Admission of state sponsored terrorism by Pakistani authorities

see this Der Spigel Interview where Musharraf admits to that.

On 7th Nov in TimesNow Channel, Tasneem Noorani, a former Secretary of the Pakistani Interior Ministry, openly said that.

Kiyani called the Haqqanis as strategic assets.

In Dec. 2008, President Zardari himself admitted to ISI helping LeT. He said,"The links between the Inter-Services Intelligence Agency and the LeT were developed in the old days when dictators used to run the country. After the 9/11 terror attacks in the US, things have changed to a great extent"

In an address to bureaucrats in July 2009, President Zardari said: "Militants and extremists were deliberately created and nurtured as a policy to achieve some short-term tactical objectives. Let us be truthful to ourselves and make a candid admission of the realities. The terrorists of today were the heroes of yesteryears until 9/11 occurred and they began to haunt us as well"

In Nov. 2009, Prime Minister Gilani admitted to the support for terrorism by Musharraf as "running with the hares and hunting with the hounds".

When Bush warned the Pakistanis in August 2008 of their support to Al Qaeda, Afrasiab Khattak, President of Awami National Party (ANP) said this: "The question is why it has taken the Americans so long to see what the ISI is doing. We’ve been telling them for years but they wouldn’t buy it.". See here.

In an interview to the BBC as far back as on Feb. 13, 1994, Benazir Bhutto admitted how she handed over to Rajiv Gandhi the complete list of Sikh activists colluding with the ISI in terrorism in the Punjab. Later, Nawaz Sharif described this interview as a faux pas.

Apart from these, of course, numerous Pakistani commentators, analysts, and editors have openly admitted to terror as a state policy.

Why Did Pakistan's Spy Chief Make a Secret Trip to China?

Pasha's China trip has been interpreted by some as a tacit act of defiance—a reminder to his American counterparts that the Pakistanis can always look east to their “all-weather” friend across the Himalayas rather than bend the knee to the will of the U.S.

But it also may be a sign of China's growing disquiet with Pakistan. Another top-ranking Pakistani military officer, Lt. Gen Wahid Arshad, had already conducted a considerable tour of China just weeks ago in a bid to improve ties. A few analysts have suggested that Pasha's trip — couched in vague terms about building a “broad-based strategic dialogue” — may have been less a visit and more of a summons.

Chinese officials claimed the attacks in Kashgar were authored by the shadowy East Turkestan Islamic Movement, a jihadist organization of mostly ethnic Uighurs, a Turkic Muslim minority that comprises the majority in the far-western Chinese region of Xinjiang. China routinely invokes the specter of the terrorist threat when cracking down on dissent in the restive region. Yet disturbances there tend to be triggered more often by social discontent — many Uighurs chafe at state policies they deem discriminatory and marginalizing — than militant connivance. Pasha's presence in Beijing may mark Beijing's continued efforts to root out Uighur dissidents and sympathizers beyond China's borders, as it has already done in Kazakhstan.

Pakistani who murdered Indian colleague to avoid returning to Pakistan is jailed in Dubai
https://www.thenational.ae/uae/courts/m ... d-1.936301
A construction worker who murdered his colleague to avoid returning to his home country has been sentenced to life in prison by Dubai Criminal Court. On February 26, the Pakistani accused, 27, jumped onto his napping Indian colleague, at a construction site in Nad Al Hamar, and strangled him with his scarf. Workers nearby tried to stop the accused and called police, who arrived to find the attacker restrained by his colleagues.

“We screamed at him and ran towards him, but by the time we got there, the victim’s face was bloated and he was bleeding from the nose,” said one Egyptian worker. The victim died in an ambulance on the way to hospital. The workers told police that, to their knowledge, the two men had not previously argued. During questioning, the accused told police he killed the man so he would be jailed rather than return to his home country. “He also told me that he specifically picked this victim because he was old and would not resist," the policeman said. The accused told investigators that his brother in Pakistan had received naked pictures of him from a man who was blackmailing him, leaving him ashamed to return to the country. At Dubai Criminal Court, the man admitted to a charge of premeditated murder. On Monday, he was sentenced to life in prison to be followed by deportation.

