This bill is tougher than 370 which had all peoples' support across. This has "technical" discrimination that psecs can pick up and go boinks.

Who is advising congress ?
Would not have their politics served better by low key opposition to the CAB bill and as usual walk out rather than making it high decibel with non sensicle comments. That they are Muslim-Pasand Party is known but why tattoo it on the forehead.
Islamists would dump congress faster than a snake sheds its skin once they find better Muslim alternative.
True that Public memory is short but Images don't fade away so quickly especially in this age of Social Media and unlimited data. By blaming Hindus for partition and making Islamists as some angels among us, They are going to lose even the anti-incumbency which a opposition party normally reaps.
Which moron would have people like Sibbal and Aiyyar in his/her party and Why ?

No Saar. Amit Shah needs to work with double vigour on the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) which has been also mandated by the Supreme Court.

It will be fun to see what excuse the Shiv Sonia Sena jaichands will give to not support the bill for getting the Italian congress support to remain in power in Maharashtra. Aack Thoo.

Look at the Irony. At one time Rajputs fought against the Marathas in support of the invading Mughals and now Shiv Sena in opposing the CAB (and the introduction of UCC) is siding with Congress - the biggest champions and supporters of Mughals.

What was galling something as simple as CAB was twisted by these opposition fellows and USCRIF sanction threat. For something RTE where foreign Governments will definitely get involved and I don't think our MPs will hold the line when the next gen Visa will be threatened. Definitely we have along way to go.

Italian Congress and its jaichand indian supporters will do anything to make sure that pappu continues to become MP from Muslim majority constituency in Kerala. If blaming hindus for partition is what it takes they will happily do it. Plus the barmaid also needs to think about her own seat in parliament as she will not be sure of winning her seat in UP and needs another muslim majority constituency too.

Saar, just for saving her seat in UP, INC won't indulge in such harakiri. There's definitely more than meets the eye. Who is controlling Congress?

Its actually puzzling that Congress is taking EVERY single decision in EXACT opposite of India's and Hindu's interests. Be it GST, demo (obviously), 370, 3T, yada yada yada....And on top of that, they post Pappu as a forefront of their crusade. Either Congoons are really retarded or someone is actually taking them for a good ride in garden.

Dear India & Liberals
#ShivSena 's is a minor sin, it never came seeking for votes, in the name of secularism, but JDU, BJD, BSP, TDP & YSRCP did.
Never forget their betrayal.
#CitizenshipAmendmentBill2019
#CAB2019
If Sickulars discard TDP & YSRP in Andhra who do they expect to gain? If they desert BJD in Odisa who will gain? If they desert BSP in UP who will gain the max?

Bhai thoda adjust karna seekho else you all will end up working for BJP even while fighting it. When life gives you a lemon make a lemchus. :rotfl:

I don't think that MAD will react very politely to any USCRIF sanction threats.

If matters ever go that far, the US will not escape all that easily, trump and sanctions be damned.

At this stage, they have everything to lose and nothing much to gain by pissing India off

All this will be done quietly by the MEA and harsh home truths will be told like never before.

The Union home ministry has asked all state governments to send their suggestions for a major overhaul and recasting of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC), officials said on Thursday.

The new structure and content of criminal laws will be citizen centric, reflect the aspirations of a modern democracy and provide for speedy justice, especially to the weaker sections of society, said an official.

The Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPRD) may undertake review of the laws such as the IPC, CrPC, Indian Evidence Act and the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Minister Amit Shah's Reply | The Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2019

I am still somewhere in the middle but two notes.

1. At some point Shah reveals that under the Modi government, 500+ muslims have been granted Indian citizenship.
2. Start @23:45 that under PChidu, on the request of Rajasthan, 13,000+ Hindus and Sikhs ONLY were granted citizenship and here we are granting the same facility to ALL minorities but we is being criticized! Whatever CON does it is secularism .. till when will you keep fooling the country.
3. @25:10 - This bill does not take away anyone's citizenship but just grants citizenship to prosecuted minorities from our neighborhood.
4. @26:40 - Quote a CON resolution from 1947 where CON resolution about all "non-muslims" from Bakistan being provided for in various ways. Then he quotes Gandhi from Sep 1947 talking about "Hindus & Sikhs" from Bakistan being provided for to set up a new life. {Very good opposition research .. quoting CON under Banditji and Gandhi .. both this name and their language will calm things abroad to an extent.}

PS: The biggest issue that CON and their supporters inside and outside have with the bill is that for the first time the atrocities inflicted by Muslims of the sub-continent on Hindus/Sikhs/etc go into the official document/bill/record. All 70 years of effort to whitewash Muslim atrocities on non-Muslims gets washed out in one shot and therefore the angst.

