’ letters, ‘Ni Risa Punjab Dia’ which talks about unique characteristics of Punjab, ‘Guldasta’ which is based on Punjabi literature and ‘Rabta’ which talks of a shared Punjabi culture and ways of life. Then there is ‘Majhe Di Mehak’ which gives details about development in border regions of Indian Punjab, medical and education facilities and infrastructure.

Traditionally, these programmes are tweaked when tensions between the two countries escalate. During the Kargil War, Des Punjab had included a new segment – ‘Tiji Aakh’. The host would talk about development in the border areas and how people in these regions were helping the forces and were ready to crush Pakistani aggression. Now, with the aid of clearer transmission via FM, AIR officials hope to counter Pakistani programmes and reach both Indian citizens and their Pakistani counterparts

PML-N, PPP hold govt responsible for diplomatic debacle with India - Amir Wasim

ISLAMABAD: The country’s two major opposition parties have held the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government responsible for the latest diplomatic debacle following New Delhi’s refusal to hold a meeting between the two foreign ministers in New York and questioned the “haste being shown by Prime Minister Imran Khan in making efforts to mend fences with India”.

The leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) allege that the government has not done its homework and assessed the situation before approaching India for a meeting, terming the talks offer through a letter written by Prime Minister Imran Khan to his Indian counterpart a “misstep”.

PML-N President and Opposition Leader Shahbaz Sharif has called on the international community to take notice of the jingoistic statement of the Indian army chief, while stating that “Pakistan is more than capable of defending and responding to any aggression by New Delhi”.

In a tweet, Mr Sharif wrote, “The bellicose & irresponsible statement by the Indian army chief exposes the Indian designs to the world that should immediately take note of New Delhi’s threatening posture. Pakistan extending an olive branch to India should never be misconstrued as weakness.”

“Pakistan’s unwavering patriotic soldiers stand steadfast to defend with might and fury against unprovoked aggression from any threat. While the nation stands united with their intrepid military and against the cowardly threats,” he added.

Talking to Dawn here on Saturday, former foreign minister and PML-N MNA from Sialkot Khawaja Mohammad Asif said it seemed the government was “not prepared” from day one, adding that “too much keenness being shown by the prime minister” showed “weakness on our part”.

“Giving them (India) too much reflects haste on our part to mend fences with India,” he said, adding that he was not against normalisation of relations between the two neighbouring nuclear states, but “dignity must be maintained”.

Mr Asif regretted that Prime Minister Imran Khan had written the letter in which he “talked about terrorism” without realising that the US and India had recently issued a joint statement after the visit of Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to New Delhi and Islamabad which was “dead against” Pakistan.

“They (US and India) raised all kinds of allegations against Pakistan and you are talking about terrorism (in the letter). This is a sign of weakness (on our part),” Mr Asif said, while criticising Mr Khan for stating in the letter that “Pakistan remains ready to discuss terrorism”.

Moreover, he said, Mr Khan had offered “olive branch” to India at a time, when it was committing serious human rights violations in India-held Kashmir.

The senior PML-N leader also criticised Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, alleging that “he is playing to the gallery” as part of election campaign in his country. He said the PML-N government had always found India’s attitude “unrealistic and obstructive”.

Similarly, PPP Vice-President and the country’s former ambassador to the US Sherry Rehman said the government should have done its homework before approaching India for a meeting, especially after the initial response.

“Right now, however the Indian Govt and Army chief response is both immature and irresponsible. What are they threatening Pakistan about?” she questioned. “They have crossed all diplomatic norms and protocols to emerge as a belligerent nuclear power that is only looking to externalise its own extremisms,” writes Ms Rehman on her official social media page on Twitter.

“So (the) Modi government suddenly found Pakistan government evil over a stamp issued on 24th July, and a Kashmir killing ruse. Weak diversion from domestic crisis over #Hollande Bombshell and #RafaelDeal; anxiety over earlier UN report and session where Delhi may have to defend Kashmir atrocities,” she writes.

