Here's a math lesson for you, dear Mr. Purie.

2 lakh crores a day = ₹2,00,000,00,00,000
= $26 billion (at ₹75 = $1)
That is per-day.
Multiply by 365:
$26 billion x 365 = $9.7 trillion

Would love to see how you arrived at this figure.

he should be sacked and legally taught an unforgettable lesson to serve as an example to his fellow jehadis.

what did he mean by "saying that his tweet was “ill-timed” and “insensitive” in light of the Wuhan Coronavirus outbreak"

does he think that it was OK to say it when times were "better"

Delhi Police books Minorities Commission Chairman Zafarul Islam for sedition, had hailed Zakir Naik, celebrated hounding of Hindus in UAE

Zafaraul Islam apologises

On May 1, Islam tendered an apology, saying that his tweet was “ill-timed” and “insensitive” in light of the Wuhan Coronavirus outbreak. While apologising, he claimed that the matter was blown “out of proportion”

Zafrul Islam further accused the media of fabricating and distorting hi statements. He added that the would continue to defend India on crucial issues as doing otherwise would be against the Constitution and his religious beliefs.

Arnab Goswami's Republic TV CFO S Sundaram, has been under police interrogation for many hours now.

After interrogating Arnab Goswami for over 12 hours, now Mumbai police ‘questions’ group CFO of Republic: 4 hours and counting

Republic TV CFO S Sundaram was summoned by Mumbai police today to make a statement on the case against Arnab Goswami. The interrogation started at around 10.30 AM this morning, and it is still going on till the time of writing this report. Which means the interrogation is going on for more than 4 hours now, and it can turn out to be another marathon interrogation of a Republic official by Mumbai police.

these two cases seem to be related in some way

ED starts money laundering investigation in irrigation scam, involving Ajit Pawar

Vijay V Singh
May 1, 2020,

MUMBAI: Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated a money laundering case in Vidharbha Irrigation Development Corporation (VIDC) scam after registering an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR)-Its equivalent to FIR—recently.

Earlier, the Maharashtra anti-corruption bureau had investigated deputy chief minister of Maharashtra Ajit Pawar in the scam but gave him a clean chit.

Since last couple of months, the ED was examining the documents and FIRs registered in the scam by ACB. Pawar was not named as accused in the ACB cases, but the agency had investigated him.

A source said, “ED names only those accused in ECIR, whose names are mention in FIRs. But, investigate all those associated with the transactions.”

TOI had in 2012 written a series of reports on irregularities in the irrigation projects which resulted in Ajit Pawar quitting as deputy CM. It was alleged that during Congress-NCP regime, Ajit Pawar as irrigation minister, had allotted dam construction tenders to people known to him by violating rules. There was PIL in the Nagpur bench of Bombay High Court urging investigation in the irrigation scam.

GJ CM taking easy way out. Obviously he didn't mention his ineptitude about enforcing lockdown, ability to dismantle mafia networks that allowed virus to piggy back all over the state, and exponential take over of various small scale businesses by green energy by hook or crook. In yester years, Tablighi factor alone would not have resulted into the spread that's been witnessed.

Spike in Coronavirus cases in Gujarat came around April 15th because Jamaatis hid their links with Delhi Markaz: Gujarat CM

from what I gather, it looks like he is trying to position himself as the teflon PM somewhat on the khujiliwal model, looking to gather for his council of ministers some gaggle of "competent" technocrats who will not have a political base and so will never pose a threat to pappu.

his family has already used the proxy PM model and the BIF inspired NAC model to wield absolute authority without an iota of responsibility.

so it's either the teflon PM or the super PM like the mafia queen was.

He needs the "freedom" to travel on the "quiet" so that he gets to do whatever he does on such trips.

For him to come back to power, the BIF will have to do more than their fair share of jugaad but the rewards for the BIF are almost incalculable in terms of ROI, so they will move heaven and earth to try and shoehorn this political nobody into the PM's gaddi.

They will have to buy off a lot of potential aspirants in India, so the different BIF may even compete to get their preferred pappus in.

War is coming once chinese virus vaccine is ready and US military and civilian population is vaccinated . My guess 2022-23 time period. India has about 2 yrs to prepare. Make no mistake most of the carnage will be in India/china and pukistan. I hope our military is preparing inspite of the chinki virus. We will have to fight with what we have but must get as many rafales as possible. I have doubts about Russians , at best they will remain neutral and not help and dillydaly , at worst at this point I consider Russia as an enemy state who may side with the chinks. I have serious doubts if S 400 will be delivered on time. If S 400 is delivered before time than it will a massive boost for us not because of the s 400 but Russians intents vis a vis china. Get those damn tejas delivered at the maximum rate possible. I do not care which variety Mkia or just mka. When wars arrive they do not arrive when u are perfectly ready but usually just the opposite.

