How do you know? This is not necessarily the case. Here is the indemnification policy of the university in question:

https://policies.rutgers.edu/5033-currentpdf

It says employees will be indemnified for legal defense if they were acting as an agent of the university. I have much doubt whether Trashke pursuing internet-based attacks against HAF in cohort with these random organizations (none of which are university affiliated) would be approved by the university as "acting as agent". These would be her personal activities.

For a public university to support legal defense for the alleged activities would be highly likely to attract blowback. In earlier communications, the university made statements of "strong support" for Trashke...now let's see if they walk the talk when this is escalated to legal action. If the university admins have any common sense, they'd question whether they hired history professors to spend their time working with IAMC, Al Jazeera et al. as an "agent of the university".
just wait and watch saar.

^^I am talking about the university defending her legally. I don't care if someone else crowd sources it.

The lawsuit is about her internet posts defaming HAF and other Hindoo orgs as violating US laws, and not about her published books or "research work".

Her own twitter account says "views are own".

It is classic Sonia Congress Pakistaniyat.

Says someone who's state single handedly sank India's efforts in containing the pandemic. Incredible how KL, MH, PJ, CG and DL mismanaged the pandemic and led the 2nd wave but conveniently blamed everything on the central government.

Maharashtra to pay Rs 6 crore to handle Ajit Pawar’s social media account
The cash-starved Maharashtra government has earmarked nearly Rs 6 crore for handling of the social media accounts of deputy chief minister Ajit Pawar, who also holds the finance and planning portfolios.

As per Musale’s order, the external agency will handle Ajit Pawar’s Twitter handle and accounts on Facebook, Blogger, YouTube, Instagram. Other things to be handled are sound cloud, WhatsApp bulletin, Telegram channel and SMS.

Incidentally, the CMO has already appointed an external agency in July 2020 for handling its social media account. “Due process of e-tendering was followed while appointed the agency,” a senior official told TOI.

A senior bureaucrat questioned the appointment of an external agency for the image makeover of Ajit Pawar. “We have a full- fledged DGIPR with a total staff of nearly 1,200 and an annual budget of Rs 150 crore. Then why do we need an external agency for the promotion of the deputy CM?” the bureaucrat asked.

 Maybe because there are two CMs - one from the SS and the other from the NCP (handling the remote control)

Not quite the case in this article. He is asking for a more communication and slightly more accessibility. The problem is how can Modi reach people who are not in the Bhakt category at this moment. As everyone who is not in the Bhakt category is baying for his blood. Its almost like a lynch mob. Being fanned by the opposition.

We have some voices that are trying to speak out but they are being dismissed as Godi Media.

It is actually frightening to see the level of Hate some people have. Some of the most reasonable people I have known have been taken in by this hate.

In the last 15 days or so I have had only one victory but that was mostly due to luck. But more is needed. Or we are in for very tough times.

Which is a very reasonable ask. Modi & Co still have the government media outlets available. That is AIR, Doordarshan etc. At least come up there and give updates or some morale lifting speeches. The people who suppport Modi can actually use these appearances and take it all across social media. To be frank, after the election rallies I don't see Modi any where else (other than in stock pictures shown in main stream media). I understand that by nature Modi is not very keen on interviews or press conferences. But he has to do at least increase his media presence to show that he is still there. Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan was also a media unfriendly person, but he used to give daily updates. At times it used to be boring, or opposition used to raise counter points. But at least it showed that he and the Health Minister knows what is happening and has a plan ready. And he also knew how to cut the journalists when they cross the limit. He did not have any hestitation to say "that is it for today" and then walk off the press meet.

At this stage no morale lifting but actual data is required. There needs to be a daily press conference with reports on how much was disbursed and to whom and what is the prognosis.

There isnt much to update really. The vaccine rate wont go up anytime soon given the supply crunch, so the cases will have to go down naturally as the flu season peaks also supported by strict lockdowns helping reduce the load. This isn't too different from other cases when the best intentions of the government did not yield expected results, like demonetization for example. In the days and weeks after demonetization when it became clear that MoF and RBI had overlooked simple things like recalibrating ATMs and making sure replacement money was readily available leading to all sorts of problems, Modi and the govt kept a low profile and quietly worked on alleviating the problem , and once they overcame the problem they did not mention about it . Demonetization was never mentioned as during the 2017 UP election campaign or 2019 general election campaign.

