I think it is more like DIG of Indian police. A three star rank.

IGP is the highest rank, so should be equivalent to our DGP.

I used to wonder why J Malhotra is anti Modi.
Here she is openly admitting that she/her family from Gujranwala and still has feelings for that place. (kind of Stockholm syndrome)
And the 'Tiger Force' that Dimran/TSP have created looks like it is like 'Razakars' of Bangladesh
Hope all this hastens the breakup.
And Mr admitting that Establishment is blanking out the Pashtun and Baloch leaders speech

Interesting view of what is happening in Sindh. A very different view, but focusses on Sindhi nationalism and the China factor in the latest revolt by the Sindhi people. Do read.

My jingo friend has been dancing a bhangra saying India will soon take over PoK. I do see some chatter on news networks and have been following along, but taking over the entire PoK and/or CoK seems like a very large undertaking. It will be seen as an invasion by the "international community". Cannot be compared with 370 or RJB as these two are fully internal issues.
The only way I see is if Pak disintegrates, and PoK somehow falls into our lap, but then it also comes with x'000 beards and we don't want them.

New law to give immunity to CPEC Authority from NAB, FIA
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to introduce a new law to replace defunct China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Authority Ordinance, local media reported.

According to sources, Cabinet Committee for Legislation Affairs has approved the proposed draft of the law under which CPEC Authority chairman and other officers will have immunity from investigations of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).

Under the proposed bill, some powers of the CPEC Authority chairman will be curtailed. The post of chief executive officer will be eliminated if the new law is enacted by the government. The bill further says CPEC Authority to report to directly to the prime minister instead of the Ministry of Planning and Development.

It further says CPEC chairman’s authority to form business council should be abolished, adding, the Board of Investment will notify the council.

Surely this thread shows great progress in the 20+ years this forum has been operating.

In the old days, if I remember correctly, people had to be stopped from posting links
from Pak forums. equal equal nonsense pervaded the world

Now it is India.usa.japan.china.......
India may well be in club of India/usa/japan/aus v china

Most of/all off western europe and britain is swamped by Indias neighbours and their ilk....
pak links on a forum is the least of their problems.

It reminds me of a colleague sitting next to me complaining that the flight was boring! :-?

I think the inflection point was Kargil war. Till then TSP was perhaps ahead in per capita. Indian economy had started picking up (since 1991/1993), but TSP was not doing bad growth wise. It still had 4 fathers (USA had not abandoned it yet), ME was tightly joined at the hip (please don't ask me the positions), Afg was still their backyard...though the slide had started.
From 2000-2020, India has TAKEN OFF (6 times GDP growth since 2000) while TSP based on Sanghai stat has grown by 3.4 times. It has lost at least 2 fathers (US and ME) and gained some bat soup drinking new father (the other one Turkey is a teenager pretending to be a father). It is forever in crisis and verge of either failing or declaring bankruptcy.
Now it is a basket case. All SINS have come to catch up with it. Get a pop corn and enjoy the show.

Something is brewing in Paki land, the paki army is in overdrive to massacre poor Balochis and in the NWFP area everyday is a different protest against the military and the Paki government. Bajwa was at the LOC today giving pep talk to the live targets of Indian Army's artillery practice, either their forces are demoralized more than usual or they are waiting for the US elections to start a new misadventure to the heat off at the domestic front. All the tinderbox needs is a good strike of the match..something like a rapid devaluation of their garbage currency, hyperinflation or some real data on how many mango abduls are falling dead due to the pandemic.

Quoting some gems for future reference.
Centre, Sindh face off on police, islands
While addressing the Sindh Assembly on the issue of lodging of a criminal case and arrest of PML-N leader Captain (retd) Muhammad Safdar, the Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah claimed he was threatened that the Sindh government would be overthrown.
Meanwhile, Federal Minister for Information Shibli Faraz said the prime minister was a 'Malang,' for the simplicity with which he dresses and lives in his own house unlike the past rulers with highly sophisticated lifestyles. He said that if put together even ‘10 opposition leaders', they are no match to the prime minister, who was blessed with courage and determination to serve the masses selflessly and with sincere devotion. {The famous paki 1:10 ratio is again on display here}
The minister asserted: “The prime minister is determined to purge Pakistan of the ‘Banarsi Thugs’ who have ganged up to spread anarchy, confusion and destroy the national economy but that would never happen and the prime minister would clean the country of hereditary politicians.”
Speaking on the occasion, the PTI’s MPA Khan Shar said that Sindh was their motherland and that was why he was supporting the resolution. He said that he would support the move to protect the territorial waters of the motherland. He said that he would be pressurised by his party to withdraw his statement but he wouldn’t take back his words as he is a son of the soil.
He said that after the ordinance was made public, the Sindh cabinet declared the islands as the provincial property. He said even if the federal government withdrew the ordinance, it seemed very difficult that talks could be held with them given their obvious malafide stance over this issue.

