Tragedy Strikes Ganja Sharif !

Begum Kulsoom Nawaz dies after protracted ailment in London
Sept 11, 2018

LONDON – Kulsoom Nawaz, the wife of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif died on Tuesday in London, months after a cardiac arrest put her to Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The death of Kulsoom Nawaz was confirmed by her son Hassan and Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz president, Shehbaz Sharif.
Prime Minister Imran Khan has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the demise of Begum Kulsoom Nawaz.According to a statement issued by the PM Office, all the facilities within the legal parameters (wtf does this mean  ) would be provided to the Sharif family.
The High Commissioner in London has also been instructed by the government to extend all the facilities to the members of the Sharif family, added the statement.
Currently, her husband Nawaz Sharif and daughter Maryam Nawaz are imprisoned in the Adiala jail in Pakistan.

There is absolutely no doubt that Nawaz and Maryam will hold Imran personally responsible for this tragedy .( Just like Dus Percenti still holds Mush responsible for BB's death !)

Peon Abbasi is right (for once). Project finance for large institutional quality and scale developments is more complicated and risky than just cobbling together a charity fund and starting construction. This is straight out of an old Bollywood movie where the hero (and his cohorts) build a road from the train station to the village through sheer grit, determination and songs. No one could muster up enough courage to ask the hero after he built the dirt road - "now what?". Luckily, the three hours were over.

While I'm the Dim tries to become the new messiah for the directionless quam, he forgets one key missing ingredient that could pull out his nation from the morass of depredation and inertia; which is - will power of the people that want real change. Bakis in powerful positions do not want a change. Change requires strong will and acceptance of the adage that inertia kills.

Anyone watch the movie or read the book called "1984"? That work of art aptly describes the muslim world (especially bakistan) of today where wars and conflicts are encouraged to keep the population in line by strict control over their emotions. Enter stage left - wild, foolish ideas with no thoughts to keep the quam busy.

Dams are not built through charities: ex-PM Abbasi
Sept 10, 2018
ARY News

LAHORE: Talking about the ongoing fund-raising campaign for construction of dams in Pakistan, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday said dams were not constructed with the help of charity, ARY News reported.“Resolution for the issues of the country does not lie in money, but in rectifying the system of governance,” he said while talking to media in Lahore. He said dams were not built through tall claims as well.Speaking about the by-elections, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader said his party would defeat the ruling party in the by-polls. “We have successfully dealt with difficult times earlier and would do so in the future as well.”
He has been "booked" by Deep State for "leaking" "state secrets" so he should be "careful" with his words
It is pertinent here to mention that the Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday issued bailable arrest warrants for Shahid Khaqan Abbasi in a case pertaining to sedition and violating his oath of office as prime minister. The petitioner in the case had sought action against Abbasi and PML-N supreme leader Nawaz Sharif for trying to defame state institutions. The court also ordered Abbasi to pay one million rupee in surety bonds.
Abbasi said he respected the judiciary and he would appear in the next hearing of the case to defend himself. The federal government’s fund-raising campaign for Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams is in full swing, with support of the Supreme Court and provincial governments.
The fund formed to collect donations for construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams has crossed Rs 2 billion mark, as per latest statistics. The account was opened following the Supreme Court orders to collect donations from people across Pakistan and those living abroad. All the commercial and micro-finance banks, and field offices of SBP Banking Services Corporation have opened the Fund account to receive donations in cash, and through cheques, pay orders and demand drafts at all their branches across the country.

US "educated" Abbasi is not the only one who has questioned the Kaptaan's policy of "depending" on funding from oversees Pakis to build those dams !

Actually Imran is very cunningly using the dam as a magic wand to gain sympathy of non-resident pakistanis to send dollars and pounds which could solve the debt repayment crises and dollar depletion currently afflicting pakistan. Obviously no one will send dollars over to blighted pakistan if Imran makes an appeal for contributing to the debt repayment and dollar crunch crises, so he has used dams as an excuse instead.

Dams take 20+ years to complete, by the time Imran won't even be alive to answer questions, he will only be remembered as a 'great leader' who helped pakistan escape a precarious situation. This is what paki jonnies are betting on.

It is Confirmed ! That Paki Billionaire ( Shahid Khan ) Along With Zuckerberg ( Facebook) And Mush ( Absconding fugitive ) Will NOT Be Contributing To Imran's Dam Fund

Fact check: Billionaire Shahid Khan is not donating to Pakistan dam fund
The News International
Sept 11, 2018