LaWhori Police Go "E Challan"

E-Challan System To Get Operational In Lahore From Tomorrow
PhoneWorld
Sept 23, 2018
E-Challan is an electronic ticket charging system meant to detect any sort of violation of traffic rules. This system was established by the Punjab Safe City Authority (PSCA), Punjab Police Integrated Command, Control and Communication System (PPIC3). ( Big name zero game  ) The initiative was test-run earlier to ensure optimum efficiency before its launch. Citizens may have received e-challans at their addresses due to the violation of rules. At that time, it was not implemented properly in the whole city. Now the PSCA and Punjab Police have decided to make E-Challan System operational in all areas of Lahore.
Lots of buzz words !
The CCTV cameras installed at the traffic junctions will monitor any irregular behavior in terms of wrong u-turns, breaking the signal or accidents which are often due to over speeding. These violations will be viewed by higher authorities. The e-ticket will be generated and sent to the culprit via courier service. In addition to that, the photo of the incident or the picture of the number-plate will also be attached to the challan. It will resolve all the questions the person responsible might have regarding his/her involvement :((
A few thousand rupees ( inflation factor taken into account ! ) changes hand and the challan mysteriously disappears - electronically - from the System !
The Electronic Challan system will keep the records of the challans according to the date and place of incident. Moreover, the vehicle of the person who will keep on violating the traffic rules will be impounded. He will get his vehicle back once he pays all the pending challans. Moreover, the vehicle will be impounded according to the “provincial Motor vehicle Ordinance 1965″ on irresponsible behavior while driving.
In the "corrupt environment" of Pakiland, collection of the fine monies might be a problem. And there is the sifarish factor. Will this violation be applicable to those vehicles, whose owners are govt high officials, faujis, current and retired and their whole extended families uncle, aunts, mother, father, nephew, nieces , servants , employees etc etc . This is a country , where millionaires and others ignore "challan" to file income tax return !
If a person other than the vehicle-owner violates the traffic rules while driving, then the e-challan will be sent to the vehicle owner. The vehicle owner will be considered responsible for the incident. Furthermore, you can call on emergency helpline 15 to know more about the system and its working. So, from 24 September all the people residing in Lahore have to be more careful while driving.

After Londonistan Mayor, Sajid Khan, Now It Is The Time Of Paki Origin MP Sajid Javid, Home Minister To "Celebrate" His "Success"

My parents came from Pakistan with only £1: Sajid In Bartania !
LONDON: The Conservative Friends of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh( Indians unnecessarily dragged into this  )came together for the first time to celebrate the appointment of first ever Asian Home Secretary Sajid Javid MP in Her Majesty’s Government.
At the Sheraton Grand Hotel here in Central London, around 350 Pakistani, Indians and other South Asians ate, sang and clapped together to congratulate Sajid Javid MP who attended the event with his English wife, his Pakistani mother and three brothers. Chairman of the Conservative Party Brandon Lewis MP, Sir Mick Davis, Lord Howard Leigh, Lord Diljit Rana, Vice Chair of the Conservative Party Helen Grant MP, Minister at the Department of Business Richard Harrington MP, Nusrat Ghani MP, Alan Mak MP, Anne Main MP, Wendy Morton MP and Dr Sajjad Haider MEP graced the occasion along with several other distinguished guests from various walks of life. :((
Zameer Choudrey CBE, Chairman of the Conservative Friends of Pakistan and Bestway Group, paid tribute to the Javid family and congratulated the parents and family on this milestone achievement and expressed the importance of Conservative Party for the Asian community. He told this correspondent that the post of Home Secretary is amongst the three most important positions in Britain and it was a big deal that Sajid Javid was appointed the Home Secretary on merit. Zameer Choudrey said that Pakistanis and Asians in Britain took pride at Javid’s rise through sheer hard work and talent. Laying it thick
He said: “I am the son of Pakistani immigrants who arrived at a cold, dark Heathrow airport in 1961 with nothing save £1 and a determination to build a better life for themselves and a future generation of Javids. My father began his story working in the copper mills in Rochdale and then as a bus driver in Manchester.
I believe , similar words were also uttered by that other party's Leader,- of Paki origin also with a similar name - who got elected as Mayor Of London a couple of years ago
“When I turned four, our family fortunes started to change a little. We moved to Bristol to a road called Stapleton Road which the Daily Mirror went on to dub Britain’s “most dangerous street” – not because we moved in, by the way. It was here that my father set up his first shop which he called Kaiser Fashions. And it is through graft and striving and no small amount of elbow grease that Kaiser Fashions went on to become a platform from which my brothers and I could aspire to any career that caught our imagination.” He went on: “I understood from a very young age from my parents that Asian values were all about passing on something better to the next generation. It wasn’t until I grew older that I realised this doesn’t just mean money or wealth or family business.”
He recently "celebrated" his Pakistiniyat by coming to Isloo to pay homage to The Great Khan, who himself still has connections in Bartania . Hope he works for British Taxpayers and not for Pakistan

Mush - Back Into Action - Opens His "Big Mouth" . Again !

