Pakistan drops one position in Henley Passport 2018 rankings
According to this report, pakis can travel visa-free into the following nations:

Cambodia, Maldives, Nepal, Timor-Leste, Benin, Cape Verde Islands, Comores Islands, Djibouti, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Madagascar, Mauritania, Mozambique, Rwanda, Seychelles, Somalia, Tanzania, Togo, Uganda, Cook Islands, Micronesia, Niue, Palau Islands, Samoa, Tuvalu, Vanuatu, Dominica, Haiti, Montserrat, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Trinidad and Tobago, Bolivia and Qatar.

By the way, Qatar and Bolivia should not be in that list. They do not give visa free entry to pakis. I fact-checked.

Frankly speaking (and this shows my low intellect), I had to look up the names in red. Who in the world (except a paki) would want to go there? How do you get there? And, what the hell is wrong with the nations in green?

Blasphemy!!

Armed assailants tried to barge into BNP chief Akhtar Mengal's residence
Unidentified armed assailants tried to barge the residence of Balochistan National Party (BNP) leader Akhtar Mengal in Wadh, a town in the Khuzdar District of Balochistan.
"There has been an unsuccessful attempt to attack the Mengal residence in Wadh. Men tried to barge inside with grenades and weapons but were stopped by security."
Mengal added that there were plenty of these threats from cowards before, adding "let me just make it clear that nothing scares me except Allah."
Did the ex-governor just say that allah scares him?

Naya pakhanistan housing application and registration form. Note that it asks the applicant where he or she wants to live (own a house). One of the choices is Gilgit. Isn't that illegal for a non kashmiri to move to Gilgit Baltistan?

That one country in green in particular should be of biggest concern to us.

A visa free-travel to Nepal is basically a visa-free travel to India.

Didn't they recently merge it into Pakistan as a separate state or at least try to? There was a lot of rona dhona from Kashmiri separatists etc that it weakens the 'Kashmir cause' and bolsters India's case, whereas there was barely a squeak out India with the foreign office babus sleeping through it all.

No, it has not been merged. They changed the name from Northern Territories to GB. China has been pressurizing Terroristan to announce that as the fifth Province so that CPEC could be on more solid grounds. Terroristan seriously mulled it, came very close to doing so but baulked in the last minute.

Pakistan requests IMF for bailout package

Asad Umar announcing government decision to initiate negotiations with IMF for economic recovery.

NUSA DUA, INDONESIA: Pakistan has formally requested the International Monetary Fund for the financial assistance to help address country’s economic challenges, Christine Lagarde, Managing Director IMF said in a statement Thursday.

Moody’s warns Pakistan on high debt refinancing

“Today, I met with Pakistan’s Minister of Finance, Revenue and Economic Affairs, Asad Umar, Governor of the State Bank of Pakistan Tariq Bajwa, and members of their economic team. During the meeting, they requested financial assistance from the IMF to help address Pakistan’s economic challenges,” the statement added without mentioning further details.

Also read: High on rhetoric, low on promise

“An IMF team will visit Islamabad in the coming weeks to initiate discussions for a possible IMF-supported economic program. We look forward to our continuing partnership,” it added.

Earlier today, the IMF chief said she would meet with Pakistani officials with expectations that Islamabad will request a bailout of its shaky economy.

Lagarde said the IMF was yet to receive anything formal from Islamabad but that she and other IMF officials would meet with the Pakistani delegation in Bali on Thursday afternoon.

Pakistani delegation holding talks with IMF Managing Director.

"I’m assuming that there might be a programme request on their part, but that has not been discussed and we will explore that this afternoon," she told a press briefing.

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday vowed to steer the country out of a looming balance-of-payments crisis, saying it needs $10-12 billion.

"We will get out of this. I will take (the country) out of this," he said.

Khan’s new administration took office in August vowing to weigh up whether to seek an IMF bailout as it sought other avenues of financing.

He has sought loans from friendly countries, promised to recover funds stolen by corrupt officials, and embarked on a series of populist austerity measures.

But help has been in short supply and economists’ warnings have grown increasingly urgent.

Pakistan has gone to the IMF several times since the late 1980s. The most recent was in 2013, when Islamabad got a $6.6 billion loan to tackle a similar crisis. Crises Come and Crises Go but Terroristan KEEPS BEGGING FOREVER!

Free fall for rupee: Dollar soars by Rs9.37
KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: Rupee on Tuesday plunged around 8 per cent (Rs9.37) in the interbank, while the trade at the open market remained almost lull amidst concerns that authorities may be powerless to defend the currency ahead of a planned bailout talks with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) said the exchange rate in the interbank market closed at Rs133.64 to the US dollar against the previous day’s closing of Rs124.27.
In the open market, the rupee extended losses, touching the 138-level amid heavy dollar buying. The Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, however, quoted the rupee closing at 134.50, 4.66 per cent weaker from the previous day.
"We need $8 billion to pay back our loans and $28 billion to run the country," the information minister said . So the BEGGARS NEED USD 36 BILLION
Meanwhile, Minister for Ports and Shipping Ali Zaidi said they had heard about the dollar price reaching Rs140, but added that the people would see good times in the future. What GOOD TIMES? Does Ali Zaidi want the Terroristani Rupee to "Hit the Rate US$ ONE = Terroristani Rupees 200?"

Highest One Day Loss In Stock Market ( In A Decade !) On Official IMF Loan Announcement