ISLAMABAD: Since Prime Minister Imran Khan launched a global fund raising campaign for building dam social media is abuzz with fake news stories about international personalities donating for the cause.
Those who were used ( interesting word to use !) for this purpose include, Pakistani-American billionaire Shahid Khan, Facebook chief Mark Zuckerberg, former president Pervez Musharraf and several others.
The PM called on overseas Pakistanis to contribute $1000 each for a fund set up by the Supreme Court to build Diamer-Bhasha dam.
A fake Facebook page named ‘PTI Washington DC’ claimed that Shahid Khan has announced to donate 10 million dollars for the PM-CJ Dam Fund. This triggered a wave of false claims on social media by several celebrities making their contributions noted.
However, this proved fake. Senior PTI leader, Senator Faisal Javed Khan categorically stated that the Facebook page created in the name of PTI is fake and that such ill-intended moves by some people are damaging a very noble cause. He urged the masses to stop it for the sake of Pakistan.
I agree with the Maulanas of Pakiland, who have consistently insisted that these "western inventions" - like Facebook, Twitter , mobile, computer - are the work of the devil and are being used to divide the Islamic quom .
Talking to Geo News anchor Munib Farooq, Javed said the government has received a very positive response from the overseas Pakistanis and hopefully the campaign will be able to generate enough funds for the water reservation project. Mainstream media too fell for it and run the news story as ‘Breaking Story’.
Hope is always "eternal"
An imposter pretending to be Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg also made a pledge to contribute $5 million for the dam fund. The fake Twitter account cropped up two days after the announcement by the prime minister. “Pakistan's new government is serious in making dams and I'm sure Imran Khan will make dams in his government. As humanity, #Facebook will also participate in the Dam Fund #Facebook will give 5 million$ in the #PMDamFund,” the imposter tweeted.
In a second tweet, he said that he would soon visit Pakistan as an honest government was installed in the country.“I will come to Pakistan very soon. We want to invest in Pakistan because there is a honest government in Pakistan,” he tweeted.

Imran Decides That It Is Time To Stop Feeding Bull Shit To The Paki Awaam !

Govt mulls over ‘tough decisions’, public anger
Dawn
Sept 10, 2018

ISLAMABAD: Three weeks after assuming power, senior leadership of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) reviewed the country’s political and economic situation and resolved to take some “tough decisions” in the coming days after evaluating the possibility of a strong public reaction. A strategy was also devised at a meeting, which was presided over by PTI chairman and Prime Minister Imran Khan, to deal with possible reaction to government decisions in near future.
There was no official word about the “tough decisions” the government would have to take due to “crippling economic situation”, however, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry while talking to Dawn after the meeting hinted at further increase in the prices of electricity and gas.
So, it is not back to The Golden Age Of Islam yet !
The information minister said the participants also decided to highlight the “wrongdoings” of the past rulers and the economic mess created by the previous government of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz.
This is the standard excuse of all political parties . Blame the previous Govt ! And Imran is no exception !
Finance Minister Asad Umer criticised former PM Nawaz Sharif for taking wrong decisions and leaving behind unrealistic targets for the PTI government. He also opposed the last government’s decisions of tax exemptions which he said caused a huge loss to the national exchequer.

IMF’s staff-level team to arrive by month-end - Shahbaz Rana

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has decided to engage with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) as an internal working suggests that benefits of getting a bailout programme outweigh the cost that Islamabad may have to pay, including some compromises on economic sovereignty.

After doing an in-house analysis, spanning over two weeks, Pakistani authorities have decided to invite an IMF staff-level team, said sources in the Ministry of Finance.

They said Finance Minister Asad Umar has contacted IMF’s Director for Middle East and Central Asia Jihad Azour.

The finance minister confirmed to The Express Tribune that the IMF staff-level team would visit Pakistan by the end of this month.

Engagement with the IMF should not be directly linked with any kind of formal programme talks, said Umar, while explaining the purpose of the IMF visit.

The finance minister said in case Pakistan plans on getting the IMF programme in future, the upcoming engagement would save time that is often required for exchange and validation of macroeconomic numbers.

The minister underscored that the IMF staff-level visit did not mean Pakistan has decided to avail a Fund programme.

Sources said the decision to invite the IMF staff-level team was aimed at keeping both options open.

Pakistan needs to achieve rapid investment growth

“The communication is happening all the time on a routine basis at different levels,” said IMF Resident Representative to Islamabad Teresa Daban. She said such contacts are normal between the IMF and its member countries.

According to the sources, the prime minister’s next week visit to Saudi Arabia and follow-up visits by the Saudi monarchy to Islamabad will be a determining factor in taking a decision on whether to avail an IMF programme.

They said that the Chinese were also helping Pakistan for protecting the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) deals from scrutiny by external elements.

In-house analysis

The decision to request IMF to send a staff-level mission was rooted in an in-depth assessment of Pakistan’s gross external financing needs for fiscal year 2018-19 and benefits and cost of availing an IMF programme, the sources said.

The joint assessment was made by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) and the finance ministry. They said this assessment was presented to Prime Minister Imran Khan last week and after that the finance ministry decided to invite the IMF team.

The fresh assessment of the external debt repayments showed that Pakistan needed $11.7 billion to service its external debt in current fiscal year 2018-19.

Pakistan’s gross external financing requirements have been assessed at an alarming level of $31 billion by the finance ministry. This is based on the assumption that the current account deficit will touch $18.5 billion.

The administrative and regulatory measures that will be taken may lower the current account deficit by about $4 billion to $14 billion, the sources said.

