I doubt we will ever get a concrete clarification about origins of Covid (mainly due to lack of complete & honest co-operation from Chinese but also due to vested interests from other parts of the world) but even if a few credible reports come out saying that Covid is a man-made virus & an accidental leak is quite possible, one of the biggest casualty will be science/scientists.

Its not like pre-Covid, the field of science was free from politics but at least among the educated, science/scientists were held in an upper regard as when it comes to integrity & noble profession and in the face of times such as pandemic, scientists were expected to put side politics, economic considerations & other factors to pursue objectivity & truth.

As a recent article states that top US virologists who were involved in collaboration with Wuhan lab, authored a statement dismissing lab leak or man made nature of the virus and got other top virologists to back it up by signing and the attempts to censor by platforms like Reddit, FB...all these will leave a bad taste and perhaps encourage people to distrust scientists and ultimately science itself.

Anyways, even if it the origins of Covid are traced to lab leak, I am doubtful of anything concrete actions coming out of it. Just more lip service & empty promises of greater & transparent co-operation among countries, perhaps a symbolic slap on the wrist action against China...cause both EU & US are deeply wedded to Chinese economy. Hope is at least, there will be greater pressure to make sure the various labs where these kind of research are going on, the safety standards are reviewed, updated & continuously monitored to make sure leaks are prevented.

Clarification will not be necessary, innuendo will be enough to bell this cat. The Chinese will help us out by not being open/transparent and their inherent dishonesty will be enough for this dirt to stick.

In another news, Supreme court has dismissed the Bihar govt's petition to challenge Patna High court's decision to give compensation to the family of Hindu Boy(Anurag Poddar) killed by Bihar police during Durga puja celebrations. By the way Bihar Govt is a BJP alliance govt and BJP is the bigger partner. And the amount to be given to Hindu family was only Rs 10 lakh. To save this small amount from going to Hindu victim's family, the BJP alliance govt dragged them to Supreme court.

Analysis should be focused on the actual exploitation of virus rather than the origin. Lot of time and money were spent by countries like china and US on viruses. It doesn't take lot to infer what so called drama enemies were upto. The ones eventually benefiting from the virus are the creators. As simple as that. All the other stuff is for the show as there's no way to bring either to justice. Let's say that one proves that it came from the lab. How will one prosecute the culprit?

Like you said earlier it's all about the votes and Hindu votes are going down along with money. GJ itself isn't far as showcased by Bharuch fire incident compensation.

The West/Americans OWN the global narrative. Their innocence in this matter is a forgone fact. When they decide that its in their interests to go 'full Cambodia' on the chinese, nothing will save these commies.

Complacency is the word? Nothing that indicates that the West has such power. The mood of US public isn't there for any such patriotism. Overestimation doesn't help. For all we know, US has gone back to G2 theory. The famous chip shortage has caused lot of pain but still no meaningful actions from US on the ground.

Nothing surprises anyone anymore. If anything people will be surprised if BJP wins assembly elections comfortably because for the fickle minded hindu the only predictable behavior is to shoot himself in the foot. Parties like BJP will always be stuck in damned if we do and damned if we don't conundrum, the opposition merely has to contest. If Yogi does not come back to power then it will put UP and India behind by 10 yrs, the transformation of UP in just 4 yrs is unprecedented, on its part the center too has poured thousands of crores into development of UP. Hope the voters will rise above their caste affiliations and see where UP was under Mayawati/Mulayam Yadav and where it is today and vote for development.

Whenever I talk to Swaminarayan people, I always wondered why the sect's founder didn't solve UP's caste problems before GJ's. Though GJ is happy to have that been done. He must have thought them to be not solvable for UP. The founder had to trade off certain Dharmic things but casteism was diluted to a great extent by all the given competition to existing established powers. The presently it does look like a Hindu church system but did provide reasonably long time window where castism was diluted. It hasn't reached to the level of free form marriages but hopefully it will get there soon. Though it's becoming very prevalent to see swaminarayans marry each other and not outside. Pros and cons of all.