Pakistan to seek its largest loan package from IMF
Dawn
Oct 11, 2018
WASHINGTON: Pakistan is seeking its largest loan package of up to $8 billion from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to bail itself out from a severe crisis that threatens to cripple its economy, diplomatic sources told Dawn.
The sources said that the IMF could place strict conditionalities, ( Code word for CPEC Chini loan repayments  ) forcing Pakistan to seek additional loans for meeting those restrictions and this could expand the loan facility to $12bn.
Chini loan repayments will carry additional interest
Pakistan began exploring the possibility of yet another loan package with the IMF while the PML-N was still in power and the exploratory talks continued under the interim government as well. The final decision, however, was announced on Monday night when Finance Minister Asad Umar confirmed that the government was going to the IMF to bail Pakistan out of its foreign currency crisis.
It was an open secret that Saudia and Cheen would not oblige and Pakiland would have to "beg" IMF for a loan package
The announcement followed the highest single-day loss in a decade in the stock market, which plunged by over 1,300 points, losing almost Rs270bn of its capitalisation.
On Tuesday, the IMF said that it would listen to Pakistan’s request for financial support “very, very attentively”, as it did with any member with good standing.
So, they are "members in good standing" ie paying their annual dues and attending meetings, etc and "bad mouthing" IMF at the same time
Pakistan has received more than a dozen financial support packages from the IMF in the past. It completed the last three-year package of $6.4bn in August 2016, which was 216 per cent of Pakistan’s quota at the IMF.
Regular customer
The previous programme also aimed at “bringing down inflation and reducing the fiscal deficit to more sustainable levels”. It included measures to “help achieve higher and more inclusive growth, in particular through addressing bottlenecks in the energy sector”.At a news briefing on Tuesday, IMF chief economist Maurice Obstfeld outlined the economic challenges that Pakistan was facing now and also commented on its ability to finance itself.
How does IMF loans jive in with Sharia Compliant guidelines . Is not Interest haraam under Sharia
Asked how would the IMF react to Pakistan’s request for an emergency bailout package, he said: “As with any member in good standing, they are certainly entitled to request financial support from the Fund. So, we will be listening very, very attentively when and if they come to us.”He noted that Pakistan has “frequently… had programmes in the past several times… and that is a very good sign going forward”.
Paki beggars cannot be choosers . They will be "forced" to take the IMF bitter medicine . Not sure, if the Islamic patient believes in "western medicine" . They should go to the unani hakims ( Saudia and Iran ) for "health restoration"

FATF To Pakistan : You Did NOT Do Your Homework Properly

Inspectors not impressed with work done on FATF list
Dawn
Oct 11, 2018
ISLAMABAD: Not impressed with the progress made so far, a delegation of the Asia Pacific Group (APG) has asked Pakistan to do more and get its house in order so that it may get out of the grey list of the Paris-based Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
FATF "Black List" will welcome Pakistan ! "Friends", NOKO and Iran are there !
Apparently the group members found the legal framework insufficient, and the institutional arrangements weak. According to sources, the delegation feared that the set-up installed for scrutinising the activities of non-profit organisations, brokerage houses, exchange companies and donations of corporate entities — registered under the companies act — was not robust enough.
Did the FATF "Inspectors" take ISI into confidence when they discussed these measures
The sources said that the APG believed that even in areas where the legal framework appeared vigorous, the implementation mechanism was not geared to track down financial flows of the entities in question, because the agencies involved were not well-connected. This weakness was prominent in real estate brokerages where large business transactions remained outside the ambit of legal records.
IOW, implementation was lacking !
A team of the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) reported to the APG that brokerage houses were largely documented though real estate dealers and their operations were generally outside its area of regulation. The APG also noticed shortcomings in commodity trading — and the effectiveness of laws against money laundering through cross-verification of service providers.
It is not to the benefit of the Paki State to implemented these corrective measures , as it would be detrimental to some of the shenanigans practiced by the Deep State, The D Gang and other Non State Actors involved in Pakistan !
The sources said the delegation asked the relevant authorities to issue deadlines for resolving the flagged weaknesses so that the problems could be remedied and future performance evaluations be made on the proposed matrix. The authorities would also have to properly record the number of donation boxes placed by religious and other organisations at restaurants and business centres among other places. Besides, all currency and real estate dealers would have to record every transaction — both small and large.
Doubt Pakiland would implement these measures !
The purpose of the mutual evaluation onsite visit is to assess the effectiveness of Pakistan’s Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) regime under FATF methodology. The visiting team included Ian Collins of the United Kingdom’s Scotland Yard, James Prussing of the United States Department of the Treasury, Ashraf Abdullah of the Financial Intelligence Unit of the Maldives, Bobby Wahyu Hernawan of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, Gong Jingyan of the Peoples Bank of China and Mustafa Necmeddin Oztop of the Turkish Ministry of Justice.
Pakis have some "allies" here, like the Turkees and the Chinis !
The ministries of interior, finance, foreign affairs and law besides the SECP, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), the National Counter-Terrorism Authority (Nacta), the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Federal Board of Revenue, the National Accountability Bureau, the Anti-Narcotics Force, the Financial Monitoring Unit, the Central Directorate of National Savings and provincial counter-terrorism departments would remain available for briefings and explanations.
In June 2018, Pakistan made a high-level political commitment to work with the FATF and the APG to strengthen its AML/CFT regime and to address its strategic counter-terrorism financing-related deficiencies by implementing a 10-point action plan. The successful implementation of the plan and its verification by the APG is a prerequisite for the FATF to remove Pakistan from its grey list.
IMO, Pakistan is just going through the motions, window dressing here and there. It cannot afford to implement these measures . This will have a negative effect on its ( illegal ) activities around the world !
Earlier in August, the APG — as part of the mutual evaluation — had identified a series of deficiencies in Pakistan’s AML/CFT mechanisms. By the end of September next year, Pakistan must comply with the 10-point action plan it committed to with the FATF or else it will fall into the black list.
The authorities are required to upgrade agencies and their human resource assets to be able to handle foreign requests to block terror financing and freeze illegal assets. The authorities are working on strengthening laws for extradition of those involved in terror financing and money laundering on requests from FATF-member countries.By January next year, Pakistan will identify and assess domestic and international terror financing risks to and from its system to strengthen investigations and improve inter-agency cooperation, the FIA, the SBP, the SECP, banks, the interior department as well as all other associated federal and provincial agencies.
So, Pakistan has failed to pass these mid term exams . So, how is it expected to pass the finals

Pakistan "Improves " Its Ranking, But Still Is One Of The Most High Risk Money Laundering And Terrorist Financing Nations Of The World

Pakistan Improves its Ranking in Global Anti-Money Laundering Index
Oct 10, 2018
Pakistan has improved its ranking in the global anti-money laundering index, as per the Basel Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Report 2018 released a day ago
According to the Basel AML Index, Pakistan has improved exactly by 0.08 points and scored 6.49 on the index. However, the score is still above 5, which implies that the country is among the most vulnerable countries regarding terrorist financing and money laundering.
Moreover, Pakistan holds the 25th lowest place in the list of 123 countries in the index. It is still among the 83 countries with a higher risk of money laundering and terrorist financing. The countries with the lowest risk include Finland with 2.57 score, Estonia at 2.73, and Lithuania with 3.12 score. Finland’s progress deteriorated by 0.80 points while Estonia’s rank neither improved nor deteriorated since last year.On the other hand, Tajikistan has the highest score of 8.3, with even more deterioration by 0.03 over one year.
Factors like the countries’ efforts to end corruption, public transparency, the government’s disclosure of information about public funds, press freedom and the AML frameworks impact the risk of ML/TF. A decline in these factors impacts the ML/TF risks negatively.
Coincidently this news item is released when the FATF Team is in Pakiland and asking the Pakis "to do more" ( shades of Massa  )
The report also maintained that even the low-risk score cannot be “a leave from AML/CFT vigilance”, as recent money laundering scandals involved countries which are rated as low-risk on the 2018 index.

