the guy had a strong family history of this ailment.

his brother(s?) reportedly also have similar issues.

he was into a home gym fitness regime, not into any type of power building or preparing for a competition type of program

very unfortunate about what happened.

Why was the News on Bail of a spoilt Drug Addict Son of a Film Actor more important than the Supreme Sacrifice of this Young Soldier

Got a whatsapp forward video of someone in Narayan netralaya so not sure of veracity.

Apparently Puneeth Rajkumar donated both his corneas and these were transplanted to not 2 but 4 patients. The cornea was spiced into two with the front going to one that needed the front and the back likewise. Apparently this was the first time this procedure was done.

This is not the first time the family donated corneas. The elder Dr Rajkumar donated and someone else donated in 2017 as well.

Can any doctor comment on the procedure itself and the situations where it benefits?

Much pranaams to the Rajkumar family

I saw the video from Narayana netralaya. What they say is in blind people, either front of the cornea is damaged or the back, not both. So they used laser to splice the cornea in the middle, and replace on two blind people, one with the front damaged, another with back damaged. Even his mother had donated eyes but since his eyes were very good in health, they could do such complex procedure.

Fake news machine started in tripura to make false claims that multiple mosques were vandalized...but the good news is that some miscreants have been arrested.Progress one step at a time

https://m.rediff.com/news/report/tripur ... 211103.htm
Fake news is being circulated that a mosque in Kakraban area of Gomati district has been damaged and vandalised, it said on the microblogging site.

"This is a complete misrepresentation of facts. The mosque in Dargabazar area of Kakraban is completely fine & Gomati police is working to maintain peace and tranquillity," it said.
There was no incident of burning of any mosque in Panisagar. Fake news was uploaded on social media on October 26 by a group from outside to disrupt the process of development for all sections of people in the state," Chowdhury had said in a video message.
We need to increase the quantum of punishments on spreading "mosque burnings" false allegations via any medium not just social media

If the Prime Minister wants to pray in a temple he should do so privately and without cameras in attendance. These public displays at state expense are repugnant. They demean his office.

Bleddy perfect response :).

For those still confused about "India existed or not before the British" - here's a quote from Pliny the Elder (23 to 79 AD):

"It is an important subject, in view of the fact that in no year does India absorb less than fifty million sestercesa of our empire’s wealth, sending back merchandise to be sold with us at a hundred times its prime cost."

https://www.loebclassics.com/view/pliny ... Mode=recto

Pliny the Elder is said to have lamented that "there is a black hole in this universe, into which all the gold ever mined disappears, never to return - and that black hole is known as - India."

It is the other way round. If not for India, there would be nothing known as the "UK." The UK was held together by promising the Scots shiploads of gold from India. Now that the gold is exhausted, the UK will fall apart, it is inevitable.

Go on social media and search for terms like "politicisation of armed forces". Nearly every such veteran will be an obnoxious gasbag like this one

This man is so full of shit and hate that he can't even say truth. Cost mentioned is for a trip of 13 days with all meals included. Other luxury trains cost 8 to 12 times as much. These are the idiots who keep on whining against "politicisation of armed forces", Mudi baaaad" etc.

This is an unbelievably beautiful rangoli done with colour powder.

Just look at the transparency of the odhni, her eyes, hair and the details on her necklace.

It's amazing

A fascinating set of interviews of 20 yr olds who were all born on Aug 15,1947. These youngsters were interviewed about their life and asked about their thoughts on India which at that point in time was celebrating its 20th Independence day. What amazes me is the clarity of thought, language, articulation and a underlying feeling of social justice in these 20 yr olds which sadly is missing in today's generation. While so much has changed in India since 1967, some of the problems they speak of remains to this day 55 yrs later.

The out of control malicious media. It's high time that they were taken to task.

just imagine what vindictive twitter and facebook can do in India during elections, as indeed they did in the US, actively and effectively sabotaging the trump re-election

Himanta Biswa Sarma@himantabiswa (Chief Minister, Assam. India)

I am aghast to see this news in @timesofindia.

No Chief Minister can discuss Sovereignty of India with any one.

This is non-negotiable.

We all Indians, irrespective of our positions, are here to protect the sovereignty of India.

I strongly refute the news report.

This is FALSE.

Doesn't the CM has enough powers to publicly deny this on an emergency tv broadcast and ban TOI across Assam? Thereafter start legal proceedings against its editors and reporters under sedition laws, laws of inciting public and further more??

What can TOI do??

publish more such rubbish and get a bite from CM/PM which increases their circulation. there is a reason why these folks never get sound bites from MAD.
the best way is to go after them legally - file a police case. make them answerable.
another way (thats already happening) is to expose them - but the general public should do that - not the govt. the govt should atleast appear to give "Freedom" to the press.