Against $31-billion financing requirements, the available financing is only $20 billion, which is inclusive of $13.2 billion projected borrowings and rollover of $2.8 billion short-term debt, they said, adding this still leaves the government with a financing gap of $11.1 billion.

Benefits without IMF

Could China replace the IMF?

According to the sources, the PM was informed that Pakistan could retain its economic sovereignty and ensure secrecy of the Chinese financing deals under the CPEC by avoiding the IMF programme. They said that the government can also fulfill its commitments of reforms as per its own aspirations.

The premier was informed that at this political juncture it will be difficult to sell the IMF programme to the people, they said and added the new government can also avoid the typical IMF prescriptions, which are often in direct conflict with the government’s development agenda.

IMF benefits

However, the cost of not availing the IMF programme is also significant, the sources said. The country will have to pay higher pricing on its international borrowings and the credibility of the reforms will be low. Pakistan can avoid surge in the short-term debt by availing long-term IMF lending, they said.

An IMF programme could immediately avert the balance of payments crisis. This will also open cheap financing lines from the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the sources said, adding, the programme will increase the country’s credibility in the eyes of international creditors.

However, in both cases, the stabilisation measures require a further devaluation of 9% in the value of rupee against the US dollar, they said.

“This means in the next nine months the rupee could see its value going down to Rs136 to a dollar.”

The SBP’s key policy rate may surge by 2% to 9.5% to handle the external sector problems. In this scenario, the annual economic growth rate will slow down to 4.7% and the inflation will inch up to 6.4%.

The government’s internal assessment showed that the current level of foreign exchange reserve of $9.9 billion was sufficient for only 1.8 months of import cover. These reserves are inclusive of $6.6 billion of forward swaps. This figure has increased due to the US$ 5.8 Billion taken by the SBP from the Terroristani Commercial Banks, but this amount is shown in both the SBP as well as Commercial Banks Account - A case of Double Accounting!

In October 2016, Pakistan had $18.9 billion reserves that were enough to provide import cover for four and a half months. But those reserves had been built by contracting expensive foreign loans. That was then. Now SBP Forex Reserves are US$ 04.0851 Billion - Made up of Loans From Saudi Arabia, China etc. and Commercial Banks US$6.4846.

Another day, another task force. Now I realize how I'm the Dim wants to create those 5 million jobs by creating 1 million task forces.

PM Imran Khan forms task force on sports

Prime Minister Imran Khan Tuesday ordered constitution of Task Force on sports to review performance of all such bodies, analyze the efficacy and utilization of funds received from various sources and suggest administrative reforms for promoting games at national and regional levels.
The prime minister directed Ehsan Mani to head the new task force.
The Prime Minister directed that all such schemes be reviewed to ascertain their utility and reasons for in-completion.
...so that Pakistan, a nation of over 200 million with 60% population below 30 years, could rule the sports world. :D
The Prime Minister directed that as a first step, the focus should be on increase of the number of sports grounds to provide opportunity to the youth to allow them exhibit their talent and excel in sports.
The Prime Minister directed that initiatives such as National Internship Program should be improved and greater opportunities created for young graduates to gain practical training in various fields.

Too many orders and directives, but no democracy. You know where I am going, right?

..........{Rest Snipped}..........

Based on the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan’s IMF Quota, present IMF debt outstanding of Terroristan there and IMF lending rules, the IMF can only fill the Islamic Republics Green Kaashkol with USD 6.5 Billion with caveats ie: a little under 60% of the USD 11.1 Billion financing gap per this article in Dawn by Pakistani origin Nadir Cheema who teachs economics at SOAS:

Excerpt:

Approaching the IMF
Nadir Cheema
Updated September 08, 2018 …………….

It would seem at first glance that Pakistan’s financing request to the IMF could be calibrated to just under this amount in order to avoid the tougher conditions associated with exceptional access. For instance, Pakistan might be able to borrow China, Saudi Arabia, Islamic Development Bank, and other non-IMF sources to bring its external financing gap below $12.5bn. However, there is a snag. Pakistan already owes $6bn in outstanding loans to the Fund from previous programmes and this counts towards the $12.5bn.

So, even with a new programme of size $6.5bn Pakistan will be considered an exceptional access case. Separately, if Fund disbursements over the first 12 months of the programme exceed 145pc of quota (around $4bn for Pakistan), this too would result in exceptional access, regardless of the total size of the new programme.

The upshot is that there are a range of plausible scenarios in which Pakistan ends up being subject to the Fund’s exceptional access criteria. The toughest of these is that the IMF requires adequate safeguards on debt sustainability.

The Fund will make two assessments in this regard.

First, the Fund will decide what zone of debt sustainability Pakistan falls in. If the debt is unsustainable, it is classified in the Red Zone; if the debt is sustainable, but not with a high probability, it is classified in the Grey Zone; sustainable with a high probability falls in the Green Zone.