PPS: When uber-yinduvadis ask why Modi does anything at all for peacefuls they forget 1) Equal citizens of India 2) Use of such points to defend other major civilizational initiatives.

What a day and what a year this has been. Onward to nation wide NRC now. Though I don't think we will be able to identify even a fraction of illegal immigrants. It will be a repeat of Assam NRC. But it will prevent future illegal immigration.

All that GOI has to do is to start asking for ID at train stations and bus stations, and road stops. And see which Aadhar cards say "Made in Pakistan". Don't underestimate intent and capability of guvrmand. Once the Aadhar came into vogue with bank accts and all, there is no hope to stay incognito. 1st gen cards may be flawed but then 2nd gen will be better. Plus, now a small percentage of immigrants in NE etc will have motivation to point to the illegals.

NRC+CAB will act as a firewall when the disruption created by the looming climate changes hits Bakistan and Bangladesh if not before. This is future-proofing India.

Plus all such bills have multiple small unseen and unguessed but consequential impact on the future course of the nation. This LS/RS discussion too became a drawing room spectacle. Imagine how many young ones got to know the lies that they have been fed over the years in the name of secularism. THAT is the first side-effect. I will not speculate on what else it will do other than its stated purpose for now.

Back-handed support no doubt given that he was Idioteer of Hundistan Crimes
US body wants to take India to cleaners over citizenship bill, but what about America’s dirty linen?
Abhijit Majumder
is a senior Indian journalist who has been the editor of national dailies like Mid Day, Hindustan Times (Delhi and NCR editions) and Mail Today.

As the treasury benches of India’s Parliament thundered in applause on Monday with the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB) clearing the Lower House, a press release was being drafted 12,000km away in Washington DC.

The United States Commission on International Religious Freedom (USCIRF), a habitual basher of the one of the world’s most ethnically vibrant democracies, proposed to the US government sanctions against Indian Home Minister Amit Shah over CAB.

India cannot shrug off the USCIRF as an uninformed, loony outfit. It’s a commission created by the International Religious Freedom Act, 1998, and American taxpayers pay for it.

The USCIRF put India on the Countries of Particular Concern list in 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2009, and 2010. It tried to pass off the mass murder of 58 Hindu pilgrims in Godhra by a Muslim mob as a mere train fire. It has failed to criticize the ethnic cleansing of Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s. It also successfully made the US government revoke Indian PM (then chief minister) Narendra Modi’s visa.

So, USCIRF is not fringe. It’s very much part of the State.
Tone deaf to India’s reality

Does the USCIRF understand or acknowledge the geopolitical reality of the Indian subcontinent?

In the backdrop of nearly 1,000 years of repeated Islamic invasions and then British colonial rule, West and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh) were created out of India in 1947 because Muslims wanted their Islamic nation.

After Independence, India and Pakistan signed the Nehru-Liaquat pact in which both nations agreed to protect their minorities.

India kept its promise. Five presidents of India, several chief justices, army and intelligence chiefs and other top posts have been occupied by persons from the minorities. India’s Muslim population grew from 9.8 percent in 1951 to 14.2 percent in 2011 and Hindus slipped from 84.1 to 79.8 percent.

However, in Muslim-majority Bangladesh, minority Hindus dwindled from 22 to 8.5 percent and in Pakistan from 12.9 to 1.6 percent in about the same period. In these nations, minorities have faced wanton murders, rapes, forced conversions, temple destruction, disappearances and largescale land grab.

CAB has been brought solely to address the persecuted refuge-seeking minorities from Muslim-majority Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan –– Hindus, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Jain, and Parsis.

