$5.2 billion used for S400 would've done miracles for our MIC. How do we come up with money for these acquisitions when we cant fund LCAs or Akash or Pinakas?
Uhh because pinaka, LCA and Akash can't do what s400 can.

Was brainwashed by anti-CAA videos, will identify other rioters involved in anti-Hindu Delhi riots: Gun-brandishing Shahrukh cracks
https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/shahruk ... ainwashed/
In his disclosure statement, Pathan claimed that he was brainwashed by the protests after watching a YouTube video on anti-CAA protests at Maujpur Chowk and thus decided to join the demonstrations. He joined the protests, pelted stones and fired at the police, his statement said.

“On February 22, 2020, I saw on YouTube that a protest against CAA had started at Maujpur Chowk and got excited. Two days later at around 11 am, I went to Maujpur Chowk, where two groups, pro-CAA and anti-CAA, started pelting stones at each other. I also started pelting stones, and I also had a pistol with me, which I pointed at police officers and fired. I can identify the other accused from the protest footage and help in their arrest. I made a mistake, please forgive me,” the statement read.

Almost 8 Lakh Students Fail In Hindi In UP Board's Class 10, 12 Exams; Many Couldn't Write Simple Words
https://swarajyamag.com/insta/almost-8- ... mple-words
According to the Board officials, around 2.70 lakh students failed to secure passing marks in Hindi in Intermediate, while 5.28 lakh students in High School failed in their Hindi paper.

Around 2.39 lakh students of High School and Intermediate of the Board had skipped their Hindi papers.

A high school teacher who evaluated Hindi copies for class 12, said on condition of anonymity, "Many of the children did not know simple words like atmavishwas and wrote 'confidence', albeit with a wrong spelling. Some of them wrote 'suffer' for yatra. This reflects their level of the knowledge of the language," she said.

She further said that majority of the students tend to ignore Hindi because they feel there is no need to study the language which does not offer future prospects.

That's because INC did not care nor understand the 'D' of deficit. No matter how you cut it the government needs to cover 20 lakh crores they are spending to jumpstart the economy after prolonged lockdowns thanks to chinavirus. The last time i checked only 3% of India's gargantuan population pays direct income tax, so the revenue to cover the spending has to come from somewhere. GoI is fighting a pandemic, trying to save failing businesses, equip our military to fight China and pakis, improve quality of life especially for the poor through schemes like Jan Dhan, Ayushman Bharat, Ujjwala Yojana, Swach Bharat mission etc. Because there are no leaks, no scams, no skimming from top to bottom this government has kept a steady petroleum price over the last few years despite the ups and downs of the global energy market.

A group of saints meet Gujarat CM; get assurance that Pabubha Manek will visit Morari Bapu with apology
https://www.deshgujarat.com/2020/06/29/ ... h-apology/
Pabubha Manek, an invalidated BJP MLA of Dwarka constituency had rushed to Morari Bapu in anger earlier this month apparently for an attack. Thanks to intervention by BJP MP Poonam Madam and others present in the room, Pabubha couldn’t come closer to Morari Bapu. Pabubha was angry over Morari Bapu’s two-year old public remark regarding Shri Krishna, video of which went viral recently. Morari Bapu had already apologized for that remark more than once.

A day after this incident, a group of saints had called on Morari Bapu and announced their decision to meet the Chief Minister over this issue. State minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and party spokesperson Bharat Pandya had also called on Morari Bapu later.

Chudasama, Pandya, MoS Home Pradipsinh Jadeja among others were present today when the saints were in Gandhinagar to meet the Chief Minister.

What exactly happens when they are banned? I was just able to both download and install TikTok on my phone from India. Ran into an overwhelming amount of #SingleSource influencers by default, which means atleast for now its business as usual. Tried it with both my wired and cellular internet connections.

GoI would need competent team here to handle things. Not only GoI would have to force Google and Apple but also remove all backdoor ways of getting them installed through chinese app stores that probably come pre loaded on chinese phones. This will also mean to add these backdoors on the ban list. End of the day, forcing Google and Apple would be the key here.

There would also be lot of lower level built in apps that will be collecting data on chinese phones. This is where gov't funding amateurs to find and identify things would pay off. Reward them with whatever to find things.

And may be even some legal battles.

Also, GoI should look into encouraging non chinese phones to soldiers, other critical gov't officials, etc.

How will the apps be banned for users?
The ban notification is expected to be followed by instructions to Internet service providers to stop access to these apps. So users are soon likely to see a message saying access to the apps have been restricted on the request of the government. However, while this works for apps like TikTok and UC News that need a live feed to serve any purpose, users might be able to keep using apps that don’t need an active internet connection to be used. However, further downloads of these apps, like CamScanner, are likely to be blocked on Google’s Play Store and Apple’s App Store.

Will the ban be permanent?
TikTok was banned in India for a few days last year, but came back soon after once the court vacated the ban. However, this time the action is more sweeping and impacts more apps, so it remains to be seen if it has a permanent nature.

Shyam Saran has written a long apologia on Manmohan Singh's proposal to hand-over the Siachen Glacier and his own role in it. His argument is that don't judge it with hindsight because "In the context of the then state of relations this was an initiative deemed worthwhile."