Overseas Citizens of India, stung by Home Ministry notification, plan to take battle to Supreme Court

The March 4 order asked professionals such as journalists, engineers and researchers to notify the Ministry about their activities in India.
The Home Ministry’s March 4 order that required professional Overseas Citizens of India (OCIs) such as journalists, engineers and researchers to notify the Ministry about their activities in India has left them in the lurch.

A portal that was to come up for the purpose is not operational yet. A Ministry official said it was delayed as several officials in the Ministry’s foreigners division tested positive for COVID-19 in the past month. A director rank official, A. Radharani, succumbed to the virus last week.

The official said the OCIs could intimate the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) through e-mail till the portal is activated.

In the meanwhile, the Delhi Court dealt with extremely important matters such as phone announcements that are played:

https://indianexpress.com/article/citie ... t-7314130/
“You have been playing that one irritating message on the phone whenever one makes a call, for I don’t know how long, that we have the vaccination when you actually don’t have the vaccination. You are not vaccinating people but you still say, ‘vaccination lagvayein (get vaccinated)’, kaun lagayega vaccination (who will get vaccination) when there is no vaccination. What is the point?”

Why no one is raising the question that the people of india were utterly foolish in rejecting the vaccines initially which made the companies demotivated to increase capacity? We want good leaders but when we decide to be good citizens? Now everyone wants vaccine in one month. Sometimes I feel, we are not a nation but 1.3 billion crooks United by geography making maximum money off everything.

"Leaders of Major Opposition Parties" is rather self congratulatory. India has no major opposition party to begin with. The largest of the lot is too small to even merit a Leader of Opposition position according to the rules it wrote itself - it has 9% of seats in Parliament. The entire lot of them combined have 20%.

One third of them are CMs and therefore deal with the national Covid policy every week. They can raise these topics there. The rest are career politicians. The letter serves to keep them in the news more than anything else.

On point 3, how is it a good suggestion?

Let's say compulsory licensing is issued. You can then license BBTech's process of making vaccines for a pittance. Let's say you even have a capital of $1Billion. That is you have already Rs. 7348,00,00,000 or Rs. 7348 Crores in your bank as well.

What are you going to do? Where will you manufacture vaccine? Let's say each vaccine shot you are planning to make is at 1000 Rs. That is some 7 Cr vaccines. Where are you going to get the bioreactors to make such large amount? Do you know that the BBTech is in process of commissioning a 10000 Ltr BioReactor with mammalian cells to grow the virus and that bio reactor is *the largest in the world*.

Okay you may say that you will hire the best and also the ancillary technologies (like making the bio reactor) is also licensed to you. For free.

When will you get started? When will you finish the project? In next 3 weeks? In next 3 months? In next 3 years? If it is next 2 months and later, then it is useless and waste of time and money. Why? All other vaccines are coming online. And with 20 lakhs being vaccinated per day (or say 1.5 crores per week) (or 6 crores per month) in the next 3 months, 18 crore will be vaccinated. Add in ~18 crores now and 36 crore people are vaccinated at least one single shot. So your 7 crore vaccines will be too little and too late.

Hence point #3 from the Vasooli Rajas and Vasooli Ranis is totally useless. They have abandoned all responsibilities.

And for item #4, it is accounted for. That is PMCares fund is accounted for. It is the PMNRF which it replaces that is unaccounted. PMNRF was a CONgoon kitty to give money to only those who toe the CONgoon line. Lot of it was pilfered and went back to CONgoon MLAs and MPs. PMNRF was the biggest scam pulled on the people of India. And hence the howls.

Personally when someone uses this word as a slur, I call the user a person filled with Hate. That they automatically ascribe Bhakt to someone giving them factual information. I also tell them to get some help as NaMo is living rent free their heads.