“India will be schooled, let it dare doing something,” Musharraf
ARY News
Sept 23, 2018
On the blustering hostile statements from the arch rival country, former president General (Retd) Pervez Musharraf warned, “let India put something into practice first,” they will be taught a lesson.
He was talking exclusively to ARY News on Sunday in the wake of recent remarks from Indian army chief General Bipin Rawat:“talks and terrorism can’t go hand in hand” and that there is a need to take revenge against the Pakistan army. “Yes, it’s time to give it back to them in the same coin, not resorting to similar kind of barbarism. But, I think the other side must also feel the same pain,” he said.
Now that he has "donated" a few million rupees for THE DAM , Mush does not work for "free". Probably, got some substantial fees for this exclusive interview
Former military dictator Pervez Mushrraf lambasted while dubbing India a paper lion, “India should note that our military is brave, experienced and proficient in the battle field.”
And this is the "guy" who refused to claim responsibility for the Kargil Disaster !.
Recalling 2001 Indian Parliament attack, Musharraf said after that incident, India had brought all of its troops on the borders and we stood in front of them for 10 months that forced Indian army to turn their tails from the ground.“Indian Premier Narendra Modi wants to present Pakistan as a terrorist state for his political gains,” chief of All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) stated.
Imran needs the support of this disgraced Kammandu at this critical juncture of his political career
Earlier today, Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed disappointment on the Indian government for cancelling the scheduled meeting in New York calling it the ‘negative and arrogant.’
The hurt Echendee nothing else !
PM Imran had written a letter to his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, seeking resumption of dialogue with ‘constructive engagement’ between the two countries on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly session. However, India announced not to proceed with the proposed talks, accusing Pakistan of ‘unclean intentions’ for the dialogue.

X Posted on the Analyzing CPEC & OBOR, Chinese Strategy and Implications Threads

Why China can’t win the world with easy money – Swaminathan A Aiyar

Indian politicians and diplomats fear China’sBelt and Road Initiative (BRI), which aims to finance and build massive infrastructure projects in 78 countries, controlling infrastructure running through Asia and Europe.China believes this will help it dominate the 21st century.

Asia needs a lot of infrastructure. India itself is a partner with China in the New Development Bank and Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank. But BRI is far more ambitious, planning giant projects. Many are turning into white elephants. This is sparking a financial drama in Pakistan.

In worst-case scenarios, BRI will become a debt trap for borrowers who cannot repay Chinese loans. Indian diplomats fear this debt trap will make borrowers Chinese puppets, or at least give China strategic footholds (like naval bases) in these countries. Maybe so, but I suspect most borrowers will turn against an overweening China, not to it. Indeed, an over-ambitious BRI could blow up in China’s face, causing such massive loan defaults that China’s own financial system staggers.

Malaysia has just reneged on two major Chinese-financed projects worth $22 billion, calling them scams. It will not be the last.

In Pakistan, China is financing giant infrastructure projects called the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), costing $62 billion. Serious Pakistani analysts now fear the CPEC is a debt trap.

Today, Pakistan’s coffers are empty. It seeks $12 billion from the IMF. But US spokesman say they will not allow the IMF to lend money to Pakistan since this will rescue Chinese banks that made dud loans that Pakistan cannot repay. Trump is determined to scotch Chinese attempts to become economically dominant, and so has denied it a free ride on the global financial system. This is bad news for Pakistan and China. If the IMF shuns Pakistan, China will surely provide rescue funds in the short run. But this will damage the credibility and prestige of the BRI.

The IMF is the lender of last resort across the globe, rescuing many bankrupt countries. The BRI was supposed to provide additional finance, over and above traditional sources. Suddenly Trump’s action shows that borrowing from China can cut you off from the global financial system.

Many countries resent tough loan conditions of traditional financial institutions. China has offered them easy finance with little risk assessment for gigantic but dubious projects. It has no global tendering — all contracts go to Chinese companies, which can inflate costs. Easy Chinese money once seemed manna from heaven. But the implosion of Chinese projects in Sri Lanka and Malaysia shows easy loans can become burdens. Trump now warns that countries in a Chinese debt trap may lose access to international financial institutions.

Conditions for CPEC projects are opaque. The Financial Times says the return on equity is sometimes a whopping 34%, not the 17% normally assumed (which is anyway very high). The profit is guaranteed by the government regardless of project success or failure. Any failure can bankrupt the borrower.