I do not believe any Covid-19 casualty numbers whether Indian or US. These numbers are several times more than advertised. All deaths at home , all false negatives which are in huge numbers ( my educated guess from own experience on the ground). And in case of India these numbers are likely to be even worse than official stats compared to US.

In times like these I must salute the Indian air force and it,s leadership . They always and continuously try to upgrade what they have and try to be ready for war at anytime. This attitude and their training and class will prove decisive in the coming battle.

Suresh, lets leave conspiracy theories aside. Of course, I wouldn't impede your freedom to indulge in them.

With the 1-year anniversary of ModiJi 2 coming up, I see several challenges that need to be addressed with urgency next couple months:

1. The jury is still out depending on whom you believe. Some say the migrant labor crisis is acute. Some say many migrants are happy with the govt freebies so much so they don't even plan on returning from their home base in Bihar/UP to places like Mumbai and Delhi etc. Either way, this needs to be addressed.

2. Don't want to be conveniently prescient like Pappu and his slave Raghuarm Rajan by proclaiming that "COVID 19 is an unprecedented crisis", but suffice to say that economy needs to be addressed on war footing. Once again, depending on whom you believe, some say India has already blown it thx to stifling bureaucracy. Meaning that manufacturing firms are eschewing China, but they find places like Vietnam, Philippines etc more attractive than India as alternate destinations. If true, hope ModiJi can reverse this perception.

3. Kashmir. With today's tragic loss of our guys, it seems we are pretty much back to square one post 370. Despite all that has happened: surgical strike, Balakot, FATF; there seems to be no change in TSP pigLeT strategy, and no dent in valley separatism. The 2 make a potent challenge for India. I have no clue what ModiJi can do to reverse this, short of arm chair impotent rage demanding that India attack TSP, but sure he has to do something.

4. Despite whatever us jingos on BR might say, the BIF has run riot in white media portraying India under ModiJi as Islamophobic, intolerant etc. Either ModiJi takes a tough stance on the likes of Adothi and other traitors, as also on some sections of white media like NYT/WP/Economist, for spreading false narrative or he must help support a counter narrative. I only don't like the latter part, because that gives white media way too much importance as judge and jury, and it will become a platform for Indians to wash their dirty linen. Better taking a tough stance IMO like China and USA would do under similar circumstances.

NYT / WP / Economist does not represent view of the whole white world. You can say slice of the english speaking world. there is huge undercurrent of anti islamism across Europe with Germany at forefront now and Russia as the foundation and shall become stronger after this economic crisis brought on by china virus. I won't be surprised at all if certain powers rise in Germany they did in 1930s.

We should stop paying attention to Western Media and go on with what we do. Post China Virus crisis, everyone shall be trying to get themselves on their feet. We should do what we know is right, not what the western media would have us do.

Rishi,

I respectfully disagree. Yes, we should not worry about what white media says on a particular case, but BIF in collusion with white media have consistently created a fake narrative. This is bound to hurt India's interests.

There is another mistake you make. Your point about ant-Islamism in white countries is bang on. I would go further and wager to bet, at least in US, FBI follows the shadows of Muslims with even a hint of Islamism. Adothi and Rana Ayyub types sitting in US colluding with some Russian media to create a fake narrative against USA would have been dealt with pretty firmly, their lives would be miserable. But, lets not make the colossal mistake of aligning the Islamist threats we face with the same threat white countries face. In dealing with the Islamic threat they face, they collude, aid, and abet the very same Islamist ilk arrayed against us as its in their interest to do so. Read Islamophobia and India TSP equal equal narratives etched in their propaganda narratives.

Wish this were true like many other nasty fake narratives about ModiJi.

And in any case, do channels like UnDy care about Indian advertising and Indian ratings? Their funding is assured. The cocky arrogance of Ravish Kumar, Sreenivasan Jain, Omar Abdullah's keep etc; as they relentlessly peddle one-side fake narratives against ModiJi is testimony to this. Dissent is alive and thriving. Actually, its high time he curtain some bogus dissent. Its damaging India.

These days I take anything about India from rags like NYTimes as good news, because Modi sarkar is implementing the worst-nightmare agenda that these guys fear. Some enjoyable snippets below...

And people here on BRF crib Modi is not doing anything to rein in the fake news media....well here is the effective action behind the scenes, not just a war of words.

I hope they cover Aroon Purie next.

And Karan Thapar is hopefully still wearing an adult diaper these last few years.

When Mr. Modi became prime minister, his administration began a full-scale assault on NDTV. The government accused it of laundering money through a deal with NBC, the American TV network. The accusations have dragged on for years, and NDTV denies any wrongdoing.

“The thing in India is, you can file a case, and win it 10 years later,” said Prannoy Roy, one of NDTV’s founders. “The process is the punishment.”

