A real collapse is usually head blanking out and losing balance, high risk of head hitting because person is unconscious. This is not even D-grade bogus.

The only part that suggests possibility of genuineness: I could guess from the start of the video that it was the guy at the right that was going to collapse. Why? Looked like a swaggering gait, but may have been due to being in his own world, last steps of disappearing consciousness. If this is true, it is really shocking, but for above reasons I think it is 400% bogus.

1. He was moving forward so I would expect his knees to bend.
2. I looked closer and I was more concerned about his arms breaking his fall.

I bow to your greater wisdom in spotting what is potentially more propaganda. :)

Also, I read about ppl coming with body bags as soon as u fall down.... but lots of ppl lose consciousness briefly. Like NCC Aug 15 parade in the sun after they steal your banana rations. So that can't be true either. They make take you inside in a bag to avoid touching you much, and to carry you w/o waiting for a stretcher etc, but that does not mean that they are going to throw the bag into the incinerator.
From my superior medical knawlidj, temporary loss of consciousness can result from low BP, high stress, or sheer exhaustion. Not 2 mention excess vodka. Even eyes roll up it is totally scary...

^^Chinese media manipulation is very sophisticated: think of them as being as smart as we are (rice-eaters too!) and having tons of energy very well focused by central planners who are also very smart. Look how much impact has been generated by India's MAD in such a short time, with a far smaller set of very smart planners/implementers, but MAD have to swim upstream through the glue of the Babooncracy and obstruction/sabotage by all the Usual Quarters. Cheen have got over all those obstacles. So I don't know the point of some of the images/data that they have released, but most of it is well-considered. For instance I think the sudden change in accounting procedures, which made of Suddent Spurt in Number of Cases, was manipulated and timed so that then they could claim Drop in Number of Cases. (Like "Clearance Sale! 30% OFF Everything!" after doubling prices).

Likewise, the Bodies On The Streets may have some strange psychological motivation.

Cheen slap WSJ.
LONDON -- The Chinese government has revoked the press credentials of three Beijing-based journalists from The Wall Street Journal as punishment for the headline of a recent opinion piece published by the U.S. newspaper that referred to China as "the real sick man of Asia."
An official from China's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the decision during a press conference Wednesday, saying the Feb. 3 op-ed "smears the efforts of the Chinese government and people on fighting the [coronavirus] epidemic." The move comes after the ministry had asked The Wall Street Journal last week to publicly apologize for the article and hold the person involved accountable.

"The editors used such a racially discriminatory title, triggering indignation and condemnation among the Chinese people and the international community," the official said. "However, regrettably, what the WSJ has done so far is nothing but parrying and dodging its responsibility. It has neither issued an official apology nor informed us of what it plans to do with the persons involved."

"The Chinese side handles affairs related to foreign journalists in accordance with laws and regulations," the official added. "The Chinese people do not welcome those media that speak racially discriminatory languages and maliciously slander and attack China. As such, it is decided that from today, the press cards of three WSJ journalists will be revoked."
{Helloooooooooooo dilli billies!}

The Wall Street Journal identified the three journalists as Josh Chin, its deputy bureau chief in Beijing and a U.S. citizen; reporter Chao Deng, also an American; and Philip Wen, an Australian national.

As of Wednesday, China's National Health Commission said it has received 74,185 reports of confirmed cases and 2,004 deaths on the Chinese mainland. An additional 94 confirmed infections have been reported in the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macao as well as Taiwan, with one death in Hong Kong and another in Taiwan.

The newly discovered virus us spread overseas, with 805 confirmed cases in 25 countries, including the United States. There have been three deaths reported outside of China, bringing the worldwide death toll to 2,009, according to the World Health Organization, which has declared the outbreak a global health emergency.

I feel there is a even bigger picture lurking in the background , a western push against BOTH Indian and Chinese cultures and civilisations., only that the methods used are different. Only a convenient Soros is put up as a front against India. Wonder how many people can actually see this happening. It is right there in front of our eyes.

