Can I ask a dumb question here? Is Army planning to use LCH for Counter Insurgency Ops? We need to reduce our losses and LCH in its current avatar is good enough to take on terrorists.

Wonder why they dont own KFC or Chinese food.
It is Papa John (not Pizza Hut; they have filed for bankruptcy)
It is hard to get KFC franchise; much easier to get Papa John's
Many Indians are involved in Subway franchise, which is declining. If you go to the websites of KFC, Papa Murphy, Papa John etc, you can find out how much money is needed to start. I knew some Bangladeshis that left California to start Churches Chicken in a backward state (Oklahoma?) as it was cheaper to start there. They now own several stores there. You can make a lot of money here, if you are willing to put in long hours. Sub-continentals are also into gas-stations with grocery stores in a big way. You do not even have to come up with all the money, a bank will loan if you have equity in a house for example. Or your Paki cousin can lend you the money. All that is legit. You then hire illegal Pakis to work at low wages.

Pakistan Jails Three Accused of Financing Mumbai Attacks
Mubasher Bukhari, SECURITYSOUTH ASIA, 29/AUG/2020

The men were associates of Hafiz Saeed, who was sentenced to a total of 11 years in prison in February.
Lahore: A court in Pakistan has sentenced to prison three leaders of Jamat-ud-Dawa, an organisation accused by India and the United States of masterminding the 2008 attacks in Mumbai.
The sentencing comes ahead of a September deadline for Pakistan to avoid being blacklisted for failing to curb terror financing by global financial watchdog the Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
Inclusion on the blacklist, alongside Iran and North Korea, would mean being shunned by international financial institutions. The watchdog has called for Pakistan to prosecute those funding terrorism, as well as to enact laws to help track and stop terror financing.
Malik Zafar Iqbal and Abdul Salam were each handed 16-1/2 year total sentences on four charges, to be served concurrently, while a third man, Hafiz Abdul Rehman Makki, got 1-1/2 years on one charge, according to a court judgment seen by Reuters.

Pakistan's blatant attempt to designate 2 Indians as terrorists blocked at UNSC
Times Now | 03 Sep 2020, 01:53 PM IST

The United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has thwarted Pakistan's attempt to politicize 1267 special procedure on terrorism by giving it a religious colour, Permanent Representative of India to the United Nations, TS Tirumurti said on Wednesday. Pakistan had initiated a move to list two Indians - Angara Appaji and Gobinda Patnaik - as designated terror operatives under the UNSC's 1267 Committee for Counterterrorism Sanctions.

The UNSC led by the US, UK, France, Germany and Belgium decided to block Pakistan's move after Islamabad failed to produce evidence to back up its allegations.

UN listed cross-border terrorists impacting child rights: India
https://www.wionews.com/india-news/un-l ... dia-326713
Slamming Pakistan at United Nations Security Council, India on Thursday highlighted how UN listed cross-border terrorists are impacting child rights.

Speaking at the UN Security Council Open Debate on Children and Armed Conflict, India in a statement said, "Terror networks spread their tentacles across borders threatening peace and stability. Children are worst affected as they live with a looming sense of fear and uncertainty and are often deprived of their right to education."

The .001% of level-headed packees will soon be locked up. Like the blasphemy law, easy way to settle scores:

NA passes FATF-related bill on terror financing
https://www.dawn.com/news/1579927/na-pa ... -financing
ISLAMABAD: The National Assembly on Tuesday passed a Financial Action Task Force-related bill, the Anti-Terrorism Act (amendment) Bill, 2020, while another bill was laid in the house that suggested punishment of up to two years, or up to Rs500,000 fine or both for “maligning” armed forces of the country and their personnel. :D

In a related development, President Dr Arif Alvi summoned a joint sitting of parliament on Wednesday (today) apparently to get the FATF-related legislation passed that was blocked by the opposition in the Senate last month, sources said. However, no official notification was issued in this regard till the filing of this story.

