It’s not really a question of secession . Scotland has always been a separate nation just like England, Wales and NI . It’s just that since the early 1600s, Scotland and England have shared the same monarch, and since 1707, they’ve constituted Great Britain. Since the early 1800s, when GB merged with Ireland, it became United Kingdom. The Parliament of GB replaced that of England and Scotland and sits at Westminster. Since 1999, Scotland have gone back to having their own parliament. Northern Ireland also has its own parliament since 1920.

Trying to superimpose this onto Indian or any other system does not work because there no parallel . In various contexts, it is true that Scotland is a nation, GB is a nation and UK is a nation. Trying to express this in terms of anything involving India does not work at all.

I agree with you. I meant "secession" simply in the sense of "departure" from the UK.

Shiv Sena should again join hands with BJP. If Shiv Sena doesn't come with us, I appeal to (NCP chief) Sharad Pawar to join NDA for development for the state. He may get a big post in the future. There is no advantage in staying with Shiv Sena: Union Minister Ramdas Athawale
What will it take BJP to put these clowns on bench ? Ramdas Athawale, Ravishankar Prasad & Prakash Javadekar should have long been replaced by people who are competent and demonstrate an ability not to shoot themselves in the foot !

How will BJP answer to cadre loosing lives on ground for what they believe in?
Shiv Sena had anti-North Indian agenda, yet both parties were in alliance, so the costs and benefits isn't so straightforward. Right now, there is just one major Bihar elections, so plenty of churning can happen. But 2022-2024, BJP will want alliances again in different parts of country, as major states and national elections starts.

Congress asks party-ruled states to bring laws to negate Centre's agri legislations
NEW DELHI: The Congress Monday asked states under its rule to enact legislations to bypass the three Central farm-related laws that have triggered protests by farmers in some parts of the country.
The Congress is strongly opposed to the three Central legislations which were signed into laws by President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday.
"Congress President has advised the Congress-ruled states to explore the possibilities to pass laws in their respective states under Article 254(2) of the Constitution which allows the state legislatures to pass a law to negate the Anti-Agriculture Central laws encroaching upon State's jurisdiction under the Constitution," the party said in a statement.

he is trying to frame the narrative and put both these parties on the back foot.

he is a small time lightweight and so has been told to float a trial balloon.

plausible deniability.

Curious wording in that Time article.

"BJP not only rejected Elitism but also Pluralism". What does it even mean other than a good example of the "not only ... but also" construct?

It looks like Amnesty has pretty much folded up in India. Who would have thought this day would come so soon. There should no relief given and this cat's paw should completely go down and disappear from India.

"The development, activists say, could dent India's long-standing reputation of being a thriving democracy."

Which beggars the question, if India is "a thriving democracy" then why the need for Amnesty International or ANY of these foreign NGO's?

^From the BBC article
Amnesty had previously suspended its India operations in 2009, because of what the group said was repeated rejection of their licence to receive funds from overseas. India was then ruled by a Congress-led government, which sits in opposition now.
It seems like they've just suspended operations for now like they did back then. Hopefully this time it's permanent.

the need of the hour is to ban FFNGOs or FFNGO financed and supported PILs, even those filed by such supported Indian NGOs.

allow only local Indian NGOs file PILs on matters affecting them without any BIF interference.

The govt needs to reverse-activist them by bringing all NGOs that collect public money under RTI. Everything should be publicly disclosed - who funds, where it is spent, what it has done ...
Second, each NGO should declare preset quantitative goals before collecting public money.

No need to do anything else, they will go out of business

The PILs are a huge problem and a complete victory of judiciary (and NGO machinery) against the executive and parliament.

That said, govt & parliament also have surrendered. What is stopping the govt or parliament from having legislative petition mechanism and then tell the courts they are not needed ?

Why did the Congress-led government ignore four intelligence inputs on Mumbai 26/11 terror attack?
Why did the Congress-led government ignore four intelligence inputs on Mumbai 26/11 terror attack?

