Miitti me mil gaye vo badhshah, jinhe khud par guman tha
Vo patthhar bhi nahi dooba, jis par Prabhu Shri Ram ka naam tha

Ek hi naaraa, ek hi naam
Jai Shri Ram, jai Shri Ram

Koti koti pranaam to all our ancestors and kindred who kept at this struggle for the past 500 years... it is our good fortune that we have had Shree Modi to finally walk the last few steps to fulfill the dreams of our past generations

Took off from work today to watch the ceremony.

The month of 'karkkitakam' (Sun in the constellation of cancer) in our calendar is the month of Ramayan, where we recite the 'Adhyatma Ramayanam' of Sage Ezhuthassan. It begins

श्री राम राम राम - श्री राम चन्द्र जय
श्री राम राम राम - श्री राम भद्र जय
श्री राम राम राम - सीताभिराम जय
श्री राम राम राम - लोकाभिराम जय

Modi Ji did not refer to this book (which is THE ramayan for us malayalis). Instead he referred to the much older Rama Charitham. Probably because Adhayatma Ramayanam is considered to be a translation from samskrtham, while Rama charitham is the oldest and original work in ancient Malayalam.

Nice to see Doordarshan displaying such an upbeat, almost exhilarating tone, with one lady anchor stating that the event defines what India is, and is an expression of national sentiment. And that too in very good English.

#BabriMasjid was and will always be a Masjid. #HagiaSophia is a great example for us. Usurpation of the land by an unjust, oppressive, shameful and majority appeasing judgment can't change it's status. No need to be heartbroken. Situations don't last forever.

Does this mean we are just waiting to become majority to demolish ram temple and make it a mosque again?
Is this a direct threat? If not, why bring "HagiaSophia" as an example...

Someone needs to tell these madrassa graduates that hindus pulled a Hagía Sophía on them.

is it true that in KER, in many places, power was switched off during the bhoomi pujan telecast

An interesting information. First time Prime Minister speech at Ayodhya is being Live telecast in 6 prominent Tamil tv news channels. They could not just ignore the demand of the viewers.

Can’t believe my eyes. Every single Tamil News Channel apart from live streaming #RamMandirBhumiPujan has lined up Swamijis, Spiritual Speakers & True(!) Historians to speak on Ramayana & good virtues of #Ram & #Hindu Gods. Yes, this is real! Attaching screenshots in excitement!

It is a direct threat, one that will be repeated and reinforced ad nausea at jumma, every friday, for decades to come

that is what shaheenbagh was all about.

they are trying to head the UCC off

this is what the britshits and djinnah conspired to get our great mahatma and the tryst with destiny man neverwho to do, knowing fully well what the results would be.

the rest was ably taken care of by a "breeding like rabbits" community

patel knew what the game was and he was sidelined by the two above mentioned britshit stalwarts who conspired and eased him out of the picture that they were hell bent on drawing for our ancient civilization.

A minority that could force the partition of country is not a minority at all. Why do you think that you are a minority? If you are a strong, well-knit and well-organised minority, why do you want to claim safeguards, why do you want to claim privileges? - Patel, 26/5/49

True in the legal fight part. Erdogan pulled a “Legal Babur” by reusurping what was originally a church and which Ataturk tried to seckoolarize as a fig leaf into museum.

But the demolition of Babur’s Boobs are more like if Yehudis develop balls, they would pull down that Al Aqsa dome( build after demolishing an ancient Jewish temple) and convert the entire mount into their holiest site. They don’t have balls, due to khan dependency.

There is a reason why yehudi birathers developed a new found respect for the docile and useless yindoo, after 1992. We set a high bar beyond rocketing cars using helicopters

I felt he looked a lot like Shivaji. It looked a lot like it was his coronation. And like ancient Rajas he paid his respects to Ram and recognized himself as just a servant/devotee of Shree Ram by laying down in front of him.

And this event today and anything related to RJM later will have long term ramifications. Today Hindus from Kashmir to Kanyakumari watched this. And by the time temple will be ready, Modi/BJP will cement their place in decades to come.

Watching Modi sit there at the center of the Bhumi Pujan made me realize again how much a closer connection he has with the culture of the land than any prior Indian leader. He's familiar with the rituals, norms and cultural knowledge of the country, and can speak about it in a universal language that the entire country can understand and nod along to, as if he's one of them.

Any prior leader I could see attending this in the following manner - shows up with SPG retinue, does folded hand greeting of the priesthood, then gets ushered to VVVVIP area from where he/she can watch. Maybe a token offering at the ceremony itself, but firm orders given to 'not make it very hard for the boss - send us prior notes on what you'll be chanting so he knows what to do next and doesn't look silly on live camera, even if it's a 10 second ritual'. Not even someone like ABV or PVNR, I can't picture carrying the gravitas of the moment the same way. Definitely not any past or present member of the Never-who clan - it would be clear their presence is to assert 'it's because of me that you can see this. vote for me! Oh btw, this place is being called Indira Gandhi memorial Ram Temple, ok thanks bye bye!'

Not Modi. He's basically sitting there with no protection in sight for several meters, no VVIP dais, no retinue. He's not covered in garlands and doing photo ops, looking like he just stepped out of a helicopter. He's not there for himself. He's not triumphantly positioning himself for the photos with his eyes and mind set on the next election. He's there because he's one of the land's people who have cherished this moment and simply finds himself bestowed upon with, the divine grace of being in charge when 5 centuries of humiliation are being wiped clean at Ayodhya. And he acts accordingly. He did feet on the ground work towards this end more than a generation ago, and was lucky not to get massacred then.

