She shared a FB post ... Does it mean she didn't write but shared someone else's post? So a scum got angry and reported to police? so the cop went ahead and arrested in 2 hours?

This is bizzare. Not even time to investigate if the FIR is fake. We really need hard training on social media to cops and prosecutors and their responsibilities.

Yes. She shared the post and did not write it.

I wonder if that mulla had previous grudge and the policeman was like Daroga Happu Singh.

I really would like that draconian measure repealed. They are UPA era baggage to control dissent.

Essentially the proverbial sword in the hands of the monkey.

A clear cut definition of legal terrorism where everyone from FIR noting person to DM can have vested interest and a chance to extort funds. Also another venue to collect election funds if there's a local nexus. With an arrest, one way or another, a person has to spend some money out of pocket. Essentially one more way of preying on Hindus with the added bonus of scaring them from expressing their opinions. With the misuse, one gets to collect money from multiple entities.

Right now only 6 MPs voted against the NIA amendment bill.
Not one single party opposed it.

Totally agree sir. Though would like the weapon to be as sharp as possible. But at the same time, do realize that more than the sword it is how you wield it and who wields it decides the outcome.

In today's world of near instant communication, anything less than instant authority to arrest and arraign, means you are working against time. E.g., videos of now prime accused (now dead) started circulating on Social Media weeks before Sri Lanka blasts. Why wasn't the person or associates arrested beforehand? Will this act provide adequate legal cover?

This act talks about converting current courts into special courts - well isn't the current judicial system so burdened that child sex offenders with multiple convictions are walking on streets and the National Capital @#$% case is still to be decided.. Should not NIA courts be set up across the country in next four - six months to take care of NIA cases?

Only thing this act does is - bring cyber security within its ambit that should have been included right from start.

Otherwise this act is very ordinary.

Rishi'ji, thanks for pointing it out. The way I see it, some of this bills need to be incremental. The state cannot go full fledge with a bill that will unite the opposition in a way that their over-reaction is detrimental to overall cause.

As for TADA, it had severe flaws. And it was more likely to be misused than rightly used. Imagine Nambi sir would have been arrested under TADA? There needs to be due process. Since any crime fighting bill without due process will result in it being misused rather than used properly.

It is better to give teeth incrementally to police agencies. It is counter-intuitive, but an incremental tightening of such criminal law bills inherently make them flexible and hence more effective.

Setting up sessions court is via the high court and even a state can set up session court under the aegis of NIA in their high court. This leaves SCI free to pursue cases like banning fireworks in Diwali or come up with a plan for Govindas during Krishna Janmashtami.

If you think carefully, CBI was under the Delhi police act and secular courts and corrupt state governments threw spanners in its ability to pursue cases effectively. NIA is evolving like FBI. I like the case of human trafficking. So if police in W. Bengal turns a blind eye to Gidhads (coyotes) running human smuggling of Rohingyas, they can be brought under book! All we now need is NIA to succeed in RS and go for presidential assent.

I think NIA bill is step in right direction. One step at a time.

Yes sir, see the point of incremental tightening of the screws. We have history of tightening the screws - TADA, Anti Dowry Law - and then loosening them - that is worse.

So a Ranchi girl, Richa Bharti, asked aloud why “one community” is disproportionately represented among terrorists. From what I have heard, she was responding to a viral TikTok video, where some “seculars” ask what if Tabrez Ansari’s son decides to “avenge” his father’s death by becoming a terrorist.

This is as practical and achievable a template as can be. But two dimensions of this template suffered over the past two decades and not unintentionally. But they are getting strengthened now. Delhi and Ranchi incidents have turned out to be big catalysts.

Tend to agree with both of you. The "seculars" as I see it is now using judicial system in perhaps a last ditch attempt to make the trust which people had on BJP to go up in smoke. And I don't think every BJP Govt. or leader out there are as chalaak like Na.Mo and A.Shah. The way things work in Jharkhand, looks the government may not even have known about this incident even now ;). The only silver lining on the dark cloud is that the common Hindus have come in support of the girl. And it kind of also proves one point - BJP requires an even more right wing party to be on its right side, or else to push them towards left-centre or else they would become a Congress II.

Mean while at Karnataka..
Karnataka Crisis LIVE | SC says rebel MLAs can't be forced to participate in trust vote
  • As of now,16 MLAs have resigned bringing down the Assembly strength from 224 to 208. Congress-JDS strength has come down to 101 (including one from BSP), while BJP has 105 and support of two Independent MLAs.
  • MLAs should not be forced to take part in trust vote: SC
  • Supreme Court says the discretion given to the Karnataka Assembly Speaker to decide resignations of rebel MLAs should not be fettered with any direction.

