"Wow!! You are looking awesome in that traditional Pakistani dress," wrote a social media user in a sarcastic tweet. Taking the cue, another urged Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan to declare the suicide vest as his country's national dress.

In this case they know they would die when they pick gun. they live just for the cause to not get finished.
These kind of psychos running with guns is prolly one of reasons why Syrian army is willing to stand upto invasion from Turkey even after 10+ years of all out warfare; while some in India just go around making excuses for such.

World community cannot afford selective approaches in fight against terrorism : Jaishankar –PTI

HIGHLIGHTS

- Jaishankar said terrorism is the single biggest threat not only to international peace and security, but also to development

- He said the NAM member states must boost their collective efforts for cooperation among them to counter terrorism

BAKU: India on Wednesday described terrorism as the "single biggest threat" not only to international peace and security, but also to development and said the world community cannot afford selective approaches or double standards in its fight against this menace.

The growing linkages between terror groups and cross-border operations including terror financing networks, and the spread of hateful ideologies through modern communication technologies have left no country untouched by this scourge, external affairs minister S Jaishankar said, without naming any country. Comment : It is patent that that the acts of terrorism mentioned in this Article are addressed to TERRORISTAN

"No cause justifies the indiscriminate killing of innocents as a means of achieving a political goal," Jaishankar said while addressing the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Ministerial Meeting here.

He said terrorism is the single biggest threat not only to international peace and security, but also to development.

"Our collective actions must match our words. Our fight against terrorism has to be fought collectively and across all fronts. The international community cannot afford selective approaches or double standards on this issue," Jaishankar said.

He said the NAM member states must boost their collective efforts for cooperation among them to confront terrorism, including through exchange of information and best practices, preventing misuse of modern technologies, monitoring illicit financial flows and cooperating in investigation and judicial procedures.

India, which accuses Pakistan of providing safe havens to terrorist groups who carry out cross border terror attacks - proposed a Comprehensive Convention on International Terrorism (CCIT) in 1996 to further strengthen the existing legal frameworks.

"Two decades on, we have made little progress," Jaishankar said and urged the NAM member states to renew their commitment to finalise the CCIT, and to mobilise the international community towards this goal.

India, as a proud founding member, remains committed to the principles and objectives of the NAM, including its longstanding solidarity and support for the Palestinian cause, he said.

The NAM, which was formed in 1961 at the height of the Cold War as an independent forum of countries that were not formally aligned with or against any major power bloc, now has 120 member countries.

"The scales of global geo-political balance have shifted, and continue to do so, propelled by forces of globalisation and transformational technological progress. Long-held assumption and alignments rooted in the legacies of colonialism and the ideology of the Cold War are making way for new configurations and partnerships," the minister said.

"Climate change, environmental degradation, terrorism, radicalisation, poverty, public health emergencies, humanitarian and natural calamities, cyber security threats, and the serious security implications of frontier technologies are just some of the challenges of this new world," he said.

"These challenges can only be faced together, not when we are divided. It requires collaboration, not coercion. In short, effective multilateralism remains the only answer. And that requires all of us to be truly independent and think for ourselves," he added.

He said that multilateralism is undoubtedly under strain today and it was important that the NAM - that represents two thirds of the world's population - continues to work together and take the lead in building multilateral governance structures that are capable of meeting these challenges.

"We must reform and revitalise the current arrangements and working methods of our Movement, to allow us to pursue a positive and forward looking agenda. At the same time, we must guard against attempts to divide us and to misuse multilateral platforms to further narrow interests," he said.

"A democratic, effective, flexible, credible, transparent and representative, multilateral order - 'reformed multilateralism', if you will - is a 21st century imperative," he said.

Jaishankar also called for early and meaningful reform of the United Nations, and in particular its powerful security council.

"The only way to address these issues, which cut across borders, is to act together," he asserted.

The minister also invited NAM partners to join India in its initiatives such as the International Solar Alliance and the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.

Won't resign, Fazl's march has a 'specific agenda': PM Imran

ISLAMABAD: A defiant Prime Minister Imran said on Wednesday that he would not resign and that Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s ‘Azadi March’ had a specific agenda.

Talking to senior journalists and analysts, Prime Minister Imran said that his government would hold serious talks with the opposition.

The prime minister said that the JUI-F chief had a ‘specific agenda’ due to which he was carrying out the march. In his meeting, he categorically rejected the demand of the JUI-F and the Rahbar Committee regarding his resignation.

“I don’t understand what Maulana’s problem is,” he was quoted as saying in the meeting. “I don’t understand the agenda of the opposition.”

The prime minister said that at first, India was against ‘maulanas’ but now, they were celebrating at the idea of Fazl’s protest.

"Look at how the Indian media is celebrating Maulana Fazl's protest," he said.