:rotfl:

The effort to brand NDTV as unpatriotic has been devastatingly effective. In one November 2016 email, the luxury automaker Daimler told NDTV that it would not proceed with a marketing campaign because “there are people associated with the channel that are linked to anti-India stuff, by the public at large.”

A Daimler spokeswoman said Friday that the email did not reflect the company’s views and that the campaign had been rejected for economic reasons.

As money dried up, the station laid off hundreds of journalists.

....

even Bloomberg, the American media giant, has been unable to get a license, despite investing millions of dollars with its Indian partner.

:D

....

In this environment, sharp criticism of Mr. Modi can end careers. After a host at the Hindi news channel ABP questioned the results of one of the prime minister’s initiatives to help poor farmers, the satellite transmission of the show was interrupted every time it was broadcast, said several people who worked at the station. The channel’s owners pressured the host, Punya Prasun Bajpai, to resign, and as soon as he left, the transmission interruptions stopped, the former employees said.

And after another ABP anchor, Abhisar Sharma, [never heard of this clown before] criticized Mr. Modi on live television about public safety, he was pulled off the air the same day. He, too, said he was pressured to quit.

Mr. Sharma then took to YouTube to broadcast his commentary, but pro-Modi trolls followed him into cyberspace. Every time he uploaded a video — and some drew millions of views — YouTube would receive thousands of complaints that he had made inappropriate remarks, Mr. Sharma said. The site’s algorithm then blocked any advertising revenue he would have made.

“You can’t escape them,” he said.

....

[it's working in KL too...]

The shutdown of Media One and another Kerala television station, Asianet News, in March was a new twist. Both stations broadcast in Malayalam, a local language spoken by less than 3 percent of Indians. And both channels had aired witness accounts that echoed what many other outlets aired during the violence in Delhi: that the police had done little to stop Hindu mobs as they rampaged against Muslims.

But the broadcast ministry claimed that what these two stations reported “could enhance the communal disharmony across the country.” After many complaints about the shutdown, the broadcasting minister, Mr. Javadekar, reversed the orders the next morning.

“Press freedom is absolutely essential in a democratic setup and that is the commitment of the Modi government,” Mr. Javadekar said at a news conference, implying that the orders had been issued without his consent.

“But let me also say,” he concluded, “that everybody accepts that it has to be a responsible freedom.” :D

Interesting gambit by Queen madam to pick up the train fare tab for migrant laborers to go back to their homes bases. Wonder how serious of an offer this is?

It's BS. Centre and state govt was always meant to pick up the tab.

What was the principle followed for those airlifted out from various countries? Did the air fare issue came up?

Why does this govt. keeps on scoring self goals. There seem to be no control over the bureaucracy.

It is plain to see what it is. The Lobby's ecosystem in the govt. machinery created this wedge to be exploited by vested interests.

However, it doesn't absolve the self righteous mahatmas ruling with a brute majority on strength of our votes.

Abhisar Sharma is a "journalist" who, at that time, was working for runditv and the channel sponsored an extravagantly luxurious fully paid vacation for this guy and his wife who, at that very time, was the IT official assigned as the assessment officer or whatever, to deal with runditv. He is alleged to have entered into a conspiracy along with his wife to save rundi tv's bacon in return for some tangible gains

This man has enjoyed paid foreign holidays in return of officer wife services for NDTV n Roy family while she was on payroll of govt.

This govt has been caught with its pants down. Same thing happened in Karnataka with the bus fare. DK shivakumar who has snatched poor farmers solar farms donated 1Cr to transportation department. The only option is to sack some IAS in railways to save face.

Offcourse BIF will report as if SG is paying out of her pocket

Ankur Singh@iAnkurSingh·2h

Two big lies in Sonia Gandhi's statement

1. Govt provided free travel for Indiansstuck abroad
Truth- Govt only arranged flights, people had to take tickets

2. Center is charging poor migrants
Truth- Ticket cost is shared between center and states.

Some states charging migrants.

Shramik 'Special' trains were run only for those in trouble. States decide who are in 'special needs', this is why no tickets were sold

If u announce free travel, even those without much need would go, risking Corona spread.

Sonia wants Italy like situation? #SoniaItalyModel

The statement of the railway ministry should have come first.

as usual, the baboo(n)s have neatly sabotaged it and provided a foothold for the congis/commies to fish in troubled waters.

The evil mafia empire still lives, even after all these years of Modi raj

when will these self styled bureaucratic godmen learn to write plain and simple english that communicates effectively and the purpose of said communication is not to simply cover the baboo(n)s ass but to convey practical requirements in a clear and consistent manner.

On migrant workers, ticket prices and bureaucratic language

The convoluted language in this circular from the Home Secretary on movement of migrant workers was mocked all around social media yesterday.