So as I read it..
1. The threat of a whips and disqualification if it is NOT obeyed is not going to work out. SC says MLAs cannot be coerced to take part in trust vote.
2. The Speaker can take his own sweet time to decide on the regisnations, but that is of now no use because the MLAs need not take part in the trust vote.
3. If the MLAs don't turn up and the overall size of the KA state assembly gets reduced, BJP will still have the numbers to get the no-confidence motion passed. None of the trouble maker MLAs are from the BJP, so they being disqualified, suspended etc. is not going to happen.
4. Now the only way forward for the "seculars" would be to liaise with BJP MLAs and convince them to abstain or go missing from the KA assembly tomorrow. But the "communals" are holed up in some resort.

Anti-hindu factions are very few but they occupy very crucial positions in our society. BJP should atleast push their own people to these positions and neuter these factions.

Even vishnu avatars change the social structure once they hold the highest positions. bjp should grow a spine and be little more assertive.

CPI, TMC, NCP May Lose National Party Status As Election Commission Gears Up To Issue Notices

CPI, TMC, NCP May Lose National Party Status As Election Commission Gears Up To Issue Notices

by Swarajya Staff
Jul 17 2019.

With Lok Sabha election results having been declared in May, the Election Commission of India (ECI) is set to issue show-cause notices to several national parties to justify their said status.

Of India’s eight national parties, Communist Party of India (CPI), Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and All India Trinamool Congress (AITMC) are under the ECI’s radar following their dismal performance in the general elections.

For a party to be registered as a national party it must meet one of the following criteria

A party wins 2 per cent of seats in the Lok Sabha from at least three different states.
At a general election to Lok Sabha or Legislative Assembly, the party polls 6 per cent of votes in any four or more states and in addition it wins four Lok Sabha seats.
A party gets recognition as a state party in four states.

The NCP and CPI along with BSP were facing the prospect of de-recognition as national parties after the 2014 LS polls too, but earned a reprieve as the ECI changed its review duration from five to 10 years. BSP, however, is better placed after the 2019 results.

National parties enjoy several benefits like reserved national symbol throughout the nation, free air time on Doordarshan and AIR and subsidised land for party offices among others.

Kapil Sibal claims Barkha Dutt was sacked before her tweets, won’t be paid anymore, Barkha says Sibal is lying

Kapil Sibal claims Barkha Dutt was sacked before her tweets, won’t be paid anymore, Barkha says Sibal is lying

The Sibals, who are promoters of Tiranga TV have claimed that Barkha was fired on 13th July on 'disciplinary grounds' after she 'levelled serious allegations' against them.

Senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal has claimed that senior journalist Barkha Dutt was sacked from Tiranga TV on 13th July two days before her sensational tweets on the Sibals. The Sibals, who are promoters of Tiranga TV have claimed that Barkha was fired on 13th July on ‘disciplinary grounds’ after she ‘levelled serious allegations’ against them. Kapil Sibal has reportedly said that since Dutt’s contract was terminated on 13th July on ‘disciplinary grounds’, she is not entitled to any further compensation.

Promila Sibal, Kapil Sibal’s wife and one of the promoters of the channel, said that Dutt’s contract was for a year and was due to expire in September 2019 and she was not entitled to any compensation beyond that. Dutt, however, had claimed that she was fired for speaking about the internal emails where she compared Sibals with Mallya for not facing the staff and going on a holiday to London instead.

Promila, however, refuted the claims and said that they were in London to ‘celebrate their grandson’s academic success’ and had not fled due to financial reason. She has even denied the allegations that the Sibals would use abusive language for female employees, calling them ‘kutiya’ or ‘bitch’. Calling the allegation ‘frivolous’, Promila said that neither she nor Kapil had met Barkha in last 3-4 months. Kapil Sibal, too, chimed in saying that Barkha wrote the accusation ‘as an afterthought’.

In fact, the Sibals have now put the blame of financial troubles of the channel on Barkha. They claim that they were hesitant to launch the channel but ‘reluctantly decided to go ahead with it’ after Dutt protested saying how many journalists had joined the channel giving up their current jobs. As Barkha had predicted, the Sibals also blamed the newly elected Narendra Modi government for the advertisers to back off. Lack of advertising revenues led to deepening of their financial troubles, they claim.

Barkha, on the other hand, has alleged that Kapil Sibal is ‘lying again’. She has claimed that her contract requires the Sibals to pay her a year’s salary if the channel shuts or terminates before. Dutt says that Sibal’s claims regarding her contract are patently false. “Contract clearly stipulates that if channel shuts before the year or even contract terminated, remaining period of a year to be paid. Sibal lies again,” she tweeted.

Tiranga TV’s sacked employees have been narrating their situation on social media for the last couple of weeks. However, things came out in the open after Barkha Dutt, in a series of tweets on 15th July, revealed how dire the situation with Tiranga TV is. She had confirmed that about 200 employees of the channel were sacked without adequate compensation. She had also revealed that Kapil Sibal and his wife had planned to blame Modi for the crisis at the channel, and added that there was no interference in the channel from the union government. Later that night, bouncers were sent to Tiranga TV’s office to intimidate the protesting employees.

the paki army has put the fear of bajwa into the paki ex CJ of pukiland Tassaduq Hussain Gillani.

seriously wondering if 69 is his age or his predilection.

