Not FORTRAN but IBM 360 assembly and COBOL. CICS/IMS is done using Mainframe Assembly. IMS DBMS schemas are described in Assembly. The OS itself is written in PL/S a proprietary version of PL/I. None outside IBM OS division, even with in IBM, had access to the compiler nor the language definition. CICS is a TPS (Transaction Processing System) which has very high throughput for transactions.

Exactly., most banking industry still uses IBM 360 with other systems (auditing, etc) around them.

so far, the mullas and the missionaries were happily playing tag at the expense of the Hindus.

Now they are falling apart.

Like what happens in a gang when the more violent partner snatches away the other's loot

Priti Gandhi - प्रीति गांधी@MrsGandhi
Bishop Mar Joseph Kallarangatt, of Kerala's Syro Malabar Church openly accuses extremists for trying to "end non-Muslims" by using tactics like ‘love jihad’ & ‘narcotic jihad’.

For the first time the head of a Catholic diocese has directly named Muslims!

I grew up in the suburbs of Chennai (Madras). And it was common knowledge that Drugs, Sex and Money were used to lure Hindus to Christianity. This is NOT here-say. Christian missionaries used women to encourage conversion. At least one acquaintance of mine was lured to convert by Drugs and Women. He became a fringe evangelical Christian from a Tamil Iyengar family. Literally, I have first hand knowledge. And now the church is complaining that Islamists are converting Christians using the same tool they used! Oh! Karma

Lalpura is new minority commission chairperson

Chandigarh The Central Government on Wednesday appointed retired IPS, Punjab cadre, and national spokesperson of the BJP Iqbal Singh Lalpura as the chairperson, National Commission for Minorities.

Its a good thing and a bad thing. Good because the stranglehold of one community is broken. Bad because it perpetuates the idea that Sikhs are separate from hindu dharmic fold, which is a British colonial divide and rule policy.

[Leaving Infy for a moment, and focusing on what government can do ]

I hope that the GoI will understand the urgency for bureaucratic overhaul. The majority of civil servants are inept in matters of technology, not just with IT, but whatever engineering and science related work they're supposed to get done. A lot of this is due to the dominance of IAS over other services, as well as the current recruitment process through UPSC.

If one officer is entrusted with getting the new IT portal up and running, would it not be prudent to have someone who understands technology, or has proven product/project management skills? Sadly, there is acute shortage of such officers who can understand a problem from product /engineering viewpoint. The prevailing system where people get promoted regularly on seniority basis, the generalist IAS/CSE dominant recruitment, and no lateral entry for talent, is going to be poor in getting such complex projects done. They will fail to formulate accurate requirements, or follow up on project progress with SP.

Infosys has messed up big time, but let's focus for a minute on what the government can do ?

1. Short term : There are already groups within government that have managed to roll out successful projects that were both complex and technologically challenged. People have already pointed out ArogyaSetu-Cowin, where a complex product which works was provided with evolving requirements during a pandemic. These civil servants or government orgs, who have proven skills in getting such projects done should be encouraged and recognized. They should be given similar responsibilities, and be rewarded ( promotions, salary hikes, etc. ) in manner that reflects those responsibilities. Create new organizations if needed

2. Long term : Pursue bureaucratic reforms with full force. Recognize the necessity of technology skills based recruitment and training with lateral entry, and performance reviews. Create a workforce than understands both their domain in the government, as well as technology, project /product management. Make it a lucrative career with great benefits and compensation (like I guess SG does) to attract the best. (There are already a few smart and hard working individuals in civil service that are getting things done, but the system does not recognize their contribution)

All this is easier said than done, and will face immense opposition from entrenched bureaucracy, and other vested interests. BUt if this government means business, then they have to go full steam on these crucial reforms.

Also, focus on creating great HR with better tech related education, so they can create latent for filling these positions, and in private sector. But that is another discussion.

One of the problems in attacking a group is it promotes group cohesion.

