The ban on two Malayalam channels seems to have back fired on the BJP big time.
Asianet News, Media One back on air as govt lifts ban
The report reads..Minister of State for External Affairs and BJP leader from Kerala V Muraleedharan said that Asianet News's ban was lifted as they tendered apology while the ban on Media One was lifted in order to ensure equal justice.

Govt backs press freedom: Prakash Javadekar on lifting ban on 2 Malayalam channels
The report reads..Javadekar, while speaking to reporters in Maharashtra’s Pune, said he would look into the matter and issue orders if necessary. He also said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had expressed concern over the issue.

With folks like Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Muraleedharan and Javadekar, the BJP really don't need any more enemies . It is now out in the open that Rajeev Chandrasekhar as a BJP MP (and non-executive chairman for Asianet News) had pulled the strings to get his channel back on air. Now when that is the case, I&B cannot use a different yard stick against Media One.

Net result:-
1. Rajeev Chandrasekhar's want to get his channel back on air gave a pro-Islamic channel like Media One (a Jaamat-E-Islami sponsored channel) to be also back on air that too without losing any money or its prestige. In fact Media One is now openly going around saying that they came back on air without tendering any apology. Which means that their earlier reports were all correct and un-biased.

2. It proves that for a typical Hindu businessman his daily profit is all that matters. Long term perspectives or national goals don't matter. Rajeev Chandrasekhar's Asianet News has its daily operations run by a card-carrying commie (M.G Radhakrishnan s/o P Govinda Pillai) and he just could NOT do any thing about it. This chap is to be the 'owner' of the channel, but was not able to dictate any policy on the channel and its operations. But he was all eager to use his clout to get the ban lifted (so that the money keeps coming in). Compare this with a one-man party leader like M.P Veerendrakumar used Mathrubhumi news paper to spread his political agenda.

3. Prakash Javadekar by siding with the media channels proves that he is clueless on how his ministry works. The show cause notices were issued without his knowledge it seems. And when he says that he would now check up on this, it is only going to demoralise the staff at I&B further. As a minister in charge of I&B, if Javadekar still feels that the main stream media is neutral then GoI should be hounded out even more.

4. With this incident the main stream media is going to be more brazen in spreading its one-sided reports, agenda driven news programs and launch a bigger offensive than the current one.

5. The average BJP sympathiser/bhakth in Kerala will once again have an egg thrown on his face. The media channels will still lampoon and ridicule them. It would be time and again repeated that GoI diktats don't run in the socialist republic of Kerala.

Asianet of old (1990s-2000s) is now split into two different companies. The Asianet channel which damages the society through their soap operas and other junks are now owned by the Star Television group (Rupert Murdoch owned?). The Asianet News channel focuses only on news & current events with special emphasis on uplifting the commies and spewing venom on the BJP & allies. Rajeev Chandrasekhar the BJP MP from Karnataka is the non-executive chair man of this channel. The chair man's power & hold in the channel can be ascertained when we know that it is a commie who runs the day to day show  :rotfl:.

RC is anyways useless , Karnataka politicians can only think about building a villa next to that Bellandur lake, playing with Khata A , Khata B none of them have pedigree to be elevated to national politics.

Sachin, thanks for the details. Javdekar - he's the gift that keeps giving to the BJP. Incredible. I wonder what went through NaMo's thinking when he was appointed to I&B. Javdekar even bragged he did nothing in his earlier role - "didn't change a single textbook".

RC is just the same standard PR businessman-politico. Many like him.

Javadekar is both incompetent and spineless. We need a person with a vision, charisma and skills to propagate their vision and administrative acumen to execute it without unnecessary pr debacles.

There are very few in Modi's cabinet with such skills.

Saar, the issue as I understand it :

Asianet was bought by RC for 100-120 crore in 2006, and sold at a neat profit (200 million USD+) to Star TV.

RC is titular " head" to bypass the 26% FDI on Foreign media companies. He picks up a nice fee in the process. It's business, legal and fair.

He has no control on Editorial content, which is closely negotiated between the Commies and Star TV.

RC is actually very patriotic guy, son of IAF officer. He regularly donates to noble dharmic causes, and has done well in duties as an MP. He regularly pulls up the tardy BBMP in Bangalore, though part of same BJP government.

Commies certainly punch above their weight in Kerela wrt Media Management issues than the Government in center.