Savio Rodrigues 1 week ago

The Mumbai 26/11 terror attack was a dastardly act of cowardice unleashed on the innocent people of Mumbai by Pakistan-ISI backed and trained terrorists.

Both the Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), 10-days prior to the terror attack had credible intelligence about a possible terror attack in Mumbai by Pakistani-based terrorists.

GoaChronicle.com through our discussions with sources in IB and RAW has zeroed down on four vital intel that the intelligence agencies had alerted the Indian government led by UPA about a possible terror attack in Mumbai.

On November 18, 2008, RAW had intercepted a satellite phone conversation that a hotel at the Gateway of India would be targeted by a group of terrorists.

On November 19, 2008, IB receives intelligence that a boat (Al Husaini) with terrorists had set sail to attack Mumbai. The IB had even received input about the probable mobile numbers that could be used by the terrorists.

On November 21, 2008, the naval authorities, spotted the boat in Pakistani waters, the information was escalated to the Internal Security Department of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

The former bureaucrat of the Internal Security Department of MHA, RVS Mani in an interview with GoaChronicle.com stated that on November 23, 2008, his department did have such escalated information from the naval coastguard.

However, the Al Husaini boat was not intercepted. The naval authorities were redeployed on November 24, 2008, and no action was taken on the intelligence. Subsequently, terrorists then boarded and took over the M.V. Kuber which was a fishing trawler. From the M.V. Kuber closer to Mumbai, they got into a dinghy on November 26, 2008.

The inflatable dinghy used by the terrorists after abandoning M.V. Kuber had an outboard engine manufactured by Yamaha Motor Corporation, Japan. The investigation revealed that the engine was shipped to a firm called Business & Engineering Trends in Pakistan with the address: 24, Habibulla Road, Off Davis Road, Lahore, Pakistan.

On November 24, 2008, RAW intercepts another conversation. In this conversation on a possible terror attack, the hotels’ Taj and Trident were mentioned. The terrorists were focused on these two hotels, one near Gateway of India and the other at Nariman Point.

Shockingly, no senior member of the Internal Security Department of the MHA was there to receive the input of RAW. Former bureaucrat RVS Mani was sent to Lucknow to attend a case and most of the ISD of MHA left to be present in Pakistan on November 25, 2008. The delegates arrived on November 25, 2008, and were to leave November 26, 2008, but instead, they left on November 27, 2008. Their stay was extended because their planned meeting schedule was altered and their meeting with the Pakistan Minister of Interior Rehman Malik was postponed to November 26, 2008, instead of November 25, 2008. The postponement of the meeting was agreed to by the majority of the Indian delegates.

Former bureaucrat, RVS Mani was in the control room of the Ministry of Home Affairs dealing with the crisis of the terror attack in Mumbai. According to RVS Mani, the Prime Minister Office had credible intelligence. Yet no action was taken.

RVS Mani also revealed that a well-planned strategy of Pakistan ISI had kept Indian delegates in Pakistan from the MHA – Internal Security Division busy in frivolities.

According to a report by IB, based on Ajmal Kasab’s interrogation and confession revealed that the 10 terrorists were handpicked from a larger group and trained at various locations inside Pakistan and Pakistan Occupied Kashmir. The training was also held at Muridke, Mansehra, Muzaffarabad, Azizabad and Paanch Teni.

Kasab also confessed that they got local help. The charge-sheet filed had no mention of David Headley, who was helped in his recce by Rahul Bhatt, son of Bollywood filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, now in prison in the US and who has confessed to laying the foundation for 26/11 by taking detailed videos of the Taj and Trident/Oberoi hotels where he checked in as a guest, as well as other targets like Chabad House.

Having credible intelligence Congress-led government at the Centre and state failed to prevent one of the most horrific terror attack in India. The acts of omission raise serious questions on the actions of the Congress-led government.

