It is not possible for a Hindu, Sikh, Christian or Jew to become a Pakistani ambassador to Sri Lanka or the US. Specially the US, where a good deal of military aid and other aids were funneled into Pakistan and it is important to be loyal to the fauj. Yes, there have been some exceptions to this. At one time there was a Hindu Chief Justice. But that was the exception that proved the rule. I would refer you to an article by Derek O'Brien, MP. After 1947, a branch of his family stayed over in Pakistan. When Mr. O'Brien's brother visited this side of the family, he was surprised to find that they had mostly embraced Islam. Apparently they converted because this was the only way to progress in Pakistan. Higher paid and influential jobs jobs are open only to Muslims (uizderek.blogspot.com/2012/08/the-obriens-of-india-and-pakistan_13.html, and http://www.indiatoday.in/magazine/cover ... 2012-08-11). Wikipedia states that while he was a student in Karachi, Mr. Haqqani joined Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba, the student wing of the Jamaat-e-Islami. In my opinion this makes him a Muslim, though he may not be one now.

1. Derek O'Brein's Uncle was Air Vice Marshall Michael John O'Brien enlisted in Royal Indian Air Force. Being a Punjabi Christian from Lahore - his family opted for Pakistan - and he joined the PakistanAir Force.

I have read about him here on - possibly - the History Section of this Forum.

2. Mr. Haqqani is a Shia Muslim.

"Embraced"? More like capitulated to..
Please Sirji do not judge him. Mr. O'Brien has Hindu ancestors who embraced Christianity and he has Irish ancestors who also embraced Christianity. And Mr. O'Brien himself? Why he embraced Didi! His family has a history of embracing the truth wherever they find it.

We shall formulate an industrial plan in line with the development of Pakistan’s national conditions. We also need to seriously consider, carefully manage and cultivate the layout of the whole industrial chain. Only in this way can we really cultivate the manufacturing sector in Pakistan. It is necessary to consider the training of talents in relevant industries, from technical skills to management, organisation and arrangement, and to study what talents will be needed in these industrial chains in the future. Talents must be trained in a targeted, fixed and quantitative manner. In the early stages of talent training, Pakistan can consider seeking help from China and Germany. In the later stage, we can consider the joint training by government, schools and enterprises so that talents can quickly enter the working force, get the stage to display their talents and create more than expected value.

Why Afghanistan is Pakistan’s principal enemy - Adam Garrie
It may seem counter-intuitive to claim that a perennially failed state with illogical borders, an ethno-demographic ticking time bomb for a population, and a traditionally ungovernable periphery is the primary enemy of a nuclear-armed and exponentially militarily superior neighbouring state. But in the case of the failed state of Afghanistan’s relationship with nuclear Pakistan, this is the reality.

She is pretty much summing up the Chinese approach to nation building (which on many levels is quite admirable). The key deal breaker for materialization of all that mental masturbation, that she neglects to realize or list, is that in China the CPC (civilians) are supreme and the PLA is it's subsidiary, whereas the Pak Army has Pakistan as it's own country and that is the root of their economic problems.
From her language, Pakistan is already a province of China.
After watching a lot of Paki TV analysts (mostly for entertainment) I can sum up the difference of perception in the way Pakis view China/CPEC etc and the way that the Chinese view Pakistan as:

Pakis view themselves as a 'ghar jamai' damaad (son in law living off his wife's family's means and in their home) with delusions of how dependent the Chinese are on them and how key their role is in maintaining the H&D of China.

Chinese OTOH view them (sorry for the crude language) as the inmate of a low-grade brothel where the rent is already paid up by them in advance and all that remains is to maximize their benefits with little emotional regard or concern for the welfare of the former.

Pakistan slaps terror financing cases against Hafiz Saeed, front entities - Indrani Bagchi & Omer Farooq Khan – TNN

NEW DELHI: With the sword of the Financial Action Task Force hanging over it and IMF bailout negotiations at a crucial point, Pakistan on Wednesday slapped terror financing cases against Lashkar-e-Taiba chief Hafiz Saeed and several of his aides.

A spokesperson of Pakistan’s Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) said cases have been registered against them in Lahore, Gujranwala and Multan for collecting funds for terrorism through assets/properties held as trusts and non-profit organizations (NPOs).

