Day 59 over. Situation Naarmal.
Phew! The wait is over. Arundhati Roy has released hot air.
Now the other whine is that the Judges are ignoring guvrmand abuses. Maybe because there is no evidence?

I turned on a Paki channel on my IPTV just for fun and they have a ticker at the top called "Curfew Clock" which shows the days, hours minutes and seconds since the "curfew" started. :rotfl:

^^ They are releasing in a trickle starting with Jammu arrestees on promise of good behavior. I think MM and OA will be "released" only when the corruption and other charges are ready and they can be re-arrested. Given that Chidambaram is eating idlis in Tihar, MAD are not kidding.

Day 60 over. Situation Naarmal.

Responding to Turkey's statements on Kashmir at the UNGA, MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar said that India does not regret {Ouch! Like its an ignorant child saying it!} the Turkish president's statements onwards on a subject which is internal to India. The ministry also called upon Turkey to get a briefing of the facts on the Kashmir issue.
"We call upon the Turkey government to get a proper understanding of the situation on the ground before they make any further statements on this issue. It is a matter which is completely internal to India," the MEA spokesperson said.

Called the ISIS pushing Kurd-torturer an idiot, quite clearly. With none less than the Keeper of the Ummah (MBS) openly supporting, MEA can now crush these minions.

Releasing doesn’t preclude further detention if law and order situation deteriorates because of their actions. If releases are staggered and re arrests as needed are also staggered than the opportunities for bleeding hears and pukes to cry “complete lockdown” won’t be there.

The policy should be of a revolving door to detention mahal. Call it policy of “fix it by 1000 cuts on devil body and spirit”. Halal not jhatka!

at any given time, keep only a fraction of the leaders of groups which don't get along in circulation. that way, groups don't merge and become one larger group.

Trade and investment of hundreds of billions each year. Not just KSA but also all other gulf countries. Only Malaysia and Turkey are the trouble makers.

KSA has come down a lot in arrogance. Maybe they see the need for good relations with a stable nation that has a liberal refugee/ asylum policy for ex-Sheikhs along with liberal controls on foreign booze.

If India were to offer asylum to ex-PA Jarnails, the Indo-Pak problem may be solved in a day.

the ISIS pushing Kurd-torturer

The kind of friends that pakis attract (intended or not intentional) is total pouring of riots. The other day otherwise docile mohathir or mohajir, a seasoned politician across decades from Malay lands, blabberied something. When it rains it pours says one English phrase.
Trade and investment of hundreds of billions each year

And the other gelf countries are not trouble makers for real?! I hope we don't be the target of what other recipients of the largesse or whatever that is or is called and such and such therein.

Think of a scenario(Just 15-20 years from now) when oil demand will not be so high due to electric vehicles and to top that shell/marcelus/canadian tar oil production will only be increasing. US will not be a big importer as its domestic production is increasing every year. China is going to rely more on Russian oil to gain leverage on it. So where from the Saudis will get an assured market and a big importer? Its India - Not only is it is the fastest growing oil market but is also a huge market place where it can make serious $$ from investments.

That's because India can be assumed to continue to be stupid and pour foreign exchange into terrrorist oil as fast as hard-working people generate it. Unfortunately I cannot disagree, but I DO hope that India will wean herself away from imported energy in the next 5 years.

Very interesting to see the diplomatic dance by Pakistan and India and other countries involved, India with its institutional strength and the strong leadership and bureaucrats and career diplomats is leagues ahead of Pakistan which generally depends on its top leaders and their personal relationships. Pakistan does not even know what hit them and this gap is just going to widen with years to come as India’s soft power raises with the media, business relationships, diaspora and the social media growing not to talk about economic, cultural and military influence.

Good times ahead.

Thousands of people in Pakistani-controlled Kashmir have begun marching toward the highly militarized Line of Control that divides the territory between Pakistan and India to protest the lockdown in Indian-administered Kashmir.

Toqeer Gillani, a leader of Jammu-Kashmir Liberation Front, said Saturday the group will cross the frontier near Chakoti. He said they would spend the night at the midway point and resume their on-foot journey early Sunday.

Senior police officer Arshad Naqvi said no one would be allowed to get to the Line of Control due to security concerns.

Growers unhappy with admin’s ‘Apple Deal’:
The tall claims of J&K government have fallen flat after it failed to disburse the amount to maximum number of farmers who sold their apples under Market Intervention Scheme (MIS) launched by the administration on August 12.
Till date, over 30,000 apple boxes have been procured at four mandis of Kashmir from farmers after 3000 farmers have registered themselves through the National Agricultural Cooperative Marketing Federation of India Ltd (NAFED), which is the nodal agency for procuring apples.