Time to end the spin
Take one example of how reality is being spun to try and put a little shine on things. On Wednesday, when the rest of the country was still debating the fallout of the Karachi jalsa, the prime minister tweeted the following: “Great news for Pakistan. We are headed in right direction finally. Current Account was in surplus of $73 mn during Sept, bringing surplus for 1st qtr to $792 mn compared to deficit of $1,492 mn during same time last yr. Exports grew 29pc & remittances grew 9pc over previous month.”
This is spin, pure and simple, and there is an easy way to show that. Look at how the data is presented. For the current account balance (which is in surplus) the data is compared to the same period last year. For exports and remittances — the two key elements in the current account — the data is compared to the preceding months. The impression this creates is one of overall improvement.

But let’s invert this presentation for a moment and see what happens. Let’s compare the current account balance to the preceding months and remittances and exports to the same period last year instead and see what happens.
In July, August and September, the three months under discussion, the current account balance was in surplus by $508 million, $211m and $72m respectively. In case you missed the significance, on a month-to-month basis the surplus is actually shrinking, and rather rapidly. Let’s discuss why a little later.

Next up, if you compare exports and remittances in the month of September from the same month last year, you will notice that exports rose this year by $72m, or 3.8 per cent of their value last year. This is not exactly a triumphant increase. Remittances in the month of September saw an increase of $544m from last year, or just above 31pc.
Notice how the shine goes off the numbers if you invert the manner in which they are presented. The current account was helped along by a near collapse in imports during the months of the Covid-19 lockdowns, and now that those are receding, oil prices are regaining their earlier levels, the surplus that was posted in July and August is shrinking.
I have said it in the past and it bears repeating: deficit reduction is not the key here. Of course deficits need to be reduced when an economy has depleted its foreign exchange reserves or blown all its fiscal buffers to the point where its debt levels have hit unsustainable heights. Where exactly that point lies is a subjective judgement though.

There are examples from our very own neighbourhood of countries that have persistently run deficits in their fiscal and current accounts for almost three decades now without depleting their reserves (or at least nowhere near as often as Pakistan has) and without blowing out their fiscal balance sheet. India and Bangladesh stand out as examples :D , as to a lesser extent Sri Lanka and Nepal too.
The reality is that this government is adrift. There is no vision at play, whether for tax reform or on state-owned enterprises. We are told something has been developed for the power sector, but the test of this plan will be their ability to arrest and reduce the circular debt without recourse to tariff hikes.

Reality is asserting itself now, in the data as well as the streets. Time to end the rhetoric.

There is not much substance to this editorial but the title is pointing in the right direction.
Banana republic?
Since a number of days have passed since what is now being called the Karachi incident – the matter of Captain (r) Safdar’s arrest and the events leading to it – and the country is still pretty much in the dark about what really happened, it is up to the Sindh government and the military to get to the bottom of things quickly and make all findings public. Something must also be said about the deafening silence on the part of the federal government. Surely at a time when the most important state institutions were falling all over each other and themselves in trying to explain the strange circumstances that led to the said arrest, the centre did itself no favours by distancing itself from the whole affair.