The Fund pays attention to two main variables when assessing the zone of debt sustainability: debt to GDP ratio, and gross public financing need/ GDP. For Pakistan, the former is close to the IMF’s high-risk threshold for emerging markets (70pc of GDP), while the latter is well above the corresponding high-risk threshold for emerging markets (15pc of GDP); these thresholds are discussed in the recent Argentina exceptional access programme request in 2018. Given this, it seems unlikely that the Fund will classify Pakistan in either the Green Zone or the Red Zone, and it is likely to end up in the Grey Zone.

Second, the Fund must decide if the conditions mandated by its exceptional access lending rules are satisfied for the zone of debt sustainability the country is assessed to be in.

On this, the Fund’s exceptional access lending rules generally require that countries falling in the Grey Zone undertake some kind of re-profiling operation on its existing loans. This is to ensure IMF money is not used to pay off other junior creditors — something the Fund regretted doing during the 2010 Greek bailout.

A re-profiling is a lighter form of restructuring which usually involves a lengthening of the debt’s maturity, with no change in the nominal principal or interest payments. In Pakistan’s case, the re-profiling could cover the sovereign’s external commercial debt, as well as bilateral loans from China as well as Paris Club creditors.

Give this senile paki a Sitara-e-Fursat! Plenty of time on his hands.

Indo-Pak relations

India and Pakistan are two immediate neighbouring countries of South-Asia.
India and Pakistan both had been created on the basis of “Two Nation” theory
The hawkish Hindu political leaders of India, who had for a long time been dreaming of “Akhand Bharat” became disappointed and had not accepted the creation of Pakistan.

You know where this article is headed, right? Read on for more fun...
The megalomaniac leaders of India had therefore started with occupying the nearby islands in Indian Ocean, then with fake documents prepared from the ruler of the state of Jammu Kashmir and an absurd plea had attacked and occupied the state and lastly violating the agreement as before attacked and occupied pro-Pakistan rulers’ states of Hyderabad and Junagarh.
India then in 1948, in collaboration a prominent ruler of Baluchistan had attacked Baluchistan from the soil of Afghanistan.
Gen. Akbar Rangroot had repulsed the attack, captured all enemy-soldiers and presented them before Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah
In 1965 war between India and Pakistan inside the disputed state of Jammu and Kashmir, India had violated by attacking Pakistan at its international borders.
The political leadership of Pakistan foreseeing and smelling the Indian future designs goals and their intentions against Pakistan, in spite of great hurdles had therefore decided to become Nuclear in its defense and deterrence against India.
[T]he day Mr. Modi became the Prime Minister of India, he and fanatic Hindu extremist political parties known for their anti-Muslim and anti-Pakistan stance and enmity, he has constantly been busy in brutally crushing the movement of self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir lasting for seventy long years.
Regarding Mr. Modi’s policy for Pakistan, he has started a proxy war of terrorism inside Pakistan financially supporting the separatist movement in Baluchistan and trying to destroy its economy.
Moreover Mr. Modi has stopped water supply of Pakistan
has further threatened and vowed to convert Pakistan into desert
Similarly, no government of Pakistan shall ever forget Kashmir issue and leave it alone.

Some Indians Getting Sucked Into That Dam Fund

Indian nationals contribute to Pakistan’s dams fund
Sept 11, 2018

LAHORE – In what can be termed an effort to relax ties between two neighbouring countries, Indian expatriates have contributed funds for construction of dams in Pakistan. Two Indian nationals, (Hope that "two Indians" does not a summer make! ) who apparently work in the United Arab Emirates, handed over the amount to Pakistani expats for depositing it to Supreme Court of Pakistan’s “Diamer Basha And Mohmand Dam Fund,” shows a video circulating on Twitter.
The contribution of the foreign national comes after Prime Minister Imran Khan appealed to the Pakistanis living abroad to contribute to dams fund, assuring the nation that he would protect the public money.
“I urge overseas Pakistanis to contribute to this fund. If every overseas Pakistani contributes to this we will be able to construct the dams and our reserves will also improve,” said PM Khan in a televised address to the nation.

Indians should contribute to the baki dam. Just line up around the dam and pee! It will fill up in no time.

And now this (from the nation that calls India the rape center of the world):

'93% of Pakistani women experience sexual violence'

Pakistan is among those countries where 70% women and girls experience physical or sexual violence in their lifetime by their intimate partners and 93% women experience some form of sexual violence in public places in their lifetime.
Madadgaar National Helpline 1098...quoting the statistics of international organisations
“The data recorded by our organisation is just the tip of the iceberg. Our helpline would [if there was awareness] have been flooded with calls from victims and survivors” he stated, adding that only 10% cases of violence are being reported in Sindh and Punjab in media with even less reporting from Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.
According to the World Economic Forum, it will take another 169 years to bridge the gender gap at our current pace, he shared.
“Out of the total cases reported on the helpline, the highest percentage of victims was that of women at 56%,” explained Madadgaar’s general manager Muhammad Ali Bilgrami who added that cases reported by boys were 16%, 15% by girls and 13% by men.
Most of the violent crimes committed against women are strictly prohibited by laws in Pakistan such as child marriage, sexual violence, domestic violence, karo-kari, kidnapping and harassment, said Awan