Before we go overboard with anti chinese sentiments believe that there are no permanent friends or enemies in geopolitics only shared interests. I think this needs to be repeated more often.

cheen gets angrier
China has denounced Washington for advocating freedom of the press while obstructing media, after it tightened control over Beijing-run outlets operating in the US by equating them to diplomatic missions.
Washington’s move against Chinese state media are “unreasonable and unacceptable,” Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang told reporters on Wednesday. The United States has always advertised freedom of the press, but it interferes with and obstructs the normal operation of Chinese media in the United States.

Geng stated that Beijing reserves “the right to respond further to this matter.”

The US Department of State earlier designated five Chinese English-language news agencies – Xinhua, CGTN, China Radio, China Daily and the People’s Daily – as “foreign missions.” This means that the outlets now have to seek US government’s approval to acquire office space and register personnel changes, just like diplomatic missions do.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told Axios that the measure was “long overdue,” accusing the Chinese media of being Beijing’s “mouthpieces” and “becoming more aggressive.”

Also on Wednesday, China revoked press passes for three Wall Street Journal correspondents working in Beijing over an article it branded “racist.” WSJ’s deputy bureau chief Josh Chin along with reporters Chao Deng and Philip Wen were all given five days to leave the country.
Wonder why. I would have taken them to the Siberian or North Korean border in an open truck and dumped them there.

And from our "Black ppl cannot be racist" series
England and Tottenham Hotspur football star Dele Alli has been forced to apologize after facing accusations of mocking an Asian man in a “racist” video about the coronavirus.
Spurs ace Alli, 23, posted footage of himself on Snapchat as he was preparing to fly out of London’s Heathrow Airport last week.
In the video, shared by the UK media, Alli is seen wearing a black facemask and zooming in on a man with Asian appearance in the background who is unaware he is being filmed.
“Corona whatttttt, please listen with volume,” Alli captioned the clip, which appears to pick up Chinese voices in the background. He then moves the camera to a table in front of him with antiseptic handwash on it, writing: “This virus gunna have to be quicker than that to catch me.”

Alli was accused of racism over the clip, with one person telling the Daily Star, which first shared the clip, that it was “wholly inappropriate to be filming this man and making jokes about the coronavirus.”

China Is the Real Sick Man of Asia
Its financial markets may be even more dangerous than its wildlife markets.
By Walter Russell Mead
Feb. 3, 2020 6:47 pm ET
The mighty Chinese juggernaut has been humbled this week, apparently by a species-hopping bat virus. While Chinese authorities struggle to control the epidemic and restart their economy, a world that has grown accustomed to contemplating China’s inexorable rise was reminded that nothing, not even Beijing’s power, can be taken for granted.

We do not know how dangerous the new coronavirus will be. There are signs that Chinese authorities are still trying to conceal the true scale of the problem, but at this point the virus appears to be more contagious but considerably less deadly than the pathogens behind diseases such as Ebola or SARS—though some experts say SARS and coronavirus are about equally contagious.

China’s initial response to the crisis was less than impressive. The Wuhan government was secretive and self-serving; national authorities responded vigorously but, it currently appears, ineffectively. China’s cities and factories are shutting down; the virus continues to spread. We can hope that authorities succeed in containing the epidemic and treating its victims, but the performance to date has shaken confidence in the Chinese Communist Party at home and abroad. Complaints in Beijing about the U.S. refusing entry to noncitizens who recently spent time in China cannot hide the reality that the decisions that allowed the epidemic to spread as far and as fast as it did were all made in Wuhan and Beijing.

The likeliest economic consequence of the coronavirus epidemic, forecasters expect, will be a short and sharp fall in Chinese economic growth rates during the first quarter, recovering as the disease fades. The most important longer-term outcome would appear to be a strengthening of a trend for global companies to “de-Sinicize” their supply chains. Add the continuing public health worries to the threat of new trade wars, and supply-chain diversification begins to look prudent.

Events like the coronavirus epidemic, and its predecessors—such as SARS, Ebola and MERS—test our systems and force us to think about the unthinkable. If there were a disease as deadly as Ebola and as fast-spreading as coronavirus, how should the U.S. respond? What national and international systems need to be in place to minimize the chance of catastrophe on this scale?

