That’s one of my fears. Though EPS/OPS roped in PMK/DMDK for arithmetic, I am not sure about transfer of votes from AIADMK to PMK/DMDK while the vice versa is higher possibility. AIADMK votes will be eaten by TTV candidates when the opposition is a PMK/DMDK/BJP candidate.Added to that minority votes will be cleanly lifted by DMK/Congress.

Now I think AIADMK will salvage some seats since PMK/DMDK votes will go into its kitty, EPS move was smart on that aspect. Else as you said it would have been a washout with DMK/Con sweeping all 39.

The 'TN always gives decisive mandates' argument is a conclusion upon which an understanding is being built. It may be empirically common, but there are exceptions:
TN Lok Sabha electoral map
Two elections (1999 and 2009) saw a fractured result, defined as the other party winning at least 10 LS seats.

What happened in 1999 and 2009 (precisely 10 and 20 years ago...) that's different from a sweep either way ?

AADHAAR DATA LEAK: DETAILS OF 7.82 CR INDIANS FROM AP AND TELANGANA FOUND ON IT GRIDS' DATABASE

AADHAAR DATA LEAK: DETAILS OF 7.82 CR INDIANS FROM AP AND TELANGANA FOUND ON IT GRIDS' DATABASE

APR 15, 2019

IT Grids, a company hired by the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) for developing its Seva Mitra app, has been found to have allegedly stored the data of 7.82 crore Indians from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

The Telangana State Forensic Science Laboratory (TSFSL) discovered this during its examination of the data recovered by the Telangana police from the premises of IT Grids (India) Pvt Ltd, on the suspicion of breach of voter ID and Aadhaar data according to a Times of India report.

As per the investigation, it was discovered that the structure and size of the database held by IT Grids was similar to what was owned by the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI). In effect, it is yet another case of Aadhaar data breach.

Aadhaar data leak: Details of 7.82 cr Indians from AP and Telangana found on IT Grids database

The UIDAI has filed a complaint on 12 April in the Madhapur police station citing the findings of the special investigation team (SIT) that discovered this data. The case has been registered under sections 37, 38(a), 38(b), 38(g), 40, 42, 44 of the Aadhaar Act 2016 and will be investigated by the SIT.

According to SIT's investigation, the Seva Mitra app is suspected to have been using stolen voter information as well as Aadhaar data of the state governments of AP and Telangana for voter profiling, targeted campaigning and even deletion of votes. The State Resident Data Hubs (SRDH) have been a matter of concern since their inception. SRDH contain Aadhaar data, including demographic and biometric data, as well as local data from other sources, such as Kerala’s KYR+. And security experts have expressed that these data hubs are vulnerable to attacks.

In the Aadhaar SC hearings, petitioners had expressed concern around SRDHs. The petitioners said that the aggregation of data on the SRDHs violated privacy by allowing religious, caste-based and community profiling of individuals, and moreover, the SRDHs lacked the authority of the law.

"During the course of the investigation, the search was conducted in the premises of IT Grids and seven hard disks and other digital evidence were seized from the scene of offence," said deputy director of Aadhar, T Bhavani Prasad, in the complaint letter.

According to a report in Telangana Today, the seized hard disks had fields such as, "UID_NUM, EID_NUM, CITIZEN_NAME, FATHER_HUSBAND_ GUARDIAN_ NAME, DOB_DT, VILLAGE NAME, MANDAL NAME, DISTRICT_ID, DISTRICT NAME, PIN CODE, VTC_CODE, VTC_NAME, CITIZEN_ PHONE NO, GENDER, STATECODE, STATENAME, CITIZEN_ NAME_ LOCAL, CAREOF_NAME_ Local."

The TSFSL expressed concerns that the data in the hard disk had large blocks pertaining to Aadhaar numbers in a set structural database. According to the police, the presence of the terms HID_NUM (field name) raised a strong suspicion that the data could have been obtained from the Central Identities Data Repository (CIDR) or from one of the SRDH aligned to CIDR. To put things in perspective, CIDR is the database that holds the demographic and biometric data of Aadhaar users. SRDH were state-level replicas of the CIDR pertaining to that state, for the "ability to manage resident data."

UIDAI officials claim that the core Aadhaar biometric data stored in the CIDR is never shared with anyone. It also repeated the oft-heard come-back, that the biometric data hasn't been affected.

The police suspect that IT Grids could have illegally obtained this Aadhaar data and misused it. The mere fact that this data was taken on a removable storage drive is in itself a violation of the Aadhaar Act according to the police.