I could attend only Session (1) yesterday, cooking naivadyam, collecting local pathri, Ganapathi pooja and festival meal with family had to take precedence. Anyway, here are my quick notes taken live and corrected & formatted today. Sorry for the destructuredness but given the level of speakers, more effort would be putting lipstick on a pig. Still, suggest you read through quickly to get a gist of what these speaker's positions are refrains are (they really don't merit to be called "arguments")

(1) Friday, September 10 9:30 – 11:10 am EDT / 7:00 – 8:30 pm IST What Is Global Hindutva
Opening Remarks: Gyan Prakash
Christophe Jaffrelot | Meena Kandasamy | Anand Patwardhan | Moderator: Thomas Blom Hansen

None of the speakers are familiar to me, except Jaffrelot whose video on “Modi’s Hindu Nationalism” I watched a couple of weeks ago and posted a comment earlier in this thread. So no possible bias from my side towards the person of any speaker.

I joined 2-3 mins late

Gyan Prakash was on – mumbled for a few minutes about how they were putting up this event despite threats etc without naming or revealing who the organisers are, He and all speakers avoided saying anything about the significance of the date chosen for their event 11Sept – Islamic terror attacks on US or that Ganesh Chathurthi falls on this date this year.

Thomas Blom Hansen – Mumbled some stuff and called on Jaffrelot (each speaker had about 15mins)

JAFFRELOT: What is global hindutva ?
Started with claims he rcvd lot of hate & threatening msgs and complained to highest level of French govt – didn’t elaborate – victim card already
Says Hindutva = Savarkar Ethno nationalism
Scared land – territorial view which transformed into global hindutva due to
- Diaspora – affluent , Hindu orgs reached out with digital very early in the 90s Rambled on about various intl events of RSS, VHP etc. Global Hindutva wants to be Vishwaguru – acts with a sense of superiority
Ran out of time to make any clear argument or conclusion. (He thinks in French and struggles to translate into English to speak therefore ends up using misnomers and appears confused & incoherent often. French people don't think straight to begin with anyway :D )

Anand Patwardhan : Hindutva is as hindu as KKK is Christian
Starts by playing 2 min clip from his Docu film called Reason – Vivek (its avl on youtube, ) – clip shows some muslim being beaten for eating beef, Gujarat cattle carcasses rotting, some large muslim gathering, RSS drum beats – jholawala attempt to demonise hindu organisations

Read a vapid letter he wrote to some ppl who sent him hate mail. Nothing worth noting.

Criticises Savarkar’s book Hindutva as a brahminical project of supremacy.
Sanatan, Aryan, Vedic, Hindutva are all claims of supremacy. RSS leaders are all Brahmin
Hinduthva thrives on Caste superiority – its enemies are Xtians, Muslims and Dalits. Seeks to establish Manusmriti – a misogynistic Brahmin text. RSS are murderers of Gandhi.
KKK are buffoons compared to Hindutvavadis who are sophisticated Brahmins
Nothing else to substantiate the title claim.

Plays another clip showing visuals about Asarambapu rape case, some one promoting Dr Athawale, street displays of martial arts and nanchaku by some presumed RSS YOUTH etc.

His refrain: “Hinduism is a dynamic composite that absorbed from passing streams” and Hindutva denies this since it is a brahminical superiority movement