Sources in the Horticulture Department said that to date, apple boxes worth over rupees two crore have been procured from the farmers in four fruit mandis of Kashmir, but only rupees 40 lakh was released into the bank accounts of beneficiaries’.
“The department could only disburse the amount to only quarter of farmers amounting total rupees 40 lakh out of over rupees two crore procurement from the farmers,” sources said.

Rest of the around 75 percent of farmers who sold their cash crop under the scheme didn’t receive the amount within promised time.

Sources in the department, however, said the amount is pending in the department, but has not been disbursed among the farmers.
He said: “On an average, more than 1000 boxes are procured from Sopore and Parimpora fruit mandi every day and Botango fruit mandi at Anantnag has maximum response from the farmers”.

The distressed farmers said they have been cheated by the authorities for not releasing the amount on time, despite the fact that government has already provided Rs 100 crore to procure the crop from growers.
Not only the sanctioned amount, the government has also extended the credit limit for NAFED up to Rs 2500 crore to rescue the distressed farmers.

Under the MIS three grades of apple boxes are purchased from the growers at Rs 54, Rs 38 and Rs 15.75 for A, B and C grade apples, respectively.

Apples are cultivated on 3.87 lakh hectares of land in Kashmir and contributes 75 per cent of the apples produced in India, which fetches Rs 8000 crore annually and supports 45 percent of the population in J&K. Due to the prevailing situation in Kashmir post abrogation of Article 370, the fruit sellers have settled for lesser prices this season despite proper processing, packaging and transportation (kno)

Article 370: There are issues in Kashmir, it’ll be dealt with utmost sensitivity, says Ram Madhav

While addressing a gathering in Hyderabad on Article 370's abrogation, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National General Secretary Ram Madhav said, “Not every Kashmiri is anti-national, not every Kashmiri is a separatist. He's like you and me. We did it (Article 370's abrogation) because we wanted to give development rights, political rights and right to dignified living to all people of J&K”. He further added, “Now Jammu & Kashmir has become an integral part of India. It's like any other state in the country. Two union territories have been created. Ladakhis are very happy, they're rejoicing as it had been a long pending demand for them”. “In Jammu & Kashmir, Jammu region is happy that they have been finally able to fully integrate with the rest of the country. There are issues in Kashmir valley. They'll be taken care of, they'll be dealt with utmost sensitivity”, concluded Madhav.

Lets not shy away from how brilliantly the fab4: ModiJi, DovalJi, ShahJi, and RajnathJi planned, gamed, and executed this move. Even the timing was precise. I mean this repeal of 370 and clampdown.

The timing was also precise because with FATF staring down TSP's face, they (TSP) have mainly resorted to gobar-gas from their rectums and have been somewhat restrained in pigLeT attacks.

And UlanJi, what this has shown so far at least is that those painting apocalyptic scenarios are seething with anger in private. Their hope of a large scale rebellion are fading. And now all they can do is spread fake news and gross exaggerations of the muted protests.

I just heard a BP-rising, bigoted love fest between that Al Jazeera Jihadi Mehdi Hasan and hooker prize winner Adhothi. Man that b@itch hates Hindus, particularly Brahmins as is endemic among Abrahamic faithfuls. In the entire vitriol gang raping of Hindus, of ModiJi, of RSS, of BJP, there was one hilarious moment.

With a very benign tone, as if its an inconsequential side show, the Jihadi asked her about TSP role in fomenting terror in the valley. To which she did the most classic whataboutery if there ever was one and straight from the Paki ISI manual: Oh, in "South Asia" all states are guilty of using militants or 'freedom fighters' against each other and she cites the Mukti Bahini in 1971 to say India is guilty of the same, and she goes on to say: the 'core issue' is 'right of self determination' of Kashmir Muslims that has been denied by India.

Reason for me to put this out is that if ever one encounters someone putting the drivel of 'human rights' abuses by India, the one question one needs to ask is where do they stand: Is Kashmir an integral part of India, or do KMs have a right to secede?

If they believe that KMs have a right to secede from like Adhothi does, then I think you end the conversation right there. Because anything else you say will be like teaching calculus to a wild bison.

On the other hand, if they agree Kashmir is an integral part of India, then you can ask what does one do when a large section of your Muslim population demands secession, colludes with Pakis in wanton acts of terror causing death and destruction. Which one would you prefer, daily killings and blood letting, or some clamp down on basic rights to prevent loss of life?