One of the unintended consequences of shooting ourselves in the foot is the skewed sex ratio in many hindu communities. Now people are forced to abandon their caste and look for brides from other communities. There are other factors playing a role in caste aggregation are urbanization, employment opportunities for young people especially women and electoral politics. As young people leave their villages/towns and move to bigger cities and become financially independent, they are increasingly marrying outside of their communities. Lastly the subcaste lines are fast disappearing because of electoral politics, for ex : sub-castes of gounders in TN are forced to vote together for a gounder DMK candidate for any chance of their community man winning, this is happening across communities now. The thing to watch for UP is if SaPa, BSP and Congi will try the "Mahagatbandhan" formula again, and if they do then how far will Mayawati support Akhilesh and vice versa. BJP's performance in 2017 was largely because of baniyas, brahmins, non-jatav SC and non-Yadav OBCs voting for them.

My concern is that those who oppose Yogi ji within party- in the name of Organizational rejuvenation - are attempting to rein him in. But I guess this will be his first challenge while emerging as a national leader.

Modi too in his early days had to overcome factionalism within GJ BJP , and veteran leaders who held higher positions in the government and the party like Shankersinh Vaghela and Keshubhai Patel tried to clip Modi's wings early on but Modi outlasted them all. While i have my reasons to doubt if Yogiji will ever be projected a PM candidate from BJP, he certainly should remain the UP CM candidate for the next 10 years atleast.

I wouldn't be so sure of that anymore. The fact is that China is not playing for second position anymore. They have done their homework for that. Their leadership has encouraged meritocracy along with competence and shunned political correctness as well as social justice gimmicks unlike US. As far as their GDP is concerned, it is within striking distance of passing that of US in less than a decade, probably 5 or 6 years at max.

In lot of cutting edge critical STEM fields they have almost at par with US. For eg Artificial intelligence, Quantum computing, biotech including Biowar, automobile and EV production etc. In many fields they have already surpassed US such as electronics production, civil infrastructure, telecom and networking equipments, lithium ion battery production, High speed Railways, shipbuilding, solar panel production, UAV manufacturing etc. In low to medium tech manufacturing, America is not even in race.

As of now there are only few fields where US still has a decisive lead such as Semiconductor design, civilian airliners, jet engines and defence technology.

Furthermore being proactive they have either banned or heavily regulated American Big tech and social media giants which could have been used as tools to shape and manipulate chinese public opinion apart from exploiting Chinese social and economic faultlines. Instead they created their own technology giants such as Tencent, Alibaba, Baidu etc, which have become formidable competitors on global level both with respect to their revenues and market cap as well as the products and services they are offering.

Chinese urban infrastrucure is also much better than that of America, where homelessness and crime are endemic for quite some time now. As far as internal security situation and crime is concerned China is in a much better position than most of the world including USA.

Additionally Chinese do not give a single dime about social justice and woke agenda unlike US. Hence their society is much more cohesive than that of US which is coming apart at seams due to political, ideological, economic and racial differences. Chinese are also much less degenerate in their personal behaviour and less of a parasite compared to average American.

Here just check the latest US Army recruitment. They have forgotten that to win wars you need battlefield warriors and not social justice warriors. Activism cannot be a substitute for battlefield performance. All the advanced defence technology will be of no use if you do not have the right warriors for the job

Even the CIA has been afflicted by the woke and social justice. This is their recruitment video.

In contrast check the chinese recruitment video. If you ask me as of today I will be placing my bets on Chinese

America is giving a walkover to Chinese without even fighting. They are more interested in commiting suicide. Infact the sooner this degenerate shitshow is over, the better it would be for world.

So your benchmark for being a non fickle minded hindu is voting for BJP. By the way the same fickle minded Hindu has ensured term after term for BJP in states like MP, Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Haryana, Bihar, Assam etc along with centre. Even in UP hindu voters have voted for BJP in 3 successive elections for now. 2014 LS, 2017 VS and 2019 LS. While voting in BJP did improve infrastructure and ensured better progress for all these states, did it give any extra benefits to Hindus by themselves. At the most BJP is slightly more neutral compared to other parties. For eg if a hindu is murdered by an islamic in a BJP ruled state, his family might be able to get FIR lodged against the perpetrator ofcourse after some hue and cry. That is about it. BJP is not a hindu party and neither they themselves have ever claimed the same. Infact their motto is "sabka saath sabka vikas". So why should only Hindus lose sleep over the question of BJP's electoral performance. From another perspective BJP can be even worse for Hindus especially Hindu leaders who actually have skin in the game. For example, how Namo himself shunted Praveen Togadia from Gujarat's political landscape. While population of islamics is low in Gujarat compared to some other regions, they are very strong in pockets like Kutch, vadinar and Bharuch Dahej zones. And how Kamlesh Tiwari was murdered in a BJP ruled state after his security was downsized by BJP govt.

