Prashant Kishore is over rated in my not so humble opinion.
He was among the man analytical people helping BJP in 2014 and that got ot his head.
BJP win in 2014 was inevitable based on the rising anger against UPA corruption.
The anger was so strong that it gave India's first majority government since 1996.

PK thought the victory was due to his manipulating some spreadsheet.
Our MuraliRavi did equal to that and closely predicted the outcome in our Modinama thread.
And he demanded RS seat for this work.

Failing to get that he switched to Nitish Kumar.
The BJP in Bihar held its voteshare. Where they lost was the solid front put together by Nitish and Lalu.
Where is that front now? Nitish is in NDA and Lalu in jail.

In AP the anger against Naidu was palpable and propelled Jagan to bumper majority.
How much was it due to PK? Don't know.

PK's task in Bengal is to bolster Jihadidi image.
Its so bad that it can only improve.
But to improve she has to cast of her Jihadidi appeasement and become saffron.
Then she will lose her minority votebank and not gain any Hindu votes as they know its situational.

The election results map shows Jihadidi is confined to Greater Kolkata.
She is now a Bong Shah Alam II.

Interesting that she is paying 500 crores to PK and 300 if she wins!!!!

ALso Jagan win had very little to do with PK. See vote share. Naidu lost only 1%. What happened is that BJP/Modi vote of 7-8% entirely transferred to Jagan. Naidu is not an astute politician. He thought BJP/Modi vote was all due to him. But I am hearing AP, BH, OR will get special status as BJP would like to grow there.

[Quote/ ]me thinks that both nitishwa and kishore should be shown their due place by AS. having an ancient toothless pussycat like sushil modi is not going to solve any issue in BH for the BJP[/quote]
Completely true. Nitishwa has shown time and again that he is the most ingrate, vicious, vengeful and unreliable person. It's unfathomable that BJP propped him up at the state level despite getting stabbed in the back by him, allowed him to ride Modi wave and get a solid block of 16MPs, and now this snub in state ministry expansion. His cronies were giving statements on TV even before 23rd that JDU won't support removal of article 35A, 370 and bringing UCC. It's distinctly possible that he was hoping to cash in his booty of 16MPs in case NDA was even little short of majority.
I hope that AS will straighten him up before state polls and cultivates strong leadership in Bihar simultaneously.

Bihar is complex.
Nitish has a vote base that has historical takleef.
Once they get prosperous and realize nobody is out to get them, it will be different.
Shotgun type netas scare them.

It's strange how media ignoring violence in bengal last night. may be they are waiting for amit shah to do to something and then do hit job on him. shame on them. all the blood going to be on their hands if they are active part in the whole scheme of things.

Home Minister Amit Shah cracks whip, summons ground report on Bengal violence
Saturday evening's massive clash between BJP and the TMC that resulted in at least four deaths has now forced the union home ministry to take cognizance. Home Minister Amit Shah has sought a report from the Bengal authorities on the violence in Basirhat Lok Sabha constituency, 65 km away from Kolkata.

BJP general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya told news agency ANI, "Union Home Minister has asked for a report from the state government and I am sure Centre will take this up seriously. There is a lot of anger among the people over the incident".

The violence evidently broke out over hoisting the BJP party flag. Bullets were fired, and sharp weapons were used in this small town of Sandeshkhali.
much more violence going on there than what is reported in the news.

PK did help Jagan consolidate youth voters by Social media campaign. If BJP gives special status they will loose credibility as all the leaders from BJP says it is not possible as AP does not meet the criteria. It is better to consolidate Hindu voters and get going in AP as cm and HM of Ap are Christians and already Hindus are feeling suffocated. Main problem is if Hindus raise there voice they are getting slapped with sc/st atrocity act by converted Christians. There is lot of latent anger and people are waiting for right party. Unfortunately local BJP is still thinking CBN is the number one enemy. TDP party cadre are disgruntled by CBN antics and It is right time for BJP to raise in andhra.

PK or anyone else for that matter can sell if there is at least a reasonable product. It not we know what happened to the "UP ke ladake" in UP elections wherein PK advised INC+SP gang. The problem is the same with Jihadidi.