If such is actually the case, then, maybe the RTE act can be bypassed by the BJP ruled states

why doesn't the BJP clearly explain why their then leaders failed to seriously oppose the implementation of the RTE as well as the constitutional amendment that followed.

Sonia Gandhi directs party to find ways to override new farm laws in the Congress-ruled states

Sonia Gandhi tells Congress to bypass farm Bills in party-ruled States

The Modi government has introduced major reforms in the agriculture sector with the passing of three crucial farm bills in the Parliament. The Centre has addressed the primary concerns of the farmers regarding market availability and fair pricing of their produce through the Farmers (Empowerment and Protection) Agreement of Price Assurance and Farm Services Bill, 2020.

However, the Congress party and several other opposition parties have been opposed to the farm reforms. With organised protests in Punjab and Harayana, the grand old party is trying to create an impression of mass agitation against the farm bills. As a part of its political agenda, Congress supremo Sonia Gandhi has directed the Congress-ruled States to find ways to override the Central reforms in the farming sector under Article 254(2) of the Indian Constitution.

Congress General Secretary KC Venugopal informed, “Hon’ble Congress President has asked Congress-ruled states to explore the possibilities to pass laws in their states under Article 254(2) of the Constitution, which allows the state legislatures to pass a law to override a Central law.”

Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi (in file pic) has appealed to all Congress-ruled states to explore possibilities of bypassing these tyrannical legislations by passing laws so that farmers could be spared from grave injustice done by the Centre: Congress https://t.co/zJFBxRwYAh pic.twitter.com/UIan4WsIMH

The provisions of Article 254(2)
The Article 254(2) of the Constitution states, “Where a law made by the Legislature of a State with respect to one of the matters enumerated in the concurrent List contains any provision repugnant to the provisions of an earlier law made by Parliament or any existing law with respect to that matter, then, the law so made by the Legislature of such State shall, if it has been reserved for the consideration of the President and has received his assent, prevail in that State.”

Congress party to observe ‘Kisan-Mazdoor Bachao Divas’

The Congress party has planned to observe Kisan-Mazdoor Bachao Divas on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi’s birth anniversary (Gandhi Jayanthi) on October 2. The party will hold demonstrations and marches at legislative assemblies and district headquarters in the country.

Congress will observe ‘Kisan-Mazdoor Bachao Divas’ on October 2 by holding dharnas and marches at every assembly and district headquarters across the country, the party says

— ANI (@ANI) September 28, 2020

Meanwhile, TN Prathapan, a Congress MP from Kerala, has moved the Supreme Court, challenging the constitutional validity of the farm bills. Punjab CM Amarinder Singh stated that the party would protest and explore legal options against the farm bill. While Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot has submitted a memorandum to Governor Kalraj Mishra and President Ram Nath Kovind, Chattisgarh CM Bhupesh Bhagel is planning to pass a resolution in the legislative assembly.

Let them scream. Amnesty and Greenpeace should have been thrown out 20 years ago but instead they spread and thrived. Salil Shetty, the former secretary general of Amnesty International is the son of the notorious VT Rajashekhar. VT Rajashekhar is the former editor of 'Dalit Voice' whose life's work has been to churn hatred towards Hindus and India in the name of 'Ambedkarism'. VT Rajashekhar despite his lack of popularity in India was once a common fixture on paki news channels whenever they wanted to wheel in an Indian anti-India voice. The sad part about how those with wealth and power have long abandoned dharmic civilizational responsibilities can be seen from the fact that Salil Shetty and many of the Amnesty/ActionAid crowd are associated with Lakshmi Mittal funded Harvard's South Asia Institute.

#Delhi High Court allows early hearing on appeals by CBI & ED against acquittal of all accused in 2G scam. Hearing begins from Oct 5 on a day to day basis.

2G appeals expedited
Fast tracked hearing day to day.