Pakistan's bailout exposes some serious flaws in China's belt and road plan - Mihir Sharma

Pakistan’s government has finally admitted it needs help. Finance Minister Asad Umar says he will be meeting officials of the International Monetary Fund on the sidelines of its annual meeting Bali this weekend. There he’ll try and work out the terms for a bailout that would cover a $10 billion hole in Pakistan’s financing needs.

The decision has to be a little humiliating for new Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan -- an anti-Western firebrand who’s had to turn to the West for help just like virtually every other Pakistani leader before him. More importantly, the process is likely to be a window into what’s wrong with China’s globe-spanning Belt and Road infrastructure initiative.

On the one hand, this is a familiar situation: Pakistan has had to seek bailouts 10 times since 1990 and still owes money from the last time it needed a handout. Khan was wise to approach the IMF early enough in his tenure that he can blame the previous government and accuse it of mismanagement.

Pakistan’s problem isn’t only poor macroeconomic stewardship, however. It’s the deals the preceding administration struck with China. A few years ago, Chinese President Xi Jinping promised to invest $60 billion into Pakistan’s economy. Since then, Pakistanis have hoped Chinese money would fund the power and transport infrastructure that could jump-start growth.

Building the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor -- often hailed as the most crucial leg of the Belt and Road -- has proved to be more expensive than expected. Machinery imports for Chinese projects caused Pakistan’s current account deficit to rise by over 50 percent in the first two years of the CPEC build-out. Islamabad has struggled to pay for all this and probably can’t expect more help from China: Beijing has been generous enough already, lending Pakistan $5 billion in 2017-18 and putting in an emergency $1 billion this summer when the country was staring once again at empty coffers.

If CPEC operated on straightforwardly commercial terms, none of this would be a problem. Then the projects would be remunerative for Pakistan. The IMF might demand some mild adjustment to their payment schedules and other parameters, and business could continue. The Fund’s likely other bailout terms -- devaluing the currency, privatizing the state airline, hiking interest rates and implementing long-delayed structural reforms -- would probably hurt a lot more.

But nobody expects that to be the case. In fact, it’s likely that CPEC’s costs to Pakistan are much higher than would make sense for the projects in question. Worse, currently these costs are opaque and some are hidden by the security establishment behind a veil of secrecy.

The IMF doesn’t operate like that; it will expect to be told, transparently, what the actual costs are for CPEC projects. That’s the point at which Khan’s backers in the military will begin to worry, because if the terms are as ruinous as suspected, support for CPEC -- and, by extension, for China’s paramountcy in Pakistan -- will wither. Worse, the IMF may withhold some aid: Senior U.S. officials have already said any bailout shouldn’t lead to Western taxpayers paying off Chinese bondholders.

It’s an open question what Khan himself will pick, if he’s then forced to make a choice between staying the course with CPEC and financing his own grandiose new welfare schemes. But the lesson for Pakistan’s leaders -- and, indeed, all those looking to China to rescue them from the pesky demands made by Western finance -- runs deeper.

It may seem simpler at first to take advantage of Chinese money that doesn’t demand countries carry out painful investment-friendly domestic reforms if they want to borrow money. But without structural changes of the sort that lenders like the IMF demand -- and which Pakistan, for one, has constantly postponed -- crises such as the one Islamabad now faces are inevitable. Pakistan needs to reform so that its producers and exporters thrive. Unless these enterprises succeed, CPEC can’t be paid for and, even if it gets built, it will provide few benefits to ordinary Pakistanis.

As for China, this is a moment to step back and realize that the Belt and Road as currently envisaged isn’t working as planned. Cost escalations, hidden charges and other nasty surprises have soured one country after another on Chinese-led infrastructure. Worse, Beijing simply isn’t willing to commit enough resources to play lender of last resort for the countries that the BRI might drive towards default.

As a consequence, more countries that China sought to bring within its own sphere of influence are likely to be pushed away -- and to turn again to the West for help. I suspect this isn’t where Chinese President Xi Jinping hoped his new Silk Road would lead.

