Minister Haleem says not a single Tawheed Mosque approved
http://island.lk/index.php?page_cat=art ... tle=203542

By Ifham Nizam

Muslim Religious Affairs and Posts Minister Abdul Haleem, yesterday, stressed that he had not permitted the setting up of a single mosque of National Tawheed Jamath (NTJ).

"These people are known to create problems like All Ceylon Jamath (ACJ) and Sri Lanka Tawheed Jamath (SLTJ)," he added.

He also said that some even had gone to courts against him. However, NTJ was not keen to come out and conducted its activities at homes close to mosques.

Minister Haleem said his ministry hadn’t registered a single mosque with seven to eight members. In the Kandy district, there are 94 mosques which were registered on the request of the people in the year 2015.

None of the NTJ mosques were among those 94 mosques.

He said that it was a basic requirement to have a minimum of 40 people for a Mosque to conduct Friday (Jumma) prayers.

Haleem maintained that it took more than six months to register a mosque.

Saudi Arabia advises citizens to leave Sri Lanka

Saudi Arabia has advised its citizens in Sri Lanka to leave the country in the wake of a deadly series of explosions that killed more than 250 people earlier this month, the Anadolu Agency reported.

A brief statement by the Saudi Embassy in Colombo came after US ambassador to Sri Lanka said the militants might be at large and planning more assaults.

They are probably more scared of their citizens getting arrested for involvement in the blasts than the blasts themselves.

Isn't that a nonsense Strawman Argument to create conflict? India did not kill those people: the terrorists did. No one (except you) said "serves them right" and dismissed the crime. I see nothing wrong with deriving the lesson that it was wrong of the SL leaders to not take the Indian warning seriously - while finally going after the Islamist terrorists and dismantling their nests. Had THAT been done months ago, those innocent people would be alive today. And sneering at India..

In fact culpability in law may extend to those who are aware of an impending crime and do nothing about it. The SLs were happy with their genocidal war on Tamils, two timing the IPKF, maybe they had a deeper reason to do nothing than incompetence.

Pulasthini Rajendran aka Sarah is believed to be the wife of the suspect who launched the suicide attack on St Sebastian church. She was found dead amongst the 15 killed after explosions were triggered during a police raid at a house in Saithamaruthu on 26 April 2019.
Love Jihad behind Sri Lanka Easter bombings? Mother of suicide bomber makes shocking revelations

Image
With every passing day, new details regarding the Easter Sunday bombings in Sri Lanka are emerging. Now it is being alleged that one of the suicide bombers behind the attacks was perhaps trapped and radicalised using a method which we in India call as the “Love Jihad”

Few days back, the Sri Lankan authorities released names and pictures of several suspected suicide bombers who were behind the blasts. This included both male and female names. One of them was one Pulasthini Mahendran alias Sara.

Now in an investigation carried out by IBC Tamizh, the mother of the suspected suicide bomber Pulasthini Mahendran, Kavitha Mahendran has come out to make several shocking claims about her daughter being honey trapped and radicalised. According to Kavitha, who is a Tamil Hindu of Sri Lanka, her daughter Pulasthini was a very good student who was perusing medical studies.

Kavitha in the investigation video by IBC Tamizh alleges that during her studies Pulasthini got abducted by a man named Abdul Razik. Kavitha says that she made numerous attempts to get her daughter back and made appeals to Razik. However he denied to hand the daughter back saying that she is happy with him and is an adult to make her life decisions.

Some time later, Razik called Kavitha Mahendran to inform her that Pulasthini has embraced Islam and has been married off to one Muslim man. This disheartened Kavitha Mahendran and she decided to leave the country for sometime. Before leaving she had called Razik and said she no longer considers Pulasthini as her daughter, and that he will be held responsible for whatever happens with her.

Almost a month after this, Kavitha says she received a call from her daughter who was heavily crying. Pulasthini told her mother that she is not happy with the person she has been married off to. Pulasthini over the phone said that her husband has extramarital relations. But since this phone call, Kavitha never heard from her daughter again.

Kavitha says that around two weeks before the Easter Sunday blasts, one unknown man came at her place looking for Pulasthini. When she inquired about the identity of the man, he introduced himself as a Sri Lankan intelligence official but said nothing more.

The man named by Kavitha Mahendran, Abdul Razik is reportedly a leader of the radical Islamic organisation, Sri Lankan Thowheed Jamaath (SLTJ). The SLTJ till now has denied any involvement with bombings while its namesake National Thowheed Jamaath has claimed the responsibility. The man Razik is also But with the newly emerged details, it seems difficult to give a clean-chit to SLTJ just yet.

https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/news/defence/sri-lanka-blasts-rajapaksas-close-aide-allegedly-trying-to-hinder-probe/articleshow/69155353.cms