Meena Kandaswamy (not sure what her theme was, she reads from prepared text – a woke word soup)
Starts with claims she rcvd death threats against her and her 4yr child regarding this conference !
Hindutva is Anti minority caste superiority Brahminism movement, perpetuates 2 inequalities: Caste discrimination and Women oppression (patriarchy). It’s a movement this is inspired by Fascists, Nazis and Trump
Hindutva seeks to create internal enemies and grow outwards – Hindutva embraces neo liberalism and attacks Muslims & Xtians, Polarises society to safeguard Brahmins since Brahmins = Hinduism
Sharpens individual caste differences to preserve Brahminism and consolidate it as Hinduism. Perpetuates oppression of women by caste system – aims for manusmiriti to replace constitution. We must show resistance to this appropriation.
Post-colonial discourse is being highjacked lately by Hindutva (shock)
Decolonialisation – Hindutva is appropriating this too, wants to go back to pre colonial backwardness, it glorifies hereditary vocations to perpetuate caste discrimination. Sadhvi Prganya Thakur given as example.
Self complements her intellectual rigor.
Quotes Ambedkar – only when we uproot Hindutva, we shall erase caste inequality
Hindutva is hiding behind preserving Indian culture to defend Hindu a ethno-nationalistic state & caste system oppression

****
Some tidbits from speakers during Q&A (Qs selected by Hansen, not spontaneous live) grouped across questions:
Meena - Got stumped by the Q what should be the Role of Savarna women in fighting Hindutva ( :rotfl: ) – they should rebel against caste oppression. Back off from anti dalit stuff. Not use feminism to continue caste oppression. Strong defence of Shaheen Bagh where muslim women were in the forefront. Parised the usual heroes pf shaheen bagh.
Hindutva taking cover of Critical Race & Decolonialisation theories adopting National Populism ideology and its modus operandi. Women, especially dalit women & muslim women are first victims of Hindutva.
She said she herself is born to a tribal father and shudra mother.

Jaffrelot:
Modi has centralized power to an unprecedented degree, draws parallels with Indira Gandhi. Extols UPA govt for being diverse & more efficient , consensus based politics is better for India. Modi has consolidated upper castes & OBCs for victory.

Patwardhan:
Gandhi's views changed over time, he went away from Hinduism due to Hindutvavadis (or something like that). Tilak supported child marriages
Project Saffron Dollar – collected lots of money from diaspora for reconversion of adivasis ghar waapsi (so adivasi conversion is OK but reconversion is not !).
Hindutva is fast sperading abroad for ex: in Myanmar, SriLanka, Europe etc.
Claims Norway picnic island mass killer Anders Breivik was inspired by Hindutva !
Foreign funding tap turned off all NGOs but but not for Hindutva movement which gets big $$$ from diaspora ( :(( :(( :(( ).

Lastly event organisers were thanked without naming any.

Applies only to people who consider themselves as hindu. I have come accross multiple people who think and act that hindu is an artificial construction. Such people are too many to count.

The INC regime over the last few decades has spent a lot of time brain washing Indian Hindu preparing them to be assimilated.

Thank you. The original DGH was trying to get the mindshare of students like it has been happening for the last 100s of years. More than the speakers, was there a sense about the audience or participation?

After Yediyurappa it is now Vijay Rupani's turn to resign as the CM ahead of the assembly polls. While Yeddi was clearly a victim of factionalism and tribalism that exists within BJP Karnataka, Rupani's resignation does come as a surprise. BJP won in 2017 with Vijay Rupani as the GJ CM face (although NaMo had to hold rallies across the state in the last days before the state went to polls). He has also done well continue the excellent work BJP has done over the years in making the state one of the best in terms of infrastructure, promoting large and small scale manufacturing, improving water supply etc. He also kept most of the agitations out of the state - be it against CAA/NRC or the farmer agitation.

So his sudden resignation may well be the idea of CR Paatil, the new BJP party president in the state and BL Santhosh, the BJP national general secretary to replace the incumbent CM while there are still few months left before the GJ polls. The other angle could be the patidaars who have been moving to INC/AAP, so BJP may name someone from the patidar community to placate them.

Hindutva = toxic masculinity based on Manusmriti, built on rape of minority (= muslims and dalits) women and children, in Gujarat (which was a pogrom), Muzffarbad, Kashmir, Khatua, Dhanteras….

Basically using rape victims to attack Hindutva. Makes it look like no other community or context is involved in rapes, only by hindutvavadis to spread hindutva.