The Mullah Brigade Cares Two Hoots About The World Economic Fraternity Rallying Around Atif Mian

Top 90 economists, 8 Nobel laureates support Atif Mian over EAC's removal

KARACHI: More than 90 top economists, including many working in Pakistan and 8 Nobel laureates, have lent their support to Atif Mian after his removal by the PTI government from a newly-constituted Economic Advisory Council.
“It is with dismay that I learned recently that Princeton's Atif Mian, one of the greatest scholars on finance and macroeconomics I know, was disinvited from Pakistan's Economic Advisory Council because of his religious beliefs,” Dani Rodrik, a Turkish economist and Ford Foundation Professor of International Political Economy at the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University, said in his statement on September 11. Significance of the date
“Timur Kuran and I have put together a statement, along with many friends who support Atif. We already have more than 90 signatories, including 26 economists working in Pakistan and 8 Nobel Prize winners," he said.
“We, the undersigned economists, believe that Atif Mian would be a fantastic addition to the Economic Advisory Council (EAC) of Pakistan. Professor Mian is a first-rate economist with expertise in development economics, financial economics, and macroeconomics,” according to the statement.
The Kaptaan "knows" when to not cross the Red Lines drawn by the Mullah Brigade . Even his "beloved" Jemima "expressed disappointment" at his capitulation to the Islamists

If 26 top economists are already in pakhanistan, why do they need an imported qadiani economist from America?

Deep State Mainstreams Religious Extremists. Imran Khan Mainstreams Use Of Charas (Cancer Treatment Onlee !) In Pakiland

In a first, Pakistan to allow "Charas" for cancer treatment across the country
Sept 11, 2018

*ISLAMABAD - The Senate Standing Committee on Narcotics Control Tuesday said that it will make legislation to allow the use of ‘charas’ for the treatment of cancer across Pakistan.*
Director General Anti-Narcotics Control Major General Musarrat Malik informed the drugs caught by his force will be used in the treatment of cancer and its revenue will be used for promotion of ANF activities.
Fauj to get its usual commission
DG ANF informed the committee that treatment and rehabilitation centers are being established in Lahore and Hyderabad.
“Pakistan is a signatory to all UN drug control conventions as well as SAARC convention on drug control,” he said.
Use of marijuana (charas) has been medically proven to be a better pain killer, provided the "strain" given to patients is genetically altered for that purpose . Do the Pakis have the scientific know how needed for this ? Before all this "good" news can be celebrated , a word of caution . Are the Mullahs on board ? Is it Sharia Compliant . Hadith cited . When is a fatwa coming out of the Islam Ideological Council

Bheekonomics ( Economics Of Begging ) And faqir-e-azam ( Beggar In Chief ) Should Be Added To The BRF Lexicon

Imran Khan sacking Princeton professor can invite EU censure, hit Pakistan’s trade ties
Sept 11, 2018
The Print
Gul Bukhari