This reminds me of Enron. It rushed into developing countries, offering to build huge infrastructure. It demanded high returns, guaranteed by governments regardless of project performance. Many countries including India and Argentina agreed. But when borrowers found the guarantee cost exorbitant, they reneged. A multitude of such defaults and fiascos ultimately busted Enron. That’s a warning to China.

In Sri Lanka, the Chinese-financed Hambantota port was a white elephant, unable to repay Chinese banks. China wrote off a billion dollars, in return for a 99-year port lease. Indian diplomats see this not as a financial debacle but a strategic Chinese triumph, getting a naval base by luring Sri Lanka into a debt trap. But Sri Lanka says it will not allow Hambantota to become a naval base.

Countries are prickly about sovereignty. Even the US in its prime faced local hostility to its bases in Asia. So will China if it tries to gain military bases through debt traps.

Moreover, Trump’s stand on Pakistan now indicates that BRI finance can sink borrowers, by reducing their access to traditional institutions. This will make BRI much less attractive, hitting China’s strategic ambitions.

Repeated BRI fiascos could endanger even the mighty finances of China. It already has the highest debt/GDP ratio in the world of over 300%. The 2008 financial crisis showed that even the richest nations can be felled by bad debts.

The grander BRI tries to be, the greater will be its risk of failure, financially and strategically. The more modest BRI is, the greater will be its chances of economic success. But the less will be its chances of strategic success and domination.

Imran's Mullah Put Back Into The Box By The Chinese !

China rejects reports Pak minister discussed Xinjiang Muslims with envoy
The News International
Sept 23, 2018
ISLAMABAD: Chinese Embassy in Pakistan has categorically rejected the baseless and distorted reports of some local and international media in connection with the courtesy meeting held between China Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing and Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Dr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri last week.
'Pakistan has demanded China to soften restrictions on Chinese Muslims living in Xinjiang province,' some media outlets claimed. According to a press release issued by Chinese Embassy here on Sunday, the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China enjoys social stability, sound economic development and harmonious coexistence among ethnic groups.
Some measures are taken against separatism and terrorism for the sake of safeguarding China’s national security and protecting people’s life and property.
Ambassador Yao Jing had a courtesy call on Dr Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony of Pakistan on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 and both the sides had a good discussion on China-Pakistan relations including the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) cooperation and some specific projects in Pakistan.
Dring the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador appreciated the efforts by the Pakistani Government to promote religious harmony, on which both the two sides had full consensus.
It is high unlikely that the Chinese would take "dictation" from a ( most likely uneducated !) bearded Mullah . And in which language did they communicate. Arabic or Urdu through an interpreter

Too Many Aam Abduls Out For A Good Time . Bridge Collapses !

Wooden bridge at Punjab Governor House lake collapses
Sept 23, 2018
The News International
LAHORE: A wooden bridge built upon the lake at the Punjab Governor House collapsed on Sunday due to overload, Geo News reported.
According to news reports, the wooden bridge inside the premises of the Punjab Governor House in Lahore collapsed after failing to withstand the load of people on it.
Furthermore it was reported that following the incident the administration of the governor house had sprung to action to handle the situation. There were no reports of loss of life after the incident.
Following the government’s decision of opening the doors of official structures around the country for public once every week, images of the public littering around the historical grounds have widely been circulated with many social media users stepping forward and condemning the negligence displayed by the public in response to the positive gesture by the state.

How India has successfully avoided falling for Pakistani overtures – Sreeram Chaulia

The letter from Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan to his Indian counterpart Narendra Modi proposing a resumption of the stalled bilateral dialogue process was a trial balloon doomed to fail from the outset.

The Indian government took six days before making the letter (dated September 14) public, reflecting how wary New Delhi is of getting entangled in another vain peace effort when Islamabad has hardly allayed India’s serious security concerns. A brutal reminder that nothing has changed came on September 21 in the form of inhumane killings of three policemen in Jammu & Kashmir’s Shopian district by Pakistan-sponsored terrorists of the Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.

An exasperated New Delhi sees no point in investing time and energy in cosmetic reconciliation with such a double-dealing state. Hence India’s condemnation of Pakistan’s “evil agenda” and Imran’s “true face”, and its cancellation of a ministerial meeting scheduled in New York for late September. The meeting was called off within one day of the announcement, revealing how low Pakistan’s credibility has sunk in Indian eyes.

Notwithstanding Imran’s statement that he is “ready to discuss terrorism” with Modi, India wants concrete action instead of misleading talk on this sensitive matter.

Cross-border infiltration bids by jihadists from Pakistan continue and civilian casualties in Kashmir from terrorist violence have been the highest in 2017, compared with the previous four years.