Here Is A Good Example Of The Clout Of The Sifarish Factor In Pakiland

Semi-naked ‘couple’ in minister’s car
The Nation
Oct 11, 2018
LAHORE - City police last week registered a criminal case against the son of Punjab Housing Minister Mian Mahmood-ur-Rasheed and his friends for kidnapping and assaulting a police patrol in the Ghalib Market area.
The attackers also snatched away official rifles, wireless sets, and mobile phones from three policemen who were on night patrol in the posh locality. Reportedly, the son of the powerful minister and his friends got infuriated and attacked the police soon after the cops intercepted a car during routine checking.
According to the first information report, the minister’s son Hassan Rashid was caught with a girl in semi-naked condition. The boy was under the heavy influence of liquor. The car was registered in the name of the minister, police investigations revealed.
The police arrested the minister’s son. As the officers asked the ‘couple’ to go to the police station they abused the on-duty policemen and called some friends by phone. In the meantime, at least four to five unidentified men appeared there within no time. They abused, thrashed, and kidnapped the policemen while the girl and the minister’s son managed to escape from the scene, leaving the car alongside the road.
Later, the case was registered by police under section 382, 365, 353, 186, 148, 147 of the Pakistan Penal Code. As per the FIR, the policemen were on patrol near LDA Park when they noticed a girl and a boy in semi-naked condition inside a car. “When they were asked to go to the police station, they started abusing policemen. Two more cars reached the site within a few minutes to rescue the couple.”
Not enough, the friends of the minister’s son attacked the policemen and snatched away guns, wireless sets, and mobile phones from them. Also, the police say the attackers pushed them into their cars and sped away. They later dropped the policemen at different places and fled.
The following morning, the case of police abduction took a new turn as the investigators revealed that the vehicle used in the kidnapping of policemen belongs to Punjab Housing Minister Mian Mahmood Rasheed.
Then, the provincial minister called an urgent press conference and simply rejected the police claims stating that his son reached the spot to help his friends after they called him by phone. “I have asked my son to go and surrender himself to the police,” Rasheed said at the news conference. The minister claimed that his son would “fully cooperate” with the police and he would resign from the post if his son was found involved in the incident.
Most interestingly, the minister’s son did not present himself to the police. Instead, he preferred to approach the local court to get pre-arrest bail.
On Friday, a court granted interim bail to the minister’s son. The court approved bail for Mian Hassan against a surety bond of Rs 100,000 until October 15, 2018. The court has also summoned complete record of the case from Ghalib Market police station on the next hearing.A senior official told this reporter that the police came under immense pressure from the ruling party after they registered a criminal case against the minister’s son and his friends. The police were ordered not to conduct any raid for the arrest of the influential boy. Also, the minister’s son was advised to approach the court and secure pre-arrest bail in order to avoid any further embarrassment.
he Punjab province is regarded as a “police state” where police are very powerful but only for the poor. Had the accused not been the son of a minister, he would have been treated differently by police. The Ghalib Market police registered the case against the attackers soon after the incident. But when the police officers came to know that the car used in abduction of police belonged to a provincial minister they expressed anger over the FIR’s registration and admonished the local police for creating embarrassment for the high-ups. Some officers were left with no other choice except to seek apology from the minister.
n their campaign manifesto, the PTI-led government had pledged police reforms in the Punjab province stating that all people would be treated equally under the law in the “New Pakistan.” But, the recent incidents of political interference in police matters shows that it was just an election slogan and the government is no more interested in reforming the police.
Imran's Naya Pakistan or Ganja's Purana Pakiland, it does not matter ! As V.S. Naipul, the Noble Prize Winner noted in his first book on this "accursed " country, Pakistan is a vast criminal enterprise . This episode, confirms his hypothesis

Paki Election Night Plot Further Thickens

FIA asked to probe ‘anonymous’ call on election night
The Express Tribune
Oct 11, 2018
ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has sought assistance from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) to probe an ‘anonymous’ phone call, directing polling staff to stop using the Result Transmission System (RTS) during the July 25 general election.
The android-based application had ‘crashed’ on the election night. The ECP and the National Database Regulatory Authority (Nadra) pointed fingers at each other on the failure of the system while political parties cited it as a ‘proof’ of rigging.During a meeting of the Senate Standing Committee on Parliamentary Affairs on Wednesday, ECP Director General Law Muhammad Arshad revealed that an anonymous phone call was made to election officials in the wee hours of July 26. The caller had allegedly ordered returning officers not to use the RTS.
The stench of "election rigging" does not seem to go away , even 3 months from the "election"
Arshad produced a letter before the committee through which the commission has requested the FIA to conduct a forensic audit of the voice message saved in the USB – which has been sent to the FIA. He has also asked the agency to submit a comprehensive report at the earliest in order for the inquiry to proceed further.Committee member Senator Rehman Malik also discussed in detailed as to how he and his committee on the interior looked into the RTS failure and the ECP responsibility. “I shared this audio call in the House with senators a couple of months ago,” he said.
Rehman is the 007 of Pakistan
Malik said after a forensic audit of the elections process, he had reached conclusion on certain points. The RTS system started getting slower at 10:58pm on July 25 and the result receiving capacity nosedived from 50,000 to 50 results at the end, he added. The senator said that an Indian company was awarded the contract of producing the RTS software, which had its office in Hyderabad, India while another sub-office in New York, United States.
So, India has now been unnecessarily dragged into this, for all intent and purposes a Paki domestic problem
“The company is run by two hackers of India who are infamous for working for India’s Research and Analysis Wing,” he claimed.According to him, as per the findings, about 4,800 returning officers did not have smart phones while another 42,000 polling staff had already refused to comply with the ECP directives.“You should have determined those areas where connectivity was the issue,” he told the ECP officials who were unable to give a satisfactory reply to a flurry of questions from the senators.ECP DG Information Technology Khizer Hayat shared a detailed presentation with the committee about the process, usage and practicability of the RTS.
Free and Fair Election Network (FAFEN) Secretary General Sarwar Bari also gave his input and findings to the committee and stated that the connectivity with 2G was a serious problem in many areas.“No test was conducted for such areas and that led to the serious trouble,” he said.
Hand of the Deep State in all of this cannot be ruled out !

Beijing welcomes Riyadh in CPEC

QUETTA: Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Yao Jing has said China has no objection over inclusion of Saudi Arabia and other countries in the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects and would welcome Riyadh’s investment in Pakistan.

“We will welcome Saudi Arabia and other countries’ investment in CPEC projects. China wants to expand CPEC up to central Asian states via Afghanistan,” the Chinese ambassador said while speaking to businessmen and journalists at two separate functions in Quetta on Wednesday.

Chinese ambassador also confirmed that CPEC projects are being revisited in view of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led new government’s vision, adding that new development projects will be included in the project with consensus.

Govt says Riyad all set to join CPEC as third Partner

Yao said reviewing the CPEC agreement is natural as the new Pakistani government which came into power after the July 25 general election has its own agenda and vision.

The envoy said the new Pakistani government wants to give all attention to socio-economic sector and in reviewing of CPEC agreement the desire of the Pakistan’s new government would be considered.

“Both China and Pakistan governments have agreed to further expand the CPEC,” he said, adding that taking decision with mutual understanding and consensus is part of the CPEC agreement.

He said both the governments have decided to continue work on ongoing projects launched under CPEC in Pakistan and particularly Balochistan and these projects would be completed on time.

Yao said Pakistan and China have very cordial relations since long; they are not only partners in CPEC but have lots of other ties and projects in which they are helping each other. “China and Pakistan are strategic partners,” he said.

He said that the main objectives of CPEC include establishing road-network, construction of highways and motorways, power generation and developing agriculture sector.

Yao Jing said in the next phase, China will focus on joint ventures and will give attention to socio-economic sector, which is also vision of the new Pakistani government.