Persecuted Muslim denominations are not included because these populations scripted their destiny by actively asking for the Partition of India on religious lines.

America lives in a glass house

What is the US’ own record on promoting religious tolerance and global harmony? It is a very long tale of double standards and dark alliances.

In 2017, US President Donald Trump said that persecuted Christians would be given priority over other refugees seeking to enter the US since they had been “horribly treated.” America has been criticized for ethnicity-based visas and green cards and brazen racial profiling.

The US also continues to separate Latino children from their families — 4,000 so far by some estimates — to punish their parents for illegally immigrating.

It allowed Saudi Arabia to be chosen to head the UN human rights panel. It regularly looks away from egregious rights violations by Saudi and other Arab allies. Its robust weapons and logistical support to Saudi’s war in Yemen has reduced that nation to rubble, with hundreds of children dying in air raids.
The US also looks the other way when Israel denies Palestinians the Right to Return, yet its institutions lecture India on Kashmir.

It is widely alleged that the CIA had trained Osama bin Laden while building a bulwark of militias against the Soviet Union in Afghanistan. Then there are reported instances of the US’ support for genocidal regimes. In the late 80s, Somali dictator Siad Barre’s men massacred an estimated 200,000 members of the Isaaq tribe. Reports say that to counterbalance Soviet influence in the African political theatre, the US backed Barre after making him switch sides. Whether it is alleged involvement in the little-known 1965-66 massacres in Indonesia or silence during the 1971 genocide by Pakistani forces in Bangladesh, or reportedly being in touch with the architect of Darfur genocide, Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir, the US has not exactly built itself a pulpit to preach from.
Sanctions as tool of supremacy

So, what makes the US and its institutions carry out sanctions on other sovereign nations with such impunity?

The US sometimes uses these curbs to genuinely rein in rogue regimes like North Korea or Venezuela. But often, it uses sanctions to cut rivals down to size while imparting a moral ring to the act.

Recent trade sanctions against China are an example. Or more than 60 rounds of sanctions against Russia in the last seven years over Ukraine, allegedly not complying with North Korea sanctions, or meddling in US elections. The 2017 Countering American Adversaries Through Sanctions Act (CAATSA) and the 2018 ‘oligarch sanctions’ provide little clarity on steps needed to lift these. Sanctions have doubtful outcomes. An India determined to secure itself and make civilizational changes is not going to cower from the threat of sanctions.
It has already hit back.
“The position articulated by USCIRF is not surprising given its past record. It is, however, regrettable that the body has chosen to be guided only by its prejudices and biases on a matter on which it clearly has little knowledge and no locus standi,” read an External Affairs Ministry statement. The US and India have developed a warm relationship in the last few years. But the talk of sanctions by the friend’s attack dog will put it in the freezer.

I had shared the idea before too and others have had the same idea.

IPS OFFICER RESIGNS

On 1.08.2019 a MAHA Cdr IPS Officer sought Voluntary Retirement citing “personal reasons”.

On 25.10.2019 the MHA rejects it.

And conveniently on 12.12.2019 he calls it his last day at work citing “civil disobedience” & CAB as a reason.

What gives?

Is it the same Abdur Rahman whom Barkha has found for us? Was accused of irregularities in recruitment, and was giving preference and benefits to Muslim candidates https://m.timesofindia.com/city/nagpur/HC

1) What can GOI do to those identified as illegal muslim migrants? push them back into BD? throw them into the river? take away their voting rights? wonder if this question has been raised during parliamentary debates? 2) the burden of sheltering immigrants has fallen on NE states. GOI should have a policy of settling immigrants across all states based on some formula. if UP has 10% of indias population , it should take in 10% of immigrants. 3) there is no future proofing against climate change. If there is climate change and Bdesh is going underwater, there is no way u can stop the flow. but this climate change issue is not important in the near to medium term IMHO. 4) yesterday i saw a vid where Gen Bikram singh ( retd) is saying we should be sensitive to Bdesh feelings on CAB issue as they are a muslim majority state which hugely disappointed me. Did Govt of Bdesh care two hoots about indian sentiments when they were screwing hindus of Bdesh. I dont know how such high officers can have such a defeatist mindset !!