A note from one junro who has some idea how this works
https://twitter.com/jgopikrishnan70/sta ... 3811283968
So 2G appeal Judgment by Nov 30, the day of retirement of Justice Brijesh Sethi
Based on the retirement date of the Judge in question. It is a good guess.

Please take this off if it is too much conspiracy.
But this Sushant case might turn out to be the Epstein exposure of India. If you are interested in Child issues, this will strike fear and chill. This guy is not throwing crazy illuminati theories around. He has passed information to the authorities.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uXhgw74 ... e=youtu.be

There are just too many data points.
The Ex – Creative Director of Bollywood gave us all hint that how Baby Penguin killed Sushant Singh Rajput (SSR). ‘Eray Mridula Cather’ who was a Creative Director in Bollywood and worked with all top A-Listers exposed the whole Bollywood mafia and drug cartel. He talked about his personal experience that how politicians and Bollywood people tried to kill him when he wanted to leave from their trap. Eray Mridula Cather’ mentioned the code name of Bollywood actors and politician.
Mr. Z was now even forcing us to take projects he wanted to, they were bogus projects. Now the parties also started seeing the presence of top CEOs of major international studios, and almost all top bureaucrats from the then Information Ministry. Absolute nonsense contracts were made with Doordarshan worth crores. Nothing to be delivered. Just contracts on paper. ***** and Playboy models were always around when these ministry people showed up at the parties. Coke flowed literally like the sea. Orgies, extreme orgies… and much more was a daily constant now.

The new projects apart of those bogus projects were organizing secret trips for the ***** to Bombay, or booking connected rooms for a mega “superstar” whenever he has a concert or events like IIFA abroad. The doors of those connected rooms must only open for a certain actress. Mr. Z would never travel, but he was able to manage an unlimited supply of coke, acid, MD, and all in any part of the world.

“Eray, they take it once, they’re your slaves forever. This is the same ****** shit that Hollywood does, it’s exactly that same ****** shit!” He always said this. Mr. Z was ex-DEA, plus a lot of LAPD cops too were on his payroll. “Nothing can touch me in Maharashtra”, he would always say. In fact, most of his delivery partners were top officers from Mumbai Police. And well, no, not constables. The high ranking officers. This was all happening right in front of me. Nothing was hidden. No code words, nothing. Everything right in the open. There was a reason for that. The BIGGEST reason. Till now what I said is nothing compared to what am about to say. It’s darker than the darkest side a human mind can have. Dirty is not even a word to describe that.

The BIGGEST reason was Mr. Psycho. Let’s call him Baby P.A young heir to a powerful political dynasty. The last hope of the dynasty. Baby P is a living monster. From child ***** to live rapes, from cannibalism to extreme drug abuse — I can’t even write a few things. It’s disgusting. He is addicted to it all. How do I know this? Once X and Y were absolutely puppets of Mr. Z, his next target was me. What did he need from me? Absolute untraceable access to the darknet. The dirty side of the internet. He thought being all things digital, I may find him a way to that. And not that he wasn’t aware of it. He already had a whole private VPN setup, along with all the latest tech, cameras for live streaming, even drones and spy level cameras, and sound bugs.
Most of these cricketers are real "%^um^&7gs". Look how the captain fellow is running to jump on to the latest BIF bandwagon to divert from this case. We need a real clean up.

But this Sushant case might turn out to be the Epstein exposure of India. If you are interested in Child issues, this will strike fear and chill. This guy is not throwing crazy illuminati theories around. He has passed information to the authorities.

There are just too many data points.
Not at all conspiracy theory. On the contrary, this kind of explains the Bollywood culture perfectly. The brazen way these superstars were leading their drug culture, it should have been pretty easy for anti narcotics or counter intelligence agency to expose and break the nexus. We should not have to wait for Deepika's weed chat. Her entire performance could have been recorded. Seriously hoping we are not that neck deep in this as a society.