It was the Indian Civil Service that kept Pak going in the early years

ARUN BHATNAGAR
Updated : January 14, 2016, 2:53 PM

An overriding majority of the top administrators in the British Raj and, subsequently, in (undivided) Pakistan and India had their origins in the Indian Civil Service (ICS). They were the elitist of the elite, especially the European component. Over the years, the Service has, as a whole, received detailed, indeed exclusive, attention from modern historians and students of public affairs alike.
On the Indian side of the Radcliffe Line, the ICS (once described by Pandit Motilal Nehru as “the greatest of the services in the world…”) stood formally consigned to the archives with the retirement of N.K. Mukarji as Cabinet Secretary in March 1980.
Mukarji topped the last intake of the ICS in 1943; his fellow-recruits included three Muslims: Aftab Ghulam Nabi (A.G.N.) Kazi, Agha Shahi and Mian Riazuddin Ahmed, who, like most of the Muslim ICS, opted for Pakistan in 1947. Kazi was born in Sindh and commenced his innings in the ICS in Bihar and Orissa; his career of over half a century made him the longest serving civil servant in Pakistan.
Hailing from Mysore, Agha Shahi was connected with the family of the illustrious diwan, Sir Mirza Ismail. He had an exceedingly impressive academic record, having enrolled at the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore. Alongside his older brother, Agha Hilaly (ICS, 1936) who was High Commissioner to India in the early 1960s, he was a pillar of Pakistan’s foreign service establishment, serving as the Foreign Secretary (1973-77) and Foreign Minister (1978-82). The brothers were diplomats and public servants of high calibre and acumen.
In the colonial state, the administration, from the all-powerful Governor down to the secretariat officials, as well as the administrators in the districts, each ruling over a million people or more, was largely British. Even the higher courts, including the High Courts, were manned by ICS men. In later years, four Chief Justices of the Supreme Court of Pakistan were from the ICS, namely, Muhammad Shahabuddin (1960), A.R. Cornelius (1960-68), S.A. Rahman (1968) and Sheikh Anwarul Haq (1977-81), while Kailas Nath Wanchoo (ICS, United Provinces, 1926) was the Chief Justice of India in 1967-68.
The absolute rule of the mandarins was untrammelled by responsibility to any elective Indian Assembly and the ICS men could not be removed even by the Viceroy and Governor General, but only by the Secretary of State for India in distant Whitehall, with whom they were under contract. Entry to the “heaven-born” service by competitive examination remained a herculean task till the end. Nonetheless, members of the same family, often brothers, are known to have won their way into the ICS.
Of the three Kripalani brothers hailing from Hyderabad, Sindh, namely, H.K., S.K. and M.K., the eldest became the first Indian Chief Secretary of the erstwhile Bombay province, the second served in the Punjab, among other capacities, as Deputy Commissioner, Jhelum and Financial Commissioner, Colonies; and the third (in the Bengal cadre) was India’s Deputy High Commissioner at Karachi in the aftermath of the Partition. Among those who opted for Pakistan in 1947 were the sons of Nawab Mohammad Ismail Khan of Meerut in the United Provinces (Uttar Pradesh), an architect and founding member of the All India Muslim League and a leading personality in the Khilafat and Pakistan movements, who, in turn, was a grandson of the noted Urdu and Persian poet, Nawab Mustafa Khan Shefta, one of Mirza Ghalib’s closest friends. After the Lucknow session of the Muslim League in 1937, the Nawab’s cap (which was presented by him to the Quaid) came to be known as the “Jinnah cap”.
Nawab Ismail Khan’s elder son, G.A. Madani, joined the ICS in 1937 and went on to establish a formidable reputation in the eastern wing, where an avenue in the Gulshan area of Dhaka was named after him. A younger son, Ikram Ahmed (I.A.) Khan followed suit in the ICS in 1939, was District Magistrate, Murshidabad in 1947 and is well remembered for his involvement in hockey and cricket in Pakistan.
