Saw an item on Wion News that a cargo vessel headed for Karachi, pakiland is held up in a port in Gujarat. DRDO personnel inspects it and find some prohibited hardware (dual use technology used in missile launches) as cargo listed for delivery to Karachi, pakiland.

So, why would a ship carrying precious cargo to pakiland make a stop in India first? The vessel crew did not know they will be detained in India, if found out? Why not use Karakoram highway to send prohibited hardware, so that there will be no hassles?

IIRC, there is more to the story than the ship simply making a stop in India when it had lots of shady goods.
Maybe it was lured there/"engine fault" made it come there etc. Will know the true story only after a time lag, I guess

Kakarakoram highway is not always usable especially in winter, and heavy cargo is difficult. We probab;ly intercepted it on the high seas but nobody wants to admit it.

wondering why they didnt do it in winters..could it be turning radius of truck..or something else...or not even air..not sure if autoclaves could not be transferred in SKD parts.

Regarding the COSCO vessel detained by India

Kandla Port authorities issued the crucial “no-objection certificate” after verifying it had no dues as per the norm.

“Suddenly, however, there was a flurry of activity. Senior Kandla Port officials got calls from New Delhi..."

The tip-off, HT learns, came from Hong Kong to the highest levels of Indian intelligence.

Category 4 and 5 of the Scomet regulations deal with the transport of dual-use technology, especially those that can be used for the production of nuclear warheads.

https://m.hindustantimes.com/india-news ... 4GIPI.html

The machine appears to be a centrifuge(see uranium enrichment). Some are saying it is a machine used to make composite cones of missile tips. Some are saying it is part of nuclear missile. Wait for official reports.

Per some some news reports, Cause is not tractor trolly and lamb curry but cargo ship with soy

(BTW for I may be giving away how ancient I am but I think Paki schools/colleges still use H2S in there organic chemistry lab -- India I think stopped in 50's- 60's -- (For well over a century hydrogen sulfide was important and was a standard feature in any in any chemistry lab -- qualitative inorganic analysis of metal ions *e.g., Pb, Cu, Hg, As) are precipitated from solution upon exposure to H2S -(IOW a high school student can identify H2S as salts containing these metals will show bright identifiable color ppts if there is leak -- BTW also if the concentration is higher (about 50 ppm), they say it smells "sweet" before killing you)

^^^ For experts here - Any heavy water plants near by ? I am sure people may be aware but H2S is used for Heavy Water production (In Pak, the reactors like Khushab) use heavy water and I think this process..and spy agencies monitor unusual H2S concentration for this reason.

We used to make H2S in our Central School lab in a device called Kipp's apparatus, back in 1968 or so. It is standard practice, where a small amount of the gas is needed. It has a bad odor of rotten eggs. In Pak H2S is manufactured by the consumption of pindichana.

Baloch freedom fighters attack Pak Army camp, 16 personnel dead
extracts
The attack took place on Tuesday when Balochistan Liberation Tigers' fighters targeted the Pakistani Army post in the Singsila area killing the army personnel, according to news confirmed by Baloch source.

They also seized all weapons and ammunition of the army men and set the army camp on fire.

In a purported video of the incident which has gone viral on social media, the fighters said that two army vehicles were completely destroyed in the ambush. However, there is no confirmation by the Pakistan Army about the attack.

Have to disagree with you on Wion News. Are you sure you are referring to Wion News? I rank Wion News above TimesNow, India Today, CNN News, Republic TV, in quality. At least in the 9 PM slot. There are no debates/discussions with panelists talking/shouting at the same time. Also, I couldn't find any bias/slant for domestic news. There is just news & visuals, anchored by Palki somebody. For foreign news, there is an Indian POV.

Really?

WION is one of few rational, fact based, and relatively nationalist Indian news outlets out there. Also, they are reasonably articulate and polished, something that is important because other channels like Republic that aren't loony left consist mostly of people talking over each other and yelling all day.

Families of Pakistanis stranded in China reject govt briefing, demand students’ return - Ikram Junaidi

Mother of student Tayyaba Riaz studying in China weeps in front of Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza during the meeting at OPF College, F-8, on Wednesday. — Online

ISLAMABAD: The families of Pakistanis who have not been evacuated from China amid the outbreakof the coronavirus known as COVID-19 protested calling for their return and refused the argument put forward by special assistants to the prime minister onoverseas Pakistanis and national health services.

They blocked Margalla Road in F-8 in protest, arguing that even Afghanistan and Bangladesh had evacuated their citizens from China and asked why Pakistan decided not to do so.

They announced that they would protest and hold a sit-in outside the Chinese embassy and outside ministries if their concerns are not addressed.

A briefing for the relatives of Pakistanis who are stranded in China was arranged on directions from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) to take them into confidence regarding why the government decided not to evacuate citizens.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Overseas Pakistanis Syed Zulfiqar Bukhari told participants at the briefing that the coronavirus situation in China has become complicated.

“We are aware and can realise the problem and anxiety of parents. However, we can assure you that those Pakistani citizens are in safe hands. China has also given permission for two representatives from the Pakistani embassy to visit the affected area and observe the students’ issues. Pakistan is the only country that has been sending diplomats to the affected area and even they will not be able to return without [being quarantined],” he said.

A representative from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said ministry officials care more about the 1,200 students than themselves, adding: “Two representatives of the embassy have gone into theNCV-hitarea and we can see their movement live.”

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on NHS Dr Zafar Mirza said he, the cabinet and the government could understand the anxiety of the families and had therefore decided to hold the briefing.

“Being parents you must be wishing that your children should return today rather than tomorrow and you will not agree to any argument by us. Concerns of parents are right but we should also see the situation,” he said.

One person in attendance pointed to Dr Mirza and said that he had announced the students would not be evacuated.

Other participants also began criticising the government and refused tocontinue withthe briefing, and some even climbed on stage, at which point they were stopped by police.

The families of the students were of the view that the government was not doing enough. They said that even the briefing was held on the IHC’s orders, while the government was putting forward childish assurances.

Some parents said that they were willing to donate money to bring back their children and thanked the high court for hearing their issue. One of the parents said that his child was not getting food or water, and this situation was keeping him up at night.

“Dr Mirza said he cared about 200 million people but we have nothing to do with the people. We just want our children to return, and we are not ready to listen to any other logic,” he said.

Dr Mirza said that the government was ensuring that the students and the nation is protected from the coronavirus outbreak, adding that there would be more disadvantages to bringing the students home than advantages.

One of the parents asked if the financial condition of Pakistan was worse than that of Bangladesh and Afghanistan, which have evacuated their citizens.

“You speak about the youth but do not care about it. If our children are not brought back in three days, we will hold a sit-in in front of the Chinese embassy. We will also lockdown your offices. Bring our children in Pakistan and keep them in a safe place,” he said.

The families then left the school, blocked the main road and shouted slogans against the government. Director General Health Dr Safi Malik and an additional deputy commissioner met with them to persuade them to disperse peacefully, but the families remained on the road until this report was filed.

It is interesting that China has not supported Pakistan at the FATF meet. It could not support Pakistan or it would reduce itself and be seen as an equal of Turkey and Malaysia :rotfl:
China will not let go of any opportunity to remind pakistan that without its heavyweight support it cannot survive and will loose H&D and much more.

There was at least some logic to that - dal at the time was costlier than chicken, so asking to eat chicken as protein source makes sense, even though it was political incompetence that caused it.

This one OTOH is a new height of shamelessness, as with most things Dimmy or PTI