The only issue I see is the 27%+ Muslim vote. If we can map the MLA seats and see how this vote bank is situated then we can make a clear prediction of 2021 even today. From what I hear the Hindu consolidation is neat complete in most of the WB.

For the moment, nothing much is required except to remind Nitishwa that lack of support in Sansad could lead to BJP withdrawal from the Bihar government and early elections. Nothing much to be lost for BJP, but Nitishwa will lose a lot. With Modi Sarkar 3.0 being the default outcome in 2024 for all but the most dull of intellect, a number of JDU MPs will switch to BJP. The fate of Manjhi, Kushwaha, Lalu, Atmaghan and their likes, versus prospering of the Paswans, makes clear which side the bread is buttered.

If a fair election were to be held, BJP would win without doubt.
However Jihadidi is using her office to unleash violence thorough her minions.
Already many killings have happened in Bengal.

Snippet of social gossip in NOIDA

One domestic worker of WB origin, known as a hard core left supporter, went home to vote. On return, he admitted to have voted BJP. When asked why he voted saffron instead of red he said:

“their excesses have crossed all limits. They need to be made ‘tight’. Only BJP can do that job”.

Now it is up to the Rakshaks to decide who the quoted ‘they’ is.

It hadn't hit me that Amit Shah is Ghar Mantri. Hmmm! Last time such a person was in that post was Sardar VB Patel, IIRC and look what happened to Nizam, Junagadh Emperor, etc. :(( :((
Can Centre just send Polis to, say, WB and take over control of State Polis? I see such things on Mayberry TV show from USA shown in Mongolia, where FBI comes in, and State/ local Polis have to work under their command.
Or, what grounds for dismissing state ministry? President has to sign off on that, hain?
Anyway, heat must be building under WB CM throne.

West Bengal: BJP, RSS men found hanging from trees – TNN

KOLKATA: Another grisly murder on Monday, within a day of the first killing, intensified the political violence and vitriolic blame-game between BJP and Trinamool in the state.

On Monday, BJP worker Samatul Dolui's body hanging from a tree near a field was discovered by residents of Sarpota village in Howrah's Amta. Dolui's family and BJP netas in Howrah were quick to blame Trinamool. "Dolui was active in BJP and gave the party a lead from his booth in the Lok Sabha polls. He had received death threats soon after he took out 'Jai Sri Ram' rallies in the locality. Trinamool-backed anti-socials ransacked his house immediately after polls, " said BJP's Howrah (rural) president Anupam Mullick.

When some miscreants tried to snatch Dolui's body while it was being taken for post-mortem, villagers protested, prompting the district administration to deploy RAF.

A day earlier, on Sunday, an RSS veteran, Swadesh Manna, too was found hanging from a tree in Atchata village. Manna had also been taking out local 'Jai Sri Ram' rallies for the past few days. "In both cases, Trinamool supporters have killed our party workers, " Mullick alleged. The murders threw up a recall of similar killings in Purulia in the run-up to the 2018 panchayat polls when BJP workers had been found hanging from poles. But unlike in Purulia, Dolui's body had no posters attached.

Trinamool MLA Pulak Roy denied his party men's involvement. "BJP is trying to shame us. But none of our workers is linked to it, " he said. In another incident in Sodepur, two disgruntled security men Rakesh Das (38) and Sujit Biswas (40) were beaten up with iron rods by suspected members of Trinamool's trade union wing Inttuc. Das and Biswas had tried to float a BJP-affiliated union. The duo was rushed to hospital. A complaint has been lodged against six Inttuc 'members' at Khardah police station.

BJP workers hit the streets to protest the Sandeshkhali killings in North 24 Parganas barely two days ago, blocking rail tracks on the Sealdah-Basirhat section as part of a 12-hour BJP bandh in South 24 Parganas.

In Midnapore's Keshiary, BJP workers led by state unit president Dilip Ghosh flouted norms after district administration stalled formation of panchayat board citing the Sandeshkhali tension. "It is only a bid to stop us from forming the board when we have majority. Trinamool marauders are shooting our men in daylight. But people are with us, " Ghosh said.

Trinamool secretary general Partha Chatterjee claimed a grave conspiracy by BJP in their workers targeting Trinamool activists and police. "

Mamata: BJP planning riots, govt dismissal

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee on Monday charged the BJP-led Centre with trying to “dislodge” her government and working with the party’s Bengal unit to instigate riots in districts on the India-Bangladesh border to “turn Bengal into Gujarat”.