On the other hand, the brothers Hifazat Hussain, a personal friend of E.M. Forster, and Wajahat Hussain elected to work in India. Sahibzada Khurshid Ahmed Khan, Chief Commissioner, Delhi in 1947 and son of a co-founder of the AMU, Syed Hasan Zaheer (son of Sir Wazir Hasan who was president of the Muslim League in 1936), B.F.H.B. Tyabji (of the family of the first Muslim president of the Congress, a Sulaimani Bohra), M. Azim Hussain (son of Sir Fazle Hussain) and Manzoor Alam Quraishi also chose to serve in India, while Cornelius and Samuel Martin Burke (1906-2010), both Indian Christians, opted for Pakistan. The last-named belonged to the 1930 batch and had quit the ICS but was recalled by Jinnah to join the foreign service. Then there was Dr Akhtar Hameed Khan (1914-1999), a son-in-law of Allama Mashriqi, whose particular contribution was the establishment of a comprehensive project for rural development, the Comilla model (1959), which earned him the Ramon Magsaysay Award. Rajeshwar Dayal (ICS, 1932) who was appointed High Commissioner of India to Pakistan in November 1958, and his brother, Harishwar Dayal (ICS, 1936) deserve mention. The former, who was seconded to the Foreign Service, had, in an earlier spell, as the District Magistrate at Mathura (UP) developed a good rapport with Lt Col Muhammed Ayub Khan (later President of Pakistan), who was at the same station. The head of state did not pull rank when he received his old friend’s credentials as high commissioner, “all protocol forgotten and smiling profusely”. Harishwar Dayal was allotted to what was known in British days as the Foreign and Political Service; when he died suddenly in May 1964, Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru praised him as a “jewel” of a man who was “an ornament of the service which he adorned”. A few days later, Jawaharlal Nehru himself passed away. Prof P. Samuels Lall, a widely respected teacher of mathematics and astronomy at the Forman Christian College, Lahore in the pre-1947 era, had two sons in the ICS: Arthur Lall (Punjab, 1936), who ably represented India at the United Nations and wrote The House at Adampur, on the family history; and John Lall (UP, 1937), who authored an extremely well researched account of the life and times of Begum Samru. They claimed descent from a distinguished ancestor, Chandu Lal, who migrated from Delhi to Lahore, post-1857. It may be recalled that the movement of the Muslim ICS towards alignment with the Muslim League and the demand for Pakistan developed gradually. While, on the whole, the Muslim ICS had never been pro-Congress, neither were they predominantly pro-Muslim League until 1945-46, when politics in the sub-continent polarised sharply. By the end of 1946, most ICS Indians in the Central government were either pro-Congress or pro-Muslim League.
At Partition, three of the four provincial governors in Pakistan were ICS Europeans: Sir Francis Mudie (West Punjab), Sir Frederick Bourne (East Bengal) and Sir George Cunningham (NWFP). In 1950, seven of the top civilians in Pakistan were still European.
The 90-odd ICS officers (including several Europeans) who went on to serve in independent Pakistan are credited with providing an administrative structure which contributed to stability and kept things going in the early years; they have equally attracted considerable criticism for opportunistically forging alliances with the military establishment and, in the process, undermining the emergence of a durable democratic set up. Among their ranks were outstanding civil servants like Akhter Husain (born in Burhanpur, Central Provinces, he was Chief Secretary in the undivided Punjab in 1946-47 and later Governor of West Pakistan) and M.M. Ahmed, who entered the ICS in 1939 and was, at one stage of his career, arguably the most influential bureaucrat in Pakistan.
Many of the Muslim ICS were from northern India or from the Bengal cadre and they formed the core of a new Central service, which, in due course, became the Civil Service of Pakistan (CSP).
In a recent issue of the New Yorker, the acclaimed Pakistani-American author, Daniyal Mueenuddin, the son of Ghulam Mueenuddin (ICS, Punjab, 1930) writes about his father: “If I am nostalgic for my father’s youth in the districts…it is as much for his light-hearted pastimes as for his administrative labors. In Pakistan today, rich and poor live under threat of violence… As a district officer, he roamed uninhabited wastes alone, indulging a passion for riding cross-country…”
It is interesting to note that, many years later, a former ICS man, Jalaluddin Abdur (J.A.) Rahim, the son of Justice Sir Abdur Rahim, became the first Secretary-General of the Pakistan People’s Party.
Arun Bhatnagar entered the Indian Administrative Service in 1966 and retired as Secretary, Govt. of India bhatnagar66@gmail.com