During Q&A: Historically or history is written on the mutilated bodies of women. History = p0rn. State = big phallus. HIndutva – especially bestial and uses rape and sexual violence as a way to power and legitimizes it. Femicide is day to day affair for Hindutva. (jeez what a nut case)

Aniruddha Dutta: Hinduva and Trans Community
(reading from prepared text) (himself seems to be overtly a gender-fluid trans person)
Spoke about Hindu hijras vs Bangaldeshi Muslim migrant hijras/kothis, Kinnara community.
Hijra victim of Ratna Chowdhary: Because she is Bangladeshi muslim (the story was hard to follow). Forced Hinduisation of Bangladeshi muslim hijras?!
Homo/Hijra/Kothi <> Hindu Nationalist nexus, portraying Hindus as tolerant and muslims are homophonic. Mixed with Bengal electoral politics.
Or … like… whatever….

P. Sivakami : Hinduism, Hindutva and Hindu women. (reading from prepared text)
Hindutva is rooted in Brahminism. It is responsible for caste system, caste discrimination. Quotes Ambdekar. Blabbers usual stuff for a while. Equates all types of religious fundamentalism in the world with Hindutva. Criticises CAA, Art 370 repeal. Hinduism is enemy of, anti-thesis of democracy. Creates its mirror images among musims. (why not in Xtians?!)

Untouchability is prevailing in Brahimins who exclude themselves from others they are twice born (dwijas). Endogamy by other casts is also untouchability.
Temple centric villages – closer to temple higher the cast. Fertile lands for upper casts closer to water sources. Dalits have nothing.
Reservations have done nothing to change caste endogamy, not for caste based discrimination and exploitation. Reservations have only reinforced Brahmin hegemony.
Non Brahmin Middle class opportunism – they support caste fight only when it suits them, but do not work to neutralize Brahmin superiority. They enjoy by increased ecomonic opptys thanks to reservations.
Dalits are the only crusaders against Hindutva. Must align with non hindus to fight Brahmins.
Hindutva has no project for hindu women except to turn them against muslim men. Dalit feminism hasn’t found its expression.
Patriarchy blah blah.
Anti-brahminism is justified, they deserve it.
(Periyar’s worthy daughter basically)

Akanksha Mehta: Rightwing sisterhood, Savarna Hindu Women (SHW) in Hindutva politics and Zionism.
Soup of woke terminologies and phraseologies – a true zealous fruitcake.
But this person’s discourse was quite interesting and revealing to me.

Casteist, racist, patriarchal system = Hindutva.
Hindu upper cast women = SHW operate to further Hindutva in 3 main ways
1. Education & Pedagogy: Capture formal space in edu with their upper caste privilege, they build informal networks of edu, conferences camps Ex: Durga Vahini,
2. Pod & web casts which draws heavily on Hindu narratives and Hindu mythology. Publishing books etc by SHW. Elite savarna women networks are very active. Protection of uppercast hindu family is the core goal. Ex: Love jihad counseling centers. Woem are counseled in the front, men beaten up in the back (LoL!)
3. Charitable work done by SHW is really to monitor society, muslims. Hindu Vahini given as an example. Also informal networks: SHWs promote Friendship, fun and violence! Particiapte and encourage violence every day against dalits, bahujans, adivasis and non-hindus. Encourage their men too to conform to Hindu icons. Engage in settler colonialism and dispossession of all non-SHWs in a systematic organized way.

Hinduism & Zionism: SHW often invite Zionist Women to conferences etc and to learn from them. There is a Transnational sisterhood of SHW & ZW.

More woke word soup around the Tanishq advt phenomenon.

Q: What about Muslim male sexuality? A: Islam & muslims get a pass because they are suffering caste system as well. Lot of word soup I couldn’t make sense of – probably deliberate to sidestep the question.

This speaker is someone to watch out for in terms of nuisance & deceit.