According to the ATA (amendment) Bill, 2020, the investigating officer, with the permission of the court, can conduct covert operations to detect terrorism funding, track communications and computer system by applying latest technologies in 60 days. Written requests would be made to the court for extension in investigation and the court may extend the period for another 60 days.

The current law will not contradict any other law and the federal government will strengthen the procedure and formulate rules for the implementation of orders. The bill said funding for terrorism was a major obstacle in the country’s development and a source of disgrace to it. Terrorism funding was benefiting those elements which were not only a threat to internal and external peace of the country but also its allies, the bill said.

“The main purpose of introducing this bill is to enable law enforcement agencies to eradicate these curses by adopting certain preventive techniques with the empowered assistance of the courts of law.”

The Criminal Law (amendment) Act Bill, 2020 was laid in the National Assembly to amend the Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, and the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1898, that suggested punishment to those who would malign armed forces and their personnel. This may be called the Criminal Law (Amendment) Act, 2020.

In Pakistan Penal Code, 1860, Section 500A is inserted which said: “Whosoever, intentionally ridicules, brings into disrepute or defames the armed forces of Pakistan or a member thereof, he shall be guilty of an offence punishable with imprisonment for a term which may extend to two years or with a fine up to Rs500,000 or both.”

Nothing surprising there.

If we recall the 'Master Plan' for CPEC which The Dawn revealed, the following appeared there. At that time, it caused an uproar and the whole thing was fudged. But, slowly, the Hans are implementing their original plan (just like the 'String of Pearls' and Pakistan is a pear within the pearl).
Thousands of acres of agricultural land will be leased out to Chinese enterprises to set up “demonstration projects” in areas ranging from seed varieties to irrigation technology. A full system of monitoring and surveillance will be built in cities from Peshawar to Karachi, with 24 hour video recordings on roads and busy marketplaces for law and order. A national fibreoptic backbone will be built for the country not only for internet traffic, but also terrestrial distribution of broadcast TV, which will cooperate with Chinese media in the “dissemination of Chinese culture”. The plan envisages a deep and broad-based penetration of most sectors of Pakistan’s economy as well as its society by Chinese enterprises and culture.

But the main thrust of the plan actually lies in agriculture, contrary to the image of CPEC as a massive industrial and transport undertaking, involving power plants and highways. The plan acquires its greatest specificity, and lays out the largest number of projects and plans for their facilitation, in agriculture.

For agriculture, the plan outlines an engagement that runs from one end of the supply chain all the way to the other. From provision of seeds and other inputs, like fertiliser, credit and pesticides, Chinese enterprises will also operate their own farms, processing facilities for fruits and vegetables and grain. Logistics companies will operate a large storage and transportation system for agrarian produce.

It identifies opportunities for entry by Chinese enterprises in the myriad dysfunctions that afflict Pakistan’s agriculture sector. For instance, “due to lack of cold-chain logistics and processing facilities, 50% of agricultural products go bad during harvesting and transport”, it notes.

Enterprises entering agriculture will be offered extraordinary levels of assistance from the Chinese government. They are encouraged to “[m]ake the most of the free capital and loans” from various ministries of the Chinese government as well as the China Development Bank. The plan also offers to maintain a mechanism that will “help Chinese agricultural enterprises to contact the senior representatives of the Government of Pakistan and China”.

The government of China will “actively strive to utilize the national special funds as the discount interest for the loans of agricultural foreign investment”. In the longer term the financial risk will be spread out, through “new types of financing such as consortium loans, joint private equity and joint debt issuance, raise funds via multiple channels and decentralise financing risks”.

The plan proposes to harness the work of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps {XPCC, which has now been banned by the US} to bring mechanization as well as scientific technique in livestock breeding, development of hybrid varieties and precision irrigation to Pakistan. It sees its main opportunity as helping the Kashgar Prefecture, a territory within the larger Xinjiang Autonomous Zone, which suffers from a poverty incidence of 50 per cent, and large distances that make it difficult to connect to larger markets in order to promote development. The prefecture’s total output in agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry and fishery amounted to just over $5 billion in 2012, and its population was less than 4 million in 2010, hardly a market with windfall gains for Pakistan.