Moreover, the legacy issues of lack of justice for Pakistani terrorist masterminds of the 2008 attacks in Mumbai and the absence of accountability for the 2016 Pathankot and Uri attacks have piled up into a collective cynicism in India that talking to Pakistan is equivalent to dignifying an incorrigible terrorist state.

Modi’s expression of interest in bettering relations with Pakistan has stressed “constructive engagement”, a phrase that Imran is now rehashing. But thus far, India has experienced only destructive engagement from Pakistan’s military-intelligence complex. In such a backdrop, Imran’s overambitious vision of a SAARC summit in Islamabad which Modi would grace sounds disingenuous and preposterous.

Apart from the mismatch between Pakistan’s words and deeds, India doubts the motive behind Imran’s missive to Modi. According to The New York Times, the Pakistani Army Chief General Qamar Bajwa had “quietly reached out to India” to resume peace talks months before Imran’s military-orchestrated election victory with the goal of mitigating intense international pressure that Islamabad has been facing for its nefarious behaviour.

Cleaning up its image by extending an olive branch to India, and then using this “moderate” diplomatic turn to ease the harsh American cutoff of military aid and receive a $12 billion economic bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), are the unstated objectives guiding Pakistan’s rhetorical eagerness for peace.

Pakistan is in desperate economic straits and the military appears to be goading Imran to opportunistically play nice as a responsible actor before the international community out of duress rather than any liberal transformation in its foreign policy.

Long-time watchers of the subcontinent can recall several earlier instances where the hidden “foreign hand” either directly or indirectly pushed Pakistan into rapprochement or compromise with India.

Such externally induced openings ultimately collapsed under the weight of internal contradictions in Pakistan and the violent ground realities at the border. Boston University’s Jessica Stern has documented a widespread “jihad culture” in Pakistan. It is connected to the inbuilt Pakistani nationalist narrative that Kashmir must be freed from Indian “occupation” through a multi-faceted “freedom struggle”, leaving little room for sustainable peace with India.

Routine invocations at international forums of India’s alleged human rights abuses in Kashmir by Pakistani officials are deeply internalised into their ideational system.

Such verbal provocations worsen relations with India, but they rarely cease since abandoning the “Kashmir cause” is unthinkable for the body politic of Pakistan.

Compounding these obstacles is the extreme imbalance in civil-military relations in Pakistan which is symbolised by Imran’s rise as Prime Minister.

In 2015, when Modi flew to Lahore and embraced then prime minister Nawaz Sharif, there was a sense in New Delhi that Sharif genuinely wanted to break free from old mindsets and wished to set aside Kashmir to improve commercial and people-to-people links.

Sharif’s ensuing political downfall and legal persecution were understood in New Delhi to be the handiwork of a Pakistani “deep state” that fears peace with India.

With Imran, who is beholden to the military and is seen to be taking instructions from his Army Chief in composing messages to Modi, India has a personal credibility barrier.

Whether or not Imran promises anything to India, leave alone delivering on it, depends on the whims of the Pakistani military — an institution which remains unreformed, unapologetic and perpetually geared up to protect Pakistan from “Indian hegemony”.

Without a fundamental overhaul of Pakistan’s state apparatus, India does not foresee big shifts in bilateral ties toward a lasting settlement.

The national mood in India is firmly against believing Pakistan at face value. With general elections approaching, Modi is cognisant of this public sentiment and cagey about entering yet another round of diplomacy with a neighbour whose purpose is hollow and whose essential makeup is unchanged.

Fauji Does "Double Duty" As Guardian Of Paki Morality

VIDEO: Man alleges ‘army personnel’ manhandle him, target his wife’s ‘indecent clothing’
Sept 23, 2018
A resident of Lahore alleged that army security personnel at Fortress Stadium manhandled him and criticised his wife’s “indecent dress”.
Recalling the incident, Fahad Naeem took to his Facebook and wrote: “I’m shaken to my core after today’s incident. I’ve always considered army a prestigious institute and have supported them in any way possible my forefathers have served this country wearing the very same uniform which was misused against me today.”
The Aam Paki has been fed so much propaganda, that they still "think" that the fauj is "prestigious institution" , that they the guardians of Paki Ideology etc etc
Further sharing the details of the ordeal, Naeem wrote that he and his wife went to fortress stadium but were stopped at the entrance because they thought we’re some “typical GF/BF” and when he showed them their CNICs, they started chanting “indecent clothing” as his wife was wearing a pyjama with a cold shoulder top which had full sleeves. Saudi influence creeping into Pakiland
“They started calling her names for her choice of dressing! Apparently she’s Behaya as she dresses in indecent clothing and I’m Baghairat because I didn’t stop her,” wrote Naeem, adding that “a guy who was not in uniform stopped us and even after repeatedly asking him to give proof of him being an army personal he didn’t show me anything but insisted he was from military intelligence”.
Exercising his "fake" authority
“I went for my phone to record him and I was stopped, then I asked my wife to make a video and she was abused verbally. I started FB live and had to stop it because I was manhandled by 7 men, pointing guns at me and trying to take away my phone,” the citizen recalled.
Imran's Human Rights "Minister" Madam Mazari should "look into this "
“Is this the Naya Pakistan we are working for?,” Naeem asked.