I had not heard that India directly linked the 9/11/2001 attack to TSP (said "Abbotabad" but we can hear "Islamabad"). Interesting to see the two swine sitting there gawking like.. swine. The fat guy bears a distinct resemblance to that gentle animal, but there the resemblance ends.

Ideas such as the 9/11 trace and "Pakistan is the Global Epicenter of Terrorism" (jem r u reading, hain?) have become part of the Official Record of the United Nations. A life well spent.

Pakistan accused of cover-up over fresh polio outbreak
Source claims government plans secret vaccinations after 12 children fall prey to disease
Hannah Ellis-Petersen south Asia correspondent and a reporter
Officials in Pakistan have been accused of covering up an outbreak of the most dangerous strain of polio and planning a covert vaccination programme to contain the disease.
According to a source in Pakistan’s polio eradication programme and documentation seen by the Guardian, a dozen children have been infected with the P2 strain of polio, which causes paralysis and primarily effects those under five.
Dr Malik Safi, coordinator of the national emergency operation centre of the Pakistan polio eradication programme, confirmed the P2 outbreak, but would not give any further comment.
The P2 strain had previously been eliminated from the country. However, the new cases were allegedly kept hidden from the government and from international donors, including the UK’s Department for International Development, under direct instruction from Babar Bin Atta, the prime minister’s focal representative on polio eradication, who was last month forced to resign after he was accused of corruption. DfID, which has donated millions to Pakistan’s polio eradication programme, was later informed of the new cases.
The alleged cases, which have all resulted in paralysis, have been discovered mainly in Diamer district, with one in the capital, Islamabad.

Top Kashmiri leader asks Pakistan to withdraw from peace pacts with India
Syed Ali Shah Geelani urges Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan to respond to India's "annexation" of disputed Kashmir by dissolving Tashkent, Shimla and Lahore agreements, and "re-designation" of de facto border to "ceasefire line."

Islamabad must withdraw "from all aspects" of several peace accords with India and re-designate the de facto Kashmir border Line of Control [or LoC] back to ceasefire line, a top resistance leader in the disputed region urged Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday.
Syed Ali Shah Geelani, a 92-year-old Kashmiri separatist leader incarcerated at home for almost a decade, said, "Since India has unilaterally ended all bilateral agreements, Pakistan should also announce a withdrawal from all aspects of the Tashkent, Shimla and Lahore agreements."
"Pakistan should also re-designate the LoC as the ceasefire line since India has now taken the situation back to the status as existed in 1947-48," Geelani said in a rare letter issued by his faction of All Parties Hurriyet (Freedom) Conference.
"India's announcement on 5th August 2019, to forcibly annex the territory of Jammu and Kashmir [India-administered Kashmir] and break up the state is an attempt to physically change its internationally accepted disputed status. This unilateral action is against the UN resolutions that guarantee the people the right to self-determination," he said.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman finalises Plan B of Azadi March

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman approved Plan B of the Azadi March, sources, on Tuesday.

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has sought opinions from provincial chapters regarding the party’s ‘Plan B’ vis-à-vis the ongoing anti-government protest.

Fazl, who chaired a meeting of the party leaders, directed the JUI-F provincial chiefs to brief the party’s central executive committee on Tuesday regarding their preparations and resources to implement the ‘Plan B’, which includes blocking major highways, trade links and shutter down strikes. The JUI-F chief has sought details regarding which road can be completely blocked and in which province, the report claimed.

He also decided that the sit-in underway on Kashmir Highway will continue alongside the implementation of the party’s ‘Plan B’. A delegation led by Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) Chairman Mehmood Khan Achakzai also called on JUI-F chief Fazlur Rehman to discuss the future strategy of the Azadi March.

