That may be, but our vision can be much more long term. Some posters do not understand this. The other problem is that by the time we are "independent", these guys would have succeeded in generating self-declared "emirates" in parts of India.

I am all for strategic partnership with the "gelf" countries but with us increasingly calling all the shots and basically dominating them economically, demographically, and one day culturally.

Last recession triggered the "arab spring" the flames of which are still burning in Libya, Syria and Yemen. WTI crashed a whooping 385% today and the OPEC spec Brent crashed 8%. A global recession is coming as is automotive electrification, it will be interesting to see how middle east will look like in another 10-15 yrs from now in a low oil consuming world .

As for Indian hindus being targeted in the middle east, we cannot go after those fanning the flames from Pakistan or the jobless royals/journalists/lawyers in Gulf countries, but the government must target those who are pouring gasoline on fire from India..the likes of Irena Akbar, Altaf Shaikh, Rana Ayyub, Md Asif Khan etc must be taken to task.

these same maha police tortured our Sadhvi for months. Now they arranged brutal lynching of our sadhus. Only thing left for them to do now is to organise beef parties.

These people are most adharmic people on earth. Them and their masters both are cursed to their next 5 generations at least.

Germany sends China £130billion bill for 'coronavirus damages' – sparks fury in Beijing

OLI SMITH
Tue, Apr 21, 2020

GERMANY has rattled China after joining the UK, France and the US in a rare attack, after Berlin called out Beijing's responsibility for the global pandemic and even issued a £130bn invoice.

President Trump and his senior aides have repeatedly accused China of lacking transparency.

This week the city of Wuhan, where the outbreak started, revised its number of fatalities by with a sudden 50% jump in the figure.

The UK has joined US intelligence officials in investigating claims that the virus originated in a Wuhan virus lab and not a wet market.

A bombshell op-ed this week in Germany's largest tabloid newspaper, Bild, joined this outrage by drawing up an itemised invoice for €149bn (£130b).

The title is misleading...its not the Angela Merkel goremint that has sent this "bill", just some tabloid newspaper. That's like Sushi Tharoor's $45 trillion "bill" to the UK for colonialism reparations.

But that cannot be used as a blackmailing tool by the Islamists. Because once you give into blackmail, there is going to be no end to it. We must understand that there are enough and more turn coats and traitors within Indian territory who will be helping the Arabs to destabilize India.

The two categories GoI has a direct influence are the bolded ones (in India). So if commies and peacefools are misusing the justice system (or the lack of it) in the Arab lands to target Hindus, then there has to be a mechanism to get them in trouble in India. There have been numerous cases where peacefools sitting in the middle east abuse BJP/RSS leadership and at times the Indian Union itself. File cases against them in India, issue look out notices and pick them up when they land in India.

100% ==>> one needs to get own house in order and everything will flow from there..

If India wants foreign currency reserves, economy needs to get into good order
and then build an INR bond market similar to the americanos..... bills/notes/bonds
across the whole yield curve.

Modulate access to foreigners on an as required basis

A country that can have a growing economy whilst offering a positive yield will find
its bonds in great demand

Palghar mob lynching: Relatives of those arrested threaten to kill BJP sarpanch on the suspicion of colluding with the police
https://www.opindia.com/2020/04/palghar ... -sarpanch/
As per the Lokmat report, the relatives of those arrested have threatened the BJP sarpanch of killing her, her two children as well as her husband for the leaking the identities of the murders of the three men to the police.
In the FIR, the assistant police inspector Anand Rao Kale, who led the initial response team of the police at the spot claimed that the police were heavily outnumbered as there were about 400 to 500 frenzied people who were baying for the blood of the three individuals. The report mentions that the police team which had reached the location to rescue the victims were also attacked by the mob. When they tried to rescue the victims by putting them in the police vehicle, the mob vandalised the police vehicle and kept attacking the three men with stones. Kale identified five men from the mob of 400-500 and included them in the FIR. They are- Jairam Bhavar (25), Mahesh Sitaram Ravte (19), Ganesh Devji Rao (31), Ramdas Rupji Asare (27) and Sunil Somji Ravte (25).

To be frank, I find that Na.Mo Government scores big zero when it comes to dealing with media, journalists. Secondly, the approach seems to be expecting pro-Sangh people to fight for themselves where as the BJP led govt would only focus on building economy, infrastructure etc. That is; the general idea is to make the common workers cannon fodder. It does help them that other "national" parties like INC are now in a bad shape, but they seem to be faltering in dealing with any group which is more organized and united (like MSM, BIF etc.). The BIF now seems to have developed strategies which can be executed within and without India's borders.

Did speak to a few contacts working in the emirates. As per them, the economy in places like UAE is not at its best. There were already rumours that there could be a recession and job losses. One contact of mine; he actually foresaw this and ensured that his family came back to India last year and kids got into Indian school and SHQ found a local job. COVID-19 has also hit them badly. Many companies have asked people to stay at home without pay (while they have to pay home rents), some have encouraged employees to fly back to India as soon as the planes can take off. Their VISAs may be extended, but they will only be asked to come back when things are better. UAE government has also given full rights for companies to lay off employees provided they follow the laws (i.e notice period, severance pay etc.). A lot of the 'development' in those places it seems depend on the oil prices and tourism etc. And both these have been hit very badly.