( The commies weilded carrot and stick, and negotiated, same as UPA era govt.Present NDA govt. at center is not interested, no one knows why ).

On Shri Javadekar, it is unanimous.
When NDA was in opposition, they cried foul over textbook distortions, historical inaccuracies and Media bias.

When in power, they refuse to act on these issues, and " deeply protect" the minister who doesn't act on it.

These are small irritants however, compared to Article 370, the RJB verdict and TTT bill, much larger and more important issues, where the govt. has done exceedingly well.

Maybe Modi going soft, losing focus?

I don’t think Modi’s ‘getting soft’ here . If you review his record , and in particular focus on his media outreaches during election time, you’ll see a common trend here . He NEVER fights them head on . He’s too smart for that - he knows that’s the jungle equivalent of taking on a pack of hyenas solo. No one does that solo. Instead he starves them, then throws them scraps so they fight each other for it . Or he entirely avoids them and uses a parachuted entity (remember Akshay Kumar) to do something the press will not do. Outside of those periods he generally does not take on media much . He depends on Mann Ki Baat for his outreach, bypassing MSM. Unfortunately BRF does not track MKB at all , and the MSM also ignores it so as not to give him free press there .

Modi knows that the mainstream press is not a factor in him winning elections . He has contested 5 major elections (3 Guj and 2 GE) and he has five landslide wins to show for it - by a long distance the best electoral record of any Indian politician . He’s had MSM solidly against him in every one of those . It’s not just that they’re not partial to him - they’ve heaped outright calumny on him forever.

Given that record, I’m more inclined to believe Modi feels he can make them run and scream and burn all their matches within the first year of his 2nd administration. Of course he may be making a fatal mistake, but on the balance of probabilities I think he’s considered what he’s dealing with and intends to stick to his tried and tested approach .

As for Javadekar, BJP was never strong on bench strength and they’ve been badly crippled by the loss of multiple stalwarts recently, who thankfully had the chance to see BJP win again.

UP 'name & shame' posters: Recovery hoardings unjust, encroach on personal liberty, says Allahabad HC
ALLAHABAD: Terming the action of the state in putting up the posters of alleged CAA Protestors (against whom recovery orders were passed by ADMs) as highly unjust, the Allahabad High Court on Sunday said that the action was an absolute encroachment on personal liberty of individuals.
However, a division bench comprising Chief Justice Govind Mathur and Justice Ramesh Sinha adjourned the matter for 3 pm today, on the request of the state as AG would appear on behalf of the government to assist the court and corrective action to be initiated by that time.
The court, while rising up commented that it hoped that good sense would prevail on the State and it would remove the hoardings before 3 pm and apprise the court about this at the time of hearing.
Taking suo motu cognizance of the matter, the High Court had decided to hear the case on Sunday in spite of it being a holiday. The court of Chief Justice Govind Mathur summoned the district magistrate and divisional police commissioner of Lucknow in this case.
On Thursday, the district administration installed hoardings with photos and addresses of 53 anti-CAA protesters at prominent crossings across the city. The hoardings included pictures of Shia cleric Maulana Saif Abbas, former IPS SR Darapuri and Congress leader Sadaf Jafar, all of whom were named as accused in the violence that swept the state capital on December 19 last year.

Unjust does not appear to mean illegal. Meanings provided include:
“not based on or behaving according to what is morally right and fair.” (OED)
“not fair” / “ not morally right; not fair” (Cambridge)
“If you describe an action, system, or law as unjust, you think that it treats a person or group badly in a way that they do not deserve.” (Collins)

If a protestor’s guilt is established in a court of law, they will be sentenced.

Gurus, do we have an official department or ministry to promote the Hindu religion and culture? I noticed there are so many fake posts on social media, books, and/or online/offline articles stating the wrong history? They are not countered so they reference and point to each other to authenticate their narratives. It is a shame that there are no historians or learned people to counter their propaganda.

Half of the bullshit or uber-seculars read material will disappear if people with proper knowledge counter the articles like

ARTICLE IN THE MOST PROMINENT NEWSPAPER OF CANADA:- TORONTO SUN -
on Abrogation of Art.370 and 35A

(It is bringing Kashmir, to equality with the other Indian States)

A major shift took place in the Indian subcontinent in August 2019 when the Government of India revoked the special status it had conferred on its only Muslim-majority state – the State of Jammu and Kashmir (J&K).

