does this mean that KAR will also close it's borders to stop KER patients from entering, even after the SC order

Poor Kerala. Tried to open liquor shops without permission and got slapped by Courts. Even said liquor will be given if Doctor certificate obtained. Now not opening after getting permission from Centre to open. Sympathies to Kerala drinkers

^^^ KL most likely would open liquor outlets in a couple of days. Other southern states have already done so. It would only be an attempt to protect H&D by GoKL. They may not want to be seen as the first to allow liquor outlets to open. But rest assured; the moment these shops open up the gathering there would be really huge. KL also do not have many liquor shops, and all of them are state owned.

Ha!Ha!Ha! And to think an ancestor was its police chief!

I saw a news item that the TN govt. has introduced a staggered
system to avoid the chaos at liquor outlet Qs.
Over 50s get first swig ! 3 hrs. for them from 10am. Then come the naughty 40s,2 hours for them and the last 2 hours for the under 30s. Tokens given for all. Great way to avoid km long Qs.Go pick up your token, plus age/address proof required!
Why can't other states/ cities follow the same system.

PS:One bottle only for cash, two for cards.

Kerala: BJP fumes as Devaswom Board transfers Rs 5 crores from the Guruvayur Temple’s fixed deposits to CM’s relief fund

OpIndia Staff | 8 May, 2020

Kerala BJP President K Surendran has criticised the Pinarayi Vijayan-led Kerala government for making Guruvayur Devaswom Board transfer Rs Five crore from its fixed deposit to Chief Minister’s relief fund.

Reportedly, K Surendran attacked the Kerala government for transferring the money from Hindu temples to the relief fund and said that Devaswom’s step was wrong. This money should have been sent to temples that have been struggling to light the lamps.

He also asked the Kerala government why the chief minister’s fund was not accepting money from other religious institutions.

On Tuesday, the Guruvayur Devaswom had contributed Rs 5 crore to the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund sparking a fresh controversy. Handing over the fund to District Collector S Shanavas, Guruvayur Devaswom chairman KB Mohandas said that the contribution to the fund was a part of the Devaswom’s social responsibility.

“Guruvayur Devaswom had also donated a fund to CMDRF after the flood and it was given after obtaining the permission of the Devaswom Commissioner,” he said. The devaswom used the interest amount received from the fixed deposits from the banks.

Addressing concerns over payment of staff slalries during the lockdown when the temple’s income has suffered massively due to the lockdown, Mohandas claimed that the Devaswom will manage salaries through the interest amount from its fixed deposits.

Meanwhile, BJP leader B Gopalakrishnan had raised objections by stating that the contribution to CMDRF from devaswom income was not legal.

“As per section 27 of the Guruvayur Devaswom Act, the main deity, Sree Krishna, is a minor and the owner of all property and income. It is well written by law that this income and properties should only be used for temple purposes. Moreover, there already exists a case in the High Court challenging Guruvayur Devaswom’s contribution to CMDRF after the 2018 flood,” he said.

The Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments (HR&CE) department of Tamil Nadu had issued a controversial order dated April 22 asking Hindu temples to transfer Rs 10 crores to the State to the Chief Minister’s Coronavirus Relief Fund.

The ruling All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) government in Tamil Nadu had directed 47 temples to give Rs 10 crore of funds to CM relief fund.

HR&CE Principal Secretary K Panindra Reddy had directed all officials working under him in 47 temples including Madurai, Palani, Thiruchendur, Tiruttani, Thiruvannamalai, Rameswaram, Mylapore, and others to contribute Rs 35 lakhs each from the funds towards feeding the poor due to lockdown. Other temples have been directed to give an amount ranging from Rs 15 lakhs to 25 lakhs. All 47 temples were ordered to transfer the fund of 10 crores to CM Corona Relief fund.

This move had come under severe criticism as questions were raised on Edappadi K Palaniswami government’s prejudice against Hindus’.

Finally, the Tamil Nadu took back its order after the Madras High Court found it ‘not legally tenable.

YaY, Just when I thought PinVin had corrected his battered evil image due to sabarimala, by good handling of Covid crisis, he reverts back to his pet theme of raiding hindu religious institutions for filling up his cofffers. Perfect timing for next year elections.
C'mon PinVin try the same on a mosque in malapuram or a church in ernakulam.

I must say Kerala CM must be the happiest guy in the world right now. He does not have to worry about opening the economy, inviting foreign investments, factories, manufacturing or anything else really. Just wait for a few more months and get back on body-shopping bandwagon.