Epidemics also lead us to think about geopolitical and economic hypotheticals. We have seen financial markets shudder and commodity prices fall in the face of what hopefully will be a short-lived disturbance in China’s economic growth. What would happen if—perhaps in response to an epidemic, but more likely following a massive financial collapse—China’s economy were to suffer a long period of even slower growth? What would be the impact of such developments on China’s political stability, on its attitude toward the rest of the world, and to the global balance of power?

China’s financial markets are probably more dangerous in the long run than China’s wildlife markets. Given the accumulated costs of decades of state-driven lending, massive malfeasance by local officials in cahoots with local banks, a towering property bubble, and vast industrial overcapacity, China is as ripe as a country can be for a massive economic correction. Even a small initial shock could lead to a massive bonfire of the vanities as all the false values, inflated expectations and misallocated assets implode. If that comes, it is far from clear that China’s regulators and decision makers have the technical skills or the political authority to minimize the damage—especially since that would involve enormous losses to the wealth of the politically connected.

We cannot know when or even if a catastrophe of this scale will take place, but students of geopolitics and international affairs—not to mention business leaders and investors—need to bear in mind that China’s power, impressive as it is, remains brittle. A deadlier virus or a financial-market contagion could transform China’s economic and political outlook at any time.

Many now fear the coronavirus will become a global pandemic. The consequences of a Chinese economic meltdown would travel with the same sweeping inexorability. Commodity prices around the world would slump, supply chains would break down, and few financial institutions anywhere could escape the knock-on consequences. Recovery in China and elsewhere could be slow, and the social and political effects could be dramatic.

If Beijing’s geopolitical footprint shrank as a result, the global consequences might also be surprising. Some would expect a return of unipolarity if the only possible great-power rival to the U.S. were to withdraw from the game. Yet in the world of American politics, isolation rather than engagement might surge to the fore. If the China challenge fades, many Americans are likely to assume that the U.S. can safely reduce its global commitments.

So far, the 21st century has been an age of black swans. From 9/11 to President Trump’s election and Brexit, low-probability, high-impact events have reshaped the world order. That age isn’t over, and of the black swans still to arrive, the coronavirus epidemic is unlikely to be the last to materialize in China.

And we have 17 pages of posts.

Can anyone volunteer and sum up:
What we know about the virus?
What is China's response?
What is West reponse?

And what measures India took and should take?

Rest is all noise. I can get that from google chacha.

The biggest risk here is the potential for a cascade of financial defaults that could overwhelm entire municipalities or even the entire Chinese economic smokescreen. The reason for this is that interest on debt doesn't stop compounding just because they shut down the cities and factories. The whole thing works because they keep growing and the growth stays ahead of the growing debt mountain, akin to running downhill in front of a cascading avalanche. The last time they had such a sudden braking (during GFC in 2008), they did a mother of all stimuluses . They may now need to find additional mothers.

Also, the otherwise excellent article seems to conclude on the wrong lessons. The one thing that everyone seems to have realized is that putting all eggs in one basket is wrong and there is a need to diversify. If anything, I see a future where corporations will diversify their supply-chain and manufacturing to more countries automatically resulting in more global engagement. How will this result in more isolationism is confusing.

Ppl: pls consider these sentences from the WSJ article: Bold face is the non-chaff IMO
1. global consequences might also be surprising. Some would expect a return of unipolarity if the only possible great-power rival to the U.S. were to withdraw from the game. Yet in the world of American politics, isolation rather than engagement might surge to the fore.

2. If the China challenge fades, many Americans are likely to assume that the U.S. can safely reduce its global commitments.