“Under CPEC it was decided that more resources would be provided to the western provinces of Pakistan. It is our desire to link the mega project to Central Asian states via Afghanistan and under CPEC will open new ways of development and prosperity in the entire region,” he said.

The Chinese ambassador said CPEC has entered “a new era” and that jobs would be created for the people of Pakistan through its various projects. “Balochistan offers numerous opportunities to investors in terms of agriculture, livestock, mines and minerals,” he said.

At the chamber of commerce, businessmen urged the Chinese ambassador to establish a Chinese consulate in Quetta to address their business needs. The ambassador promised the business community that their request would be discussed with Chinese high-ups.

Responding to a question about Balochistan’s share in CPEC, Yao Jing said Balochistan is an important part of CPEC and the second phase of the project would be more important for Balochistan.

He said that though entire Pakistan is equal for his country, China wants to work for the development of different sectors of Balochistan on priority. “China will help in developing agriculture, industry and other sectors in Balochistan,” he said.

Austerity axe falls on CPEC, Gwadar projects

The envoy said he is very much inspired with the vision of new federal and Balochistan governments as they want to develop socio-economic sector. “Balochistan should be main beneficiary of CPEC. Chinese investors would find out new trade and investment opportunities in Balochistan,” he added.

Yao said Balochistan has great potential in mineral resources, mining, livestock, and fisheries and there is need to work for the promotion of these sectors. He said China will extend all help and assistance to the local people for sending fruit, vegetable and seafood to international market.

He said he had a meeting with Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal and observed that new provincial government is more interested in the development of the province and providing maximum facilities to its people.

To a question, he said the Chinese universities are open for Pakistani students and these universities offer scholarships in March every year and students could apply for admission online. However, he said, Balochistan students would be provided assistance in applying for admission to the Chinese universities.

And another windmill for damn squib to charge:

Building 5m houses is not a joke: CJP
The Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday sought the opinion of Attorney General and advocates general of the four provinces over the proposed draft prepared by the amicus curie for legislation to address the issues of Katchi Abadis and rehabilitation of their inhabitants.
Commenting on the announcement to build five million houses, the Chief Justice said that the houses will not be built by announcement. He said building five million houses was not a joke. He said dollar has taken wings and things were going from bad to worse. He said if anyone wants to see the condition of the inhabitants of Katchi Abadis, then they should watch the movie “Hitchki. :rotfl:
it will take time for constructing the houses.
“Has the change come in the province and all problems of the people been resolved in Peshawar?” he questioned.
The CJP said ...it was the fundamental right of every citizen to have a residence (Really?)
The Chief Justice asked the Additional Attorney General as to when the prime minister was free to go to slum areas and assess how many people could be accommodated adding that the CDA was bent upon forcing the people to leave the slums.
The Chief Justice said that constructing five million houses was a difficult task, which will require money and time as well adding that several people will register four families in one house in order to get more houses.
He said the government should concentrate on provision of adequate facilities to dwellers of the slum areas till the construction of five million new houses.
Why should I'm the Dim worry? He has Musa-Rat for an "advisor".

Govt adds insult to injury by giving rotten wheat to starving Tharis, says Palijo
Most Tharis are low caste Hindus.
Mr Palijo said in a statement issued here on Wednesday that it was sheer insult of poor Tharis and flagrant violation of fundamental human rights that over 600,000 people were being treated like “children of lesser gods” in their worst crisis caused by long and severe drought in the rain-dependent desert region.
“The Pakistan Peoples Party leaders left poor Tharis to die a slow death throughout the 10 years of their rule by subjecting them to consume highly contaminated water,” he said.
“Successive governments in Sindh instead of addressing real issues of the desert region, including healthcare facilities, provision of clean drinking water and quality education, washed their hands of responsibility by only distributing wheat among drought-stricken people,” he said.

Our representative on the IMF Executive Board should ensure that Christine Lagarde’s commitment on obtaining full details on Conning Pakistan to Enrich China aka CPEC is 800% adhered to. Also any possibility of the IMF loans being used to allow China to bail out of Pakistani commitments must be squelched. Juicy bits about Higher than Himalaya’s, Deeper than Indian Ocean, Sweeter than Honey, As close as lips to Teeth, Stronger then Steel Iron Brother ripping off the Mohammadden Terrorism Fomenting Islamic Republic of Pakistan should be leaked thereafter:
Transcript of International Monetary Fund Managing Director Christine Lagarde's Opening Press Conference, 2018 Annual Meetings, Bali, Indonesia
October 11, 2018

Participants:

Christine Lagarde, Managing Director, IMF
David Lipton, First Deputy Managing Director, IMF
Gerry Rice, Director, Communications Department, IMF …………………

MR. RICE: Thank you, Madame Lagarde. Let me take The Wall Street Journal in the front row, please.

QUESTIONER: Madame Lagarde, thanks for taking questions.

The Government of Pakistan has said this week that it is going to seek a program from the IMF. One of the issues here is that the Government of Pakistan has incurred quite large debts, many of them from China as part of China's Belt and Road Initiative. A large number of countries have incurred very large debts as part of this initiative, and policymakers in the U.S. have expressed concerns about whether a program to Pakistan and other countries so indebted would be kind of a backdoor bailout of China.

I was wondering if you could address how the IMF would approach a program with Pakistan and other countries who may find themselves in this situation, given these concerns that have been raised about the Belt and Road Initiative. Thank you.

MS. LAGARDE: Well, first of all, I have seen, like you, the press statement, but I have not yet seen the Finance Minister of Pakistan. And David and I are going to see the delegation this afternoon. So I am assuming that there might be a program request on their part, but that has not been discussed. And we will explore that this afternoon.

Second point, the IMF is available to its entire membership. We have 189 members, and we have to serve the entire membership, each and every one of them.

Third point, in whatever work we do, we need to have a complete understanding and absolute transparency about the nature, size, and terms of the debt that is bearing on a particular country. And to really understand the extent and composition of that debt, both in terms of sovereign, in terms of state‑owned enterprises and the like of it, so that we can actually really appreciate and determine the debt sustainability of that country, if and when we consider a program.