So looks like there may be a huge rush of people from these desert sheikdoms back to India as soon as the air travel ban is lifted. And it may be a chanakyan idea from the UAE sheikh families to try and pass the blame on the people who are coming back, rather than admitting that their economy is messed up. The BIF will spin a story that most of the people who lost the jobs were Hindus, and who were also pro-Sangh. Indian main stream media can do the job of spreading the news in India. This would for sure cause panic among the Hindu community, who AFAIK are more prone to panic reactions and being doubting Thomases.

Perhaps we also need to understand each state's contribution to the work force in the middle east sheikdoms. States which have higher reliance on the sheikdoms, naturally will have more to lose if there are repurcussions in the middle east. Kerala for sure will take a hit if there is a big economic crisis in the middle east. The impact on say Orissa or Karnataka may be a little less.

Under MMS our National Economic Policy seemed to be aimed at maximizing IT exports & Foreign remittances at the expense of everything else. These policies have been continued by bureaucracy working with Modi. Hence we have sacrificed Manufacturing, Retail, Finance, Banks, Insurance, Traditional Media, Social media, even whole sale trade, Defence manufacturing, agricultural tech, pharmaceutical APIs, automotive into the hands of foreigners rather FDI & imports.

From the same article...
People of the Sadhu community say that this village is tribals dominated and most of them are Christians while some are Muslims. Some even say that the police, out of fear of the tribals, handed over the Sadhus to the mob which later beat up those Sadhus to death with sticks. Reportedly, when the tribals of a particular religion started beating up the Sadhus, the police did not intervene.
Also please do not go merely by their surnames, i personally know 2-3 people from near that area who have retained their maharashtrian style names even when their previous generation (fathers and grandfathers) converted to Christianity.

Anand Rao Kale, an assistant police inspector, and another sub-inspector have been suspended until an inquiry is conducted into the mob lynching incident that occurred on April 16 in Palghar.
The inquiry will also shed light on the incident that happened on the same stretch where the suspended API Kale, a doctor and three constables were attacked by villagers the earlier evening.

Despite such an attack, police had not taken proper actions to curb the rumour mongering and illegal patrolling being carried out by the villagers.

The two officers, Assistant Police Inspector Anandrao Kale and Police Sub Inspector Sudhir Katare of Kasa police station, have been suspended until an inquiry is conducted into the mob lynching.

You don't have the luxury of making a sequential list. Both need to happen because its a multidimensional problem. I'm not talking about doing it next month, but there should be action along this front. Like I just said a few hours ago, the boundaries between "our own house" and "outside" don't really exist in many case. They are all connected.

I understand it fully. It may hurt some states (and some areas) in the short term - especially the peaceful areas. Will be a much needed kick in the rear end to reform, grow a local economy, and stop importing "sharia culture".

TWITTER

ABHINAV PRAKASH WROTE:

REALITY OF KUWAIT

Kuwaiti MP Safaa al Hashem says ‘migrants must pay to breathe Kuwait air.’ She previously called expatriates ‘rats’ whose citizenship should be revoked. These are Kuwaiti members of parliament. Shameful racism against Indians & others in Arab world.

Migrants including large number of Indians are at the receiving end of racism & discrimination in Kuwait & other Gulf emirates. While some twitter warriors here are indulging in propaganda war against India to play to the gallery & hide their ugly reality.

While Kuwaiti trolls are preaching India on religious equality, Kuwait doesn’t give citizenship to Hindus & non-Muslims. They must convert to Islam for at least five years before the grant of naturalisation is considered. Citizenship is revoked if they don’t behave like Muslims.

Let’s look at the rampant gender discrimination in Kuwait: Kuwaiti women married to foreign spouses cannot pass their Kuwaiti citizenship to children or to their spouse. Kuwaiti fathers, however, have the right to pass their citizenship to their children and to a foreign spouse.

A woman in Kuwait has the right to seek divorce only for a few specified reasons only, including if she has been abandoned or abused, or if the husband has failed to pay alimony. The woman will have to prove injury. A husband on the other hand can divorce his wife “arbitrarily.”

In Kuwait women inherit a smaller share than men. For instance, a daughter has the right to a share of the inheritance that is half of her brother’s share. They don’t the right to adopt children. Children are taken away from them if they divorce except custody till certain age.

While trolls from Kuwait & Gulf Emirates are ‘questioning India’ there is no specific law against domestic violence in Kuwait. Code allows lenient sentence to a man who kills his wife, mother, sister or daughter for dishonor. Gender violence & rape against immigrants is rampant.

Women in Kuwait aren’t allowed to become judges. Women aren’t allowed abortion even in case of Rape. But Kuwaiti trolls are trolling Tejasvi Surya for a deleted five yrs old tweet where he quotes an someone else. Maybe avoidable but Arab trolls should work on their own countries.