Tell me: Did those phrases creep into an OpEd in the WSJ accidentally?
What do they mean?
Could one reading be:
a) If u quit trying to match our military might we will reduce our military posture, our ppl want us to downsize military (look at Afghanistan capitulation for example)
b) U may match us in conventional force, BUT... v have other surprises 4 u.
Could someone pls make a single post (or 2 posts) that list all the key news items and events in a timeline?
Then ask:
For instance:
a) Structure of the nCOV compared to previous coujins
b) what makes it extra dangerous and fast-spreading
c) any antidotes found?
d) countermeasures (other than PUHBUKAKUAG)?
e) National preparedness (India vs. Cheen vs. US vs. UK vs. Japan vs. Korea vs. Oirope)

This is apparently not simple case of flu gone wild. I ask the question again: How did MullahnCOV mutate and evolve t be so deadly, out-propagating the well-prepared Chinese with all their experience, knowledge base and nano-research capability WHY/HOW?

I think they are referring to political (and economic) isolationism gaining ground in the U.S.

If the Chinese economy implodes, the U.S taxpayers may not be willing to subsidize the massive bailouts that would be required to support the global economy. Nor would the German taxpayers.

If Chiese debts begin to default, which institution in the world will have the capacity to flood the global economy with the money required to cover it?

Post by UlanBatori »

I think a brief "time-out" on the cheen production machine may on the other hand, be a respite desperately needed by others, particularly Oirope. Think about it: a 2-month supply shortage has a far greater effect than a 6-month tariff in a trade war: the home-grown competitors get a captive market. Because those who need the intermediate products shipped from cheen (if there are any) are also paying on debt, and that is far more difficult to reschedule/negotiate because they are **NOT** in cheen.

Need for "diversification" is not exactly an unknown concept for those who can afford to have the WSJ delivered.

As for bailing out China-based entities, I think cheen can print enough currency, and call it replacement of quarantined notes. And they will make sure that no cheen-controlled bank or other lender dares squeeze any Chinese producer. If they had a Parliament they would pass a law to that effect but they don't even need that: they will just shoot any non-cooperative banker, if not nationalize them. Even India would do that: Indira G did exactly that to force loans to farmers and small fry.

So then the effect of non-performing loans (by my madarssa e-Khanocomics) will roll over to trigger higher interest rates all round. Another desperately needed relief because the deposit interest that fed most old retired folks has collapsed from the historical 8 - 10% rates of the past, down to 1.3 percent or so, leaving the government social security (I mean the concept not the Khan system) to pick the rest as possible. Meanwhile, in Khanistan etc, defined-benefit pension schemes are all crashing for the same reasons.

IOW, all such entities would welcome interest rates rising. Right now rates are sooo low, that the govts have no more room to "lower interest rates" to boost the economy: rates are practically zero, and even negative in Germany (Uber-Shariah).

The gist of all this, is that cheen taking a short break is no hardship for anyone on a macro scale. Which is why stock market is hardly hesitating, much less mini-skirt-shivering. (validation of madarssa eKhanocomics).

Look elsewhere for the meaning in that OpEd, and ask yourself why the cheen are sooooo mad at the WSJ with demands for action against the author, when there was no reaction to all the attacks and CTs in NYT, WaPO etc etc. Suggests to UBCN that the "author" is the SDOTUS/WHOTUS.
What do u see "racist" in that OpEd, compared to what the rest have been writing? Why the sharp reaction, expelling all their journalists? CPC thought the American conservatives admired Communism? At most it would have called for a cool "physician cure thyself" sneer at the US/Oirope economies as riposte for the "sick man of Asia" sneer.

I was reminded of the reaction when the Martyr Fighter Pilot Wong Wei flew straight at Dubya's EP-3 over Hainan - and collided, and died. In those days we had good cheen postors arguing their side vehemently on PeeAref - until one worthy commented wonderingly that in Chinese
"Wrong Way" would be pronounced "Wong Wei". Oh the rage!!
But this cheen govt. reaction is not a lash-out: it is cold, like war preparation escalation ladder. So ask yourself why. They are cynically using the US Opposition's primary weapon against the Govt, to attack the US administration (whom they see as the author of the OpEd), basically saying: Look, we don't need to be logical or reasonable, we can attack you where it hurts too!

99% of US and Oirope will not read that Op-Ed: 95% will hear that China called out US Right Wing for being racists - and agree with them.Q.E.D.