“On July 1 and 2, Punjab CTD registered 23 cases against the leadership of Jamaat-ud-Dawa (JuD), Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and Falah-e-Insaniyat Foundation (FIF) for making assets from terrorism financing through trusts/NPOs, including Dawat-ul-Irshad Trust, Muaz-BinJabal Trust, Al-Anfaal Trust, Al-Hamd Trust and Al-Madina Foundation Trust,” the spokesperson said in a statement.

Large scale investigations into the assets and properties owned by JuD, LeT and FIF, according to CTD, revealed that they had made these assets from funds of terrorism financing and later used these assets to raise more funds for further terrorism financing.

“Hence, they committed multiple offences of terrorism financing and money laundering under the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997. They will be prosecuted in anti-terrorism courts for the commission of these offences. These assets/NPOs have already been taken over by the government in compliance with the UN’s sanctions,” the CTD spokesperson said.

The JuD and LeT leaders who have been booked, include Hafiz Saeed, Abdul Rehman Makki, Malik Zafar Iqbal, Ameer Hamza, Muhammad Yahya Aziz, Muhammad Naeem, Mohsin Bilal, Abdul Raqeeb, Dr Ahmad Daud, Dr Muhammad Ayub, Abdullah Ubaid, Muhammad Ali, Abdul Ghaffar and others.

The cases came as a consequence of the most recent crackdown against terror outfits. The crackdown itself happened after the unusually tough language used by FATF against Pakistan at the recent Orlando plenary. The global body asked Pakistan to implement all 27 points of its action plan by October, failing which it would take further action, even blacklisting Pakistan.

The FATF had flagged four key areas where Pakistan had taken no action. Pakistan was criticised for not starting terror financing investigations against UN-designated terrorist leaders. The current action is being seen in that light. FATF also asked Pakistan to immediately freeze weapons stores, ammunition dumps etc; implement sanctions against UN listed terror entities and not give exemptions to terrorist leaders.

Earlier this year, Pakistan had banned the JuD and its welfare wing, FIF, the two organisations headed by Saeed. Since then, the government has clamped down on JuD’s facilities and sealed its seminaries, besides taking administrative control of its pharmacies, health units, schools and ambulances across the country

^^^^ Great link Peregrineji! This guys is a known charlatan!!

Anyway, when I read the first few paragraphs of his article I felt that he was describing our relationship with Pakistan, and not Pakistan's relationship with Afghanistan. Here, I corrected 2 paras from his article - my changes are bolded, and reflect the truth even better than the original.

It may seem counter-intuitive to claim that a perennially failed state with illogical borders, an ethno-demographic ticking time bomb for a population, and a traditionally ungovernable periphery is the primary enemy of a nuclear-armed and exponentially militarily superior neighbouring state. But in the case of the failed state of Pakistan's relationship with nuclear India, this is the reality.
...
But unlike India, Pakistan is a country with little to live for. Its economy is non-existent, its biggest export is violence and its biggest import is foreign war. Such a desperate country whose fledgling leadership continues to fan the flames of regional separatism and Islamicsupremacist ideologies is dangerous even though it is weak. One could go further and say that Pakistan is dangerous because it is weak.

I think Bajwa is being too clever by half.

He floated the balloon in Londonistan that "Pakistan is more naturally inclined to west than China"

Unkil is a sucker for punishment. Even when Pakis do their usual perfidy on Unkil, Unkil gives them more money, speaks highly of them in various think tanks. The worst they have done is benignly ignore Pakis.

Cheen on the other hand has a long memory and an outrage/insecurity complex which makes them quite vengeful. If Pakis try to pull on cheen 1/10th of what they pulled on Unkil, Cheen is going to crash on them with all of the fires of Jahannum.

Kiwis like India should be ashamed of bringing this great game into disrepute.
They lost the match voluntarily to keep Pakistan out lest 1992 Semifinal played out again.
If Pakis could defeat Eng, Any team could but Noooo, India and Kiwis decided to throw away the match.
How do Pakistanis know this ? Because Pak has been doing it since 1980's to throw away the match.
India gave extra 2 points to Eng while Kiwis gave then extra net run rate.