People forget the difference between Sport, Cinemas and Dramas. Cinemas and Dramas are scripted and not live, retakes schedules, body doubles etc are there. Cannot be compared with sport you have to perform live.

This is an old article but one that is quite significant because it reiterates how India stipulates a definite and unambiguous reprocity from beijing on the ‘One China’ issue.

since the matter has already been raised at the highest diplomatic levels, it does not require India to behoove the point time and again, especially when India's stated position remains unchanged.

ladakh being a part of china is just so much BS.

Nothing to stop these mendacious interlopers from "claiming" dilli as part of their wet dream middle kingdom at some future date.

New Delhi Will Recognize "One China" When Beijing Recognizes "One India"

Given Chinese foreign minster Wang Yi’s largely effusive experience in New Delhi earlier this summer, relations between Beijing and New Delhi appeared to sailing smoothly in 2014 following a rather turbulent 2013. However, recent comments by Indian officials may have rocked the boat. Speaking in New Delhi on Monday, Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj emphasized a linchpin of India’s policy toward Beijing: “For India to agree to a one-China policy, China should reaffirm a one-India policy.” Ostensibly, what Swaraj means by a “One India” policy is an acknowledgment from Beijing that Arunachal Pradesh — a territory in India’s northeast administered as a state by the Indian government but regarded by Beijing as South Tibet — is a part of India. “When they raised with us the issue of Tibet and Taiwan, we shared their sensitivities. So, we want [that] they should understand and appreciate our sensitivities regarding Arunachal Pradesh,” Swaraj added.

Funnily enough, India’s last Bharatiya Janata Party-led (BJP) government under Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee made a point of emphasizing that India acquiesced to a “One China” policy — an effort to sow better relations with Beijing. In 2010, analysts noted that a joint statement signed following a high-level meeting between India’s former prime minister, Manmohan Singh, and China’s former premier, Wen Jiabao, omitted any mention of India respecting the “One China” principle. Back then, New Delhi pressed Beijing to acknowledge Kashmir (not Arunachal Pradesh) as an integral part of India in exchange for a declaration of support for the “One China” principle. Beijing refused out of consideration for its “all-weather friend,” Pakistan. In 2013, India further extended its ambiguous position on the “One China” policy by refraining from including Tibet in a joint statement.

Earlier this summer, when Xi Jinping dispatched Foreign Minister Wang Yi to India to sow closer relations with Narendra Modi’s government, Swaraj alluded to the idea of requiring Beijing to back a “One India” policy — though she did not clarify what that meant at that time. According to the Indian Express, Swaraj closed a discussion with Wang with the following statement: “Mr. Minister, we support the One China policy. However, we expect you to also have a One India policy.” At the time, that statement did not seem to draw a pointed response from Beijing. Wang’s visit was, instead, regarded as a sign of better things to come in India-China relations in the Modi-Xi era. The meeting between the two leaders themselves this summer in Fortaleza, Brazil, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit, was similarly free of this issue.

China’s insistence that countries establishing formal diplomatic relations with it endorse a “One China” stance has been critical to Beijing’s foreign policy. The policy refers to the position that states conducting bilateral diplomacy with the People’s Republic of China (or conversely the Republic of China) acknowledge the existence of one state called “China.” Simply put, pick one: Beijing or Taipei. India, for its part, maintains formal diplomatic relations with Beijing and not Taipei, but has been hesitant to symbolically support the notion of “One China.” Normally, Beijing is highly sensitive to this issue, but so far it hasn’t become a major issue between India and China under Narendra Modi’s government.

With Xi Jinping’s visit to India later this month, we’ll have a chance to see if Modi returns to the Vajpayee-era status quo. The most likely scenario is that both sides avoid this issue. China will not publicly recognize Arunachal Pradesh as Indian territory. Given that Swaraj has publicly outlined this as a prerequisite for India publicly supporting a “One China” stance again, the issue may be gridlocked barring broader improvements in bilateral relations, including a move toward permanently resolving border disputes.