(5) 11:30 – 1:00 PM EDT / 9:00 – 10:30 pm IST Contours of the Nation
Mohamad Junaid | Arkotong Longkumer | Yasmin Saikia | Nandini Sundar | Moderator: Suchitra Vijayan

Mohamad Junaid: Hindutva State and Domination
(reads prepared text)
Has Hindutva become "the State?" Yes
Refers to Jeffrelot. Hindutva has appropriated all state symbols, icons therefore Hindutva is a now the state. It’s a totalitarian state with brutal violence. Inclusivity is not moderation but political compulsion. Usual stuff you can read in any NYT piece.

Is it an anti-muslim state? Yes
Hindutva needs a demonized minority to exist. So Yes. Not own progress but Muslim’s decline is the goal. Unending brutalization of Ms by public spectacles of humiliation. Army in Kashmir does this actively. Hindutva appropriates Muslim’s cultural artefacts.
RSS' RMM is there to be humiliated.
Congress is not protesting anymore.

Hindutva in Kashmir :
Dogra hindu state was already a discriminatory Hindutva state dominating a moslim population for over 100yrs. Refers to Mridu Roy’s works (?) that detail muslim oppression under Dogras. Kashmiri Hindus were dominant large land owners pre 1947. Hindutva oppsed land reforms.
Aug 5 19 – overt total domination, as a brazen settler colonial state.
Claims Kashmiris have been asked to produce a Hindu CM to have state elections.

Arkotong Longkumer : Hindutva Contours
He is from NE
Sangh Parivar celebrates local icons from NE. Maps etc. Akhand Bharat. Rukmini-Krishna narrative. Connecting Arunachal to Gujarat, to convert myth into history. Seems more like an observer/serious scholar than anti-Hindutva ideologue.

Nandini Sundar: Indegeniety & Hindu Supremacism –
starts with Jai Johar & Jai Bheem (she may not be an ST herself)
STs are not auto designated as Hindus by constitution.
Hindutva shows contempt for adivasis while trying to recruit them for political gain.
1. Vanvasi kalyan ashram : State has always been soft hindutva to counter Xtian missionaries. Multiplier for electoral prospects of bjp . Joshua proj is bad too. Anti Conv law – doesn’t respect local gods
2. Census politics : Advs by default hindus or others. They worship Ravan & Mashishasura therefore not hindus (!) 30% reduced to 4%
3. Mining & displacement + counter insurgency. Adivasi gods are not recognized so their sacred sites are not respected. Paramil camps. Adani groups interventions.
4. Forced Schooling of adivasis in ChattisGarh & Odisha – similar to Canada indigenous schools – leads to deculturalisation. Cultural drowning out of adivasi traditions & festivals ex Bastar’s Dashera by overly loud Hindu(tva) celebrations that are not local.

Seemed genuinely concerned for adivasis and not exclusively anti hindutva focused but Hindutva’s extremist tendencies alarm her. I could be wrong here.

Yasmin Saikia: How did Muslims in Assam become outsiders?
She is a muslim from Assam. Assam has a blend of H, M and Tribals
NRC, CAA risk denationalizing muslims. Muslims are 35% of Assam. Assamese vs Bengali muslims. British encouraged Muslims migration into Assam into islands & remote areas. BJP is pro Assamese speaking Ms.

Very complex history over the years to follow her discourse easily. Everybody seems to have played dirty politics.
Muslims went from migrants to illegal to be deporteds over the years, Cong played dirty, BJP continues.

Seems genuinely concerned, not specifically anti-Hindutva focused but thinks Hindutva also spreads divisions and hate (like other parties have done before, but with Hindutva ideology) and indulges in needless disparaging around love jihad, beef eating etc. for political gains in NE where history and intermingling of peoples has been very complex across ages.

All these people, and many many more like them are all still part of Bharat. We can't wish them away. They have to be constructively engaged, and some of them may we worth salvaging. Others need to be confronted and debunked.

