Christians soft target for Islamic radicals, NCM writes to Shah
NCM vice chairman George Kurian on Monday issued a statement saying "the spate in organised religious conversion and using the victims for terror activities by trapping them through "love jihad" has shown that the Christian community is a soft target for Islamic radicals." He goes on to add that "it is important that the home ministry takes note of this alarming trend and order a probe by the National Investigative Agency and bring in an effective law to curb such fraudulent activit- ies of radicalised elements."

The statement comes in the backdrop of the NCM having received complaints from two Christian families. In one incident that took place in Kerala's Kozhikode, a Christian college student was allegedly raped and the act was filmed by the accused who mounted pressure on the victim to get her converted to Islam and when she refused an attempt was made to abduct her from the hostel she was staying in.
Now how will the Media and courts react when the charge of "Love Jihad" is raised by the vice chair of the National Commission of Minorities? Will they bury their head or will they dismiss it as a "communal ploy" of hindutva forces?

India and Pakistan used to be discussed in hyphenation. The world stopped doing this long ago but the Indian media has recently brought the hyphen back. This does a huge disservice to India and is done most by ‘nationalist’ news channels.
There is a message here.

Hyphenation and de-hyphenation are in your mind. The outsiders see it without your biased lenses. India is seen as a prominent large country with ancient civilisational foundation and an aspiration to grow, prosper and contribute.
There is a message here too.

Mostly one needs to ignore the pig but at time one needs to wrestle with it too. The key it to know when to get into the ring.

I lived and worked in Turkey some years ago. Visited recently and surprised at the level of Islamisation under Erdogan.
The Turkish media are only reporting that he has called for dialogue over Kashmir, at the UN.

While Turkey has to be made to pay a price for supporting Pak, the ships are actually to be made in India (Hindustan shipyard) with the Turkish company as the ship and yard design consultant. This contract does not give us enough leverage. Better to issue a travel advisory saying Turkey is not safe for
Indian tourists-1.5 lac of whom visited last year.

Boss, Navi Mumbai was originally built to be the Lutyens of MH, so that the Mantralaya and govt. offices could be moved there and congestion in South Mumbai would decrease. The MLAs and Mantris flat-out refused to go; so Navi Mumbai rotted for a couple of generations while South Mumbai went to hell. If these honchos were unwilling to countenance the relocation of their fancy workplace address to a few kms away, no chance whatsoever that they'll agree to move the whole kit and caboodle to dusty old Nagpur.

this has been a long time coming, thanks solely to fadnavis.

everyone tends to gloss over fadnavis thinking that he is just another innocuous boy next door, propped up by the RSS and remote controlled by them.

this guy has singlehandedly dismantled the likes of the pawarful and other influence peddlers and decimated them in rural MAH where they have always had their strongholds, defanged the coop banks and undercut the sugar barons and APMC system and virtually demolished the unions controlled by these guys rendering them all toothless and without influence.

This is the true reason that the panicked politicos are deserting the pawarful in droves and are now denying all connections to the now radioactive pawarful lot.

SS only has influence in the city via the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation and its humungous budget and is mostly limited to that region only. The real political power in MAH flows from the alliances made in faraway rural MAH.

Nagpur is the second capital of Maharashtra since day 1 of the formation of Maharashtra state and winter session of assembly is held there every year. In fact last year the most important monsoon session was also held there. We have Nagpur high court bench also. And all other relevant administrative machinery.
As it is decentralization has taken place a great deal all over the state. Like, we have Aurangabad bench of high court also.
There is no reason to divide a well managed, progressive and leading state for whims and fancies of a few vested interests.

ED books Sharad Pawar, nephew Ajit in Rs 25,000 crore money laundering case

ED books Sharad Pawar, nephew Ajit in Rs 25,000 crore money laundering case

Sep 24, 2019,
Mumbai.

Mumbai-based activist Surinder M. Arora had approached the Bombay HC, demanding an investigation into the MSCB scam.

It may be recalled that on August 22, news media reports that Sharad Pawar could face charges in the MSCB imbroglio which exploded after the Bombay High Court judgement last month.

Triggering a political earthquake ahead of the October 21 Assembly elections in Maharashtra, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has registered a money laundering case against Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) President Sharad Pawar, his nephew Ajit Pawar, and several other politicians and officials in the Maharashtra State Cooperative Bank (MSCB) scam worth around Rs 25,000 crore, officials said here on Tuesday.