Com. PinVin has been stopped on his tracks by the BJP (or Hindu devotees with legal knowledge) as they have filed a case in Kerala High Court. The transfer is withheld till the final orders come out.

Kerala CM cannot be so happy :). The treasury is empty and used by cats to pro-create. Liquor and lottery still remains the main source of income. And Kerala may also see an inflow of people from the Middle East (as their economy is also not doing good). How these people can take up gainful employment within the state is a big question. One possibility is that labour from the north eastern states do not come back, and that jobs can be taken up by these folks.

You cannot straighten dogs tail and Pinu and goons are such! "Scandinavian level HDI" is not going to provide you gainful employment if you do not have companies to provide you jobs and jobs that provide meaningful wages.

Once the deluge of "Scandinavian level HDI" folks from Malappuram and Kasargod starts from Middle East, well I would expect more terror-related incidents in Kerala.

An interesting article but one with serious implications for other states, if the data is credible.

And, because of the extremely mobile nature of a lot of the KER population mainly due to the lack of job opportunities for them in their own state, the possibility of the undiagnosed/untested cases spreading the virus is a risk.

Data Story: There Are Inconsistencies In Kerala’s Covid Numbers And That Has Dangerous Implications

Venu Gopal Narayanan
May 17, 2020,

Snapshot
An analysis of district-wise data reveals numerous contradictions and inconsistencies, of both data and policy, in the Kerala government’s approach to tackling the Wuhan Virus.
The Wuhan Virus epidemic had thankfully become dormant in Kerala through the start of May, until an abrupt resurgence registered over 50 cases in the past three days.

Communist Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s instinctive response was to pin this spike on returnees, thereby belaying fears of fresh local cluster formation.

This is precisely the same line as the one Vijayan’s co-ideologues in Beijing are spouting — that the problem at home is solved, and that fresh problems are being brought in from outside.

Unfortunately for Vijayan, unlike his Sinic ideal, the Union of India is a democracy in which numbers can’t be hidden.

As a result, district-wise analysis of his own health department’s data shows, on the contrary, that there are multiple inconsistencies which contradict his Marxist government’s proclamations.

These have grave ramifications on easing of lockdown restrictions, a return to normalcy, public health and the economy.

The methodology adopted for this exercise is straightforward. All information issued by the Kerala health department via its daily health bulletins were tabulated by district in a spreadsheet.

This is from Pro-TDP ABN telugu news channel. But i believe this to be true. Migrants were forced to do christian prayers by a police constable at a Govt office in Guntur. We have seen in the past that converted govt officials in AP routinely abuse their positions for conversion purposes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swF641z ... e=youtu.be

And there is This GO issued by Jagan's govt.
#AndhraPradesh govt to release a one-time assistance of Rs 5,000 to 31,017 Archakas, 7,000 Imams and Mouzzams, and 29,841
Pastors. Says #lockdown affected the livelihood of 'religious service renderers'. A total of Rs 33.92 crore to be spent. GO issued.
See the number of pastors vs Archakas given assistance. They are roughly the same although Hindus by any consideration are the majority population in AP.

I'm well aware of the problem in south India, particularly the Telugu States.

Alcoholism is a huge problem in the south. Many of the families try all kinds of methods to get their male members to go sober. They try doctors, magic tonics, puja, ayurveda and finally visiting the churches in hopes that the father will brainwash the alcoholism out of him. Many get good results.

Although, there is no cure for alcoholism. It eventually comes back. At best, you can only replace an addiction(alcoholism) with another addiction(devout religious practices, collection hobby etc)

If you go to the egazette website, weekly, part IV and year, you can see the declared conversions there.

In andhra, many convert to Islam and Christianity on a regular basis. But the underlying problem is what I've mentioned above.

In telangana, conversion is usually seen among low caste(ambedkar) groups, known locally as "maadhollu" aka pig farmers. These people have unstable tribal practices and run into all kinds of socio-economic problems. Conversions are also seen among migrant andhra castes that have settled in telangana moons ago. The kappu/kappollu(farming caste) people in telangana do not relate with the kappus from andhra and refer to them as the "other". Culturally, telangana follows "Folk Hinduism"; very similar to the agri-marathi people in Maharashtra. Animal sacrifices, feasts, group dancing events merged with festival practices. Castes stay well segregated and do not like to criss cross. The nationalist(bjp) notion of discarding caste is not taken kindly here and hence alternatives like TRS exist which meet the local requirements. BJP is a a foreign party here but lately it has gained foothold because of AIMIMs mischief. The BJP will need to respect the local caste segregation policy if it wants to expand throughout telangana. Random churches do come up magically on the outskirts of random villages but attraction is generally only limited to among certain unstable castes and/or families destroyed by alcoholism.

an old article from 12th November 2018.