A fourth point, this issue of debt transparency and an appropriate understanding of debt is not only going to apply to Pakistan. It has to apply to all countries. And it is part of a necessary disclosure exercise that we have to agree with our members for the purpose of a debt sustainability analysis, but also for the purpose of the governance and corruption project that has been approved by the Board of the IMF, and for which we are now moving into the implementation period. Again, on that point, fully understanding what the liabilities are and to whom they have been assigned is a necessity. ……………..

A native of La-la land in PM House
In the last ten years Imran Khan sold an adorable dream to millions of innocent people, especially the youth, which is that political leaders — except him — have deceived the masses and looted the public wealth. He wasn’t entirely wrong as by and large our political leadership failed to deliver on the expectations of people. But then the matching fact is that the democratic regimes were never allowed to perpetuate. Not a single decade past since 1950 when Pakistan didn’t see a military ruler at the helm of state affairs.
Despite these episodes of direct and indirect military rule, the narrative that Imran sold was too good to be skeptic about for the common people who, tired of their daily drudgery, political and economic helplessness, are often prone to dream of an overnight prosperity.
Riding on the slogan of ‘corruption by politicians has crippled this country’ he assured people as if there were no other bigger structural and institutional issues at the heart of the political and economic impasse, Pakistan has been stuck in.
Today, he happens to be the prime minister and PTI rules in KP and Punjab as well. But people are already dejected with their governance.
The problem at the heart of this dilemma is that the idea of running a country of over 210 million was presented to be as simple as running a charitable hospital as if there was nothing wrong with the people, system, the country and the institutions therein. Hence, fairytale like economic plans were shared to deal with the most complex predicaments.
So, people were promised that once Imran Khan, the upright leader, is at the helm, this wealth will be brought back to develop the country and to repay the loans that Pakistan has accumulated over the years.
But only if the recovery of stashed money were as simple as Imran Khan presented to his gullible voters.
Likewise, Imran Khan promised that once he’s at the helm, overseas Pakistanis will not only send increased remittances but also come back to invest here.
The biggest of all his honour-evoking promise was that come what may he would prefer to commit a suicide than going to International Monitory Fund.
The dilemma Imran Khan faces is while in opposition, he lived in the La-la land but running the government of Pakistan is a complex challenge from real world.

One Time Solid Supporter Of Deep State - "Justice" Shaukat Siddiqui - Now Being "Recommended" For Removal From Isloo High Court

Justice Shaukat Siddiqui be removed from IHC, recommends SJC
Oct 11, 2018
ISLAMABAD – Pakistan’s Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) on Thursday recommended the removal of a puisne judge at Islamabad High Court from his office over a controversial speech against the country’s superior judiciary and the premier spy agency.
The copy of the recommendation to remove Justice Shaukat Siddiqui over his controversial speech before the District Bar Association, Rawalpindi on 21 July, 2018, has been sent to President Arif Alvi.In his bombshell address to his fellow judges and a large gathering of lawyers on July 21, Justice Siddiqui alleged that officers of the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) were directly involved in manipulating the judicial affairs in the country.
It is an "open secret" like the disclosure made by Nawaz ( That Mumbai Attack was the work of Paki Deep State ), therefore the same "treatment" awaits him when he criticized the cozy relationship between judiciary and ISI !
Commenting on the matter the next day of Siddiqui’s speech while hearing a case, Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar had observed, “I read about the remarks of a judge in Islamabad and was deeply saddened”.
And in order to silence, this "bearded judge", a case of "corruption" was invented against him ( as if to say that "corruption" will not be tolerated  )
Pakistan’s military had asked the Supreme Court to take action against Siddiqui, in a press release issued the same day, the Inter-Services Public Relations stated, “An honourable judge of Islamabad High Court of Pakistan has leveled serious allegations against state institutions including honourable judiciary and the premier state intelligence agency.
Read ISI !

Image
The apex court then took a suo motu notice of the matter following which Justice Siddiqui asked the chief justice to constitute a judicial commission to probe his allegations and offered to resign if he’s proven wrong.
The SJC had been conducting the proceeding in the reference against Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui over his aggressive speech against the country’s top spy agency. After 1970, this is the first instance of the SJC recommending the removal of a high court judge.
Now, he will become a vocal supporter (hopefully !) of Ganja Sharif and the Ahmedis ( which he used to despise - with a gusto - when he was on Isloo High Court

Pakistan Will Have To Disclose All CPEC "Secret Loan Agreements" With China , If It Wants A Loan From IMF

IMF to seek 'absolute transparency' of Pakistan's debts in bailout talks
The News International
Oct 11, 2018
NUSA DUA, Indonesia: The International Monetary Fund launched formal bailout talks with Pakistan on Thursday, and IMF managing director Christine Lagarde said she would require ( means not request but demand !) “absolute transparency” of Pakistan’s debts. She said such disclosures were necessary to determine the debt sustainability of countries seeking IMF loans.

According to Paki Media, an IMF Team was recently denied access to CPEC Project and Loan Docs !
The requirements are likely to shine a spotlight on the extent, composition and terms of Pakistan’s debts to China for infrastructure projects as part of Beijing’s massive Belt and Road building program.China has pledged some $60 billion in financing to Pakistan for ports, railways and roads, but rising debt levels have caused Islamabad to cut the size of the biggest Belt and Road project by some $2 billion.
IMF is in "control" of USA . Pompeo recently told Pakistan that USA will not allow IMF Funds to be used to repay Chini Loans
“In whatever work we do, we need to have a complete understanding and absolute transparency about the nature, size, and terms of the debt that is bearing on a particular country,” Lagarde told a news conference when asked about Pakistan’s debts to China.
This point is now driven home to the Pakis by this IMF woman Head !
The United States has criticized China’s infrastructure lending, warning that it has saddled some developing countries with debts that they cannot afford to repay. U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has said there would be “no rationale” for an IMF bailout of Pakistan that pays off Chinese loans.
Lagarde said in a statement that Pakistan requested IMF assistance during a meeting with Pakistani Finance Minister Asad Umar and central bank governor Tarik Bajwa on the sidelines of the IMF and World Bank annual meetings in Bali.“An IMF team will visit Islamabad in the coming weeks to initiate discussions for a possible IMF-supported economic program,” Lagarde said. “We look forward to our continuing partnership.”If a package is agreed, it would be Pakistan’s 13th IMF bailout since 1988. The Fund lent Islamabad $6.7 billion in 2013.
Immy has told the Paki Aam Abduls that IMF loan is a short term measure