Prime Minister Imran said that it was his wish to host the foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia in Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif's health serious, son alleges poisoning in jail
IANS/Islamabad, October 23, 2019
Sharif is currently in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail on corruption charges.
Former Pakistan prime minister Nawaz Sharif's condition continues to be serious and his son has alleged that his father is being poisoned in jail, Dawn newspaper reported.
Nawaz Sharif is currently lodged in Lahore's Kot Lakhpat Jail on corruption charges.
According to the news report, Hussain Nawaz, son of Nawaz Sharif, has alleged that reduction in platelets of his father might be the result of some kind of "poisoning". Tweeting from London, he said: "Thrombocytopenia as manifestation of poisoning. If anything happens to Nawaz Sharif -- you know who are responsible for this."
According to the medical tests carried out on Tuesday, Nawaz Sharif's platelet count had "dropped from 16,000 to a critical level of 2,000" when he was brought to hospital late on Monday night, prompting the medical board members to go for "immediate transfusion of the platelets to save his life", said one of the board members, reported Dawn news.
On Tuesday, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Sharif's brother, Shahbaz Sharif met him at the hospital. Shahbaz later tweeted: "I visited my brother Nawaz Sharif in hospital earlier today. I am gravely concerned and worried about his fast deteriorating health condition. The government must shun its apathy and attend to his serious health issues. I appeal to the nation to pray for Mian sahib."
During his interaction with reporters outside the hospital, the leader of the opposition in the National Assembly demanded an investigation into the delay in shifting Nawaz Sharif to hospital following drop in his platelets to the critical level.

Causes for low platelet count : Dengue, sepsis, exposure to toxic chemicals/radiation/chemotherapy. :D
Who knows they must have given his 'mijjiles' special polish with radioactive vaseline

So If NS dies in the Jail (or is almost dead), that would prove one thing. There is no such thing as Pak-Jabi honor and self respect.
Aam Abdul let its leader die like a dog in the jail and did nothing while a Qadiani and a Pathan collaborated to kill him.
Once NS and Zardari are out of the picture, There are no senior forces to keep PPP as well PML(N) together and these parties may fragment letting Terrorists Army run its agenda via Dimmy.

Pakistan, India sign historic Kartarpur Corridor agreement - Our Correspondent

LAHORE : Pakistan and India on Thursday signed the historic Kartarpur Corridor agreement, allowing Sikh pilgrims visa-free access to the religion’s holy site in Punjab’s Narowal district.

Signed by Director General South Asia and SAARC Dr Mohammad Faisal at the Kartarpur zero line, the corridor will be inaugurated by Prime Minister Imran Khan on November 9. He added that the prime minister had fulfilled his promise.

The Indian side was represented by its Joint Secretary for Home Affairs S. C. L. Das.

Salient features of the agreement

Indian pilgrims of all faiths and persons of Indian origin can use the corridor

The travel will be visa free

Pilgrims need to carry only a valid passport

Persons of Indian origin need to carry OCI card along with the passport of their country

The Corridor is open from dawn to dusk. Pilgrims travelling in the morning will have to return on the same day

The Corridor will be operational throughout the year, except on notified days, to be informed in advance

Pilgrims will have a choice to visit as individuals or in groups, and also to travel on foot

India will send the list of pilgrims to Pakistan 10 days ahead of travel date. Confirmation will be sent to pilgrims 4 days before the travel date

The Pakistan side has assured India to make sufficient provision for ‘Langar’ and distribution of ‘Prasad’

Talking to the media after the signing ceremony, Faisal elaborated that pilgrims will be facilitated seven days a week from dawn till dusk.

“Under the agreement, India will provide a list of pilgrims ten days before their visits so that they could be properly received,” adding that the first group will arrive at the pilgrimage site using the corridor on November 9.

The FO official confirmed that Islamabad will allow five thousand pilgrims daily and “and if there is more capacity we will accommodate them too”.

“Roads and a reception centre have been built in the area. A huge Gurdwara has been built, which is being described as the biggest in the world.”

The spokesperson further said that details of the agreement will soon be shared but added that the Sikh pilgrims will have to carry their passports and $20 fee will be charged from them.

The FO official also lauded his team’s efforts, saying negotiating with India were not easy because of the history the two countries share.

In response to a question, Dr Faisal reiterated that Pakistan’s position on occupied Kashmir has not changed.

Ex-Indian PM to attend Kartarpur opening as ‘common man’ instead of ‘chief guest’

The shrine is about four kilometres from the border. The crossing and corridor, including a road, bridge over the Ravi River and immigration office, will replace a drawn-out visa process and circuitous journey through Pakistan.

In a statement on Monday, India’s Ministry of External Affairs said New Delhi took initiatives to “put in place the state of art infrastructure” and open the corridor for Sikh pilgrims to visit Gurudwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Imran Khan announced the date for the inauguration.

The premier’s announcement came via a Facebook post in which he said that construction work on the Pakistani side had entered the final stage. “Pakistan is all set to open its doors for Sikhs from all across the globe,” he wrote.

“World’s largest Gurdwara will be visited by Sikhs from across India and other parts of the world,” he said.

PM Imran said the Kartarpur Corridor will be a major religious hub for the Sikh community. “[It] will boost the local economy [and] result in earning foreign exchange for the country creating jobs in different sectors including travel and hospitality.”