These guys are still trying to subvert the issue even today.

Sabarimala Temple was Buddhist temple, Kerala government informs High Court

Sabarimala Temple was Buddhist temple, Kerala government informs High Court

The Kerala government has submitted before the Kerala High Court that there was a school of thought that Sabarimala temple was a Buddhist temple and the word 'Saranam' was derived from Buddhism.

12th November 2018

KOCHI: The state government on Monday submitted before the Kerala High Court that there was a school of thought that Sabarimala temple was a Buddhist temple and the word 'Saranam' was derived from Buddhism.

M Harshan, Additional Secretary to Government, Revenue (Devaswom) department filed the affidavit in response to a petition seeking a directive to enforce Rule 3 (a) framed under the Kerala Hindu Places of Public Worship (Authorisation of entry) Act, 1965, which prohibits entry of non-Hindus into temples. The petitioner submitted that non-Hindus and non-idol worshippers have no right to enter Sabarimala.

According to the state, it was historically accepted fact that Sabarimala is a secular temple where entry of devotees is not restricted on the ground of any caste or religion. The 'Vavar Nada' at Sannidhanam co-existed with Sabarimala temple and from time immemorial Muslims used to come and offer prayer at Vavar Nada as well as Sabarimala temple. It was also a fact that on the way to Sabarimala at Erumeli, there is a mosque known as 'Vavar Palli' and from time immemorial all Ayyappa devotees irrespective of caste and religion used to offer prayer at Vavar Palli and then only proceed to Sabarimala. The 'Petta Thullal' which is an essential religious part of the Sabarimala pilgrimage starts from Vavar Palli.

The state further pointed out that 'Harivarasanam' was sung by Singer KJ Yesudas, who is a Christian by birth. Yesudas is a devotee of Ayyappa and used to visit and offer prayers the temple. It was also a known fact that several other Christian and Muslim religious persons were devotees of Ayyappa and conduct pilgrimage at Sabarimala every year. It was an openly debated fact that Sabarimala was originally a worship place belonged to tribals.

The state submitted that the Wakf board, Muslim organisations, Vavar Trust, Christian organisations, Tribal organisations should be made a party before taking any decision in the petition. When the larger public interest of different religious and secular issues was involved, the issue cannot be adjudicated by the court without publication in media as contemplated under Order 1 Rule 8 of CPC.

Liquor sale resumes in Kerala after two months...

More than 1.5 million people have registered for alcohol alone today, the Faircode company said....
Sale of liquor and beer is one of the biggest revenue earners in Kerala. In the last scal, the southern state garnered Rs 14,504.67 crore on this
count.
An earlier study conducted in Kerala revealed that around 32.9 lakh people - 29.8 lakh men and 3.1 lakh women - out of the state's 3.34 crore
population consume liquor. Around five lakh people consume liquor daily. Of these, 83,851 people, including 1,043 women, are addicted to alcohol.

TV channels aired visuals of long queue in front of many outlets as customers complained of technical glitches like prolonged delay in getting onetime passwords and lack of facilities at the counters to read barcodes.
Internet-literate Keralites unleashed an attack on Kochi-based Faircode Technologies, the firm that developed the app. The app was launched on
Google Playstore Wednesday night after facing several technical issues.

Infuriated consumers who did not get one-time passwords after hours started pounding BevQ with a minimum rating of one on Playstore.

Interesting forward, received on whatsapp.
The Lushington – Sullivan Feud in the Nilgiris

(The dispute between the two architects of modern Nilgiris, Stephen Lushington and Collector John Sullivan was not personal but ideological)

After 1800 the East India Company was divided into two groups. One was the Calcutta group led by Governor Generals like Cornwallis who believed in regressive methods to administer India which they considered as ‘won’. This group held sway over most of north India.

The other group was led by Governor Sir Thomas Munro which believed in a progressive administration and fair and equal treatment of the native and was in control in the south.

The main issue of contention was the collection of land revenue which was the major source of government resources. The Calcutta group opted for systems like the Zamindari whereby the collection of taxes was entrusted to local chieftains or men of powerful or influential castes. The administration looked the other way how or how much they collected as long as the administration’s requirement was met.

The Munro group, on the other hand, revived an age old system of Ryotwari, whereby a fair and reasonable tax was directly collected from the cultivating farmers. It was argued that the fair system will motivate a higher collection of taxes while keeping the farmers happy and productive. The ownership of land by the farmers, big and small, by means of a Patta title proved a great incentive to the farmers.