This is a conspiracy against great Pakistani team.
In all this, Pakistani team has been a true winner despite losing to Windies, India and Australia. so fair play demands that ICC invites Pakistan to play the finals as a special gesture while world must reimburse 100 Bn dollars for all the services Pakistan has provided.

Can't send Army into Pak, Already would have lost money and face in Pakistan, No Ola hu Uber bonds while Pakis would have moved onto a new Sugar Daddy.
I think Pakis have more leverage over China than other way around.

Hafiz Saeed to be arrested 'very soon': Pak police
July 04, 2019 16:05 IST
Mumbai attacks mastermind and Jamat-ud-Dawah chief Hafiz Saeed and 12 of his close aides will be arrested "very soon", police said on Thursday, a day after Pakistani authorities booked them for committing multiple offences of terrorism financing and money laundering.
The Counter Terrorism Department of Punjab Police on Wednesday registered 23 FIRs against 13 leaders of JuD including Saeed on the charges of terror financing in different cities of Punjab province.
"The CTD has booked the (13) leaders of JuD and other proscribed organisations on the charges of terror financing. As the FIRs have been registered the suspects will be arrested shortly," Punjab police spokesperson Niyab Haider Naqvi told PTI.
When asked as why the CTD has not yet arrested Saeed and others despite their nomination in the FIRs, Naqvi said: "In first, the FIR is registered against a suspect and then he is arrested. Saeed and others nominated in the FIRs will also be arrested subsequently."

'Cosmetic steps': India dismisses Pakistan's action against Hafiz Saeed

NEW DELHI: India on Thursday slammed Pakistan's crack down on Mumbai attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed and his close aides, calling it "cosmetic steps" and half-hearted measures undertaken to hoodwink the international community.

Addressing a press conference, ministry of external affairs spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said that Pakistan's sincerity to take action against terrorists and terror groups will be judged on the basis of their ability to demonstrate verifiable, credible and irreversible action against terror groups operating from their soil and not on the basis of half-hearted measures which they undertake sometimes to hoodwink the international community.

MEA's response came amid reports that Saeed and 12 of his close aides were booked by Pakistani authorities yesterday for committing multiple offences of terrorism financing and money laundering.

The Imran Khan government is under pressure as it appears keen to fulfill its obligations on terror financing under the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).

Pakistan failed to complete its action plan on Pakistan has time till October to pass terror test terror financing on the FATF's deadline in June last. The FATF warned Islamabad to meet its commitment by another deadline of October or face action, which could possibly lead to the country's blacklisting.

The Paris-based global body is working to curb terrorism financing and money laundering and has asked Pakistan toreassess the operation of banned terroristoutfits in the country. In June last year, theFATF placed Pakistan on the grey list of countries whose domestic laws are considered weak to tackle the challenges of money laundering and terrorism financing.

When asked about 1992 Mumbai blast accused Dawood Ibrahim, Raveesh Kumar told reporters, "The location of Dawood Ibrahim is not a secret. Time and again, we have been presenting to Pakistan a list of people who are in their country. We've asked repeatedly that he should be handed over. His imprint on the Mumbai blast is very clear for all of us to see."

"You (Pakistan) claim that you've taken action but when it comes to taking action against people who we have demanded, you go into denial mode. On the other hand, you try to project to the international community that you are taking some action against terrorists operating from your soil, " he added.

The MEA said that it is a case of "double standards". "This is something where they stand completely exposed as far as their claims of taking action against terror groups in Pakistan is concerned, " the spokesperson said.

Asked about the Kartarpur Corridor meeting between the two sides, the MEA said, "We had proposed a set of dates, Pakistan agreed they'll come for dialogue on July 14 . There are certain differences, we'll discuss those issues. It's important to emphasize that it's a matter of sentiment and of fulfilling wishes of the Sikh community."

Pakistan should stage it's own Cricket World Cup with China under the CPEC 'mansooba'. China is the emerging superpower and that, along with Pakistan's strategic location and josh and jazba will result in massive investment in the tournament.

This guy and his Russian mafia gang is used by the bakis to effectively expolite the "Gora's word" in many Bali articles like dawn.,etc. Unsuspecting Indians go on the backfoot seeing "Girra's word" and think oh it must be true. The same with baki Abdul's.
