2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
Talking to family and friends in AP, Vande Bharat express is being considered with a lot of pride. When the train did a trip, many people came to see it in the station receiving it with drums. Looks like they came to see the train. Every one is proud of the trains. Even when my colleague visited Mumbai, his nephew took him to 75 year celebration of Independence day with tirangas everywhere. His nephew was so proud of it.
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
Yes, and as visual proof there are countless FB Reels/YT Shorts that attest to this. People in India are proud of this accomplishment, and they celebrate real progress. The aesthetics of the train itself is so beautiful, the interior is comfortable, the service and the real kicker, 100% Indian made. Initially the rag-tag Opposition tried to downplay the achievement (like the bent nose-cone due to cattle hits) but had to really put a quick lid on it as they saw public affection.

Each time I go to India I can post a list of "civic sense" issues I noticed for every day of my visit. Is it relevant to this thread ? If I see a lot of police somewhere, do I automatically assume they are there to prevent Hindus from defacing property in the area ?sanjaykumar wrote:I am not sure of the connection, but the point is intrinsically valid.
Indians badly need civic sense on cleanliness and littering.
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
The police deployment is for pilgrims to feel safe and keep the people flow smooth. What's the problem?
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
The police is to prevent any terror attacks.Vadivel wrote:I am in Varanasi now and just visited Kash Vishwanath Temple.
The temple is good and organized and clean, thanks to Modi-Ji.
But the amount of policemen and security guards is a eyesore.
I mean if the KVT in Varanasi which is in heart of India needs this much security detail so that no-untowards incident takes place, its like living similar to dhimitude. There is a church right at entrance to the street which leads to KVT and off course the mosque too, but to catch a glimpse you need to strain bit from within the temple, though from Gate 4 its easily visible.
I am also not entirely sure if the heavy security is for protection from the peacefools or from our own UP Bhaiyas. The taxi which we took from airport to hotel, drove on opposite side of the road for a nearly half kms to skip a traffic jam (there were other cars too on this entourage, so he was not the only one), the driver kept opening the door and spitting the pan liberally as well.
It's still very serious threat.
You can see the old thread on bomb blast in Varanasi.
Yes civic sense and infrastructure improvements are under way.
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
When it comes to civic sense, even lord Shiva cannot help India.

Amartya Sen was born in Dhaka.
I guess we shld not have allowed him to come to Kolkatta.
I am sure he would have had the opportunities he got in life while living in Dhaka.
West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee is a master choreographer, she directed the “migratory” Professor to deliver his political homilies when #G20 meet was happening in Kolkata!
One a self-obsessed intellectual narcissist & another a self-possessed fascist!
Europe is already regreting malsi migration and the disastrous after effects of a parasite holding the host as hostage has gutted the social fabric of these societies
India is also slowly getting there and CAA is meant as an antidote

sree iyer's book : Who painted my future bright
A ship carrying 2 containers, each containing Rs.5000 crores in 500- and 1000-rupee notes, docks in the dark of night at Kochi. The money is quickly distributed to members of a minority community using a network of 100 Chartered accountants. The bulk of the money finds its way back into fake firms, shell corporations, and charities with the sole aim of destabilizing the country. A DIABOLICAL PLAN BY THE FREEDOM PARTY TO WEAKEN INDIA Greedy politicians of the Freedom Party want to ensure that the opposition can never come to power. Pander to the largest minority, enrich them beyond their expectations and ensure they will be with the party. To this end, a plan is hatched to print high denomination money and try and increase the velocity of money, thereby creating the illusion of growth. A compromised Finance Minister is forced to buy paper from the same sources as India’s rival Pakistan. Their intelligence wing gets hold of the security threads being used in Indian notes through honey trapping and comes up with notes that are almost as good as the real ones. The fake money brought in slowly starts moving around the country, driving up inflation and real estate prices, mixing with good notes. Because of a series of scams, the government gets voted out and a single party (People’s Voice) gets an absolute majority. The new party responds to a terrorist attack with a surgical strike deep in the enemy territory. Pakistan decides to retaliate by flooding India with fake currency, by tripling its fake currency production. India responds by demonetizing the 500- and 1000-rupee notes and printing new notes of a different size. But despite the best attempts, a porous border with Nepal and Bangladesh results in a significant amount of the fake currency entering Indian banks. When the notes were tallied, instead of 87% of printed notes coming back to the Reserve Bank, 113% comes!

Being for the benefit of Ms Truschke and the NYT.
Actually, similar field studies need to be carried out by third world researchers in the first world-inherent bias, agenda, teleological study design, systemic opacities. It would be most interesting to see if such research is published in the 'prestigious' and 'leading' journals.
Hermeneutics needs always to be considered first in any cross cultural study, whether it is Negroes in Oregon, the Irish in Northern Ireland or Muslims in West Bengal.
(BTW I had to laugh at Amartya Sen's birth place factoid, Dhaka. What readily exposed hypocrites these fools be).
Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
I think I understand the import addiction. It is the politicos. They don’t want the party on power to have any real achievements to claim as success to get votes. All parties were in on it. So the only way out was import and screwdriver giro. It took a MODI to change the narrative and win in a significantly different way to open up the possibility for make in india.

Indeed.
The UK's image of a safe-haven for criminals, looters, despots and embezzlers would be seriously jeopardized if Mallya, Modi are extradited.
It would also worry all the existing crooks - they'll need to find places elsewhere to park their loot.

Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
chetak, the last paragraph on the second news item you posted on Collegium - that is a real stinger.
Rijju is not backing down. President, VP etc are also putting pressure.
DYC 's options are limited and does not have much wriggle room. There arent any avenues for him to get more backing on this stance. He has lost the media battle already. This is not a good sign - I expect Judiciary to bring trouble before 2024.
Even more worrying is that this battle is now in the open for everyone in the world to see.

Re: 2021 Strategic and Political Analysis-1
That's precisely the reason why Govt is taking on the judiciary now. If BIFs claim in 2024 they lost because EVMs are rigged etc (the recent PIL on EC appointment was not a one off action) and challenge the result before SC,
A. Either they haven't reformed so they will have no credibility or public support
B. They accept govt's proposals and reform therefore any case before them will be dealt with impartially.
For what achievements barely couple of months in office does Harward shower with "Award for Global Leadership" ? It's to build a larger than life persona that can't be touched. This is also not a one off event.

Too bad for DYC. The hollowness of these awards are now general knowledge among vast sections of the population.