US Senator keen to see Kashmir ‘first hand’, denied nod
Born in Karachi and having gone to school in Kodaikanal while his father served as an American diplomat in Sri Lanka, Van Hollen has been clued into the Indian politics.
Known for his views on the situation in Jammu and Kashmir, a key US Senator from the Democratic Party wanted to visit Kashmir to see the situation “first-hand”, but the Indian government denied him permission to go there.
Chris Van Hollen is the first US Congressman to have been denied the permission by the Indian government after the special status to Jammu and Kashmir was revoked on August 5.
Born in Karachi and having gone to school in Kodaikanal while his father served as an American diplomat in Sri Lanka, Van Hollen has been clued into the Indian politics. Despite being refused permission to visit Kashmir, he came to India and met officials and key members of civil society in Delhi on Thursday and Friday.
Speaking to The Indian Express on Friday, Van Hollen said, “I wanted to visit Kashmir to see first-hand what was happening, but was not allowed by the Indian government. We had approached the government about a week ago, but were told it was not the right time to go there.”

USA: another Dhimmicrat weighs in with strident pro-Pakistan Hinduphobia on the Kashmir issue.

Elizabeth Warren.

If she is nominated, all self-respecting Hindus should dedicate themselves to her humiliating defeat in November 2020.

The US-India partnership has always been rooted in our shared democratic values. I'm concerned about recent events in Kashmir, including a continued communications blackout and other restrictions. The rights of the people of Kashmir must be respected.

Qn to the J&K experts: Why do ppl FLY from Jammu to Srinagar? Fear of terrorist attack, or condition of roads? How long is the distance and the trip time? Some time back there was a big deal on an express train route opened. Isn't that a lot nicer than getting on a plane?

Govt plays hardball:

Srinagar, October 4

For the first time since Article 370 was abrogated, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has gone into an overdrive to seize the property of incarcerated separatist leader Shabir Ahmad Shah.
The ED has issued the notice to the wife and two daughters of Shah asking them to vacate their residential house at Rawalpora, Srinagar, and hand over the possession to them within 10 days.

The notice to Bilquees Shah, wife of Shabir Shah, and his two daughters — Sama Shabir and Sehar Shabir — was issued in the last week of September under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA). The property was provisionally attached by the ED and the order was subsequently confirmed.
“Whereas, the immovable property described as land measuring 3 kanals situated at survey number 444 & 445, Effandi Bagh, Rawalpora, Srinagar (J&K) along with the building(s) constructed thereupon, in the name of Dr Bilques Shah, Sama Shabir and Sehar Shabir, all residents of Effandi Bagh, Rawalpora, Srinagar (J&K), have been provisionally attached under sub-section (I) of Section PMLA, 2002,” read the order issued by Rajesh Kumar Jain, Deputy Director Directorate of Enforcement, Delhi zone -1

3 kanals is only 0.375 acre. Not a big plot.

Train route Jammu to Srinagar is not yet complete. Express train goes from Delhi to Jammu to Katra. From Katra to go to Kashmir valley you have to cross the Pir Panjal mountains. This is where IR is building the most challenging section of railways in the world. It is not yet complete

Elizabeth Warren 2nd US President Candidate To Sound "Concern" Over J&K
Elizabeth Warren said she is concerned about the communications blackout in Jammu and Kashmir, adding that India-US ties are "rooted in our shared democratic values".
World | Edited by Aditya Sharma | October 05, 2019

NEW DELHI: US Senator Elizabeth Warren on Saturday became the second presidential candidate of the Democratic party to voice concerns over the communications lockdown in Jammu and Kashmir, in force since the centre revoked the state's special status on August 5. The influential American politician's statement comes a month after fellow Democrat Bernie Sanders expressed similar concerns.
India-US ties are "rooted in our shared democratic values", said Ms Warren. "I'm concerned about recent events in Kashmir, including a continued communications blackout and other restrictions. The rights of the people of Kashmir must be respected," she said in tweet.
The Massachusetts senator is one of the fiercest critics of US President Donald Trump, and has often accused him of undermining democracy.
Senator Bernie Sanders, while speaking at a campaign rally last month, called for the lifting of the communication blockade in Kashmir. "I am deeply concerned about the situation in Kashmir..." he said.
"The communication blockade must be lifted immediately and the US government must speak out boldly in support of international humanitarian law and in support of UN backed peaceful resolution that supports the will of Kashmiri people," said Mr Sanders.
The senator from Vermont once again invoked Kashmir during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to the US last month. In an op-ed for a local newspaper, he criticised Trump's "deafening silence" on the clampdown in the state, the same day the US President shared stage with PM Modi at the mega 'Howdy, Modi!' event in Houston, Texas.