Paki Journo Wonders Why Is It Taking That Long To Decide

To the IMF?
The News International
Dr Farrukh Saleem
Sept 23, 2018
Economic activity and uncertainty are correlated. Pakistani investors are uncertain. Our foreign lenders – who have lent us nearly $100 billion – are uncertain. Uncertainty is a “situation which involves imperfect or unknown information”. Are we going to the IMF or not? Uncertainty is a “state of limited knowledge”. Uncertainty is a state “where it is impossible to exactly describe the existing state or a future outcome”. Are we going to the IMF or not? Do we have an alternative strategy or not?
Is the "Doctor" not aware that the IMF option is a no-brainer now that the Ummah Head has been sweet talked into joining CPEC with "promises" of bringing dallars for Gwadar Oil City
Uncertainty is not the same as risk. Risk is where there is a “specific probability assigned to each outcome”. Uncertainty is immeasurable; risk is measurable. Uncertainty has profound consequences on business decision-making. And uncertainty is a critical factor in economics. Pakistani investors can accommodate risk, but uncertainty is awfully bad for business. Foreign creditors manage risk, but uncertainty is bad policy – bad for Pakistan.
The Saudis are not noted for their work ethic and punctuality. So, the promise of Moolahs is not cent per cent certain
Red alert: For the following 12 months, our gross external financing needs stand at $26 billion. By 2022, our external financing needs will mount to $45 billion. Are we going to the IMF or not? Do we have an alternative strategy or not? Uncertainty is negatively impacting business decision-making in Pakistan. Uncertainty is dampening the pace of economic activity in Pakistan. Uncertainty is making Pakistanis hoard cash instead of financing investments.
The IMF option is currently off the table, unless the Saudis renege- which is possible , because of their financial situation - on their verbal promise made to The Khan
Remember, the PTI has to build five million houses and provide 10 million additional jobs. Pakistani and foreign investors are waiting for uncertainty to end. Are we going to the IMF or not? Do we have an alternative strategy or not? To be certain, the “opportunity cost of investment includes the value of the option to wait”. Investors have gone into wait-and-see mode.
Many observers have noted that the "five million houses, 10 million additional jobs ( and the $ 180 Billion Dollar price tag ) fall under the category of a Sheikh Chilli pipe dream
Prime Minister Imran Khan faces little or no political opposition. Nawaz Sharif faces court cases (out only on bail). Shahbaz Sharif is too occupied with corruption charges. Asif Ali Zardari is neck-deep into serious charges of money laundering.
The Kaptaan also has "too many things on his plate right now ", like the "insult" delivered to them by the Indian Govt
Right now, political uncertainty is not an issue. Right now, the issue is economic policy uncertainty. When will the Ministry of Finance end the economics of uncertainty? Are we going to the IMF or not? Do we have an alternative strategy or not?
The IMF option is off for now

According To This Editorial The Amreekis Are Not Happy That The Saudis Are Cozying Up To The Chinese Under The Paki Chini "Umbrella" Of CPEC