However, for the Chinese, this is the main driving force behind investing in Pakistan’s agriculture, in addition to the many profitable opportunities that can open up for their enterprises from operating in the local market. The plan makes some reference to export of agriculture goods from the ports, but the bulk of its emphasis is focused on the opportunities for the Kashgar Prefecture and Xinjiang Production Corps, coupled with the opportunities for profitable engagement in the domestic market.

The plan discusses those engagements in considerable detail. Ten key areas for engagement are identified along with seventeen specific projects. They include the construction of one NPK fertilizer plant as a starting point “with an annual output of 800,000 tons”. Enterprises will be inducted to lease farm implements, like tractors, “efficient plant protection machinery, efficient energy saving pump equipment, precision fertilization drip irrigation equipment” and planting and harvesting machinery.

In crops, demonstration projects of more than 6,500 acres will be set up for high yield seeds and irrigation, mostly in Punjab.

In the final sentence of the chapter on agriculture, the plan says the government of China will “[s]trengthen the safety cooperation with key countries, regions and international organizations, jointly prevent and crack down on terrorist acts that endanger the safety of Chinese overseas enterprises and their staff.”

Islamabad hails map triumph over Delhi at SCO
The National Security Division (NSD), in a media statement, said: “Pakistan highlighted that India under international law had no legal rights to claim the internationally recognised disputed territory of Jammu and Kashmir as part of India. Pakistan informed SCO secretariat that India’s illegal and unilateral actions in IIOJK were in grave violation of the UN Charter and UNSC resolutions on the Jammu and Kashmir dispute.”

The SCO agreed to Pakistan’s position, it added.

The map then remained on display in Mr Yusuf’s background during the meeting prompting Ajit Doval to walk out.

“Once again, India’s attempts to make a significant multilateral forum subject to petty bilateral debate failed and Pakistan’s new political map and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people were highlighted during the meeting of National Security Advisors of SCO member states,” the NSD stressed.
why not India show tampered map of pak with Baluchistan as separate country and publish?

Pakistan blocks Indian envoy's appointment; bilateral ties take another hit
WION Web Team New Delhi, Delhi, India Sep 20, 2020.

Pakistan has blocked the appointment of Jayant Khobragade as India's chargé d'affaires in Islamabad. It has denied a visa to Khobragade, a Times of India report said on Sunday.
Pakistan downgraded diplomatic ties with India and expelled Indian High Commissioner Ajay Bisaria in 2019 when India revoked Article 370 and bifurcated Jammu and Kashmir region into Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh. Since then, the Indian mission in Islamabad and the Pakistani mission in New Delhi have been headed by their charge d’affaires. Khobragade's name was proposed in June this year.

Actually, gang rape burglaries are on the rise in NE/Central Punjab. It seems that raping in front of the family is a thing with these gangs. No talk of addressing the larger crime problem, just focusing on a manhunt to deflect from their incompetence to keep law and order.

Proof of how little Pak matters to India/Indians these days is apparent that I had to look for this thread, it was 4 pages down. :D

Anyway jihadi Hindu hater now is begging for his terrorist brothers to be allowed into IPL. Very cute Al-Taqqiyya.

“Our players are in demand in other leagues all over the world and the good thing is they have their own top league, PSL, to showcase their talent, gain exposure and share dressing rooms (with top players),” Afridi said.

Be it IPL or being in black list, the only thing missing in such statements is acknowledging the fact that their government supports terrorism and they have to stop. You can not cut off heads of Indian soldiers as trophy and then expect to play in IPL and make millions. Instead they just blame others for their trouble.

That is BS-> you cannot reverse engineer something, Pakis should be building SAAB 2000 F16 if you can reverse engineer everything, hell they must be producing 500 Amraams a year.