There have been around 30 FIRs that have been filed by the UIDAI since the introduction of the Aadhaar Act 2016.

1999 was following the Kargil war and Coimbatore bomb blasts, DMK was punished for that in 98 and Amma had gone hammer and tongs against al-umma. BJP on its own won cbe. In 1999 Thatha found himself in the NDA fold to avoid Amma’s wrath. So it was a confusing choice to make at the time. That though didn’t prevent thatha and maran getting dragged out in their underwear in a political version of midnight masala!

2009 it was becoming clear the Captain (DMDK) was becoming a ADMK vote splitter and that was reflected in assembly elections as well.

Super depressing. Women unwilling to vote for Modi, though they agree Triple Talaq removal helped them. Men openly claiming that Pulwama was Modi’s inside job. Everyone agreeing that they will vote together to a single candidate. This is what a systematic lack of education and religious radicalism does to a community. I feel bad for the little kids standing around who will get indoctrinated at a young age.

Saw the interview... Typical Muslim narrative and that's hard to change. But then again it's not like non Muslims haven't lost faith in modi sarkar either. Seems to me like stalwarts Hindus criticize him for not doing enough, e.g. Ram Temple or article 375.
And Muslims are as usual.... Suspicious, blindly. At a more general level, lots of folks were unhappy about the demonetization issue in its execution or how the black money promises haven't materialized. Ditto with unemployment. And then the rush to build massive statues is not great for public perception either.

Bajwaji no offense intended. And no doubts on loyalties of Sikhs in India. However if we look at Canada the figure of 5% of Sikh population is not something which can be overlooked. At 10% odd it reaches a tipping point unless counted by an equally vocal counter narrative. At 10% it could mean that the whole narrative of the Sikh population in Canada is pro-K and given the influence of the community cause changes in policy.

Long read but maybe worth a look. - Minority Rules: Scientists Discover Tipping Point for the Spread of Ideas.
Scientists at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute have found that when just 10 percent of the population holds an unshakable belief, their belief will always be adopted by the majority of the society.

And now Viraat Swamytards are instructed by their SuSu to vote for TTV who allied his party with muslim communal organisation/s SDPI (& PFI) in TN supposedly for the sake of "national unity" :rotfl:

This gang is innocent and as pure as the driven snow. It is all the others who are wrong which explains the massive chip on their shoulders and the all pervading persecution complex that afflicts each and every one of them.

How is VVPAT record concerned with ballot secrecy?
The 1 Billion Indian voters vote via secret ballot & no one's vote can be identified via VVPAT.
And this election all of the 10 lakh polling booths in india will have VVPAT.

Anyone can make worthless deductions with even ordinary evm's(without VVPAT) when they are booth level tallied - but no one can identify who specifically voted for whom.
There is one muslim woman voter in India one for each muslim man voter and there are 70 million muslim women voters in India. There is no specific relevance for VVPATs here and their reference while hinting at lack of ballot secrecy supposedly because of VVPAT is totally unnecessary.

However despite this if Muslim ladies are threatened with triple talaq on suspicion of voting for Modi, the ordinance passed by Hindutva govt of NaMo now threatens the man with a three year imprisonment, every one knows it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GJdZ3c8UbTc

It is another matter entirely that the triple talaq ordinance will be repealed if a sikular mahagathbandhan comes to power and the law cannot be passed making the banning of TTT permanent (surmounting the congie opposition to it in rajyasabha) if Modi govt fails to comeback to power.

Karthik S wrote:Election has been cancelled at Vellore. So only 38 seats in TN now?
Quite a first:
Elections in Vellore cancelled
Accepting the recommendations of the Election Commission, President Ram Nath Kovind on Tuesday cancelled polling in Vellore, making it the first Lok Sabha seat to have had its elections countermanded over abuse of money power. Moreover, polling in East Tripura constituency has been deferred from April 18 to April 23, Tripura deputy CEO Suman Rakshit said.

Vellore was scheduled to go to polls with the rest of Tamil Nadu on April 18.

The development comes two days after the Election Commission recommended to the President that elections in Vellore be cancelled citing the suspected use of money power to influence voters after huge cash seizures from DMK leaders over the last two weeks.

Cash was seized from the premises of DMK veteran leader and party treasurer Duraimurugan’s son Kathir Anand’s house in Vellore on March 29.

Subsequently, on April 1, based on information that illegal cash was being moved from a college owned by the Duraimurugan family to a cement warehouse in Vellore, a second I-T search was launched and Rs 11.53 crore was seized.