Paxtan to remain in the Grey List.
https://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/wor ... 830806.cms
Is this sufficient or should it have been pushed into the Black list.
Abduls might claim victory that despite Indian instigations Chin has protected them from Black list!!
Remaining on Grey List for such a long time has not had much effect on the Napaks
Also a technical question: How long can FATF keep a country in a particular list
Is their a time list or can it go on ad nauseum!!

Even if it is proven in black and white that pakistan did terrorist financing or laundered money for criminals through its banks it cannot be put in black list as long as it has 3 votes in its favour and it has the support of China, Turkey and Malaysia to ensure this. Black listing of Pakistan is simply not going to happen. In the past US/Western countries could pressure countries to vote according to their viewpoint. Here china and Turkey are impervious to any western pressure and only Malaysia can be influenced. With Mahatir gone this should not be so difficult to do.

In any case Pakistan should not be allowed to cook a snook at the rest of the world due to the continued support of 3 rogue countries. World Bank/IMF and the donor countries can counter this by making the black list penalties imposable on grey listed countries too.

FIA arrests ‘RAW sleeper cell member’ in Karachi
KARACHI: The Counter-Terrorism Wing of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) arrested a worker of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London (MQM-L) for allegedly having links with Indian spy agency, Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), The News reported on Saturday.

According to a spokesperson for the FIA, the officials conducted a raid in Karachi’s Gulistan-e-Jauhar to unearth a terror network and arrested a suspect, Abdul Jabbar, alias Zafar Tension.

“The suspect is an expert in bomb-making and using modern sophisticated weapons,” the spokesperson claimed, adding that Jabbar was an employee of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KSWB) and had visited India four times for militancy training.

As per details from the FIA, the suspect was a member of the Muttahida Quami Movement-London (MQM-L) and part of a RAW sleeper cell in Karachi.

The suspect was involved in attacks on MQM-Haqiqi leader Afaq Ahmed and other political activists and received instructions from Siddiqui in India and had also gone to jail on two occasions, claimed the FIA.

He allegedly received funds from a man, Mehmood Siddiqui, through hawala, which were used in terror financing and target killings.

About a dozen MQM-L men allegedly linked with RAW have been arrested in recent months in Karachi.

Turkish naval ship to be sledged in Pakistan
The third Turkish anti-submarine class ship for Pakistan will be sledged Sunday, Turkey’s National Defense Ministry announced on Saturday.

Turkey's Defense Minister Hulusi Akar will attend a ceremony in Karachi, according to a statement.

It said constructions of two corvettes in Turkey and two in Pakistan will continue as part of Turkey’s national warship MILGEM project.

Despite the novel coronavirus, the first ship is slated to be delivered to Pakistan in 2023 in line with its schedule.

The Pakistan Navy signed a contract with Turkey’s military factory and shipyard corporation, ASFAT, in July 2018 to acquire four MILGEM-class ships.

Pakistan planning to gift 2 Sindh islands to China on a platter, here's why.

Imran Khan's government is trying to unilaterally take over the islands of Buddhoo and Bundal belonging to Sindh on demand of the Chinese government, without taking consent of the people of Sindh or its government.

Though the apparent explanation for such an unethical move of the federal government could be Pakistan's hunger for funds, the actual motive lies behind China's interest in strengthening its footholds in the Arabian Sea through a China-Pakistan maritime collaboration.

Imran Khan had expressed a desire for the development of various islands along the coast of Sindh and Balochistan during his last year's visit to China.

Sensing the military benefits of having a foothold in the area, China quickly agreed to carry out feasibility studies of developing at least 8 islands.

In line with China's time tested policy of gradual advancement, it has now put forth its demand for two islands for now. Most of the preliminary background works related to the development of these islands have been done by Chinese engineers, who were working on various projects associated with Gwadar and Karachi Shipyard.

"If the work at Karachi and Gwadar continues at the current pace, the world will be seeing Chinese Submarine bases in the Arabian Sea during the next 3-4 years. The two islands Buddhoo and Bundal will be extensions of Karachi and Gwadar," a source aware of these developments told Zee News.

The involvement of Chinese engineers working on Gwadar and Karachi Shipyard in preparing a preliminary development plan of these islands is clear evidence of that.

A presidential ordinance to form PIDA (Pakistan Island Development Authority) is also aimed precisely for solving the very purpose of Chinese.
It is very much likely that the PIDA will be headed by some very high ranked military office
r. The aim would be to suppress any local resistance, as it would be a natural reaction of Sindh people towards such encroachment of their resources and that too for handing over the same to China on a platter.

Sindh government and leaders as well as several Baloch parties have been protesting against the decision and are keen on fighting a legal battle on the grounds of Article 172 and the 18th constitutional amendment. While Article 172 of the Pakistani constitution provides rightful ownership of the property falling in a province to the provincial government, the 18th amendment prohibits the President from making unilateral decisions by turning Pakistan from a Presidential state to a parliamentary republic.

However, it is highly unlikely that these protests or the legal fight would do any justice to the people of Sindh whose property is being encroached, as everyone has witnessed Imran Khan's acerbic style of leadership and single-minded resolve to use coercion to silence any voice opposing him.

With his political ineptitude, it certainly would be hard for him to understand that snatching the two islands from the people of Sindh and handing them cover to China would not do any good to Pakistan.

The funds Imran Khan is expecting from China in return, in form of developmental assistance, would eventually increase the burden of loans on common people.

Moreover, if he is expecting that Pakistan would have any controlling stake in the so-called China-Pakistan maritime collaboration in these islands, he certainly is unrealistically optimistic as everyone is aware of the unilateral nature of Chinese collaborations.