Riyadh and CPEC
The Daily Times
Editorial
Sept 23, 2018
Prime Minister Imran Khan’s trip to the Middle East appears to have been worth the squeeze. For the Saudis are now committed to investing at least $10 billion in this country as Riyadh readies to become the third CPEC partner. A turn of events that affords a better understanding of why the COAS was in Beijing at this time.
IMO, the Pakis took the "initiative of inviting" the Saudis into this Club without taking the Chinis into confidence. Hence, the Bajwa visit to "placate" the Saudis. And now that the Saudis are economically tied to the heathen Chinis, what about the Uighur !
Details of the agreement are expected next month when a Saudi delegation is due to head this way. And since the PM has thus far been a little coy on the question of the $4 billion soft loan that he had reportedly been seeking from the Kingdom — this has given way to speculation that the latter will invest in infrastructure projects, including Gwadar, rather than go for an all-out cash bailout.
The Saudis have their own cash crunch problem , but for the sake of Ummah unity, need for Paki Muscle , and the need to save face, they are not going to admit this creeping problem ! "Details next month" may well take months and months due to the proverbial Saudi Work Ethic And the well known and well worn excuse of "cheque is in the mail"
Thus Riyadh’s inclusion into the Corridor looks good. On paper, at any rate. Though Islamabad needs to honestly clarify its unequivocal pledge to support Saudi Arabia strategically. Not least because there remain concerns that the Centre may do U-turn when it comes to deploying Pakistani troops to Yemen. A country where the Saudi-led coalition risks being probed for war crimes.
The Saudis of course would extract their pound of flesh : More Paki cannon fodder in Yemen, more assurance of Paki Nuclear Protection - off the shelf purchase of the Bum , and of course no cozying up to the Iranis and goodbye to the Iran Pak gas pipeline !
Be that as it may, the Kingdom represents a not unnatural ally for Beijing. Indeed, back in 2010, China emerged as the latter’s largest trading partner. Then last summer, when Vice Prime Minister Zhang Gaoli visited the Kingdom, the two sides agreed to open a $20-billion joint Sino-Saudi investment fund. This came in the wake of some $65 billion worth of deals inked earlier in the year; ranging from energy to space technology. Fast-forward to the beginning of 2018 and China has called for tighter integration between Riyadh’s planned economic diversification away from crude oil and the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI). It appears that the Saudis have taken this duly on board.
The Saudis are noted for agreeing to promises, but when it comes to signing on the dotted line , they are not too certain. ( as per US observers of the Saudi political scene !)
Pakistan will, however, have to tread carefully with Iran on this front. The last thing this country needs is to be dragged into proxy wars. Meaning that Islamabad must balance its regional alliances carefully. As far as US displeasure over the Kingdom surrendering to the dragon’s embrace goes, that is better left to Riyadh and Washington to resolve bilaterally. Especially given that the latter is already irked by Saudi efforts, announced last year, to partially cover its budget deficit in renminbi in a bid to reduce financial dependence on the dollar; thereby facilitating the rise of the petro-yuan. That being said, increased American belligerence in this neighbourhood will have far-reaching ramifications. After all, in its National Security Strategy for 2018 Washington named China as a regional adversary. And now the US fear is that Beijing will make use of this increased partnership with Saudi Arabia to consolidate inroads into the Middle East. This may well be welcomed by many of the region’s nations; which tend to see China as a more stable hegemonic power given that it does not pursue a militarised foreign policy.
Let us see if the Americans are happy to see their "client" go into the Chini camp !
In short, the balance of power is changing in this neck of the woods and beyond. And this time around, Pakistan appears to be partially behind the wheel. ( which world is the Editor living in !) This can only be a good thing. As long as pragmatism remains the driving force of any new regional order. *

Were The Pakis In The Know About This Mega Project When They Roped The Chinis Into The CPEC Gwadar Oil Deal

Saudi Aramco will build $44 billion 'mega refinery' in India
April 11, 2018 ( old news but relevant now !)
CNN
Another day, another massive deal for Saudi Arabia's state oil giant.Saudi Aramco has agreed to develop a "mega refinery" on India's west coast with three Indian state-owned oil companies.
The refinery, located about 215 miles south of Mumbai, will cost $44 billion to build and is capable of processing around 1.2 million barrels of crude oil a day, Aramco said in a statement.India's fast growing economy is boosting demand for fuel and petrochemicals and Aramco is hoping to cash in.
Not sure if the deal is still on in view of recent news of Aramco problems as well Saudi cash crunch .
The project "will rank among the largest world refining and petrochemicals projects," the Saudi company said. Saudi Aramco and the Indian consortium will each own 50% of the project, India's energy minister Dharmendra Pradhan said in a statement. Saudi Aramco said it may bring in a strategic partner to share part of its stake. Cash problems
The deal comes less than 24 hours after Saudi Aramco signed an agreement with French oil company Total (TOT) to build a "giant" petrochemical complex in Saudi Arabia for about $5 billion. The project is expected to create around 8,000 new jobs in the kingdom.
As noted previously, the Saudis are notorious for making promises , but hesitate ( for various reasons ) for making good on their promises !