She remained the lone strong voice against the BJP in the country, Banerjee said, accusing BJP of using the post-poll clashes as a pretext to trouble her government. “Two were killed in Sandeshkhali. But senior BJP netas are saying five were killed. Don’t insult Bengal. Here women move around freely at night. They are trying to create communal strife. They want to dislodge my government, ” she said at Nabanna.

The CM reminded the home ministry that a “mauled tigress” was even more dangerous, a day after the home ministry sent a terse advisory to the state, accusing it of failing to maintain rule of law following the Sandeshkhali violence. Banerjee also mentioned the switchover of GJM councillors to BJP in Darjeeling .

“All these councillors were kept under house arrest in Nepal. They did not return to the Hills but went straight to Delhi and joined BJP, ” she said. The CM also said people from across the international border may have been brought into Bengal to incite violence. “The Centre has cancelled visas of two Bangladeshi actors simply standing by at a Trinamool rally but is silent on another actor of Bangladeshi origin who has joined BJP, ” she said, referring to Bangladeshi actor Anju Ghosh.BJP’s surge in Bengal was not the result of a public mandate, Banerjee said, accusing it of improving its state tally by inciting communal sentiments, luring voters with money.

Yes, but we need to see action, beyond "terse messages". People getting lynched for taking out processions is not acceptable. Why hasn't CBI arrested the murderers if the local Polis don't? Clearly these BJP workers didn't just go beat themselves up and hang themselves, hain? If the state govt. does not think the murderers are TMC goons, why is that and why has no one been tried and convicted?
Central Govt. needs to stop playing and act - note that this did not start with just this election campaign. Murder of one person is more than enough cause.

To add to that, a part of the State leadership of Bhajpa has been saying that imposition of 356 will be akin to "Shaheed" -ify her, and they would not let her do that. Don't know if there is actually any logic in this.

Yes, that seems like political fiddling while innocents are being murdered. In fact I would like to see history recording that the TMC goon-raj was crushed as decisively as the Nizam's Razakar-raj and Portuguese torture-raj in Goa. And of course BD.

This Razakar culture is also deep-seated in the history of Bangladesh. It is only with the support of Razakars in erstwhile East TSPA that the H&D company could perpetrate the Baluchistan like pogrom. And now, here we have a redux, in the form of Sheik Shajahan, who has his own Razakar Bahini, and Police, and Civic Police, and icing on the cake, Rohingyas.

On the other hand, one 75 year old peaceful, died in a State run big Multi Speciality hospital, and later a team of 2 truckloads of peacefuls with helmets on, lynched junior doctors. One of them, is critically injured. Junior doctors are in a Dharna, and has shut down the state run medical facilities, not just in Kolkata, but across the state. No action has been taken on these doctor lynching peacefuls, as they are "cows that provide milk".

I was reading the history of the Nawabs of Bengal from 1704 to 1757.
As the Mughal empire in Delhi lost its sheen, the Bengal Subedars (Bengal, Bihar, and Odissa) declared themselves nawabs with consent of Delhi.
Remarkable thing is all were Shias.
Second all were Deccani converts.
The first nawab, a Deccani Brahmin, was sold as a slave to a Persian Shia who took him to Persia and after his death he came back to Deccan. Aurangzeb noted his talent for administration and sent him to Bengal. he eventually became the nawab. His son-in-law managed to rule Bengal for long time and launched conversion project of the whole subha. He was a Deccani too. And Bengali complain of Maratha raids under Shivaji and Peshwas!
And his son was overthrown (end of Nasiri dynasty) and Ali Vardi Khan (Shia) took over.
And guess who was is supporter! Jagat Sheth who later helped EIC overthrow Siraj-ud-Daulah.

Essentially Jagat Sheth helped end Shia Muslim rule.

Folks need to get their facts before their opinions

1. CBI is powerless in Bengal. WB has withdrawn general consent for CBI investigation way back in 2018. CBI has NO "policing" powers in Bengal except for those that it gets from the State government in a case to case basis. Does anyone expect Mamta to grant approval for CBI to poke their nose in her backyard "political" murder cases?
2. Article 356 is for when there is widespread breakdown in the constitutional machinery AND more importantly it has to stand infront of the HC and SC. While murder including political murder is reprehensible, it will not stand as a reason for A.356 in a court. Doesn't anyone remember how many such recent application of A.356 has been struck down by the courts?