One should also know that the two islands are just the beginning. It would be followed by several territorial concessions in Sindh and Balochistan.

It is now all up to the people of Sindh whether they want to forego their property for someone else's interests. There would be brutal suppression from Imran Khan's government and the military establishment of Pakistan if the common people would decide upon defending their property. False charges would be levied and arrests would follow.

Perhaps the international community would take cognizance in time and lend a helping hand against China's expansionism.

Three perish in Quetta bomb blast
QUETTA: A bomb blast ripped through a market in the Hazarganji area of Quetta on Sunday, claiming the lives of three people and injuring seven others, the same day when the opposition parties staged their rally in the provincial capital amid a terror threat issued by the authorities.

However, the site of the blast was around 35 to 40 minutes’ drive away from Ayub Stadium where the opposition alliance, the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), held its power show.{Is this a warning for the opposition?}
Police said the explosion was caused by an improvised explosive device (IED) attached to a motorcycle. The people injured in the attack were shifted to a nearby hospital. A large contingent of security personnel cordoned off the area. No group has claimed responsibility for the attack so far.

The National Counter Terrorism Authority (Nacta) had warned that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), in connivance with HIAs, planned to carry out large-scale terrorist activities in Quetta, targeting political and religious leadership. {They were warned by the security establishment.. hmm}

The Balochistan government later appealed to the PDM leadership to put off their rally in the wake of the security threat.

However, the opposition leaders decided to proceed with their power show.

"A Paki is what a Paki does" has been the conventional wisdom on BRF for years now. Meet Azad , a pakistani origin "Swedish immigrant" in NYC (so a double refugee ? ) who was dumb enough to be filmed while throwing eggs on "Jews for Trump" rally yesterday.

They are chanting 'Free Balochistan' in PDM public meetings now.
'India, Israel, PDM are a triangle': Proclaimed offenders, Banarsi thugs speaking enemy’s language, says govt
ISLAMABAD: Information and Broadcasting Minister Senator Shibli Faraz on Sunday strongly condemned the chant of ‘free Balochistan’ in the public meeting of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), saying the anti-government alliance was reflective of the anti-state elements.

Speaking at a news conference, the minister pointed out that India, Israel and PDM was a triangle as one of the alliance members Shah Awais Noorani raised the slogan of ‘Free Balochistan’ from the PDM stage in Quetta. The PDM narrative, he noted, was supportive of the elements hostile to Pakistan. He called India, Israel and PDM new ‘axis of evil’ to trigger unrest in the country.

Several dead in blast at religious school in Pakistan’s Peshawar
Explosion in the northwestern city’s mosque which also serves as a religious school kills seven people and wounds at least 83 others.
By Asad Hashim, 27 Oct 2020

Islamabad, Pakistan – An explosion at a religious school in the northwestern Pakistani city of Peshawar has killed at least seven people and wounded 83 others, police and health officials say. The blast occurred at the Speen Jamaat mosque, which also serves as a religious school for the local community in the city’s Dir Colony area, at 8:30am local time (3:30 GMT) on Tuesday, a police official told Al Jazeera shortly after the blast.
“[Students] were reading the Quran here, that is when the explosion occurred,” Peshawar police chief Muhammad Ali Khan told reporters near the scene. “The initial investigation shows […] that five to six kilogrammes [11-13 pounds] of explosive material was used [and] that someone came here and left a bag of explosives.” It was not immediately clear how many children were among those killed or wounded, as the students gathered at the school included many who were adults. Speaking to local television station Geo News, the provincial police’s bomb disposal unit chief Shafqat Malik said the device was sophisticated in design and involved a timed detonation. “The forensic evidence that we have picked up, shows that it was about 5kg [11 pounds] of explosives and it was a timed device,” said Malik.

There is method to the madness. Nursery always is the place where it starts. They know it takes several years to create a mons-turd out of human children. And equally difficult to get the ring masters fit for the job. So, if one section wants to reduce the influence of rival, they will spoil the nursery. As, it is time-consuming and difficult to replace. Add to that, the culture where breeding is important, not good parenting, kids are just expendable miscellaneous commodity.

The sophisticated way of the same is when certain ideology targets education system , public information etc. to peddle a distorted narrative over few generation to create a desired discourse. - e.g. Aman-ki-Tamasha / designer history / news about "Poor head masters son's"...