A former head of Sri Lanka’s military intelligence and close aide of the Rajapaksa family is allegedly trying to hinder probes by various countries into the deaths of their citizens in the recent terror attacks at China’s behest. Major General (Retd) Kapila Hendawitharana, who headed military intelligence during the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime and is the current head of security for the Shangri-La Hotels in Sri Lanka, is said to be obstructing the investigations into the Easter bombings, ET has learnt. According to audio tapes heard by ET, Hendawitharana is allegedly conniving with Chinese security agencies to sabotage the probes. China fears the investigations would allow many countries to expand their presence in the island nation and adversely affect Chinese interests there. Sri Lanka, while absent from the second edition of the BRI summit, is a key pillar in Beijing’s strategic interests in the Indian Ocean region, building infrastructure including the Hamabantota port. Following the April 21 suicide attacks and bombings, including at the Shangri-La in Colombo, countries including the US sent their probe agencies to Sri Lanka to assist local investigators. US teams visited the Shangri-La, where a number of its citizens were killed, ET has learnt. Hendawitharana allegedly urged Chinese officials to use diplomatic means as a “deterrent action” to sabotage cooperation between the Sri Lankan and foreign investigating agencies as the increased presence of foreign powers would be detrimental to Chinese interests in the island nation. Hendawitharana is heard telling the Chinese officials that foreign powers might even get access to Sri Lanka’s airports and ports as part of their efforts to assist local security agencies. China has allegedly helped the ex-spymaster’s family members in getting education abroad, ET has learnt. Hendawitharana was dismissed by army commander Sarath Fonseka as an unqualified “logistics man” but was promoted to Major General by Gotabaya Rajapaksa, the defence secretary under Mahinda Rajapaksa in 2006. He was brought back as chief of National Intelligence and given broad oversight over all Lanka’s intelligence agencies.

Its a Paki trick. Recall Isharat Jahan was induced into Islamic terrorism.
Real culprit is Modernism that fails to see how religious terrorism by a cult stuck in 7th century Arabia is perverting secular ideas.

Extremists planning attacks on bridges in Colombo: police

Islamist extremists in Sri Lanka are believed to be planning attacks on bridges in Colombo, the authorities said, as they warned that several conspirators in the Easter Sunday bombings which killed 257 people were still at large.

Police confirmed they had instructed stations around Colombo to deploy additional officers and asked the navy to deploy more vessels on rivers, following leaks of police intelligence reports warning that bridges into the capital were at risk of attack.

Sri Lanka's military has also set up a special command centre to coordinate anti-Islamist operations, while the army said more troops have been deployed for search operations.

Controversy surrounds the government’s failure to thwart coordinated attacks in spite of receiving specific intelligence from India on April 04, 2019.

Highly placed security sources told The Island on Thursday (May 02) that even before Indian warning authorities here knew of the planned imminent operation thanks to local sources.

The Colombo Telegraph reports:
Exclusive: Gota’s Intelligence Czar Caught Red Handed As Chinese Mole
https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index. ... ssion=true

But Colombo Telegraph can exclusively reveal that Hendawitharana, Gotabaya Rajapaksa’s right-hand man in the Defence Ministry, is an agent of the Chinese Intelligence. We can today reveal audio recordings of Hendawitharana, who is also the security head of Shangri-La, telling a Chinese Intelligence Officer to use diplomatic means as a “deterrent action” to sabotage the relationship between the US and Sri Lanka.

Hendawitharana is privy to American involvement in Sri Lanka’s new war against terror because of his role in security at Shangri-La, but his concern is not for his employer, in whose hotel so many innocents died, but instead for his handlers in Chinese Intelligence and his political contacts in the Joint Opposition.

In the audio recording, available exclusively below, Hendawitharana tells his Chinese handler to “appraise your diplomatic channels to work on the US-Sri Lanka relationship.”

‘Easter bombers visited Kashmir for training’: Sri Lanka army chief

For the record, Indian intelligence alerted Sri Lankan police and security agencies on April 4, 10, 16 (the day the device was tested in a motorcycle), 20 and two hours before the multiple suicide bombings on April 21, the last with the names of three churches under imminent bombing threat.

The chief of Sri Lanka’s army said some of the people who carried out the April 21 serial bombings in his country had travelled to regions such as Kashmir and Kerala in India to possibly be part of terrorism training activities, according to an interview with the BBC published online on Friday.

The comments by Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayke is the first confirmation by a senior security official in either of the countries of the terrorists having travelled to India, a link that Indian security agencies have been pursuing since shortly after the attacks in the island nation.

“They had gone to India, travelling to Bangalore, Kashmir and Kerala state, (according to) information available with us,” Senanayke said.

Asked if he was aware of the purpose of those visits, the army commander replied: “It would have been for some sort of a training or to establish links with other organisations outside the country”.

Counter-terror agencies such as the National Investigation Agency have carried out raids in parts of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, where they have picked up several people for suspected links to the Islamic State – the Syria-based terror group that claimed responsibility for the attack.

According to Indian officials who have not to be named, at least two of the suicide bombers had travelled to India in 2017.

A Union home ministry official did not comment on the Sri Lanka Army chief’s comment. “Sri Lanka hasn’t shared any such information with us. Importantly, Sri Lankan security agencies themselves have ruled this out after investigation,” a senior official in the security establishment, who did not wanted to named, said. Till now, Indian investigators have not mentioned a Kashmir link to the Lankan bombers, though leads were still being followed.