There's nothing about him or his own self interest, in his presence. Rather, he's simply fulfilling his role as a socio-cultural leader performing his duties in a ceremony, as we all do when we have to perform our share of puja duties. During the entire video feed, I rarely saw him as the PM - some elected role, easily handed over to some other guy by similar elections. Rather, he's implicitly the paramount leader - someone people readily view as the guardian of their culture as much as a much more trivial political leader. No one can find themselves elected to the status Modi expressed. To get there requires a familiarity with the culture of the land that takes a lifetime of learning and interaction with the people to appreciate, and the respect of the people who recognize the lifetime of devotion the person has given to learning to lead a culture.

Even TN, the center of the campaign of his political opposition, was overwhelmed by the demand for the live broadcast of the entire ceremony. Youtube was a sight. Those of us far away watching on youtube had several different channels to follow, and some had live comments on. This was completely pointless. Did anyone see how FAST the comments were scrolling ? New responses were coming in at the rate of approx 10/second. If it wasn't for the fact that 99% of it was 'Jai Shree Ram!!' it would be unreadable. Any analytics would probably show these feeds topping their viewership across the board.

Posters who are saying 'Modi looks like Shivaji' are saying something like this. But think deeper - what does that even mean ? Shivaji isn't famous because he was some political leader. He's famous for having guarded and re-established the native culture over the land. That is essentially why I see Modi being so wildly popular. Any other Indian PM was just a political creature, in comparison.

Indeed this was a historic and divine day for India. Yes Indian Liberfandooshes, Sickularists and their Mai-Baaps in the West will vail and fume and voy to demolish when they become a majority one day...This day also serves a lesson for Hindus to remove the blinders...those who do not leran from history will succumb to it again... Now onwards to UCC...

Now I am convinced that anything Modi does is not without hidden signals, especially for whom they are intended. I had made this light hearted post last month about their resemblance.

Again, on a lighter note, could be a signal that a smaller, yet smarter and fiercer force from the Swarajya had defeated a much bigger, richer, unscrupulous force. But then with Modi, you never know, it may not even be on a lighter note!

Agree. On BRF I had previously mentioned how this separated Modi on ground in GJ from Advani and others. I have personally seen Advani and his security detail just march into inner parts of temples with weapons and many times shoes on. However, nothing like that would be allowed by Modi.

I think Modi's physical comparisons to Shivaji are somewhat overstated. The more important thing is that he's being viewed as a modern day Shivaji. The claims of physical resemblance are convenient, but lets be realistic here - all imagery of Shivaji are idealized artistic creations. The more important fact is that Modi is seen in the role of a cultural and political leader - something no prior Indian political leader has ever commanded.

You can't make someone be like an ideal past entity just by visual cues but no substance at all. It is the substance that makes the visual 'similarity' in the mind, not the other way around. That is why when RaGa does his hairdo like his daddy, people laugh at him far more than saying 'awesome, the next PM!' He could do more and wear a saree and bob wig and no one's going to believe he's an iron lady like his grandma - they'll just laugh at him even more.

Digital billboard featuring Lord Ram and Ram Mandir comes up at Times Square in New York
https://www.opindia.com/2020/08/digital ... -new-york/
Muslim groups in the USA and left-liberal activists in both India and USA had tried hard to stop the display of Ram Mandir’s imagery on the digital billboards at Times Square. They had launched a campaign against it after it was known that Hindu groups had hired billboards for 5th August. They had also contacted the advertising agencies that own the billboards to stop the display, but apart from one agency, others didn’t agree with them.

‘Branded Cities’, the firm that manages the NASDAQ digital billboard had said that they have decided not to give the said billboard for the 5th August event to the Hindu groups.

Meanwhile interesting story about my alma mater designed and manufactured in India N95 masks. Just 6 months ago, number of N95 Masks and PPE manufactured in India was close to zero. India imported all PPE/N95 masks. Now thanks to amazing team work between so many different teams around India, we can (from what I have been told) produce about 300,000 such each day.
(All achieved - from earlier design to testing / approving by agencies / getting industry to help manufacture/market etc within months - wow!)
IITK team designed Namo's Ayodhya mask

Sad news is Prof Karandikar (IITK director who was behind all this) is just tested positive - let us wish him well.

I really really hope that RJB is declared a national holy site and the entire area around it is converted to a Raamvan(garden). This entire area is very densely populated and it would be a huge challenge but I'm sure with the right kind of resources and administrative action this can be done over a few years. There is also a substantial peacefool population around this area which would become a challenge as soon as BJP loses power in state or center.

I like to think he stayed away from the imported churidar dress for this solemn Indic occasion. He looks more like a family elder conscientiously following the instructions of the priest in a puja than a hifalutin Prime Minister.

Murthy saar, thanks :) "Family elder" were the exact words I thought of adding in my post - that when he talks, he sounds like a family elder everyone stops to listen to when he speaks his mind openly, and is a role where he'd virtually fit into most Indian families . Now that I think of it, I think his Mann Ki Baat is really such a role where he can muse and share, and quite an enormous number of people follow it, among the lower middle class especially.

Can you or someone enlighten me as to whether he writes his own speeches (I am guessing yes) or has a masterful speechwriter? Be it word, or gesture or dress, the man is the most gifted and impeccable communicator I have come across.