PS:- I think that we have to own Bhakt and not be defensive about it.

That letter is public for a reason and also shows clearly all the political parties which are "supporting the farmer's agitation"

It is also a public declaration of intent, post the bengal elections.

As I said earlier, the primary targets are the PM cares funds, farm laws, and free vaccinations where the center bears the entire cost as well as the entire blame for non-performance on the health front of all the states where these piddly parties exist.

Blame-shifting is a politically abusive behavior pattern or tactic where these commie, congi, lootyens and BIF abusers have no intention of taking responsibility for their problems.

Blame-shifting as practiced by them is a form of context switching where they seek to replace facts in the minds of the aam aadmi using goebbelsian techniques.

They believe that a lie, repeated again and again, would appear as the truth. If goebbelsian tactics is one among "their collective strategy to counter saffron wave", then they should remember that goebbels failed.

the eyetalian mafia is asserting its right to pole position, if not a leadership position.

Given the BIF backing of a number of the signatory parties, a temperory truce may have been brokered by the powers that be.

Also, note that khujliwal is conspicuously missing from the starting lineup despite several of these parties being very friendly to him and vice versa.

Madras High Court Upholds Equal Rights For Hindus In Temple Processions, Rejects Covert Sharia Rule

Snapshot
One hopes that the pushback by the Madras High Court will continue with other courts upholding equal rights for Hindus.

Hindus are entitled to equal rights to public spaces.

The Madras High Court has, in a significant judgement on the use of public spaces and streets by religious communities, struck a strong blow to deliver equal rights for Hindus.

The judgement, delivered on 30 April 2021 by a two-judge bench comprising justices N Kirubakaran and P Velumurugan, involved a case from Kalathur village in Tamil Nadu, where the Hindu and Muslim communities were locked in tense combat over the rights of Hindus to celebrate their festivals by taking out processions on certain days.

This was being opposed vehemently by Muslims. The bench ruled in favour of granting Hindus the right to practise their religion even in areas that now had a Muslim majority.

While this sounds like a familiar story that could be true almost anywhere in the country where the two communities live in close proximity, what is significant in this case in not the verdict itself, which merely laid out a constitutional principle, but how the Muslims argued the case.

Apparently, while communal tensions had been there for decades, from 2012 onwards some members of the Muslim community in the area objected to the processions involving four major temples not only because of a potential threat to law and order, but because the community viewed these Hindu festivals as “sins”.

The processions were thus unacceptable in a Muslim-dominated part of the village. Put simply, the additional argument was that in Muslim-dominated areas, what is prohibited by the sharia has to be prohibited by the Indian state even in the spaces in question belong to all citizens.

This attempt to create a covert sharia-compliant zone was rejected by the bench in no uncertain terms.
The judgement (read the full judgment here) said, inter alia:

“Intolerance in any form by any religious group has to be curtailed and prohibited. In this case, intolerance of a particular religious group is exhibited by objecting for (sic) the festivals which have been conducted for decades together and the procession through the streets and roads of the village are sought to be prohibited stating that the area is dominated by Muslims and, therefore, there cannot be any Hindu festival or procession through the locality.

“India is a secular country and merely because one religious group is living in majority in a particular area, it cannot be a reason for not allowing other religious festivals or processions through that area. If the contention of the private respondent is to be accepted then it would create a situation in which minority people cannot conduct any festival or procession in most of the areas in India. If resistance is being exhibited by one religious group and it is reciprocated by the other religious groups, there would be chaos, riots, religious fights causing loss of lives and destruction of properties. Consequently, the secular character of our country will be destroyed or damaged.”

The bench pointed out that under “Section 180-A of the District Municipalities Act, 1920, roads or streets should be used as access to the people irrespective of their religion, caste or creed. Merely because one religious group is dominating in a particular locality, it cannot be a ground to prohibit from celebrating religious festivals or taking processions of other religious groups through those roads. If it is to be accepted, then a day will come when a particular religious group which is predominantly occupying the area, will not allow the people belonging to other religious groups even to use the roads even for movement, transportation or the normal access. Even the marriage processions and funeral processions would be prohibited/prevented, which is not good for our society.