Sullivan, Cockburns (Collector of Salem and founder of modern Kotagiri), and Casa Maijor( the retired judge who brought English education to Ketti and surroundings) belonged to the Munro group. These people mostly came from a liberal bureaucratic background while Lushington belonged to the Calcutta group and came with a political background.

Governor Munro was the main source of support to Sullivan to make Nilgiris a health resort. Munro declared Ooty as a Hill Station on May 28, 1827, the same day he died of cholera in Andhra Pradesh.

Lushington who succeeded Munro was against Sullivan from the beginning. The feud touched every aspect of development of Ooty. Sullivan wanted to make Ooty a civil town. Lushington declared it a Military Bazaar and brought it under Major Kelo, the Commander of Nilgiris. Sullivan wanted to create the Native Town near Kandal. Kelso made the town in the Main Bazaar. Lushington then brought corruption charges against Sullivan and forced him to resign in 1831. Next year, Lushington divided the Nilgiris and transferred most of the area (except Kotagiri and Ooty town) to the Malabar district and made a direct road (Sispara ghat) to Malabar.

In 1833, Lushignton was reprimanded by the Board of Directors and was succeeded by Governor Elphinstone. Sullivan was appointed member of the Revenue Board and later a member of the Governor’s Council in Madras. Sullivan relentlessly worked to bring every inch of Nilgiris Lushington transferred to Malabar back to Nilgiris by 1843. Otherwise, except Porangadu (Kotagiri), all the Badaga land will be in Kerala. The fate of Gudalur

How the MP where this seats falls gets away scott free, this is a direct result of the type of Politics he plays. P.S it falls under Wayanad Lok Sabha seat.
The kind of degenerates that dwell in these districts will even put Salahuddin and co to shame. They force Hindu hotels to down their shutters during their fasting. Bacha****i is a popular pass time here among the peacefools. They don't spare innocent kids and we are expecting them to show kindness to animals.

Amar Prasad Reddy@amarprasadreddy 2h

Amzath Ali and Thamim Shaikh were arrested for the elephant killing case in Kerala.
I demand the @CMOKerala to do the transparent investigation without any mercy based on religion, caste or creed.

This Majestic Being calmly waiting out the excruciating pain till her death. She took Jal samadhi in the same position.

the very same treatment should be given to her assassins except that the explosive filled pineapples should be used as a suppository on each of them.

Omkar or anyone else can you point me to history of Telugu Samsthanams under Nizam? Or write what you all know please?

Thank, ramana

FYI, There were 16 designated Samsthanams under Nizam. Some had Reddy, some had Velama.
Three biggest were Wanaparthy, Gadwal, and Jetprole.

A sad incident in Kerala, which also shows the trend of justifying any crime based on the religious aspects of the place of incident.
Pregnant Elephant Ate Pineapple Stuffed With Crackers In Kerala. She Died Standing In River
A sad incident, which exposes a problem in many parts of India. That is encroaching of forest lands and the delimitation between forest area and inhabited lands becoming thinner and inner. This stuffing of explosives in food items is a time tested tactic in Kerala, mainly used against wild boar. But there is no confirmation whether the pineapples stuffed with explosives was meant for the elephant or for a wild boar.

Kerala elephant death: CM Pinarayi, other leaders call out hate campaign, bigotry
This incident was said (and first reported) to have happened in Malappuram district, where the Muslim community is in the majority. As soon as the national media highlighted the incident, GoKL, Kerala based media groups and 'secular' groups went on the defensive. Rather than just admitting that such an incident happened and that the perpetrators would be identified and prosecuted, an attempt was made to show the incident as happened in the adjacent Palakkad district. And then the whine that others are bad-mouthing Kerala started. Unemployed cinema actors etc also started their dance dramas on social media.

NOTE: Main stream media in Kerala regularly uses one-off incidents in other parts of India to show that entire state to be poor, culture-less and regressive people. But what is good for the goose is not good for the gander; that is what their current attitude .

Police trap admin, members of WhatsApp group that shared child ***** content.
Two days back K.P busted a WhatsApp group focusing on child *****. The tip off on the group's existence seems to have reached K.P HQ from UNICEF. The admin has been picked up already and the hunt is on for the regular patrons (using their IP address etc.). The core group was based at Malappuram Dt, Kerala.

IIRC, pakistanis has wiped off most of the wildlife after turning Islamic. I wonder if this holds true for all islamists barring the ones in tropics where it's not easy like Indonesia.

Anyway two fellows both Muslims were caught for the elephant killing. Let's see what comes out. If they have any Tanlighi Jamath ties could be an IEzd practice run.