In several Arab countries like Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Bahrain, Morocco, Lebanon, Palestine there is ‘Marry-your-rapist law’ where rapist gets away without punishment if he marries his victim. Maybe Arab trolls should outrage against this instead of preaching India?

Kuwait: law prohibits the defamation of the Abrahamic religions and denigration of Islamic and Judeo-Christian religious figures while non-Abrahamian religions like Hinduism aren’t even recognized. And Kuwaiti trolls are pretending how they treat everyone equally.

While Kuwait pays salary & expenditures of Sunni mosques, Shias get nothing. Hindus and non-Muslims can practice their privately if ‘Muslims aren’t disturbed’. They lack sufficient religious facilities, religious clerics to bless births & marriages, & conduct death rituals.

Law in Kuwait prohibits non-Muslims from eating, drinking, and smoking in public between sunrise and sunset during Ramadan with a prescribed maximum penalty of up to 100 dinars ($330) and/or one month’s imprisonment. It is illegal to possess or import pork products & alcohol.

Hindus and non-Muslims, even Shias, in Kuwait aren’t allowed public display of their faith or celebrate their festivals in public. There is ban on sale/available of non-Muslim religious literature in books shops. Kuwait prohibits & censors mention of Holocaust of Jews.

Prominent clerics and leaders in Kuwait publicly rant to further restrict (almost non-existent) religious freedom of Hindus and non-Muslims. Shias are oppressed in Kuwait & routinely denounced and accused of being Iran back terrorists.

Irrelevant. India needs to accommodate 7th Centuary desert practices. There is no obligation for Hindus Shias etc by the desert dwellers. That is logical.

The demand for true secularism is limited to India, never found to be a good idea for anything beyond Atari on to the Atlantic. That is also logical.

Interesting. I've noted this with the Christian community, especially Protestant. Even so, a non indic name is almost always part of the full name. Eg. Kevin Kohli or Edward Lal.

Ditto with Muslims. Eg. And I hate to use it, Zakir Naik.

In both cases, the use of a name reflecting the new identity is almost mandatory.

Among Christians in Andhra and Telangana, you can find completely Hindu first and last names among converts. You wouldn't even know they are christian unless you observe their lifestyle and attitudes closely or they themselves reveal their faith. Ex : AP CM Jagan Mohan Reddy, a third generation Catholic Christian. His father's name Rajasekhara Reddy. His grandfather's name (he is the one who converted first) is Raja Reddy.

Likewise in Punjab, there are Christian missionaries and pastors with perfectly Sikh names. Ex : Bajinder Singh, Harpreet Singh Deol, Sadhu Sundar Singh, Bakht Singh Chabra etc.

Cong questions Jagan's 'Reddy' credentials
Jagan is a third generation Roman Catholic Christian as his grandfather Raja Reddy was baptised as a Catholic several decades ago. His family continues to follow Catholic traditions. Former minister and Anantapur strongman J C Diwakar Reddy said Jaganmohan couldn't belong to the Reddy community because "he is a devout Christian". Holy Cow  (pun intended). From wiki:
Camel urine has been used in the Arabian Peninsula for medicinal and religious purposes for centuries, being a part of Islamic prophetic medicine.[1] The World Health Organisation has urged people to refrain from drinking camel urine. It has been linked with Middle East Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus.[2]

They were converted by Anglican church (Protestant with elements of Catholic). The church is still active in northern Tamil Nadu (Chennai, Vellore, etc) but declined in Andhra Pradesh.

His Brother-in-law also started (or acquired rather) in 2009 an evangelical church called life church of India when evangelism was seen to be more profitable due to money flowing from the US. 2009 was also when YSR died in a helicopter.

This comes from the custom of giving a child the name of a saint at their baptism or confirmation within the Catholic Church. If given at baptism, it becomes part of the legal name.

‘Shekhar Gupta has been leading the compromise of Indian journalism’: Arnab Goswami resigns from Editors’ Guild on live TV
21 April, 2020
OpIndia Staff

"I’ve been a member of the Editors’ Guild of India for a long time. I hereby on live television resign from the Editors’ Guild of India for its absolute compromise with its editorial ethics", said Arnab.

On Monday, news media baron Arnab Goswami resigned from the Editors Guild of India on live TV, over its diminishing credibility and abject silence. During the course of a debate on the lynching of two Sadhus and a driver in Palghar, he slammed the President of the Guild, Shekhar Gupta, for destroying the remaining credibility of the organisation.

While tendering his resignation as a member of the Editor’s Guild, Goswami remarked, “I’ve been a member of the Editors’ Guild of India for a long time. I hereby on live television resign from the Editors’ Guild of India for its absolute compromise with its editorial ethics.”

He labelled the organisation as a ‘group of has-beens’ and accused it of being a self-serving entity. Moreover, Goswami called out Shekhar Gupta for sheer silence on the Palghar lynching Case and for ‘leading the compromise on Indian journalism’.