In doing so, India demonstrated a spinal cord of steel, this coming after 1,000 years of Arab, Turkic, Persian and Afghan Islamic invasions, followed by Portuguese, French and British colonization, had reduced it to mere spaghetti.

India today stands as tall as the Himalayas and walks as gracefully as the Bengal tiger, after this bold INTERNAL POLICY DECISION.

As expected, Pakistan invoked its self-styled role as the godfather of India’s Islamists. The country’s military-backed Prime Minister Imran Khan made a barely concealed threat of a nuclear attack unless India revoked its actions taken on its own sovereign territory.

Khan told a joint session of the Pakistan parliament, “if we fight a war till we shed the last drop of our blood, who will win that war? No one will win it and it will have grievous consequences for the entire world,” he thundered. Then, as if to mollify his threat of a worldwide nuclear catastrophe, Khan fooled no one by insisting: “This is not nuclear blackmail.”

Khan then played the race card: “What they (Indian government) did in Kashmir is in accordance with their ideology. They have a racist ideology … ingrained in their ideology that puts Hindus above all other religions and seeks to establish a state that represses all other religious groups.”

India’s actions were taken through a change in two articles of its constitution that won approval in both houses of the country’s parliament.

Can Pakistan tell the world as to why they threaten nuclear war on India, when Pak, which is the country sponsoring state terrorism, a threat to world peace under a military that is carrying out a genocide on its own people in the occupied once independent country of Balochistan?

India has a peculiarity to its history. Unlike the Persian and Egyptian civilizations that crumbled in the face of Islamic expansionism of the 7th and 8th centuries, India’s Hindu society was able to survive despite the total erasure of Hinduism from the 5,000-year-old Indus Valley Civilization by the Arab marauder Muhammad Bin Qasim and later murderous plunderers such as Tamerlane and the Moguls ending with the looting of its riches and resources by the British.

When they finally left in 1947, Britain amputated India’s limbs to partition the ancient land into three, with the Islamic State of Pakistan flanking India on both its eastern and western borders.

On paper, India had won its freedom on August 15, 1947, but on the ground, the ancient plundered land was not free until this August.

Acting to appease the Muslims or in good faith and making India secular to accommodate its Muslim minority, the Hindu leaders (More so by Nehru and his brand of Congress) for decades, distanced themselves from their heritage.

India’s first Education Minister, Maulana Abdul Kalam, who came from a family in Mecca that claimed to be a direct descendant of Prophet Muhammad.
He laid the foundation for the education system in Independent India.

Obviously He, with the PM Nehru's blessings, distorted and erased the Hindu culture and patronized the Muslim Invaders' actions.

In fact, India is the only major civilizational country where you are systematically taught to hate your own heritage and glorify the invaders who came to destroy it. And this absurdity is called “secularism.”

Anyone standing up for the rights of India’s Hindu heritage of its indigenous and aboriginal population, who took pride in their ancient Vedic texts was labeled by the slur of being an “ultra-right Hindu nationalist,” while those who propagated the total Islamization of India under the Arab doctrine of “Ghazwa-e-Hind” and the eradication of every Hindu Temple were free to claim such hate as being their “right” to practice their faith.

But in the words of Bob Dylan, “the times are a-changing.” India has finally won its freedom from the clutches of those who mock its heritage and wish it harm.

Under this new freedom, India’s Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, and Christians will be equals before the law and not hide behind “special status.”

This article is required to be circulated Worldwide.

Let the People World over (including our teenagers in India and abroad), know the real facts.

We, Indians ( including those of Indian origin) should develop a strong sense of Nationalism and have PRIDE in our ancient Culture, traditions and Heritage.

Proud to be an Indian.

What needs to be done is float a commission (yeah I know headed by one of those incestous judges from collegium) for Delhi riots and also setup fast track courts for conducting highly visible trials against all the culprits . Sharjeel Imam, Tahir Hussain , folks who pulled strings on them all need to be on TV everyday .

Rana Kapoor bought a painting from Priyanka Gandhi for Rs. 2 Crore. If this is an “off market” price (i.e. it is not aligned with the market value of the “artist’s” other works), then surely it constitutes an inducement of some variety. Be interesting to know the date of the transaction i.e. while the UPA was in power or outside that period. Mr. Kapoor apparently has purchased 44 other “costly paintings”. Be interesting to know the identity of the other “artists” of the “costly paintings”.