Speaking to reporters after the meeting, PkMAP leader Usman Kakar said the opposition will make ‘every democratic process’ a part of their anti-government movement. He said the future strategy for the protest will be made public once it is finalised. He also accused the government of not being serious regarding negotiations with the opposition.

The JUI-F chief said that it is mandatory to raise voice whether a Muslim or non-Muslim forcefully comes into power, adding that they have raised voice against a government which forcefully came into power. Fazlur Rehman further asked the Prime Minister Imran Khan to keep sitting on the chair “but this nation doesn’t recognise you as its ruler.”

This is most telling and if this is what the shardalu's think then goodbye to 5-Billion dream of Napaks
For us, Guru Nanak is supreme, but we would rather view him from one of the three binoculars installed at the ‘Darshan Sthall’ rather than spend Rs 20,000 on paying for passports, service fee, travelling, accommodation and other sundry expenses. I have a family of six. This means I will have to pay US $120 upfront which translates into Rs 8,520 at today’s dollar exchange rate. Then I will have to spend money on passports and other things. Why go to Kartarpur when everything at the Golden temple is free,” questioned Harjit Kaur of New Delhi.

Pakistan harbours terrorists 'who try to kill American soldiers': Nikki Haley in new book – PTI

WASHINGTON: Former US Ambassador to the UN Nikki Haley has said that Pakistan harbours terrorists who "go out and try to kill American soldiers."

In her latest book “With All Due Respect: Defending America with Grit and Grace” that hit the stores Tuesday, Indian-American Haley wrote that US President Donald Trump was outraged when she presented to him her finding that despite being one of the largest recipient of American aid, Pakistan not only voted against US at the UN, but also harboured terrorists.

“We give Pakistan more aid than all but a handful of countries. In 2017 the US gave their military almost $1 billion in aid. Pakistan opposes us at the UN a full 76 percent of the time. What's worse, Pakistan harbours terrorists who go out and try to kill our American soldiers, ” Haley wrote in her latest book.

“I brought these findings and others to President Trump. He was outraged. Soon after, he asked Congress to pass legislation ensuring that US foreign aid only goes to promote US interests and US friends, ” the former top American diplomat said.

Humanitarian assistance will always be a priority for the United States, she said, adding that the US will always be generous when it comes to saving lives and alleviating suffering.

“That's who we are as people. But we should not be the country of mindless handouts. Our focus should be on helping countries that want our help trying to stand on their own two feet, moving from humanitarian assistance to self-reliance. The worst of all possible outcomes is to create permanent reliance on our generosity while bringing countries no closer to supporting our interests, ” Haley said.

She said her two years as US ambassador to the UN took her to places where values of human rights and freedom of expression, religion and press does not exist, even as an ideal.

“There is no freedom of speech to appeal to for Venezuelans or Cubans. There was no freedom of religion in Pakistan to protect Asia Bibi when she faced death for the “crime” of being a Christian,” she said.

“There is no equal justice under the law for the Uighurs in China, the Rohingya in Burma, or the Yezidis in Syria. We don't need a different America. All of us need to show less entitlement and more gratitude for the universal principles that have made our nation great and will make it greater in the future, ” Haley said.

https://www.dawn.com/news/1516290
Three soldiers of the Pakistan Army were martyred in an improvised explosive device (IED) blast in North Waziristan tribal district, the military's media wing said on Tuesday evening.

The martyred soldiers were a part of the army's patrolling team. One other soldier was also injured when the IED went off, the ISPR statement said

The site where the blast took place was cordoned off and a search operation was started in the area.

The martyred soldiers were identified by the ISPR as Sepoy Sajid, Sepoy Riyasat and Sepoy Babar.

