Is this what the liberandus kept harping as 'Low Hanging Fruit'
What other things did the previous government sign away.
That was a really close call - just imagine referring to the world's highest battlefield as a 'Low Hanging Fruit'!
Had it been left, rest assured Pakistan Army would have been sitting there the very next day.
Here's what I wrote about it.

Things stayed calm until the late 70s, when Pakistan started granting clearance to mountaineering / trekking expeditions in #Siachen on its own. This was accompanied by 'Cartographic Aggression', wherein Pak maps suddenly started showing their territory ahead of NJ 9842 with a straight, north easterly line joining the point with the Karakoram Pass.

Then in the early 80s, own agencies informed the govt of the day that Pakis were busy shopping for high altitude gear, with an intention to occupy Saltoro Ridge and enforce their claim line. Prime Minister Indira Gandhi ordered the Indian Army to move in, and the army flew in a bunch of tough Kumaonis to occupy strategic heights / passes on the Saltoro Ridge. The timing was perfect, it pre-empted the planned Paki operation by mere weeks.

Pakis moved in soon, to occupy some unheld areas on the Saltoro, and trying to evict the Indian army.

Bloody clashes followed before the positions of both sides stabilized. The Indian army was in possession of almost all strategic and dominating heights on the Saltoro, less one sore spot - The Quaid Post - a post so important that the Pakis named it after their father of the nation, Jinnah. And then they lost it to a diminutive Khalsa, Bana Singh, in 1987!

A certain Brigadier Pervez Musharraf of the SSG was tasked to retake it. He threw in his best, and lost them all. Bana post continues to fly the Tricolour to this day.
The Pakis know that dislodging the Indians from this area is impossible. Thus began the chant of 'global warming', 'pollution' etc, ironically, from a country that gives a damn about its own forest cover. The dream of the previous Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh to convert #Siachen into a 'Mountain of Peace' was replied to by the Army with a single statement - 'Let Pakistan authenticate its and our positions on a map jointly signed by both nations.'

This was a pre-requisite of the army which basically told its govt that once we withdraw, if the Pakis come and sit on the Saltoro, then don't ask us to recapture it again, because we will be unable to do so.
They were right, Kargil had happened less than a decade ago, this DESPITE the LoC mutually agreed to in 1972! Bottomline - You cannot trust Pakistan to stick to its word.
Bottomline: Let us not let the sacrifice of hundreds of our best go waste because someone somewhere would rather trust the Pakis on their word instead of their past record.

Pakistani PM Says Americans 'Martyred' Osama Bin Laden
By Ayaz Gul Tue, 06/23/2020 - 16:36
https://www.voanews.com/south-central-a ... -bin-laden

ISLAMABAD - Pakistan’s Prime Minister Imran Khan has come under severe criticism for saying in a nationally televised speech to the parliament Thursday that al-Qaida chief Osama bin Laden had been “martyred.”

Khan was highlighting foreign policy gains of his nearly two-year-old government, particularly improved ties with the United States under President Donald Trump.

"They (Americans) came to Abbottabad and killed Osama bin Laden, martyred him," Khan said.

Martyrs are greatly revered in Islam for sacrificing their lives generally in the fight to uphold the religion.

Khan’s remarks on Thursday triggered a backlash from opposition lawmakers and social media activists, with some terming them as a “slip of tongue” while others condemned the comments and demanded an apology.

"Imran Khan has fiddled with history, declaring Osama bin Laden as a martyr today," said Khawaja Asif, veteran parliamentarian and former foreign ministry official in his reaction speech to the house.

“Bin Laden brought terrorism to our lands, he was a terrorist through and through and he [premier] calls him shaheed (martyr)?,” Asif said.

Analyst Michael Kugelman at Washington’s Wilson Center tweeted that Khan’s description of bin Laden as a martyr badly undermined Pakistan’s narrative that the country no longer supports terrorists.

“If he just misspoke, one would expect a clarification. It's not a good look, no matter how you slice it,” Kugelman said.

Responding to the criticism, a spokesman for the prime minister issued a clarification, saying that Khan “twice used the word 'killed' for bin Laden.