“The temples are there for decades together. Merely because a religious group got settled in a locality and has become vociferous, they cannot object to the custom of taking temple's procession through all the streets in the village and consequent upon their objections, the customary and traditional practices cannot be prevented or prohibited.”

I have quoted this judgement at length, and even somewhat repetitively, because it exposes the mindsets of some Muslims when they dominate an area, and this becomes a no-go zone for other communities. This has been happening not only in “secular” India, but also in many parts of Europe, where Muslim immigrants tend to ghettoise themselves in some areas where even the police fear to tread.

As I wrote some time ago, secular states fear to apply the law fairly in areas dominated by the Muslim community. Here are some excerpts from that article:

“In January 2016, a Muslim mob rioted in West Bengal’s Malda district and even burnt down the Kaliachak Police Station. Within days, not only was the station repainted as if nothing happened, but most of its police personnel were transferred out. It was as if the state government wanted to quickly forget what happened there.

“In fact, India is not the only country to deal with Muslim issues with kid gloves. In Germany, which faced a huge influx of Muslim refugees from war-torn West Asia, Chancellor Angela Merkel admitted two years ago that there were places that were “no-go areas” for ordinary citizens. Muslim ghettos that are no-go zones have been reported from Belgium, France, Sweden and Denmark.

“In Britain, Pakistani Muslim ‘grooming’ gangs were raping teenage girls in Rotherham and other towns for years, but the police failed to act in time due to fears of being called ‘racist’ or ‘Islamophobic. Some Islamist groups are even trying to create a small sharia zone in East London, but thus far there has been no organised pushback by the state.”

The Medina mindset, where the community tries to create its own self-governing zone where the state cannot quite operate, is taking hold in India and elsewhere. One hopes that the pushback by the Madras High Court will continue with other courts upholding equal rights for Hindus based on a simple principle: public areas cannot be closed to anyone just because those living there belong to the Muslim community.

Hindus are entitled to equal rights to public spaces.

Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1

The more i think the more i feel Modi must be one of the unluckiest politicians in the world. He inherited a tattered economy in 2014, banks hiding over $150 billion in NPAs, an out of control current account deficit and fiscal deficit, a runaway inflation , a rapidly falling currency and a GDP growth which had been steadily falling for 3 years. The national security had been ignored, the needs of armed forces had been neglected for years, and fundamental issues had been left unfixed for decades. He spent his first term fixing many of these problems with some success, gets re-elected with a bigger mandate and hopes to use his 2nd term to usher in badly needed reforms and accelerate the growth when pakis hit Pulwama, overcome that and the BIF begin their series of andholans starting with JNU and Jamia Milia students rioting about "hostel fees" in summer of 2019, soon after the CAA gave a lightning rod for BIF to call upon their masters, benefactors, soldiers and began protesting and rioting across the country, just when we thought protests were dying down, a once in a century pandemic hits! If things werent bad enough China encroaches Ladakh, and when the nation was just getting up trying to dust itself the farmers protests began, and now the country has hit rock bottom with the 2nd wave of the pandemic killing thousands, devastating the economy and destroying all the hardwork and sacrifice put in over the last 7 years . Losing key states like WB , MH, TN does not help either as many of the central funds and schemes are prevented from reaching the beneficiaries thanks to partisan politicians. It will be so much harder going forward unless there is a miraculous change in fortunes in Modi's favor.

Compare this to INC or any of the khichdi ragtag "mahagatbhandan" party where all they need to do is "exist". When they are in power no media questions their corruption, violence, misdeeds or lack of governance. When they are in opposition they can either just wait for their turn quietly as media hammers NDA or riot using their massive army of labor and student unions. In some ways Indian political landscape is similar to that in Argentina where the peronists despite being in government for much of modern Argentina's existence blame the opposition for all of Argentina's shortcomings while out of power and continue to blame the opposition while in power all aided by a clueless population and a very biased media.

Probably what we need a party more to the right of BJP without which the heat will continue to be on the later and the obstacles set in front of it will only increase in the years to come.