Five Million Naya Houses , The "Clever Anchor" And The Clueless Spokesman"

Govt spokesperson found ‘clueless’ about funds for housing project
Pakistan Today
Oct 11, 2018
New spokesperson appointed by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government on economy and energy issues Dr Farrukh Saleem didn’t look very convincing during his appearance on a current affairs show where he was supposed to clarify the questions related to the announcement of ‘Naya Pakistan Housing Programme’.
Saleem – an economist, financial analyst who also writes columns for an English-language newspaper – was ‘trapped’ when news anchor Shahzeb Khanzada inquired how the federal government will fund 50 million housing units during their five-year tenure, in view of the lack of funds kept in the national exchequer as well as private banks.
The spokesperson, while giving examples of Turkey and India, initially advocated that the government will subsidise the project through private investment. However, when the host elaborated that there were insufficient resources for mortgage and loans in the private banks to meet the required target, Saleem took a different line and stated that the government will recover the “looted money from money laundering and tax evasion stashed abroad”.

Please note that the newly minted "Spokesman On The Economy" does NOT have a Degree from Axact University
It was noticeable that Khanzada, by getting all facts and figures straight, unsettled the guest who appeared to be unaware of the government’s roadmap of financing of the housing project.
Did he come unprepared for the TV interview
A number of Twitter users responded to the video and shared that they were not convinced by arguments of the government’s new spokesperson.
“Farrukh (Saleem) failed to give concrete answer to SKZ’s questions about financing, rate of interest and mortgages,” columnist Imtiaz Alam tweeted.
This didn’t go well for the govt’s brand new spokesmen for economy. Shahzeb Khanzada destroyed him with a simple question: how do you intend to pay for the $180bn housing initiative? https://t.co/ZYmXlHWdPg
Economic analyst Khurram Husain was of the view that the host “destroyed” Saleem “with a simple question: how do you intend to pay for the $180bn housing initiative?”
Khurram is from DAWN. Saleem was/ is from JANG GROUP . So, it makes sense, to put down your competition

Marriageable age should be 18 for girls too: seminar
Pakistan Today
Oct 11, 2018
LAHORE: A large number of girls associated with Search for Justice, Pakistan Girl Guides Association and Child Rights Movement Punjab on Thursday urged parliamentarians to play their role in raising the minimum age of girls for marriage from 16 to 18 years in Punjab by amending the Punjab Child Marriage Restraint (Amendment) Act 2015.
What kind of blasphemy is this ! . The present age of 16 should be reduced to 10 years ! According to one Hadith PBUH got himself married to Aisha , when the "little girl" was "only" ten . And what is wrong with that ! Saudi Arabia ( from where Islamic Pakistan gets its inspirations ) "allows" girls to marry if they are 12 !

PS: The Mullah Brigade is also on the lookout for any proposal to limit polygamy ( less than 4 wives at any one time ) . Unislamic and against sharia for sure

Fauji ( Air Vice Marshal ) Brought In To Fix "Problem PIA"

Air Vice Marshal Arshad Khan appointed new PIA chairman: information minister
Dawn
Oct 11, 2018
Minister for Information and Broadcasting Fawad Chaudhry announced on Thursday some important decisions the government had arrived made, prominent among which was the appointment of a new Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) chairman."Air Vice Marshal Arshad Khan, who is a serving air vice marshal, has been appointed the new PIA chairman. He has been chosen because he is a considered a big figure in the air force and is a thorough professional," the information minister said while addressing a press conference. He said that the national carrier's state was such that it was currently facing losses worth Rs406 billion and was haemorrhaging Rs2 billion each month in operational losses.
Regarding the appointment of a new CEO for the airline, Chaudhry explained that the appointment has to undergo a process, which has been initiated. He said advertisements will be issued soon announcing the vacancy.
"We can no longer afford to sit by and watch PIA incur such massive losses. A loss of Rs2 billion each month translates to a daily loss of Rs70-80 million each day," he said expressing the gravity of the situation. He also said that a restructuring plan for the company had been submitted to the finance ministry, which will be reviewed by Finance Minister Asad Umer after he returns from Indonesia. He will then present the plan to the cabinet for its approval.
They have tried all sorts of "tricks" to "fix" this National Carrier. They imported a German to run the airline. At the end, the German was accused of corruption. He fled the country and took a PIA Boeing with him , which is still "sitting" in Germany . He claims that PIA owes him money ! Have to adopt a wait and see attitude towards this "military" solution !

Lessons For "Oxford Educated" Imran Khan

The power of necessity
Dawn
Khurram Hussain
Oct 11, 2018
THE show is about to begin. Ever since the PTI government was sworn in, a situation had been developing and now it has matured. Thus far the government has lived in some territory midway between hype and hope, but that is now drawing to a close. Once the talks with the IMF gain momentum, and the outlines of the stabilisation package begin to appear, it will become clearer to them what exactly they can and cannot do.
In the meantime, the government is fielding a great deal of criticism for going to the IMF for a loan because during his campaign Imran Khan said repeatedly that he would not add to Pakistan’s debt burden if elected to power. Let’s get one thing straight first: rhetoric aside, the government made the right decision to seek support from the IMF since that body is the lender of last resort in the international system, and all other options such as ‘begging’ (to use the language of the commerce adviser) from ‘friendly countries’ were not bearing any fruit. So the decision itself is the correct one and ought to have been made much sooner.
Imran is well known for making U Turns !
The PTI leadership should learn a lesson from this rather than reacting with anger at the taunts of the opposition. The lesson is simple: be careful what you say today because you might have to eat your words tomorrow. Be careful what commitments you make today, because, contrary to a popular saying, tomorrow does indeed come, and people remember what you had said.
Some have speculated that he suffers from foot in mouth disease
This is important to underline for a simple reason (all reasons better be simple reasons these days). When Imran Khan was campaigning for office, his lack of experience and amateur decision-making style, as well as shallow rhetoric, were often pointed out by people who did not necessarily do so as part of a political opposition. They were simply pointing out a fact.
Politics, Economics and Philosophy were his subjects in Oxford
In return, those people were told ‘don’t worry, Imran will learn, and he means well’. That worked for a while, but now we are waiting to see whether or not he is learning. The decision to go to the IMF is possibly one of the biggest learning opportunities for him, but is he learning? The first lesson he should learn is that one should be careful with one’s promises — you might actually be expected to deliver on one or two of them. Second is, be careful what you wish for, you might actually get it and then not know what to do with it. And the third lesson is, keep your eyes and ears open, power teaches its lessons in the oddest of ways.
His audience understands the language of the gutter. So, he used to talk in "gutter language" with them , when he was seeking office !
It is entirely possible that when Khan and his cohorts went around the country assailing the levels of debt and promising that they would never resort to foreign borrowing (least of all from the IMF), they never thought they would actually be made to stand by their words. Most likely, they were just saying things that sounded good, drew cheers and made for decent talk show rhetoric. So now they need to learn that these commitments have to be lived up to, or at least some of them.
The U Turn Factor again !
Offering simplistic solutions, with a childlike assurance, is precisely how he landed up having to eat his own words and go to the IMF and face the taunts of his opposition. Remember when this government came to power, most of what we heard from the mouth of Imran Khan by way of economic planning was about seeking support from overseas Pakistanis and recovering looted wealth stashed abroad. When that didn’t work out like he thought it would, the talk turned to ‘friendly countries’ and oil facilities and dollar deposits. When that didn’t work out either, we finally had the IMF.
Immy and Umer had to eat their words !!!
They wished for power, and now they have it. What they don’t have is any idea of what to do with it. So they’re chasing mirages till necessity forces their hand. This is no way to bring about change. The power they’re holding has just taught them a valuable lesson, in an odd sort of way. Imran Khan can either open his eyes and ears, pay attention to what is happening around him, learn to learn, or the next lesson that necessity will teach him is that power is not a joke, and should not be played with.