The worst stuff that I can barely stand is actually woke greenism peddling using IPCC crap on global warming & climate change, and the Greta acolytes. That stuff makes my blood vaporise and really pisses me off.

Meena Kandaswamy is a well known offender on twitter, she is known for her anti-hindu drivel. Nalini Sundar is a certified naxal, a DU professor and wife of our "eminent intellectual" , part time journalist and full time propagandist Siddharth Varadarajan.

Cyrano, so you don't think it's a good idea to ban these people from re-entering India? What more can the media in the US/UK say, that they haven't already? It's not like they will take the position " We didn't think highly of Modi and the BJP, but this is the last straw" or "We had doubts about the BJP being intolerant of dissent, but those doubts have now cleared" . I suppose you're thinking of the effect in India itself.

Notes on Multidisciplinary Perspectives

Overall Summary: There was objectivity in the presentations but with a pound of ideology. Unnecessary references to Hindutva/Brahmanical/ BJP/RSS/anti-minorities/colonial/sub-altern yada yada yada.

Dr. Meera Nanda (Spoke a lot, Very ideological)
- Going after Baba Ramdev. Ministry of Aayush became the purveyor of "dangerous concoctions".
- Ministry of Aayush worked with RSS to distribute Covid related drugs in Haryana (costing millions of dollars at tax payer expense). Ayurveda for the masses. Going after a minister for not taking Ayurveda, but settling for western/bio medicine.
- Hindutva claims that Ayurveda and Yoga are symbols of Hindu genius. Modi upgraded Aayush to a full-fledged ministry provided dollars, wellness tourism, Dhanvantri puja was declared official?
- Strategic inclusivism. Not syncretic. Claiming foreign traditions as what Indian sages said. Modern science cleaned out and reduced as reductionist view.
- Hostile takeover of western medicine. Empiricism of modern science was appropriated and ridiculed at the same time and making statements as eternal claim of Ayurveda. Modern science included and subordinated.
- Charaka and Sushruta reference. Going after yogic sadhana of Charaka and Sushruta. Somehow seeing un-seeable things thru mind-vision.
- Celebrating eternal truths of pancha loka, Kapha etc.
- Claiming scientific legitimacy but excluding scientific methods/investigative methods
- Ministry of Aayush had a gag order - Principles concepts and methods of Aayush are not comparable with modern medical system. No to double blind study.
- Pseudo scientists can learn a lot from Ministry of Aayush
- Going after Sreenivas Murthy and Prakash (Ayurvedic). Ridiculing them as saying Hindu Vedas as root of modern science. Railing them that they claim Hindu as a universal system and not as a religion.
- [KR: Something to the effect of], Hindu and Modern Science are mutually exclusive;
- Ayurvedic medicine was a fiasco during Covid -
- Science is patriarchal; Science is colonial etc.
- Baba Ramdev is a richest man in India, Ayurveda and Bio medicine (Western Medication) are the same guilty of commercialization
- Ayurveda must be put to double blind randomized studies. Do no harm must be the first requirement, Claims some herbs are toxic and poisonous. Liver toxicity is an issue. Subject Ayurveda to the same methods like Bio science. Quotes the example of Ashvagandha and liver damage. (KR: Fair ask)
- Critique of Bio medicine legitimizes Ayurveda. Sins of Bio medicine has provided a lot of hall pass/leeway to Ayurveda