One of the most shocking aspects of the sacking of Princeton professor and economist Atif R. Mian from Pakistan’s Economic Advisory Council is that Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government has clearly violated the fundamental rights guaranteed to all citizens in the nation’s constitution. And, it may also trigger negative international ramifications.
Article 27(1) of the Pakistani constitution assures “safeguard against discrimination in services… on the ground only of race, religion, caste…”
The so-called constitution of Pakiland is violated more in the breach !
Besides the illegality of the move to sack Atif Mian for his Ahmedi identity, it was a high-profile blunder that is likely to have far-reaching global consequences for Pakistan. Especially because former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had, after all, made a commitment to the European Union to undo the historic discrimination against Ahmedis in Pakistan in return for trade concessions.
Frankly, apart from textiles ,sports equipment, and of course Terrorism, Drugs and "Refugees" what can Pakistan really export to Europe .
During Sharif’s government, parliament had unanimously enacted the Elections Act 2017, which scrapped the entire Conduct of General Elections Order 2002 inserted by former dictator General Pervez Musharraf. The new Act had potentially enabled Ahmedis to vote on the joint electorate rolls, without declaring themselves as non-Muslims. This would have served to end their disenfranchisement from the electoral process. The Ahmedia community has historically refused to vote under these conditions as they identify themselves as Muslims.
However, Imran Khan with the help of Islamist elements had run a relentless campaign of Khatm-e-Nabuat against Sharif and the amendment was reversed putting the Ahmedias back in the dock.
The sacking of Mian by Khan’s PTI government will not have escaped the eyes of the EU or other Western trading partners. If Sharif’s government was seen as well-meaning but helpless in its attempt at bettering the country’s human rights record, Khan’s will be seen as positively bigoted and incognisant of the financial and economic risks these sort of moves pose in a global era. Imran has decided to "ride the Islamic Tiger" . Let us see, if he able to dismount before damage is done !
Disastrously, Mian’s removal was quickly followed by the protest resignations from the Council of the two remaining economists of international repute — Dr Asim Ijaz Khwaja (professor of international finance and development at the Harvard Kennedy School) and Imran Rasul, (professor of economics at the University College, London). “They drove @AtifRMian off their economic advisory council?! Are they nuts?” tweeted Austan Goolsbee, an economics professor at University of Chicago’s Booth School of Business. He is also a former Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers. Many others joined him in condemnation.
Other consequences of this sacking become ironically apparent by one of Mian’s own policy recommendations in a piece he wrote before he was engaged, “One of the government’s first orders of business should be to do everything it can to attract this top talent into Pakistan. This requires changing Pakistan’s narrative and promoting a pluralistic society. Today’s much sought-after global talent increasingly demands an open and free society.” The protest resignations of Khwaja and Rasul have already demonstrated that Pakistan is on the reverse path to attracting talent back into a country.
Imran is pleading for oversees Pakis to come back, and "invest their expertise" in Naya Pakistan. Not sure, how many will respond now ( Qadianis of course, need not apply !)
Right on the heels of these resignations came Khan’s appeal to expatriate Pakistanis to donate for a dam fund announced earlier by the Chief Justice of Pakistan. “I am still stunned that on a day we’re all busy absorbing the news of what has happened on the EAC, Imran Khan decides to deliver a public appeal asking overseas Pakistanis to donate to the dam fund,” tweeted Khurram Husain, the highly respected business editor at Dawn newspaper. Twitter went up in a blaze with dam poetry and memes such as ‘bheekonomics’ (economics of begging) and ‘faqir-e-azam’ (beggar-in-chief). BRF should popularize these new terms ASAP
Journalist Murtaza Solangi pointed out the foolish and unviable nature of the appeal given the share of expats in the Rs 1.93 billion collected so far in two months is only 1 per cent, with the rest of the money having been raised from resident Pakistanis via forced salary cuts, and extortion of errant members of the assemblies by the Chief Justice, and some high profile donations by those seeking to curry favour with the powers that be.
Justice is dispensed and the "punishment" many times is forced donation to the CJP Dam Fund ( no guarantee that the monies will not go into the CJP Retirement Fund  )
The other farcical aspect is, assuming the current rate of fund donations hold, it would require 120 years ( not if you count the fake donations by Zukerberg, Mush and others !) to gather the total required sum of Rs 1.45 trillion. Khan’s appeal coming in the wake of the exit of three economists rang ominous.
To compound the horror, fears of “launching crackpot schemes and wild goose chases under the garb of economic policy” according to Husain, started to come true. The task force promised by the finance minister to bring back ‘looted $200 million’ stashed in foreign accounts became a reality, and the chase began Saturday – notwithstanding the fact that neither is there any evidence such an amount in ‘looted’ wealth exists, nor a penny has ever been recovered from anyone’s offshore accounts. The tragi-comic provenance of the imagined number was investigated and debunked by Husain long ago.
Bukhari should have waited at least 90 days ( honeymoon period ) before raking the Kaptaan in this article !)
However, in its very first meeting, the task force was obliged to revise the targeted figure down to $0.8 billion, a mere 0.4 per cent of the electoral campaign promises.
Next, Imran Khan chaired the first Economic Advisory Council meeting and pondered on out-of-the-box solutions for Pakistan’s current account deficit, and a wide import-export gap, and discussed bans on imports of cheese, smartphones and luxury cars. “You see how much cheese is coming in this country from abroad,” said Ashfaq Hasan Khan, a university professor, one of the remaining members of the EAC. “Market is full of imported cheese. Does this country, which doesn’t have dollars, deserve this, that it is importing cheese?”
The lastest "out of the box" solution to raise funds is the legalization of charas for medical treatment !
The public is directly co-relating mind-numbingly dumb discussions reported at the EAC with the exit of brilliant economists. The deep worry and trepidation is cloaked in mirth, as usual, having resulted in Twitter hashtags like #CheeseGate and memes like ‘Imran Khan will Make Pakistan Grate Again’ – first tweeted by Reuters correspondent Drazen Jorgic.
In an effort to normalise the chicanery that is passing off for economic policy of the government, PTI minister Shahram Tarakai tweeted a fake, generated news image of Dawn newspaper asserting that the first governor general of Pakistan, Muhammad Ali Jinnah appealed to overseas Pakistanis to deposit money in the ‘Partition fund’ – on Sunday, 30 August 1947, fourteen days after Partition.
There is no light at the end of this tunnel — yet. And the entire world, including the IMF, is watching.

Pompeo assured US won’t block Pakistan’s bid to seek IMF bailout: Fawad Chaudhry – Reuters

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo assured Pakistan last week Washington would not try to block any request for a bailout from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), Pakistani Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said on Tuesday. Read on further much further- the end for the usual truth!

The remarks, which Chaudhry said Pompeo made during his visit to Pakistan on Wednesday, come in stark contrast to Pompeo’s warnings in July that the US had serious reservations about the IMF giving money to Pakistan due to concerns Islamabad would use the cash to pay off Chinese loans.