Imran's Propaganda Minister And Senator Mushahidullah Khan Spar In Paki Parliament . And A PIA Manager In London- Brother Of The Senator - Decries Victimization. Paki Behaviour At Its Best

PIA manager decries 'victimisation' after sudden transfer from London to Karachi
Oct 11, 2018
The News International - Murtaza Ali Shah
LONDON: The Pakistan International Airline’s station manager in London and younger brother of Senator Mushahidullah Khan has been transferred back to Pakistan with immediate effect after Information Minister Fawad Chaudhary and senator Mushahidhullah rowed in the parliament and attacked each other.
Was his Londonistan appointment based on sifarish in the first place
Sajidullah Khan received the notification of transfer on Wednesday afternoon. He termed it “political victimisation” by the PTI government. He told The News: “I have been transferred back to Pakistan without the PIA head office sending the replacement to London just to victimize me because I am brother of Senator Mushahidullah Khan. It is the example of worst political victimization of PTI government. It’s the party that came into power on the promise that it will not interfere in matters of institutions but I have been singled out by the government after being maligned in maligned in the parliament by the Information Minister on false grounds.”
Did he get the plum London job based on sifarish , or was he selected because he was the "best person" for the job . This needs to be investigated . PIA London has been in the news lately for wrong reasons ( drunk pilots, stewards smuggling stuff abroad, passengers complaining etc etc ), so if he just "enjoying" London and neglecting his managerial job, he should be recalled to Pakiland. If it is political victimization as he claims, too bad , because things like that happen in Pakiland
Mr Khan told this scribe that he has not been given time to wind up things in London. “I should have been given a notice so that I could make arrangements to move to Pakistan and deal with the issues of landlord, gas, electricity etc. I have to do a lot of things locally or I would be penalised for not doing so.”
Another way of looking at this , is that he has become a political football between Imran's Propaganda Minister ( Fawad ) and the Honorable Senator from Ganja's Party
He said that Fawad Chaudhary had levelled false allegations of nepotism and favouritism against his family that Senator Mushahidullah Khan inducted his brothers and female members of the family in PIA and that they got undue promotions by using political influence. He said that Fawad Chauhdray had mentioned many names of Khan family and alleged they were recruited wrongly.
An independent investigation should be done before such a drastic step is taken. But if the nepotism and favoritism is open, then the Minister is justified
Sajidulllah Khan said that Mujahidullah Khan has never been the part of PIA but retired from Pakistan Steel Mills ten years ago.
He said: “The fact is Senator mushahidullah joined PIA in 1975 and the other three brothers Mr Majidullah Khan, Rashidullah Khan joined PIA in 1970s when senator Mushahidullah khan was not in politics nor even Nawaz sharif. All of them are retired from the service except myself and I am going to be retired in few years.
Seems that all of the family has been "drinking" at the public trough, under the patronage of Ganja and his Party. Now it is the turn of PTI and Imran's cronies to drink from the same trough
“I have done Masters in Public Administration from Punjab University in 1986 and joined National institute of Population Studies as research associate and was selected for the scholarship by university of southern California USA but refused as I was looking after my ailing mother. I joined pia in 1988 as trainee officer following the PIA policy of induction of MBAs and MPAs after lengthy process of written test and interviews with the strict merit system.” :((
He said that it was sad that the PTI minister lied on floor of the assembly and twisted facts. ““My brother Senator Mushahidullah Khan was not in politics when I and my brothers were inducted in PIA. We have always been victimised by different governments on political basis due to the political status of Senator Mushahidullah Khan and his politics. I challenge the minister to take me to court and prove that I was appointed illegally.” :((
Now, with a New Sheriff in Isloo, his London World has come crashing down on him.

Happened to listen to a Desi Radio Station in Dallas during my drive back home yesterday and it happened to be the Immigration lawyer hour and when I heard the question being asked, I slammed my brakes.

The question is about marrying 1st cousin :(( :(( and apparently there are laws in many states in the US that do not allow that and this Porkistani asked if could continue to live in Texas and the lawyer answered he could not since it was against Texas law to marry the 1st cousin.

Pakistani showing off his Pakistaniyat marrying his 1st cousin. Can never straighten a dogs tail !!

3 soldiers martyred hallaled, 5 wounded as roadside bomb explodes in South Waziristan
The soldiers were reportedly carrying out routine search operations in Makeen Tehsil of South Waziristan district when the explosion took place, local officials told AFP.
There have been a number of fatal assaults in recent months in the northwest, as well as in Balochistan.
In 2016, the army said it has cleared the last militant stronghold in the country's northwest after a three-month-long operation.
Apparently, even after a scorched earth policy applied under operation bad-e-hazm, TTP is still active.