Dr. Kavitha Sivaramakrishnan (KR: Good communicator, Somewhat Ideological)
- Applauds organizers as committed and courageous
- How did the Indian state use Ayurveda? Hindu piety, moral something.
○ Integration of welfare state and encouraging people to take responsibility for self (KR: You think this is a good thing, eh?)
○ State abandoned individuals to their own self-care and community service during second wave
○ State did not provide substantive help, Bio moral rhetoric
- Hindu Ayurveda has been invoked for Hindutva (ideological in nature); Wellness tourism.
- (KR: BIG LEAP BIG LEAP) Show Ayurveda as Ancient, Indigenous, Natural, Alternate as gentle and holistic. But Ayurveda blunts the violence against cows, caste, and minorities etc.
- Ideology is a façade but Ayurvedic practitioner have become commercial. Calls that Ayurveda must be regulated.
- Motivated by global commercial market - Dominated by upper caste, middle class context. Post-colonial setting? Reference to Pandit. Sharma (Ayurveda) Bio politics of nation making
- Bio medicine vs. Ayurvedic claims;
- Dismantling Ayurveda claims is difficult from tops-down; What can we do to discourage public from pursuing Ayurveda? Public health structures in post-colonial India is coming apart due to Nehruvian prioritization (no primary care/no prevention, cure center). Health centers are in urban areas, Privatization, not accessible.
- Hindutva governance encourages indigenous medicine (Swach, Ayush); Public believes in this beginning 1990's
- Emphasis on individual responsibility and from Family/kin- state provides rudimentary welfare.
- Second wave of Covid isolated/communalized minorities. Middle class saw their access to health care marginalized.
- Distrust of bio-medicine and accessibility to Ayurveda makes public amenable to the later. BJP is taking advantage of this.
- She articulated very well - Her point was we have to go after the trust of the people to wean them away from Ayurveda, BJP is just taking
advantage of this lack of trust. Push Ayurvedics to reciprocate the trust by proving their methods thru scientific methods.

Dr. Banu Subramanian (Low quality presentation, Somewhat ideological)
- Questions conflation of Hinduism and Hindutva; Asserts Hindutva is Brahminical; [KR: Excuse me?]
- Claims Modi made statements on Karna (not born to his mother, therefore transplanted) and Ganesha (plastic surgery?)
- Hindu nationalists are unlike Christian fundamentalist as the later reject science.
- Hindutva is political nationalism. Archaic modernity. Science and Vedic nostalgia
- Colonial mindset is still rooted in science.
- Indian science congress making claims on Einstein's theory as being false, Ravana having 24 airplanes etc.
- Claims Aayush Ministry promoted Cow urine etc.
- WhatsApp clips of Baba Ramdev promoting Coronil/Ayurveda, Campaign of dis-information.
- Compares India to other authoritarian nations; Ridicules Modi.
- Government targeted Minorities, Dalits and dissenters when they were trying to spread "accuracy" during Covid second wave. Crushing writers, increasing surveillance. [KR: Random statement of the day]

On Nalini Sundar, she does raise pertinent questions about adivasis rights, freedom to live as they want, practice their traditions and not be forced out of their lands for mining etc. Nor be pressured to choose between cross and lotus. Naxal movement arose in specific tribal geographies due to specific factors that continue to exist today. I dont know about her actual work.

Meena is a visibly nut case.

Watching the other conference of Hindus

Rajiv Malhotra talks about Atrocity Studies and Post colonial studies of the left.
Atrocity studies were first used by whites to dehumanize American Indians. Once it became mainstream, they massacred them and every one justified massacres. Similarly they are setting up Atrocity theory for Hindus. They have now South Asian groups in universities are being used to officially propagate this hate. Another angle to justify the violence on Hindus is to use people like Sashi Tharoor. He will say I am a Hindu but I hate Hindutva. So it is OK to dismantle Hindutva. But OTOH, the jihadis in US and Europe openly want to dismantle Hindus. They openly say it. But that has been already justified under Hindutva and no one can discern the difference. BTW, the Dismantle Hindutva is being funded by Indian American Muslims.

We keep thinking of Marxism. He says they moved on from it. Post colonial studies and Atrocity studies now are far more sophisticated. They study religion/history/puranas more than any one trying to deconstruct ad redefine concepts. They appropriate all these concepts and start their hate campaign.

He says all the violence and jihad they are going to unleash in Kashmir and India using Taliban will be justified in the name of Hindutva