The ED’s move against the political bigwigs came after the Bombay HC ordered the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Mumbai Police to probe and file cases against the Pawars and others in the matter, setting the politicians scurrying.

Following the EOW’s FIR in late August, the ED filed its case on Tuesday.

Mumbai-based activist Surinder M. Arora had approached the Bombay HC, demanding an investigation into the MSCB scam.

Earlier this month, Ajit Pawar and others had moved the Supreme Court to quash the proceedings in the matter, but Justices Arun Mishra and M.R. Shah had declined the plea and instead asked the Mumbai Police to conduct a free and fair probe.

The ED said there were several irregularities in loans provided to the cooperative sugar factories (CSFs) by the MSCB officials who were allegedly connected to the owners of the factories.

The loans were sanctioned to the factories despite weak financials, negative net worth, collaterals not taken in many cases and additional facilities extended without any justification.

This and other factors resulted in many of the cooperative sugar factories falling sick while many were sold at lower than the reserve price for the benefit of the buyers who were personally or politically connected with the MSCB directors whose consent was not taken before the sales.

Besides, the ED said many transactions involved forged sales documents and many sales were effected without inviting tenders, thus flouting rules of the NABARD, RBI and SARFAESI.

“There was huge misappropriation of funds on the part of committee members, directors and loan committee members of MSCB, acting in connivance to siphon off the money and causing huge losses to the bank,” said the ED.

Setting the ball rolling last month, a division bench of Bombay HC comprising Justices S.C. Dharmadhikari and S.K. Shinde had ruled that there was prima facie credible evidence and directed the EOW to initiate proceedings invoking the relevant provisions of the law.

The Pawars and other prominent politicians, named in a public interest litigation filed by Arora, were accused of causing losses worth around Rs 25,000 crore to the MSCB between 2007 and 2011.

Earlier, a quasi-judicial probe panel under the Maharashtra Cooperative Societies Act had blamed Pawars and the others accused in the matter.

The National Bank for Agriculture & Rural Development (NABARD) had also inspected and audited the MSCB, revealing flouting of various banking and Reserve Bank of India (RBI) rules while distributing loans to sugar factories and spinning mills, and the subsequent defaults on repayments and recoveries of the dues.

Despite the probe reports and complaints lodged by Arora, no action or FIR was filed in the matter after which he filed a PIL in the high court in 2015.

Not just Lavasa’s wife, his sister and son too are under tax dept scanner

Three members of the family of Election Commissioner Ashok Lavasa are under the scanner of the Income Tax. Not only was his wife Novel Singhal Lavasa, an ex-banker and director in several firms, sent an I-T notice in August, his sister Shakuntala Lavasa, a paediatrician, too received a notice the same month.

The tax department also surveyed the books of accounts of Nourish Organic Foods Ltd, a company in which his son Abir Lavasa is a director and holds 10,000 shares as part of an employee stock option plan last financial year.

When contacted, Abir Lavasa said, “A notice, directed to Nourish Organic, was issued by the I-T department. A survey was conducted into the company’s books of accounts in August first week. The department has not sent anything since then.” An Income Tax officer said Abir has sought adjournments and not replied to the department.

Incidentally, Ashok Lavasa, one of the three commissioners in the Election Commission, had on five occasions opposed the clean chit given by the Commission to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former BJP president Amit Shah on charges of violating the Model Code of Conduct during the campaign for the Lok Sabha elections.

The tax department also questioned Rupali Buildwell Private Ltd, a builder firm, that constructed a four-storeyed building in Gurgaon, co-owned by Ashok Lavasa and his wife Novel. Tax officials visited the builder’s office and residence in Gurgaon. “I don’t want to comment on this,” said Satya Priya Tyagi, the company’s director, in a text message. Kavita Tyagi, his wife, said the I-T officials visited their residence on August 22.

The department has assessed the value of the building at Rs 7.2 crore based on the sale of one apartment to Shakuntala Lavasa at Rs 1.86 crore in 2017-18. It is of the view that this investment needed “further probe”. Its initial probe found Ashok Lavasa owned four properties — three in Gurgaon and one in Noida — as on date.

On the issue of notices served by the tax department, both Ashok and Shakuntala Lavasa refused to comment. Nourish Organic Foods, in which Abir is a director since November 14, 2017, received Rs 7.25 crore from Mauritius-based India-focused early stage investor, Saama Capital in March 2019. RoC records show it was allotted 50,000 shares at Rs 1,500 a piece on March 29, 2019. At this price, Abir’s shareholding will be valued at Rs 1.5 crore.