In Kulbhushan Jadhav case, the only dissenting voice in UN court panel is Pakistan judge

In Kulbhushan Jadhav case, the only dissenting voice in UN court panel is Pakistan judge

The International Court of Justice that ruled in favour of India’s request against the death penalty handed down to Kulbhushan Jadhav and stayed his execution delivered its verdict by a 15:1 majority. The only dissenting voice in the 16-member world court on most counts was ad-hoc judge Tassaduq Hussain Gillani, 69, a former chief justice of Pakistan.

Judge Gillani concurred with his fellow judges on only one point: That the ICJ, variously also referred to as the UN court or world court, has jurisdiction to hear India’s plea against Pakistan over Kulbhushan Jadhav.

On each of the seven other points on which the ICJ ruled, Judge Gillani was consistently the dissenting judge.

1. By a 15:1 majority, ICJ rejected Pakistan’s three objections to the UN court admitting India’s request.

2. By a 15:1 majority, ICJ concluded that Pakistan breached its obligations under the Vienna convention by not informing Mr Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav of his rights to consular access under this pact.

3. By a 15:1 majority, the world court concluded that Pakistan had breached its obligations under the Vienna convention by not informing India about the arrest “without delay”. Pakistan had taken nearly three weeks to inform New Delhi about Kulbhushan Jadhav’s arrest.

4. By a 15:1 majority, the UN court concluded that Pakistan deprived India of the right to communicate with and have access to Mr Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav, to visit him in detention and to arrange for his legal representation. Accordingly, the judges concluded that Pakistan had breached the obligations incumbent upon it under Article 36, paragraph 1 (a) and (c), of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.

5. By a 15:1 majority, the ICJ ordered Pakistan “to provide, by the means of its own choosing, effective review and reconsideration of the conviction and sentence of Mr. Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav” as reparation for the breach of his rights.

6. By a 15:1 majority, the ICJ directed Pakistan to inform Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav without further delay of his rights and to provide Indian consular officers access to him in accordance with Article 36 of the Vienna Convention on Consular Relations.

7. By a 15:1 majority, the ICJ declared that “a continued stay of execution constitutes an indispensable condition for the effective review and reconsideration of the conviction and sentence of Mr. Kulbhushan Sudhir Jadhav”

The latest statement by folks like K.C Venugopal seems to indicate that Jr. Gowdru will have to abdicate. The numbers are not in favour of JD(S)-INC couple. I am sure there would be some heated debates in two resorts in Bengaluru today (which houses JD(S) and Congress MLAs).

RBI is going to give 9 Lakh crores to Govt. next next 3-5 years.

Modi 2.0 is getting ready. They are setting up RS to do some serious reforms. They are not going to wait for 3 years like last time to get GST passed and get the grief at the end. I think budget is also just calm before the storm. They don't want to be thrown off the trail like 2014-16 based on successful campaign to derail sagar mala, land reforms, GST.

Finally judiciary is getting the signal from public if not from politicians. I think that's better. Well aware public is better than one leader and a political party.

Public all the way. Last thing they want is a set of Hindu lawyers working as a single force across the country and Hindus opting for a fight thru the court system rather than paying the court system that preys on Hindus.

Ranchi Court has taken its order back.

Good first step. The case against her however still remains. The girl was hurriedly arrested on friday evening so they can put her in jail for 2 days over the weekend. Shameless. Any other case police take own sweet time to investigate.

Also note "holy quran". Judiciary never prefix holy for sacred hindu literature. Looks like this has been a practice since british days and these people are mindlessly following it. High time for judiciary reforms.

These Indian schools are giving lessons in happiness

Pupils in Delhi’s government schools from pre-primary age up to 14 years old are receiving daily lessons in happiness, which include yoga and meditation and teaching children to take pride in their work.

The 45-minute classes start with mindfulness, followed by stories and activities. While there won’t be any exams associated with the new subject, teachers will make periodic assessments of children’s progress using a “Happiness Index”.

The Delhi government hopes that a more rounded education will mean that knowledge and values will trump the current focus on exam results.

Fixing a ‘broken’ system

The happiness curriculum, launched on July 2 by the Dalai Lama, is part of a wider package of reforms instigated by Delhi’s ruling Aam Aadmi Party to move away from a system that relies heavily on cramming for exams.

Delhi’s education system is made up of both public (government-run) and private schools. It focuses on rote learning and exam outcomes, and the quality of teaching is often very poor. The latest Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) revealed that 25% of 14 to 18 year olds struggle to read a text in their own language, despite having completed eight years of schooling.

where art thou? BJP?

Looks like AAP learned the lessons of May election and getting ready for re-election. BJP better take this capitulation of traitorous left now as a chance and make Yoga/Meditation part of nationwide curriculum. force every state to adapt. If you do, you get funds or else ...