Khan’s spokesman, Shahbaz Gill, tweeted that an “unwarranted” attempt was being made to make Khan’s remarks controversial unnecessarily.

“PM’s and Pakistan’s commitment against terrorism is unwavering, and our track record in eliminating this menace is better than anyone else in the world,” Gill said.

The U.S. military tracked down bin Laden and his hideout in a place next to Pakistan’s military academy, strengthening long-running allegations that the country’s powerful security institution had not severed ties with terrorists it was fighting as a U.S. ally.

“Whenever I have meeting [with] Donald Trump he always gives us respect and does not ask us to do more. Instead, he requests us for more help in bringing peace to Afghanistan,” Khan asserted.

The dark side of Imran Khan: When he 'sparked' riots in 2005
https://www.theweek.in/news/world/2020/ ... -2005.html
Khan (widely considered to be a military-backed) came to power promising a ‘Naya Pakistan’ (New Pakistan)—a multi-tiered marketing slogan. For the domestic populace, he laid down his ‘Islamic socialist’ vision as something out of a Scandinavian utopia, and promised an end to the rampant corruption in the nation.

‘Naya Pakistan’, and its schemes like Kartarpur corridor and pilgrim visas for Indian Sikhs, was also a soft image geared specifically towards the West. When he became the prime minister, he disavowed all previous support to the Taliban, even when think tanks like Brookings argued that Khan has never opposed “[Taliban] ideology, and [their] attacks on churches, Ahmadi mosques, and other individuals and groups they deemed heretical”. He strictly admonished India for its treatment of minorities, while keeping a guarded silence over forced conversions and rampant discrimination in his backyard. A minister in his cabinet who made bigoted statements against Hindus faced the axe; at the same time, he dropped an economist in his advisory council because the latter belonged to the persecuted Ahmadi sect. Helming a country teetering on the edge of complete financial collapse, he spoke to the West of a clean slate, a clean charge and a fresh beginning.

2005 riots

In April 2005, US magazine Newsweek came out with an inflammatory story that the holy Quran was defiled by security guards at Guantanamo Bay. The magazine reported that, in order to humiliate prisoners, the US security guards flushed a holy Quran down a toilet. The publication soon retracted the story, but not before the damage was done.

According to Morten Storm, Paul Cruickshank and Tim Lister in their book Agent Storm: My Life Inside al-Qaeda, "There were deadly riots in Afghanistan. In Pakistan, opposition politician Imran Khan used the story to undermine the country’s military leader General Pervez Musharraf."

In the Cost of Counterterrorism: Power, Politics, and Liberty, Laura K. Donohue wrote that, in a press conference, Imran Khan held up a copy of the magazine and claimed that Islam was under attack in the name of war on terror. "English and Urdu publications in Pakistan focussed on the issue and Islamists charged Musharraf with colluding against the United States against Islam," Donohue wrote.

Newsweek, in a story acknowledging its error in sourcing, stated that “the spark [of the riots] was lit at Imran Khan’s press conference”.

Pakistan: District magistrate allows Muslim man to keep Hindu girl as wife, girl’s parents say she was kidnapped and forcefully converted to Islam
https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/pakista ... ert-islam/

Hindus in Pakistan, especially girls, are leading a particularly vulnerable life in the country where forced conversion of Hindus into Islam has become a common norm. In Pakistan’s Balochistan province, another Hindu girl, who was missing since June 17, is now found to have married a Muslim man. The girl’s parents have alleged that the man kidnapped their daughter, forcibly converted her to Islam against her wishes and then married her. Legitimising their marriage, the judicial magistrate has allowed the man and the girl to live together.

The Hindu girl named Reshma was missing since June 17. She hails from Garhi Sabhyo area of Sindh province. Her family had been frantically searching her since her disappearance. They suspected that a man named Dil Murad Chandio abducted their daughter and forced her to convert to Islam before marrying her.