While searches at Anand’s residence, who is the DMK’s candidate in Vellore Lok Sabha constituency, yielded seizures of around Rs 19 lakhs, official scrutiny later found that only Rs 10.50 lakh was the excess or the unaccounted cash.

In connection with the I-T seizures, on April 10, Tamil Nadu police filed an FIR against Anand, and two others, Poonjolai Srinivasan, the owner of the cement warehouse and Damodaran, for their alleged links to DMK and Duraimurugan family.

The total seizures of unaccounted cash, drugs, liquor, precious metal and freebies, purportedly meant to influence voters, stands at Rs 2,550 crore, of which the highest – Rs 499 crore – is from Tamil Nadu.

The EC, in 2017, had countermanded elections to the Dr Radhakrishnan Nagar Assembly seat in Tamil Nadu twice.

In April 2016, during the TN Assembly elections, the EC postponed polls in Aravakurichi and Thanjavur, after cash running into crores was recovered from sites belonging to persons close to the AIADMK. In 2012, elections to two Rajya Sabha seats in Jharkhand were scrapped for the same reason.

OT, but I have seen posters supporting bhindranwale in Delhi as well, as 'remember the martyrs' etc.

this propaganda has to be countered very strongly, especially by sikhs themselves before it poison's another generation. Most sikhs I know are very nationalistic and comfortable with hindus but there is a very strong strain of hubris running in their thought, which is also common to khalistani propaganda. almost as if ground is being prepared for the real poison.

Delhi: It seems BJP is waiting for all the Congi-Aappi dramas to play out before announcing any candidates.

A good call, since the candidate list is surely ready and campaign plans have likely been completed.

The opposition seems to be in a state of confusion, since both INC and AAP have already announced candidates for all seven seats in DL.

Its easy to develop a superiority complex and to appeal to it.. who does not like feeling superior to the unwashed plebs around all the time.. Who would not like to blame 'the other' for all the ills in ones own society. I would not be unnecessarily alarmed, but a sophisticated communication strategy needs to be put in place to talk about these things. Ultimately, Sikhs are our brothers in dharm and we simply cant turn our back on the future. There are plenty of mistakes on the states side and from among the Hindus society as well, not least the lack of justice for those who suffered in 84.

Mahabharata is a story of prostitution.

Lord Rama is a drunkard; Maa Sita is a prostitute...says Veeramani.

How DMK which deployed such a scum as it's star campaigner can be a secular party?

While the rest of Asia’s exports shrank in 1Q 2019, India’s continued to expand, growing 11%YoY in March 2019. Defying the slumping global electronics cycle, India’s electronics exports rose 34.6%YoY; engg goods 16.3%, chemicals 17%, Pharma 13.6%YoY. Modiji’s Make in India works
And supposedly, all this happened while unemployment was rising? Just goes to show how adverse narratives can be popularized by a compromised media while the underlying data actually points in the opposite direction.

Excellent! Thanks again to those here who did their duty to notify authorities.
I was actually happy with his presence. Might have led to a light-bulb moment in the minds of Hindus who still vote for Jihadidi despite all the evidence staring them in the face. That was my hope anyway. Muslims are anyway going to vote for her. Not sure what more Ferdous Khan was going to accomplish. My first thought on hearing it was that the Congress should counter didi by bringing in Fawad Khan to campaign for them. :P

VVPAT will show how many voted for Modi. The rest is the deduction of a paranoid bunch and it may not go too well for the muslim ladies.

It is another matter entirely that the triple talaq ordinance will be repealed if a sikular mahagathbandhan comes to power and the law cannot be passed making the banning of TTT permanent (surmounting the congie opposition to it in rajyasabha) if Modi govt fails to comeback to power.
before you go off the deep end, my limited point was not about triple talaq by the husbands.

These ladies need the protection against instant talaq and they are determined to get it and for that they need modi's help. He is the only one who can make it happen. If anyone else replaces modi in the bjp, compromises galore will take place, just like it did in NDA1 and UPA2.

with murli mahohar joshi, the great educationist in the opposition, how exactly did the RTE act and the consequent constitutional amendment get past such BJP/RSS stalwarts like him and LKA??

These helpless women will vote for modi if they can safely get away with it and not have to face the repercussions of beatings or worse by their beardo husbands.

there are very many ways that these desert religions and their communities can ostracise, isolate, excommunicate and otherwise make life miserable for these poor women.

Maybe, but I saw it far more important to swiftly assert that we are a nation driven by rule of law, and not by rule of patronage. This administrations efforts have been consistently to demonstrate delivery of goods and services directly to people, and that includes delivery of the rule of law.