More importantly most of the Hindus with political awareness and Ideological clarity are coming to the conclusion that in the long run their electoral choices and democratic processes will be of little use if any, where their survival and future existence in this land is concerned. They know better than to depend on any political party or a messiah for their safety and freedom. So why take so much headache for BJP or congress or any other party ?

I do agree with your analysis that development of UP will take a backseat if Yogi ji loses. The cascading economic effect will be felt on India as well.

Out of the list you quote Bihar is JDU with BJP continuing to play the role of a junior partner, Haryana is a ventilator govt and will function only because of the Chautala family drama, Chattisgarh BJP lost and now 15 yrs of good administration of Raman Singh is being reversed rapidly in every sphere, in MP too BJP lost and was only salvaged because of the Scindia faction. Your claims of that crook Praveen Togadia is nothing new, he is free to fight elections with Su Swamy and co on whatever platform he chooses, i am still waiting for him to win a panchayat election on his own after nearly a decade of whining about BJP and Modi. Most BJP voters don't vote for BJP solely because of their hindu credentials, they vote because voting for other "secular" parties solidifies the belief that it is totally acceptable to sacrifice hindu interests , national security, development and economy at the altar of "samajwaad" and "jaatiwaad". If Modi was so unacceptable he wouldn't have won two absolute mandates with the largest majority not seen since 1984, and BJP wouldn't have used him to win states where they have never won before.

Aim of such commercial is to bring down moral of opponent and it succeeded. You can not judge strength of army from promotional videos. Strategic vision and planing is not mediocre. Do not be impressed by shining boots and perfectly aligned prade. Occupying Siachin, training in Antartic, flexing muscles in indian ocean and testing anti sat weapons are few examples of taking initiatives preparing for future. Political will was not there.
Nobody wants to fight war on opponents terms. Army takes this in account. One has to create condition where enemy has to fight on your terms.

This is unusual... is it even appropriate for states to lobby like this (with US Congress reps' offices) without GoI involvement?

Interesting parallels being drawn here... wonder if anything is cooking beneath the surface.

TN reaches out to US civil rights leader to help state with vaccine supply - TNIE
CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government has reached out to US civil rights leader Jesse Jackson (Sr) to help ensure that at least 60 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccines from the excess reserves in the US are shipped to India at the earliest.

In an appeal to Jackson on the direction of CM MK Stalin, Finance Minister Dr Palanivel Thiaga Rajan held a zoom call meeting on May 21, and urged Jackson to request US President Joe Biden to expeditiously release an allotment of AstraZeneca vaccines for India (including a portion earmarked to the State of Tamil Nadu) from the 80 million vaccines that the US has offered to donate to foreign countries, according to a statement issued by the Rainbow Push Coalition.

The statement quoting the Finance Minister saying that Tamil Nadu has inexplicably received a very low allotment of vaccines, as a proportion to its population (6.5% compared to around 16.5% for Gujarat for example). It appears that additional allotments in the future are not likely either. Therefore, the only possibility of mitigation is the acquisition of a large quantity of vaccines from abroad, he had stated.

The finance minister stated that Tamil Nadu has the best medical infrastructure with one medical doctor for every 300-400 people, and access to primary Health Care in almost every village. This can ensure that mass vaccinations of AstraZeneca will be administered effectively in a timely manner, he said.

On Monday, Jesse Jackson Sr., conveyed a personal message to the Chief Minister: "Help is on the way. We stand by you. Keep hope alive. We will do our best to ensure that the state of Tamil Nadu gets its due share of covid vaccines soon.”

According to a release from Rainbow Push Coalition, Jackson Sr., founder and president, Rainbow Push Coalition, along with Dr Vijay G Prabhakar, National Chairman, American Association of Multi Ethnic Physicians, United States and the Global Ambassador of Rainbow Push Coalition are camping at Washington to ensure that the vaccines are shipped to India.

Dr. Vijay Prabhakar, Rainbow Push Coalition’s Global Ambassador & President of World Federation of Tamil Nadu, informed the Finance Minister that Jackson Sr., is in touch with US President and Vice President Kamala Harris to facilitate state governments' of India being able to purchase AstraZeneca and Johnson and Johnson vaccines from the manufacturers.