Popular Pakistani troll reveals how he makes sure PM Modi doesn’t win any Twitter polls, how anti-India propaganda is organised and furthered
https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/al-jaze ... a-twitter/

In a 25-minute-long documentary titled, “War, Lies, and hashtags: Pakistan’s Twitter Battles”, Al Jazeera documents the life of a Pakistani man, Farhan Virk, who has earned a name for himself in the Twitter community. Despite being a doctor, he identifies himself as a ‘Twitter influencer’ who peddles anti-India propaganda on the platform. Farhan holds the potential to make any hashtag trending on Twitter.

The Al Jazeera documentary also highlights how Twitter warriors can create the mirage of a war, far-fetched from the reality on the ground. Even though there were no ceasefire violations at the Sialkot border, as testified by people living close to the border, netizens from both the countries talked about happy firing along the Line of Control (LoC). “Apparently, Pakistan has occupied 25 Indian check posts,” Farhan was quoted as saying.

Looks like its not just us who are deeply suspicious of pakis coronavirus numbers. Fellow ummah nation UAE made a major announcement today barring paki citizens from traveling to UAE starting today.

And in other news, Vietnam Aviation Authority looks to have finally wised up after learning pakis have been exporting bus drivers as "pilots" ( who knew vietnam hired pakis to fly its planes anyways ?!)
Vietnam’s aviation authority said on Monday it had grounded all Pakistani pilots working for local airlines, amid concern from global regulators that some pilots may have been using “dubious” licences.

The issue of dubious licenses drew global attention after Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan in the National Assembly declared that 150 pilots of the national flag carrier, Pakistan International Airlines, had fake licences.

Last week, the International Air Transport Association (IATA) expressed concern over the "serious lapse in licensing and safety oversight by the aviation regulator".

“The head of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam (CAAV) has ordered a suspension for all Pakistani pilots working for Vietnamese airlines,” the CAAV said in a statement on Monday.

The suspension will be in effect until further notice from CAAV, it said, adding that the authority is coordinating with Pakistani authorities to review the pilots’ profiles.

Vietnam had licensed 27 Pakistani pilots, and 12 of them were still active, while the other 15 pilots’ contracts had expired or were inactive due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the CAAV.

Of the 12 active pilots, 11 were working for budget airlines Vietjet Aviation and one for Jetstar Pacific, a unit of the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines.

Vietnam Airlines and Bamboo Airways were not using any pilots from Pakistan, the CAAV said.

Vietnamese airlines currently have 1,260 pilots, with nearly half of them holding foreign citizenship, according to the CAAV.

UAE stops incoming passengers from Pakistan
Meanwhile, the United Arab Emirates on Sunday said it will not receive passengers coming from Pakistan as of June 29 (today) until a special Covid-19 lab is set up to test them.

The General Civil Aviation Authority said the decision also applies to transit flights originating from Pakistan.

Dubai state carrier Emirates had already said it was temporarily suspending flights from Pakistan, effective June 24 until July 3, after about 30 Pakistanis who arrived in Hong Kong on board an Emirates flight on June 22 tested positive for Covid-19.

The kaajal wearing former paki finance minister Ishaq Dar spent his entire term emptying pakistan's very meager forex trying to keep their worthless rupee within a band against USD. Once the artificial stabilization ended, the PKR promptly collapsed over 60% in the last 3 years making it one of the worst performing currencies in the world. Their economic output gap is so wide that their current account deficit has shrunk massively not because of prudent sound policies but because there is simply no demand nor money for capital goods nor imported consumer goods. The only reason they can purchase whatever little they need from outside is because ummah offers them oil in favorable terms, and China gives them junk trinkets for cheap while pushing their tentacles deeper and deeper into pakistan. Its no wonder that the last 10-12 years we see more pakis than africans and arabs from war torn countries in risking their limbs and lives trying to get to Europe, Canada, Australia etc.

As Balochistan freedom fighters claim responsibility for attack on Pakistan Stock Exchange, Imran khan accuses India of carrying out the attack
Pakistan's Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had referred the terrorists who attacked the stock exchange as 'sleeper cells of India'. MEA of Indian rejected the 'absurd comments' of the Foreign minister of Pakistan.

Imran Khan blamed India for the attack on the Karachi Stock Exchange in Pakistan

A day after Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the attack on the Pakistan Stock exchange in Karachi, the Prime minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan, accused India of carrying attacks in Pakistan.

