so, only these guys have ‘sovereign rights’

what a neurotically sickular bunch of desert cultists.

1500-year-old Cathedral Hagia Sophia converted to a mosque, President Erdogan says it’s Turkey’s ‘sovereign right’

On Friday, Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that a 1500-year-old Orthodox Christian Cathedral in Istanbul named Hagia Sophia would be converted into a mosque. The decision was made at the backdrop of a court order nullifying the earlier status of the cathedral as a ‘museum’.

“It was concluded that the settlement deed allocated it as a mosque and its use outside this character is not possible legally. The cabinet decision in 1934 that ended its use as a mosque and defined it as a museum did not comply with laws,” the top administrative court order noted.

As per the report, Erdogan has stated in a press conference that the conversion of the UNESCO World Heritage site was well-within Turkey’s ‘sovereign right.’ He informed that the first Islamic prayer would be read inside the premises of Haga Sophia on July 24.

Really saar? :)

The very next Article published about 2 hours later, titled 'Vikas Dubey’s mysterious death', on that page has this to say

Even Ajmal Kasab, caught red-handed in the 26/11 attacks, got a trial.

I just think HT is trying to play it safe, especially for their cubs pups in UP land. After all the article does not forget to include:

While the opposition does not spare him for his alleged communal face or acts, he brazenly follows his ‘Hindutva agenda.’ He does not brook criticism — anti-CAA protestors are facing the music for ‘ damaging government property’ and some media personnel have been booked in cases.

HT like IE is very clever anti-BJP while both do print pro-BJP opinions by various people to create a semblance of balance in the minds of readers.

HT is owned by KK Birla's daughter Shobhana Bhartia who was a Rajya Sabha member from Congress, so there's never been any doubts where their loyalties are. In fact i cannot think of a single established media house that does not have some sort of a congress or communist party connection.

‘Maaro, Kafiro ko Maaro’: From creating fake alibi to mobilising thousands of Muslims against Hindus, read what Tahir Hussain did in his own words
https://www.opindia.com/2020/07/tahir-h ... e-details/
From the 24th of February to the 25th of February, Delhi burnt with perhaps one of the worst anti-Hindu riots that the country has seen in recent times. As many as 53 people were killed and hundreds injured in the riots that were planned, organised, masterminded and implemented with clinical precision by the Islamists. One of the main protagonists of the sinister story is Tahir Hussain, the AAP leader who spearheaded the Delhi riots in which IB staffer Ankit Sharma was murdered brutally by his mob and several Hindu properties were burnt to ashes. Chargesheet has been filed against Tahir Hussain and his role in the Delhi riots.

Here is a short list of anti-Brahmin people and ideas Congress has nurtured and supported
https://www.opindia.com/2020/07/anti-br ... bhim-army/
Ever since law enforcement authorities in Uttar Pradesh started going after Vikas Dubey and his associates, the Congress party has been trying to paint the Yogi Government as ‘anti-Brahmin’. The Congress party is attempting to use the caste of a dreaded gangster to shore up political support for itself at a time when it is facing political irrelevance.

While it tries to paint the UP Government as being ‘anti-Brahmin’, it needs to be remembered here that the Congress party’s own relationship with the Brahmin Community has been one of ‘run with the hare and hunt with the hounds’. The party suddenly appears to have developed a soft spot for Brahmins but all this while, they have nurtured and supported elements who have made it a point of order to hurl obscenities at the community.

Kapil Sibal has seen the writing on the wall. With Yogi going very strong in UP and popularity of Modi remaining intact during Covid and improved after Galwan, most Congo ecosystem folks without mass following have decided to call it quits to avoid having to deal with ED, CBI and other agencies.

This was bound to happen...similar was the case in MP where another "old guard" congi was posted as CM and the "young neta" given token respect.

Problem in RJ is the numbers game, unlike in MP. Pilot will need to get 50 congi MLAs to resign in order to reduce the goremint to minority. If BJP can get half the independents supporting the goremint (6 out of 12) to switch sides without resigning, that reduces Pilot's task to 38 resignations.

This is still a tall order, but you never know...the collapse can be pretty quick. In any case, it is good to keep congis in a permanent churn...they have learned the nasty truth that it is no longer enough to even win the election, keeping things together afterwards could be worse than losing.

Congis are in complete disarray even now. Either way it will be OK for 2024.

Despite the debacle with China in 1962 and Banditji's "expiry" in 1964, Congis managed to get a full majority (albeit reduced by 80 seats from previous) in the 1967 election. The "masterstroke" was of course to line up Indeerah as the next PM...a trick repeated in 1984 with Rajiv. However, this trick has now lost all usefulness with only the likes of Pappu and Pappini available.