Request : Attn S Bajwa Ji & Keshdharis and all BRF Brethren : Please comment on the Full Article especially the highlighted points. - Many Thanks In Advance

Nawaz diagnosed with acute ITP, will recover in a week: doctor - Tufail Ahmed

Nawaz Sharif has been diagnosed with acute immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP), an autoimmune disease which leads to an abrupt and sharp drop in blood platelets, according to a medical board treating the incarcerated former prime minister.

“The blood disorder is easily treatable in Pakistan,” a doctor on the medical board treating the ailing politician told The Express Tribune.

“Nawaz Sharif has been put on IVIG,” he said, adding that Nawaz would recover in a week’s time.

IVIg, or Intravenous immunoglobulin, is a treatment that combines immunoglobulins donated by different people and is given by a drip.

“He does not have aplastic anaemia and his haemoglobin and WBC count (white blood cells) are normal. Platelets are low though,” said the doctor, who is well aware of the former premier’s treatment and health issues.

The doctor added that Nawaz’s bonemarrow is also functioning normally and is making blood as it should in addition to a normal level of reticulocytes.

What is immune thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP)

ITP is a disorder that can lead to excessive or easy bruising and bleeding from unusually low levels of platelets in the blood. Platelets help blood clot.

The disorder can cause purple bruises as well as tiny reddish-purple dots that look like a rash.

In adults, the disorder is usually long term while children can recover fully without treatment.

ITP may have no signs and symptoms and when they do occur, they may include:

Easy or excessive bruising

Superficial bleeding into the skin that appears as pinpoint-sized reddish-purple spots (petechiae) that look like a rash, usually on the lower legs

Bleeding from the gums or nose

Blood in urine or stools

Unusually heavy menstrual flow

The disorder usually occurs when an individual’s immune system mistakenly attacks and destroys platelets.

In adults, it may be triggered by infection with HIV, hepatitis or H. pylori – a bacteria that causes stomach ulcers.

Earlier today, Nawaz’s brother Shehbaz Sharif filed a petition in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking bail of Nawaz on medical grounds.

The PML-N supremo was taken to Services Hospital from NAB’s Lahore office late on the night of October 21 after a decline in his platelet count.

Nawaz received transfusions of mega units of platelets at the hospital the next day. The government officials, as well as his party leaders, had told the media that he was in a stable condition after he underwent the treatment.

However, his condition grew worse Wednesday evening after Nawaz’s platelets count again fell sharply to a life-threatening level of 7,000.

Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid also met the former premier at the hospital and claimed in a news conference that “Nawaz was satisfied with the treatment”.

Mush is a very very sick man, I saw him about a year ago at the cricket and he looked like he was suffering from something that has eaten him from the inside. Besides NS is alive, so far - Maryam has been granted parole to see him. Rest assured, if something does happen to him - the streets of Lahore will be choked by PML(N) supporters.

No. The Army/ISI want him to go abroad, in fact have been begging him but he wants to stay and fight. In the current situation all he has to do is stay put and wait for Imran to implode while the two major political parties give him a long rope to hang himself by. He has basically decided that he wants to stay on and win this battle or become a martyr, his political legacy is secure anyway with Mariam etc. He is no Mushy, and despite his many faults, does not seem to have the same exceptional streak of cowardice that runs in the Paki Army.

Kartarpur Corridor: Pakistan to earn $365,00,000 per annum from pilgrims
The service fee from the pilgrims will be another source of foreign currency generation for Pakistan, which is already reeling under severe financial crisis
5,000 pilgrims are allowed to visit the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur in Pakistan, which will be charging $20 service fee per pilgrim
this money will haunt us back. not sure why modi did it. we need to charge medical bills same way

Easy!

Bakis setup a trap for India that would have pitted the Sikhs against India on a very religious/sentimental issue. One did not even need to do any analysis. One just had to read the two statements made by the Baki FM Quershi on the subject, one when the proposal was initially floated and one a few days/weeks back. BTW, I did not go looking for those statements nor do I read bakis papers or twitter.

GOI/Modi sidestepped the trap by accepting the proposal and opening a new channel with Bakistan that is likely to be misused. That represents the real risk that GOI/Modi have accepted. While every dollar counts $36 million is chump change for India/Bakistan in the larger scheme of things.

I am yet to find a sound answer why we are agreeing to this corridor. Not only the money, but with khalistani issue, we'll have security implications as well.

the pressure is coming from the khalistanis, congis and the sikh voters all of whom will never vote for the BJP.

we have walked into a well laid trap that will become a perpetual cash cow for the pakis and fund the paki army directly.

we need to recover by jacking up the visa fees for the pakis as well as reducing the visa validity to a fraction of what it is now.

if this is their definition of "people to people" contacts, then we need to follow their definition even more strictly by meticulously crossing all the "T"s and dotting all the "I"s and making our visa provisions all the more stringent for all pakis.

The one advantage is that it means Sikh religious places are in Pakjab, so actual Khalistan should come there and those who eat anything other than Jatka meet are actually "Defiling" the place and leave the place, in times of conflict such excuses are useful to enforce.