While speaking in Pakistan’s National Assembly, Imran Khan said that Pakistan has “no doubt” that the terror attack on Pakistan’s Stock Exchange was carried out by India.
PM of Pak , Imran Khan speaking in Parliament today : #KarachiStockExchange att@ck was India’s plan to copy Pak sponsored Mumbai Ter0r atta@ck but we know Tricks of the Trade. pic.twitter.com/e0TmczmciC

— Megh Updates (@MeghUpdates) June 30, 2020
Imran Khan said, “India made a huge plan to de-stabilise Pakistan, they came with a huge arsenal. They planned to enter the Pakistan stock exchange and keep the people under captivity. Just like the one happened in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attack.”

He added, “We have no doubt that this was done by India.” He added that it was a huge win for Pakistan as the agencies had averted a major attack which was planned by India to destabilize Pakistan.

Earlier, Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi had referred the terrorists who attacked the stock exchange as ‘sleeper cells of India’. MEA of Indian rejected the ‘absurd comments’ of the Foreign minister of Pakistan.

MEA Spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said, “India rejects the absurd comments of the Foreign Minister of Pakistan on the terrorist attack in Karachi. Pakistan cannot shift the blame on India for its domestic problems. Unlike Pakistan, India has no hesitation in condemning terrorism anywhere in the world, including in Karachi.”

Pakistan Stock Exchange attack
Four gunmen armed with a huge cache of weapons and explosives attacked the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Monday. Four people had lost their lives in the terror attack. The gunmen launched a grenade attack at the main gate of the busy Karachi Stock Exchange building and then stormed it, firing indiscriminately, killing four security guards and a police officer.

Meanwhile, the Balochistan Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the terror attack on the Pakistan Stock Exchange building. Majeed Brigade, a unit of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), confirmed that all the gunmen were suicide attackers.

Pakistan tried to designate an Indian citizen as global terrorist
This is not the first time Pakistan has tried to malign the image of India by blaming for every incident witnessed by Pakistan. Prior to this, Pakistan tried to frame an Indian citizen as a global terrorist in United nations but faced a major setback after UN’s 1267 committee restricted its efforts to proscribe an Indian national working in Afghanistan as a ‘global terrorist’.

Ever since the Pakistani terrorist and Hizbul Mujahideen chief Maulana Masood Azhar was listed as a global terrorist in 2017, Pakistan has been putting efforts to frame Indian citizens of terrorism on its soil to defame the country at the United Nations Security Council. However, the bluff is often called out by the allies of India repeatedly.

if you assume popularity by number of view remember that Paki establishment takes the lal topi 7th Generation warfare very seriously and is investing heavily in social media. ISPR is buying views and likes like no tomorrow in social media for the voices they want to promote. Plus investing heavily in upcoming social media interns.

Is there any research based on OSINT on death rates in Paki lands due to Cheeni Virus? They are only country that has thrown caution to the wind since March. Wondering if some one has a graph showing death rates pre march and post march that can point to what is actual mortality rate when the virus is given a free run.

This is a bit old new but should be interesting read Death certificates no longer needed for Karachi burials
Karachi AIG Ghulam Nabi Memon has ordered policemen not to ask for death certificate for people who have died of natural causes.
People previously had to approach police stations and get a permit from the SHO to bury their deceased in graveyards.
AIG Memon said on Thursday that the police are not authorised to ask the deceased’s family for a death certificate in order to issue an NOC.

He says the SOPs that the government has issued to prevent the coronavirus from spreading should be followed if the health department or respective deputy commissioner confirms that the deceased was infected with the coronavirus.
Karachi is one of the worst affected cities in the country due to the coronavirus. It has reported 6,870 infections so far.
This is from May 7th so almost 2 months old, this practically means there is no paper trail of how many pakis have lost battle to cheeni virus

They claim to have done 1.3 million tests with around 200k cases and 4300 deaths. More than once i have noticed their daily numbers drop by 20%-30% from the original reporting. Recently there was news that pakis stole some 30+ ventilators donated to Afghanistan, so goes to show the desperate situation there. Then again for a nation as delusional and nutty as Pakistan that has made a virtue out of living with one hand on the suicide button and another on the trigger of a gun pointed to its own head none of this should be new.