Its the congi plot and subversive agenda that allowed and encouraged such traitorous morons to rise to the top of the Indian policy and decision making echelons. No wonder India has been in such a mess and the pakis, amerikis and all the other BIF are completely convinced that continued terrorism will get them cashmere because someday, some dhimmi govt is bound to buckle under and unilaterally gift cashmere away

no wonder that prime idiot and duffer half plick musharraf, swaggered into dilli completely convinced that he had bested India and got cashmere for the pakis.

too bad that he had to slink away with his tail between his legs

Akhilesh Mishra@amishra77·Jun 26

Here is 'then state of relations" with Pakistan that Shyam Saran thinks was good enough to hand over Siachen.

October 2005: Diwali terror attack, Delhi
March 2006: Varanasi Temple terrorist attack

Govt has said it will take several days for app stores to comply but even already installed apps will stop working as ISPs will block their traffic. The ban is just announced. Check after a week or two.

Already in works.

Just got an email from our supply chain guys that all shipments from China, Macau and Hong Kong (this is where some of our kits are mass are manufactured) are held up at the customs. Delivery managers are advised to look for alternatives.

All good in theory.
Let's see how the PM rein ins various babus from legacy licence raj departments, NGT and such riff raff.

We can absorb the little cost if we are required to source elsewhere.

We can also setup manufacturing, absorb a large cost and amortize over the next 2-3 years.

But what we cannot do is setting up our own manufacturing, all the while dealing with rogue unions, paying off bribe seeking babus and interference from eco-vigilantes.

Since my org is in PM home state, lets see how it works out in PM's own backyard.

‘So problem only with Dhoni’s Balidan badge?’ Netizens express anger as ICC shows off ‘Black Lives Matter’ logo West Indies players will wear in upcoming series
https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/black-l ... ssion=true
As per rule G.1 in ICC’s Clothing and equipment Rules and regulation guideline, “Players and team officials shall not be permitted to wear, display or otherwise convey messages through arm bands or other items affixed to clothing or equipment (“Personal Messages”) unless approved in advance by both the player or team official’s Board and the ICC Cricket Operations Department. Approval shall not be granted for messages which relate to political, religious or racial activities or causes. The ICC shall have the final say in determining whether any such message is approved. For the avoidance of doubt, where a message is approved by the player or team official’s Board but subsequently disapproved by the ICC’s Cricket Operations Department, the player or team official shall not be permitted to wear, display or otherwise convey such message in International Matches.”

Hence, what appears is that the ‘Black Lives Matter’ logo, which is related to ‘racial activity or cause’ is ‘preapproved’ by the ICC unlike Dhoni’s badge, which was asked to be removed.

As per definitions clause on ICC's clothing and equipment rules, racial activities are defined as those activities that are out of tune with what are currently deemed as politically acceptable. Further ICC reserves the right to declare what are politically acceptable.

I was scouting for a specific type of connector to join RF cables and most folks had it out of stock. Surprisingly even that tiny metallic component (costing around Rs. 200) was coming from China. And today I received a note from another vendor from China that another product's shipment would be delayed due to "tensions between China & India". On the message he also had added a 'devil' symbol to push the message ;) :). Most likely I will have to cancel the order. It is good thing for India to start manufacturing these components, but I sincerely pray that we also have the right capabilities. It cannot be like IT where we started with big grandoise plans, but ultimately all "IT Majors/Colonels" surviving on wage arbitrage and focusing on activities which are just 'run the business' etc.

When Nehru curbed press freedom and freedom of expression to protect ‘moral standards’ of Indians and faced opposition by all his opponents
https://www.opindia.com/2020/06/jawahar ... xpression/

The First Amendment in the United States of America protects constitutionally the right to freedom of speech and expression of its citizens. Under no circumstances can governments in the United States prosecute an individual for an opinion. Ironically, the First Amendment in India had exactly the polar opposite effect. It was brought in to curb the free speech rights of its citizens.

The first Prime Minister of India, who is again ironically hailed as a beacon of liberalism, was insistent on curbing the freedom of the press. According to a report published by The New York Times on the 17th of May, 1951, Nehru was steadfast in his commitment towards curbing free speech.

Nehru claimed that the First Amendment was necessitated by the “vulgarity, indecency and falsehood” that the press was supposedly indulging in. In his view, it was, therefore, necessary to empower the State to crack down on newspapers to ensure that the “main purposes of the Constitution are not defeated”.

Jawaharlal Nehru said, “It has become a matter of the deepest distress to me to see the way in which the less responsible news sheets are being conducted… not injuring me on this House much, but poisoning the minds of the younger generation and degrading their mental integrity and moral standards.”

“It is not for me a political problem but a moral problem,” Nehru said before opining that it had become “impossible to distinguish what is true and what is false.” Here we see the Indian Prime Minister anointing himself as the moral arbiter of the country. Of course, the problem for him was entirely political as he and his party were coming under intense criticism but since it would not be feasible to curb free speech rights of citizens on the basis of his personal predicament, he externalised the issue and presented it as a grave moral crisis.