It is learnt that during the interaction, the Finance Minister explained the History and Evolution of the Dravidian movement in South India and drew a parallel with the US Civil Rights movement.{Another Afro-Dalit project in the making?} He stated his deep respect and admiration for Rev Jesse Jackson Sr’s life-long efforts for civil rights, and as the fourth-generation of his family to work for the Dravidian ideals of Social Justice and Inclusive Growth stated it was a great privilege to meet and work with Reverend Jackson Sr. on this initiative.

Have never heard of this "World Federation of Tamil Youth" while living in the US. Has anyone else? What are their antecedents? In this day and age, this organization seems to have no website known to the major search engines. Sounds quite odd.

Quoting my own post as I wanted to share an update. This seems to be a storm in a teacup - going through the social media handles of the some of the above mentioned people, I couldn't see anything odd - on the contrary, all of them seem supportive of the country, including the current Modi govt. Found quite a few tweets in support of Dr Tamilisai Sounderrajan, who is a medical doctor as well as the gov of Puducherry and Telengana. Lastly, the only Christian connection I found was that of Dr VG Prabhakar, who is now associated with a Rheena university, which seems to be a Christian institution. But, lest we jump to conclusions, his twitter handle shows him openly supporting the Indian-American efforts in Chicago to oppose and defeat the recent anti-India resolutions (about CAA) in their city council. His group also appears to have played a role in the recent call made by Kamala Harris to PM Modi.

Chicago’s 49 Ward Alderman Maria HATEmann sowing seeds of HATE among Indian American Community in Chicago by sponsoring misleading Resolution R2020-583 . Intensified campaign to Recall Maria HATEmann starts today. Chicago’s 49 Ward needs an inclusive Leader not a Hater!
Maybe someone familiar with Chicago could comment further, by as far I am concerned, except the for appropriateness of a state govt directly lobbying with a foreign country, I don't see any sinister design behind those involved.

We are deeply concerned by the blocking of Twitter in Nigeria. Access to the free and #OpenInternet is an essential human right in modern society.

We will work to restore access for all those in Nigeria who rely on Twitter to communicate and connect with the world.

First of all whatever I wrote was in US-China context and not in India-China context. India is not even in the race notwithstanding the vishwaguru hype. So yes Chinese propaganda is designed to lower the morale of its opponents and that includes US. But do you know what will destroy American morale even more? It is America's own failing society which is reflected in is own videos infused with wokeism and diversity Shitshow.

Now coming to India. As far as Indian prowress in strategic vision and planning or lack of it is concerned, more than 50% of discussion on BRF military threads is driven by the incompetence or malafide intent of our military planners. Whether it is Arjun/T90 saga, MMRCA, Artillery induction, Submarines etc. Just check the latest drama in form of Armored vehicles RFI sent to multiple countries including Turkey and US. This is something that can easily be done by Indian agencies right here in India Thereby making a complete mockery of PM's Atmanirbhar program. The rot is deep.

Whether it is Procurement, Developing and Inducting Indigenous technology, inducting talent laterally or Jointness, Indian military establishment is behind the curve on all the above attributes. Basically anything that cannot be pulled off by Junior leadership alone.

I could not spot anything against Congress or nehru family. For people who follow this year after year, has there ever been anything anti Congress or nehru family? Anything and everything gets laid at Modi's feet but this is a confirmed case of whom they blame but still no obvious signs in their protest.

for juhi chawla, in the disguise of activism drama, a family business plot lies.

chawla's family seems to have a company in the radiation protection business and also her congi connection makes this PIL far from innocent

the icing on the cake: mafia famiglia is still gunning for the udyog pati...

The entire bollywood is a snake pit, each one more venomous then the next. Juhi Chawla hedged her bets in 2019 just before the elections when she supported NaMo but looks like now her true bollywood colors are coming out. In the 5G thread i did speculate if her husband's business interest or business rivalry with Indian telcos may have been the reason behind her frivolous lawsuit and looks like i was right. The other person who should be kept an arms length away is Akshay Kumar, anyone who is friends with ISI stooges like Tony Ashai and claims to be a patriot should never be trusted.

Indian court did give Juhi time and priority hearing. So in the end, the whole thing could not have been frivolous. It's almost like Indian court wasted lot of people's time and resources including Juhi's.

I thought that the Indian courts have more cases than one can count.

Modi’s bulldozing of parliament shows him as the architect of a Hindu Taliban

https://www.theguardian.com/artanddesig ... ish-kapoor

Questions:

1/ what is going to happen to the old parliament building ??

2/ When was this Central Vista scheme first envisaged ?