Folks can outrage as much as they want but fact free analysis will not get us anywhere.

While CBI can not NIA can. We discussed this before. There is no need for WB State Gov approval for that. Make a terror funding or activity allegation and start investigation. But personal safety of the officers will be problem and CRPF needed to be used for that.

Not just NIA but ED, etc are also do not need the state government's consent.

Murder cases can not be converted to terror cases at the whim of the central government even while terror funding investigation can be launched. So that tactics has to be different and the results will only come with time. There is no instant gratification and A.356 that folks are seeking.

Looks like BJP got majority in 148 assembly segments and TMC in 159. Majority required is 148 iirc. So BJP is very near to win in WB in the next assembly elections.

How does the above math work when 159 > 148?

My guess is that some folks opposed to Mamta did still not vote BJP because they did not expect it to do much and went with the flow out of fear.

I expect that will change now with the strong showing by the BJP and BJP has a real chance at power in Bengal. Hopefully, BJP will adopt a more local vocabulary and idiom and not mess this opportunity.

Governor called meeting of parties at BJP's behest, claims Mamata Banerjee
The governor could call people for a cup of tea or a peace meeting, the TMC supremo said, adding, "So I am sending a party representative there. He will go there, have a cup of tea and come back."

Jihadidi sounds pretty desperate. So she may be a State Sultana but IIRC State is still a State of India.
Not coming becoz Law & Order (of which we ain't got none) is a State Subject. I am the Elected Leader and you are only the GOVERNOR.
Representative may be in for more than tea.
Thx for clarification on CBI powers etc, pankajji. I think such arguments have been used .. by Nizam and Sultan of Hyd. and Junagadh. R u saying that in desh, there is carte blanche for CMs to be corrupt murderers? Since state polis is under CM, they obviously cannot investigate him - the file will be in his/her office after all..
Explains why Pinnarayi Vijayan is not in jail for murder. Clearly these things need some changes.

First Fundamental Right in the Constitution as I remember, is
Right To Life.
Where that is in jeopardy due to the state government's goons, I think the Center is obliged to send in CBI. If state CM does not accept CBI, I think there is option of sending 67th Sikh. By parachute if necessary.
Yoo Ess history shows what happened with Alabama/ Arkansas Governors tried :P at Center in 1960s and even told their state's National Guards (who have tanks and fighter planes) to obey THEIR law, not Federal.
They found themselves encircled by 82nd Airborne. Of course it needed a POTUS who was unlike later ones.

West Bengal doctors' stir is symptom of larger malaise; mass resignations show issue is beyond matter of security
“This is an outburst of accumulating grievances and anger precipitated due to long-time negligence of safety and security that the doctors have been demanding,” said political analyst Moidul Islam. He felt that recent poll reverses of the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC) have emboldened the Bengal doctors to take to the streets, as they feel that the government is no longer in a position to browbeat or intimidate them, as the party is loosening its grip on the state.
Very interesting comment. This morning too I had approximately the same thought. If this happened before the GE 2019 results, the doctors would have been back to work after a day of protest at best.

Mumtaz Bano-jee no longer seems invincible to the people of Bengal and more folks will be emboldened to take her on even if they are unable to hold out against the might of the state. Plus, she is making mistakes after mistakes. She will continue to be challenged and will continue making mistakes.
In the recent Lok Sabha election, the Trinamool trailed in 40 seats out of the total 42 in postal ballots — a sign that not only are government employees unhappy, they were showing their resentment at the hustings. Officials are aggrieved about their pending dearness allowance, the long delay in implementing the commission report and above all, the manner in which the diktats of party leaders determine their day in rural Bengal.
Bano-jee's re-election is at risk. She is trying to play the nativity card as a counter. First it was "outsiders" causing trouble/striking work, then it was she want's outsiders to be shutout of Bengal medical colleges and now she says everyone in Bengal should speak Bengali. The last one is not loony but the focus after 8+ year in power makes it a political tactics.