Indo-UK News & Discussions- June 2017 Thread

Kashmir: Labour shifts policy after backlash by Indian-heritage voters - Patrick Wintour Diplomatic editor

Move comes after some Indian groups in UK urged supporters to vote Conservative

Labour has responded to a backlash among voters of Indian heritage in the UK by shifting its stance on the Kashmir dispute and insisting it is a bilateral matter between India and Pakistan in which Labour will not interfere.

The clarification has been made in a letter sent by the Labour party chairman, Ian Lavery, in which he admits an emergency motion on Kashmir passed by Labour at its annual conference had caused offence to some British Indians and India itself.

The motion said there was a humanitarian crisis in the disputed territory and that the people of Kashmir should be given the right of self-determination. It also called for international monitors to be allowed into the region.

The motion has led some Indian groups in the UK to call on their community to vote Conservative.

More than 100 Indian groups wrote to Jeremy Corbyn in protest, and more recently the criticism of Labour has spread to social media. There have also been complaints that only one candidate of Indian heritage has been selected in a safe Labour seat, and none in a target seat.

In his letter Lavery promises “the Labour party will not take a pro-Indian or pro-Pakistan stance on Kashmir”.

The latest controversy follows India’s decision in August to revoke the special status of Indian-administered Jammu and Kashmir, bringing it under direct rule from Delhi.

India and Pakistan both claim Kashmir, but control only parts of it.

Since August political activity in Indian-administered Kashmir has been repressed, journalists have been refused free access, and NGOs have reported human rights abuses, claims denied by India.

The former UK national security adviser Mark Lyall Grant has predicted rising extremism in the UK unless the issue is settled.

Lyall Grant told a meeting at the security thinktank Chatham House, organised by strategic advisory firm CTD Advisors, that India’s decision to revoke Kashmir’s special status was likely to lead to greater extremism in the region. He said the temptation for the Pakistan intelligence services would be once again to support cross-border militancy, even if the Pakistan civilian authorities opposed such a move.

He said greater extremism in Kashmir would have a direct impact on the UK, adding that 60-70% of British Pakistanis had origins in the Mirpur district in Kashmir. “Therefore there is a risk of radicalisation in this country of British Kashmiris. We all know that diasporas tend to be more radical than communities left behind and I do not see why this should be any different.”

In his letter Lavery wrote: “We are adamant that the deeply felt and genuinely held differences on the issue of Kashmir must not be allowed to divide communities against each other here in the UK.

“Kashmir is a bilateral matter for India and Pakistan to resolve together by means of a peaceful solution, which protects the human rights of the Kashmiri people and respects their right to have a say in their own future.”

Attention will now turn to how Labour words its election manifesto on this issue.

In a sign of the controversy the issue creates inside Labour, the former foreign secretary Jack Straw called on Pakistan to withdraw its claim to Kashmir. Speaking at the same Chatham House event as Lyall Grant, Straw said he was “extremely sympathetic” to the plight of Muslim people in Jammu and Kashmir, and said the actions of India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi, in revoking the state’s special status were “outrageous, preposterous, a complete breach of human rights and without any strategy attached”.

But he continued: “The thing I am clearest about is the way in which the whole of Pakistan’s politics and economics has become distorted in this vain search or attempt to redraw the boundaries of Kashmir and to take Jammu Kashmir into the Pakistan Republic.

“That is completely unobtainable, impossible, but that goal has led to Pakistan sponsoring terrorism across the line of control – without any question, we all know that – and it has also led to a bloated defence spending and disproportionate power to the defence forces of Pakistan.”

He said Pakistan needed to reflect on why its economy had not grown at the same rate as India’s, adding that Pakistan’s state sponsoring of terrorism reduced the country’s diplomatic traction.

He added: “If the ISI [Pakistan’s intelligence services] think the answer to the situation is a bit more terrorism they will be gravely mistaken.”

Under the new arrangement, Jammu and Kashmir is designated one territory, and Ladakh, which borders China, is separate. Almost 98% of the state’s population will be in the territory of Jammu and Kashmir, comprising two regions – the Muslim-majority Kashmir valley, which has about 8 million people, and the Hindu-majority Jammu, which has about 6 million.