Modi on the other hand enjoys full public trust and is going to win big again in 2024.

Btw, Congress has not held a majority since 1984, ever single government they've formed since then has been a minority government.

Raj govt seems safe for now, to me. 50 MLAs is a tall ask. However this little kerfuffle could work out for the benefit of the BJP : a young Congress leader with good future potential, humiliated and cut to size before 2024.

He cannot be accepted into the BJP because of his CM ambitions. Vasundhara Raje ji cannot be sidelined.

If 25 MLAs resign kangress automatically becomes a minority government. They had won only 99 seats in 200 members assembly. Independents can switch support anytime.

As explained earlier, it doesn't work like that. If 25 MLAs resign the INC goremint goes from 124 to 99. The house strength also reduces from 200 to 175, so it is still a comfortable majority. BJP+ is at 76, so enough MLAs must resign to get the INC tally below 75. Independents can switch sides, so like I said, if 6 switch then BJP+ goes to 82 and goremint goes to 118, and one needs about 38 resignations to get them down to 80.

Pilot to join BJP in presence of JP Nadda: Sources
In a massive blow to Congress, Deputy CM Sachin Pilot is likely to join BJP in the next 24 hours claim sources on Sunday. Pilot, who met with former colleague Scindia earlier in the day, is likely to join the saffron party in the presence of BJP chief JP Nadda. This move comes after Congress has issued a whip to all MLAs to attend the Congress Legislative Party (CLP) meet scheduled on Monday, which Pilot has refused to attend.

Pilot has played his cards too early, and really dont have the numbers both Congress MLAs or independents. He has over-reacted, and BJP state unit themselves are divided and many loyalists groups.

It’s internal fight where Gehlot will come on top, whereas nothing for BJP to gain nor lose.

SC upholds right of royal family in administration of Padmanabhaswamy Temple.; which is actually a 'major blow to secularism' . The summary of the case is that GoKL had got a verdict from Hon Kerala HC that the Padamanabhaswamy Temple at Thiruvananthapuram is now a state property. Hon HC in the verdict has said that the royal family member who had signed a 'covenant' had died and so the 'covenant' also expired. Supreme Court has now changed it. It was the 'covenant' (an agreement) between the king and the Indian Union which determined on the bifurcation of assets and certain type of privileges and duties. Custodianship of temples were retained by the royal household.

Note; why are elected governments so much interested on this temple? Not due to any devotion to the Hindu god there but due to the big treasure which is currently treated as the personal property of the diety  8) .

BJP will egg on him to start a regional party like NTR and YSRCP. It will be very good for BJP in 2024 elections. No need to pull the plug of a state govt now during Covid time.

Saar, the UPA doesn't seem to suffer any such compulsion, after forming Maharashtra Govt. just before/around COVID time. Today, I believe it's the worst hit state in the country.

And no one seems to be blaming them for the mismanagement.

Also, the UPA recently tried to bring down the NDA ruling coalition in N-E state, I think Manipur.

Modi can smartly use Covid and killings as an excuse to impose President's Rule in West Bengal , Maharashtra and Delhi.

the MAH power grab was essentially a trip to the bank for the three parties concerned.

ATM withdrawals made, two of the three players have peeled off leaving, as usual, the weakest to hold the bag and face the music.

the three musketeers have made a right royal mess in MAH and two have a solid hold on the press and many presstitutes.

the SS has only a rag that no one believes in any way and no other media presence.

It's absolutely the wrong time for the BJP to destabilize any state govt and it's the political equivalent of clacking off an S-vest while walking blindfolded on an active minefield.

due to its political inexperience, the SS has been politically stripped, reputation looted, ideology defiled, deviously manipulated and tactically outplayed by both the congis and the pawarfuls and the SS has been abandoned with only the S-vest remaining.

Like any suicide bomber, whom will UT rush to embrace as he clacks off the S-vest.

Right now, the one big target that he sees and the one that he has been made to believe is the only one which is wholly and solely responsible for his predicament is the BJP with whom he shares almost the same vote banks

one way or another, time is running out for the SS.

OK - so in RJ the latest situation seems like this....

Pilot claims 30 congis are with him. Additionally, the BTP (2 MLAs) has withdrawn support to INC+ and is with Pilot.

So, if 30 congis resign, BTP switches to BJP+, AND if 10 or more independents switch to BJP+, then it can form a new goremint with a majority in the reduced-strength house.