On ramana's point and my earlier request, here is the UBCN take. Please do argue back - but with clear citable links.
1. China, the US and all cold countries, have flu annual flu epidemics that do kill significant numbers every year. US average is around 4000??
2. Every decade in recent times, there has been a **RS atack that got worldwide attention and significant disruption.
3. Every nation, however poor, now has some sort of framework to respond to such attacks. IOW, they have no response to the daily carnage due to other things, and basic access to medical care is minimal to non-existent, but they have sophisticated networking with WHO, CDC etc on these **RS things. IOW, if there is a single case of those, they are supposed to report IMMEDIATELY to the WHO/US CDC. (US CDC is tightly chamcha with WHO). Funding comes. People in Bunny Suits come, on the next plane. Media attention. Witness Malloostanis who are past-masters at this game. There is **GOOD*** reason why middle-class Malloos would not rush to the Guvrmand Hospital just because they have flu or even pneumonia, it is nothing to do with quaint religious belief. Enough said.

4. There is huge research funding to study all sorts of virii.
5. The population of virii on Earth is several orders of magnitude greater than that of all other species combined, so Virus-stan's armies have infinite resources. Like old Mao's army: "If 20 million die, we have another 800 million where they came from". Here the numbers are far greater. BUT... WHO and CDC resources are generous enough to let people go dig in the Amazon forest with microscopes to find new species....

6.. AND STUDY THEM. Disease-CURING is always a purpose, including diseases **THAT ONLY ONE KNOWS HOW TO CURE***

7. So I would say that a nation like China has a very advanced CDC capability and vast resources of Case Studies including adminitrative aspects of disease response.
8. SO! HOW IS IT THAT A BUG EVOLVED SO PRECISELY TO GET AHEAD OF THE CPC IN 2019?

...and right when there was a trade and other kinds of disagreement between certain countries and cheen?

While on that track, ask what was/is special about late 2019- early to mid-2020? In china it is the Year of The Administrator. In the US? In Oirope/UK?

Now see our post above, re: the message being passed to, and the riposte from the Cheen/CPC on that WSJ OpEd. Enough said.

UB in Pre -2014 you would be warned, hung, drawn and quartered for Conspiracy Theory.
And dark hints of judicial process.

While people are thinking about this also list out the various Biology labs in India and what are they doing with CDC and any other foreign entity.

All should be registered and work agreements authorized by Chief Scientific Adviser to GOI.

 Conspiracy is our middle name. With Malice Towards None, but Suspicion Towards All.
But this is the flip side of "Oh the Chicoms are sooo incompetent!". No they are not: they didn't build modern China by being incompetent. They didn't outmaneuver US dominance of the East Indian Ocean, despite a far weaker Navy, by being incompetent. They didn't turn North Korea into a pliant newclear-armed missile supplier - and bissing on all US-Oiropean attempts to stop that - by being incompetent.

So why did this tiny little virus manage to blitzkrieg them? This is the point that has not been discussed at all. It's just a flu virus, "corona virus is usually harmless to humans" (Right??). But this one comes with some very interesting features, apparently, both in toxicity **AND** in ability to spread despite all usual counter/preventive measures.

UBCN has nooo expertise in such things, which is a polite way of saying that we flunked all zoology tests. But we can look at some macro indicators.

The catastrophe on the cruise ships shows what must have happened also in the closed-up high-rise apts of urban Chinese industrial cities. Traditional response and protocols, applied swiftly and without any second-guessing allowed. Like a Maginot Line.

The virus "knew" what humans would do... and knew how to circumvent that. It's like watching the Wehrmacht in France, 1940.

There was this mysterious Chinese doctor who was spreading awareness of the CoVid 2019 and succumbed to it.
Would like to know more about him.

Ha! New ishtudantz.

"Coronaviruses are a large family of viruses that are known to cause illness ranging from the common cold to more severe diseases such as Middle East Respiratory Syndrome (MERS) and Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS).
A novel coronavirus (CoV) was identified in 2019 in Wuhan, China. This is a new coronavirus that has not been previously identified in humans.
This course provides a general introduction to nCoV and emerging respiratory viruses and is intended for public health professionals, incident managers and personnel working for the United Nations, international organizations and NGOs."