Saama Capital has invested in a number of start-ups in India including Paytm, ChaiPoint, Vistaar (NBFC), Snapdeal and SKS Microfinance.

RoC documents show Nourish Organic was promoted by Seema Jindal Jajodia, wife of Sandeep Jajodia, Chairman and Managing Director, Monnet Group, and daughter of the late O P Jindal. It earned a profit of Rs 16.86 lakhs on total revenue of Rs 5.33 crore in 2017-18. The previous year, it reported a loss of Rs 24.4 lakh on revenues of Rs 3.4 crore.

Not just Lavasa’s wife, his sister and son too are under tax dept scanner

The tax department has concluded that the “effective management” of Nourish Organics vests with Abir, given that Seema Jajodia resigned two months after he became director in November 2017. Another director, Naresh Kumar, resigned the same day Abir joined.

Further, it has listed a couple of transactions linked to the company as “suspicious”. These include a share premium of Rs 4 crore received in 2008-09 and also a loan from an entry operator in Kolkata and acquisition of shares by Bonita Traders Pvt Ltd in 2010. But both these transactions happened years before Abir became a director in the firm.

The Indian Express reported Tuesday that the I-T department had issued a tax notice to Novel Singhal Lavasa. The department has found that Ashok Lavasa himself has shown receipts of Rs 20.02 lakh from a company Vibrant Trade Avenues Ltd, in which his wife was a director. In a statement issued Monday, she said she had paid all taxes due and disclosed all income earned from pension, and all other sources as per the law.

I think Indian companies should be called to develop drone jammers; This will become more prevalent over time as quite capable drones are available off the shelf. This tech would be very useful in future and we should develop it indigenously.

So reminiscent of the Grooming Scandal of Rotherham. The initial victims were Sikh girls and nobody believed them or their parents when they complained of rape and such by the Paki gangs. Even when the targets became white girls the police turned a blind eye, not wanting to upset the 'Asian' community. It took years before the scandal broke and if the reports are true, the stuff still happens and some of the perpetrators are still at large.

I hope the Indian government is more pro-active.

In an unrelated development, two Christians have written to the PM to investigate abuses inside Churches by clergy.

First, a Love Jihad complain by a "Non-Sanghi" of some standing.
Second, A plea to investigate the Church on issues of abuse inside the institution.

It’s advantage BJP in Haryana, Maharashtra [Rasheed Kidwai Rasheed Kidwai]
Going by a poll survey, the Congress’ electoral chances in Haryana and Maharashtra appear to be next to nothing. But the party is making no attempt to reach out to anti-BJP parties in these states to put up a joint fight. Perhaps, the failure of the Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party in Uttar Pradesh during the 2019 Lok Sabha elections has had a demoralising effect on the entire opposition.

The capability is there , the Russians have demonstrated a single unit jammers ranging out to hundreds of km .. GPS jamming for starters ., as i understand its not difficult to implement but before that, i need to know who is taking it and where it goes, the pakis are going to get a real bad experience

waqf board s lawyers' arguments in the Supreme Court
Dhavan said, “There’s a difference between saying no prayers (were held) and saying it was abandoned. Once a mosque, always a mosque..
..
He contended that the law of limitation would also apply to deities, and that the legislature ought to have made if it wanted to make an exclusion. He said every idol cannot be a juristic person and referred to examples to illustrate this.

Intervening, Justice Bobde said that “there can be a deity without an idol” and referred to Chidambaram, where the sky is worshipped
..
Why is the waqf passing comments about any other party .. this is what happens when an exclusive religion is allowed to meddle in places of worship of others as legit side with it's own centres of power having nothing to lose while carving out pak exclusive kabilas for themselves.

Missionary rats & their fellow-NGO-travellers hate the fact that Sadhguru and Sri Sri have stolen their thunder and are actually doing a lot for water rejuvenation. They hate the fact that Sadhguru comes in the way of unbridled conversions. If he & Sri Sri weren't so well known, they'd have tried to assassinate them.

Hope Amit Shah notes down the names of these signatories and goes after them with a vengeance. Not just shut down these NGOs but arrest the whole lot. Its safe to say that most of them receive illegal funds from abroad