Another figures from this <link>

Barely three days after the opening of the Kartarpur Corridor, only 700 Indian pilgrims crossed over to Pakistan to visit Darbar Sahib gurdwara on Tuesday even though Pakistani authorities waived a $20 service fee and doubled the number of pilgrims who can use the facility on the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak.

Indian officials cited the online registration process and the requirement of passports to register as two major reasons for the low footfall for the corridor, which gives Indians visa-free access to the gurdwara built at the spot when the founder of Sikhism spent the last 18 years of his life.

On Sunday and Monday, as few as 250 and 122 Indian pilgrims went to Kartarpur through the corridor that was thrown open on November 9. Thousands of pilgrims from India and other country had attended the inauguration ceremony in Pakistan that was addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

On Tuesday, more than 40,000 devotees, who paid obeisance at the Gurdwara Chola Sahib and Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Dera Baba Nanak had a glimpse of the Kartarpur gurdwara from the ‘darshan asthan’, a raised platform near the zero line, with binoculars installed by the Border Security Force (BSF)...
Most of them had no clarity about the documents required to cross over to Pakistan through the corridor.

“This is the first time when 40,000 devotees reached here on Parkash Purab. Earlier, nearly 8,000 to 9,000 devotees would pay obeisance on the occasion. This happened due to the opening of the corridor,” said Dera Baba Nanak municipal council president Parmeet Singh Bedi.

“Most of the devotees wanted to cross over with their Aadhaar cards. Many had even brought their passports along but were not aware about the online registration process. So they had to return after paying obeisance from the ‘darshan asthan’,” Bedi said.

MB Sabharwal, a 72-year-old resident of Jalandhar, said: “We learnt through the media that only the Aadhaar card is required to go to Kartarpur. My family was not allowed by security agencies, who said passports and online registration are a must. Like me, thousands of people are being harassed as they are not aware about the procedure.”
Gurmukh Singh of Fazilka said, “I and my family members wanted to pay obeisance at Kartarpur Sahib on the auspicious occasion. But here we came to know that online registration is required. The government should make people aware about these things so that devotees don’t face problems.”
Dera Baba Nanak sub-divisional magistrate (SDM) Gursimran Singh Dhillon said, “We are appealing to people to apply
online first

Pakistan’s Sikh minority observed the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak on Tuesday, with the main ceremony being held at Gurdwara Janamsthan at Nankana Sahib, the birthplace of Sikhism’s founder.
Among those who attended the event was interior minister Ejaz Shah, who joined large numbers of Sikhs for the celebrations. In his speech, he said the Kartarpur Corridor was a great gift from the Pakistan government to Sikhs, and he hoped it would pave the way for peace and friendship in the region.
Pakistan will continue to look after the shrines of religious minorities, including the Sikh community, “as best as possible”, he said.
Addressing the ceremony, Punjab governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said government is committed to protecting the heritage of religious minorities. He added that the Pakistani people had “opened their hearts for the Kartarpur Corridor”.
In a message on the occasion, Pakistani Punjab’s chief minister Usman Buzdar said opening of the corridor had rejuvenated the Sikh community and this was another historic step by the government to promote religious harmony.
Indian missions around the world organised activities such as Baisakhi celebrations, photo exhibitions, seminars, talks, essay competitions, screening of documentary films on Guru Nanak to mark the birth anniversary. Special events such as planting of saplings, rendition of kirtans based on the ‘Gurbani’, blood donation camps, and setting up chairs in the name of Guru Nanak were also organised.
Missions in countries with a large Sikh diaspora such as the US, the UK, Australia, Canada, Italy, France and Germany will project a video at prominent locations such as Palazzo Senatorio in Rome, the Maritime Museum in Sydney and Nanak Darbar gurdwara in Dubai. The video features prominent teachings of Guru Nanak, his quotes and the three pillars of Sikhism - naam japo, kirat karo and vaṇḍ chakko.