Impasse in Pak-US ties broken in talks with Pompeo, says FM Qureshi

Those comments rattled Islamabad, which is facing a currency crisis and may have no option but to turn again to the IMF for a rescue if staunch allies China and Saudi Arabia do not offer more loans to prop up its foreign currency reserves.

Chaudhry told Reuters that relations between United States and Pakistan were “broken” before Pompeo’s trip to Islamabad but the visit had “set many things straight” and re-invigorated ties.

“He assured Pakistan that…if Pakistan opted to go to IMF for any financial help, the USA will not oppose it,” Chaudhry said in the capital, Islamabad.

The US embassy in Islamabad did not have any immediate comment.

PM Imran, Pompeo discuss ‘aid’ suspension, Afghan peace

The new government of Prime Minister Imran Khan, who took office in August, is trying to avert a currency crisis caused by a shortage of dollars in an economy hit by a ballooning current account deficit and dwindling foreign currency reserves.

Officials say they are discussing taking drastic measures to avert seeking a bailout from the IMF, which has come to Pakistan’s rescue 14 times since 1980, including most recently in 2013.

Pakistan’s relations with the United States have soured in recent years over the war in Afghanistan. President Donald Trump in January accused Pakistan of lies and deceit by playing a double game on fighting terrorism.

Islamabad denies aiding insurgents in Afghanistan and lashed out against Trump’s remarks, which were followed up by Washington suspending US military aid.

Rabbani urges PM to shun meeting with Pompeo

At the United States’ urging, a group of Western countries in February convinced a global body to put Pakistan on a terrorism financing watch list, a move that triggered concerns the United States may also seek to block Islamabad in other forums.

In July, Pompeo said there was “no rationale” for the IMF to bail out Pakistan. Pompeo’s worries that Islamabad would use the IMF money to pay off Chinese loans echoes concerns by other U.S. officials that China is saddling many emerging market countries with too much debt. Beijing staunchly denies such claims.

“There’s no rationale for IMF tax dollars, and associated with that American dollars that are part of the IMF funding, for those to go to bail out Chinese bondholders or China itself,” Pompeo said in July, referring to a possible Pakistan bailout.

But during last week’s visit, Pompeo said he was hopeful of “a reset of relations” long strained over the war in Afghanistan. Ye Kya Hua Kaise Hua

According To This Report, China Offers To Build An Oil Refinery In Gwadar

CPEC: Pakistan has a strategic plan for Gwadar
Sept 12, 2018

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan wants to develop Gwadar not only as economic hub but also an oil city under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project, Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan said Monday.
CPEC financing or IMF Financing
This, he said, during his meeting with Chinese Ambassador Yao Jing who called on him to discuss various aspects of the multi-billion dollars plan being executed by China as a flagship project of President Xi’s Belt & Road Initiative commonly known as ‘New Silk Road’. Future projects related to oil and gas exploration, petroleum transportation and processing, also came under discussion.
The minister also said that Balochistan is the top priority in CPEC projects.
There were earlier reports which had mentioned that the Chinese are building an exclusive city in Gwadar , meant for their own Chini Nationals in Gwadar, complete with their own security and what not . Some sort of a Chinatown in Gwadar , if you may want to call it that !
The Chinese Ambassador also offered to establish technical training centers in Pakistan alongwith major oil and gas pipelines across the country. CPEC should not be constrained in limited areas it should have open avenues in other fields.
And there was the harebrained idea of building an oil pipeline right up from Gwadar to Khunjarab Pass- the oil coming from the nearby Hormuzd Straits - notwithstanding the unfriendly terrain, the hostile Malsic tribesmen living in that area , the extreme climatic conditions prevailing there ! Makes sense IMO, taking into consideration that the Chinese have their eyes on Naval/ submarine base for servicing their fleet patrolling the Arabian Sea / Indian Ocean !

Bahrain Turns Its Back On Bakis

Bahrain Has Temporarily Banned Pakistanis from Entering the Country

A number of Pakistanis have voiced their concerns over the social media regarding the discriminatory behavior from the Bahrain authorities, saying that they are not being allowed entry to Bahrain.
The local companies are also facing issues in getting work permits and visas for Pakistani workers from Labor Market Regulatory Authority.Gulf Daily reports that Pakistanis entering Bahrain are facing a temporary ban. The authorities have put new visas for Pakistanis on hold while those who are already present in the country are being sent to police stations for fingerprint verification.
I was under the impression that Imran has banned " Pakistaniyat" ! If media reports were to be believed, Pakiland was the main supplier of "muscle power" ,( ex fauj, ex police ) used by the Sunni Sheiks of Bahrain to suppress the majority Shias
Pakistani passport holders in Bahrain are being ordered to reach their nearest police stations with all the official documents for manual verification.Authorities are also in touch with several companies in the country to get the details of Pakistani employees employed by Bahrain-based firms and employers.
Pakis up to their "usual tricks" again !
A banker working in the country believes that no-objection certificates (NOCs) will be issued, following the verification by the authorities.Several people have highlighted the issue on social media, complaining that they were not even given a valid reason for the entry ban. The matter has been raised in a bid to get the attention of the Pakistani authorities so that the issue can be resolved and Pakistanis working in Bahrain can live in peace.
So, in plain and simple terms, they are being "harassed" and this is a cry for help . Madame Mazari/Jalebi should take "due note"!