Has it been identified in OTHER species b4 Nov. 2019? Last flu season?
The course will offer a certificate in the future, after all of the modules have been published and a quiz has been added to each module.
Ha! I am going 2 b an Expert!

Its all the (Indian) crew's fault! (Japanese blame game)
I agree with one thing there: all the *&^%$* forms that they make sick people sign using the same pad and pens used by the previous sick person..
Every doctor's office in Khanistan does that. Not to mention the year-old magazines.
Oh! As u go into the Quarantine, take this notepad and sign it!
 No wonder everyone in Quarantine gets infected!

Looks like a death trap. The whole notion of Quarantine is proving fatal in the case of this disease. Wonder what are the statistics in China, of people in the apartment blocks in the closed cities. But what else can they do if hospital beds are so short?

The decision to build new hospitals in such a hurry now shows that the cheen govt recognized VERY early that they had a problem that could not be handled in the usual way. Also note that it showed that the govt was PREPARED to get hospitals built at such short notice!!! Which goes to show that they **HAD** been prepared, but the virus outraced all preparations.

Note that this article was written on October 3, 2019, long before Coronavirus entered the popular lexicon and it is on the website of CBC the Canadian Government funded public broadcaster:

Canadian government scientist under investigation trained staff at Level 4 lab in China
Still no answers in probe of government scientists expelled from National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg
Karen Pauls · CBC News · Posted: Oct 03, 2019 2:57 PM CT | Last Updated: October 3, 2019

A Canadian government scientist at the National Microbiology Lab in Winnipeg made at least five trips to China in 2017-18, including one to train scientists and technicians at China's newly certified Level 4 lab, which does research with the most deadly pathogens, according to travel documents obtained by CBC News.

Xiangguo Qiu — who was escorted out of the Winnipeg lab in July amid an RCMP investigation into what's being described by Public Health Agency of Canada as a possible "policy breach" — was invited to go to the Wuhan National Biosafety Laboratory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences twice a year for two years, for up to two weeks each time.

"This will be third-party funded, and therefore no cost to [the Public Health Agency of Canada]," say the documents, obtained through access to information requests. The identity of the third-party was redacted.

During a Sept. 19-30, 2017, trip, she also met with collaborators in Beijing, the documents say, but their names have also been blacked out.

Qiu, her husband Keding Cheng and her students from China were removed on July 5 from Canada's only Level 4 lab — one equipped to work with the most serious and deadly human and animal diseases, such as Ebola. Security access for the couple and the Chinese students was revoked, sources who work at the lab previously told CBC News.
So did Qui illegally take coronavirus samples from the Canadian lab in Winnipeg where she worked to Wuhan?

She was fired in July 2019. Before that it is described that she was training scientists at the Wuhan lab on her twice annual periodic visits. After she was fired did the Chinese scientists in Wuhan without any "adult" supervision "screw up" and loose control of the virus?

apparently not. they have a babudom to rival us and are gentle only when they need to be, maybe they feared a "shaheen bag" protest for saving there own  . The infected count is now up to 621 that is 20%

I spoke to a friend from Northern Himachal(due north of Karakoram pass where only the Yaks roam free) who studied in the HAN core during SARS outbreak and he thinks this could be an op that went wrong. there is a power struggle after 11 grabbed the mandate of heaven

a few other updates
1. counting methodology has changed again. new cases are added only after lab test confirms a +ve
2. lawmakers are discussing whether to ban eating of exotic animals and ban wildlife trade. watch below video from 2:13 (WTF  still discussing ? )
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDxaaNPw8es
3. mean-e-while looks like 'Ilon blothers' are eating donkey Nihari and samosas fried with oil made from rat intestines. watch first 30 seconds.

they also have cure for this covid-19. just eat 7 kalonji (Fennel flower) facing west and if this does not cure you are not a true pissfull..