Plague of locusts swoops down on Karachi
In a bid to allay fears and concerns of Karachiites, the minister also came up with a suggestion when he asked the people not to be scared of locusts as “one can cook biryani and karahi of it. Enjoy grasshoppers’ dishes and benefit oneself”.

Growing vegetarianism in Pakistan — a choice or a necessity?
A recent report showed Pakistan to be the second-fastest growing vegetarian country in the world. Analysts say high inflation is impacting the food patterns of many Pakistanis, compelling them to give up eating meat.

On day three 400 visitors to Gurudwara Sahib Kartarpur
This shows the true nature of the Indians. Pakistan did so much for India, built the road, and invested in the infrastructure even put up a langar. Indians started cheating by using binoculars. Tell me: Is asking $20 too much to fund your friendly terrorist? Learn to live and let live. Terrorist bhi bal bacchewala hota hai.

Well isn’t Punjab headed the way of NE states? Pakis would’ve been better served by opening a grand Church on their land. But that would be massive haram of highest order.

So Pakis spent PKR 100 Cr (earmarked in 2019-2020 budget) and got only 1000*$20= PKR 30 Lakh Back so far in fees. Hope Indians were generous with Chadawa at the Hundi.

Expected was 5000 users for 6 days *$20 or PKR 9 Cr in fees only with Indians spending generously in other economic activities as well.

Small hearted Indians showed their true colors to Pakis again.

The impact need to be analyzed in Paki economy dhaga

meanwhile BBC, TIME, NYTimes, WPost and some other rags are joining Aatish Taseer's lies about "stripping of citizenship" ..

It may be helpful to counter those lies by those who have twitter following (or tagging it to BBC in reply etc).. To help here are three images from actual forms: application to convert PIO to OCI - around the same time AT converted his PIO to OCI (around 2016). In old days there was PIO (Person of Indian Origin) which was a glorified 15 year Visa and it was more restricted than OCI (Overseas CITIZEN of India). (Foreign spouses were not eligible for OCI but they were for PIO etc). The original PIO card was obtained around the same time (2000?) as Aatish did. Modi, around 2016 merged PIO and OCI and one can convert PIO to OCI by applying for OCI based on earlier PIO and other documents..

Anyway the form, as one can see below states clearly in several places that Pakistani nationality among father/mother/grandfather/grandmother/spouse type relation disqualifies for OCi, & that applicant signature denotes understanding that any false info on form may revoke OCI.

These images are from a tweet which one can use in reply/RT.. please do that.

Sad to hear that Pakistanis have to eat grass and rice. And they still don't have new clear weapons, other than Polonium-12 imported to kill Nawaz Sharif. Turns out that instead of PO-12 they actually got POO-12.

That's because there was some confusion about the documentation required to go through and as per the news report above, many pilgrims were not even aware of the online registration process.

Also, some of the potential pilgrims may be waiting to see the experiences of those who have paid a visit.

Then of course there is Bakistan.

I expect the numbers to pick up in the coming days.

It never will because

1. There is no concept of pilgrimage in Sikhism.
2. Gurudwaras are constructed by kar sewaks aka volunteers and since Kartarpur Gurudwara was made by a government of Npakistan it is no good. (Even when Akal Takht in Golden Temple was constructed by money donated by Indira Gandhi under nihang Santa Singh., Sikhs pulled down the structure and was re constructed by kar sewaks).
3. Gurudwaras are supposed to be 24x7 open for all people providing shelter, food, etc services by volunteers.
4. This was a very cheap PR exercise by Sidhu and Imran. People know about this.
5. If Sikhs are not given control of the Gurudwara (sewa and sambhal aka service and maintenance) then it is no good as during each ardas around the world Sikhs pray for this )