More like an outright bribe. Painting was allegedly an MF Hussain, so would be valuable. So they took some “precautions”. But deal dates from 2010, at the height of UPA power. Payment made by cheque. All done rather blatantly and in your face. Be interesting to know the sellers of these 44 paintings.

Dr.Mahinder Singh
This along with CAA is bound to inspire the west especially europeans to have its own version to allow only persecuted minorities as citizens. The US already has it , matter of time before others take a cue from this pioneering Indian law to prevent getting culturally and religiously decimated.

RC is just the same standard PR businessman-politico. Many like him.
Let's look at this way.

BJP has had some real stalwarts and articulate people head I&B Ministry - Arun Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Ravi Shankar Prasad, Venkaiah Naidu, etc..

What purpose has it served? Achievements such as Mars Mission were portrayed as Half Naked Man coming to Fine Dine Restaurant by Potty Times (New York Times), there were regular front page apologist articles on Islamic Terrorism in Reference to Kashmir but none on Kashmiri Pandits on SlaveColony.com (BBC.com), and the current Delhi riots coverage in Western Media is another scandal.

There are glowing articles on Islamic World across the Western World but Hindu India is portrayed (though not seen anymore) as waste bin. How many articles do we see on India's Technology Industry / Indians in Global Technology Industry or for that matter now on Indian defense. Absolutely none. Common Amrikan, German, Brit will tell how the best things come out of India, Yoga - Vegetarian Diet - Vedic Culture etc., - but one shall never read about them in mainstream media.

PM Modi, in my view, understands this very well. That is why he has an apparent bumbling and soft on outside but lifelong and hardcore BJP man who was jailed in Emergency Days as I&B minister. How many times have we seen channels being banned in India for incendiary, Anti - Hindu content? Prakash Javdekar in my view is the perfect person. This irks the mainstream media even more.

As to Rajeev Chandrasekhar, he was instrumental in setting up Republic TV through AsiaNet. Ornab does sway like a sine wave between negative and positive amplitude, but at least tends to right.

Anyway, Just My Polite View.

If you see the arrest of Rizvis in Delhi riots case amidst speculation about shia identity of Tahir Hussain in light of Khomeini's statements, interesting questions arise. Did shias joined sunnis as force multipliers in riots to spoil Trump's visit on orders from Tehran ?

Two points are important in this context:-

1. Shia protest circuit was active in India after Solemani's assassination by US;

2. Kalbe Sadiq and Kalbe Jawwad have been making fiery statements against CAA. Sadiq's son named in Lucknow riots, Jawwad was first to rush to Delhi.

IIRC correctly that Toronto Sun article is by Tarek Fateh. He regularly writes for the Sun.

It isn't the top newspaper in Canada... More a tabloid rather.. That article and his subsequent tweets were very popular at that time.

why do Hindus always do this.

pick away contemptuously at any good news or belittle it in many foolishly "logical" ways, a good and truthful report from a non Indian news paper. No need to split any hairs at all.

I have some "friends" who still say so what if the beedis come to India, let them come freely, why not be generous and accomodating.

it was exactly such a mentality that allowed the muslims, the portuguese, the french and the british to enter and despoil India

when someone else is fighting for you, be appreciative, be grateful and thankful and just don't go needlessly poking around in the mouths of gift horses.

DCP (Special Cell) Pramod Singh Kushwah said Jahanzaib Sami (36) and wife Hina Bashir Beg (39), who belong to Srinagar’s Shivpora, “have links with the Khorasan module of IS (ISKP)”. Police also accused Sami, who works with a private firm, of helping publish the February edition of IS magazine Sawt al Hind (Voice of India), adding “further evidence is being gathered”.

Chetak ji, there is no need for being critical. I live here and deeply appreciate what Tarek Fateh has been doing. Not belittling or being contemptuous.

Out of respect for you, my response will not match your tone.

Oh that is so elitist of you.

With almost 6,00,000 readership daily, it is what every subway/metro/bus commuter reads on their way to work in GTA (Greater Toronto Area). Those are the everyday middle-class people who matters insofar as shaping opinions of world-at-large for our desh and desi's. These are the people your regular NRI interacts with on a daily basis. I say more people should author such articles in Toronto Sun.