Chinese can compare and learn, but the Pakis will know nothing from it given their Industrial capability.

What he meant was that the Pakis traded the Tomohawk for some Chinese CM's a.k.a Babur CM's which are based on Ukrainian CM, while the Chinese can learn some chartertics of that version of Tomohawk no way without access to American Machinery and data they can make an exact replica.

But I am surprised how far Paki BS goes, Pakis always created victory out Sovereignty violations and many even on BRF believe it.

The Imperial Overreach of China’s Belt and Road Initiative
Xi Jinping’s signature foreign project is poorly defined, badly mismanaged and visibly failing

Pundits often describe today’s China as uber-strategic, seeing its every move as carefully coordinated, guided by history and focused on the long run. But Chinese leader Xi Jinping’s signature foreign-policy vision, the Belt and Road Initiative, is actually poorly defined and horribly mismanaged. As China pushes ahead with this colossal infrastructure-building spree, it is following in the footsteps of past empires and seriously overreaching.
...........

In the first place, Chinese officials will likely come to regret making Pakistan, in their words, the “flagship” of the Belt and Road Initiative, with some 40 projects, valued at an estimated $25 billion, under way there. Beijing believes that it can succeed in transforming the country after Washington has struggled for decades there. But it shouldn’t count on it.

............over the years, the U.S. has provided Pakistan with more than $80 billion in aid. Last year, the International Monetary Fund bailed out Pakistan for the 22nd time. If neighboring Afghanistan is the graveyard of empires, Pakistan is the black hole of foreign assistance.

..........
In its zeal to build, China has backed projects that the U.S. wisely avoided long ago. In 1973, Pakistan asked the U.S. to build a port in Baluchistan, its largest and least-populated region, and offered to provide the U.S. Navy with access to it. “This would probably cost some hundreds of millions of dollars, and the political impact of the project will depend in part on its not being a white elephant,” Henry Kissinger cautioned in a memo that year to President Nixon.

Decades later, China granted Pakistan’s wish and built the port, but very little has arrived at its docks, which remain largely disconnected from urban areas inland. Meanwhile, China’s activities have angered India, which rejects the Belt and Road’s path through territory in the north that Pakistan and India both claim.

ISLAMABAD (Reuters) - Pakistan will ramp up spot buying of liquefied natural gas (LNG) from the international market, seeking up to six cargoes for December, its procurement subsidiary said on its website, as the country prepares for a potentially crippling gas shortage.

December and January see the largest spike in demand for gas in Pakistan, but this year the demand-supply shortfall will be greater on the back of higher consumption and diminishing indigenous supply, authorities believe.

A source in Pakistan LNG Ltd (PLL), which handles LNG imports, told Reuters that six spot cargo purchases for delivery in December would be the most in a single month by the country.

An advertisement by PLL said the country was seeking the cargoes, each of 140,000 cubic metres, in six delivery windows and Nov. 2 is the deadline for submission of bids.

Pakistan has long term LNG agreements in place, including one with Qatar, but has also been active on the spot market since August.

The country has advertised tenders for delivery of two cargoes in August, three in September, two in October and three in November.

In a press conference last week, Pakistan's Minister for Petroleum Nadeem Babar said the country was headed towards a major gas shortfall in December and January, and blamed dwindling indigenous gas supply and rising demand.

He added that there had been a lack of local exploration licenses granted by the previous government, and while new gas discoveries were found, they were small in size. He said his government would advertise more exploration licences this month.

According to a report put out in August by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority increased demand had resulted in natural gas availability constraint.

The main consumer of natural gas was the power sector, which consumed 38%, while the domestic sector was at 22% and fertiliser 16%.

Up to 45% of Pakistan's power sector energy mix is based on natural gas, according to the report, which added: "The demand supply gap during FY2018-19 was 1,440 MMCFD, which is expected to rise to 3,684 MMCFD by FY2024-25 and 5,389 MMCFD by FY2029-30".