EU's air safety agency suspends Pakistan airliners PIA and Vision Air International from flying to Europe for six months over safety concerns
FP Staff July 01, 2020 00:21:32 IST

The European Union Air Safety Agency (EASA) has suspended two Pakistani airliners from flying to the bloc for six months, reports said.

Reuters said that the EASA took the decision due to concerns about the country’s ability to ensure compliance with international aviation standards at all times.

The Pakistan Internatioanl Airlines (PIA) confirmed the suspension on Twitter stating that it is discontinuing its operation to Europe after the European Union's aviation safety agency banned its flights.

In a tweet, the national air carrier of Pakistan, said that the EASA suspension of PIA flights would be effective from 1 July. However, the PIA can appeal against the EASA decision, PTI reported.

The PIA added that its administration was in contact with the EASA to allay their concerns and to take necessary corrective measures along with filing the appeal against the decision.
.
.
As per the report, Khan had said that the air traffic controllers warned three times that the plane was flying too high on its approach to the runway at Karachi’s airport and directed it not to land.

“But the pilot ignored these warnings,” he was quoted as saying.

A preliminary report on the crash showed that the "PIA pilots also ignored automated warnings in the cockpit and failed to lower the landing gear, causing the plane’s engines to hit the runway", the article added.

‘Younis Khan had a knife to my throat’: Grant Flower on being Pakistan’s batting coach.
Grant Flower, who had been Pakistan’s batting coach between 2014 and 2019, said there had been some “tough characters” in the Pakistan dressing room who did not take well to his advice. Speaking on the Following On Cricket Podcast, Flower narrated an incident when Younis Khan disagreed with his batting tips so much that he brought a knife to his throat and Mickey Arthur had to intervene.

“Younis Khan… quite tough to master,” said Flower. “Obviously, a brilliant career. I remember one incident in Brisbane, during the Test, at breakfast I tried to give him a bit of batting advice, not that my career was anywhere near his regarding stats, as he is the highest scorer in Pakistan Test cricket.

“But he didn’t take kindly to my advice and brought a knife to my throat, with Mickey Arthur sitting alongside, who had to intervene. Yeah, it’s been interesting. But that’s part of coaching. It makes it a hell of a journey, and I’ve really enjoyed it. I’ve still got a lot to learn, but I’m very fortunate to be in the position I am.”

The inquiry report revealed that the $1.7 billion power transmission line project of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) was 234% expensive than a similar project in India with better technology.

If you do not invite competitive bid, the Chinese will charge friendship rates and skin you alive.
We need to add to the Pakistan - China friendship of 'Taller than the Himalayas, deeper than the oceans...'
'More shocking than live electricity'.

:rotfl: Thanks, RCase. Will remember to use it appropriately. This is the evil Yindoos' contribution to the otherwise romantic hyperbole frequently used by the two lovers, the Made-for-Each-Other couple, unfortunately to our east & west.

CPEC was poorly thought out boondoggle by the Chinese. So much for the "we plan for next 25 years" myth.

China has a massive overcapacity. It has industries where installed capacity is much more than domestic need. A way to offload this overcapacity is to "loan" money to friendly countries and force the friendly countries to contract to Chinese companies. That way money stays in the house, China makes interest on the money, strategic objectives are fulfilled.

The problem though is that most CPEC power projects in Pakistan is coal fired. Price of solar, for example in Tamil Nadu is cheaper than Coal today. Coal is no longer an efficient way of generating power. This is on the generation side. On the transmission side, lack of open bidding means that whatever costs the Chinese quote, that is the cost.

On top of that China now has investments to protect. GB has to be protected, otherwise all the investment will go down the drain. This is for an economy constantly looking for handouts.

To be honest, I am surprised that China chose to antagonize India. In terms of competition from the west and return on investment, co-opting India into China's camp would have been massively beneficial to China. A couple of decades of peace, followed by free movement of people, capital and technology would ensure Europe and US are no longer the center of the world. I guess Sun Tzu and Confucius omitted that part of strategic thinking.