Pakistan is Russia's New Best Friend
The National Interest
Michael Peck
Sept 23, 2018
f Rudyard Kipling met Vladimir Putin, he’d have a stern word for that unsportsmanlike Russian chap.
How dare he put his hands on Pakistan! Doesn’t he know the rules of the “Great Game” of the late nineteenth century, when Britain feared that Russian armies would advance out of Central Asia to overrun British-controlled India (which then included modern-day Pakistan)? But the rules have changed. India, once a Russian ally, is buying weapons from America. And Pakistan, once America’s Cold War ally against the Soviet Union, is becoming cozy with Russia.
While Indian policy might well have been driven by "national interest", Pakistan's policy is driven by that old Mid East adage : enemy of my enemy is my friend !
Russia has already sold attack helicopters to Pakistan, signed a military cooperation pact to train Pakistani officers, and held joint training exercises .
“That Pakistan’s army sees Russia as an ally in Afghanistan and Central Asia is a complete turnaround from 200 years of fearing and indeed fighting the ‘bear’ from across the River Oxus,” says Kamal Alam, a visiting scholar at the Royal United Services Institute, a British military think tank.
While Western attention has focused on China building transportation routes through Pakistan as part of Beijing’s Belt and Road economic sphere, Pakistan and Russia have quietly allied to support the Taliban, which is battling the American-supported Afghan government. “Both countries now feel that the U.S.-led war in Afghanistan is a threat to their security,” Alam writes in a RUSI study . A "Paki infested" Think Tank , masquerading as "British"
All of which would have Kipling turning over in his “bloomin’ grave.” Even after independence from Britain in 1947, the Pakistani army had continued the British Raj’s policy of maintaining a buffer zone of autonomous Pashtun tribes between Pakistan and an Afghanistan where Russia had a strong influence. When the Soviet Union occupied Afghanistan in 1979, and the Carter administration feared Soviet tanks would seize the Persian Gulf oil fields, Pakistan became the conduit through which America supplied arms to the Afghan rebels. For its part, America tended to back Pakistan against its arch-rival India, including arms and even dispatching an aircraft carrier to the Bay of Bengal during the 1971 Indo-Pakistani War.
Pakistan is like a whore. Will sell itself to the highest bidder, to oppose India !
So what happened? The Pakistani army has decided “the policy of having a buffer zone with Afghanistan is no longer required as the Russians are no longer a threat to Afghanistan, and by default Pakistan,” writes Alam. Meanwhile, Russia launched a “charm offensive” as far back as 2002, when President Putin offered to mediate Indo-Pakistani tensions over Kashmir. Now, Russia is adroitly taking advantage of the Trump administration’s hardline policy toward Pakistan, including cuts in military aid and suspending training of Pakistani officers, with the training suspension particularly wounding the Pakistani military’s pride.
The real litmus test of this so - called strategic friendship will occur when Putin lands in Isloo and once and for all accepts the long standing Paki invite. And signs some significant agreements . Has not happened yet !
Alam also believes that “Russia’s performance in Syria is seen as a victory in Pakistan, hence shifting gears to the victor,” Alam told the National Interest. Yet as for Russian bases in Pakistan similar to those in Syria, Alam thinks that is unlikely. “I do not see any Russian bases any time soon, if at all.( But then they milked the US for a lot of money without delivering !) Pakistan has had a negative impact hosting several U.S. bases in the early days of the War on Terror.”

India emerging as intolerant fascist nation: Lord Nazir

So, Lord (Baron) Nazir Ahmed, a member of the British House of Lords who was appointed on the recommendation of Prime Minister Tony Blair in 1998, and a known antisemitic and conspiracy theorist, is now openly making suggestions to the paki establishment on how to deal with India. Does the Brit House of Lords know what one of its members is up to? Is he authorized to say this and in what capacity?
Very easy to shut up this loose cannon. Wake up the Brit ambassador at 2am on Friday night a couple of times and issue a demarche. Tell him "we are soo sollee we got this news now only from London, we wanted to make sure you weren't declaring war on us no? here have some chai biskoot and write to your foreign office tomorrow morning ok? thank you no mention, drive safe".

Regarding playing Cricket with the Pakis, I have an opinion.

I think we should announce our position to the world which is that we will only play the bare minimum with the Pakis at international venues.
Therefore, we will only play one match, at most. The second game can use results of the first, else we will concede it.

Given that cricket money survives on India-Pak matches, this will hugely reduce the gains of the organizers, and they will figure out ways by which they can limit matches to a single one, preferably at the last stages.

Indian national team will be told that this is a sacrifice they will need to make, just as all other professions/industries have been making.