One of the key suspects who is believed by Indian officials to have visited India is Islamic preacher Maulvi Zahran Bin Hashim – leader of Sri Lanka National Towheed Jama’at (NTJ) and the ringleader of Easter Sunday attackers.

Indian officials refused to share details about the purpose of Hashim’s visit or the people he was in touch with. Hashim, an official said, was initially associated with Tamil Nadu Towheed Jama’at (TNTJ) but the organisation was not found involved in any terror activities. He subsequently broke away from TNTJ to form his own – Sri Lanka National Towheed Jama’at (NTJ) and started preaching violent form of Islam in the island nation.

Arrival of FETO terrorists - SL disregarded Turkish warnings: GL
mid reports of the government's failure to act on specific intelligence on Easter Sunday’s bomb attacks, information has now surfaced that the defence authorities had also ignored Turkish government alerts that 50 members of the Fethullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) had arrived in Sri Lanka.

Later, FETO terrorists fled to different countries. The Turkish embassy has repeatedly informed the Sri Lankan government about this matter.

Editorial
http://island.lk/index.php?page_cat=new ... e_title=60
TNA MP M. A. Sumanthiran has, reportedly, attributed the Easter Sunday terror strikes to Sri Lanka’s failure to solve problems the minorities are faced with. He has drawn a great deal of flak for saying that. The general consensus is that the ethnic minorities have grievances, in this country, and they need to be redressed. But by no stretch of the imagination can they be thought to have motivated the National Thowheed Jamath (NTJ) to unleash mindless terror. If terrorists who kill innocent men, women and children are driven by anything, it is their thirst for blood.

In a video, secured by the media, the NTJ bombers, on the eve of the savage attacks, rant and rave against Christians, who as a community are not responsible for the grievances of the Muslims or ethnic violence, we have witnessed during the last several decades. The Muslims have come under attack by some extremists in the majority community, whose leaders have headed governments responsible for creating the problems that trouble the minorities as well as others. But, it is at the hands of the LTTE that the Muslims suffered most.

It may be recalled that the LTTE massacred 147 Muslims, praying in a mosque at Kattankudi, in 1990. The following year, 107 Muslims perished in an LTTE attack on the Palliyagodella mosque. There were many other LTTE attacks on the Muslims in the North and the East. Prabhakaran drove about 100,000 Muslims out of the North, in 1990, as part of his ethnic cleansing campaign. They were given only a few hours to leave the areas, where they had lived for generations. The LTTE plundered all their wealth and allowed them to carry only a few clothes each. The TNA fully backed the LTTE and recognised the outfit as the sole representative of the Tamil people in spite of its mindless terror.

So, those who argue that the grievances of the Muslim community caused the NTJ to carry out suicide attacks on 21 April, should explain why it targeted churches, of all places. The fact that the Sri Lankan Muslims’ grievances had nothing to do with the NTJ attacks became evident when the ISIS claimed the responsibility for the Easter bombings. The NTJ has a much broader agenda and the same goal as the ISIS—the creation of a caliphate in Iraq, Syria and beyond.

^^^ Most of the current Sri Lanka statements by politicians are blatant propaganda, as they seek to point fingers at each other and reap a favorable harvest for themselves using Easter Sunday's tragedy. Here we see Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) Chairman G.L. Peiris as Turkey's instrument to put pressure on Sri Lanka. Something to keep in mind.

PS: not to go off-topic but Fethullah Gulen is also a dangerous Islamist - of the kind like the Pope of the Catholic Church, who wants to harvest souls, yet has the reputation of being "good", "tolerant", "respectful of other faiths", etc.. Or like most Sufi orders. That they don't blow themselves up along with others just means they are more insidious, far more patient, and working with a long term strategy.

Sri Lanka has arrested suicide bombers' parents, spouses, siblings and children (if any). In daily shootouts, cops are killing suspected militants. Latest shootout leaves 15 dead, including 6 children. But in Sri Lanka, few will ask for inquiries or label them "staged encounters"

Sri Lankan police on Sunday discovered a 10-acre camp in the eastern town of Kattankudy, where Islamist militants linked to the deadly Easter attacks are believed to have practiced shooting and bombmaking.

The narrow, sandy plot is dotted with a cinderblock four-storey watchtower, as well as mango trees, a chicken coop and a goat shed.

Ameer Ali writes in the Colombo Telegraph in Part 1 of a 2-part article:
Anatomy Of An Islamist Infamy – I
https://www.colombotelegraph.com/index. ... -infamy-i/
Sri Lankan masses, Sinhalese, Tamils, Muslims or Burghers, are not to be blamed for this tragic history and they should be kept out of the equation. Instead, the political and religious leadership must bear full responsibility for laying the path of democracy with bloody bricks.

The Easter mayhem, is now becoming increasingly clear, as the result of a combined failure of a Muslim leadership which was in a state of denial for decades and a government in a state of paralysis. The first part of this analysis will deal with the Muslim variable.

Worth a read.

the uk is not alone in this.

with the increased cheeni presense on the island many countries are eager to establish units and offices to "analyze intelligence reports" and of course "help" the SLs.

the hans are reportedly very unhappy with such proposals being considered by the SLs