A Man Who Blinds A Student With A Knife And Then Attacks His "Private Parts" , Gets Bail By A Paki Court

Man jailed for blinding student gets bail
Sept 12, 2018

LAHORE - The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday granted bail to a man who allegedly attacked a 9th class student with a knife, blinded him and severely damaged his private parts.
The court directed the accused to submit surety bonds of Rs200,000 to get bail.
The single bench consisting of Justice Syed Shahbaz Ali Rizvi heard the bail application of accused Waqar alias Waqari. The applicant's counsel submitted to the court that the accused had nothing to do with the case and he was implicated. He contended that the medical report proved that the allegations levelled against the accused were baseless. He pleaded to the court to grant bail to the accused. However, the prosecution opposed the petition saying that solid evidence was available against the accused. The court, after hearing detailed arguments of the parties, granted the accused bail and directed him to submit surety bonds to get relief.
According to the FIR got registered by Muhammad Javed with Sundar Police Station in 2017 under Section 324 of the PPC, his son Aish Muhammad was coming home from his academy on a motorbike when four people held him and tortured him.Javed said the assailants attacked Aish's eyes with knives, gouged the eyeballs out, and severely damaged his private parts in the knife attack.
Such viscous killers do not belong on the streets of La-Whore, home to Imran, Nawaz, Raheel and many others !

London Based Paki Expert Says That Diamer - Bhasha Dam Is Not Technically Feasible !

Folly, thy name is Diamer-Bhasha
Sept 10, 2018
Daily Times
Daanish Mustafa

I noted with some disbelief the Prime Minister’s pledge to build Diamer-Bhasha dam amongst others, with donations from overseas Pakistanis. According to the World Commission on dams, on average all dam projects suffer about 98 percent cost escalations. Our recent Neelum-Jehlum project has suffered a cost overrun of 500 percent. Meaning it will cost five times more than it was supposed to. On average, dams end up costing about twice as much as they are projected to. At the moment, the projected cost of Diamer-Bhasha Dam is given to be $14 billion. If one is to take conservative projections for cost escalation, the dam will probably end up costing $28 billion. Escalations beyond that level are simply unthinkable, even if one can imagine a $28 billion investment in a dam.
If he is not an Ahmedi, he should be made "welcome" in Immy' s EAC
Pakistan’s total official GDP in 2016 was $284 billion. This means that with Diamer-Bhasha dam, we will be roughly committing to a project equivalent to 10 percent of our total GDP. The biggest infrastructure project in Europe today is the Crossrail project in London at $19 billion. But that is being financed by the British economy, which is worth $2.6 trillion. Does anyone see the sheer disproportionate commitment that Pakistani people are being asked to make for this dam? Which — to be clear — may not be necessary in the first place.
But the alternative is to be "without water" . So, Dam it will be
It has been known in the inner recesses of the engineering establishment of Pakistan for the past 20 years or so, that the Diamer-Bhasha dam is not technically feasible because of the seismic risk. The dam site lies at the plate boundary between the Indian and Eurasian plates. The site is traversed by multiple fault lines, which are well recognised even by WAPDA’s own feasibility studies. Engineers like Bashir Malik, who is former technical advisor to the World Bank and United Nations and one of the most ardent supporters of dam building in Pakistan, have categorically stated that the risk of earthquake induced failure at the Diamer-Bhasha dam site is too great to carry on with construction.
What Immy wants, Immy gets
To build a dam on the Indus River, which has one of the highest silt loads in the world, is perilous in the best of circumstances. On top of that, the engineers are angling for one of the highest concrete filled dam in the world. It is well known that the weight of water behind high dams can typically trigger massive earthquakes. This is a well-documented phenomenon. Knowing all of this, why is the country’s time and money being wasted on a project which even engineers know is not feasible?
Imran should invite Mustafa . And Mustafa should convince The Khan on the folly of his decision
It is no coincidence that despite multiple inaugurations, construction has been unable to move forward. According to mainstream narratives, this is because of problems with financing. Even the Chinese have pulled out-and they love dams and are considered champion dam builders. This is not because of any conspiracy. It is because every financier knows what WAPDA knows, the dam is a high risk proposition and a country wagering 10 percent of its net value on such a project is not a worthwhile investment. I did not have a revelation about this project, nor have I done any personal research on it. It is the government’s own studies that highlight the factors that I speak of.
The Chinis are also involved
I have never written about Diamer-Bhasha because I know that because of the seismic risk, no one is going to finance it. I also know that the Pakistani engineers know that it is not feasible. Furthermore, anyone with elementary math skills can tell that crowd sourcing financing for dams can take hundreds of years. The project will probably get inaugurated a few more dozen times, until life takes us onwards to other distractions.

The Kaptaan should heed the advice of an "expert"
